I called to request a donation for a local family who had suffered a tragic loss, hoping for a small gift certificate (between $25-$50) to help raise funds. When I asked if the person I spoke with had five minutes to discuss the request, his response was "for what?" in a rather aggravated tone. After explaining the reason for my call, I received very emotionless responses. He mentioned the struggles of the restaurant industry post-COVID and how he was barely able to pay his own mortgage. When I clarified that the gift certificate would likely drive business (as the recipient would need to spend beyond the gift's value), his response was, "I get what you're saying, but $25 isn't going to do anything. It's at least $100 per person, but I'll think about it." Given the lack of empathy and unwillingness to engage positively, I decided not to move forward with the request and ultimately withdrew it. I’m disappointed by the response and would hesitate to support this business moving forward.
Meant for the true foodies who appreciate food made with true thought and precision. Found from google reviews and so happy I did. Easily found right across from the fire house. Amazing service, absolutely delicious food made with care and attention. Not your typical menu where you can count on it being the same each place. For the real deal foodies. Lovely relaxing atmosphere.
We've dining here many times and the food is aleays amazing. Service is top notch too. When you want a tablecloth, nice cutley and a fine evening out you cannot go wrong going there. To start we had cod paddies and beef cappaico, so delious. Then for mains I had the cod and it was perfectly prepared and so tasty. My wife enjoy a pork chop, but it was so tender you didn't need a knife, just marvelous. My daughter enjoyed the roast chicken with a cheese risotto. Spectacular 😍. Dessert was a wonderful "apple" made of chocolate and I don't know what, but it was so good. 100% recommend.
This place honestly blew me away. The atmosphere is so nice and quaint, the staff were lovely and the food, oh my God. Incredible. It is on the pricier side but honestly 1000% worth it. Treat yourself and come here for a beautiful experience. Even tried things both my friends had and it was all delicious
This place blew my expectations out of the water. This was truly a culinary experience from start to finish. The food quality and flavour were unbelievable, something I wasn't expecting. I would highly recommend this place for a romantic date, business meeting or if you just want to have a fantastic meal. Chef Gordon keeps the menu small and fresh, based on what he's buying - for example he will buy half a cow, do his own cuts and pre the menu based on this. The service was also great, it is a family run business and would highly recommend you visit. The prices seem high at first, but once you have the first bite you can see why. This ranks as a tie for the best meal ever for me, tied with another restaurant in Vancouver that costs twice as much. I am not exaggerating by saying that this restaurant should be considered for the Michelin Guide. it is simply that good!
Just the right serving size and very exquisite. The food looked so delicious that we forgot to take pictures before we ate.The waiters are very nice and helpful too. However, the food is very expensive.
I only thought to take photos half way through our meal... My wife and I went here for our anniversary. It was a wonderful experience. I've always seen this place, but never knew it was a restaurant, and had no idea it was the level of restaurant that it is. First off, the staff were so friendly. It felt more like friendly conversation than a business transaction, plus they were so interesting! I just wanted them to join us for food and chats. The food was amazing. We had the French onion soup followed by the ravioli and ragu over gnocchi. For me, the basil tomato sauce was the star of the show. Soooo good. We finished up with a sticky toffee bread pudding on vanilla ice cream. I'm always most impressed by good soups and good desserts. Both cases were brilliant. My only sadness was learning that Chef simply didn't have time to do cooking classes. Oh well. I'll just have to go back. Side note: I loved the dishes.
The food and the service was phenomenal. We had made a reservation and once seated the waiter noticed I was having an issue and offered to move us without me even asking. We were looking for fine dining food with a little more casual atmosphere and this place nailed it with the food, service and ambiance. My husband ordered the steak (medium) and it literally melted in your mouth. The seasoning they used was outstanding as it added flavor without taking away the taste of the meat. I had the chicken which was perfectly cooked. From the great service to the amazing food, this is a hidden gem and we will return!
Beautiful food, awesome service, worth every penny.
