The best Dim Sum in Montreal is now in Pointe-Claire! We are happy to serve you in our brand new 10,000+ square feet restaurant! Our venue is also ideal for wedding and events. Come visit us!
When craving Chinese food, this is the go-to spot. Whether for a dim sum brunch or a big family gathering dinner, they cater to all, a table that fits 12 people and a family combo that feeds everyone. The food is good, but the service can be hit or miss, sometimes it's spot-on, sometimes might feel overlooked. The dining area was nice and clean, with walls decorated with Chinese opera masks and Chinese paper umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling. This nostalgic decor transports us to an authentic restaurant in Asia. Sadly, a walk to the washroom is less pleasant, its filthy state can really detract from the enjoyment of a good meal.
Reviews are all over the place! We went on Saturday night half of the restaurant had a large party. The rest was full several groups of 7pm reservations waited until 715-730 to be seated. We waited and well worth it! Service was friendly and quick. Food was best Chinese in the West Island for sure. Dim sums a la carte and Chinese
Attended a large family event with 25 people. Service was quick and excellent, even with our large group across the tables. Traditional Chinese food was great! We ordered a variety of dishes to be shared family style. Not pictured… spring rolls, dumplings, wonton and hot &sour soups, lo mein, etc.
Lovely place! The food was delicious, fresh and authentic. The staff were kind and attentive, the food came so quick after we ordered it was awesome! If you like dim sum This is a great choice for lunch or dinner! The crispy chow mein with beef and Chinese broccoli was the best I've had in ages!
Met up with some friends for dim sum. It was good, they do not have the baked char siu bao just the steam version. The har gow is good. Plenty of parking. Even though your not in Chinatown, this place get packed on the weekend. We were here during the mid day and on the weekday, there were plenty of people entering and leaving. The dim sum was good, not too much msg.
Excellent Dim Sum, very busy during lunch time. Food was great, especially sautéed King mushrooms with snow pea sprouts! Servers very busy, but attentive. We had wonderful family meal, Thanl you!
Very nice and decorated restaurant that is also very busy ! We made reservations and were seated quickly :) We had Har Gow, Siu Mai, Sautéed lamb with cumin, Assorted Vegetables, and Singapore noodles and it was beyond delicious ❤️ They have dim sum all day with an extensive menu and we cannot wait to come back to try more items in this 10/10 restaurant ❤️
Great place to come for dim sum with the family. It's great quality, lots of selection and I love that it's easy to get here and find parking rather than having to go to Chinatown. You also order off of your phone which makes reordering very easy and you don't have to wait for someone. I recommend ending your meal with sound tofu pudding!
Finally, a DimSum restaurant is finally open @ West Island! The interior decor is magnificent and comfortable. Its very bright and spacious. The service is efficient and fast. The price for DimSum varies from one dish to another from 6$ to 10$+/dish. I recommend that you come in a large group otherwise you will not be able to taste as many dishes. For dinner, there are several combos to choose from. I advise you to order a combo of 6 people and add a few dishes from the menu @ la carte for a group of 6 people or more. Here are some of the tastiest dishes on the Imperial menu. Cheers, Missy A!
Portions were good size. Food is fresh and hot.
As chinese food goes, it the best in West Island, as good as some of the best spot in Montreal Chinatown. They also serve Dim Sum at certain time.
Food is just ok if you like a big plate of grease that can get newcomers sick and send them running to the bathroom lets not mention the service... Very poor standards very rude and intrusive waiters/waitresses and are very unfriendly to people who are new to the concept of these restaurants if you cant handle the stress get out of the restaurant business respectfully.
Restaurant forgot an online order. Had me wait 45 minutes and kept saying it s coming. Until finally admitting they forgot it. Refused to refund my prepaid order and forced me to wait another 20 minutes. Incredibly rude staff.
We had good service and very fast. The dishes were hot, fresh and excellent. We will return there.
Very popular dim sum, quick service. Some dishes were lukewarm. The flavors are good
Beautiful environment, trendy Asian decor, you order from your phone with QR code.
Variety of food to choose from.... friendly service, good for big or small group. Sunday at lunch is quite busy, so better to have a booking.... wide parking...
