Stopped in for Sunday brunch during their Countylicious special menu, and just wow. Great service from a wonderfully nice young gentleman. Came to check on us regularly, very conversational, and very efficient with our requests. Amazing food. The brunch specials were all great twists on regular brunch items, but the flavours and quality was just impeccable and exceptional. I’d expect this quality in downtown Toronto, but instead I’m in a beautiful winery, overlooking Lake Ontario in PEC. I highly recommend!!!!
What a beautiful winery. The estate offers lovely views of the lake. We stopped in for a tasting and some lunch. Food was delicious and Dave our server was excellent. I had the gnocchi and my husband the burger and we both enjoyed our meals very much. Patty in the tasting room was awesome as well and the wine I had at lunch was on sale. It was Honeysuckle and was light, fruity and delicious. Next time we would like to stay there as their accommodations look excellent.
Amazing dinner experience!! We had a birthday celebration and David, our server, made it very special. The food we had was amazing, all farm to table ingredients. We were a large party and enjoyed many dishes, each one delicious!! We would highly recommend this restaurant!! And the wine was excellent too!!
Restaurant service was good. The meal was fine but there's room for improvement. As a starter I had the Ontario artisanal cheese plate. There were three slices of cheese, a pile of Melba toast, the spiced pumpkin seeds were your supermarket variety and the dried fruit a handful of cranberries. For the main I had the gnocchi which was good. Gelato for desert wasn't gelato and it was served frozen stiff. It was flavourful though. The wines are well overpriced for the quality. But that's typical for the Waupoos Estates Winery.
September 2024 This is a lovely place. Many vines to be seen. Large grounds to walk around. A permanent tent is set-up for weddings. The oldest winery in Prince Edward County. A large boutique with a candy store and ice cream counter attached to the boutique. They have a herb garden which is most likely used for the restaurant. Open for lunch and upper. It is not cheap, but you pay for what you get. Would definitely recommend eating here for a wow experience. The food is fabulous and a lovely tranquil atmosphere. The Manager (?)/employee Dave was wonderful. He made our night. A super guy. I eat here every time I come to Prince Edward County. There is something special about having a meal and wine at a winery.
Our visit here was very pleasant. We were able to enjoy the wine tasting outside with a small charcuterie board and ended up buying a few bottles. Many varieties of wines for all palates. The property was very well kept and maintained, and it's the only winery in PEC backing up to the lake and Waupoos Island. No wonder why people come here to get married!!!
We went for a wine tasting/ tour and lunch, unfortunately it was raining..so we couldn’t go outside for the tour. BUT we had a host named Bill who was amazing! SO funny and knowledgeable he kept us laughing and entertained. We will be back for sure!!
Had a wine tasting and lunch at the winery. The staff were knowledgeable, interested in learning, helpful and wanting us to have a good experience. The setting is lovely. They are really moving toward a destination winery.
We had our wedding at Waupoos and what a BEAUTIFUL venue! The staff day-of and leading up to (Rikki!) were all incredible, food was excellent and the wine was great. Loved getting married here and would highly recommend to others.
Delicious countyliscous lunch today at Waupoos winery. Great service too! Highly recommend!!!
Enjoyed a memorable dinner here last weekend. Food was amazing and lovingly prepared. Each dish so well thought out! Our server, David, only added to this amazing experience. He was knowledgeable, attentive and ensured our every need was taken care of. Take some time to walk the grounds. Views are breathtaking.
Excellent!
Amazing place & delicious food for such a great value!
We had a fantastic Countylicious meal at Waupoos Restaurant this evening. The 3 course meal was beyond expectations and amazing value. We have done many Countylicious meals and Waupoos Restaurant and Merrill Inn tie for #1 in The County. Chef Kevin really knows how to prepare food from farm to table. David served our table and his wine recommendation for the Beef Bourguignon with a Waupoos Syrah was bang on. Looking forward to the upcoming cooking classes! Well be back.
We had the best time with David tasting wine and met with the GM Kyle and learned so much about the winery operation. Fantastic experience and staff. Highly recommend
Amazing experience with a large group of family of all ages. Dave and his staff were so kind and professional, food and grounds were wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Amazing brunch. Big portions. Fresh food. Excellent service. Wonderful views.
We had a Great Thanksgiving Weekend as we visited the Prince Edward County enjoying all the Attractions / Lake on the Mountain / Wineries / Restaurants - and most importantly the Fall Season Colours! Congratulations are definitely in order to the Management / Chefs / Staff of the Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant - as they portrayed an Amazing From the Farm to the Table Thanksgiving Menu together with their Great Customer Service and Generous Hospitality! Special Gratitude and Appreciation to Patti / Kelly / Dave / Isaiah - for their Great & Professional Personalities! Best Regards, Raphael Fernandes OLY!
Wine smelled and tasted a little off to our group. Nice estate though.
