Market driven food menu+ thoughtful wines + delightful atmosphere
We tried a few different things off the menu. Rather pricy for what we got. This cabbage dish, basically some cabbage leaves roasted and then sprinkled with cumin and soy sauce, nothing special at all, so expensive. For cabbage? Trout, was ok, but again so expensive for just a piece of trout with some lettuce. Duck confit, same story, small and expensive. Bread and fresh butter, delicious. Beef carpaccio, very good. The menu is indeed limited, as mentioned by other people. That’s ok, but then at least make the items you offer, really stand out and don’t cheap out on ingredients and sides. I wish the lightning was better, too dark for my liking. 🙄
Very welcoming staff. The menu is tight and offers a tapas / sharing style selection. The beef carpaccio was excellent, as was the Eisenberg wine. I don't recommend ordering bread for yourself as it is a quarter loaf, and a heap of butter sprinkled with salt. Chill little open kitchen restaurant. I do not regret my decision to stop in (or to order the bread).
4/5 A chic and elegant restaurant tucked around the corner on Elizabeth St in downtown Picton. It’s rare these days for establishments to play good music, however Theia’s playlist was nothing short of spectacular 👌🏽🎶 The ambiance was dark, yet cozy and had a very “French/bougie” feel. The open concept walls/garage doors are a nice touch on a summer night. Theia boasts an incredible wine list, however serves a very select few by the glass 🍷 A negroni should also have one large cube of ice - not 7 small cubes 😉 The food menu is more “bits and bites” as opposed to fulsome meals. We ordered the sourdough bread, beef carpaccio, and the cavatelli. Everything was extremely tasty and delicious and made with love 🩵 Being seated at the bar, we were able to see into part of the kitchen (or one of the kitchens rather, where small plates are prepped). I was a bit surprised that the female chef wasn’t wearing a hat, hair-net or gloves. She simply had her long black hair in a messy bun with no sanitary wear in place. I get this would perhaps take away from the ambiance/mood of this restaurant, however I think patrons would prefer precautions over a hair in their food 🫣 Would I dine here again? Most definitely. Lots of amazing things about Theia, but lots of potential as well. 💡 Pro tip: Be sure to make a reso if you’re dining on a Fri/Sat as they will surely book up.
We just finished an absolutely outstanding meal here tonight. Just incredible. Service is warm and friendly, music is great (I'm a big music fan and so many restaurants drop the ball on tunes and sound quality, not here). On to the food. We had five dishes, six including the sourdough (real good, do not skip). They change the menu frequently so I don't know what you'll have, but the raddichio carpaccio was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Peaches with pancetta? Yup. Cavatelli was perfect. Eat here, you won't regret it.
We’ve now dined here 3 times and loved every visit. It’s a must on our trips to PEC now. Cozy vibes, creative dishes highlighting local produce and a unique wine selection. We love that the menu evolves so each visit is a different experience, but have always left happy with every dish. We recently sat at the bar which was a great opportunity to see chef Myles working his magic while we dined.
We had a great experience dining at Theia. The food and service were fantastic. It’s a very small, cool place with a great vibe. The two of us shared 4 dishes and each one was delicious. Great wine selection. We got chatting with chef owner Myles. Passionate, great guy putting out some awesome food. We will definitely be back the next time that we’re in the area.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. Standouts were the beef carpaccio (the charred radicchio was such a great pairing to the salty beef), duck confit (so simple, but so tender and flavourful) and the basque cheesecake (perfect end to the meal - balance of sweet and sour!). Great spot. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.
Amazing and delicious food all throughout! If you’re wondering what heaven tastes like, then go Theia. 😇 Each item we got was flavourful. Every bite was a dream! I can’t even pick a favourite because each dish was special. I would definitely go back here again. Thank you to the chef and the server! They were very nice and they take care of their customers.
Truly one of the best dining experiences I ve had in a long time. Warm staff, accommodating menu, cozy vibes. Utterly, perfect.
Amazing food, wine and service! Warm ambiance. Highly recommend.
Service and food for our group of 9 was executed extremely well. Perfect way to cap off your day in PEC
You re missing out if you don t go here. The vibes. The staff. The food. It s all incredible. My sister and her now husband hosted their rehearsal dinner here and all I can say is wow. Kimberly was such a gem. The wine selections were top notch. I only have good things to say about this place.