The place is nicely adorned. High ceiling and plenty of dining space (tables are spaced evenly) thats relaxed. No loud unnecessary background music and staff were extremely helpful, friendly and full of humor. Celebrated my moms bday here and my uncles yesterday (Thursday evening) and the food was great. Quality and quantity are well-balanced. Flavor was there, not too salty. Straightforward menu and definitely filling. We ordered a huge amount of food and we took a quarter of it to-go. They have this cute robot that delivers food to the bar (im assuming to-go orders) and the same robot delivered the bday cake to our table and sang with us a happy bday! Such a fun addition to the place! :) Highly recommend stir fry broccoli with garlic, yang chow fried rice, salt and pepper shrimp and singapore noodles. We ordered a bunch of other food but these topped my list. Great experience overall and would definitely visit again. Thank you for the amazing service and delicious food that we couldnt get anywhere these days! Thank you for your hardwork and keep up the quality and quantity of food that you serve. We ordered here before food to-go but I attest to the fact that dine-in experience with them is totally day and night experience! You have to give this place a shot, guys!
Take out : Not listening to Order properly, missed items first time. Reordered and they still missed the quantity. Meanwhile the first order got cold. During query for eta inconsiderate and cold response. Good luck, no next time.
A bit disappointing to be honest. Been going to the one in the South shore and had no issues. During our last visit to this one, the food came out extremely slow, to the point that our table of 7 was eating one dim sum item at a time. The food was in many cases cold. The shrimp dumplings (hargao), were taking apart when we tried to pick them up. Lastly, many of the items we ordered never arrived to our table. Im not sure if this was a one off or a general trend, Ill update this review the next time I go (if theres a next time).
Amazing, reasonably priced restaurant with generous portions. Awesome
We came to celebrate a birthday party with 11 people total. One of our party members asked for water for the table, another not knowing asked another waiter for the same. We received our water but the second waiter came back and saw we received our water, he rudely said to us that we were making him work twice as hard and we wasted his time. We apologized but he continued his rant making the evening extremely awkward. On top of that when we asked for the bill, he added a hefty tip. The waiters name was William as we heard another waiter call him. Needless to say, we wont be returning and we were just happy to leave at that point.
Tea tastes like bleach
Extremely poor service!! The place was half empty on a Friday night at 7h00 and they could not be bothered coming to our table (small group of 6) to offer us water and/or ask if we wanted to purchase beer or wine to go with our food. Also, we kept a menu to order a second round of food, but they never came back after the first service to ask if we still wanted to order more. Oh, and they dont want to make separate bills, its one bill per table and you figure it out amongst yourselves after. It says it on each menu, only one bill per table!!! We will never going back...
The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. We won t be going back.
I ordered wonton soup from uber eats and the wonton taste old and rotten, Im starved and cant bring myself to take another bite. Honestly its off, shame on the chef who couldnt smell it
The restaurant tried to rip us off!!! We were a group of 60 people and an agreement with the restaurant for the table dhôte with a fixed amount for the group. At the end of the evening, the restaurant did not deliver the lobster dish for the group as agreed, the most expensive dish! The organizer even had to argue to find common ground for this attempted scam. The worst experience in a restaurant ever! When the restaurant owner tries to rip you off, imagine what else he could do or try... And obviously, the waiters dont know the term of customer service, they are rude and dont smile... Really bad experience, I dont recommend, go spend your money on a trusty place.
Always a great place to have a family reunion! Food is great, better than most dim sum place in montreal. Service is a little bit slow as there are a lot of people, but when you manage to get a waiter it is very smooth. Food comes out really quick. Atmosphere is a great family place.
Our online bill with the QR code, said it was $73, but when the bill came there was an $8 charge that the servers insisted was accounted for. We don t charge you if it didn t come to your table , since we counted and listed the dishes, we knew we didn t get that dish but whatever, why argue for $8. So we decided to leave $12 tip which was 13% of our total bill. The server then came back to tell us to leave more cash. As we only tipped 13% in front of other patrons. Listen, we were generous to let the $8 slide knowing we didn t receive that dish. We counted exactly what came to our table. I don t have to pay for your hourly wage and there is no QC law that we need to tip a minimum of 15%. I give what I deem appropriate for the service provided. This is the most unprofessional restaurant around. Will NEVER EVER RETURN! You only deserve the same service you provide. So 13% is more than generous.
First time customer and probably the last. Went for supper with my wife. The hot and sour soup was too watery. The main meal can on the table before we were half way through or soup. We ordered Sichuan shrimp and received salt and pepper shrimp. We also ordered beef with garlic. The meat was tough and not enjoyable. They are expensive and not worth the money paid. There are many better choices in the West Island. Very dissatisfied.
