Tried based on positive reviews which were misleading. Pad Thai was inedible. Looked like Mr Noodle with a few soggy veggies. Lots of liquid. Spring rolls are quite large but were also soggy, no crunch and completely tasteless. Wasted $50.

Awesome spot for Thai food in Pickering. Tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Both Tom Yum Soup and the Beef green curry were very tasty and flavourful. Also, the host is such a nice, gracious and friendly lady. Will definitely return to try other stuff.

I ordered pad thai for take out, visible ingredients are only noodles and chicken, its like reheated, because the noodles is overcooked and dry. No bean sprout, no other toppings, not even lime.

Update: still delicious! Hot Mama Noi can take my money. Ive had a craving for Thai food for about 3 weeks and was so happy to find this place. I definitely didnt expect it to be this good. The food is delicious and the little boy who took my order did such a good job. He made a mistake and fixed it quickly (we all make mistakes, no harm done). The place is small so take out is recommended. Food is made fresh and quickly. It is not cheap but not expensive - three dishes fed five at my house with us making extra steamed rice for ourselves. Food is not spicy but has a tiny bit of warmth and a ton of flavor (my toddler loved the masaman curry, and my son loved the pad thai). The pad thai is not sweet, thank goodness. New menu in photos. We ate the food before I could take pictures of it. Ill be back very soon.

Very disappointed. The place looks and feels authentic but the food wasn t. I got a pad see ew, it did not taste anything like a pad see ew. The noodles that they used was packaged noodles, the other thai places serve thick rice noodles that is made in-house. Being a Thai food lover I was excited to try this place and am super disappointed.

The lady is super friendly and great at hosting. Stopped by for a quick lunch with my wife and ordered the pad Thai and basil chicken, I thought the pad Thai was good it was fresh and simple I didn t care for the tofu so I had it made without but the basil chicken was pretty tasteless, not sure if it s because it wasn t made super spicy for my wife but there was nothing to it. Will be back for some pad Thai maybe something else but not the basil 3.5

I was spoiled with a great authentic thai restaurant and when I moved to the GTA I was desperate to find something that was up to snuff! After trying many thai restaurants I discovered Hot Mama Nois and it truly lives up to the hype; its authentic, delicious, spicy, and big portion sizes. Highly recommend! Had the Panang curry. Great flavour, beef was very tender - no gristle, veggies were tender-crisp. They made it without fish sauce for me - and it came with rice. Staff were very friendly and it only took about 10-15 mins. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: They were able to make without fish sauce for me , which I very much appreciated.

My husband and I were in the neighbourhood and were craving Thai cuisine. We found this little gem and the food was amazing! So fresh and flavourful. I ordered the chicken Pad Se Eew, and my husband ordered the chicken Pineapple Fried Rice - both were made fresh and the portions were hefty! Definitely recommend this gem if you re ever in the area. Generally the food here is sweet....not authentic. Pad see ew is supposed to be nutty, sour and have a burnt taste......here it was very sweet. Other dishes we ordered were sweet as well.

I didn t feel like cooking so I stopped in for some freshly cooked Thai food. This time I ordered Thai green curry which is a must and spicy basil beef. Both dishes or full to the brim with lots of meat and tasty is anything. They came with a large portion of rice each. We only recently discovered this restaurant recently. Mama NoI is definitely Hot . Her food is on a level of its own. My daughter has special dietary needs and Hot Mama Noi goes above and beyond to ensure that all her needs are met and every morsel is enjoyed. Once you have eaten here no other restaurant would be able to compete with this Thai experience. We are partial to the shrimp dishes.

I Can t comment on the food, as I showed up at 11:12 am, on a Tuesday morning, to try this place out and the door was locked. The time on the door and Google says they open at 11am. A woman was standing by the door sweeping and when I knocked to ask if they were open yet. She just shook her head , turned away and that was the end of it. Too bad since I ve heard great things about the food here. I drove from north Whitby to try it out. If she had even just acknowledged me and said sorry I m running late opening, I ll be ready soon, or whatever the case was, I would have been happy to wait. Not good customer service and I don t plan on driving all the way over there again.

