Luso Bites is our favourite spot to eat at when we re in the County. It never disappoints. The food is delicious. True authentic Portuguese food! The staff are always so kind and the owner does his rounds to check in on customers to see how food and service is going. Food taste and presentation is always consistent. We recommend this place to everyone!

Portuguese food, breakfast and brunch. The food was very good, delicious in fact. It was presented in an attractive manner, and the flavours were a reminder of a trip to Portugal we d taken several years ago. It was served hot, from the kitchen window to the exterior deck we chose to sit on. It came in a very timely manner, not a long wait. Ordering takes place in a line up, which I found to be a nice but of anticipation,and opportunity to consider my choice. Access to the menu could be improved, but otherwise our experience was very pleasant and we will definitely be back again.

The French toast in the morning is awesome as is the breakfast sandwich. Get the egg slightly runny. The owners are extremely hard-working and friendly. Nice to have this quality option in the County.

The French toast looked amazing too. We will be back! Kid-friendliness: The grilled cheese uses some pretty strong cheese, had a bit too much bite for our usually adventurous 8yo. Maybe ask if they have a more basic cheese substitute if yours is anything like ours.

My wife and I have been wanting to visit Luso Bites for a few years but they are not located near us. Well last week we were finally in the area and able to try it out and it was wonderful! Loved the way it was decorated with small reminders of Portuguese details like the rooster, decorative tiles and the classic voice of Amalia Rodrigues playing over the speakers. My wife and I had the fried chicken sandwich and caldo verde soup that were both excellent especially on a rainy day. The Portuguese custard tarts were perfect finish for our visit. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, 100% we plan to return!

Insanely tasty. Cannot say enough good things about this place! Extremely nice & accommodating. Visiting from out of town on a Sunday and had an incredible experience. The sandwhiches are next level deliciousness! Highly highly recommend! Steve is the owner and incredibly kind & welcoming. Try it out when you are in town!

The good food was overshadowed by the rude owner or manager who was not only extremely rude to me but short with his staff and barking orders. He obviously doesn t know how to handle stress well during a busy rush. When I was trying to pay for my order the machine said insert card so I did . the owner said you inserted too soon and looked extremely annoyed and said just pay later. When I left to wait outside he told my friends (not realizing that I knew them) that the girl screwed up/broke the machine. I then went back in to pay cash and again he looked annoyed and said I don t even know how much your order is right now. Terrible experience.

Amazing food made with love. The cod fritters and dip were incredibly tasty, yet werent heavy. The breakfast sandwich was flavourful (and I love how they asked if I wanted the egg runny or hard). Somehow, I liked the tuna salad when Im normally not fan of salads. The dressing wasnt overpowering and there was a great mix of textures. Would gladly go back again and try other dishes.

I got the breakfast plate which came with crispy potatoes, sausages, two fried eggs, toast and a lovely, creamy cheese. I wish they gave me more of that cheese! Great flavour and huge portions. Sadly, they didnt have any pastel de nata.

I wasnt expecting a Portuguese restaurant in Picton. This place is wonderful. I should have taken some pictures. I had a dish with peas in it that I thought would be mushy and it was very good and not mushy. Great addition for a lunch time experience in the county and breakfast too

Didnt get to try the food, but the attitude of the lady taking the orders rubbed us the wrong way. Indoor seating was vacant. There were perhaps 3-4 tables that were waiting for food on the patio. We were last in line to place our order. As soon as we got to the cash register to place our orders, the lady abruptly informed us that she wont be able to take our orders for atleast 10 minutes and hinted that it could be a longer wait just to place the order. Maybe we misread the situation and she was just flustered with a bunch of orders but to stop taking orders when it was our turn and to somewhat rudely hint that shes too occupied to take our orders is not good customer service.

Everything we ve had from Luso has been amazing, but the breakfast especially has a special place in my heart. Every part of it is perfect.

