Casual, BYOB chain spot offering Italian & French dishes, with mussel specials & pasta.
Service is good! Plates look great but everything is way too salty. I finished my plate with the help of a lot of water. I didn’t taste anything else but the salt in the soup.
Food was awesome. I hat the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly. Peppercorn sauce is my favourite. Their crème brûlée was fantastic.
Although the food was quite good, the portions are relatively small for the prices they charge. Service was awful. Had to ask multiple times before a waiter even came to see our table. Was told no modifications or additions could be made to a dish because they were so busy...but the restaurant was half empty. Will not be returning.
As someone commented a few days ago, the mussels were undercooked. When I placed my order, I specifically requested them to be well-cooked, but instead of being well-done, they were undercooked. It's not just because I like them well-done, my friends who were with me also said they were undercooked. When I asked if they could cook them longer, the waitress returned and said that the chef claimed it was not possible to cook them further. The chef explained that each time the mussels are cooked, they become softer and the meat grows larger. They even went so far as to say that because I ordered them well-cooked, that's why the meat was bigger and softer. I was shocked by the lack of knowledge about food, especially from a chef handling food in a restaurant. I have worked in restaurants for 10 years. Mussels and shellfish actually shrink and become more firm the more they are cooked. You can even find this information by Googling it. What they said is completely the opposite. If I’m wrong, I would appreciate evidence to the contrary. It’s concerning that a chef who cannot even judge whether food is properly cooked is serving it. Furthermore, when the dish was brought back to me, it was almost the same as before. I ended up taking it home and cooking it properly myself. After reheating the mussels in a pot at home, they were thoroughly cooked and had shrunk. While I understand that overcooking something like barbecue can lead to it being burnt and inedible, mussels can be reheated safely. For the sake of food safety, please educate yourself about food handling and proper cooking techniques.
Food was very good. Fresh, tasty, lovely presentation. Sadly, service sorely lacking. Water never refilled. Bread was never brought — even though server told us it was in the oven and would be there in a few minutes. Yes, we reminded them. No, it was not busy and they did not appear short staffed. Lots of space between tables. Muted decor. Accessibility very good.
Celebrated here with a large group of people. The service was amazing! Our waiter did a great job handling such a large group. Coming from Ontario, I was pleasantly surprised by the BYOB option, and they provided us with an extra table so we could have our own sweets table. Reason for the four stars is because of the food. The scaloppine dish was not enjoyable. Hardly any taste to the meat and the noodles were plain. I do not recommend that dish.
It was very good! Portions are generous. Staff is friendly. The daily special (main dish and drink) is very good Poutin "Dios mio"
Bring your own wine is nice, but does not make up for the mediocrity of the food and service. The decor and ambiance were nice, but our waitress was abrupt (potentially due to short staffing) and the food was not particularly appetizing. My take is that they are trying to do WAY too much on their menu and should instead focus on doing a few things really well. I had the tortellini rosée which on its own was okay, but the Parmesan they served was the real cheap powdery stuff (like not even Kraft Parmesan level) that has fillers and is weirdly sugary. Made an okay dish awful. Their less than four star rating says it all. Would recommend avoiding.
I will be back anytime, soon! Food : 5/5
A couple of plates were not clean. The lunch menu was terrible. The quantity was very small. The fish does not taste good and was not fresh in addition that I found a price of a shrimp in the plate of chicken poutine. No one came to add more water during our 2 hours in the restaurant. Many family went to this branch in Pointe Claire based on my recommendation which was based on Laval branch. They were very disappointed and will never come back including me. Very bad service and food quality. Despite the previous reviews form other people during the last year, I do not see any action taken from anyone responsible in this branch. An action must be taken by the owner or the manager. Thanks for this experience.

Food is always great, living up to your expectations and friendly and exceptional service.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible Food
Vegetarian options: No much options for vegetarians. Ordered a vegetarian pizza, not well made, smells of eggs, Food
The food (pasta) was terrible. Returned my plate and gave me something worst (liquid tomato sauce instead of rosé) waiter rude and never apologized and charged me for the most expensive plate that i did not eat. Never going back!
we just went today for our office christmas lunch: we were 5 and 3 took pasta (alfredo and smoked salmon). Too salty, it was sauce with pasta and not refined. I took mussels in cognac sauce, again sauce was too salty and only a smattering of soggy fries (not crisp at all). Not worth the price. Our waitress was giving great service, very professional and from Birmingham England.