The prices are high and the portions are small. I didnt find the cordon bleu to be good, The birthday girl I was with was super disappointed with her chicken. It was tough. Vegetables were tough too. Would not recommend. Food
On a recent visit to the area I was delighted to see the Firehall Bistro was still operating. It had been nine years since my last visit and it was still as enjoyable as I had remembered it to be. Beautifully prepared and presented meals, excellent service and a lovely ambiance. When first married eating out was a luxury, and it s become a luxury again. So, making the right restaurant choices is important. We all deserve to treat ourselves occasionally, and I defy anyone to walk away from this dining experience and be disappointed. Locally owned restaurants like the Firehall Bistro deserve to be supported.
Love coming here, the food is great and people are amazing. Couldn t recommend it more!!
Tonight is the second experience in 2 years -- the hiatus only because life is busy and we didnt have an opportunity to return til now. This time was for a special birthday. Things had not changed, and that is an excellent thing. The decor is very bistro-like with separate tables or booths depending on preference. The food, from opening bites through to the main courses was excellent (tonight: coq au vin and vegetarian risotto courses). We really enjoy the ambience and excellent wait staff. You are treated as family, in a casual, yet expert style of service. We were able to bring in our own birthday cake as they didnt have that dessert on site and they were very accommodating in plating it to the table. As we live near Fort Langley, Firehall Bistro is literally minutes away over the Golden Ears Bridge and so, for the quality of food and service, so much more convenient than even travelling to Langley City, let alone Vancouver.
Food nicely presented and flavorful.Reasonable price
Delighted to discover a spot of this calibre without having to drive downtown! Highly recommend
Absolutely lovely! Food, ambiance and service was fantastic.
Great quality food! Not overcooked. A bit expensive but food prices have undergone serious inflation recently. Vegetarian options: Small. Menu but still a delicious veg option Parking: Street parking
Very good service and super nice owners/staff but very expensive. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options limited but I would think that is because the menu is not huge to start with so that is ok. Parking: Parking was great no problems at all.
Anniversary dinner date, turned out to be a pleasant surprise - first impressions was the ambience - music barely audible unlike the big name chains in the vicinity - started with a garnache and a basket of bread - starters included a ceasar salad and a prawn conference in a bowl - mains were the ravioli and the special skirt steak - dessert was a nougat icecream with an orange chantilly cream - the experience was a decadent one indeed - overall a super evening - this place deserves a few more visits, we recommend it!
First time here, definitely wont be the last! We enjoyed our dinner very much. I also found a new favorite drink!
If I could give six stars, I would. This restaurant is amazing. The chef is an artist, and everything produced tastes delicious. There are not enough positive words to truly convey how epically wonderful my experiences have been at this restaurant every time I have been able to go.
Just realised we had never done a review on here. Weve been to the Bistro many times as a couple and with friends and weve always had exceptional service and food. Food is fantastic and up with the top places, downtown. Its at the higher end. Staff are fantastic, friendly, knowledgable and always remember you. Its a real pleasure to visit the Fire Hall, our favourite place to dine.
Wow what a welcome surprise. Food was amazing, service was very good.
The food is so tasty, and theres a very nice variety and selection. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and the staff were so knowledgeable and kind with their service. Will definitely dine here again, especially with more friends too
Awesome home cooked fresh meals loved it
Yummy food. I ve been wanting to go for a long time, but was limited by their hours. I made it there for the first time yesterday. The prawn bisque was amazing. The menu apparently changes weekly , since everything is local. The food was also served hot, which many restaurants can t seem to grasp the concept of.
Amazing food, highly recommend their lunch menu. Prawn bisque was delicious.
After seeing the google reviews we wanted to give this place a try before going to a movie. Their website said they open at 4:45pm, then when we put it into google maps it said 5:15pm. When we arrived they were closed, and we could see a sandwich board sign inside that said they open at 6pm? It would have been nice to try this place but thats pretty hard to do when you cant find any consistent or accurate information for the operating hours.
Pip was, as always, Outstanding as both Host And Server extraordinaire.
