Excited about eating the Festive Special around the holidays

Portions seem to be getting smaller every time I order. Pricing also is going up.

Went in sat down ordered soup and garlic loaf after waiting 40 minutes the waitress returned infoming the table that soup would be another 30 minutes but after 20 min they brought it to the table and it was less then Luke warm. The chicken was dry and stringy. This was our third and time eating there.

My meal was dry and the server was not attentive to us a family of eight. All their fountain drinks had a funky taste to them, that made drinking them unpleasant. When dinner was done and we asked for the bill, we waited 15 minutes and I had to find our server, who was sitting with another server deep in conversation in a quiet section of the restaurant and was not apologetic for the wait.

Great service even as it was close to closing time. Cynthia the manager was very kind, all in all 10/10 service

A very nice Swiss Chalet, I will say. Service was incredible, especially for a chain like Swiss. Very kind older lady serviced us and was lovely. And the chicken was perfectly cooked. Nice job to this location!

Waitress was rude to us and the chicken was so hard she had to bring me another piece and take the other one back. Will never go to the Ajax Swiss Chalet.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I tried placing an order for delivery online then I called as they said it was closed. Called 2 times but yet your establishment online said it was open until 9pm it is currently 5:59. When I called the toll free number they said this location was closed for delivery however I went on uber to see what other options I have and guess what came up? Swiss chalet. Weird how it s closed for delivery but not closed with uber??? WILL NOT be coming back here for any meals and will urge others to do the same. I would also like to point out it is not thanksgiving day it s Sunday.

Came on Thanksgiving. Waited 20 minutes to be even greeted. Ordered food but their thanksgiving special , they didn t even have stuffing left. And for the pumpkin pie, they told us at the end they didn t have pumpkin anymore. Our appetizers came but no utensils and no small plates. We had to ask twice for them. Server was decently rude but I get it who wants to work on thanksgiving. Wouldn t hurt if she smiled a little.

Old decor. Food was good and was a good size portion. Staff was friendly and checked a couple of times to see if we needed anything, refills , sauce etc. Was a better deal then the mall.

It was extremely busy because they were short staffed even though most of the restaurant was empty. We waited a long time to get seated. Elizabeth was awesome and great service. Food was really good.

I will never order from this location again. I ordered ribs+chicken+seasoned rice. The rice was stale. Like it was old, made a few days ago. I spit it back out as soon as I tasted it. The ribs were so poorly done. The chicken was not bad but not the best. Never donating $ to them again.

It was my birthday so my son decided to celebrate by taking me to your location for dinner. I was very disappointed in the meal. I ordered quarter white meat chicken with salad and I definitely asked for no bacon. When I got my order the salad has bacon. There was so much dressing it was unbelievable. The chicken was dry and cold. My grandson had a cheese burger . I have never seen a burger so disgusting I all my life. It was sloppy with the cheese run down all sides. My son had to take his portion home to microwave it with bbq sauce. That will be my last visit to your location.

Hi I had a coupon for 2 can dine I had the quarter chicken the chicken was so tasty and I love the famous chalet sauce was delicious and I decided to have apple pie with ice cream was very good choice the pie was so tasty and the server was amazing she was also the part time manger excellent service and very tidy restaurant cheers.

Food was okay. The service was excellent! The server Elizabeth was very nice. Though, the seating was a bit tight.

Mina is the friendliest and fastest server by far of any restaurant. Good chicken and fries.

Our waitress, Elizabeth was exceptional even though we had to wait 45 minutes for our chicken to be cooked.

As always a great place to dine. Portions sizes have shrunk and prices have increased. Still enjoy the food though.

Picked up takeout. Kitchen could of been cleaner. manager was nice and knew the shrimp were burnt and made the cook do it again. Wait for long since we said a time for pick up and still had to wait.

