The food was really good had Pork schnitzel it was sooo good. The service was excellent. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.
Thursday night NFL at Coaches! Once again Coaches was great. They have good domestic beer on tap and local pints in cans! Perfect. It's a great place to meet up with friends and make new friends. The staff are awesome. Thanks again.
Great food, great service and atmosphere. Drove down from Brighton, and on route had got something in my eye. The waitress noticed i was rubbing it and brought me over a baggie of ice and it did the trick! The food was so yummy and huge portions!! We will be back!
This is my first time eating here since the renovations. Wow! I had a cheeseburger, made with real beef and sweet potato fries. The side of sauce for the sweet potato fries was amazing as well! I can’t wait to come here again! 5/5 stars all around from me!
We came into town somewhat late and noticed Coaches was one of the few places open. Good place to watch sports. The service was great, the server was friendly and honest with her recommendation. I would go back for drinks. Unfortunately, the food was not what we were expecting and was subpar. The bruschetta bread appeared to be warmed up garlic bread that was still soft. The lobster roll was more like seafood salad and there wasn't much lobster. The beef donair was interesting; I didn't taste any donair sauce/sweet sauce, the meat was interesting as well.
So I am giving a 3, but I would definitely go back. They were slammed, and only 2 wait/bar staff. So giving the benefit of the doubt, the service and forgotten condiments were BC they had 2 massive groups. Giving the food itself a 4, my club was good, my kid said the burger was weird but good. I'd definitely check it out again and price wise, worth it for the County.
Friday night dinner for family of four with two tweens. Clean, open concept, nicely renovated space. Was a little noisy, nothing to absorb sounds in the decor, made it a little difficult to have conversation. Otherwise, nice casual restaurant. Two servers only, but they were efficient and friendly. Still had a smile for us even though they were super busy. We tried the fish and chips, chicken penne and chicken cordon bleu. Not fancy food, but very generous portions. One entree easily fed two. Would recommend for easy casual pub food.
This is a long time Picton watering hole. Food is great as is the service. Nice outdoor patio, although the restaurant could use a good fixing up. Either way don't let the looks fool you. The club sandwich is amazing and they have excellent fries. We also tried the quesadilla which was great too.
Great sports bar with friendly county vibe!
Small menu, but its really well done food. More than the pub fare we expected!
I havent had the food yet inaas there for drinks with friends and the ladies that served us were great and funny also working like crazy monkeys because they were short Staffed and still always smiling great service awesome company and atmosphere
Great service. Pickerel was great.
It was first time to Coaches for dinner and we found it to be a nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food. It was busy but we gave ourselves enough time to sit, chat and enjoy ourselves before the Travelling Milburys tribute show to the Travelling Wilburys. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level entry.
Went for lunch with my parents. Haven t been there in years and love the location. Don t go if your looking for an intimate meal as it s very open and sounds is magnified, can be very loud. But if you want a pretty good po boy head on over Enjoy your day my friend
Awesome service and food
Good food, reasonably priced.
Expensive
Largest wings? More like smallest wings. Super salty and not much spice and very dry for Cajun Wings. Very disappointing
Very professional, clean, well mannered the best place in Picton.
Came here with 2 of my coworkers and we all got the steak. The steak was not cooked how any of us asked (medium) and was served 110% cooked and couldve passed as a pork chop. Really disappointing.
Nice pub
If you are not chalk white in colour - don t visit this place. They pretend they don t see you present. No eye contact. And not willing to serve you ! Ignorance incarnate.
Monday dinner and food was not that great; pickerel was so so , veg and fries were from frozen Food
You cant go wrong with the Po Boy!
great evening at coaches last night ... famous fish and chips did not disappoint portions are generous and well priced... service was welcoming , prompt and thoughtful the live music made for a great night ... highly recommend for a fun night out with great pub food
Ordered f&cs and the meatloaf, both were overcooked. Mashed potatoes were delish and service was great. Pub food is just not usually good.
Friendly staff, clean restaurant and delicious food
Our familys favourite spot in the County. If we are meeting up for a bite to eat & some drinks, we always pick Coaches.
The food was good and the service was fine except there was certainly a crowd there that seemed to get most of the attention.
Great company...meaning the people I was with - the end!
New menu is different. To say the least it has less friendly options which made coaches what it was. The Caesar salad is even different with chicken that is high in fat. Needless to say this will be my last visit for a while.
New location new menu great atmosphere!! Great prices
Looks like this place was recently renovated, its a lot more bright and inviting than it used to be based on old pictures. The Greek salad was nice, it wasnt just a bunch of lettuce but actually had a variety of vegetable and enough feta. The service was also excellent, very nice people working here.