Fantastic experience at Waupoos booked a last minute tour and tasting and Patti was so accommodating gave us a great tour of the winery exceptional wines beautiful location absolutely no negatives a must stop for the wine enthusiast.
Beautiful restaurant located behind the wine tasting building. We ordered fish cakes and burgers with a few glasses of wine. We will be back for the fish cakes!! The burger was ok. They let you take your wine glass onto the grounds which is nice as property backs onto Lake Ontario. Meghan was very pregnant and very lovely. Congratulations on your upcoming celebration!
Amazing winery!
Had Great experience Food is amazing.. wine tasting also good Try it you will love it
Stunning location and views. Friendly staff. Wines we tasted were unfortunately underwhelming. Would love to return and try out their restaurant.
My husband and I had a fantastic time at Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant. The food was delicious, and the wines were top-notch. A special thanks to our lovely waitress, Abby, who was incredibly kind and attentive even though the restaurant was busy. We can t wait to visit again!
Not great for young kids. Great wine / cider. They even have a makeshift park for little kids, however they dont have a petting zoo as advertised. You might see some animals, but they have very large pens, so you may not see any animals.
A picturesque property, backing into the lake, well-maintained vines, good food, decent enough wines, a fabulous place that made for a memorable experience. Also, not super busy, I believe a hidden gem. Highly recommended.
We went for a winery tour and tasting and it was fantastic. Everyone is so friendly - we travelled as part of our honeymoon so got given a glass of their sparkling rose as well! Kathleen (I think?) our host was fantastic - we got to see the entire process including going down into the basement to see the wines fermenting etc. Unfortunately we didn t have time to go to the restaurant but the whole place was beautiful. It s also the only winery that backs onto the water so has some stunning views the others in PEC can t match!
Amazing service and food. We went to the BBQ event, and loved everything. Seriously recommend it!
I had a fabulous farm to table meal here while watching the thunderstorms roll over the water. Beautiful setting among the vineyard next to the lake and the food is local, fresh and perfectly prepared.
Amazing tour with Bill.... Wonderful time and experience...a big plus they have a free charger on site for electric cars !!!
A nice winery. Very scenic walk near the water.
Great place to experience local wines. Amazing staff and unique treats.
Had a wonderful time ! Bill did our tour and we were laughing the whole time. Great wine and food, a beautiful place. Thanks Bill #sniffswirlsipsavour
My daughters and granddaughter and I went on the wine tour and had lunch in their restaurant. Bill was our tour guide and host, he was truly amazing. We laughed so hard and had so much fun with him. The wine and snacks were divine not to mention the delicious lunch we all had. What a lovely place to enjoy the day with my girls for an early birthday! Thank you so much to all the staff and our favourite guy Bill
I looooved this vineyard. The wine tasting experience was next level, the recommendations were on point and the wine was amazing. Also, the venue a is incredible! I simply loved this vineyard. I highly recommend.
I recently coordinated a wedding at Waupoos and it was lovely! The staff are efficient and friendly. Not to mention the breathtaking scenery! I would absolutely recommend this venue to clients and would love to work here again! Photos by Kassandra Melnyk
as a wine enthusiast, my best friend and i decided to do a girls weekend and taste some local wine, and experience local farm to table. Waupoos exceeded all our expectations! our amazing server, Abby, was so informed about the wine and the food, had us giggling and her service was above and beyond what we expected. She took her time explaining the wines and food, and we never had our glass empty! I would highly recommend this winery for anyone wanting a lovely day out and enjoy the scenery. I would ask for Abby to be your server :) we will be back again soon!
$12 gets you 4 short tasters that are not good. Wine is just not up to the level of basic table wines. Unfortunately the winery is out of the way and not worth the travel effort - product or service.
Waupoos Winery is situated in one most beautiful corners of Prince Edward County, and, as one of the first wineries in the County, it was a pioneer for what has become one of the great wine producing places in Canada. Sadly, our experience at the restaurant would suggest that they are not keeping up with their site or its legacy. We only dipped our toes in the experience with an order of drinks and a starter, but, if the appetizer was good enough, it was far from generous. The few olives that were mysteriously piled on top of the hummus (I dont know anyone who dips their olives in hummus) were there to disguise the scant tablespoon of hummus on the plate. The drinks, a Manhattan and Aperol Spritz, seriously lacked in both flavour and value. The Manhattan tasted of cough syrup and the spritz was so watered down with soda and ice that it had no taste at all. At $12, the spritz struck us as a variation on shrinkflation - hydroflation perhaps? We compliment our server, however the hosts welcome needs a serious tune up. Its not optimal to offer guests the worst table on an otherwise lovely terrace, and then incredulously question the guests request that they move to the second worse table. Although he claimed that all the other tables were reserved, they remained empty for our entire stay. Alas, our tentative try of the restaurant at Waupoos Winery will be our last, unless there are some serious improvements to their reception and to quality and the value of their offerings. As a resident of the County, who would love to be able to go over after an outing at the Waupoos Marina, I really do hope things change for the way better.