The menu was very small pickings. The roast chicken was very dry. The high prices did not match the small portion of food. $ 49 for a small touch sirloin steak, $ 37 for small and dry chicken. Our bill for 2 people was $180. Wont go again.
Update!! Went again tonight Aug 2 2023 and still wowed by the food and service. I just came back from Europe and this restaurant is the closest thing to fabulous European dining + proper service!! The people complaining about how small the menu is don t have a clue about restaurants Wow amazing!!! You know you re in a fine dining restaurant when the menus are paper with a very fine, select menu. The food was excellent, the service was superb. I am a very picky person with restaurants, if you re like me and sick and tired of paying high prices for box chains restaurants selling you frozen foods, come to this place and enjoy!! Family owned and operated Bon appétit!!
Hidden gem! Elevated atmosphere in a quaint setting. Food is next level, uniquely crafted and attention given to the smallest details. Worth the drive to Pitt Meadows.
Firehall Bistro is a hidden treasure! This is our go to place when we want to have a fine dining experience. The food and service is absolutely top tier. Never been disappointed!
The patio in this picture does not exist, went there because of the patio, patio is closed all the time, not set up, dirty , owner basically does not care to open it said that we were the first to ever ask for the patio... bull%#&*... Super expensive ! Food quite average, only a few items in the menu, very title options, tiny portions.... no ambiance at all, little space, still has glass between tables but in a cage like feel... Use your money wisely and go somewhere else....
Firehall bistro has always made us feel welcome and the experience is hard to match. Calling in to make reservations and before I can make any requests I am met with shes vegetarian isnt she?. Truly amazing service and care Food
Limited menu, excellent food, friendly staff. Very price.
What a fabulous little Bistro in Pitt Meadows!! My cousin and I met up for our quarterly dinner. I was greeted with a warm smile and seated at our reserved table. Its a small space, with maybe 10 tables in total, but cozy and well-kept. We had the beef carpaccio (SO good, well balanced with flavour) and their feature appetizer a braised short rib cabbage roll (their sauce was sweet, tangy and the short rib was fork-tender!!) We shared a tarragon chicken that sat on a bed of creamy risotto. The chicken skin was well rendered and the meat (a bone-in thigh) was juicy and flavourful. The risotto was cooked to perfection, with just a bite to the grains of rice and in a creamy, decadent sauce. Its definitely on the more expensive side, but worth it for a splurge meal! Theres free street parkin in front of the restaurant with a few dedicated spots in a garage behind the restaurant. Its a bit hard to find as signage is covered by foliage, but its on the corner of the building, opposite of the fire hall! Be sure to go to the washroom as youll get a peek into the kitchen!
Lovely atmosphere and service. A small wait for good bit it was perfectly prepared, presented and tasted fantastic. Price point is high, but matches the quality. Perfect for a special celebration.
Very good
I always love going to the Firehall Bistro. We are always warmly greeted and the food is excellent.
Ive been here twice, exceptional food. Easily the best in Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows.
My fiance and I visited the Firehall Bistro recently for an anniversary dinner and had such a fantastic experience! The service was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was phenomenal. We enjoyed an appetizer and dessert along with our main meals and enjoyed everything. Great place for a special occasion or celebratory meal.
Absolutely amazing dinner! We had side-by-side prawns, caesar salad, french onion soup, chicken (me), steak (my partner) and 2 luscious desserts. The food was simply amazing, the service was friendly and courteous and the cleanliness impeccable! In the Covid Era this is the place to go. Make a reservation though as there is limited seating and only 1 sitting. Well worth the effort to go!!! A gem for the area! Lets keep it open!
Sad to see they still support the segregation of people. Shame on you!!
Was in from Out of Town and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The staff was very nice and attentive, the chef even came and spoke with us to make sure our meal was perfect. The food was amazing! The menu is limited, but has something for everyone. When I am back in town I will definitely be back!
Delightful food and service.
This is a hidden gem in Pitt Meadows. Everything is delicious and the service is amazing. We go here for special occasions.