It s delicious! Recommended dishes
Swiftly seated, nice ambiance, variety of food items, Dim Sum
Dim sum was good
The young man at the cash today was definitely NOT happy to work !!! He was RUDE ! he should not work there if not willing to , send him to the kitchen, or to his home ! I missed the nice lady there, always smiling, hope shell come back soon
Bad service, with Cold food, very low quality restaurant.
We went for a last-minute family dinner on a Thursday. We got there at 5:30p & plenty of parking available. Friendly staff & great food! Food
Ridiculous service. We were a group and ordered about 10-12 dishes. They brought out each dish one by one with 10 minutes between them. Super slow service even though the place was almost empty. Food was ok but couldnt stop laughing how out of touch they were. Not going to last long.
This place is wonderful and reminiscent of the real classic Chinese food restaurants of China town without any parking issues.
Found a bug floating in my soup, needless to say I put the entire order in the garbage after puking because if I found that in the soup, I am scared to find out whats in the rest of the food cover in sauces.
Bringing 850$ sales, wanted to charge me $10.00 to bring a ! To take my business elsewhere
This place is great. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is good and the decor is awesome. Great for groups to share or a nice night out with tasty leftovers. Portions are good and they have a lot of great options.
Food was very tasty but not hot and rice which should go with meat dishes came way too late. Staff very nice.
Great place!!!!! Food is amazing everything was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. Definitely will come back.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH! The Impérial restaurant in Pointe-Claire is a nightmare.
Beautiful restaurant. We order using the app which was very cool. It took us a while to figure it out and we were wondering why the carts would not come by our table. Once you order via the app, the food gets delivered quite fast and the food was pretty good. Very affordable. I have had better dim sum, but the venue made up for it. It is bright and beautifully decorated.
Authentique Chinese food. Good quality
There are flies in my drinking water. The food is too salty. Important: check your invoice carefully.
Great for dim sum.
Great service. Generous portions. Fantastic food. Definitely going back
drink tea Comfortable environment The food is delicious
White table dinning. Service & food is good. I love this restaurant and truly enjoyed the Hot & Sour soup and General Tsos dish. For those interested in how to order, you use your smart phone.
We ordered a delivery, and I was impressed with the large portions and the quality of the food. Well order again.
My family took us out to get dim sum. The food was all very good and the restaurant looks very modern. I wanted to eat more but I was so full
The little girls who are at the door roll their eyes on you. Pitiful service. Owner should think about a better costumer service
Beautiful restaurant ordered the large wonton soup it arrived Luke warm and was reheated. I found the wonton to be only average in taste and texture but the broth tasted little more like a weak chicken based broth with a few green onions floating around not recommended this was my second visit same result
Good dim sum place with parking. On the other hand, the service is average, the waiters are difficult to find and do not come to see us. It was hot in the restaurant.
Food tastes good & generous portion for the price. Restaurant is spacious & new. You can also consider this restaurant for a big event, tons of parking . Definitely cannot compare with Toronto or Vancouver, but its one of the best Chinese food in Montreal.
Excellent service. The staff were sweet and helpful. I have travelled to Hong Kong and this food was delicious. Really enjoyed the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.
Great dim sum
Corporate lunch event with colleagues. Great food.
Service: The service was shockingly slow and inefficient. It took forever to get seated despite having a reservation, and once seated, it was an eternity before a server acknowledged our presence. They seemed understaffed and disorganized. Food Quality: For a restaurant that prides itself on fine dining, the food was underwhelming. My steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, while my partners seafood pasta was bland and tasteless. The presentation was mediocre at best, failing to live up to the high expectations set by the prices. Ambiance: The ambiance was oddly sterile and lacked warmth. The decor felt outdated and tired, and the lighting was harsh and uninviting. It did not create the cozy or elegant atmosphere one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Price: The prices were exorbitant considering the quality of the food and service. We left feeling like we had paid for the name rather than the actual dining experience. Overall Experience: Overall, our evening at Imperial was a letdown. It failed to deliver on its promise of a memorable dining experience and fell short on every front from service to food quality to ambiance. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience. Parking: Parking is all full
The food is excellent, the service leaves something to be desired. If you are not Asian you will not have service. The surrounding tables are served, but we, a table of non-Asian people, are left forgotten. Arrogant waitress during this rare visit. Experience that leaves something to be desired
Great dim sum on the west island
Updated 01Jul2024: I used to come here when it first opened due to proximity as opposed to going to Chinatown or Brossard. The food was acceptable when they first open but they have downgraded lately. The food is not always fresh, their Siu Mai is very mushy, their Hao Gao skin would break and fall apart, and sometimes have a smell, their Beef Stomach Stew is kept hot in what seems to be a cooler in the eating area.
