Great place, really good food and service, plenty of options to eat and drink. Service was really good from Tim the bartender as the 3 of us sat at the bar be a use the place was packed. There were reserved sections that were not getting used due to waitress shortage (2 on shift) so to not stretch the staff too thin, about 4 tables (not much) so as we could not find anywhere to sit, we chose the bar. Had a great time, and we plan on coming back soon.
Food was great .. staff very friendly we weren't fan's of the music playing but it's more of a older crowd .. definitely enjoyed the seat by the fire place
Tried this absolute gem of a place out tonight, so very glad I did the meal cost was about 35 per person with drink and tip in mind. Food was spectacular and I can't stress this enough. 10/10 our meal was 2 orders of the Original Burger with fries and a appetizer of Kalimari rather small portion of Kalimari but it is without question the BEST Kalimari I've had in a great deal of years. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
This pub is a bomb! Top-notch food and drink with reasonable price. Big and delicious portion. We came here with no expectation and was surprised with how good this place it. I had the Double Trouble Burger, my wife had the chicken Parmesan and we ordered the Lettuce Wrap for share. We clearly have the wrong assumption about the portion. The dishes were so enormous that the leftover last us another meal. I've tried 2 special mock tails(lemonade and ginger, cannot recall full name) and they're both amazing. I guess the rest would be the same quality as well. A true gem of the city. Would definitely visit again.
I recently visited Jolly Coachman for the first time. I had an overall enjoyable experience and I highly recommend this local gem! •VIBES/ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was laid back and the place has a fantastic old school pub feel (which is exactly the way I like a pub to be). They also have a lovely patio with some misty water spray to keep you cool in the summer. I didn’t sit on the patio, but it sure looked nice. •SERVICE The service was excellent. The waitress (the very tattooed young Asian lady) was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, super fast, and made me feel welcomed and comfortable. She checked on me the exact correct number of times (I get annoyed by waitresses who repeatedly pester, this one had good instincts and was on point). My order was taken immediately and my drink/food arrived fast. As a smoker who has no incentive to aimlessly hover in/around a pub with no smoking areas, speed of service is very important to me. •DRINKS They have a pretty extensive drink menu with lots of choices. The variety of cocktail choices impressed me as a cocktail drinker. I ordered the Blue Hawaiian. While it was more teal-green than blue and not as sweet as my sweet tooth alcohol taste desires, you couldn’t taste the alcohol but could feel it. And that is everything a successful cocktail should be. I will definitely have to be back to try more of their summer cocktails (and ask for them to be extra sweet!) •FOOD I noticed other people eating burgers and being the nosy follower that I sometimes can be, I thought I’d go for the burger special. But when the waitress said the burger is a regular burger, I decided to order the calamari instead (my burgers need to be irregular otherwise I’m bored, there’s a limit to my sheepish follower behaviour after all). The calamari was delicious! It was warm, fresh, crispy, flavourful and a large portion. The tomato & green onion salsa that came with it was sour and salty; tasty and refreshing. The sauce was also delicious, although if you dip every calamari piece, you will run out of sauce on your last 3 pieces. I recommend they add a tiny bit more sauce to ensure that all calamaris are successfully dipped. This calamari was the crispiest calamari I’ve ever had in my life, which was a pleasant surprise. Even the squeezed juice from my lemon and the tomato pieces didn’t and couldn’t make this calamari soggy. I bet you could pour buckets of water on this calamari and it wont lose its crunch. A waterproof non-soggy calamari. It seems I have searched my entire life for such a thing. And now I’ve finally found it!
Came in during the week for our first time and it was very busy. Our server Meghan made sure that we were seen and taken care of despite being the only one on. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, checked for allergies and even got us on a first name basis, which impressed us! We appreciated the kind service and delicious food and will definitely be back!
GREAT atmosphere, huge portion of food and timely service! The waiters weren't the types that harrasssed you every 2 minutes! Didn't eat it all since the portion sizes were big, but the food was great! Go for it!
The service was fast and friendly. We went on a Friday night and it was really busy but we never had to hunt down the waitress. The food came out in a timely manner and we were a table of five. Portions were huge and a good value for your dollar. Returned on a Sunday night for dinner. Same good service and huge portions!

This is a comfortable, neighborhood pub. The food is good, the atmosphere is fine, the service is good and a jolly lager will fix everything! Absolutely excellent and its so handy right in the neighborhood. We all love it.

