Vic Social in Picton

We ate at Vic Social for the first time and were very pleased! The food was really good for what we paid! The service was outstanding! Bang for the buck was excellent! Would go again in a heart beat! Food : 5/5 |

Food is good but the prices are crazy $15 for a poutine I pay $6 for anywhere else and it was small ..your prices are like toronto.

Been there a few times since the change in management and it has definitely UPPED its game!! Food and atmosphere are wonderful. Service is top notch - Jillian is just delightful!! Will definitely be more regular especially for breakfast!

Friendly service and approachable restaurant. Good for a casual night out with friends and family. Food is decent but nothing to get too excited about honestly. They had limited vegan options (burger and salad) - could do with more exciting options. Outdoor sitting really needs a good clean - smells like old beer and spills.

We had the best experience here while visting Picton, the food was amazing and the service we got was amazing. Gillian served us and was very friendly and gave us the best service while we were there. Next time in Picton we sure will visit here Vegetarian options: Their poutine gravy is vegan and very tasty!

We recently stopped at Vic Social for lunch while by Sandbanks. I had heard it was good so we did the short drive to Picton to see They did not disappoint! We sat on the patio despite it being a little chilly that day. They had blankets on the seats just in case we were cold. And we were. The blankets made sitting out perfect When my lunch arrived my partner said Now that s a burger! lol I had the pear cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. The owner Gary greeted us and visited during our lunch. He clearly is proud of his place and should be We both loved it and will go back. The food was much better and varied than I expected Thanks for a great time

This was our first visit to Vic Social. We were able to sit outside in a covered area. Weather was nice but a little windy, so this area provided a great place to enjoy the outdoors yet not get bothered by the wind. Once our small group (2 couples) sat down, we were greeted immediately by very friendly staff. The food and drinks were brought shortly after ordering. The food was amazing!! The guys had the Classic burger, and the women had chicken tenders. Our waitress was very friendly and provided us with some great information about events that are held at the Vic Social. We also noticed that there were many games available to patrons. What a fantastic idea! We will definitely be returning to Vic Social in the future. I highly recommend giving Vic Social a try. You wont be disappointed!!! Parking: Vic Social has a number of designated free parking spots near their entrance.

Good place for breakfast and lunch

I was in Picton for A house / pet sit and stopped in Vic s on the way home from the post office . I was just in for a beer and was lucky enough to be served by Gillian . Gillian is a rare commodity in the restaurant business nowadays, charming , friendly and truly cares about her job . She introduced me to the owner , Gary , and he had the exact same attitude and personality that Gillian did . I ve just retired after 40 + years in the restaurant business and I can honestly say , people like these are a rare find . Please go and find out for yourself

We visited Vic Social on Oct 20th 2024 and we were disappointed with our food. We ordered the Big Vic breakfast that comes with 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon and 3 sausages. We asked for the tater tots well done. Our eggs came over hard, (not over easy) we were not told they ran out of sausage, so instead, they gave us 5 strips of bacon each that was burnt. We could of paid less for the regular breakfast and just got bacon. The tater tots, although we asked for well done, had a burnt taste to it. We didnt touch our toast as we never got peanut butter and jam that we asked for. We didnt complain to management as we had quite a bit of a drive back and we didnt want to waste time. The wait for the food was a bit long. There seems to be more waitresses then cooks in the kitchen. We did have a pleasant waitress. Im not sure we would return back in the future based on this first time experience. I gave it a 3 stars as there are other things on the menu, i didnt try.

Wanted to have breakfast outside with the dogs. First thing the waitress did was bring two bowls of water over. Great food great location will definitely eat here again

Probably an ok bar and fun for a big group but the food is mediocre and while the other servers seemed attentive ours was anything but.

This place was recommended to us by friends of mine. We were in Picton for a girl s weekend and reunion from our boarding school days. This place is absolutely fantastic !! Appeals to all ages and styles. Food is fantastic. We had apps and drinks. The staff were great. Pleasant and really helpful. It was obvious that they loved working there. Fun atmosphere and nice patio. I would most certainly return if I am in Picton again.

Visited on a Saturday evening. We wanted a patio table but the place was full. I would recommend reserving if you visit on a weekend. They had amazing crab cakes. Must try.

