Visited a few breweries in the area over the past couple of days and this wasn t a favourite. Great view and staff. Beer and food need some work, especially the sour which tasted as though it had spoiled/turned. (We are aware of sour production from when we owned, and despite how it is made this flavour was not a result of the aging process).

Great beer. Good quesadilla...avoid tacos, they were similar to old elpaso tacos, flies on them and really not worth the price for what it is. Wonderful sunset views and pleasant staff

Slake Brewing is a very special place in PEC. The taproom is built on the most beautiful location up on top of a high limestone hill, with a spectacular view overlooking the countryside and big sky. The taproom itself is a stunningly designed building with panoramic windows, and the patio area is expansive with a variety of seating arrangements to choose from that will suit different needs - younger and older, families and singles, humans and dogs, those seeking community or solitude, can all enjoy and feel comfortable in the space. Beyond the beauty of the place are the people who work at Slakes. My mom and I visited it for the first time during our first night in PEC this past Wednesday, and it happened to be the evening of their monthly pig roast. There was a large number of people and very busy, and yet we were treated with so much care, consideration, and attentiveness, as if we were the only ones when being served. Specifically, the gentleman at the taproom graciously introduced my mom to a few different beers, offered her samples, taking the time to explain everything. He even kindly offered us water without being asked. My mom loved her beer, even though we are not usually beer drinkers, she thought it was absolutely delicious. On top of this, the tacos and elote (Mexican roasted corn on the cob) was sooo yummy, and again, the people making and serving the food were similarly kind and attentive. Slake Brewing is a gem, and we were so glad it was the first place we visited in PEC, making our trip to the County so memorable and special. We hope to come back and introduce friends and family to this special place. Thank you, Slake Brewing, for giving us such a warm welcome!

Very nice place with a wonderful view. Near the beach and the park. Very good fruity style beers.

A diverse selection of well crafted beers in an elevated rural setting. Breathtaking views, and delicious brews. The fruited sours and wine hybrids are particularly noteworthy. Pet Friendly with significant outdoor seating. Highly recommended.

What to find. Come see Jordan. She s sweet as pie and will take great care of you. It reminds me of the La Ferme brewery in the Eastern cantons.

My wife and I really enjoyed our trip to Slake Brewing. The location is beautiful in the winter on the Hill. Nice view. The Slake staff were friendly, inviting, and really great to talk with. Great beers and really cool artwork as well. Will return in the summer! Cheers! Went back recently. Great tacos too! Staff and view still excellent!

This is by far the most scenic new brewery in PEC. The beer is fantastic if you are a craft beer lover. Will definitely go back again. September Sunsets are the best.

I was on a solo day trip to PEC from Oshawa and decided to check this place out. Got lots of reading done outdoors. Very welcoming, beautiful views, and great beer! I ll have to go back if I m ever in the area again :)

Going to breweries as a non-drinker can suck, but this place was really great. Incredible view and good music. The melon fizzy water and Bellwoods NAIPA were both sooo good. Little pricy and the food was eh, but aside from that I loved it and would def go back.

This brewery offers great beers and a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for hanging out and relaxing with friends. The service is friendly, and I highly recommend checking it out. Will definitely be back.

Slake is in such a picturesque location only a few minutes from Picton. Really awesome beer! Recommend slow slow but all the beers are terrific. Simple food but good quality. Knowledgeable staff and so friendly

Great atmosphere and good selection of beer in tap. I didnt try the tacos but they looked amazing! Umbrellas for the outdoor patios would help with lack of shade, and we really would have liked to try a flight of beer, but that wasnt available.

Stunning views, never feels crowded even on the busiest days, crisp beer. A real hit. Most recently we got some splinters sitting at the picnic tables, they could use sanding, but that is truly the only critique!

An unforgettable evening with a breathtaking sunset. I was pleasantly surprised by the unusual side of their products. Its good, and its funky as hell. The taco corner is also extraordinary and the service is super friendly and welcoming. Thanks to Cat and Eric for the great evening!

