Good spot for dinner. Beef was excellent! Reasonable variety on menu. Warm and cozy. Personable service. An error was made on one of our orders, which they corrected along with a complimentary glass of wine!
Beau's Bistro in Picton, Ontario, offers a cool atmosphere and a mostly satisfying dining experience. During a quiet weekday visit for countylicious in late fall, the standout dishes included the grits and perch fritters, both of which were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the vegetarian Thai noodle plate was underwhelming, lacking the expected punch of flavor. The fried chicken was good but seemed to miss a certain element to elevate it further. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting, making it a pleasant spot for a relaxed meal. While some dishes could use a bit more zest and some dietary limitations, Beau's Bistro still delivers a worthwhile dining experience with its unique menu offerings.
We had a perfect dinner eating from the Countylicious menu 😋. It was great, and we'll be back again to try the regular menu 💯. I'd recommend everyone giving them a try.
What a pleasant surprise. We stopped here while we were in the area. The food was creative, delicious and memorable. The service was excellent - joyful, attentive and helpful. Would highly recommend this place.
After seeing a 4.7 rating we decided to try eating here. We ate mid afternoon on a Saturday….there were 4 tables eating outside and we were the only table inside. The service was very slow for not being busy but the staff was friendly. When we finally got our meal, the disappointment kicked in. The $39 rib eye steak dinner was served with garlic butter that never did melt and what looked like McCain fries. My stuffed Yorkshire pudding was tasty but the Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and tasted almost burnt. The salad that came with it was good though. We did not complain to the staff as that is not our style. We are glad to hear that others have really enjoyed their meals there….unfortunately we did not (especially for what it cost). Maybe we just caught them on an off day?
I recently went to this place where I tried the quesadilla and the hamburger. The open kitchen was a nice touch—it made me feel confident about the food’s freshness and cleanliness. Both dishes turned out pretty good. The quesadilla had a great mix of cheese and fillings, and the hamburger was quite satisfying. The vibe of the restaurant was quite nice. The owner was friendly, and the place was comfortable.
It is a beautiful bistro in downtown Picton, very nice food and service there. And PET FRIENDLY!!! Highly recommended the fries it was soooo delicious:)
The service is fast, friendly and the waitress was extremely careful about our dietary restrictions. They only offer one vegan main dish, the vegetable rosti, which is absolutely delicious. The mushrooms are perfectly cooked and overall it’s a very tasty meal. The only limiting factor in the meal is a lack of protein source such as beans. We had the house salad and it was alright but the nuts were a bit over toasted. The salad was a bit soggy as well but the vinaigrette was pleasant. We were pleasantly surprised to see they offer a vegan dessert - however it was more icing than cake and was just overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, I’m sure this restaurant offers great meals but their vegan options were a bit underwhelming.
My husband and I had dinner this evening at Beau Bistro and it was wonderful. The atmosphere, service and food were all excellent. We will definitely return in the spring.
I stopped in here for lunch on a Saturday, and they were very friendly! I caught the switch over from brunch to lunch menu and that meant I could get the most DELICIOUS soup I have ever had: Potato Bacon Curry - so much depth and flavour Im still dreaming about it. A nice and cozy atmosphere too, right on main street. Would absolutely go back here next time Im in Picton - it was a real challenge to narrow down my pick on the menu, it all looked INCREDIBLE.
The food was so good I woke up later that night dreaming of eating there again. I had the fried chicken on grits, totally will eat there again.
Lovely bistro with an excellent brunch. Delicious food and great service in an eclectic yet quaint and cozy atmosphere.
Delightful surprise in all ways!
Food was good. Service was good. Very friendly staff. Wed go back.
One of the best hamburgers Ive had in years!!! Seriously good stuff, well be back for sure!
VERY disappointed. We were first turned away for a table at 6pm, while at-least 5-8 tables were visible without reservation signs. After waiting for 45 minutes outside, we ordered the salmon- as we saw fantastic reviews online, it came, completely overdone, so thin and not at all what is photographed online. We complained thereafter, saying we were very disappointed. Only received a $5 discount on our entire bill- no apology, no trying to rectify the problem. Received a it happens attitude. This for a plate thats $30.
Water was Luke warm, I asked for lemon on my water, didn t get it, it was hot in there with just fans going. The Yorkshire pudding I ordered was not available after I had ordered it, had to wait 15 mins to be served. There was only one customer in the restaurant
Amazing service, so friendly and attentive, fantastic food, highly recommend!