Oh my God this is the best restaurant I ve been to They have great food and great service and I used to live in Picton and every time I walk past that store I would dine in And I just want to say that burgers are great And fries There s just so much more and they were just polite and nice And the food is just affordable

We stopped in here for lunch, we tried to get a seat on their outside patio but unfortunately there were no spaces available, so we got a table in their covered patio section, the food was decent, beer selection was limited, with only two bottled options available, both imports, Corona and Heineken, both very drinkable, but one or two Canadian options would have been nice, Picton is a lovely little town, and this restaurant would be a nice place to relax for a while and enjoy the weather , waitress was great and very friendly

We came an hour before they closed and it was pretty busy. The staff were friendly. They squeezed us onto a two-seater, but as soon as some people vacated, they pushed a table close to us to give us more space. I had spaghetti bolognese - good flavour and huge portions. My sons burger was a little burnt along the edges, but he still enjoyed the meal.

Food amazing, sevice was great. Dog friendly place and the owner is very humble and charismatic. Will return anytime!

We had a wonderful experience last year and I sent a FB message to compliment this place. This year was a different experience. Everything started ok. We were on the patio at the picnic tables on Sept. 4. Vivian was nice until it was time for the bills and she was a different person. There was a table beside us who we recognized some of the people but we were not with and she added our bill and theirs together and included a 20% tip. We said we were not with them but just chatting, and asked to give us just our bill. In fact, their table had 2 couples and a kid, so this would entail us trying to split the bill in 3. We still offered to give the same 20% tip. She was so angry that we asked for just our bill. I mean, hey, we sat at a picnic table surrounded by wasps to eat expensive burgers (although good). She ended up obviously annoyed, asking this blonde woman who indicated she was the manager. She, very begrudgingly and angrily, said its a lot of work, but she will split the bills. I got mine, the 20% tip was on there. I was paying cash and Vivian was so annoyed and said I have no change, what do you want me to do I already left a $20.00 tip for burgers on a picnic table, Im not rich, yes Id like my change please. She was so annoyed so I went inside to ask at the bar if anyone could give me change. She came in, grabbed the change and just threw it on the counter. We couldnt believe this. She was so nice when we first got there. I get if there is a large group, work out the bills and a mandatory tip but this was not the case. It left a very bad taste in our mouth and we certainly wont darken that doorway again. For wonderful service, delicious burgers and similar seating, we will go to Harrys charbroiled where your business is appreciated. Extremely disappointed.

Visited recently with a small group to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. We were told how fortunate we were to have snagged a table without a reservation and were promptly seated. This is where things went downhill... after receiving our drinks, I discreetly ordered a dessert for my girlfriend and was assured it would come out following our mains. The place was moderately full when we arrived (about 70% capacity) and emptied out steadily as we waited. It took over forty minutes for our food to come out after our drinks were delivered. We were all beyond famished when when our plates arrived, and were given a side of dubious excuses. The manager stopped by to reiterate that messaging as we ate. When I mentioned that updates from our server would have been considerate regardless, the manager hand waved our comment, telling us that things work differently in a small town. He left us to shake our heads in disbelief for a few minutes before returning to verify my account that our server had not so much as made eye contact since dropping off our bevvies, and then offered to buy us a drink. We politely declined. Come time to pay our bills, our server went missing again, so we bring them to the bar just to get out of there. My low rating isnt leveled at the decidedly average fare, but rather at the wasted time and hunger pangs felt by my partner on her special day (and no: comping our sodas doesnt make it even). Get it together, guys.

This is a nice spot and has potential of being very good. The issue I have is I ve been twice now and the service and food is painfully slow. 30mins for 2 eggs, bacon and some deep fried tater tots .. is a bit much. Need to get customers in, fed and out a lot quicker.

Good food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Very clean. A good choice of menu items and drinks. They also have Happy Hour. Its a fun place, good for couples, family, friends, dates etc. GREAT VIDEOS PLAY of 80s retro! The owner comes by and greets you, and checks how everything is. Nice touch! We all had different items, and they were all excellent - fresh & tasty.

We finally made it to Prince Edward County! And the first place we had to check out was Vic Social. My friends had been and highly recommended it. The food was delicious! We ordered the lobster roll and the penne. Wow. The food exceeded my expectations. Everything was cooked to perfection. Also the service was amazing. Our server was very efficient and friendly. We got the small town feeling in a cool trendy restaurant. The owner, Gary came over to our table to say hi and see if we needed anything. Nice touch! We also enjoyed the games, we spent quite some time there chilling, laughing and even the other patrons were friendly too! It s truly a social club! What a vibe! Loved theme of the restaurant. Lots of cool insta worthy spots and the bathrooms were a cute surprise (I don t want to ruin it for you!) What a treat! Would definitely go back!!! Ps. Espresso Martinis for the win!!!

Mediocre food at best. Menu items sound good but are not executed well. Outdoor patio is filthy and there is an overwhelming amount of flies - assume due to cleanliness. Would not recommend.