You are a brewery in 2024 in a touristy region. You should have flights. Disappointed

One of my favourites in PEC. Not only is it beautiful with scenic views overlooking all of PEC, including the lake, but the beer is great. They have a refreshing assortment of beers that always hit the spot. The inhouse taco shop is also tasty. My only critique is that they should award those who can cycle up the hill with a complimentary pint!

Not far from Prince Edward County is this hillside brewery of delicious brews. I highly recommend the Long Sleeve Amber Ale, either in-store or as take-away. You wont be disappointed. They also have a fantastic Mosey Pilsner which I got to try at The Hayloft Dancehall. Outstanding! Within the walls youll also find Rebel Taco, so if you want a quick bite to eat, theyve got you covered. The views. The brews. Definitely add to your dos. You wont regret it.

The most magical spot!! My boyfriend & I visit Slake every time we travel to Prince Edward County. The beers are fantastic and the location is absolutely stunning!

Pilsner beer was perfect along with tacos we had. Unfortunately time did not allow us to stay for the pig roast. View from the patio was superb

2024 March: Location is nice. Cool spot. I paid $18.00 for two small tacos from one of those prepackaged taco boxes I could have bought myself at the grocery store. Like I literally watched him pull them out of the box. The regular chef might have had the night off. I am willing to give this place another try on another night out. Maybe kitchen staff will be different then. .

Lovely brewery in PEC. went with some friends over a birthday weekend. They have tex mex food options and plenty of beers. I loved the IPAs and the view over the farm is cute and rustic. Would definitely go back and would be an excellent place to view the sunset.

Went to Slake for the solar eclipse. What a wonderful spot they ve created. The interior is gorgeous, and there s plenty of outdoor space with an amazing view. The beer is excellent too. Can t wait to go back!

Great spot - especially in summer with their incredible outdoor space. But the drive up is magical on their winding driveway and then you can over look the county - fab view. The barn right in front also has goats in the summer. Great spot to catch a sunset.

Still my fav PEC brewery. Great selection and the best view in PEC next to Lake on the Mountain. The fireplace adds an amazing ambiance for a cooler day. Staff are nice, but not animated, if you are looking for that. Great place to relax and unwind.

This is definitely our favourite brewery in Prince Edward County. Awesome location, very friendly staff, lots of space for dogs and kids, and every beer was fantastic. Lots of variety for all tastes plus really cool non-alcoholic options like local craft soda and other craft breweries non-alcoholic beers.

Slake came highly recommended as a place to visit in PEC, and although the location is beautiful and the beer is great, we were underwhelmed and disappointed by the very expensive old el paso tacos we got. I should have read the reviews. Would definitely recommend just coming for the beer and views.

Had an amazing time , the drinks are fab ! We went on a day they had a vegan vendor for food options. Me and my gf got korean bbq cauliflower wings and they tasted soooo good. The atmosphere is a really great vibe, especially with the out door patio set up and the corn hole games. Will be going again for sure ! Would like to say thanks to Greg and all the staff for a great experience.

We visited Slake Brewery for a bachelorette party. Greg and his team went above and beyond for us as they provided a wonderful and informative tour/tasting for us. The views, the beer and the service is amazing! Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend this brewery. The installation is beautiful and the beers are amazing (especially the grape ale pinot noir). We went twice during our vacation. Great spot to watch the sunset.

Beautiful dog friendly brewery with the best tacos ever (we got 8 tacos for 2 with 3 varieties). Beers selection was good. They have such a serene view on their patio with 6-7 table and many picnic table across the grass field.

Popped in on way home from Sandbanks. After visiting, this brewery shouldn t be an after thought but a planned visit on your agenda. Incredible elevated views of PEC. Incredible modern facility with the brew house down below and the tasting room/restaurant up top. Outside is amazing too such a perfect atmosphere. I grabbed some brew and a glass to go this time but will visit again and spend a lot more time here!