The service is toooo slow, I ve been there before and there s always just 1-2 waiters, it was always empty, still a little slow but manageable, but today it was very busy, same 2 waiters, we got the waitress who always have been super nice but today seemed really annoyed and low on patience. They didn t have many of the things we asked and overall it was a very disappointing experience, I will never go back to this restaurant.

I ordered for delivery. I ordered white meat and the chicken was pink on the inside. The baked potato tasted old and definitely not fresh. The salad I ordered came with lettuce that had gone bad and even the bun was stale. What a waste of $40. I will never order swiss chalet again from any location.

Guest services has rectified the issue by escalating with management. They were quick, helpful and friendly. They communicated with the store directly to share the issue. Kid-friendliness: They have kids meals

My family of four walked into the restaurant at 830pm. The sign clearly has hours posted of 11:30am to 10:00pm. Pic below. We waited for someone to come to the host stand for approx. 4 minutes (no worries there). When a server came out from the kitchen she said sorry we are closed. I said its 8:34 only. She said yes we close at 9pm and need to clean to be done at 9 but if we want take out is open until 10pm. I asked if I could have head offices number. She said sorry she doesnt have any numbers. Then said just hold on. A minute later someone else came out of kitchen and said Can I help you. I said oh I am just waiting on a number. She said yes can I help you I dont have any number to give just our store number. I said no thats ok. I asked her to confirm that they are store 1737. She said yup. I said ok. Just then 3 other guests came into the restaurant. She immediately told them sorry we are closed. Take out is open. They said the same thing being 8:36 or so at that time. She said ya we dont allow guests past 8:30 so we can close at 9:00. I mentioned the sign actually says 10:00pm. She said well its been 9:00 for two years, they havent changed it yet. Her tone and attitude were rude. If a restaurant closes at 9pm (no more guests) at 8:34 they should be taking guests. Especially since the kitchen is open. Completely dissatisfied.

No wonder people go to other Pickering location and why this one is the unpopular location

My all-time fav restaurant, my favorite is the messy chicken sandwich. My wife takes me every year for my birthday but I do go more on my own lol

You wont find a kinder server anywhere! The food is delicious (the new popcorn shrimp were amazing) and as usual it was a wonderful experience.

My food did not come. It was a standard half chicken meal. We had trouble getting water brought to our table.

Came in with Charlene and had the 20.00. I found a problem with the washrooms and manager fixed it right away. Mina was awesome and helpful. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Has ramp and handicap washroom.

Chicken was unfortunately undercooked and the skin rubbery. It was returned and a new piece which had been placed on the grill was brought to the table. Excellent waitress Mina.

Worst service. Swiss Chalet is doing a really poor job these days. Ordered a family meal with no gravy and minimal support for customer service. This is the second location we ve tried.

So disappointed. Went to this location for a cold beer and dinner. Mrs ordered a Ceasar....they did not have the, quote Condiments. I ordered a Molson beer. Sorry we have none on tap. Ok mrs will have a wine, I will take a glass of Bud lite. Sorry, thats not on tap. Let me check? 30 mins later, sorry would you like a bottle? I cannot belive any manager of this type of organization cannot order or stock items. We left without dinner and went elsewhere. Not a good experience, seeing as this organisation has been around for years...Not happy with Swiss Chalet. I told the waitress to tell her manager we will not be back!!

Weve been going to this location for a long time and always enjoy it, even as the chicken size keeps shrinking. A long-time employee was there and she is the best. Sadly, she was the only one working the busy tables, so she was run off her feet.

Food arrived freezing cold. No skin on chicken. Paid 2 dollars for white meat and got no wing. I would like my money and time back. No quality control. I was looking forward to ordering food for days.

We came out to swiss chalet for dinner, the food was pretty middle of the road quality. The cutlery they originally gave me was dirty(see picture), the floors were very cold(this is on a cold winter day). Probably not going back

6 meals ordered ....$120....and no one was impressed with their food. Either management doesnt care about the quality of the food, or they have absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant Food

Was disappointed in the fries. There were so many tiny pieces the size of hash browns and very soggy. The soup extremely salt and not palatable.