I came on Wednesday evening at 8.20 pm and they said that they had to close because it was not very busy. although there were 2 large tables (approx. 20 people), I dont think its very professional to do this when it says on google that you close at 10 p.m. I wont be back
Hours nit actuate to kitchen hours. Waited in the front for 10 minutes before a waiter was told to come tell us ..

Reservation made Table lacked glass and utensils The water glasses were all dirty The glasses of wine were disparate Bread plates too The mussels were not well prepared and several were not cooked Vegetables in uncooked mussel sauces No water during the meal No carafes offered for white wine Two servers for the entire restaurant We left after two hours without anyone coming to offer us dessert. It was my sons birthday Quite ordinary in terms of welcome and quality of service and food
Disappointing Experience at L Academie As a fellow business owner, I understand the challenges of running a successful establishment. It s with this perspective that I feel compelled to share my recent experience at your restaurant. I ve been a loyal patron of L Academie for several years, often visiting with my parents, who enjoy your mussels. Dining out is a rare treat for us, given their age and financial constraints. To celebrate my mother s 79th birthday, we decided to dine at your restaurant as a family, joined by my brother. We arrived promptly at 6:15 PM and were seated by the hostess. Our order consisted of garlic bread gratiné, two plates of mussels Meunière, one plate of mussels Marinara, and one filet mignon cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, our experience quickly went downhill. The garlic bread arrived first but was soft and lacked the proper toasting. After a 25-minute wait, I mentioned this to our server. She returned with a single piece of garlic bread that was toasted but without any garlic butter. Another 20 minutes passed before our meals arrived, and the issues continued: Mussels Meunière: The creamy sauce was excessively thick, resembling canned cream of mushroom soup. The leeks were undercooked, the sauce lacked flavor, and most of the mussel shells were empty. I counted only 12 mussels in total, which was disappointing. Mussels Marinara: The sauce was overwhelmingly salty, which posed a health risk for my father, who has high blood pressure. Filet Mignon: The steak was bland and unseasoned, aside from the generic pepper sauce. We wanted to raise these concerns, but our server was largely absent. She only visited twice once to deliver our food and again after I flagged her down to request the bill. Despite the restaurant not being busy, another server appeared much more attentive to her tables. When I finally spoke with our server, she defended herself rather than addressing our concerns. We then shared our feedback with the manager, who was more receptive and ultimately comped our meal, which we appreciated. However, the experience left us deeply disappointed. Consistency, quality food, and attentive service are vital in the restaurant industry, especially during tough economic times when customers are more discerning about where they spend their money. Negative experiences like ours can lead to lost patronage and word-of-mouth criticism. It s heartbreaking to say that we won t be returning to L Accademie. Our family tradition of enjoying mussels together will no longer include your establishment. I hope this feedback helps your team improve for future patrons and that your doors remain open for years to come.
Can t understand why the kitchen would be closed at 8:20pm when the restaurant s hours are until 10pm. Was not able to be served, so very disappointed.
Very friendly owner and delicious food!
The mussels were good, cheerful atmosphere but service had to work 1 hour for a soup to finally receive the main meal before the starter. In short, I do not recommend in any way....
Not good. Gluten free pasta was very bad too :(
So disappointed. My ceaser salad was soggy and the little dressing it had on it was super watered down, and the grilled chicken on top was 3 little strip about 1/4 inch thick and 3 inches long, it was dry and tasteless. I couldnt eat it, it was gross. My husband had the chicken parm. The chicken was very thin and dried out and the tomatoe sauce was like canned chef boyardee . The waitress was never around we had to keep asking other waitresses to get her and when she finally came she said she was super busy the restaurant was only a quart full and in her section there was only 4 other tables. No excuse, never fill up our water glasses, just ignored all 4 of us. Just a really bad experiance all around. We will never be going back...
The Caesar salary, a clump of salad on the plate and manage with your salad, pour some sauce. Scary.. disgusting greasy breaded frog legs scary to serve that as a plate. The unseasoned squid served all pouty and cold, disgusting. 10/15 people disappointed. Excellent duck linghuini, good lobster and shrimp, excellent waiter, excellent atmosphere, but not many people for a Saturday. Our group for an annual meeting we change places the next, finished as place.
Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing, mainly due to the behavior of our waitress, Carol. We were there to celebrate a friends birthday, but Carols rude attitude ruined the whole evening. Our group spoke primarily French, but Carol insisted on speaking to us only in English, despite our efforts to communicate otherwise. Basic service left something to be desired we waited forever for bread, and no one bothered to refill our water glasses throughout the meal. In the end, we left the usual 15% tip, but Carol called us out, complaining that it wasnt enough and that she was counting on the tips to feed her family. This made us uncomfortable, as it is inappropriate to make customers feel guilty for something that is at their discretion. If Carol did her job better, shed probably be tipped accordingly. In any case, we will not come back.
Our waitress was amazing ( the blond girl with cactus tattoos) we went on the Friday for the $1 oysters and also ordered main dishes . Upon bringing our oysters we were told that it was the last of the oysters ...its not as if theyre giving them away ( thats the price of oysters) Also the mussels came with fries ...it wouldve been nice to have more than 10 fries .... food isnt worth the price ... will not go again
Below average food the best part of the meal was the wine that we brought ..
Mike, our server, offered us outstanding service, full of humor and professionalism at the same time. Excellent cuisine. Well deserved 5 stars.
The service was very good but unfortunately the food was really terrible, I wonder if they taste what they serve to their customers! Plus the prices are really expensive for what they are! I really dont recommend
Staff is antipathique and sarcastic. Youd think they would show more appreciation to regulars and kindness towards the elderly. Also, its overpriced and food is mediocre. Dont know why anyone would go back.
We have been coming here a few times over the last year and keep coming back. The food is good and fairly priced. Servince is always good. Bring your own wine is always a big plus...
What a disappointment. Only went to this restaurant because someone gave me a gift certificate. The waiter was obnoxious and condescending. He thought he was the funniest person. He was not. Then he served me the wrong dish. When my dish actually arrived it was over salty and bland. The waiter also brought us a crappy cup of coffee that he thought was the best coffee in town. I cant quite put into words what an absolute waste of a Saturday night, not to mention money this experience was. Do not recommend.
The salad was spoiled and they didnt even put sauce. The lasagna was frozen in the middle and the egg in the middle was spoiled also. The waiter blew it off and played stupid. Guys this restaurant is selling spoiled frozen premade food. Oh! And all that took over an hour to arrive.
A little noisy, but the food was delicious!
AMAZING SERVICE 10/10 SERVER MADE US LAUGH SM WE EVEN GAVE A TIP (WE DONT DO THAT OFTEN)
Excellent food, good service
The lentil soup was burnt.
A friend and I went to dinner at the Academy on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was empty when we arrived around 5:15 p.m. The hostess was cordial and assigned us a table quickly (we were spoiled for choice). We ordered 18 oysters (special at $1/oyster) as a starter, which were delicious, but I didnt like the tomato sauce that came with it. I would have preferred a cute one. I then ordered the mussels in cream as a main course with a salad instead of fries. The salad was really lacking in dressing, but the mussels were the best Ive ever had! My friend ordered pasta with shrimp and it was also very good. At the end of our meal, the restaurant was very busy! The waitress was very nice, helpful, friendly and knew her menu well. On the other hand, she was really in the juice which meant that it took a long time to get our bills. They hadnt separated the elements properly on the latter, so she had to redo them. It still wasnt right after two times and we left it like that because we just wanted to pay and leave. My friend had a gift card that she couldnt use to pay for the oysters, which is ridiculous. All in all, a great experience, but there are still a few areas for improvement.
Only good things to say... Even for groups, the service is impeccable. So is the food. Table of 10, everyone was satisfied and desserts were great.
The Calimar was like rubber they probably microwaved it instead of frying it I had spaghetti with meat sauce literally no taste to it. I was cold ordered coffee it was disgusting and old we sent it back to get fresh coffee.
Worst restaurant in the West Island
Very good food, the staff super kind! And you can bring your wine
food and service was great, Emilie gave us an amazing service.
Emily was a true professional great service!Thank you.
We were a party of 6. I had dined in the past at the other locations which the food and service were excellent. However today this location in pointe claire left much, much to be desired. We ordered 3 salads. 2 Ceasars and one Arugula. The Arugula we sent back as the leaves were yellow and going dry. The lasagna we ordered was unedible. Was cold in the center the cheese had curds and the egg had a very strong odour. The seafood pasta was also very bad. That too we didnt eat. The rest of the dishes were also poor quality. The Cesars dressing was not up to par. We reserved for 3pm. We got our food around 4:15. Seems the staff was busy with other chores. We paid our bill in full and left. Very disappointed really. The waiter asked us if everything was to our satisfaction. We raised our complaints. He saw that we hadnt eaten most of the dishes. He then asked us if we wanted to take them with us....