On a whim we booked brunch what an enchanting spot! Hands down, the best Eggs Benny (with smoked salmon) ever. Eggs cooked to order, perfectly. Potatoes cooked without pork fat, as requested. Beautiful grounds to explore. Lovely wine tasting.
Very relaxing ambiance. The staff are very friendly and accomodating! Food is great and elegant service
Nice grounds and shop.
Great restaurant, you should book a reservation if you intend to eat..... and drink.
What an absolutely incredible experience! The poutine was unbelievably good so flavorful and satisfying. The spaghetti was mouthwatering, and every aspect of our visit was perfect. Our server was exceptional, providing top-notch service. A definite 10/10 dining experience!
Got married here and weve been back several other times as well. Always top notch in all aspects.
After doing some research, we decided to go to Waupoos for our anniversary dinner. We ended up being early - about 20 min before our reservation- but they got us in. The menu had a decent selection, and everything we had was delicious. They got my appetizer wrong, but were quick to fix it. The wine we had was wonderful. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely go back! I imagine that the summer with dining outside would be really nice!
Service was outstanding and we had a great time in the atmosphere. Giving a four due to food for a few small reasons. The menu writing for the Countylicious Brunch, small differences existed between what was written and what landed on the plate. My split pea and ham soup had a big hunk of just fat sitting on the top that would have been visible to the person plating. Lastly inconsistent cook on the fried eggs at the table, some had the yolk too far while others had undercooked whites. Really small details but that is holding me back from a five.
The service was food but we didnt care for all the wine. It could have been missing the Eclipse in the clouds that put us in a sour mood. Might try their food a d wine again during the summer.
Good option for wine tasting. They have really nice backyard open sitting area
Good wine!
Nice visit with wine tasting. It was very quiet in early December...
This is a very moce facility, spacious, bright, and modern. Quite a selection to pick from for tastings. However, it would have been nice if the server had (or perhaps just shared) more knowledge of the wines being tasted. If that was the case, this easily would have been a 5 Star reiew.
I had my wedding at Waupoos Winery in June 2022. Some things were great, but some things really bad. The wedding planner changed from one lady to another and I think the new planner was inexperienced. 1) beautiful grounds 2) dessert was horrible. It was a tart shell with jam in it when I asked for a strawberry tart with custard. 3) meals were great otherwise 4) wine and cider good 5) outdoor washrooms were disgusting. Guests went to the main building and restaurant. No one cleaned the washrooms. There were tonnes of bugs and cobwebs. For spending that much money, someone should have cleaned it. 6) fountain not working 7) no fan or ventillation in tent. Tent was dirty. I actually had the decorator cover the ceiling with fabric. Some weddings actually have them remove it and rent their own tent. To me this is very expensive and the venue should have a clean tent. I did ask Ricki to keep the tent closed so when the florist moved the flowers from the ceremony to the tent no one would go inside until it was set up. I was never told by doing this there were be no venilation. I would have rented fans if I would have known because it was super hot or left it open. 8) brought out the desserts when I told them to wait. This sped up the wedding and many guest left shortly after. The venue did refund us some money for the tarts. It was just really disappointing when their food is usually good.
Awesome winery!
This was our first visit to the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised as the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, the food was quite good especially the lamb, crispy pickerel, rhubarb pie and gelato. However, I would say the salmon was a bit too salty for our taste and the steak was slightly over cooked. The staff at the wine store are also friendly and helpful.
Great location, fantastic dishes well presented, great service
Nice place and good wines
Enjoyed our visit to Waupoos Estates and Winery in PEC. The property has a beautiful view overlooking Lake Ontario. Great venue for weddings and photography.
Went on a busy holiday. Experience in the tasting room/retail was poor, but largely due to understaffing. Felt sympathy for the employees but at the end of the day service is service & they did not handle the heat well. The wine was nothing in flavour, sparkling had no sparkle, no carbonation. Will not return.
Great people, great food. Beautiful scenery.
Visited this past weekend to propose to my girlfriend, Winery and Restaurant staff are all amazing (especially Patti ). Beautiful scenery and location, excellent variety of wines, and fantastic food. This is not a place to miss! Thanks Waupoos Estates Winery!!
To all lamb meat lovers; the lamb main course here is surely the best in this charming county. It s deliciously tasty & fabulously tender.
Appasimento Cabernet Franc, Amarone from the Prince Edward County!
Food was absolutely amazing. The scenery was lovely. They were woefully understaffed for a Saturday afternoon but the service was still lovely, albeit I could see how stressed everyone was. Will absolutely be back.
Exceptional farm to table fine dining! Thank you for a fantastic meal
Great setting, food, wine and service!