I went here with my family on Friday night and I have to say this has to be the most perfect restaurant that Ive ever been to in my life. The ambiance was well curated - perfect playlist, cute little disco ball, simple cozy decor. The service was so professional and kind. The food was amazing. We ordered everything on the menu and I loved every bite. Thanks team, keep up the good work :)
Small menu. Local food. Excellent service and unique wine list. Be sure to make a reservation as there are a very limited number of tables.
Everything about this place is carefully curated. The food is thoughtfully prepared with extra attention diverted toward supporting + featuring as many local food producers as possible. The drink menu is curated with intention, to give patrons the opportunity to engage in a true culinary experience often reserved establishments in larger urban centres. Ultimately, everything Theia does is rooted in an authentic passion for the culinary art form. In a world of chains and restaurant groups, Theia is a refreshing breath of originality and, ultimately, honours the values of homegrown.
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Cute place.
Fantastic food, environment, and staff. Passion infused in every element. Will return.
A place of wonder. A hole in the wall we were happy to fall into. Disco ball and and great dishes, in a bite sized restaurant. Highly recommend!
Good place, great food and tranquil atmosphere
Such a cute, intimate restaurant! We loved the vibe and most importantly the food. Everything was delicious! We will be back 100%
Everything at Theia was absolutely fantastic! The food, the service, the wine, the atmosphere, 10/10. Cannot rave about this place enough, do not hesitate to go, order the tuna and ask for the Domaine des Huards romo and prose, both wines are fantastic! Food
Such a vibe - delicious menu.
Extra stars needed for the periodic disco lights.
Worst restaurant the food has no taste at all very low quality food & very limited menu, the employees are also very slow in serving food. When you visit Picton please avoid visiting this restaurant its a waste of your hard earned money.
Such a special place and experience. The space itself is welcoming and warm and whoever chooses the music has exceptional taste. You re greeted with warm smiles by the staff and owners who also work on the floor. The food is carefully prepared with local ingredients and plated beautifully. The wine list is curated to ensure every sip is well paired with the menu which changes often and seasonally. An absolute must for anyone stopping through or staying in Picton!
Cannot recommend this place enough! The food, the vibes, the wine list 10/10. These people clearly love what they do, and we loved experiencing Theia. Will be back
Incredible food, incredible service. A wine bar with so much character and heart in the kitchen and on the floor. Wouldnt miss if I were in Picton!!
So happy we found this gem in PEC! The food, wine and ambiance were absolutely perfect. Can t wait to come back!!
Had a fantastic meal here with my wife - sharing style, with great wines and cocktails to pair. Service was perfect and the seasonal dishes were fresh and deep in flavour. Will come back for sure.
THEIA S CULINARY MAGIC AND EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCE Our family of three recently had an unforgettable dining experience at Theia restaurant in Prince Edward County. From the moment we walked in, the relaxed and welcoming vibe put us at ease, setting the tone for a fantastic evening. The food at Theia was the true star of the night innovative, fresh, and downright delicious. The restaurants commitment to using homegrown veggies and locally sourced meats shines through in every dish, delivering vibrant, seasonal flavours that you can t help but savour. The chefs are clearly passionate about quality ingredients, and it shows. The service was not just impressive but also enlightening, with staff who not only knew the menu inside out but also shared their knowledge and enthusiasm with us, making us feel valued and respected, and the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Theia also offers a carefully selected wine list that beautifully complements its menu. Whether youre a seasoned wine lover or simply in the mood for a great glass, theres something for everyone. In a town brimming with fantastic restaurants, Theia truly shines as a hidden gem that lives up to its reputation. This is the place to be if youre after a dining experience that brings together exceptional food, a cosy ambience, attentive service, and a standout wine selection. And I must mention that the Charred Cabbage in Tamari Sauce with Cumin and Coriander was a revelation. I never imagined cabbage could taste so good I m still thinking about it! I m already looking forward to my next visit to Theia and eager to indulge in its culinary delights again. The thought of returning to this exceptional place is truly exciting and I cant wait to experience it again. This place truly deserves five stars! Vegetarian options: My wife is avegetarian and her order was the best :)
Lovely friendly service and creative, interesting dishes.
