The writing should explain it . it was from the inspections health department. They were there on that date as soon as I posted it all the information is up on public health.
Recently moved to the area so are trying all our local establishments. Can safely say this place is off our list. The chicken fried rice is rice with a hint of chicken, the curry chicken is an onion and green pepper curry and good luck trying to spot the chicken. Beef lo mein was a packet of noodles topped with a little veg and a slither of beef. Needless to say we won’t be back.
We ordered dinner for 6 and while the food was good the serving sizes are much smaller than what you would expect from a typical Chinese take-out. It was closer to what you would expect in a dinner for 4
We’ve ordered from here twice. I really like the food. Not too oily or salty. Dinner for 3 could feed 4 easily and it was 60$ after tax and tip.
Usually the food is better than the last couple times we have been there. This last trip made the whole family sick I'm not to sure what's going on but hopefully they start using better quality ingredients.
I got the dinner for 5 and 4 cokes. The total was over 100 dollars. They have no debit machine and you have to have cash if you are doing delivery. It took over an hour to get the food. It has basically no flavors. The noodles were sad and clumped together. Portion sizes are also very small. When you could dine in the food seemed better but they have not opened their restaurant up and the quality is suffering. I wouldn't order a burger and fries for takeout, so we ordered Chinese food and it tasted like steamed veggies. They're a nice family local business, but other than that... No body hardly ate, and 100 plus bucks gone.
Read the reviews, but have wanted Chinese food since we moved to the county last year. Well today we tried it and was very satisfied with the food and the service (take out). No shortages, flavours slightly different from what we have had for 20 years but still very pleasant and we WILL be going back, even though it is a 25 minute drive each way.
Came in from Toronto for the weekend. We went to this place because our hotel restaurant was full. It was fine... breakfast was pretty normal and portions were big. It was quiet there and I felt put off because of it but that was unfair I believe.
With one star rating, no review needed.
Sign says open but the place is in darkness and closed every time I have visited lately. It would be nice if the owners turned their sign off and let people know if they are permanently closed.
If this place goes out of business, consider it a public service.
Dont Tip this place. Do you Tip and MacDonalds at the drive through? Do you tip at KFC or Wendys?

Ordered takeout Chinese dinner for four $90 after a 15%tip because of all the good reviews Ive heard. Sadly I am very disappointed and will not be going back. Chowmein, and chicken vegetables were flavorless and just tasted boiled. Chicken balls and spring rolls were soggy, but the rice was decent.
The place need an update look but the food is amazing the staff are very friendly. Its a nice quiet place for a good family meal . Parking: Park out back or on the road. Wheelchair accessibility: At the side of the building

These folks through the pandemic have been take out only but the quality of their chinese food has ramped up incredibly. Kudos. Best chinese in the Quinte Area in my mind.

We paid $43.45 for a dinner for 3, 2 months ago now they charge us $58 today we showed they are over charging us and they called us lier.. we will never go back. Worst place to go.

Their Chinese food is fabulous BUT, twice now on take out orders, we have been shorted. Our fault for not checking before we leave but it shouldn t be rocket science. We always order the same, dinner for two, 2 extra egg rolls, 1 order of almond guy ding and an extra sweet and sour sauce. First time, forgot the almond guy ding and tonight, forgot the rice. Frustrated because we live half an hour away so by the time we get back to eat, we re not going to spend another hour on the road. Again great but check your order before you leave!
Delightfully surprised to find out this was the best Chinese Food Meal i have ever (emphasis on EVER) had. In my house chinese food is a treat night but all were thrilled to learn that this little gem of a place steps away from my new office door is so amazing. The service was excellent but to experience excellent service and then upon eating this take out meal just couldn t believe the wow factor of how great it was. Oh and the portions were super too!
Rice was dry, ribs were dry and they got our order wrong we realized it when we got to the cottage. The person who provided service to us was very friendly.

Very family friendly place to eat. With covid restrictions it has only been a take out restaurant. They still make your visit to order or pick up your food a nice experience. Highly recommend!!!
Great tasting food, good customer service
One of the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Ordered Chick fried rice, no check just fried the rice in the soya sauce. BAD BAD BAD Ordered Chicken with Vegetables, just mixed with some bad gravy. Ordered beef with broccoli. no broccoli just alot of onions. It is a real shame, she serves and cooks at the same time. I understand that there is labour shortage......dam serve proper Chinese food. Sorry, I will never order food from this dirty restaurant again.

Good Chinese food!
My husband and I really like this restaurant as the place to go or for take- out for Chinese food. Food always cooked well and still hot when served. Almosphere is relaxing and clean looking. Friendly and polite servicers who dont make you feel like you have to hurry up and get out. Would reccommend it as the place to eat in Picton.

Great food and friendly staff who can treat a annoying customer very well. Only thing I can say thats negative is the decor is dated and a odd clash of styles. The website is also very out of date.
Grossly overpriced for the quality AND quantity of food you get. The shrimp chow mein is just sprouts and shrimp (about 7-10 in the order) and is completely tasteless and flavorless. Huge mistake ordering out from here. Stay away

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food ever...... girls that I work with suggested this place and they raved that it was the best Chinese food that they had ever had...well girls you need to enlighten your palette.....the chicken fried rice was tasteless,very dry and had a million peas in it....... Chicken balls soaked in grease and nothing but batter... seriously,if anyone actually thinks that this food is edible then your taste buds are non existent.....never again will I waste my money here....uggggg.

This restaurant probably wont wow people but it was ok. I had the fish and chips. The fish portions were very big. The fish batter almost tasted like chicken balls (Chinese food). The fries were frozen, but decent and the gravy was quite tasty. Price was reasonable.
Best Chinese food in town!
If by chance you are in the area and craving some Chinese food, your options are very limited, but you wont regret going to island family restaurant. The homey atmosphere coupled with friendly staff gives you the feel good lunch or dinner.. Oh and the food is pretty good too. Well balanced portions and good taste without the over powering use of salt like some places Ive gone to.

My mother and I ordered from here, and usually their food is amazing and etc. Unfortunately, they took 1:50:00 to get to our house which is just by the LCBO. We called after an hour wondering where our $58 meal was. Our guest had to leave and left hungry. They told us only 15-20 minutes left. After thirty minutes, we called again- at this point we were really hungry. They said it would come soon. We asked to speak to the owner because no take out should take that long to get to a doorstep, and we just wanted to see if theyd give us some free wings on the side to compensate for the time taken (1:30:00). The owner refused to even go onto the telephone, and made the employee tell us No compensation. No refund. It was under two hours. The employee was fairly rude and obviously couldnt care less. We finally hung up, miffed. No food should take that long to cook, and the owner shouldve been professional enough to pick up a phone and tell us themselves. After another twenty minutes of waiting, our food finally came. Not even ten minutes away from 2 hours. No refund, no deduction, no compensation. Our guest left hungry, and we were led hungry for almost two hours. Very disappointed in this service. Usually we like to support family owned businesses within our community, but this makes people not even want to touch your place with a ten foot pole. Also, noodles were dry.

Had a very poor food experience, ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and it came out ice cold and tasted extremely bitter. My friend ordered some fish that tasted alright, nothing special. The fries and service was very good but other than that, food was less than mediocre, and the restaurant is very dated inside