We went there for Dinner, The restaurant needs some updating. It was not clean as well. Spring Roll Appetizer came to us soaking in oil & burnt. The bread bun was a bit dry like it may have been a day old. Our waitress was good & friendly, but overall the quality of food needs much improvement.

Nina is the best! I usually dine on weekend afternoons and shes always there! She works so hard and is so kind to every guest! I feel so welcomed and cared for and the service I receive is fast, accurate, and friendly! The food is always great too! I only want to be served by her!

Jus left this place..when we went in no one was there to greet us..we stood there for 5min . My husband had to go in the kitchen to call some. When they seen him someone shouted someones at the door??!! Really lol. Horrible. We finally sat down ...waited another 7min with not one person coming to the table.. so we got up and left!. Crazy Im not sure whats going on ..will definitely not go back to there not sure how there running there business..BTW it was EMPTY! 3 other tables in the entire restaurant also not one person eating!!! Weird.

This location has a good staff, very professional. Even the delivery drivers are friendly. Kid-friendliness: Kids are always treated well here, colouring sheet, and a toy if desired. Wheelchair accessibility: Double doors are a bit difficult, but the ailes are wide, and bathrooms are cold but clean.

Resturant is dated and dark. Signs of water damage in the dining area, definitely needs an update. Server was good when she was around, and the food was good.

Used to go here frequently. Place is dark and dingy. Seat cushions badly torn. Napkins given looked like someone handled with gravy on hands. Cutlery dirty. Ordered wraps and soup for three people. Wraps were soggy but chicken dry. One of the bowls of soup had no chicken in it and pasta shells in soup had been in there a long time. Even with a coupon it came to nearly $60. Wont be back.

Excessive cost cutting is so evident. Only one server for the whole dining floor. Poor lady was very nice and trying really hard! If owner thinks customers don t notice you being cheap, you are wrong! Get your act together or you will be out of business before you know. I am surely never coming back here, despite being a Swiss chalet fan.

The place was so awfully dirty! Lost all my appetite to eat. Came there right when they opened and I was given dirty dishes with my food and coffee. The floor was filled with old food and garbage at 11:30 am. The waitress drink tray was wet and stained so much with spilled drinks

I havent been dining at Swiss Chalet for more than 4 years. This was before my grandfather died. Anyway, the food was very nice and our waiter, Maria, is a very nice person. She got us anything that we requested such as a salad and rotisserie chicken. At the end, she was nice for me to give me a box to take my dinner home since I had a hockey game going on. Will be back sometime in the future!

The chicken was good as expected and the service was very good.

We ordered the Family Pack+added extra sides on March 4th pick up time @1930. Fries were bad, all three boxes of them mostly had skin more than potatoes. Even my son said it wasn t good, who loves their fries. Cabbage in the Coleslaw seems to be getting bigger and bigger pieces. I used to love their coleslaw but last few times we ordered, the cabbage was cut up in chunks. One part of the chicken was burnt (see the pictures attached) Only best part was the chalet sauce Didn t enjoy the meal tonight at all.

Ive been to a few other Swiss Chalet locations and have to say they are the quickest at getting you your food. Great job guys!

Visited this location at around 6pm on a Friday. The restaurant was dead along with the atmosphere. Our server got the order wrong and once she served the food, she disappeared until it was time for the bill. I have a feeling our food was warmed up in the microwave but I cant prove it. The restaurant had less than 10 customers and she still disappeared. This location has no pulse.

We waited at least 10 minutes to be seated, restaurant only had 2 other tables in it. Waited for over an hour for our food. They forgot 2 of the 4 meals we ordered. All of the tables that came in after us were served first. It was really bizarre. My 8 year old ordered a chicken gravy thing off the kids menu and it was full of tiny bones. It was just an odd experience. She had to send it back and got pizza instead. All in all, the whole experience was frustrating. Spending 2 hours in a Swiss chalet was not fun. We could have had everything delivered quicker. This location has seen better days.