Food is delicious, really feels like you are back at your family table. Highly suggest!
Incredible food and service!
Phenomenal wine selection and food
Food: The dishes we chose were all very good but they lacked seasoning (salt). Service: Too fast. We received 4 out of 5 plates at the same time. Normally, we should have received one or two plates at a time. We felt like the waitress was too present. She was constantly picking up our table. We gave each other a hug and she came between us to serve the table even though we had only been there 15 minutes. The restaurant was half full and we arrived at opening time with a reservation so I dont understand this rush to clear our table. I believe she had no bad intentions, her goal was to provide the best service but sometimes too much is like not enough. Price: Justifiable. We ordered a plate of bread which included 3 slices of bread for $9 which in my opinion is an unreasonable price considering that the dishes cost around $25. I believe that the pricing strategy was not the best, that being said I believe that it is only a lack of experience. We generally enjoyed this restaurant.
The food was absolutely amazing. I love choosing several plates and sharing them in order to taste more food. We had a zucchini salad that was fresh and very tasty. I could eat the creamy vinaigrette on its own since it was so good. We had the tuna bites that literally melted in our mouth and the duck confit that was absolutely fabulous as well. Good choice of wine. A restaurant you must try!
We had an excellent experience at Theia. The menu was beautifully crafted around fresh, local ingredients. The food was prepared perfectly and was delicious. The wine list was interesting and we found the perfect bottle to pair with our meal thanks to the knowledgeable wait staff. Service was perfectly timed with the attention to detail one would expect from a fine dining restaurant - but all within a cozy, laid-back atmosphere to match the County setting. 10/10 would recommend!
Incredible gem in the county, you can feel the love and passion from every member of staff. A warm and inviting place that makes you feel like youve been invited to the coolest and most delicious home kitchen, I hope I am lucky enough to return.
The literal best restaurant in town!!
We finally had a chance to dine here. Fantastic resto in the County. Our server Murphy was friendly, helpful and fun to chat with. Every dish we tried was perfectly plated and delicious. The bread is warm and served with whipped butter. We had the carpaccio, pasta and trout which was divine and perfectly poached. Generous portions allow for sharing. Great wine list, warm atmosphere... this is a must try when visiting Picton!
Happen to stumble upon this relatively new wine shop. Boy I m so impressed! Their wine selection of natural wines is impressive. They artfully pair wines and outstanding in-house dishes A must visit Food
We were at Theia tonight for dinner it was amazing. Had the beef carpaccio and pasta, both were really amazing. Definitely should try it. Small place, the staff were all really friendly and we had a really good time.
Fantastic meal and service! We ll be back soon.
Great food but the portions are definitely too small for the price. Great service!
If I could give it six stars I would. Always a great experience
Incredible experience! The food was amazing, and we enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the chef at work.
Food was delicious, great service, awesome atmosphere, 10/10 recommend !
Recommendation that you make reservations, wine list is spectacular, items here you wont see anywhere else. Food was fresh and very flavouable. We will be back.
Beautiful food, amazing wine list, warm service and fantastic music! A young couple makes it all happen with Miles alone in the kitchen. We sat at the bar with full view of his focused and dedicated attention to every plate. The trout dish was especially noteworthy. Salt cured egg yolks from the owners farm grated on a beautiful side of watercress. In place of a starch was an ode to Jehane Benoit with shredded cucumber, cumim and beautifully whipped with fresh cream. You gotta love a 30-something chef who idolizes Benoit. Book early its a busy small space!
We had a fantastic meal at Theia. Secured a last minute reservation and were very glad we did. The atmosphere was great, service attentive but not over-bearing, and cocktails/wine delicious. The food was simple but incredibly flavourful. The Serrano ham and sourdough were fantastic and the lamb ragu was also a standout. 5/5 would go again!
I love Theia
Hot chef great ginger ale best time!
Amazing effortless food by a sweet young local couple!! A very much needed addition to Picton :)
Amazing new restaurant in PEC! Cute and quaint with yummy snacks and welcoming staff! Will be back!
Delicious fresh food and amazing wine list! So tasty and amazing service. Thanks Theia!
Like tapas - at the moment, the menu consisted of small dishes only. But everything was delicious and offerings unique.
Super nice owners and very knowledgeable about all the different wines. Great spot and even better owners and atmosphere. Look forward to going back.