This place is the ultimate Thai hole in the wall! It doesnt look like much, its very small inside, and I dont even know if they have a drink menu other than water, but the food was 10/10 amazing! I grew up in the restaurant business, and from that experience was so tickled that my server was a 12 year old boy. Its a great learning experience for him, and I think the customers will appreciate how seriously this family takes things. Cannot wait to order from here again!

The food was decent but the service was abysmal. It was a kid in the counter and the phone, that couldn t respond to my questions ( wanted to know why I was charged 25$ for a chicken and shrimp Pad Thai). He was on his cellular device and didn t seem to care. This was my first time and most probably my last. A shame considering the food was not bad

This dining place is small but comfortable. Clean and organized. The owner is very friendly and their service is superb. The food is beyond my expectations, its very delicious and tasty. Their masaman curry and pineapple fried rice is really great. Their pad see ew is beyond word and their mango chicken is wow. I highly recommend this little restaurant with big taste. I ordered some food yesterday when I got there she gave me someone elses order and then I checked and she gave me my order. Pricing is all over the place and there was no menu. Food was definitely not what I expected and sweet. I had ordered the Pad See Wee with Beef. I would not go back for sure.

REVIEW YOUR BILL BREAKDOWN! WAS CHARGED EXTRA $1 for NO REASON. We ordered a simple take out for two (2 pad thai) and noticed there was $1 charge but no utensils/napkins was provided. Aside from this mysterious extra charge, pad thai was bland and the portion is small for the cost of $15. Way better options out there for that price.

Ive been coming to this excellent Thai Restaurant for years. Mama Noi is an excellent cook. They consistently serve the best Thai food Ive ever eaten in my many years on this planet! They are very friendly and you cant go wrong with anything on their menu. My favourite is the Spicy basil chicken! Very highly recommended!

Very tasty Thai food made while you wait. Spicy Basil Chicken or Beef or Green Curry is highly recommended. A little on the pricey side. There are a few tables for eating in as well. So good! Was not expecting the best pad thai Ive ever had to be in Pickering. Shrimp was huge, sauce is not overly sweet and that hot sauce is something else. Spring rolls are huge, but I could do without.

The spring rolls here are huge and excellent The Hot Mama serves up some great food at good prices, although better for take-out, because the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a place sandwiched between the Go Train Station and Service Ontario. Salut, Mother Noi! You do a great job!

They charged price $7 more without any notice until they got payment from me. When I asked explanation about $7 difference, they said they increased the price. Menu board infront of cash register didnt updated price same as website. I doubt that they charged extra price because I visited there for the first time. (Cheated) If price was increased but no update menu board, they should have explaned to customer before get payment. No apology until I complained direct to them. They also charged Soft drink what I didnt even ordered. The worst impression through horrible guest experience even though food was fair enough taste. Strongly recommend you guys to watch out your bills before submit payment.

Had takeout the other day. We have eaten in here before and it was great! The takeout was not. We ordered chicken pad Thai, Thai Basel chicken, and Thai red curry with chicken. The Thai red curry was fine. Chicken was a little hard and rubbery. The pad Thai was terrible! The noodles were over cooked and it was pretty much a giant clump on noodles. Taste was not good either. The Thai Basel chicken tasted good but the chicken was sooo over cooked! It was terribly hard. Expensive, small portions, not quality.

Greeted by a 9 yr old, verging on rude customer service (cant blame him for his parents). Ordered soup and asked for some noodles in soup, paid extra.. that was ok by me. Hardly any broth to SOUP, mostly noodles. Mushrooms were squishy lumpy and past fresh point. Too much coconut milk in broth and was very unpalatable. Tried to eat it as it cost me $17 but it was so far off the mark that I tossed this lumpy noodle mess. Would not go back

