We came for lunch and we all really liked it! Were not from the neighborhood, so it was a great discovery! Spicy shrimp, mussels, Egyptian eggplant and squid are a must!

A MUST for seafood lovers ! Super fresh seafood and made to order. Had the amazing tender octopus salad and delicious grilled shrimp. Order by weight, tell them how youd like everything prepared, and eat !

For us it was a novel experience to have dinner in a fish market, but it seems to be popular with many people in the neighborhood. The process is that we could choose any kind of seafood that they had on ice and they would cook it for us and serve it with either french fries or rice and salad. Their selection was varied and fresh and the standard plate with salad and rice accompanied well. I had a bit of trouble getting used to the interrogation style lighting, and it took a couple of tries to understand how things worked. Also, they have no liquor licence and we thought a nice white wine wouldve gone well... All in all though we can see why its popular. Vegetarian options: None that I know of, though pescitarian for sure.

I have no words to describe how delicious is the fish, the special sauce and spices they have THE BEST IN THE WEST And of course we had the best service by MOHAMMED MOUSSA

Everything was delicious, especially the grilled salmon

The fish served is frozen, the guy at the fish counter told us that the fish comes with fries, rice and salad. We finished eating and never got a salad. The waiter seemed angry and never asked if we needed anything else. They put two dirty cups (pitchers) of water, we could see traces of blackness on the pitchers. The fish has no TASTE, for 9 people and almost $500 worth of fish, they served us only one half-filled plate of fries. We left disappointed on every level.

This place exceeded our expectations, simply exquisite! Weve been going to Rayan all this time and Im so happy to have found this place. Its sooooo much better. Everything dish was delicious, my favorite being the spicy grilled shrimp and grilled octopus. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Personally I dont go back there anymore. The restaurant accepts a capacity of people much more than it can serve. We were packed like sardines . And the service was poor. I had to help the waiter clear the table so I could have our celebration cake. The noise is infernal. We were a group of 10 people. Different kinds of fish fillets were ordered. We had it at the same time and the waiter didnt know the type in the dish...so we didnt know the dish was intended for who! I didnt like this concept of not being able to have all your dishes at the same time. The sayadeya rice only tasted of cumin in large doses. The shrimp were good. Sorry but there are other restaurants of the same type that are much better organized and we eat there with pleasure. A good reorganization is required in my opinion.

This is a must try spot. Had grilled scallops, octopus, bronzino and fried calamari. As sides we had salad, rice , and grilled veggies. The octopus and scallops were my favorite. Everything was super fresh and seasoned greatly. Drove 45 minutes to get to this place and would definitely do it again if I end up back in Montreal again.

First time there and I love how you can see the food youre going to eat, the food was delicious. The soup was next level. I love how the calamari was a nice size, you can tell theres quality. The restaurant is very clean, everyone there was kind. I will 100% go back and bring my family!

Great food, fresh fish, on display, you choose one and they prepare it the way you want. The rest of the menu is also really good. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and facilities. The food is simply amazing, they also have a selection of good desserts.

Loved my experience here! I ordered shrimp, calamari, and fried fish and everything was delicious (the soup and potato wedges were also both great!). The food was fresh and very well seasoned, and the staff was friendly. If you love seafood this is definitely a must-try!

They have a great variety of seafood and everything I tried was excellent! I was a little worried at first because we were a pretty big group but our server was very accommodating and everything went smoothly. First time there but not the last!

Foods always great, service is pretty fast. The only time it took long was on Christmas. They were overwhelmed with a lot of orders. The mom was very apologetic and when we got the food it was amazing.

So expensive for normal tests, i wait my order 45 minutes in the end i take it to go , miss communication between the the staff , i asked 3 waiters for my order and every time give me excuses first time the dish takes time then they don t know if i ordered 2 fish and chips or one ( which is fried fish not fish and chips) after that they disappeared in the end i went to the front of the kitchen to see what s going on when i said i don t need my order on that time it was ready it looks so bad, the problem is the owner watched and heard everything but she didn t do anything at least apology about delay order,,, no they keep lying to me, it was the first and last time, my advice to who is reading my review don t believe social media ever, last thing they saying Atlantic fish but Certainly not it s farm fish, i know from my experience as a chef French cuisine .

The grilled octopus is absolutely phenomenal! I also had the tiger shrimps, and the salad/sauce on the bottom tasted like heaven. Highly, highly recommend this place!

Poisons and seafood prepared following the selection. The octopus dish is one of the best ever. The squid and shrimp were excellent. Everything was delicious. But what I dont understand is that merlin costs more than shrimp. You can see in the photo it was 6.

I ordered to go to try them for thr first time- I found it somehow on the expensive side, thr fish were fresh however they used cumin in most of their dishes which I didn t like on a personal note - so if I will order next time, I will make sure to inform them not to put any cumin. They missed on small fish which was strange, since I ordered 6 and when I reach home it was 5 only. I didn t try the dine in, thr service was ok.

They did 3 mistakes in the sevice but the food was great at a good price. Tuna was too cooked. Grilled octopus is amazing. Recommend it!

Excellent octopus salad; the Fish and Ship was also excellent. First visit: the staff was very pleasant and courteous because we did not know how the controls worked. Its good!!! I should have gone there before! Wheelchair accessibility: its on the first floor but Im not sure the door is wide enough, unfortunately. Once inside, its cramped but the staff would move the tables/chairs to let you go to the counter to make your order, Im sure! Parking: Ordinary shopping center parking at the intersection of 2 boulevards. Kid-friendliness: high chair available, children are welcome.

Finally got my fish and seafood loving family here for dinner ! The food was SO amazing and SO tasty. The grilled fish (salmon and tilapia) was perfection and portions generous. The batter on the fish (and chips) was delicate and delicious so the taste of the fish was the focal point. The octopus salad was really really good (but too much salad dressing) Definitely a new favorite and we will be back to try other things on the menu !

It reminds me of Egypt s kitchen authenticity Many varieties of fresh seafood kept in open freezer display that you can select from adds a speciality to the place. The restaurant is soo clean, staff is super friendly and the owner is taking care of all details. Le Canal is a restaurant i would love to visit again and again !

I recently visited this restaurant for the second time in a while. It makes a huge difference when you have a manager who is passionate introducing you to the options and tastes with their recommendations. Plus when they have fun doing it, you can see the vibe reciprocate into the quality and value of the food. Definitely the best seafood place as of recent that i have visited if you want a sit down or take out for traditional high quality Mediterranean. I had Calamari, mussels, grilled shrimp and shrimp soup. The calamari were thick and juicy (not over fried or bottom of the pan quality). The shrimp baste was amazing with the mussel lemon garlic. Will definitely return.

The food is amazing and the staff is great. Really enjoyed our experience today. The only downside is the crowded seating and the strong smell of the seafood. With proper ventilation and a more spacious dining area it would easily be 5 stars.