Good experience
What a fantastic experience! We went on Sat for lunch and although the girls were working by themselves, 2-3 at most and patio full with 4-5 tables inside, they did not disappoint. They were on the ball, food was delicious! and the view is beautiful. Such a great visit and definitely will return.
The wines are terrible, but the property is very beautiful.
Great service for Sunday Brunch, however I was underwhelmed by the condition of the restaurant, which is looking a little tired and could use a thorough clean. The food fell a little short of expectations, but the charcuterie was excellent. .
Lovely little spot to enjoy some wine, eats, and time by the water. Would recommend stopping in. Cheers
Went for lunch and it was very good And then took winery tour. Kyle was excellent tour guide
Lovely winery. Stopped in for a quick tasting
We came in as a party of 8 for lunch over the weekend. Food was extremely underwhelming. Everyones protein was overcooked and dry. Peanut-fed pork was dry and had zero flavour or salt. I looked around for salt and pepper shakers but they were absent from the dining tables. Almost as if the kitchen thought that their food was good enough to not have them as options for the diner. The apple-smoked chicken actually tasted good but was extremely dry. The burger was dry. The ragu pasta was basically... soup? It was a bit weird having all of the flavours sit in a sauce-broth while the pasta retained zero flavour since it was so watery. For the price point that they were charging, we were expecting to be blown out of the park, but we left feeling bitter and scammed. Not to mention we were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours. Our server was friendly and kind and apologetic. And thats the only reason for the 1 star. We get that a wedding was going on at the same time and that the kitchen staff was extremely busy. However in hindsight your restaurant should not have been open to the public because clearly while trying to accommodate a wedding, the restaurant diners were sacrificed. Unacceptable quality of food were sent out of the pass that afternoon.
We had a reservation at Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant on 29 July 2023 to celebrate a birthday with a group of 9 adults and 2 children. The entire meal took over 2.5 hours. Many of us opted for the lakeview tasting which comes with a choice of starter, one main, and one dessert. I had the heritage pork, which was completely devoid of any flavor and drier than a Christmas tree in March. The potatoes, which I think were supposed to be crispy were soggy and damp and under cooked. My dessert was the Waupoos flakie, which was worse than a 50 cent passion flakie. The cream tasted like liquid styrofoam, and was again, soggy and damp and devoid of flavour. Everyone at the table had a similar experience with the food. When we complained to the waitress, she said the chefs were busy with a wedding. All of the food tasted like it was premade in the morning and sat under a heat lamp for hours. I have never been so disappointed in a dining experience before. When the bill came, several people noticed the prices of the drinks were more expensive than the menu showed. When we brought that up to the waitress, she had to go talk to the manager to see if they could give it to us for the listed menu price. The manager never came out once to talk to us, even though we made our displeasure known. I would not recommend this place to anyone - especially not for a wedding! Beautiful views, but the food is truly sub par.
Our party of nine adults and two children did NOT enjoy our dining experience at Waupoos Winery and Restaurant. The restaurant was originally chosen because of great online reviews, however, after a horrendous 3-hour lunch due to slow service, we all left with an overdone taste in our mouths, all because of our meals that were you guessed it, overdone. The views of the restaurant were as described, but the two main areas for drastic improvement include the kitchen and the waitstaff. We had made a reservation via email through Rikki, a member of the Food and Beverage department. They had known of the arrival of our party for 12 days, which is plenty of time to properly staff their kitchen. Once the main courses arrived, (after an hour and a half wait), our party all agreed that our meals tasted dry and overdone. But by that time we were all so hungry, we ate our meals rather than send our food back (and thus have to wait even longer for them to be re-made). After voicing our displeasure of the meals, the waitress s response to the situation was that the chefs were busy preparing for dinner service for a wedding happening that night, and how she hopes for our repeat patronage. Weddings are usually booked in advance, and Waupoos could have made sure there was enough staff in the kitchen to handle both a wedding and the restaurant side of the business. The restaurant patrons should not have to experience sub-par food because of chefs that are overworked. Another area for improvement is the waitstaff. Had the waitress warned us before we ordered that the chefs were busy with preparation for the wedding, we would have had the choice of lighter fare for lunch or had gone to a different establishment completely. On top of that, the waitress s response was never directed back to the person who originally voiced the concern on behalf of the group. We were never offered anything other than a verbal apology for our wait and troubles. There was no manager that showed up to address our party either. To top off this less-than-stellar experience, there were many mistakes made with our bills. Each person at the party spent at least $50 to $100. Our lunch out to celebrate both a wedding anniversary and a birthday turned out so sour that we did not want to stay for a wine tasting afterwards. Needless to say, no one from the party will be recommending Waupoos Winery and Restaurant, nor will we be coming back.