The place is an order at counter and seat youself type place. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and patient! Its really family friendly and has a kids option too. The food was delicious!! (Im sorry, I can remember the exact names of the food) Apply rhubarb, ricotta french toast - it wasnt too sweet, which was great! Its creamy from the smooth ricotta and went perfectly with the french toast! Surf and turf eggs benny - I believe it had charizo with a cod cake topped with the classic poached eggs and hollandaise sauce - the code cakes were really good! Loaded breakfast with black pudding sausage as choice in protein - that black pudding sausage was amazing! Im going to have to go get more of that!! Pea and charizo stew - the tomato based stew has some amazing spices that give a really nice depth in flavours. Its really good and the brioche bread was perfect for dipping! Kids grilled cheese was very well enjoyed by my kids! They absolutely loved the cheese pulls they got from it!! Of course, you cant forget the custard tarts! The crust is flaky and buttery with the soft, gooey silky custard in the middle! We have to go back again and try some more things! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with great kids options!

Always enjoy coming here to enjoy breakfast after a good walk with the girlfriend and the dogs.

Hidden gem of PEC, a must-visit!

I cannot comment on the food because I chose to leave due to the owners rude attitude before I was even able to order. It was my first time in the restaurant and I was looking around for a menu and wanted to see the drinks on display before I ordered. He rudely told me to step back from the counter, which I did. He then told me I had to stand behind the line on the floor with the same annoyed tone, at which point I left. Im not giving money to someone who treats his customers like cattle. I didnt say a single word to him in the maybe 60 seconds I was in there so there was absolutely no reason for him to be upset with me. Im a local so Ill definitely let my friends know not to bother with this restaurant.

Went for a quick lunch - we tried the fried chicken sandwich, pork cutlet sandwich, sausage croquettes, french toast and natats (and an iced latte). Everything was well prepared with nice/unique flavourings, unique but delicious. Will go again.

Great breakfast & service ! Loved it

Second time visiting Luso Bites. Food was excellent. Service was pretty slow but we were in no rush. A gentleman working (I m assuming owner or manager) was very loud and quiet rude to the other staff members. Disappointed in the ambiance as we had to listen to him talk down to the staff almost the whole time we were there (close to an hour.)

Every meal was delicious. We got the all day breakfast sandwich (5/5) , deluxe bifana (5/5) and tosta mista (10/5 - toddler approved). We also tried the salt cod fritters and sausage croquettes and both were out of this world delicious. Finished up with the custard tart and chocolate mouse. Great restaurant and great customer service!

Luso Bites is the best! We had the breakfast plate and the breakfast sandwich. Both were seasoned to perfection. I loved the selection of various Portuguese food items that you may not have seen before. Always fun to try something new. I opted for the alheira with my breakfast plate, which were these sausages made with pork and chicken, cooked nice and crispy. So good! Definitely check it out if you re in Picton, the owner Steven is running the show beautifully.

A gem tucked away in the lower level of the Picton Armoury. Delicious, hearty meals with a Portuguese flair. The avocado toast with salt cod with a perfectly poached egg will have you craving more even after you are full. The Pao Dourado is so decadent. The custard will have your eyes rolling into the back of your head in extasy. This is a must experience. The value here is exceptional. You won t be disappointed.

Luso Bites is a delicious gem. As someone who is Portuguese, their food was authentic and my mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There were non Portuguese people sitting not far from us also raving about the food, so definitely dont be intimidated by trying something new :) Parking: Free parking lot is available at the back of the building (not on main street).

Deleicious breakfast. Ordered the breakfast plate with Chouriço. Other parties had the Morcela(blood and rice sausage) and the Alheira (smoked chicken and bread sausage). I hesitated to order them as I mistakenly assumed they might not be as good. I was disabused of that notion. All our meals were fantastic. We will be returning probably tomorrow. Highly recommend. Best breakfast in Picton. Tucked away in the Armoury, Luso Bites serves generous portions of carefully prepared Portuguese meals. Breakfast is a standout- enjoyed sourdough toast with quince marmalade, egg-cellent salt cod/avocado with hollandaise and crispy, well seasoned potatoes. Espresso drinks and perfect pasteis de nata.

Highly recommend! They have a brunch menu and several great lunch options.

Great find in Picton. Delicious food with friendly service. Absolutely coming back for breakfast tomorrow. So we came back for breakfast and it did not disappoint. My friend and I found this little hidden gem by walking around in downtown Picton. What an excellent surprise! I ordered the All Day Breakfast sandwich and it was so delicious!! My friend ordered the tuna sandwich with a salad. Affordable prices and really friendly staff!!

Just keep going...keep on keepn on...down the stairs, yep, and BAM! Well worth the we detour off the main drag. Wonderful atmosphere, crazy friendly staff, matched up with incredible food.