Been going here off and on for years, after Covid it was my 60th Birthday so of course this is my favorite Resturant, I want to tell you the Chef can cook up a Downtown dinner in his sleep. My Birthday my rules, ordered the Mussles or Clams, dont remember as I am old...lol but I am allergic but its my 60th so I ordered them anyways, amazing, omg amazing. Rhen a nice bottle of wine, sure it was $60.00 who cares, the the main, one of, no the best Steak I have in my entire life had, yes $60.00 but on trend for my Birthday and the desert. I have to say in all my time this, this 5 star review does not give it all a higher number as it was 10 out of 10. Thank you for being there for my day. Jumped over the cliff at a great place.
My Fiancé and I went here right after getting engaged and it was a great experience! They were so nice and friendly! The food was fantastic.
Great lunch menu! Classy dining
EXCELLENT!!!!! I read the negative reviews, almost diddnt go tonight, but Im glad I did. Place is small but nice, great service, unbelievably good quality food. No one was rude, portions were normal, The prices are high but wjat do you expect, its a high end establishment. Im not sure what the bad reviews were about, prolly some Karen like always. Will go back. Will recommend to others. Go check it out.
Ordered beef bourginon, was sent coq au vin because they were out of beef b, and charged $15 more. If this was Boston Pizza I d be mad, but at the bistro, you put your faith in the chef for a culinary experience and it never, ever fails to impress me.
Always love our meals and service at the Firehall Bistro. However, last night was particularly special. I was bringing my sister from out of town who has a lactose intolerance. I phoned ahead when I made my reservation and let them know. The chef made sure there were good choices on the menu fir her and made a gorgeous lemon sorbet with blueberries dairy free dessert for our celebration. Always a great evening but we were so grateful for the care they took. And I had the best roasted artichoke/mushroom soup ever to start. Dietary restrictions: If you give several days notice when you reserve, they will accommodate diets Parking: There is street and undercover parking in the evening Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking, level entrance
Incredible food in our little town. Balanced, full of flavour. What a gem!
Great service and amazing food! Its a small place so its best to make a reservation and its slightly on the more expensive side for dinner but completely worth it.
Really great food and atmosphere staff are friendly. A local restaurant that has not only great tasting but also great plating.
Awesome family run restaurant that deserves more recognition than they get. 6 out of 5* for service and food. High end food at moderate prices. Had 2 entrees, 2 8oz glasses of wine, 1 Ceasar drink, 2 shots of tequila, all for $110 with taxes. Highly recommend this little gem. Definitely going to be on the list for usual date night dinners
Great spot for dinner. Amazing service and great food. All at a fair price. Family run operation that knows how to take care of their customers. We will be back many more times. Cant wait for Covid to be over so we can go with friends and share the incredible experience with them!
Fantastic find for a romantic meal, celebrating or business lunch
Very homely and cute. The Menu is a bit restrictive for vegetarians but the server assured us to accommodate our food choices if booked a week in advance. The multiple courses were tasteful and pleasing to the eyes and the taste buds. Will be back again.
Limited selection ,but the food was awesome & service was great
Food is absolutely amazing. Great COVID protocols in place. We will definitely be coming back and supporting this family owned local buisiness.
Excellent experience. Great food and great family owned place. Will come back for more.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food!
Always good...great food, excellent personal service...just a great local dining experience. Thank you Firehall team for a wonderful evening, again!
Very nice restaurant! Hidden gem in Pitt meadow!
Really really really nice, fine dining experience. Had the French opnion soup, side by side shrimp, ragu and pork loin. For desert the Pear and the sticky toffee pudding. Everything exceeded expectations!! Thank you to Pip too for a great service!!
Skip going to Coquitlam Langley or Vancouver for dinner. Tucked away in pitt meadows is a great little gem. Great atmosphere for a date The food was delicious and the presentation was great
Great little bistro in Pitt Meadows, solid mentioned and friendly staff.
Been several times. Food always excellent and service is great. Would recommend to anyone.