Had the coconut milk thai chicken noodle soup. Barely any broth, mushrooms were old and squisgytoo much coconut milk. Price just under $17.Front order staff is a rude 9 yr old without cutomer service skills. Wont be back, dont recommend going here. I came into the restaurant and waited for my food order. Ps. My husband died unexpectedly recently and this was my 1st/last time going to your restaurant. You need to check yourself and send that child to school. His English and social skills are suffering because of it. I included photos to prove you use stale vegetables. You have made so many assumptions about my experience. This reflects poorly in your ability to accept feedback anf business model

New tenant a few units away from this restaurant. First time trying this place and it was very good. I ordered the chicken pad thai to go. Portion was quite generous. Had a quick chat with the owner run by a grandma by herself. Owner was also watching her grandson home school at the same time. Will be back to try other items on the menu.

I came here hoping to try some local Thai food in Pickering. The place is located in the commercial plaza beside Pickering Go station. When we walked in there were was no tables setup. Just takeout. There was a young boy who came to the front cashier to take my order. We asked the owner for suggestions on what to order and she said everything is good and couldnt suggest a dish for us. Oh well... We ended up ordering red curry chicken and pad see eew with beef. The total came up to $30 approx. The young boy didnt really have good customer service skills and I told him I wanted number 4 on the menu and he replied back I know. I didnt take any offense and kept an open mind. We were looking forward to trying the food as the owner said the food is really good. The red curry was aromatic and rich. I was surprised there wasnt any spice level nor did she ask if we wanted it spicy or mild. Would have like more chicken in the serving but there was bambo shoots, long green beans, red peppers, and potato. The pad see eew was cooked fresh to order. The dish consists of wide rice noodles, beef flank bok choy and broccoli. This really hit the spot although the presentation was not the greatest. Some things to note. The menu had the prices blacked out so we were at the mercy of the owner who could set any price. Please update your menus so your customers know how much they are spending. If you want some decent Thai food give them a try. Just be ready to order as they wont really help you with the menu. Maybe it was an off day but the owner wasnt really in the mood to talk to us nor greet us after walking in. Small improvements can go a long way. I will come back and try something else but hopefully the service improves.

What a gem this place is for authentic, Thai flavours! I ordered tom yum soup, spicy basil (with chicken) and of course, the cult favourite spring rolls. You can tell everything is made fresh in house and with a lot of love! They even sell homemade hot sauce and ginger sauce definitely a must try for all foodies.

Very good food but the customer service for take out in particular is horrendous; prepare to be talked to sharply - I wouldnt say yelled at - but close to it. Twice now its happened - I dont expect white glove service but I cant stomach being given attitude over basic questions, no matter what Im buying. Life is tough as it is.

Amazing food and extremely flavourful. They use fresh ingredients every day and you can taste it. Ordered for an office of 15 people and everyone loved it! Pad Thai is good...but no cilantro, no lime and they don t ask if you want it mild, medium or hot. Portion size is good, noodles are cooked right, the chicken is flavoured very nice. Still haven t found as good as Bankok Thai in Toronto...or even close. Too much work to make it myself..but I just might have to.....

Food was pretty good, however the customer service was absolutely terrible. Person was rude both on the phone and in person when picking up. Didnt understand our order and then made us purchase a third dish and stated that it was our fault that she didnt understand. Too bad as the place came highly recommended. Wow! Best Thai food in Pickering/Ajax. Ordered spring rolls, chicken pad thai, cashew chicken and tom yam soup. A single order of spring rolls is 4 full rolls and they are large! Filling is a nice mixture and the dipping sauce is a nice balance. Both chicken dishes had nice flavor and mix of ingredients. The soup was really good and impressed with the takeout container being much larger thanIm used too. Overall a great experience.

Total money grab!! Ordered a tom yum soup what a rip off. When I went there they had a small sign saying all menu items 1.50$ more. Then they charged me 1$ for hot sauce without informing me. Ended up paying 18$ for a small soup. The soup was average. Not worth it. Toronto got way more reasonable spots.

Delicious!! I have tried alot of Thai restaurants. Hot Mama Nois is by far the best Thai food I have ever tasted. It is so fresh and colourful. The spring rolls were huge. Mama Nois you have me hooked!! Thank you for the beautiful dinner.