Our waitress and server were great. And very nice place But I have to give a 2 star because the fish and chips were disgusting and soggy batter and my friend ordered the chicken fingers and it was disgusted on how much batter on chicken fingers. Very disappointed
May 2023: Great experience. Our group of 4 were there for lunch. Very good food, and service. I will eat here again.
Group of us just had lunch at their new location. Great setting, though a little loud, love the extended menu. Large portions, priced fairly, good service. Everyone left happy and will return frequently.
Great food.
Went to this place on July 14th. Ordered wings, burger. Burger was too dry, wings was like wood chip. Don t go in by just looking at the price on menu board outside the pub.
Would have like to given it a better rating, but unfortunately they didnt even take the time to serve me or my friend anything. I was denied the moment I sat down. An intoxicated man, sitting at the bar, noticed and decided to make a joke at me and my friend, also. He was proceeded to be served after that.
Just when I thought they couldnt get any more amazing, they proved me wrong!! Way to go to all the Coaches Staff..!! Food
We loved it! The food is excellent and the service too! I recommend
Very nice waitress. The food was decent but not outstanding. Felt decadent, so we ordered the lobster appetizer. Meh. Definitely would not order again. The Pecan crusted chicken with wild rice was very good. The only complant would be that it was a little light on the vegetables. Fish and chips came highly recommended. The chips were excellent. I had assumed it wouldve be halibut, but was cod so Im a bit disappointed. My bad for not asking, though. Well be going back again to try something else. Theyre worth a second chance for sure.
Food is great value and exactly what you want in pub food! Potato skins are great and they give you a nice sized serving of wine not the typical over priced 4oz pours you get in a lot of the places in the county now. Staff is always warm and friendly. Its exactly what you want if you want to avoid the over priced places catering to tourists.
If you havent been to Coachs in the past couple of weeks please go and check out the new menu. The Pecan crusted Chicken is my favorite and I highly recommend, also the Coachs Pasta is delicious, so much flavour. Thank you to Coachs and especially Lyndon Johnston for his wonderful meals and awesome menu.
The decor was nice, and reminded us of Chicago. Our server Libby was wonderful. The shrimp skewers. Were fantastic. However I found my pasta to be a little bit under seasoned.
Standard bar and pub. More drinking going on than eating. Pug Grub was good, sizable portions and hot enough. The waitress did a very good job in keeping up with the growing crowd and was very pleasant. Prices are within a good range.
Food was great and huge portions!
Picton classic
Burger was one of the worst I ve ever had. Dried up and no taste. Salad was wilty. Servers were average at best. Will never go back.
Food is amazing love the beef sandwich dip and the waiter was great
Food was fantastic. Big portions. Would recommend the meatloaf!
The food was delicious nice and hot we had fish*chips regular fries fish was big 2pis.we also had sweet potatoes fries very good.
Definitely one of the worst places I have ever ate at! Steak was so gross and not cooked like I asked garlic mash was plain lots of skin. We were never checked on one time and there was only 3 other people in the whole place which should have been our first red flag! Do not recommend!
Hands down, no questions - the BEST place in the county to watch a game and enjoy pub fare. Chicken wings are phenomenal.
How can a place call itself a pub with such limited selection of beer? Not one craft brew. 6 standard run of the mill beers (Canadian, Coors etc) Food was meh Food : 2/5 | Service
Great place to eat and watch some sports
This used to be our go to place in Picton. However, since the move/remodel, we noted their prices increased about $4 on each item. Unfortunately, this isnt something we can afford to enjoy.
Very pleasant meal! We stopped in for lunch with my wifes family on holiday in Picton. My mother in law enjoyed the liver and onions, the chicken breast was delicious as were the beef dip sandwich and chicken fingers. Both the fish and the chips were on the oily side, hence 4 stars for the food, and they forgot to bring one of the appetizers on time. Overall a good experience!
Great food. We order takeout from here and the fish tacos are amazing. In summer they have a nice patio behind the building. Pleasant and efficient staff.
Great customer service, great food.
Went there for lunch. Adequate quality/price ratio. Deficient service Despite everything, we could go back.
Cute back patio, but food was awful. The spinach dip was delicious, but .. The wrap was swimming in soupy sauce, and they forgot the bacon (which is crumble not strips, not defined in the menu). The French onion soup I couldnt eat. It taste like kraft plastic single slices, with a chunk of mushy soggy bread (not crutons) and watered down broth with not much flavor. The onions were the only okay part.