Pasta Carbonaro and Flat bread , both good choices. Four of us visited today at lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and great service. Our fourth or fifth visit and it remains a Pitt Meadows favorite.
Excellent food and superb service. Highly recommend.
Great food & great service!
We love this place! The food is awesome, the service is spot on, and the wines are reasonably priced. Best Resturant East of Vancouver
Outstanding food. Wonderful service. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Delicious food and great service!
Always amazing at TFHB. Friendly staff and delicious food. Time slows down when youre there.
I never had a meal I didnt love at the Firehall Bistro. A lovely experience start to finish every time. Pip is an absolute doll.
Just well done. You know passion lives here.
Lovely little spot in the eastern suburbs. A restaurant quiet enough to have a conversation in! Thank-you! I wish there were 2 or 3 more places like this out here (downtown PoCo, please!). Great, friendly service, limited but varied menu, and delicious food. The wine menu has a selection of good value/cost wines, and beyond. Id recommend a reservation for 4+ at all times.
The fact that this place doesn t have a 5 star rating, is proof people will complain about pretty much anything. Fine dinning without having to deal with Vancouver
Las two times we went there service and the food was not good. Place is getting dated. They dont treat you well as a coustomer. It used to be very nice! Not anymore.
My wife and I will return here again soon. The food was absolutely amazing.
Always high quality food and service.
The food is excellent. European style prep. Very rich flavors. The desserts are outstanding. Gordon the owner and the usual server is amazing. Ridiculously attentive with being obtrusive. A wonderful dining experience.
The Firehall Bistro offers great value. The food is fantastic and you get a level of culinary sophistication you would normally expect only in downtown Vancouver.
Good food. Nice atmosphere.
Great food. The waitress is just wonderful!! Food is top notch and very nice and quaint inside.
The food is amazing. Service spot on. Great place for a romantic date night.
Excellent, food and service.... Everytime!
I was going to go to this restaurant until I read the responses to reviews from the owner. I cant believe how rude the responses are! Youre better off not responding at all.
great food
The food and service is always excellent!
Amazing
Have 3 or 4 cheeseburgers first
Absolutely delicious and the service was fabulous. Will definitely return!
The service was superb! A hidden gem in Pitt Meadows. Classy and elegant.
Food was delicious, but beware of hidden costs. Asked for some hot water to drink and was not warned that they would charge me $1.25 for water. They offered me lemon, I said yes, please. That was another $1.00 for 1/2 lemon cut into slices. Again, not informed ahead of time. Also, waited over 30mins for server to come by with the machine for credit card payment.
A great little gem tucked away in Pitt Meadows. Staff is wonderfully friendly and professional and make us feel like family. Food was unreal. The flavour combinations and presentation was unmatched.
A hidden gem in the heart of our home and well worth the visit. The service was spectacular and the food was perfection. Definitely will be returning again.
Have gone to this restaurant twice now, and the second time I was having doubts but it was a birthday dinner. Service is nice. Food is o.k. Prices are high for location and quality of food that is served.
Excellent food; good ambience.
Great food, excellent swrvice, a bit expensive
Love the quality dining local
My wife had Coq au Vin, I had short ribs. Really tasty. Great service. Sticky Toffee pudding was also very good. If the portion was 30% larger for the short ribs it would have been perfect. Lovely hide away Bistro!
First time eating here. Was invited as a family for dinner. Small restaurant, but accommodated us 8 quite well. Very courteous service, never had an empty glass of water. The menu was very limited and things may not be available a certain day. One of the best pastas ive ever eaten. The portions could be bigger because it is quite pricy. But you do pay for quality over quantity and I understand that. The dessert was arranged so pleasing to the eye. Flavors were spot on. Id recommend coming here if you dont mind the price.
