Hank's Lonesome in Picton

I recently visited Hank's Lonesome in Picton for an early birthday celebration, and it was a fantastic experience. As someone from a small town in New Brunswick, I felt right at home. The karaoke night was a blast—the crowd was small but incredibly fun and supportive, making it one of the most enjoyable nights I've had in a while. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. We all loved the loaded fries; they were delicious. I highly recommend Hank's Lonesome for a great time.

I love the idea of this place, the decor and the look are on point. The food was really good, the beer was really good. The music left a little to be desired, I love country music but when I was there it was all new top 40 country, which personally isn't for me and didn't seem to fit the aesthetic. But maybe that's just my personal preference. I will certainly be back when I'm back through town again and would highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately, had a very poor experience at this establishment. No kids menu. 5 dollars per child size drink (think half can of ice t). Service was very poor, despite the dimly lit restaurant being less than half full. The food looked good, but given how absolutely disgusting my Caesar was, and refusing to pay 18 bucks for my 6 year old to have a cheeseburger, it wasn’t worth the investment. We chose to eat else where and were not disappointed by the restaurant down the street. If you want to drop close to $50.00 for two gross (and I mean absolutely top 3 worst Caesar’s ever) Caesars and two kids drinks, this is the place for you.

Hank’s is a natural extension of its sister restaurant, Darlings; the offering, from vibe to food, is as focused and considered. Hank’s does what other joints often fail to do: offer a cool place to sit and have a beer with simple food without pretension. It just is what it is and that’s more than enough. Have gotten takeout a few times now it’s been home run after home run. Food is hot, quick to come out, seasoned well, and generous in portion size. Value for money is on the money. Go sit at Hank’s and take a load off.

Going to be back often to try everything on the menu. but so far, I've had the burger, the wings, the fish and chips and the oysters and everything has been amazing. they recently added cocktails and that was the best Ceasar I've had in a long time, if not ever. I find Ceasars can be a bit gimmick-y. The cool ranch Ceasar works so well I'm surprised I've never seen it before. the burger comes wrapped in foil, a clever move which helps melt the cheese and steam the bun ever so slightly. the ginger scallion on the oysters added the perfect texture to them giving just enough bite. the wings were cooked well and not dry, something unfortunately uncommon now a days. to be honest I'm not a country music fan. but that does not dissuade me. I think that the community has been in need of a of a place just like this. can't wait to go back.

Best fried chicken. The best. Awesome atmosphere, great service. Did I mention the fried chicken being the best?