Incredible hospitality, food and wine. Amazing new addition to Picton. Can t wait to come back.
Delightfully thoughtful menu and staff. I was impressed with how fresh the herbs were and the precision in which the prep chef must have picked them.
Fantastic new spot in the county offering creative dishes with fresh local produce and a perfectly curated wine list. Great open air vibe, which transforms when the sun goes down and the disco ball goes on!
Perfect spot, especially if you love wine. Menu is fresh, seasonal and unique. Absolutely loved the shrimp cocktail, likely the best I ve ever had honestly. I will dream about the cocktail sauce. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Wine list was great too, loved that they had a wine special and lots of options by the glass. I will 100% come back. Great for drinks with friends and sharing plates.
Great little spot with a small menu. Food is made with a clear thoughtfulness put into it. Fresh ingredients and amazing taste. Lovely staff.
Cozy atmosphere with well prepared, beautifully presented entrées. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were very welcoming. Would highly recommend visiting!
What an addition to Picton - the thoughtfulness and care that owner-operators Myles and Margot bring to life through Theia is special. Super excited to see where this project goes! Stop by for a glass of wine and good vibes.
A beautiful experience from start to finish. Myles and Margot have thoughtfully curated a beautiful ambience, menu and wine list. A truly unique and amazing experience in the county! You will not be disappointed!
Amazing spot in Picton! Great wine list and quality food. Lovely owners will make you feel welcome. A number of our wedding guests from out of town went here over the weekend, and they all raved about it.
Cutest place in the county
Our multigenerational family had the pleasure of dining at Theia restaurant recently. We had an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a relaxed and welcoming vibe that immediately put us at ease. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. Theias commitment to using homegrown tomatoes and root veggies and locally-sourced meats adds a distinctive and delightful twist to every bite. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and bursting with seasonal goodness. Its evident that the chefs here are passionate about quality ingredients. The service was equally impressive. The staff was not only attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. They guided us through the offerings with genuine enthusiasm, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Speaking of wine, Theia boasts a well-curated wine list that perfectly complements the menu. Whether youre a wine connoisseur or just someone looking to enjoy a good glass, youll find something to suit your taste. In a town with more than its share of great restaurants, Theia restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it receives. If you want a dining experience that combines exceptional food, a warm atmosphere, knowledgeable service, and a stellar wine selection, look no further. I cant wait to return to Theia to sample their culinary delights again. This place truly deserves five stars!
Everything was perfect.
Such a great new addition to Picton. The perfect mix of locals and visitors from out of town. Thoughtfully selected wines, and very generous hospitality. You can truly taste the care in every bite.
Sexiest new restaurant in town. Love it when they turn on the disco ball!
This is a wonderful oasis with a simple, yet delicious menu. The owners are wonderful hosts and offer a delicious evening out, even for the gluten sensitive crowd. Chef Myles made a wonderful gluten free desert that wasnt on their regular menu to enable a sweet end to what was an amazing dining experience. This is a do not miss dining location while in PEC. Dietary restrictions: A nice variety available for someone thats gluten sensitive.
Truly a perfect spot. Had an incredible time here while in Prince Edward County. Amazing food menu which is sourced from local ingredients and a wine list that is just fantastic. Will be back sooner rather than later.
Very special evening at Theia as the new fall menu launches. We tried most dishes, which were all excellent. Cozy? intimate apace with great music and open kitchen. Attentive service. Highly recommend.
What a great spot! Amazing food, perfect atmosphere, awesome playlist, impeccable service, great wine list, lovely owners. Would highly recommend checking this place out. Definitely one of our new faves in the county!
Had an absolutely delicious dinner here. Hyper local ingredients prepared thoughtfully and an incredible wine list. Owners are front and centre, welcoming and friendly.
Great food and wonderful service! Loved the Lamb ragu!
Absolutely amazing!! The best food we have had in the county with the most amazing and inviting team. Myles and Alex were so kind and genuinely happy to have us! The cozy atmosphere was exactly what we wanted and we felt like family as soon as we walked in. This will be our new go to spot, and the new recommend spot for those visiting. Parking: Close to the free parking lot! If full, lots of parking on the street
Amazing and highly memorable food in a cosy and fun atmosphere!