Brewery hidden in the hills. I would have to echo some of the other reviews that mentioned that its truly a gem. Up high with a great atmosphere. Many different easting options and beautiful inside and out. Great vibes, vibrant colours, cool merch, and corn hole Swing is a great beer able to convert the boldest of non-beer drinkers

This microphone is a real gem. Located high up, the view is incredible (we didnt have the chance to see a sunset, because it was cloudy, but it must be beautiful!) Super nice place, excellent beers, not forgetting the taco restaurant; a perfect evening. To put in your places to visit.

We ve been meaning to visit since we first heard about Slake, we live 20 minutes away (I know! It s shameful..lol). Anyways, we finally made it today and we were not disappointed. Great staff, beer and food. And what an incredible view! Must go back for a fall sunset!

Initially we questioned where our GPS was taking us and where the windy gravel road was leading but once we arrived it is a gem in the County. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable in their recommendations. I am not a beer drinker but my husband thoroughly enjoyed their beer. The food was excellent but the view and vibe is what will bring us back. Relaxed and the view is incredible. You feel like you are in the middle of no where - because you are. Highly recommend.

Takes some getting to, but once you reach there, the brewery offers stunning views, great beers and lovely tacos. All staff we interacted with were friendly, definitely highly recommended. Nice selection of beers at the bottle shop as well, the ones you dont find at the LCBO

A little difficult to find off a very windy road to a nice fireplace heated hidden gem. Great selection of specialty beer and sodas. Great views through huge windows to fields and farmland and large seated area outside which I cannot rate during colder weather yet.

favourite place to grab a beer in The County.

This was undoubtedly the highlight of our Prince Edward County breweries, with a mysterious, twisting and pitted gravel lane leading us up, up, up to an unpretentious parking lot - but dont let that fool you. This place is something to write home about. Some wonderful, crisp, clean beers with a wide variety to choose from and incredible ambience. Add to that staff who are clearly invested in making sure you have a good experience - including an owner bussing tables - means you feel like you are wanted here. I recommend a sunny evening to catch a special sunset view from their pagodas with a cold Tasty beer - well be back (and we took a couple of flats home with us...) Top notch.

What a view! Great selection of beers, something for everyone, loved the Mosey and Hatch, but one of the staff, Greg I think was his name, walked us through the entire menu. Gave us some insight on some of their new brews. Delightful experience overall.

Friendly relaxed atmosphere. And the view is incredible! We could pick out all the silos and guess which farms they were on! I am not a beer fan but the water is good and I was the designated driver after all.

What a view! When you walk through the doors the large windows are showstopping. We enjoyed a beer on a Saturday afternoon. Would have loved food options or some lawn games! But would highly recommend for drinks and a view.

I visited Slake Brewing while in PEC on business after seeing them listed on Google as a brewery to stop by. The view from the top of the hill where the brewery is located is spectacular and the large windows in the building mean you can enjoy it no matter what the weather. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating space where you can enjoy the view with a cold beer in hand. They also offer a small selection of foods to eat if you are hungry. I really enjoyed the beer and would definitely buy from Slake again. If you are in PEC and visiting breweries, I would absolutely suggest visiting here!

Confused by the 4.8 star rating as this was the worst stop on our amazing tour in PEC. Food was late as staff admitted they were too busy gossiping in the kitchen, poor customer service despite us being the only group there, premises had a bad sewerage smell and lots of waste in view from the patio as well as staff members sucking popsicles opposed to thanking us for our payments

Unfortunately, had a horrible experience here. Staff were extremely rude. They did not give us any indication or explanation of the drinks that we were buying when we expected this to be an educational tour. We also assumed there would be flights to give us a chance to try the different drinks that they offered. We were excited about this, but were never offered this opportunity. Truly upset that we couldn t have had a better experience. They didn t even mention the viewing window into their downstairs brewery. Wished we had a better experience.

Absolutely beautiful setting, been there twice right before the sun starts the set, and its simply amazing with the view. Great selection of beers with choices including sours, lighter beers as well as hazier ones. Always nice to go for a visit and relax Update a year later: still fantastic with the friendliest calming staff around, and today sheep were in the upper field haha. Loving the new food popups they had all summer, and today had double breakfast during brunch popup

A near magical experience. Tucked away on its hilltop, Slake delivers an unbeatable panoramic view of the sunset, and gives such a unique, tranquil vibe. Great brews on tap with great service.