Best Thai food in Pickering, hands down. Really flavourful curries without being too heavy.

Ordered for my birthday and it was delicious. We ordered the green curry, spring rolls (which are huge), cashew chicken, beef panang curry and mango salad (the mango was perfect!) The food was ready for pick up at the requested time. The salad was packaged separate to keep it cool. This will be my go to place for Thai food going forward ...hands down.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant many times and will continue to frequent them. Food is delicious and portion sizes are good, takeout containers are always full to the top. One container usually lasts me 2 meals. However it is a little pricier than some places. Our go to are the pad see ew and the pad Thai. Customer service is very good as well. Highly recommended.

I used to love the food here but theres a continual trend of blander taste and worsening attitude. Time hasnt treated this place well. The pad thai I used to love isnt anywhere near what it used to be. Owner double parked in front, ten year old running the cash and phone, and dry bland pad thai. I cant support this place any longer.

My first visit 10/13/2021. I ordered the veggie Pad Thai. I was so hungry after waiting in the service Canada line, I decided to try this place, because I enjoy Thai food. When I came home and tasted it, all I could taste was sugar. It was so sweet I instantly got a headache. There was hardly any veggies in the plate, literally 4 pieces of broccoli a bunch of carrots and nothing else. I also said to her no eggs, and I got eggs. I asked for spicy and no spice was added. Why is there SUGAR added to your food? I don t consume much sugar, so I could taste it right away. I am very disappointed. I have to throw it out. $13.56 is now wasted. Authentic Thai food does not have sugar from my experience, this is a health issue. You also have a sign saying your price was increased by $1.00, due to food cost, but I got more noodles than veggies. I am very disappointed, and trying to now get my sugar levels balanced. I tried calling the restaurant, but no one answered. I will not be visiting y all again.

Omg this is what I was looking for money than a year now.. finally found one.. Thailands authentic food... but if u r rush to eat thus is not the place... but if you want the thai food this is the only place in toronto I can say... Mama is super friendly and good caring.. please dont rush her.. worth waiting..

More like meh mama Noi I decided to check this place out because of high recommendations and reviews. Big mistake. The price of $11.95 a dish was high given the quantity and quality. I ordered the chicken pad thai, and the cashew chicken. The chicken pad thai was average, but nothing to rave about. The chicken cashew was a huge disappointment. Minimal chicken, and mostly sauce and vegetables. For a second I thought they ordered me chicken soup instead. Overall a huge let down and I will be weary of trying asian places in Durham. The ratings are overly positive because of lack of competition.

Reliably good Thai food. The ingredients are always fresh The owner often runs the counter and she is quite the lady! Love this place. I eat here everytime I work in Pickering.

Nice food, homemade, they are so nice, great attitude, delicious, food, I recommend the spring rolls and noodles with chicken and mango.

It s mandatory you try the crispy Thai spring rolls (made fresh) and dip them in the brown ginger sauce, yummy! Pad Thai and Green Curry are also on point. The squash in the green curry will make your tastebuds jump for joy. 5 stars for my favourite Thai restaurant!

Reading the reviews I had high hopes for a great Thai place in Durham. Seeing the owner and chef was from Thailand was also reassuring. But unfortunately it wasnt as great as we expected. The Pad Thai had an odd smokey flavour rather than your usual tamirand flavour. It also tasted a bit rubbery. The Green Curry was delicious though and was filled with many mixed vegetables which we liked. The spring rolls were massive in size but also lacking in flavour. I think if we purchase from here again wed stick with the curries and the fried rice. It seems like only Scarborough or Toronto have great Pad Thai, like from Jatujak.

Great portions, authentic homestyle cooking, friendly staff and amazing house-made hot sauce and ginger sauce. Jars of their sauces available occasionally. Best Thai in Durham.

Hot Mama Nois is excellent. This is the best Thai in Durham and the only place east of Toronto that holds up to the likes of Pai or Khao San Road. Highlights are the Green Curry, Panang Curry, and Cashew Nut Chicken.