Came for dine in dinner for the first time in ages, after ordering delivery regularly and it exceeded my expectations! The service was the friendliest service I ve had in I don t even know how long. The food was even better hit and fresh in store (not saying delivery isn t delicious or a great option). My partner and I got sangria (honestly amazing sangria) and the two can dine deluxe deal and we were raving about it the entire meal. Our server Sue S was so friendly and our food came out very fast! Would 100% recommend and will be returning to this location. Very nostalgic!

This is a three star review mainly because we ordered take out and two out of the six things we ordered were missing. We did not think to double check our order because they had it completely packed and sealed and the receipt provided by them clearly showed that we ordered the missed items. Once we got home we called them and they said they would either give us a coupon to the restaurant or we would have to drive back and get it. We asked if they would deliver as we live about five mins from the restaurant and they asked us for $15 as a delivery fee. Our food bill was already $60 so we negotiated and I ended up paying the driver $5. The food tasted great. The girl who took our order was also extremely nice. Had this been a dine-in experience, I m sure they would ve paid more attention.

The ladies working at the takeout counter were very kind, helpful and punctual with my take out order. Had a very positive experience.

Waited in the car 50 min for my food pick up..... Horrible curbside pick up service; had to go on to get my food unlike what was advertised. Try a different location. Depends who is working internally if service is good or not. Mina is best.

Saturday night in Swiss Chalet means family night with kids, grandparents and grandchildren. I ordered our usual Quarter Chicken, one with white meat and one with dark meat but both with French Fries. Our waitress was prompt and polite. She served the buns and butters on the side so we ended up having more fries. Opted for water with lemon and since were watching our sugars, no desserts. Parking: This restaurant is surrounded with parking spaces, sharing such with other stores around it. Kid-friendliness: Kids were provided with toys and placemats with fun quizzes for them. There are menus that are kids friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp that goes to the restaurant from the handicap parking.

Slow service, restaurant was rundown. Swiss chalet has really gone downhill.

This location looks like it went downhill and never tried getting back up. The restaurant was dark and very poor lighting. The environment was draining the energy and excitement we had for eating out. There was no milk for the kids, no sprinkles or chocolate syrup for desert. Fries were cold and when returned to the server, the next plate of fries were just as cold. Booster seat was covered in grime and dirt. We had to clean it off ourselves and showed the server how black our baby wipes were and she didn t even acknowledge it. Floors in the Dining room were greasy and slippery. Why hasn t this location been renovated like the rest of them? I will absolutely take my family back to any other Swiss chalet (maybe) but this location is worst than a dump..good luck and I highly recommend to stay away from this grease trap of an establishment. Unless you like greasy dirty places for you and your kids.

Am very disappointed. Went there to buy full rack ribs and chicken soup which was supposed to come with mashed potato. Went back home to find out there was no mashed potatoes, i called and one lady told me to go back to the store and collect. How can take a 30$ uber to go and collect the mashed potato. I called again and another lady promised to send a driver who never came. You just spoiled my thanksgiving

This place needs a major makeover as it feels very outdated, dark and depressing compared to other Swiss Chalets we have been to. We almost walked out but stayed once our server came over. The service was great and the food was just as good and plentiful...but man, I think Id still choose a more updated Swiss Chalet that has the bar area like the one on the West side of Pickering.

I ordered the festive special today and went to pick it up. Upon getting home and opening the meal, there was no cranberry sauce, no sour cream and butter which was showing on the receipt, no scratch ticket and no Lind or chocolate as promised. I found the potato not hot enough to melt my butter, the stuffing was lukewarm. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. In total, it took me 10 minutes to leave home, pickup the order and return home so there was no excuse for lukewarm food. I will not be ordering from this location again.

They really need more staff! The service was extremely slow.