Its not china but OK for montreal. I would go back because there is not much choice. If it was Toronto I would not.
Not wanting to drive all the way from Ville St-Laurent to Chinatown fighting the tragf & parking headaches, especially during the Canada Day long weekend, we decided to head West and to Restaurant Imperiale in Pointe-Claire. We decided to arrive at 1:30pm to avoid the huge crowd on holiday weekend, but it was nice to see it was still about half full - a sign of a good restaurant. We were greeted quickly, it was my very first time on vacation visiting from California, and I must say I was impressed with the inferior designs, as the exteriors really didnt stand out sitting in the middle of a shopping mall. However, this makes parking a non-issue, we parked right in front of the restaurant. Everything was ordered through the smartphones, and then once the dim sim items were put on the table, the ladies would mark off on a typical Dim Sum card, making it easy to tally off and minimize mistakes. We ordered the usual must-eat Dim Sum items, from Haw Kau, to chicken feet, to leaf wrapped sticky rice w/ BBQ pork & sausage. I think most were on point & delicious, tea refills could have been more prompt - several waiters went by & witnessed the tea pot being left open but walked right by. But in all, it was a pretty nice experience!
Love it,great food and service
Paid almost 600$ and they gave us plastic cups!!!! and other tables had fancy glasses!!! The manager was avoiding us lol!
Love the duck, always pack for dim sum,
Dim sum was flavorless, and Dishes were overly salty.service was poor, the staff pressured us to leave a large tip despite the bad service
Very tasty food and great service!
What a joke. I recently visited what I can confidently say is the worst restaurant in Montreal. The dim sum tasted like a bizarre concoction of water and sausage, a combination that should never grace anyones palate. To add insult to injury, communication was virtually impossible as no one spoke English or French, and the staff were beyond rude. As for the food, it was simply disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this establishment. Lets be real bring Lapin Cretin back my kids had a better experience there.
First visit, so we were surprised by how large and beautiful this restaurant was. The service was impeccable and cheerful. We arrived at 11:00 am on a Sunday. The restaurant filled rapidly with a waiting line. The restaurant thoughtfully provided chairs outside for waiting patrons. We ordered a lot of dim sum for our party of eight. The food was ordered off a QR Code menu/shopping cart and it arrived piping hot and incredibly quickly. The food was of very high quality. We are from Toronto and have eaten at many fine dim sum places in Toronto, Richmond Hill, and Markham and we strongly felt this place was legit even when compared to restaurants at home. The har gow and siu mai were fine, although not outstanding. The bean curd skin rolls (sin jook guen), taro dumplings (woo gok), sticky rice dumping (hom sui gok), shrimp toast, fried shrimp dumplings (ja Har gok), seaweed shrimp rolls, rice rolls were all outstanding. The steamed spareribs were extremely flavourful and definitely not gummy as in many places. The soup dumplings (Xiao lung Bao) were excellent. The turnip cake (lo Bok goh) was very good and was flavoured with dried shrimp, an unusual and pleasant surprise. The egg custard dessert tarts were fine. The star dessert were the egg lava sesame seed balls, which were absolutely delicious. This place will now be our go-to when visiting our Montreal family. It has been in business only for a year and a half. But judging by our experience and the crowds, this place will be a fixture for many years.
We had the Cantonese chow mein, salt and pepper pork, half chicken, pork and shrimp sui mai, and the chicken and salted fish fried rice. Everything was delicious and fresh. Glad we went for lunch in a weekday since there s always a line in the weekend. Prices were reasonable and staff were always there if you need anything. We had 4 containers of leftovers since we were only 2 people.
Worth a try, good Chinese restaurant in Montreal
Typical Chinese restaurant, however done right.
update: Its the Nth time to come here and have a quick lunch today, 3 dishes. Then there was a little fly stuck under the first shrimp dumpling... It made me sick... The clerk canceled this dish, thats all... I lost my appetite, so I left... My friend said why dont you ask for the whole order to be waived? Single, I said forget it, although I didn t have the appetite to eat anything else, but I think it s more meaningful for me to let more people know that it would be more meaningful for me to skip the single (the picture was taken here before)
Good food, good price, good service. This restaurant specializes in Cantonese style cuisine so we ordered Cantonese specialties. We had black bean clams, snow pea leaves stir fry, sweet and sour pork, and salt fish fried rice. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portions are reasonable as well. We enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back.