Felt like a king, the service was so attentive, I frequently dîne in restaurants and rarely feel inclined to leave à review.
Recently had the good fortune of sitting at the bar at the Beau Bistro. I had some lovely wine which I believe was the house. Delicious croquette appetizers which were also stellar. Q I had Ella as a server and she was attentive, funny, while taking great care of my last minute request before the kitchen closed. Definitely a gem in Picton. Check it out!
The Beau Bistro in Picton is a delightful dining spot. The food is fresh, locally sourced, and always delicious. With a cozy atmosphere and excellent service, it s a perfect place for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Our server Shannon went above and beyond to creat an excellent dining experience for us. Highly recommended!
Dined on the patio. A completely enjoyable atmosphere, great service, and great food. Wonderful desert , we will back.
So good. Got the steak and eggs brunch. Chef was super cool. I was the guy with the Max Headroom T-shirt. Very good quality good and steak cooked perfectly medium-rare. Highly recommend.
Fantastic Margaritas, and a delicious beef brisket meal accompanied by home made yorkshires.
Ordered two coffee and calamari when we sat down. Calamari was good, coffee sent back as it was stale and warm at best. Second coffee was fine - a Bistro shouldn t serve poor quality coffee! No lattes available. My wife ordered the salmon, quinoa dish from looking at the website earlier. Was served shrimp instead without the avocado that was mentioned on the site. Apparently, their actual menu differs from the website - although she actually said salmon, quinoa dish when she ordered and the waitress didn t mention that it s not going to be salmon. My wife didn t eat the lunch. Was charged full price.
I have eaten here several times recently and have been very happy every time. The only thing I didnt LOVE was the burger but im not the best at reading and didnt realize it was a smash burger and thats 100% on me, Even still it was a good smash burger. The grilled cheese is SO good. Simple done right, They make a tomato jam for it which is excellent. The fish and chips were the best Ive had in a while. Calamari was cooked very well and tender. The cocktails are very good as well. Paper plane in particular.
Huge shoutout to Beau Bistro. On short notice, they were able to accommodate our big family of 29. Seats and tables already prepared upon arrival. They were able to take in all of our orders and serve us in a reasonable timely manner. I had the Salmon Benny and it was absolutely delicious. As an ex restauranteur, I ve observed the chef at work from my seat, noticed his body language and pace, I already knew i wouldn t have been disappointed. Hats off to the chef! This is definitely THE spot the next time I am in picton. (I was the gentlemen sitting right beside the A/C unit).
Croquette appetizer was decent. Mains were not good. Steak frites was asked for medium to medium well and came out rare. Gnocchi and curry were completely flavorless.
Superb spot! 10/10 service 10/10 food Great portions, filling. Highly recommend the grilled corn. New drink.. Elder Bloody Fizz- YUM! Drinker be warned .. LOL
Wonderful HEATHY menu selection. The no sugar ice tea was great. It s hard to find a Canadian restaurant that serves it. We ll definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: No sugar options
Very kind staff, food is really good ! Nice place to have a brunch !
If you dont mind eating cholesterol and fatty oils for brunch this is the place. Totally disgusting greasy food. From their brunch menu.
Very awsome!!! So tasty all the family loved it!!
Great place. Food and drinks are delicious. Service is incredible. They even brought out blankets for the ladies sitting on the terrasse tonight.
Good ambiance. Skirt steak was overcooked but was prompted removed from the bill. I appreciate the attempt to make things right. Good caesar salad.
the smash burger was actually insanely good (tasted homemade, which for me is the best) + the fries were really good (albeit a bit salty)
Food was excellent!
Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. Our server was lovely and had a great time with my group. Very disappointed with the portion I received, however. I ordered the Gnocchi and received a chicken breast with maybe 15-20 pieces of Gnocchi. It had a good taste, nothing extraordinary, and considering I m a young man with an absurdly fast metabolism, the Gnocchi might be filling for others but not for me. I expect a larger portion if I m going to pay $28. Would recommend if you want a good vibe, and don t care too much about what you are eating.
Great food, drinks and service!