I only went to the liquor store, it has an average selection of drinks, it is small and a bit crowded inside. I think I struggle with being offered a tip option at a liquor store at the counter... it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I used to go to the Jolly Coachman every week and I had such a good time there. Always great stuff friendly people and good atmosphere. I went back recently for another visit and found out that Ive been missing a lot. What a wonderful place to go and meet people. Great food and really good service. I highly recommend the Jolly coachmen. And if youre lucky you might even see this magician there

The locals know a good thing when they see it! Its like Cheers. The waitstaff are fantastic! They even seem to remember your name, favorite food/beverage. I dont know how they do this b/c were only in about once a week for a quick dinner. Which brings me to the food. While it is a pub and you can get a great burger, nachos and fish n chips theyve also upgraded the menu recently and (I think) hired a new chef. By recently I mean a couple of years ago. ;) So whether you want a burger or a steak youll get a quality meal with a smile and plenty of good times.
Staff took ahile to greet us and then another while to actually take our order. We were sat in a very cramped space. Just not a fan of the layout. Food : 5/5

This place was awful slow service, my food had a white beard hair in it and when I let the server know she just took the food and didn t come back with a new wrap for 30 mins, everyone was done eating by this point and wanted to leave so I asked her to wrap it up and if I could maybe get a discount since I didn t even get to eat in the restaurant she said no sorry we don t do that To make things better when I got home to eat my wrap what you know 2 more white hairs

April 14 /2024 Calamary came cold, Shaila was sweet ! Brought new one That came so salty that half left on plate so maybe cook didnt like that first dish was cold and add bit of salt to his own wound!(sent back)and)Honey chicken wings hard as nails. Not the best afternoon after nice walk at Pitt Lake. Hope they will take notice!
The staff serving us were very cherry and polite. They are the best asset this pub has. Quite a dated Pub, it was about 15 years ago I went there last, it looked dated then lol. We ordered two bacon cheeseburgers with fries. They were supposed to have a special hamburger sauce on it, it had mayonnaise. The hamburger patty was store-bought, super dry, super unexciting. Its a good Pub for locals I guess but not for adventurers.

One of my favourite watering holes. They used to make an awesome butter chicken, but for some unknown reason took one of their best dishes off the menu. Good food and service overall.
Went here for a bite to eat today around 2pm we ordered and it took almost an hour to get our meal. I ordered the coachman club, the toast was burnt and the chicken was extremely dry. There was no mayo on the sandwich which also made it drier. My boyfriend s friend looked like only the tiny remnants left from several previous orders. The waitress was less than friendly as she seemed to be over worked. I have been here before and don t remember it being this bad. I may try again but probably not for awhile
This is a dirty bar and needs are lot of work and cleaning to be done to make this place even half decent

Morgan ignored my male guest during the entire meal, including never asking if a refill was required on his beverage, although my alcohol beverage was replenished 3 times. He is crushed that Morgan wouldnt even acknowledge his presence, looking at me when his beverage was delivered by her. Never said hi, never even looked at him. Unprofessional. No 2 bite, and the volume was a bit high fir the amount of patrons present. Endearing how Gordie was looked after, but it was my guest who recommended and took me to your establishment only to be completely ignored. Might be back, food was excellent. A personality included with the server would be appreciated next time. Im a professional chef, by the way. Not cool.

A big group of us was in there in Saturday night and we had a great time. The food was great and our server handled our LARGE PARTY amazing. She kept the drinks flowing and the food was good too. I was shocked cuz we were not an easy crowd. We are regulars and will defiantly come back always.

Honestly, the Jolly Coachman is a classic neighborhood pub with its reasonably prices, cozy atmosphere, authentic and personalized layout, and its friendly staff. Places like this are a dying breed. The food here is fresh, tasty, and best of all, as fairly priced as it comes in this economy. Not cheap cheap, mind you, but the days of the nine dollar burger are regrettably behind us. If you live in spitting distance of this sleepy hidden gem, Id make the most of it. They also serve brunch, which is delightful.

Good atmosphere and the food is generally really good. May favourite is their steak bites and potatoes skins! A good place to catch the game or enjoy karaoke on Thursday nights. Lost a point for the bathroom situation. Sorry guys. But otherwise a nice place to hang with friends.