The chairs and menus were dirty and the service poor. We had to ask for water several times, we waited for long minutes for our waitress for each step and we didnt even get a smile. The food wasnt particularly good, but not bad either. At least it was warm.
I am a regular there for 15+ years. Kept going back there because services and food was always nice. Don t wanna go into details. The manager, the waitress, and the food was absolutely terrible tonight. April 26, 2024
Main issue was the waiting for our food. I order a vegetarian pizza and I waited for over an hour. I was the last one served my main course last. The only credit was the one who served our table.
Normally we go as a small group during the week, but this time we were a larger group on a Saturday, and the noise level where we were seated was deafening. It was almost impossible to carry on a conversation with those at the end of the table. Otherwise, the food and the service were good. Parking: Handicapped parking available
Fantastic service, wonderful food
The atmosphere was warm, the food was excellent! The waitress gave us impeccable service. We receive hot bread with butter while waiting for our meals. We had the fried squid as a starter (delicious), a salmon tartare and duck confit pasta with a lemon tart for dessert. The portions are generous! We will return! Parking: Huge, there is room for everyone! Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible and possible to disembark in front of the restaurant by car.
Place used to be great as affordable dinner out with the BYOB. Food quality is not what it used to be, but prices seem to be going up each time I go.
Joseph, our waiter, provided outstanding service and was highly knowledgeable about the menu. Well certainly return again!
The meal was excellent, I had the gorgonzola mussels and fries it was a very good portion and very delicious! The server was really energetic and the service was fast. We really liked the atmosphere and the experience
Nice ambiance. Went with a group. The meal that I had was just okay. The Calamari was very good. Service was pretty good as well, however the waitress should have come to check on us instead of us always having to wave her over. Nice place for groups. We were seven Update; Went back for a birthday party this weekend which was very nice! However the food was terrible!!!! I ordered the calamari which I had had a positive experience before and it was so salty as to make it inedible. The server asked if I wanted to reorder and then informed me that it would probably be the same so advised that I order something else. The person beside me (my son)had the same problem with his food which was highly over salted and had to be sent back. We both ended up ordering Rib steaks. I ordered medium which came as requested. My son ordered well done which came medium. He didnt want to complain so ate it. I was quite disappointed because the steaks came with 2 VERY small roasted potatoes, 2 roasted Brussel sprouts ,and a very small portion of bland squash. My bill with tax and tip came to 175$ which I wouldnt have minded paying if the food was acceptable (which it was not) I did leave a good tip for the server as he was very pleasant, accommodating and apologetic and it wasnt his fault. He was a very good server. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. They should have at least gave a complimentary coffee for the inconvenience. Very disappointed
Not worth the price
New customs at the LAcadémie Point-Claire restaurant. They ask customers to leave half an hour before closing time. Is the manager aware?
Nice place! But service ???? Not once waiter come to ask if we need more water???? Best thing was one waiter come to the tabel 9.25 pm saying we have 5 min to lives!!!! Restaurant is closed 10 pm ??? How nice was that ????
Decent food offers.
I had lunch last Sunday with my family and I got food poisoning from the mussels I ordered. It s a shame they don t serve fresh seafood, will never go again.
Really not worth the price. Very bad and long service. Food was not very good. Very noisy. Don t bother going.
Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience there. Something was wrong with my food, it was way too garlicy. The waiter handled the situation amazingly well, but for the price we are paying I would not go back. The quality just wasnt there for us.
You should not eat grilled foods. burned black and tasted bad. Waited nearly 2 hours for an imperfect dinner
This restaurant is overbooked and very noisy. You cant have conversations in this restaurant. Many tables are booked for anniversaries. So I dont recommend this restaurant in busy hours . The food is good.
Christmas dinner with work colleagues. Very good restaurant.
Our go-to place for a get-together with old friends. Bring your own wine makes it an affordable night out. Also, easy parking and near McKibbens pub for a pre dinner beer.
Excellent service and excellent food. We can bring our wine. Parking: Shopping center parking lot.