Very average food. Unfortunately there was a very rowdy group of mostly young men at the table next to us outside. There was a lot of swearing and shouting. Though the pub cant be responsible for their behaviour, I wondered whether the group was indicative of the clientele
There is not many veggie options there, But their veggie burger was really good
Always eat here when in Picton. Food and service are always top notch and the price is super reasonable.
Great atmosphere. Ceaser wrap was delicious. Highly recommend grabbing something to eat their.
Not much choice if your gluten free. Two options only . Salad with chicken breast that some what dry.Terrible Ceasar from the drink menu. Vegetarian options: One entree only Parking: Parking lot available in rear or street front if a spot open as on front street . Kid-friendliness: Yes on patio or front patio Not what I would recommend though Wheelchair accessibility: Yes but not to patio area
Very ordinary food. Poor beer selection for a pub.
Always yummy
Ladies night out for us from Picton No Frills. Good company, good food, good place
Decent food. Very tasty. But place is a mess, could use a serious refresh on decor and furniture. Only one server for the whole place and front table area was not cleaned up after patrons had left, littered with leftovers and dirty plates.
Great place to eat and relax during this reopening. Good food, beer on tap and very friendly service. All covid protocols were been observed during our meal.
Great place! Always happy to be here.
Food was very tasty, best wings I ve ever tasted!
Great food!
Lovely shaded setting with good service and excellent food.
Very nice patio! service and drinks are average, terrible food though, need to work on food quality and presentation! Indoor looking old and dirty.
Great food! Great service!
Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Nice place to eat! Will definitely return
Always enjoy visiting Coachs. Personalized service and the patio are big draws for myself and my friends.
Excellent place to be thoroughly ignored by your server. Try the sweet potaots
This place is a bit of a disaster. The decor is non-existent (it looks like they just moved a bar into an empty room). The service was humdrum (our waiter actually went to run an errand in his car while we were there). The food was bland: an unseasoned burger with bacon and onion rings on a nondescript bun does not belong in a restaurant. A McDonald s burger is more interesting than this.
Great serving staff. Burgers are great although slightly overcooked for me. Prefer a bit jucey. Pasta dishes are recommended. Fresh garlic would have enhanced the dish.
Great service and the food was very good.
Good food
Great food and service. Love the outdoor patio
Nice spot for a drink. Friendly service!
Great little patio out back and some amazingly delicious mussels in a white wine garlic sauce made for a lovely evening
Someone call Gordon Ramsay. Perfect kitchen nightmare.
Very good food
Great casual restaurant. Staff is really pleasant, nothing fancy but patio is usually nice and quiet. Fish tacos are great, nice big portions.
Good food. Fast and friendly service. A great place to go for pub fare and/or a beverage
We love coming here, and the egg burger is still my favourite. We came in today for lunch and had a new server which was okay, however she knew nothing about the menu and my wife found her to be very rude. She also spoke within earshot to her coworker about not having her vacations, yet customers are required to have them. Very unprofessional and stained an otherwise excellent run weve had here.
Nice place, polite staff, great food.
We were are party of 4 and were seated promptly. Everything was as expected from a good restaurant. We had steak, burger and wraps. All was prepared well and tasted good. The rare stake we ordered was a bit too rare for the taste (seemed to have been just seared ) but was adjusted promptly. The restaurant is clean.
A lovely and well priced pub! Stepped in for a drink with my husband. Food was delicious, drinks were good, patio was clean, staff were friendly and attentive. Wonderful spot.
Super friendly and reasonably priced.
Dont trust Google reviews - they are probably way overstated by locals. This place is really 2.5 stars as the most. If you dont order alcohol your chances of getting a clean water glass are diminishing low. Ive asked twice and got dirty one twice in a row. If you order juice you will get super watered down mix barely representing original taste. Food is overcooked and barely eatable. Go there at your own risk.
Great food. Great service.
Nice patio and good drinks
Big portions. Friendly service. Good value for the money.
Love the chicken wings! Wing night Thursdays!!
I had the Mexican pinwheel tortilla. Very good and filling. Id order it again. It was nice and warm in there too.
Great place, great service! Theres sort of a split between a more quite dining room and the sports bar in the back, so its easy to miss if youre looking for a bar. The food and drink was excellent, and the staff was really nice. Drop by when youre in town!
Dont miss wing night
Excellent
Locals bar. Friendly staff and ok food.
Good fun place.
I have been to Coaches a couple of times and always get the oysters. Great plate size for a great price. They have outdoor seating in the summer and 2 different areas in the restaurant for seating. The front is quieter and the back is where the bar and great bands are.
Great food with awesome service.
Best value for food in Picton. Large patio Always live music on the weekends.