Just returned from another anniversary dinner at the Fire Hall Bistro. The complimentary canopies were great. We started with shared goat cheese salad and caramelized onion & gruyere appetizers. They were great. We especially liked the goat cheese salad. I had the Paella which was fairly peppery. Of course one expects Paella to be spicy. The seafood selection was great, everything was tender. My wife had the beef tenderloin which was terrific. It was served with shoestring fries that had been coated before cooking. They were tender and tasty. The appetizer and main course portions were generous enough that we had no room left for dessert. It was Good Friday but the restaurant was still at capacity. Even with that number of dinners, staff were efficient, courteous and friendly. Most mains are under 30. The tenderloin was 40. Why drive an hour into Vancouver when fine dining is right here in our own backyard.
Same menu, not a good variety of food, very small portions of food have to order a few appetizers to fill you up, ordered beet salad it was tastey, but not worth the price of 15.00 for like 5 beets and not even a handful of lettuce! Wine for a glass is the price for a semi decent bottle of wine, have been a few times but too pricey for what u get. Dont like that I have to ask for cracked pepper.
Great food, love the soup, best steak ever. Everything is special.
Amazing food, excellent service and pretty presentation! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dinner experience
Not just delicious but truly beautiful food that you can enjoy with all your senses!
Still the same great food and service, weve been going here for years.
My favourite local restaurant. The food is amazing, service is witty, always make a reservation!
This little spot in Pitt Meadows never ceases to impress me. The food is brilliant and the service is first class.
Food was ok, sauces were mayonaissy and dessert was dry. We were not able to say anything as the servers would not make eye contact from the point we received desert. No water, no how is it, totally ignored. When we finally got a male servers attention he said well I picked up your plates didnt I. Wow what rude and terrible service. When I mentioned it again as we left he said I already heard it.. $150 bill and the rudest service we have ever ever experienced. It appeared he was use to the complaints. Lost someone who could have been a long term customer. Not going back.
The food and service is great. But the portion sizes are so small for the price it left me disappointed overall.
Great setting and outstanding service with good food selections. Decent wine list with fresh house wine offerings by the glass. The lacking part is the food quality itself unfortunately. With all due respect I like the restaurant, but the food is leaning on the sub par side for the price. We had the Paella and house made raviolli. Paellas flavoured is unbalanced with overpowering notes from the celery and tomato sauce that completely masked the seafood essence that is hall mark to paella. Raviolli is fine, nothing stands out and the portion is on the smaller side. All in all, great finer dining option in town but I personally wouldnt go back.
Looks are deceiving, this place presents well but unfortunately the kitchen can not accommodate gluten free. Recently had lunch there, requested a gluten free burger and a salad, pretty simple order for even the most junior staff. Less then an hour after paying the bill ended up with guts in a knot. If you have any food allergies I would highly suggest staying clear of this place.
We came across this family run restaurant by accident while passing through Pitt meadows. The food quality was excellent. The service was pretty good too and Its family friendly. Having tasted food all over the world we can certainly say that this is one of the best in Vancouver. I must say we find some of the negative reviews on here bemusing. Unfortunately the local crowd is used to going somewhere to pig out for little money and have no concept of fine dining. If you want to go somewhere to stuff yourself the local mcdonalds is a better choice.
Overpriced chef boy r dee
Always original, always flavourful and always top notch service
Great place great food and service
Best restaurant in town. Thanks for being so passionate about your food and service. You always surprise us with your hospitality!!
Great atmosphere, amazing food if youre a meat eater :) but little (or nothing) in the way of vegan/vegetarian options.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and staff. Gord and Pip have great personalities and went over the menu and features in detail. Next time were going for the prawn bisque as she made it sound amazing. One of us has allergies and the staff went out of their way to accommodate the requests. For the next time, they recommended phoning ahead with the allergies and the kitchen will prepare ahead. A true gem, great atmosphere and service.
Dont come here hungry because the food is delicious and youll empty your wallet And credit card, and still want more.
Limited menu by good variety. Service was spectacular. We brought our two kids and they were able to adapt some menu items to accommodate their palates. The calamari appy was perfectly breaded and seasoned and my entree, a pork belly special, was fantastic.
You must go !! Lovely owners and food is to die for. 5 th time there and each amazing food. When u depart that night u will feel special.
