From the reviews I was expecting this shop to offer yummy, high quality subs better than the chains. Unfortunately that was as far from the case as possible. Very low quality meat. My assorted sub was all bun and one slice each (cut lengthwise) of cheap bologna, cooked ham and luncheon meat. The club included two small pcs of bacon. Sad. I really wanted to love it.
Tasty choice of green olives and pickles for toppings. House dressing has good acidity. Bread is fresh (white). Prices are low. Locally owned and run.
Absolute hidden gem in Picton! I come here every year on my yearly trip to the beach. The owner goes above and beyond to give you the best customer service. She will make the subs EXACTLY how they are advertised and you will get a great conversation out of her. I look forward to coming here every year. All ingredients are fresh and the sub is made with love. 100000% recommend stopping by and supporting this local sub shop.
We stopped into this sweet little shop on the way to the beach and the subs blew us away! The owner is so bubbly and sweet and has been running the place for 45 years. Incredibly delicious we will be back☺️
Stopped in at Imperial Submarine Sandwiches today for the first time today. This family run shop is a must try, if you are in the Picton area. The food is amazing (fresh and delicious ingredients), and they have fantastic customer service (I had a lovely time chatting with the owners while my sandwich was being made)!
Great subs, much better than Subway in my opinion! Bread is great and lots of great reasonably priced options to choose from! Service is always fast and the guy there is super nice!
What a terrific sandwich place. Very cozy when inside but big flavors from there menu. I had a roast beef with bacon my wife had a cheese and veggie sub. Everything was freshly made. The bread was soft and smelled great. This place dates back about 50 years and has an old school element. Don't expect grilles and heating ovens. Expect the way subs were made when we grew up. We will be stopping in again and so should you

Not only have I come to Imperial since I was young, but my mom has also gone for 30+ years. My family loves the subs, and the workers are extremely friendly. For more of a personal review, because I have had the subs for so long and at such a young age, they re a core memory. Of course, the place is not perfect for few reasons, but regardless, it s a special place that has its special type of value. It s very little flaws do not put down the quality of the subs.

Best old school sub shop around. Fresh finely shredded lettuce, non of the bagged garbage lettuce that subway etc. has. The owners are so warm and welcoming. Thank you.
The person doing the sandwich was not wearing any gloves and just handling all the ingredients and bread with his bare hands, basically cross contaminating everything. Meatballs are taken from the freezer and put in microwave. Bun is not even grilled. The guy is nice, but the severe lack of hygiene is concerning.
These subs taste exactly like they did back in the 80s they are fantastic you ve got to try and imperial sub if you re in Picton we love this place

Good food. When you can get it. Several times 10 or 15 and even 20 mins before closing and the door has been locked. When you close at 9.. it should be 9.

Ordered a blt sub here for a quick lunch. The service was quick, friendly and the sub was good. The bread was really fresh and if not probably better then what you would get at another sub chain.

Try the chicken and bacon sub...you WONT be disappointed! The owners have GREAT customer service, as well as teach that to their employees. Something MANY businesses are lacking these days.

Was led here by the ravishing reviews, however, after eating here I am 99% certain they are fake/paid bot reviews. The sub was gas station quality at best and $10. Small amount of Discount cold cuts on the sub, and thick wonderbread. Makes Subway taste like a gourmet deli. 2 stars for the small business owner but should be 1.
Low quality sandwich. Asked for mayo and sub sauce for dressing, got a mayo sandwich with a bit of meat inside. The whole thing was mayonnaise and the bread was stale as well. The food was not up to previous standards so order here with caution.

Best sub youll ever have. Unreal Turkey, the sub sauce is beyond compare. They use real garlic in the tzatziki and you can really tell. Always make sure to stop here when Im in the County. Family owned business with great owners.
Like a flashback to great childhood memories of mom & pop subs in my small town (before Subway chased them all away). Assorted is a classic but the Greek salad is delicious too. Looking forward to going back soon to try the gyros sub.

I remember going there in the 80s. Recently was in 2017 when I visited my Hometown and saw it was still there. Had an assorted and Ill be damned, it tasted the same if not better than I remembered. Ill make sure I go every time I get back home. Keep it up!!

Steak was frozen and reheated in the microwave, bread was served cold. I let myself be influenced by the reviews. Bad decision. Do yourself a favour and Drive anywhere else to grab lunch. The subs were not tasty and none of us were able to finish our food. I was very disappointed given that the reviews were hyping this place up. A BLT from Timmies would have been more satisfying.
I never tried something like that,I just wasted my money, their food was cold, they reheat the meats in the microwave so dissatisfied.

Loved these subs since I was a little girl, great flavor and family owned, but need to tell some staff not to be too cheap on toppings and fillings, especially lettuce.
Here in Picton and looked like this place was decent based on the reviews, so decided to head over with my buddy to check out the hype on the best subs in the county. I guess everyone on here either has never left Picton or their yardstick for a good sub is whether or not it is physically digestible. Watching them rip open a pack of discount cold cuts as I noticed the meat slicer collecting dust, then pulling the ready crisp bacon out of the microwave... I had seen enough. I actually went back to my place and ate a turkey sandwhich leftover from yesterday with the confidence it would either meet or far surpass in quality. Being a locally owned joint, I understand the support and an alternative to Subway is certainly desirable. However, if you are gonna distinguish your quality from them, then do so.

Old school subs prepared quickly. Was just what we felt like the day we stopped in.
High in nitrate cold cuts and they really skimp on the vegetables. I guess lettuce is expensive in Picton? I was so looking forward to a classic refreshing sub away from the sorrid limp stuff Subway makes. This wasnt very imperial.

Absolutely great place to eat. The owners/staff were very polite and talkative. The subs were fresh and my imperial sub had more meat than you would get at a subway for a better price. The souvlaki and baclava were both homemade so my mother got them and thoroughly enjoyed them both. I will definitely be stopping here again on my next trip to picton.