I was here with a party of 9 on a weekend with some friends and it was the worst experience Ive ever had. Drinks were overcharged on the bills and our food quality was extremely poor. I ordered a pasta and it was sitting in a sauce that looked like plain pasta water. There was no seasoning or flavor in the food. The cheesecake tasted store bought. And we paid way too much for what we got for our money. Our waitress told us they were having a wedding that day, which caused everything to be delayed. We sat around for over 2.5 hours waiting for our food to arrive. The food was cold by the time we got it and they did not offer us anything in return for the inconvenience and poor quality of food. The waitress was nice and unfortunately had to be the one to apologize on behalf of the manager instead of the manager speaking to us directly. I will not be returning here and definitely do not recommend it to anyone
Beautiful place in a middle of the winery and near the water. Food was great. Waitress very nice. I recommend this place.
It was my first time to visit the place and it was impressive! Excellent wine products, friendly and helpful staff. A must see!
Really enjoyed the winery here. they had a lot of variety of wines. staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations. The atmosphere was very nice when we were there even though it was a rainy day and we were a tuesday.
Lunch was incredible. Chicken was excellent. Highly recommend
This is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon! My wife and I started with a tasting of 8 wines - 4 white and 4 red (they through in 2 more later....) we ended up purchasing 11 wines and the manager gave us a 12th on the house! The manager, Patti of the wine shop/tasting area was the absolute best and most helpful! After that we went to the restaurant for our 1230 reservation which turned out to be a wonderful delight. The service was fantastic and the food... Well, the farm to table is excellent! We watched the chef attend one of their herb gardens outside to use on our meal... Amazing and delicious! I highly recommend a visit...either for the wine, the food... Or preferably both. Just tell Patti the salt and pepper beard guy sent you!
Very nice building, lots of wine! Sorry for the three stars but just when I entered a winery with hopes of asking some specific questions on choosing a wine, there was only one staff in the room and she was so busy with pouring tastings. And looked much too young to answer my questions. Im sure if we had come at a different time it would have been different. It could be other staff were occupied with the restaurant and outdoor seatings. It is a winery with lots to offer and I do not wish to dissuade anyone from visiting. It just wasnt my day!
Was here for a wedding and it was perfect. I had salmon which was cooked perfectly, not easy when cooking for large groups. My friends had the beef which was also perfectly cooked and tender. The wine pairings were equally good.
Had a wonderful dinner and tasting.
Classy place with amazing food.
Unfortunately our server did not know a thing about any of the wines on the menu. Could not answer any questions or make a recommendation. Very curious for a restaurant on a winery. The scenery was nice, but we had a reservation and were seated against the exterior wall which was covered in dead bugs. Our food was fine, but not on par with the price. We were told that there was a wedding and that seemed to be the explanation for everything. I suspect that the restaurant should not be open on wedding days if they cannot accommodate it.
We moved to a home in the area today and had a wonderful late lunch. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Great setting, good food though pricey and wines were okay which I am not a fan of...
Beautiful place and scenery. The wines, however, didn t make an impact on me. I know that wine drinking is quite subjective so keep this in mind as you read. We had the 4-flight tasting. Two whites (honeysuckle and sparkling gamay) and two reds (red rabbit and cab frank reserve). Their description about their sweetness was not accurate. Some had a nice nose but little on the palate. Others, the opposite. It s clear I wasn t impressed by their wines. The same can be said about their prices either. Tasted better wines nearby at a lower price
Seemingly overstated Round table suggested no tables avail so we chose a later time-keeping in mind, walk in tables, the restaurant was less than 50% full. Average food Average prices Indoors of restaurant is loud / echoey
Lovely place for wine tasting, and stroll by the water, has a restaurant and is also equipped for large venues. Beautiful place, nice people.
Good service, delicious food.
Visited Waupoos Winery in May 2023 and finally got around to drinking the sparkling strawberry and raspberry wine we purchased for a reasonable price. It did not disappoint!! It smelled of fresh sweet fruit but tasted dry with a mild smoky finish. Great for anyone who is looking for a fruit wine that is not overly sweet. Would buy this again for sure!
Wonderful venue that caters to all. Great food and service and breathtaking views.
We came here because the website says you can charge your car while having a bite. When we got here, both chargers were turned off, and the employee couldnt enable them because theyre in a locked area. We barely had enough charge to get back to the main road. This is not a comment on the quality of the wine nor food.
Horrible Over priced compares to other wineries in the Niagara region Staff was very unfriendly Showed up with 12 people
Disappointing! Took our son and his girl friend there for lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant. Two received their main course and about 12 minutes later the other two meals were served. The chicken was so dried out and tough it was inedible. For the price s charged the quality was very poor and the server did not appear to be concerned at all.
Just visited the store unfortunately no time to experience the wine, maybe next time. Service was good. Thank you.
Beautiful spot, very friendly staff.
The apple wood smoked turkey is the best turkey I ever tasted. The service is great! I would say their chefs are the best in this area. Beautiful lake shore and winery yard is another attraction. Highly recommend them.