Amazing. Service was top notch. Food was absolutely delicious. Portions were huge. Seating space was wide and confortable. Price was good. Restaurant was incredibly clean. Highly recommend.
I ve called 5 times in a row to order take out. No one picks up the phone! I guess they don t want my business. TERRIBLE!
Very nice experience
Food poisoning express. Insides of dumplings rotten, cold and disgusting. General Tao takes a minute to chew. Go to Wok Cafe or La Perle or drive downtown, but not here.
My family and I just had dinner here for the first time and the food was incredible. Everything arrived in a timely manner, was seasoned to perfection and the portions were huge. All in all it is a wonderful dinner experience with a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and very kind and polite wait staff. Menu selection is great as well, definitely recommend this place!
Great food, good vibes.
Expensive with smaller portions.
my favourite dim sum place! Food is outstanding, not Traditional carts, you order with your phone on an app. We ate a lot the table was full of food! Parking: Big parking lot so it s perfect!
Unbelievably good Dim sum
I don t care about the other comments. my experience here was better than expected. Food is delicious. Every dishes i tried were awesome. I don t even need to go all the way to Chinatown anymore! It is not a buffet its a la carte. There is all the dimsum you want, and also all chinese dishes you crave Service is fast (they served us all the dishes all at once within minutes. Everytime we go there, we always get good service so can t complain, the waiters are very friendly The location is clean and spacious (its pretty big actually) parking is free, you can even do events there ( we were eating and on the other side they started preparing tables for a chinese wedding) UPDATE: its February 2024, this is my 8th time going there still nothing to complain, love the food and their service!
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibil Food
This is a new Chinese restaurant we found in Montreal West Island that offers various good Chinese dishes. This ressemble as what you see in Chinatown so you don t need to travel in traffic or find a parking spot downtown. Had tables available early at 17h since we didn t have any reservations. But would be recommended large groups. Quality and food prices are the same as what you would get in Chinatown . Vegetarian options: Veggie dishes on menu Dietary restrictions: Better to check with waiter Parking: Plenty of space with shopping mall parking Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchair
Bad service
The atmosphere is good, the food is not bad but BE CAREFUL check your bill before paying because they tend to systematically increase the final bill. That is to say that if you like a bowl of rice they will charge you for 2 and so on. In the end its a theft.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in West Island
My family and I went to this restaurant for the first time for my birthday diner, tonight, a weeknight. The waiter we had seemed not to understand everything that was being said, he asked if it was our first time, we said yes. He tried his best for communication, at least I believe it was his best. The food was good. I have no complaints about that, except when we asked for water, the lady who helped bring out the food did not understand what I was asking for, then when she and our waiter finally understood, they acted like we said something wrong. The waiter even commented by asking us if we weren t going to drink the water like there was a special timeframe to drink it . The other negative thing about the service in the restaurant is that we were being rushed. At first, I was giving the waiter the benefit of the doubt, he was picking up everything as soon as we were finished some restaurants are not that quick. I would understand if there was a lineup outside and their phone was ringing off the hook, but that was not the case. Our reservation was for 6:30, it was only 7:30, the website says you have 120 minutes for each reservation. We were only there for an hour. As soon as he took up the last plate, he brought us some fortune cookies, and orange slices, and then, he brought the bill and the interact machine. Normally at restaurants you have to ask for your bill, you have time to talk to your group a little bit before leaving. We no longer felt welcomed, his actions made us feel uncomfortable, as a result, it put a damper on the evening and ruined our first experience there.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH! Restaurant Impérial in Pointe-Claire is a nightmare. The xia long bao were so dry they were inedible, and the staff didn t understand a single word of my complaint. The portion of fried squid was laughably small, making the entire meal feel like a rip-off. The service was shockingly bad. We asked for water at the beginning of our meal, but it never arrived. I had to get up and demand it at the front desk, where they rudely dismissed me and told me to return to my seat. The water finally came after we had finished eating, which is absolutely unacceptable. When I went to pay, I left a minimal tip due to the horrendous service. The server then had the gall to yell at me, demanding a higher tip and arguing, How did you get the food if you don t give a tip? This level of rudeness and unprofessionalism is appalling and only made me angrier. The entire experience was a disaster. The staff was rude and inattentive, the food was subpar, and the portions were ridiculously small. The blatant disregard for customer service and satisfaction is evident. This place is an absolute joke and a complete waste of time. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this restaurant at all costs. It s not worth the frustration, money, or effort. I will never return and strongly advise others to steer clear of this awful establishment!