Amazing chefs creations. Delicious and awesome service
Food was amazing, smaller portions but that meant we could try more! Price was totally reasonable as well for the delicious food we ate.
Elevated dining for down to earth people At places like this, you know youre going to pay $$$$ for a food and service experience before you go. The question is, are you going to get what you pay for? The Firehall Bistro gave us our moneys worth and more! I left the place feeling like I ripped them off. When you feel like that, everyones a winner. We started off with a Caesar salad and a baked brie salad with honey vinaigrette. For entrees, we had coq au vin and seafood paella. The flavours, dressings, Isauces, rice, seafood, chicken... Every bite was something to relish. I am a fast eater and regret not taking more time. Then, we topped that off with warm toffee pudding and crème brulee. Throughout, the service was thoughtful without being overwhelming. Go there.
The good: good quality, tasty food. I wouldnt call it out of this world or terribly creative (except the changing chef specials: interesting ingredients and ideas, and tasty execution! Enjoyed their Turkish delight creme Brule!) Friendly, helpful service, pretty large selection of alcoholic beverages. Across from the Fire station, so a sort of interesting vibe. The ... : As most other reviewers suggest, this is fine dining so your $39 plate of ravioli will be more plate than actual ravioli. Id be ok with this if the ravioli was mouth spasmingly good but I was underwhelmed by everything we had. It was good, but less than I would expect from the prices. Id say that the prices here are on par with the Bacchus Bistro but u get nowhere near the taste, quantity or variety of menu as Bacchus. We actually left hungry after a $180 meal for two (with no alcohol involved!) This from a 52 95lb lady whose appetite is usually well satisfied by a double pattie burger (which I had later that same night ) We werent overly impressed with our experience here. There are other places wed rather go to, where the ambiance is better, and where the prices are on par but the food is better and served in more satisfying quantities.
Great food. Service is quick as well. Nice to have a more upscale eatery in Pitt Meadows.
Couldnt believe we made a reservation for 6pm. We arrived at 5 to six and could not believe the greeting we got from our waiter was that he would appreciate it if we could be done and gone by 7pm so he could have the table back. We thought he was joking but soon found out he wasnt. We told him we had made a reservation and he came back with well maybe by 730 at the latest. It was an instant fowl of what was to be a nice meal out. The mood at our table was changed instantly and we spent the first 15 minutes deciding whether to stay or just walk out. We would not return. There are a lot of good restaurants out the that appreciate customers. Why subject ourselves to that again.
I wont let my friends drag me here again
Always the best place in town. Sweet atmosphere and exceptional food.
Fantastic food every time. Seasonal menus, great service, best Caesar salad ever.
A wonderful place to go for a fine restaurant in Pitt Meadows. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! My only word against is that the portions are a bit on the small side, but not enough so to warrant taking a star off of this clearly 5 star worthy restaurant.
High end
Wonder gem of a place. Best food in Pitt Meadows.
Good food but down town Vancouver prices great lunch but have to be gone by 2 precisely
The food and service are that of fine dining. The term bistro in the name is misleading, it is not a bistro and the prices are not reasonable for a bistro but you get what you pay for and the value is excellent. I will definitely visit again.
We love this place. A lot of comments on here note small portions but weve never left hungry. The food is well worth the price you pay in portion and flavour. My only issue is that I tend to get stuck ordering the same thing because its sooooo delicious and it takes some goading from my husband or Pip to try something new - which then becomes my new favourite. Lol. We really enjoy the dining experience which is both fine but not fussy.
Lovely dinner,quaint atmosphere,going back tonight,cant wait!
The Firehall Bistro is located in the heart of Pitt Meadows featuring local favorites with the chefs take on made in house sauces to accentuate the dishes. Dinner started off with an amuse bouche of stuffed peppers, then a pear salad followed by the daily special of lingcod. All courses were delicious and well prepared. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting on living in the area.
Fantastic food and service
Amazing service and food. Will definitely be back.
Went early without a reservation but got a table. Good service. Had ling cod as the fish of the day. Would definitely go back.