I ordered delivery and noticed in my order confirmation it didnt show my special request. I called the location asap to ensure it didnt get delivered wrong. I spoke to Lauren on the phone. She was very professional, friendly and accommodating. She put me on a brief hold to check with the kitchen and retify the order. Thank you so much Lauren!! Its people like you in the food industry that make all the difference. I hope she and her superiors see this. You were awesome!!!

Just an average restaurant. The take out area is in need a cleaning and renovation

Ordered the festive meal and didn t receive the cranberry sauce, butter and dipping sauce - had to request. We never received the chocolate and scratch cards either. Pretty bad service and so much for the festive meal and the extra money we paid for nothing.

Ordered a coupon 2 can dine deluxe, two quarter chicken diners, both dark meat, One with fries and the other with a baked potato. Baked potato didn t come with the sour cream chives or butter. The order with the fries, absolutely disgusting, the fries were soo oily. The deluxe also comes with pie and appetizer, so we ordered spring rolls, the springs were burnt, and came with no plum sauce. The chicken. Nasty. Didn t even look cooked properly, extremely oily, and we woke up sick in the middle of the night puking and diarrhea. Not the first time we ve been disappointed with this locations nasty food, but it s definitely the last. $40 for disgusting food, missing what you PAID for, only for it to make you sick and have to call out of work. Thanks to the team at this Swiss chalet, your negligence didn t go unnoticed Shame on you, do better.

Its a nice Swiss Chalet, with great staff and a good atmosphere. The food is excellent quality compared to other Swiss Chalets that often overcook or undercook their chicken. The rotisserie chicken here is perfect.

Friendly quick service.

They do not even deserve a star. Went there along family for dinner. Extreme slow service.just get seated by host, that s all. 25 minutes we were sitting without any service , we had 2 babies , therefore end up leaving restaurant. They had max 3 tables I believe; still the lil server showed up extreme busy. I don t recommend this brunch.

Not good at all. Chicken sandwich didnt taste like it. Fries were dark and raw in middle. Beer was completely flat. Swiss duck isnt the way it used to taste.

The worst experience since forever dining at one of the Swiss chalets restaurant. My 3 year old granddaughter had pizza, fries and a Shirley temple. Which she always have. Well on this one visit whatever you guys did to the pizza. She was sick got two days. She could not eat her ice-cream because I had to rush her outside to vomit up all her food. Now she doesnt want to go back to a Swiss chalet ever again. The way her stomach was churning we cannot mention eating out again because she get scared. Im not a happy camper right now.

We ordered from here tonight, first time at this location. Food was as expected, the chicken, fries and sauce very delicious. Will order again for sure. On a side note, I guess it been awhile since our last time having the swiss, but we were pleased to find that the quarter chicken dinners came in paper boxes with well positioned dividers (keeping everything nicely contained). Thankfully the plastic containers which made the food soggy are gone. It reminded me of take away foods before plastic, when food was served in paper, paper bags etc. Good move Swiss Chalet! This is the most basic Swiss Chalet Ive been to. They only have the typical dishes, quarter leg, double leg, etc. They dont have some of the limited time dishes or new dishes that most of the other Swiss Chalets have. Also, I noticed that food is served I different types of containers. For example the chalet sauce came in paper cups and some in ceramic. Some kids drinks came in kids cups and others in regular cups. The kids always get worms n dirt dessert, here they were premade in paper cups and kept in the fridge so the texture of the dessert was totally different. They also didnt have milk for the kids or some juices, only apple. I guess its not a busy location and they try to keep the cost down for certain things. The lady Mina that helped us was great, seemed like she did everything. She was the host that greeted us and sat us, she took our orders, brought our food (with 2 others), took our dishes and took out payment. I saw she did the same for the 5 other tables that were occupied. Kudos to her and for keeping great energy throughout.