I went with a big crowd, and we did not have reservations. We went on a Saturday and the wait was approx 10min, which is appropriate considering how crowded the place was! The decor was so pretty and the ceilings were high. There was enough space between tables that it did not feel cramped and overall very comfortable. Parking was easy and plentiful. The food was superb, just like usual dimsum and they had some cook dishes as well! Like peanut butter chicken and kale! I really loved it and after separating the bill it was approx 25$ each and we were all full. They came often to refill our teas as well. One thing that I found difficult was that the price on the app that you order from is not the same as the final price when you pay so we ended up paying more. However, still very reasonable. The food came at a good time and pace, warm and well made. Definitely recommend!
Finally, a dim sum restaursnt easily accessible for folks off island, easily a 10/10 for that fact alone! As yous expect from such a restaurant the atmosphere is quite lively with many families there, and the decorations are lovely! The food is generally superb. Good portions too. Granted, on some days, it can be a little more hastily prepared than other days. And the same goes for service, very good, but prone to some errors due to the unreasonable amount of work they have to put up with. But, they always do their best! It suffers the rush any dim sum place would, but its still an amazing dim sum place!
It was my first time. The occasion was a birthday party. The service and the food was very good. I eat too much which says a lot about the quality of the food. Only negative is that it is almost an hour from where I live.
They don t come with the plates at your rable for you to choose: you order vis a QR code and they come serve you. I think i liked the old way of dim sum better
The best chinese food in Montreal. Fast Service, and clean. Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes that cater to Vegetarian Parking: Free big parking lot
We went for dimsum! Pretty crowded but the waitlist was well organized. The staff are nice, but make sure that you tell them if you want something. Otherwise, they wont voluntarily come to refill you things. Its a asian restaurant. Do not expect some kind of personalized service. Some of the dishes were little bit cold. Overall okay. Compared to other dim sum, this one is pretty good.
Greasy and low quality!
The services tell me: no tip no go, five dollars is not enough! You need more than fifteen percent. This is the first time I ve encountered this!
Good dim sum very good experience for our friend group Kid-friendliness: I loved that kids can come as friends of our and ourselves have kids Food : 4/5 |
Good food, unintelligent staff with no people skills- Sorry but white people should not be made to feel bad when we have questions about the food, when we inquire, its for a reason. Also- they never pick-up when I call for take-out, you need to call them back 5 times before they pick-up !!!!
In the city like Montreal where there is a significant number of very average Asian restaurants, this one, the Imperial restaurant, was a complete fiasco: mushu pork arrived lukewarm the pork was tough the sauce and no taste and the chili sauce I asked for is the worst I have ever encountered. Service flippant and not very respectful all in all it is the worst restaurant I know bar none.
Elegant and comfortable environment, authentic Cantonese food, good
The Price-Quality (Service) ratio is low. Bad vibes. We wonèt be coming back 10 of us were there on Saturday evening with 6 hungry kids. Took 15mins when we realized nobody came to serve us. Waiter came and gave us drinks and took the order. The dishes came only after 8pm. The waiter at our table tried his best but the rest of the crew were short-handed, very rude and avoided eyecontact.
Was visiting and friends took me there for supper. The won ton soup was amazing and fresh, everything I tried was good . Food
Superb atmosphere like the one in Brossard. Beautiful decor and organization. The dim sum is made fresh and it s also good I approve
Delicious food, fast and cordial service. I like the way we order the dim sum. Nice not to have to hope to see our favourite items.
Some of the dishes were cold (eg rice noodle with shrimp). And they brought all the dishes at once. Would have preferred they staggered bringing the food. Food taste was good.
Me like general tao yum!
Good food, and it came out quickly! The service was great! The selection is plentiful.
This Chinese spot is a gem! Huge portions, wallet-friendly prices and super nice staff! You absolutely need to try their exceptional dumplings.
Bland food that does not do Chinese cuisine justice.
Place was really good everytime we went! Love eating there!
Top notch service, extremely clean and nice decor. The peanut butter dumplings are so good!
We were there for a party with 26 people. Unfortunately, they were disorganized as a Room was reserved but they placed early guests at 2 tables instead. (Room was COMPLETLY oversized for small group so the 2 tables were OK). Apperantly they tried to still charge for a room as the 2 tables were in a corner area. Guests were completely separated from each other. Food took forever and service was lacking. Food was not great. Few of the servers did not speak English (or French?) Atmosphere was very busy and noisy, but that should be expected in such a big place. Waiter was very friendly but they seemed understaffed. Ive been there twice and dont foresee returning in near future.