We had a great experience at the Bistro. The service was excellent, well timed and we were not rushed. The food was tasty, portions were generous as well. The prices were reasonable. Food : 5/5 |
Stopped by with a large group of inlaws for brunch. They handled us all perfectly, service with a smile, great recommendations and prompt service even though there were so many of us. The decor is warm and welcoming and we found it easy to relax. The food hit the spot perfectly. My young children can be fussy and they devoured every bite. Portions sizes were perfect and everyone in our group was happy with their meals. Steak and eggs were amazing. The granola breakfast didnt skimp on the fruit and was great as a lighter breakfast. There was a menu item called grilled bread (I think it was called) that had gruyere cheese, smoked mushrooms and carmalized onions which was a big highlight. Overall the food, ambience and friendly service made for a great start to our day and I think I have a new favourite place in the county. Well definitely be going back. Vegetarian options: They had a vegan scramble listed on the menu. While Im not vegan it sounded appealing and will get it on one of my upcoming visits. Kid-friendliness: Menu has items for kids under 12. The portions are perfect and child friendly. Pancakes had lots of fresh strawberries and were completely devoured. Staff brought colouring books and crayons for our kids to enjoy.
Their apps alone offer such amazing taste and selection we share those for dinners. Above good . They are all great.
Ate here with my family and had a really great time. The staff were really nice and the food tasted great - I had the Gnocchi and would definitely recommend this.
Cute little restaurant with excellent service . Food was brought quickly and was very good. We got the gnocchi and the brisket and were not disappointed.
Amazing yorkshire pudding, must try. And stuff is so friendly, loved this place
We were on vacation and looking for some takeout for dinner. Needed gluten free options for my husband with celiac. The food was delicious, and the kitchen was able to prepare Lamb Korma for him safely. Everyone was very careful, attentive and friendly. The space also looks very nice for an eat-in meal.
What a great find. Great way to send us off home from our mini vacation. Do not skip the fish and chips.
Best salmon and best quinoa ever !
Great experience at the Beau bistro. We had smash burgers that were excellent and the fries were simply amazing. Only negative point is that there was not a lot of choice of beer and the sangria was okay at best.
Went for dinner, they ran out of sslmon. Food was good. Patio is nice. Weekends are busy. Service was good.
Went with a group of ladies. The service was excellent and food was amazing. Cant wait to go again
Very good restaurant! I had the Hoisin Honey Glazed Pork Ribs with Peanuts, Sesame oil, Green Onion, Chilis, marinated Vegetables. & raised Beef Brisket, gratin Potatoes, classic Gravy & Phyllo Green Beans! With rasberry sorbet for dessert! My server was Emily and she was friendly, efficient and really personable as well as accommodating.
I went with work colleagues and it was absolutely wonderful! I have told everyone. All the staff and Shannon and Andrew were amazing. We will come again for sure. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free is a great choice for some of our colleagues
A group of us went to Beau Bistro. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and excellent service and the chef did an awesome job preparing it.
A new restaurant in Picton, on Main St. We were pleasantly surprised with our meal. It was excellent. I had the Bistro Burger, the best Ive had in a long time, nice to see a great tasting burger that is normal size, not gigantic, fries were perfect too. My partner had the Fish & Chips, it was good. Attentive service, good wines and beer. The berry & lime sorbet was a bit bland, but refreshing. A wonderful addition to our town. Will be there again.
Friendly service and very accommodating -- they made the gentleman next to us a meal that was not on the menu (he was hankering for an omelet). Dog friendly patio. Delicious food -- my husband was gushing about his fish and chips, and the homemade tartar sauce. Which is high praise... he is VERY hard to impress. Apparently they have only been in business a short time -- we wish them all the success in the world!
Great little spot in Picton. Went here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Short menu and great seafood options. Got the potatoe croquettes and fish and chips and they were excellent.
Went here on Sunday of long weekend, without having planned or reserved and could not have enjoyed it more. Food was delicious, drinks were great and service was amazing. Food
Tried out this new restaurant tonight and it did not disappoint. I had the most amazing meal at the beau bistro! It was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be back.
We went here for Countylicious last weekend and it was fantastic. We were served our food quickly and the atmosphere was great. The food they sourced from the county was delicious. I got the beef brisket and potatoes and my wife got a stuffed chicken breast with gnocchi. We both loved our dishes. The desert was so good. The appetizers we great as well. The three course meal they offered was a great prize and a great return. Cant wait to come back.
We tried this new restaurant by starting with the countylicous lunch menu which was fine but not exceptional ( except for the burger and fries which was outstanding), so we were a little reluctant to take another group of friends there for dinner but the menu was interesting. So we went for the countylicous dinner and our table tried all 4 appetizers , the two meat entrees , and 3 desserts. Absolutely first class food and service! This is a must try restaurant for anyone who enjoys beautifully cooked food.