I travelled from out of town and ended in here after a funeral. The place was very crowded, but we didnt need to wait long for a table. We had some stellar service, great food, and better drinks to wash it down. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will be returning
Refused my husbands LEGAL identification, both Drivers License and Health Card and claimed they were fake. The cashier seemed to be under the influence and it was a very uncomfortable experience. We are going somewhere else because his LEGAL ID fortunately will get accepted anywhere else but management seriously needs to address this employee and discuss proper ways to identify legal ID and how unacceptable it is not to come to work sober despite it being a liquor business. At least say the card is invalid instead of making false claims, kindness goes a long way instead of souring the experience for your customers.

Went on st Patricks day and it was packed but the food was great and the servers although swamped were fantastic at keeping it all calm they had Irish dancers and music and the lions club had a meat draw which we won at loved the atmosphere here and would go again!highly recommended!

Finally seeming to be back to normal, the food is available until 10 pm again and then afterwards, a reduced menu. Service has been hit and miss but my last few times there were enjoyable. Definitely getting busier!

Ceaser salad was warm and limp and the toast that came with it tasted burnt. Yam fries were just okay. Fish and chips were just okay. Over served dude was annoying beside us (He was taking a cab at least when he left just before us) Have not been there for 3 years - won t be going back.
Perfect local pub, the food is amazing everytime, the drinks are consistent, the staff are nice and they host lots of fun little event evenings. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible front entrance and back entrance from the parking lot to the upper main area, but there is stairs if you want to go to the lower area, patio and bathrooms. Though there is a gate on the patio so maybe if you got let in that way you could sit in the lower section/outside and have easy bathroom access. For the liquor store, its flat at the entrance but the store itself is rather narrow
I was sent a deal on my phone for $2 wings or dry ribs between 7 and 9 PM tonight at any of the My Pub Group locations. I live a two block walking distance and am a regular at the Haney but I love the patio at the Coachman so decided to drive over there for a change. I entered the patio from the street and asked a server if I could sit at a particular table just inside the gate. She said yes, then disappeared for about ten minutes. There was another server on the other side of the patio who never even glanced at me. Eventually, the original server, whom I now know from my bill is Lindsay came by and asked if Id been served yet. I said no. She took my order for a glass of wine and one of ice water ... okay, I just realized my reviews are too long and detailed. No one cares or has time to read. Bottom line, I was disappointed in the service overall due to long gaps in being acknowledged/served and need to repeat orders. I felt invisible. The yam fries I ordered with my wings were inedible to me, way overdone to black. She said, Too crispy? which was an understatement, took them away and then said too crispy to the table behind me. I could imagine an eye roll but I didnt see one, just felt uncomfortable. Waited forever for my bill after waiting forever for my much better yam fries so went to the bathroom and then she came looking for me, as if Id walk out. Of course, she doesnt know me and I dont know her but again, I felt ... insulted. She got the 15% tip she deserved. Or did she? I dont want to offer a critique without a suggestion for improvement, so servers ... when you see an older person sitting alone please try not to assume they want to be alone. They may, but they deserve the same service as everyone else. My standard tip is 20% and it goes up or down depending on service. Dont assume an older person is a bad tipper. Some may be due to limited income but try to do your best as a reflection of your work ethic and your employer. Anything you give in this world comes back to you, positive or negative. Just a tip.
Food was ok. Service good. Atmosphere was ok. Would of rated higher if they had the A/C on. Got very uncomfortable trying to eat and drink a beer while sweating in a very warm Pub.
I am physically disabled because I was struck by a truck as a pedestrian. So I dont walk straight. After 2 beers I was treated like a drunk and forced to leave. The jolly coachman discriminated against me because I am disabled. The Friday night bartender did not seek to ask my problem I was just discriminated against and forced to leave. This is injustice and discrimination. I am a regular customer during the day and have never been treated like a second class citizen until I went there on a Friday night. This bartender needs to learn consideration for those who are not as privileged as his healthy white male identity. Just because I struggle to walk does not mean I am a drunk. This service is is outrageous and I expect management to fix such unnecessary discrimination against the disabled.