Beautiful, modern take on all-day dim sum. Dont let the negative reviews fool you. We were seated right away at peak hours. Food was hot, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Attentive staff.
Saturday brunch , there is a waiting time of fifteen minutes before being able to get a table. QR code is used for order taking. There is not much interaction in the service process. You want to eat and you have the food. That is all.
We wont go anywhere else for Chinese food, the place is absolutely amazing. Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring your kids! Highchairs available in plethora! Food : 5/5 |
We normally eat at Jardin Pekin on St Jean but decided to try this for a change. We should have stuck to our decades old tried and true Jardin Pekin, where we are always warmly greeted and the food is always excellent. The Imperials ambiance is Ok but the staff certainly were not warm, except our waitress who was ok. They try to make the resto cozy but its all concrete floors and weird seating. You cant escape the feeling of being in a warehouse which is essentially what it is. Although the portions were large, the beef dish was one of the worst Ive had in a Chinese restaurant outside of a buffet. It was not properly silked to loosen the tendons and make it soft but was instead rubbery and some pieces were completely impossible to chew. The rest of the dishes were just ok. Nothing special but again reminded me of buffet fare. However the piece de resistance came after we had already paid the rather expensive bill, left a good tip (not the waitresses fault) and were leaving. A waiter came up to us and said we didnt put one of the diet cokes on the bill and expected to be paid. I shelled out change to him, but this was absolutely the nail in the coffin. How petty can you be? We had already paid the bill and he risked customers, (at a relativley new restaurant!!) not only not coming back but leaving a bad review and telling others about this experience for a diet coke that THEY had forgotten about?? There are far better places in the West Island, like what I mentioned above. Skip this one.
trash service and rude people working there
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We came on a Sunday at 5pm for dinner. Their online menu is mobile phone accessible and very easy to read and understand. The restaurant is inside a plaza lot with plenty of free parking. The interior was clean. The mens bathroom however, needs attention. The only two urinals were out of service, there was no hot water to wash your hands with, there was no paper towel to dry your hands with and the electric blower only blew cold air to dry your hands which was not bearable. The bathrooms hallway floor was in poor condition; the floating floor truly felt floating and it was patched up in several different locations. The restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol. Our server, the manager, was friendly and attentive and had a pleasant personality. We ordered Vegetable Spring Rolls, Hot and Sour soup, General Taos Chicken, Ginger Shallot Lamb, Mapo Tofu with Spicy Sauce, String Beans Szechuan Style and rice. All the portion sizes are generous and is served on the Lazy Susan located on the center of the larger tables. All the dishes were well seasoned and very tasty! Later that evening we were all very thirsty most probably from the amount of sodium and MSG used in the cooking process. We will definitely return because the flavor of the food was truly delicious.
The Hong Kong style chicken was delicious. First time Ive had it served this way. The server was very friendly and the food was served very efficiently. We will be back!
I with 3 Canadian friends we all like dim-sum. The food ,the service and the environment are excellent. I am so happy to have a good dim-sum restaurant in West Island saving my trip going to Chinatown.
We went here to celebrate Lunar new Year and even though there were quite a few people, the service was very lackluster. We had to ask FIVE TIMES for water which they brought to us with plastic red party cups that you can find at the dollar store. The food was alright, but the beef was very chewy. It took forever to get a waiter s attention as it would seem like they would be running away from you. And when we did get their attention, they nodded and left without even hearing what we had to say. They kept bringing more food without taking away the plates that were empty, leaving a pile of dirty dishes on our table. The only reason I m not giving it a one star is because I really enjoyed the dumplings, but other than that, the service was less than adequate
The food lacks spices and taste. Not very original. Vegetarian options: They exist but the steamed veg came without any sauce. Mapu tofu had a runny sauce though it should be a thick sauce. You can do better. Food : 2/5 |
Visited during Lunar New Year. Good food and very good service.
Got 2 of my main dishes before the soup and appetizers. When the 2 main dishes arrived before the appetizers I asked to speak to a manager. After 10 minutes I asked someone else to send the manager over to my table he never arrived.. I ordered 4 main dishes the last one never arrived.. the food was ok. Its a shame they dont know how to serve or take care of the people...
Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from Kid-friendliness: They have booster chairs Wheelchair accessibility: It s street level No stairs
Convenient Dim Sum in the West Island. Menu is online only. Please expect to wait on the weekend 20-30mins. Sharing concept menu. It s better if you go with a group so that you get to try different dishes. Plenty parking spaces. Some of the food is a bit salty though.