Food was decent, however the owner seemed a little condescending and rude and for this reason I would not come back.
Great food, easy parking, great owner.
When you hear about a place that has good reviews, you go with higher expectations, and look forward to your experience. I ordered thier special of the night for pickup, it sounded great... I paid $29.00 for what looked like beef stew, and it was only 6 ounces. I was wondering why there was only 1 table when I arrived @615 on Saturday night. There is no way I should have to make a sandwich after spending that much on a meal. This is Pitt Meadows, not downtown Vancouver.
Fine dining with amazing food. Run by husband and wife, lots of local seasonal ingredients. Best (only) true fine dining in Ridge Meadows. Website is lacking, but the food is amazing and a great spot for a celebratory dinner
Beyond expectations. Great service. And amazing food. No need to head to Vancouver for a great dinning experience when it it here. Ps you got to have the apple fritters.
Small portions
This restaurant was recommended to us by our Real Estate agent when we moved to the area two years ago. We were very pleased with this recommendation and have returned a few times. Besides the food being fantastic, the service is friendly & helpful. Before our meal arrives, theres always a small, tasty treat from the chef. The food is of very good quality. We were always satisfied with the quantity, but if you like big portions, this may not be a place for you.
My husband and myself tried to go to the firehall bistro Friday night at 8:30pm (closes at 10pm on website) and they told us they were closing so we had an hour to eat, if we wanted to stay.... It didnt feel welcoming. We thought we would try again on Monday... Again the website says they are open till 10pm. It was 7:30pm when I called to get a table, I was told the last order was put in at 7:00pm and they were closing in 45min... I m so annoyed. We have had 2 child free days and love the food there!! Unfortunately, I m so disappointed with there service I will never go back. Make sure you call before you go!! You never know when they will be open! Who closes for dinner at 8:30pm on a Friday night!!!! Also, there pizza parlor take out, the other guys has terrible Caesar salad... Ordered from there and it tasted like rotten fish. Called back to politely let them know it was off and they said thanks and hung up the phone. Never going back!!! 3rd strike!!
Fabulous gem in Pitt Meadows. Great food, good service, a little pricey but great quality. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a romantic night out or upscale dinner.
So I am quite confused ...... I have been calling for a week now to make a reservation during and not during opening hours and there has been no answer. I have triple checked the contact phone numbers. Can anyone enlighten me?
The place is great, the selection of food is awesome. the owner, who served us, was too much serious, but the service was great.
The food tasted from mediocre to awful and was outrageously overpriced.
was there tonight and so good! everything the service the drinks the food and desert! such a gem.
Really dissaponted with this place. Great service but thats where it ends. The food is grossly overpriced and the portions are so small! I had the spicy chicken pasta and my wife had the ravioli. We were both stunned by how little was on the plate. After we finished, both of us were still starving, we dont have huge appetites either. After paying $55 for something I could swear was just reheated microwaved food, we left and had to stop for some real food. Such a shame, we had heard good things about this place but Ill never recommend it.
Freindly, inviting good food
Great service and amazing food. Its expensive and small portion, so dont expect a big plate.
We were there for our first time. Wanted to find a proper dining experience without having to travel downtown. They did not disappoint. Cant fault anything about the experience.
We went here for a special occasion and I have been here before and the meals were always good. This time we both ordered different meals and I have never been so disappointed in my dinning experience. Both of our meals were terrible the combinations on the plate didnt go together the selection on the menu also left a little bit to be desired. Considering what we had to pay for the meal and the flavour of the food I will not be returning again. I will also never recommend it.
Fantastic food and service. The chefs training was in French cooking and it shows, yuum! Different atmosphere than most restaurants, when you make a reservation, that table is yours for the night. There is no one trying to rush you along. There are only 3 restaurants between Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows worth eating at, this is one of them.
The best restaurant in town. You do not have to go to Vancouver anymore to find fine dining. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, our favorite place in town
The owner is a jerk and does not no the meaning of being polite to those who he thinks are poor