1st time having brunch lakeside tasting and amazingly was not disappointed but happily filling. Paired wine goes well with the food we ordered. Thanks to our friendly waitress and her service was well received. Definitely a fantastic meal before leaving this beautiful winery with a satisfying stomach.
Great service, great wines, incredible site ! Hope to enjoy the restaurant next time, closed on Mondays. Still very nice that they were open on Thanksgiving !
Super location, very scenic on the lake. Good wine and nice service. But the patio and the deck on the lake are definitely worth visiting.
Beautiful place to stop and do a tasting. You can walk the grounds with your wine. They have a candy shop with tasty chocolate so can take home.
Lovely place, but is this actually wine? If it were a blind tasting, I would have guessed some kind of vodka cooler or similar. Left an awful aftertaste.
Great brunch menu, amazing presentation, view and tastes. Service is very kind and friendly. One of the best places to eat when in PEC.
Visited in October 2023. Great winery! The Waupoos area is very scenic and worth a visit. We went for wine tasting and also had a charcuterie board. I would definitely come back to also try their restaurant.
Perfect spot for a wedding. So picturesque! Great views of lake Ontario. Highly recommend: baco noir & Bill! A real asset to the staff!
I want to give this 3.5. You can have a bit of a walk here. I would recommend the cider shop opposite. Very friendly service
Delicious! Very good.
Lovely location for a wedding with great staff, aesthetic, food and wine
The location is wonderful and beautiful. But the prices of just about everything didn t seem justified for the quality and quantity. Great staff though.
Scenic spot. We tried the Countylicious menu. Great meal in beautiful surroundings. Staff was friendly and made the event even more enjoyable.
Beautiful place and delicious wine flight! My complaint is that I bought two bottles of wine with our wine flights and the tip was on the entire purchase rather than just on the one flights. We actually brought our own flights to the table and back, so they hardly actually serve you anyway, and so to be charged tip on the entire bill left me with a sour taste in my mouth. At least not from the wine I suppose.
Brought a group of friends here for brunch on a Saturday and we were all so pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The furniture/decor has been updated inside and out vs. most of the pictures here now there s more of a Cape Cod vibe happening with that peaceful (and rare) waterfront view. And the food was amazing! The fixed price menu had plenty of great choices, the additional shared dishes were a nice touch, and dessert was delicious. Definitely worth the price. All this and a menu of mimosas to boot we ll definitely be back!
Enjoyed the wine tastings but didnt buy a bottle. The service was quick and description of the wines was efficient but not personable. Very nice back area close to the water. Alot of improvements of the years. There are now multiple seating areas, a restaurant and an outdoor wood-burning pizza oven.
I paid a visit to Waupoos Restaurant on two occasions within a week. My first visit was with my father who wanted to treat us to a dinner out. I booked online, no issues. We arrived and we re met with one of the hosts and seated outside. It was Sunday brunch so we had a choice on the set price menu. Everything was outstanding! The wood fired pita was served on a rock slab (Lovely presentation, ingenious) The Asparagus salad was amazing! I could have made a meal of this alone. I chose the Gnocchi as my main. My dinner companions had fish and the pork. Now..dessert .hold on to your taste buds! Tea and Lavender crème brûlée, smooth as silk, with a side of plum gelato. I m told Kyle does the desserts ..bravo! My second visit was no less than 6 days later for lunch with ladies that my father was treating for their respective birthdays. We had the same menu all over again, and it was just as delicious! Dessert this time featured the crème brûlée paired with hold on ..Rosemary and Spinach gelato! All the flavours were so harmonious. Way to go! The food, service and ambiance were all above my expectations.I can t wait for family to visit so that I can take them for a memorable dining out experience. This local will be paying a return visit.
Beautiful location, surprised at the charge of $12 for 4 tastings!
One of the best meals of my life. 5 courses of beautifully presented, farm to table food using some highly technical cooking techniques. Truly believe this restaurant will be a Michelin starred restaurant in the upcoming years if they can continue to create delight like they did for our party of 6. Highly recommend
Good selection of wines.
Delicious meal, fantastic location! Had the prix fixe brunch, all locally sourced food, perfectly prepared, and enjoyed on the lovely patio overlooking the water and the grounds. Service was excellent - a great balance of friendly and formal. Will be returning!
Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of wine in a picturesque setting.
Setting is lovely. We asked for tastings and got charged for glasses of wine, so best be more clear with what you want. The house blend was the nicer of the reds.
Amazing scenery and fantastic wines. If you want to impress your date, take them here.
Overall, we would give this a 4.0 stars. Everything was good and excellent until the main course. Quite disappointing. Not much flavour in the Pickerel fish dish. Beef dish was chewy, the group was expecting more tender and well cooked 36hrs cooked beef as advertised. Lentil risotto was all lentils and we were expecting a traditional risotto with lentil mixed in. The Wine and Service was very good!!!