Cool spot for lunch/dinner in Picton. The Peanut butter and Kevin Bacon burger was amazing! We had to come back and try a milkshake the next day which was also delicious.

Visited Vic Social on a Friday morning for a salmon eggs Benedict, which was delicious! Two perfectly poached eggs with an orange yolk running down onto the smoked salmon and English muffin was exactly what I wanted for my breakfast. My partner had the three egg Vic breakfast which satisfied his taste as well. The service was quick and pleasant and the decor gave off a nice modern but old timey vibe. Very happy with our breakfast at Vic Social!

We USED to LOVE the Vic over the past few years. However, todays experience was... different. The breakfast was just ok. Smaller portion size and different sauce on breakfast poutine... no longer our favorite dish. BUT still ok :) We ate our breakfast and tried to order one breakfast to go, as we had a family member at home with a headache. But we werent allowed??!!?Then we asked if we could have a take out container for the rest of our sons food that he didnt eat and the server said they had none. ?? Anyhow, just a very wierd experience. Will try a new spot next time.

We went there twice during our weeks vacation. The first for Wednesday bingo which was very interesting. The food is good and the choice of drinks is very diverse. The employees are very friendly and the service is very fast even though the place was full on both occasions. The lunches are delicious! I loved my experience and cant wait to go back.

Been twice for breakfast while visiting the county, great food and service. Try to make a reservation ahead of time as they can get very busy.

Crispy chicken sandwich really not great. The bread was cold, I asked for it to be reheated, it was not very hot when the waitress brought it back to me. Really ordinary over all. Very very nice and efficient waitress.

We booked an outdoor reservation for a family of 4. They told us we were sitting inside and that open table booking isn t a guarantee. We didn t see any warnings about this. Fortunately they got us a table outside but they seemed very inconvenienced by it. One of us ordered the avocado toast on foccacia. When it came out, it was on hard rye bread. When we asked about it, the waitress said sorry there s no foccacia today. She was a young teenage girl so we didn t make a fuss. My husband tried to flag down the male manager before and he seemed to ignore us but gave a table full of women undivided attention. The food is overpriced for what you get.

What a fantastic place we found, everything was perfect and I mean everything! Not bad for just out for a drive and we came across this gem. We had a Vic burger and a chicken meal. Yeah we are going to have to go back soon. Food

We were denied entry because of our race and told that this place is not Mississauga Milestone and not open to 8+ guests. I would not recommend this restaurant to people of colour. We did call for reservations and nonone picked up the call. We were not 14 people and i dont know why Mississauga came into our discussions. It was brought up by the owner. Racist is saying You think this is a Mississauga Milestone and you cant expect to be accomodated. So long story short, not a welcoming place and there was better ways to say No rather than what was said to us. Dont recommend this place at all.

Listed as pet friendly, but only pet friendly if/when their picnics tables are open/being served. The other patio is not pet friendly. Drove specifically into town because listed as pet friendly and were turned away.

Great place to eat and very kid friendly. We also had an amazing waiter (Dan)! He had impeccable customer service! I highly recommend getting the crab cakes.

They made my friend cry after refusing her service and failing to provide any valid reason for doing so. Seems like a place that values personal prejudice over legitimate business.

I cant rave enough about Vic Social, the fantastic staff, and the incredible owner, Gary. My girlfriend and I decided to come from Toronto and swing by for dinner on a Sunday, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted by smiles and an atmosphere that was absolutely buzzing with energy. We kicked off the evening with a delightful Pinot Grigio on tap and a refreshing local pint of beer. For dinner, we both opted for the chicken breast sandwich, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of phenomenal. Everything from the fresh bun to the succulent chicken and the crisp, fresh side salad was simply delightful. Our experience was so memorable that we just had to go back the very next day for breakfast. And wow, Monday morning at Vic Social did not disappoint! The pancakes were fluffy clouds of heaven, and the avocado toast was a masterpiece. It was hands down the best breakfast weve ever had. If you find yourself in Pincton, Vic Social is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you wont be disappointed! Thanks Gary!

Never will be back! The food was fine but the service terrible the waitress was unhappy and not friendly the moment we arrived. Was there for the stanley cup final the tv kept lagging, we left before the game was over. Terrible choice of restaurant, don t recommend you to go there.

We had a large party (24) reservation and when we arrived the owner met us and let us know that one of their chefs was sick, he said meal delivery may be slow. As someone who works in the service industry I appreciated his transparency Good news was that nothing was delayed, food was delicious and Tori, our server, was amazing. So attentive, so fast, she had someone helping (sorry but I don t know her name). Overall a great evening 10/10 would recommend I am only sorry we won t be back for Boozy Bingo, that sounds like my kind of fun!