Local hangout: After years (decades?) of family dinning in the small town of Picton where choices are limited, we finally found Coachs, and boy we are glad that we did. The food is quite good, the service is excellent. They have a GREAT outdoor patio/deck at the rear. From the front, this place usually looks desolate/empty. But travel into the building, past the dark, unassuming BAR area, keep going, and you will reach the nice patio/deck area. Highly recommended, if you dont mind the local degens hanging out there after they have enjoyed one too many pops.
Great food, amazing service. Waitress was amazing and so sweet. Recommended for anyone looking for a great pub experience.
Best menu selection in Picton, hands down! The food was wonderful, service exceptional, all around great experience!!!
Phenomenal service, amazing food give 10 stars plus plus...
Great food great atmosphere
The the Meatball Sandwich! Goooooood!
Needs updating, with such a beautiful setting in downtown Picton this place was under whelming
Serves its purpose. Nice staff.
If youre ever in Picton you want good food, dancing and live music with reasonable Hometown prices Coaches is great.
Terrible food and service.
Food was not great and overpriced. Terrible setting, and woefully understaffed.
Cozy little restaurant serving pub fare on main Street of Picton. Very friendly waitress. Food was delicious and hot. I got the fish and chips, was a very large portion. There is a bar with seating in the back, and seating for the restaurant up front. Would come back.
Great pub and owners. My local
Great good, awesome service
Excellent food and choices, terrific breakfast burger
Love Coachs, the staff manages to remember our drinks weeks and months later, great burgers, and great value all around. Highly recommend for a relaxed evening at the pub.
100 %
good pub grub, staff, and prices. comfortable.
great place to let loose on a Thursday night
Fun night. Good food. Good service. Good entertainment.
Great little pub. Fun & friendly
Great place to watch your favorite sports team(s) win! Funtastic live music on certain days... Must visit!!
Friendly atmosphere, polite staff, reasonable prices.
4.5/5 go to the patio.
I still love this place but Im confused how you can run out of beer.
Coaches staff are the best.
Service and the menu are good. The patio has a nice chill vibe for dinner, while the inside has two separate sections; a front that looks a little fancier, and the back end is the original sports bar. Its an interesting blend of ambience, so you can pick your environment.
The usual pub fare. Waitress forgot our beer.
Ordered the banquet hamburger. It was cooked really good and was very tasty and juicy
Typical pub fare. Staff are friendly. Not fancy but great location for a cold one. Patio out back shaded by trees, pub, bar and entertainment at the back of the restaurant and a few tables at front for a quieter dinner. Prices very reasonable.
Its a nice sports bar in Picton. The staff are great and the food is good :)
Saw them drop the sourcream for nachos right on the floor, buddy looks at us and picks it up and puts it back ontop of the nachos and serves it. Sooo gross. I put my menu away right then and there
Good food and friendly service.
We went here because for some reason Portabella was closed on a Sunday. Im only giving it 2 stars because our server was so sweet and lovely. The food was awful. We had wings, a flat bread and mussels, all very tasteless. The best thing about the food was my 3 year olds chicken strips. The interior was very sparse, no atmosphere, the patio out back was Ok, could be done up a bit better. Disappointing.
God food. Nice staff.reasonable prices.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Taco Tuesdays
Great food. Everyone ranted and raved about their deserts. Go for the patio over the dinner room or bar.
Fair price (less than 20 dollars per complete meal) for brasserie food executed according to the standard of this gastronomy. The front dining room is awful but the back patio is good. The service was rough and a little slow, but it must be said that our waitress was alone to take care of the terrace, the bar and the dining room. In the end we had a decent experience.
Very ordinary, weird atmosphere, mediocre food and lousy service
Fun spot for drinks and dancing on Friday nights
Waited 20 minutes on the patio and no waitress for us but the hostess served the locals having a birthday 3 times. I went in a asked her for a waitress and she give me shot for not letting her know that we were out there. Been there many times but never again. Our waitress was fantastic ( a Queens Student ). Food is getting smaller and slower service.
Wings were awesome, dark beer is tasty as well
Very nice place. Food was good. Touristy in the front. More of a local crowd for the back.
excellent music...great service...great time had by all
Great place for live music! Great wings and beer!
Great laid back county spot. Friendly people and staff. Great prices and drink selections. Great patio!
OK Tired decor, dirty toilets, OK but not great food, but very nice staff. Torn between 2 and 3 stars.
Best place to grab a pint and watch the game in Picton. Seems like its the spot where the locals go. Surprisingly good food for the price. Has a definite business in the front, party in the back motif.
The food is alright. Its just mediocre pub food. Its just a regular hole in the wall bar. However, the seating by the front door was nice, in front of the windows.