Wine tasting was great.
The wine was lovely but the cheese board and charcuterie board was a joke! Don t waste your money! The walk around we found a great beach bar! The young lad was awesome!
Lovely Wines
We had an incredible Sunday brunch at Waupoos. Amazing location and service! We will be back
Beautiful spot. Ate by water. Food was great. We had tacos, turkey tenders and pouting Plenty of food to share.
Lunch was fabulous, as usual. They had a set menu with a great selection and we were all happy with our choices. Top notch service and wonderful setting. Thank-you and see you next time.
Lovely place to visit
Don t understand why they are serving breakfast for lunch, but food was good not great. Had an undercooked omelette, and lots of heavy cream. The mimosa was amazing but not enough to stop me from throwing up everything immediately afterwards. Save your money, go to Dennys.
Had Saturday brunch on patio of the restaurant on a beautiful summer day. We made a reservation 1 day in advance and we were very pleased that the restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 4 adults, 3 small kids, as well a small dog, on the patio outdoors. Gorgeous location with views of the vineyards and of the lake in the distance. Restaurant has just implemented a new 3 course brunch menu for $55 pp. They explained that the menu is based on a farm-to-table concept, which is really nice. Food was excellent and service was top notch. Overall one of the nicest experiences we had during our visit to PEC.
This place is utterly beautiful and the facility looks lovely. However, this was literally the only single stop we made all day that asked us to leave because of our little dog. Not one other tasting room or anywhere for that matter had an issue. In fact, most wanted to visit with the pup. So.... not dog friendly but if youre without a dog Im sure its lovely. It certainly looked wonderful!
Fantastic place to hang out, chill, relax with have a glass of wine with family and friends.
We visited this winery three years ago (pre-Covid times) and loved it so much then that we returned this week when we were in the area and we re pleasantly surprised with the new additions! The main building/store continues to be great with its excellent wine choices, store items and ice cream/chocolate venue. Outdoors is now also set up as a tasting spot where people were having a great time. Further down by the lake is now the greatest food truck with fun wine-based drinks and the greatest view of the water on a shaded patio. We had the smash burger which was one of the best I ve ever had!! (I m seriously thinking of driving five hours to go back to get another!!). The sangria was a great choice to pair with this. What a great way to spend an afternoon!!
Gorgeous location and impeccable personable service. We came here for the $55 prix-fixe brunch and it was incredible. Every course and cooked and plated with care and I loved that everything on the plate was grown locally on the Waupoos estate.
Officially our favourite winery in Ontario! Were close to Niagara on the Lake and usually go there for wine, but decided to change things up a bit and spend a few days in PEC. Of all the wineries visited, this was easily our favourite ever Great selection of wine, with wide variety of grapes all from that Estate. Amazing location. You can walk around, sit by the water on the Muskoka chairs for hours, sip on wine, have some cheese and crackers, relax and enjoy the view. 10/10 recommended
Sample tasted and purchased bottled for take home 6 kinds of tasty cider. We ordered 2 kinds of thin crust stone oven baked pizzas from the 6 types available. Great menu of salads and sandwichs.
Great place great wine great view
Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful property.
Not a long wait. A family of Swans accompanied us for a short distance.
Was here as a vendor to shoot a wedding. What an absolutely stunning location with equally amazing food and staff. If you are visiting the area make sure to stop for the food and drinks. Everything is farm to table and the staff working here take pride in what they do and have to offer.
We spent our day off enjoying this amazing location by the water. Sangria is amazing and we decided to try the food truck menu which had a great selection to choose from. Absolutely one of our favourites and will be back with family and friends.
Very disappointed, i am mobility impaired, tried to find a way to get some accomodation as the walk to get to the tasting was long. They never agreed to try to accomodate for me. I tried many winery in the County and it it the only place that I was not able to get served respexting my limitation
0/5 . Dont go there. We went there as a family with my handicaped mother, and even tho there was a handicap parking, there was a lot of walking to do, which is really difficult for her. She decided to try it, but to go to the tasting zone, she needed to do a huge detour, which could have been cut if the lady doing the testing would have been understanding. She refused to let her pass through a shortcut, and when we tried to find solutions like bringing the testing to her so she wouldnt need to walk all the way, the lady didnt even try to listen to us, she just said strictly said no to every little thing we said. So we finally turn around and went back on the road for another winery. Really bad experience. You should go to Del Gato winery instead, they were really accommodating and really patient with my mom. I was so disappointed from my experience to Waupoos estate winery. I hope the manager can write us and explain to us why all the wrong attitude from his/her employees. Dont go there.
I went there with my mother for a flight taste and the testing bar wasn t accessible easily for someone with limited walking. They had a really bad attitude with us and didn t even want to try to be accommodating, refusing every solution without even listening to us.