Best chinese restaurant on the island.
The best Chinese restaurant in West Island, Montreal The best Chinese restaurant on the West Island, in Montreal
Good selection of dim sum. Plenty of parking since located in a mall. Love that I no longer have to go to Chinatown for dim sum.
What a joke. Ordered for pick up weeks ago. Everyone arriving is told order not ready yet. So I wait. Other people get their orders. Still waiting. I ask again. Told still not ready, lots of orders... an hour later, I ask if they even have my order. Its been sitting in a box behind the counter the whole time. They never even thought to check if people waiting might be waiting for the food they have sitting there. Bunch of clowns who work there joking around not doing their jobs. Thanks for wasting my time. And to top it off, there was food missing from my order! Zero stars if possible.
Another successful established chinese dimsum/restaurant.
The morning tea is generally quite satisfactory, the taste is okay, nothing special, and the price is moderate. No order for tea, just fragrant slices .
Very clean, amazing service, food is delicious,I love to have finally a dim sum place in the west !
Food is 5/10, but my wife found a plastic piece in a dish which is absolutely disappointing and dangerous. And waiter is trying to cover their mistakes and bluffing. Furthermore, the way he craving for 18% tips is crazy. Shame on this restaurant. Montreal need more decent and well-operated Chinese restaurants to level up the whole market.
We went here for New Year s Eve dinner but had terrible experience here. The service was fine at the beginning. However in the veggie dish there was a piece of hard plastic that I almost swallowed. I showed it to the server and they said it s from the basket that they stored the vegetables in. But they didn t say what the solution is. When we asked for the bill they still refused to pay for the dish, kept explaining where the plastic came from, which doesn t matter because it s food safety issue and I would have swallowed it if I wasn t a slow eater. Eventually they agreed to give us a 10% discount, ONLY IF we pay in cash. And the server also asked us to give him 18% tip, like the discount is his favor to us. The food was 5/10 and tasted like food court products. Will never come again!
The food was bland and lackluster. The plating was cafeteria at best on plastic dishes with no presentation whatsoever, and they say you eat with your eyes, but not here, a shame because the decor was tasteful. Oh well, back to the South Shore Imperial.
The service and environment are good, parking is easy, but I found food taste not good, it is more like North American Chinese food, doesnt like real Chinese food
Nice Chinese restaurant in the West Island! I was impressed by the fast service for dim sum!
Excellent
Finally! A big West Island dim sum Resto. Certainly delivered in quality and taste. Was sitting around wondering why no food carts were stopping. Realized that it s an online barcoded affair. So please order for the elderly with your smart phones.
Excellent food and speedy service.
What a great discovery! We dined in and everything from beginning to end was delicious. We had the hot and sour soup, the dumplings with peanut butter sauce, the pepper chicken with crispy spinach and the Cantonese chow main. Thank you for the great service. We will be going back and telling everyone about this newly discovered treasure!
Weve been trying to go there for the Dim Sum since opening, but its always busy on weekends and I dont care how good a place is, Im not waiting outside in the cold to eat. Lets start by the most important part, the food. The food is as good as Chinese food gets in Montreal. I have nothing to complain about here. The portions are generous and the cooks clearly know what they are doing. Everything we ordered was tasty. Service : we were seated by a gentleman who showed us our table and left. We sat there 20 minutes waiting for menus. Turns out they are living in the future or were living in the last century. The menu was on a little 10 cm x 10 cm piece of receipt paper that was lying on our table. We had to scan the QR code on that tiny paper. I honestly wasnt sure if I had to just read the menu online and order with a waiter or order through my phone. I waiter another 15 minutes without being addressed by anyone to figure out it was the latter. Once ordered, the food came out quite quickly. They are very efficient.
Food was really good. Fast and great service.
Nice restaurant, service was great, food came out a bit too quickly we ran out of space for the dishes! Would definitely go back though, my family really enjoyed it.
Food is excellent and service is great considering the place is always very busy. The prices are a bit high but its conveniently located with lots of parking. The concept of ordering dimsum with your phone works really well, the food arrived quickly and hot and there is less chaos than a traditional dimsum experience.
Dim sum so good. Portions are big, be careful not to over order!
A very good Chinese restaurants offering a diverse collection of Cantonese dishes at reasonable prices. Most dishes are in the range of $20-$30, except for whole fish (average $50) or lobster (season prices). Portions are generous. Modern set up and decoration. Clean washrooms. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian dishes are on the menu. Possible to request other dishes without meat.
