OMG! Chef Ian is an evil genius. His food is wonderful and he has an expert hand with the deep fryer. The Scotch eggs are succulent and crispy. The salmon cakes are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Yum! Can’t wait for Sunday lunch roast!

I have been looking for a restaurant offering a roast dinner and finally found it! This was an authentic, home-cooked roast dinner that didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent; portions were very generous - we walked out full and with leftovers. We highly recommend a visit to Quaich and Banter. Ian, the owner and Chef is lovely, and we had a great experience with Jen, our server. We will be back!

Lovely meal - enjoyed every single bite. The entire evening was seamless. Our waiter did not miss a single step during service, bravo! First time and not our last. Recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal and detail orientated service. Cheers to the entire Quaich & Banter team - you’re doing fantastic!

Authentic Scottish Flavors Elevated – A Must-Visit! We had an incredible dining experience at Quaich and Banter! If you're looking for authentic Scottish dishes with a modern twist, this is the place to be. The food was a perfect blend of tradition and creativity. We started with the Scotch Eggs, and they did not disappoint—perfectly cooked with a hearty sausage filling that leaned towards the bold flavors of haggis. It was a true Scottish classic done right. The highlight, however, was the Haggis Croquettes. The interior was buttery smooth, with that unmistakable rich flavor of haggis, encased in a perfectly crispy exterior. Every bite was a delightful contrast in texture and taste. Our main was an expertly prepared beef tenderloin. Served rare, it was a properly aged generous serving that you could cut with a fork, perfect! Dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding, I have NO words, just order it!!!! If you're expecting French cuisine or overly fussy dishes, this isn't the place for you. Quaich and Banter is all about celebrating Scottish standards and elevating them to new heights. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy bold, comforting flavors with a touch of finesse!

Last night, my partner and I had dinner at Quaich & Banter and it was a delightful experience. I ordered the beef bake, while my partner opted for the fish and chips. We also shared a plate of croquettes. The food was nice and had a very Scottish touch to it. The drinks were great, and the highlight of the night was our fantastic server, who kept all the guests entertained and truly enhanced our dining experience. However, it was a bit disheartening to see the patio empty on a warm summer night, with only four tables occupied inside. As a marketer, I have a few suggestions to help attract more customers. First, consider changing the signage from "Public House" to "Restaurant and Pub." Picton is a tourist city, and many people may not realize you offer a full dining experience just by driving by. Additionally, adding a few more general items to the menu that pair well with drinks could attract more patrons to enjoy the patio. While keeping the Scottish theme, don’t be shy with seasonings and salt to bring out more flavour in the dishes. Making the plates more visually appealing with some vibrant colours and better combinations could also enhance the dining experience. We genuinely want to see your business thrive and believe these small changes could make a big difference.

A hidden gem in PEC! They now offer takeout. Got the fish and chips + chicken supreme. Both were absolutely incredible. I felt the portions were fair but selfishly wish they were more generous. Very excited to dine in and try their new brunch!

The food here is really the star of the show. We ordered the scotch eggs and cullen skink to start, which were both exceptional. So delicious and comforting. For mains we ordered Fish and Chips. The fries were very very good. Not our favorite tartare sauce...sufficient but just a preference. We also ordered the Pulled Lamb Shoulder. The lamb absolutely melted in your mouth and was seasoned perfectly. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. The service, although very pleasant, was the only thing we found had some opportunities. Our server was lovely but it was a very quiet night and we watched a couple of other people come in after us and leave before us as we waited for next orders or the bill. We had to flag someone down. Again, it was lovely, just an opportunity to mention. We will definitely be back. Kudos to the chef 💯 👌

We absolutely loved our dinner at Quaich and Banter. The ambience and the service is so warm and welcoming. We had the cheese board to start and had the fish and chips, the duck confit and the beef shoulder. We topped it off with a sticky toffee pudding each. The food is out of this world. We'll definitely be back!

The food was good, but it was our server, Donna, who made the evening. She provided knowledgeable, friendly service while serving many other tables. The fish and chips included two generous pieces of nicely battered fish. Duck confit salad was generous with well prepared duck leg. Three desserts were tasty, although the lovely lemon cake was still frozen. We would return.