Beautiful grounds with a view of the lake, knowedgeable and friendly staff. Shared a flight of 4 wines with an ice wine ($12) . Of the 5 I tried the cab reserve and the baco noir were quite good. They also sell charcoutiere boards to pair and wines/cider/sangria - though we only stopped in for a tasting. Lots of outdoor seating and a pub/restaraunt on property Beautiful view of the lake and vineyard. They also sell gelato, meats and chocolate on site - and there is a cidery across the street.
A very nice vineyard, and a great little bar down by the water.
Commercialized
Wow, wow and wow....just let them do what they do best and take in the fine dinning, wine tasting and all around great experience...this staff is out of this world from the chef, waiting staff, wine tasting sommeliers and managers just a big thank you...food and wine were awesome, its the best way to end our stay.
Beautiful layout only. The wine is bad.
Their small curated brunch menu is thoughtful and very tasteful! The restaurant is newly renovated with beautiful aesthetics, with really pretty modern drink and dishware. My date and I ordered their Tomato Salad and Corn salad for starters, Rabbit Ragu Tagliatelle, Sausage stuffed toast poached egg with a side of mimosa. Our server Anna and hostess (didn t get her name) were extremely welcoming, friendly, very knowledgeable on the dishes and overall offered us amazing frequent service. I would absolutely come back based on the service and dishes at the restaurant here. Service 5/5 Food 5/5
Nice place to chill by the water have some amazing food truck eats, beer or wine. Increadable staff!
Delicious tasting menu, all grown/sourced from the property. Beautiful views - a fun place for a special evening.
Freedom and tranquility
Very beautiful winery. Near the water with great views, restaurant. Must visit
The place is great but the wines are unfortunately less so.
Beautiful winery . Ample samplings .
Really nice spot with seating on the wraparound porch and under gazebos in the back. Wedding and receptions can be booked here as well.
Friendly staff & a good selection of wines.
Lovely location and restaurant. Food was exceptional and absolutely delicious.
Thank you very much to Damien and the everyone at Waupoos winery . Great day to sit on the patio and enjoy a perfect meal with a great bottle of wine and company . Fantastic experience.
I am French-Italian and I define myself as a passionate foodie . I cook a lot too. My meal this evening was an extraordinary culinary experience. There is a lot of research on the part of the chef and no detail of the dish escapes him. Every bite is sublime and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves gastronomy. We will go back!
This is a must stop on a tour of Prince Edward County. The staff were knowledgeable and the beverages tasted great. Reasonably priced. Favourable views of the water and the vineyards.
Beautiful winery and tasty light a fruit white wines. Very nice staff as well!
Very nice place, but the food is disappointing for a gourmet meal.
Beautiful decor, but disappointing dining experience. The polite service unfortunately does not compensate for the evening meal in the restaurant and only the price of the gourmet menu is similar to the menu of this name. The balance of flavors is simply not there despite the research into the composition of the dishes. Not worth the detour.
Winery is very nice. The rating is for the restaurant, It is very overpriced for the quality of food. Had high hopes.
From the moment we arrived at Waupoos, we knew it was the perfect location for our wedding. From the newly renovated restaurant where we got to do our food & wine tasting, the lake-side cabana bar where we held our cocktail hour, the dock overlooking Lake Ontario where we held our ceremony, the gorgeous reception tent & covered dance floor, the charming farmhouse where the we held the rehearsal dinner and where the bridesmaids got ready on the day-of, the amazing wine and farm-to-table food, and the breathtaking vineyard Waupoos really was a dream venue. A very special thank you to Rikki, the event coordinator at Waupoos, who did an amazing job at answering all of our questions, and coordinating with our wedding planner and vendors to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. Rikki was always available to answer our questions and was present the entire day from morning to night she was incredible to work with!
Excellent wine & service.
OK wines and atmosphere. Probably best in nicer weather to be outside there.
Great food & wine
Had the worst experience here with a server named Anastasiya this past summer. She treated me and my family terribly and provided the worst customer service.
Food was incredible. Great atmosphere and beautiful views.
Winery is beautiful in every way . Havent experienced the resto . Seems pricey but its too early to tell . Will get back to you once i know . Kids are managed quite nicely . Thought the taser was a bit much but it really was quite satisfying to see . Atleast as effective as the scalding water on my previous visit . Bet the parents bought one too !
First time visiting here and it was an experience. Large estate with so many areas to sit and rest and/or eat. Great selection of wines in all colours and types. We took our flights outside and sipped them on the balcony overlooking the estate. Knowledgeable staff who guided us to sample towards our likes. Purchased a number of bottles to enjoy for later. We wandered around and saw bins of apple mash. They have a nice lunch spot near the water with comfortable seating where you can dream the day away. Big white tents Im certain used for weddings or special events. Everything is so well maintained. If youre in the area, take some time to visit. Well be returning for certain.