We wandered along downtown Picton and we needed a bite eat so we stopped in at Vic Social. Placed our order and drinks came right away. The food order did take a little longer than I liked, but the burger did not disappoint! Now, I have had a lot of burgers in my day and your burger was one of the best I have ever had! So, if you stop at Vic Social, get the classic burger with all the fixins! I dont think you will be disappointed, I wasnt!

Visited early July and half the things on the menu were not available. Not even burgers. Place seems amateur and redneck though staff is nice. We left as nothing available, so we cant comment on whatever food they have.

On vacation with my wife, Friday night, around 6PM, July 5 Service: we were yelled at by the Greeter and were asked to use interior table (8 were available) for no more then 1h 45min so that they could get them ready for a reservation at 7;45PM Food: tomato sauce was advertised as home made which was deceiving since it was no frill made instead, and old, to address the rotten taste - hot paper was added in huge quantities, my wife would not eat it. My Classic Veggie Burger was burned beyond belief and was returned, fries were old and dried, rewarmed, impossible to eat Atmosphere: place was not busy with patrons but staff trying hard to look busy, manager / owner - there are two brothers - would not reimburse for a poor quality food except for my burned burger, Positive: our waiter - was genuine and felt embarrassed for the mishaps from the kitchen I suggest other places east on the main street

The service is wonderful the food is great and I love the new look. Vic Social atmosphere is something so different and unique. I have had the pleasure of great service by all staff. I will be back and would highly recommend a visit to Vic Social.

Fantastic pub style food. We dined for lunch and everything we ordered was well prepared and extremely generous servings (more food than we could finish!). We loved the chicken burger and the chicken strips! Gary and his staff were fantastic and made sure we were comfortable. He even made special deserts for our two little ones and all the kids that visited. Breakfast menu looks great too, and we will have to come back for that. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu with four different options. Games menu for boardgames brought to the table.

You must go to Vic Social when you are in Picton. Food is great. Gary the owner is amazing to talk to and really cares that your visit is a great experience. Came in for lunch and a few drinks and had Soulla as a waitress, was great and very friendly!

Sadly the service did not match the food. Food was hot and delicious. The service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged ordered everything right away knowing kitchen and service was slow. Requested a game while waiting, waited 15 minutes politely asked again she went into excuse mode about how busy she was. She came back game was unavailable. We waited 30 minutes for our appetizer and 55 for food. We were never offered water or another drink. When our food came never checked to see if it was ok. I went to the bar to request a drink of water. Requested check waited 10 minutes and could she was chatting with another worker. I went to the main cash to pay. I did not leave a tip I have never done this. I used to wait tables tips matter. Her confrontational attitude was the last straw.

We enjoyed our brunch experience at Vic Social so much that we had to return to it the next day. Food is yummy, atmosphere is great with classic movies playing on the TV monitors and awesome 80 s and 90 s music to vibe to. Our server, Gillian, is a gem, super friendly, attentive, and provides excellent service. We highly recommend Vic Social!

First time visiting Vic Social (as i live out of town) but i would recommend this to anybody. Food is amazing and the patio is lovely for this time of year. Our server Gillian was so friendly and approachable. She recommended one of her favourite alc beverages to me which i ended up enjoying as well. Overall an amazing experience and i will be coming back the next time i visit Picton!

Best dining experience ever! Had a girls reunion at an air bnb in the county and this was by far the best restaurant. Amazing service, food was exceptional and the atmosphere was second to none. They even had a list of games you can get to play at the table! We played cards against humanity and laughed until our faces hurt!! Go there now!!!

Amazing place and amazing owners! We booked in advance and got delayed however, our reservation was adjusted with a smile despite it being a busy Saturday. The food was good and really liked the selection of games available to pass the time as well.

Friendly service and delicious food. Loved the music - one great hit after another. Son and husband had fun playing the games. Kids loved the special ice cream desserts. Ample parking. Will return next time!

We just tried this place for the first time today and have zero bad things to say. Good food, good portions, friendly staff. We will be back for sure. Obsessed with the brussel sprouts!

The milkshake was real nice. Their kitchen closes earlier than the bar, for those who are going in for late dinners better call in to check.

We went for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. We were greeted with a smile by Jillian. She found a table for us, even though we didnt have any reservations. I watched her host, serve, bus and train and mentor. Jillian did all of this quickly, efficiently and with a smile and a warmth that is rare in such a busy place. The food was also excellent and the atmosphere, casual and inviting.

Food was actually expensive for the its quality, wont be going there again...