My ribs where so tough I couldnt eat them. I only have one arm to pick at them. And usually they come apart real easy (fall off the bone) not this time they where so tough I couldnt eat them. And all my other food got cold while I was trying. I always loved Swiss Chalet but now Im never ordering from there again

Dinner was okay....my salad looked a little tired. If this is the Swiss Chalet at Brock and Kingston Rd, the decor is very worn, dark and depressing. The windows need washing to let in the sunshine. Food was cold.

Came at closing and ordered takeout and the staff was SUPER nice and the meal was hands down the best meal from Swiss Chalet Ive ever eaten

This review is for delivery.. ordered a family meal with spring rolls... Look at the spring rolls. Would you serve these to your dine-in customers? They tasted horrible. The other 2 were also over-done. Also, most of our fries were the small little overcooked and dehydrated ones, like we got all the broken bits at the end of a batch. Do better on takeout Swiss Chalet.

Disappointed - ordered the double leg dinner on Uber eats - the chicken is burnt and can t get through the meal. The fries also do not taste good, they also have a lingering burnt taste as well. If you re in Pickering it might be worth going to the other Swiss chalet on whites road instead.

Fast and friendly service. The food was good, it s what you would expect from Swiss chalet. The prices have gone up with inflation but overall it s decent value for the money you spend

First time at this location. I was greeted with a smile. Ordered take out. Fast and polite. Very good meal. Will be returning. Keep up the good work. Food : 5/5

Disappointed. Ive been to many swiss chalets so dont want to ruin it for the others but this place was just awful. Food was cold and tastless. Felt like i was eating leftovers like they just popped the food in the microwave. It was a red flag when i got there bcs we didnt smell any food actually cooking. More like just heating up old food. The atmosphere wasnt the greatest but better than the food. The washrooms were smelly and dirty and even had a portrait hanging off the wall they tried covering a hole upove the toilet. The washrooms were dark lit probably so that people wouldnt see all the nasty. Even dark it was filthy. But at least it had toilet paper and soap. Im not sure hiw this place is open. Its a shame bcs the front entrance is really cozy like. Service wasnt the greatest but than again you should see the place. not helpful and messed up on orders. I didnt like the fact that they grouped people.together when an entire restaurant had tons of empty tables towards the middle and back. Down 80 dollars but the kids enjoyed the icecream. Dont eat here.

Horrible uncooked food

I ordered the festive beef dinner. The meat was an extremely small and expensive portion of beef fat. It wasnt eat-able. Apparently, thats how it is. Terrible. Order the chicken instead.

An average swiss chalet. Wait staff are pleasant and do their job with efficiency. The food is basic swiss chalet, which is good when you just need something to sustain you after a traumatic day. Food tastes good consistently and not too complicated for a stomachs.

Had a good meal here tonight .. first time in a Swiss Chalet since covid started . Great food ... lots of parking .. close to the 401 .. staff were great.. place was clean and following covid protocols .

Could not go without sharing. I have also shared this with Swiss Chalet directly. 1/Just got home after going with my mom and son. Hot, stale air hit us like a wall when we entered. Seated beside a window, asked server if window could be opened but wasn t possible. After few minutes told her didn t think we d be able to stay. She agreed it was hot and said she d ask if AC could be turned on. Done. Felt much better within about .15mins But the best dessert. Two slices of coconut cream pie. Attached pic says it all. Server said they ran out and smaller one was from Loblaws. She made it right by bringing a normal slice which she said she took from a takeout order. There ll be a surprise for anyone who ordered CC pie takeout when they get home. Unbelievable, but true. UPDATE: Kudos to their Customer Service who responded to me within an hour. They said they ve had a shortage & store bought was a backup for delivery orders when they can t get through to the guests and that it should never have been served in the dining room. Offered 2 complimentary quarter meals.

I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich, every bite was chunks of gristle and bone. It was disgusting. Total rip off. Thankfully there was a lot of fries.

Food is yummy and the amount is really worth the price. Nice ambience. Good customer service.

Never again order from here again as the owner Mike dud not keep his word, I see how he runs his business by lying to the customers, which reflects on his staff and managers.