Truly exceptional food! Ample portions, Beautiful flavors, tradition and love put into each dish. Limited menu but all the better to put extra care into each item. Service was very attentive and most entertaining I would absolutely return and recommend to all of my friends! In fact, I returned as we left Prince Edward County for a takeout portion of their Cullen Skink smoked haddock chowder..its a MUST! Dietary restrictions: My partner is coeliac and they were very accommodating with his gluten-free allergy.

Last night, my husband and I checked out this Scottish gem of a restaurant and were very happy we did! He ordered the whisky battered halibut and chips and I had the duck confit salad. We split a Scotch egg and sticky toffee pudding as well! All the food was delicious, and we were amazed at how low the prices were for how high the quality was. Our waitress Donna was very friendly and took my severe allergy seriously. Wished we lived closer so we could come more regularly!

Wish I could give them 7 stars! My extended family and I visited Prince Edward County this summer and had our dinners catered by Quaich and Banter. They offered an incredible variety of dishes and cuisines, accommodating the dietary restrictions and preferences of our party of 13, and each meal was more delicious than the next. In addition to our whole group loving the food, Q+B s behind the scenes magician, Sara, was a dream to work with. She answered my numerous emails promptly and thoughtfully and worked with me to create the perfect menu for each night. She also personally delivered the food piping hot exactly on schedule. I m deeply grateful to the Q+B team for their extraordinary food and exemplary service! I only wish I could try even more of their delicacies at home in Montreal!

Quaitch & Banter Running a restaurant these days is hard especially when you re not right in the middle of town. We want to lend our support to a local business after a fantastic culinary experience. We hope this wonderful couple becomes very successful with this endeavour. They ve only been open since last fall. We were pleasantly surprised to discover this amazing Scottish Pub restaurant is now open for breakfast and lunch as well as dinner. It s off the main drag but well worth the minor extra distance. Believe me, we are foodies to the nth degree and I would never post a glowing review if it wasn t well deserved. We were there for a midday dinner and had the haggis croquette as an appetizer and the whiskey battered halibut and duck confit salad as our mains. Everything was perfect! The haggis croquettes, the chef s own creation, were wonderful and the portion size large enough to be a meal unto itself. The halibut was absolutely the best fish and chips we ve ever had bar none, and we ve had fish and chips pretty much in most countries that serves them. The duck confit salad was beautifully fresh with generous portions of shredded duck. The chef s philosophy of using fresh local ingredients was evident. The service was excellent. You must try this place. We will definitely go there again. Oh, and by the way, if you like gin, try their Prickly Thistle cocktail-it was fantastic!

We went to the Whisky Tasting and Food Pairing last night, as well as having been to Quaich & Banter several times previously, the food was fantastic, the whisky choices were very good, and the pairings worked very well. Brian was very knowledgeable on whisky and Ian s food was, as usual, very good. Sara and the team were also fantastic. It was the first of a planned series, and I m looking forward to the rest. Overall great experience and a great addition to Quaich & Banter s normal menu and offerings.

First time here, and really enjoyed it. We had the sharing plate to start, with haggis, scotch egg, and rumbledethump. Yummy. Went to their first Sunday roast and oh.my.god. In short the food was amazing. I had 3 courses and added the salmon carpaccio special. Salmon from Scotland was to die for and I cant wait until I can have it again. My first course was the Cullen skink which was so comforting and delicious on the cold night. Second course was the Beef roast cooked to a perfect medium and a jus that complimented everything on the plate amazingly. For my dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding that was served while still warm and was by far the best Id ever experienced. Everything is made by scratch and with so much love. I truly cannot wait to eat the entire menu and go watch this amazing restaurant thrive

You must try @quaich_and_banter, the newest restaurant in the County. Four of us went for their Sunday Roast Dinner - Im just home from it now, writing this review, then having a nap! To begin, the chowder was superb (smoked haddock, potatoes, leek and cream). Im hoping they will soon offer it to take home. Three of us had the roast dinner, each trying a different meat - pork, beef and turkey - and all were delicious (I tasted the pork and turkey so can personally attest to it). The accompanying yorkshire pudding, roasted veg and potatoes two ways (roasted and mashed) with lots of gravy were all tasty. Only one at the table was able to eat it all - leftovers in the fridge for the rest of us. And one person had the vegetarian main which was also a generous serving and tasty. Well definitely be back to try their a la carte menu (offered Thursday thru Saturday). Oh, and the service was very friendly and fun and the timing for the whole meal was perfect.