Beautiful views at Slake (picture says it all). Beer was tasty, atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was a tad on the expensive side considering its just a pre-made snack box. I wouldnt recommend going here for dinner. I had incorrect impressions on their food so I wont deduct a star for that. Bartender was chatty and personable. Will definitely go back next time!

Haven t experienced a sunset here yet, but hope to in the near future. Our first time here was during a big rain storm in the summer, so we didn t get to enjoy the outdoor picnic bench area as much as we d hoped. The branding is SO SO GOOD (I d hire whoever did your branding for my own company). Awesome beers. Gorgeous brewery. I will be back.

Just left the business a few min after 6pm. Did not make my purchase due to the rude service from the woman at the counter. My husband and I walked in to the store and saw that she was speaking to another customer so we went to look at the beer fridge off to the left of the bar. We selected a six pack of this beer called ember and she was at the counter without any customers we were the only people in the store. I asked if there was any beer that they sold that was Hoppy. She mentioned a beer but she said they only had four cans and didn t elaborate as to whether it could be purchased as singles. Two men walked in, she ignored us completely and immediately started talking to them. I wasn t able to really ask any more questions or ask her even to bring out the beers that she had mentioned. It s not easy to get to this business it s a winding drive on a dirt road and I was recommended to visit this business by another brewery in the area. I have to say I m pretty surprised how quickly she disregarded myself and my spouse, even if she knew the customers that just arrived she completely stop speaking to us and was attending them. I m a woman of color and I ve experienced this before in this region, I have to say this left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be recommending any of my POC friends to visit this brewery. I m not a tourist I live in the area.

I ve had (and loved) Slake s beer a number of times via some craft beer bars in Hamilton, and my first visit to their brewery in PEC kicked things up multiple notches. Their massive facility and beergarden are located on a farm at the end of a winding road; a gorgeous spot to hang out for a few hours. Better still, the beer is exceptional, with some offerings holding their own as some of Ontario s stronger examples of their respective styles. Branding is top-notch, the staff are warm and friendly, and I left with numerous take-home cans in hand and zero complaints. Go go go.

I have been seeking out Slakes offerings in Toronto ever since I stumbled upon a 3.5% ABV beer called Yellow Flowers that had a ton of complexity and body despite its low-alcohol content - a huge draw for me. After poring over the pop-up retail shops in Toronto and trying everything I could, I decided to visit the brewery and planned a trip to Prince Edward County around it. Everything was perfect about the visit: its an interesting, modern building atop a hill in a beautiful, relaxing, pastoral landscape with sunsets that live up to and exceed the hype of the reviews; the staff were kind and helpful, even asking a brewer to come chat with me to better answer a question; the beer was all top-notch and a treat to taste fresh, including an option that was only available at the brewery; and the food options, while not the focus of the business, were delicious. We visited twice while on the trip, which was easy because it is very close to Sandbanks - perfect way to cap off a day of hiking or beach hangs. I also realized it is possible to have beer shipped directly from the brewery to Toronto, and is more cost-effective than going to retail shops here. I recently tried this out for the first time and, when a SNAFU arose that was completely my own error, Eric from the brewery was extremely helpful in resolving it. I was very moved by the lengths he went in providing customer service. Will definitely be ordering again, and also planning another visit!

I wish they had better signs leading upto the place. Ride all the way up on the hill and you will reach the parking. Great spot and great views. Liked their Kambucha and the beer was great.

Great view relaxing atmosphere

Such tasty beer! We absolutely love carrying their product at our bar, and guests never have enough good things to say!

Interesting beer with great views

My go to spot for amazing views, delicious beer and a welcoming brewery in PEC. We happened upon this amazing place during the summer, and have returned any chance we got! Would recommend to all looking for a unique and one of a kind brewery experience in the area.