We ordered the fish n chips and taco salad w chicken Portions are huge and we enjoyed everything we ordered - fish was hot, not too greasy, taco salad was fresh & the jalapeños gave a good kick Prices are worth the servings and the service They had an amazing live band that evening and no cover charge - Turncliff & McCoy rocked great country & acoustic tunes Keep it up guys!!
First time here and will be back . Wings were fantastic , would be nice to have an unbreaded option but none the less they were just what i needed . Pineapple curry were full of sweet flavourful goodness but the jamacian jerk was probably one the best jamacian jerks i have had for wing sauce . Looking forward to trying the rest of the sauces and many more of the menu items . Drink prices were descent for beer and wine however shots I thought were a little to expensive , I believe it was $8 dollars for a shot of fireball , thats quite the markup on a $25 bottle that can be purchased at the liquor store attached to the pub . Buy the bottle and save the shots for home .
went for my 19th amazing drinks and environment reminds me a lot of a tavern and amazing people/staff very kind and amazing service. I had the steak bites and it was incredible really rocked my world, i ve been craving it again since, will definitely be going there more often (i don t even like steak)

Fun pub with great pub food. A focus on sports means there are lots of games playing in the many televisions throughout the pub, meaning you can catch the game from almost any are inside.

Ordered two pot roast for Sunday special. So good! Everything that came was perfect gravy and Yorkie are awesome! Will definitely order this again and again! Thank you! REVISED, seams I got lucky on first order After making this post very next week they started charging more snd giving way less. Last week opened one of the dinners it was half carrots and hardly any meat (potroast) gravy was clumpy potatoes were not good at all. I was ordering from them every Sunday last time most of it went into the bin, I think Im taking a break from thier takeaway. It varies from terrible to great. It started off great and now well opposite of that. Last week wasnt the worst either was hoping it was an off day week before.
Decent pub to go to. Great service. Usually go for chicken wings but lately itll be great one week and the next week disappointingly little tiny dried out wings. Update October 12, 2023: Consistency on wings still eludes the cooking staff - last week nicely cooked and crispy with lots of flavour but small portions; this week soggy and dull but good portions. Think Ill be going elsewhere for a while, give them a few months without my business.

Stopped for a quick drink and sat at the bar I had a look at the kitchen and saw the food coming out This is one the cleanest kitchen that I have seen, the food looked very good if it tastes like it looked should be awesome Looking at the customers in the tables close to the bar, I would assume that they were very happy with the food since the plates were clean!!! I certainly will come to the food very soon

The wait staff are very friendly. The food has gone downhill in the last year, to the point that the inexperienced staff cannot even properly cook fries.. Not much point coming back here unless the kitchen is fixed.

Good pub food at reasonable prices. I had the Southwest Chicken Burger w/fries. It was pretty good. Paired it with a sleeve of Fat Tug, that was on special. No complaints on any level. Old school pub atmosphere. I can see why this place is so popular.
This is a lovely place, very much a old pub feel. The food we had was great, the drinks where better! My only complaint was when asking a server how hot thier Jamaican jerk wings where, she said hardly hot at all. But to us they absolutely scorched our mouths. Would be nice if they had a chart with how hot thier wing flavors where. But regardless, flavour was on point and we will be back.

I ordered the salt and pepper wings yesterday and they were absolutely COATED IN SALT. I ve never seen nor had so much salt on my wings! It s like taking a sip of ocean water! The staff were friendly though. This is my only complaint, really! I know bar food can be salty but it was literally so salty it burned and took away from the taste of the chicken.

All I can say is that Im disappointed. Iv lived in Pitt Meadows for many years and can honestly say I never thought Id be posting a bad review for the Coachman but here we are. Me and my wife went in for some lunch and ordered a couple burgers and diet cokes. The pops showed up completely full of ice and barely any pop. The taste was so watery that I swear they were watering it down. I inquired about it and new pops were sent and they were the same, watery. They also charge for refills on your pop which isnt the end of the world but your paying for a glass stacked with ice at a buck fifty a refill. The burgers showed up and they were the tinyest things iv ever seen almost as tiny as the fries that could have passed as hashbrowns. The burgers were on stale hockey puck buns that would easily break your teeth if your not carefull. Overall very disappointing, like I said the Coachman has gone to the best place to eat to the worst. How can you cut corners like that. I know things are getting tough these days but to charge 18 dollars for a burger and skimp on the quality and quantity is not right. Me and my wife both said we should have went to Wendys because the burgers taste better. Sorry Coachman but you let us down!