Enjoyed every bite from Caesar salad with surf and turf. My husband had a leg of lamb with the soup entre leek and potato. You can bring your own wine which is a great bonus. Do make a reservation it was packed. This is a good indication of the food and service. Food
Might have been a bad night.
Pros: you can bring your own wine/beer. Lovely venue. Cons: overpriced menu for the quality of food. Pasta was bland and our waitress seemed like she wasn t having a good day. There are better options in the area. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu
Vegetarian options: Were good Food
Sundays kid eats free!
Great food, nice ambiance.
Went there for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the restaurant could accommodate not only our large party but there were several groups there celebrating various milestones. High ceilings helped to make you feel like you had space even when the restaurant was very busy. I had the filet mignon and it was delish. I would highly recommend it for any large gathering you have where you want prompt and friendly service with tasty food and a jovial atmosphere.
Food ok had a ribeye 52$ find it expensive compared to true steak houses
A must in Montreal, I am from Saguenay and I will make the detour every time, the land and sea lassiete is just incredible, we also had very good service from a smiling and very polite young man. 5 stars
Large BYOB restaurant, but with good service and very reasonable prices. Love their mussels, though everything I tried there was good. Service is good, and unlike some other similar places it is not overly noisy inside.
Very nice restaurant, nice atmosphere, good service and good food!
My duck breast was stiff and the accompanying vegetables were cold... Very disappointed for a plate at $42 I often went to the Academy in Saint Denis and everything was perfect... The restaurant needs a good cleaning.
Fantastic good, service a little slow but overall a great experience!
Carol was the most amazing server. Efficient, accurate, dealt with customized orders, elegant British accent. DOUBLE HER SALARY.
Went for a birthday dinner with 7 guests. All of us picked the table dhôte. The soup was delicious. Our server Jeremie was so nice. Gave us recommendations. Food arrived pippin hot. Steak bavette was cooked exactly like asked. The pasta were generous in lobsters. The catch of the day, equally delicious. My only issue was the atmosphe. The music was way too hip for a dinner setting. Slow jazz wouldve been more appropriate than tiktok songs. Desserts were good. Dietary restrictions: Chef accommodated a friends allergy without issue. Parking: Mall parking. Plenty of spaces.
A recognition evening for my employees. The food was excellent and so was the service. Perfect atmosphere for the evening. I chose the fried squid with brushetta and for dessert a piece of lemon tart. It was simply delicious. Given the number of people in the restaurant, I advise you to make a reservation. Thank you for making this moment a success.
Very good, excellent service. We went with our 4 children and everything was perfect. Very clean, nice atmosphere and excellent service.
Very nice restaurant! I should have gone there well before. Good service from our server Nico. Plus its bring your own wine, I love it and Ill go back
Food was great, quick service, ordered the surf n turf, i recommend Parking: Lots of free parking
Super !!
The service was absolutely amazing! We were a big group of 16 and the staff was on top of everything! They were also super fun and definitely added to our great family evening!
With dacadémie it is a bit of luck of the draw as sometimes the food is 5 stars and sometimes closer to 3 stars. This last time I had the veal duo pepe and it was melt in your mouth, creamy deliciousness. Definitely recommend a visit here!
Way to expensive for the portions that you get. A salad with 3 little pieces of chichen and a coffee, with tax and tip, was just under $40.00.
Amazing Lamb with the best waiters.
Excellent service. Very well eaten! Bring your own wine!
Best crabcake in town. Was delicious. Great service! its a little loud for intimate moments but still a good atmosphere for parties!
If I could give negative stars I would. I went to eat there with a friend of mine on Sunday evening, March 5th. She had a gift card and invited me there. I been before, many years ago and it wasn t bad, so why not. Worse decision ever! I ordered the shrimp pasta. After just a couple of bites, I felt off. I put it aside hoping this feeling will pass but it kept getting worse. Long story short, I barely made it home on time. I was sick all night long, waking up every hour, fever, etc. I couldn t get out of bed after for almost 3 days! I m finally back to work today but still feeling super weak and dizzy. NEVER AGAIN! Had a horrible food poisoning experience and i m sure it was the shrimps! I even called to advise them that they should throw out their batch of shrimps, and instead I was offered a $50 gift card, which I obviously refused because I will never be stepping foot in that restaurant. Also, it is so due for renovation. All the leather was scratched up and ripped. So sad. I hope everyone else that ate there are fine!! Most of the customer base were family with kids or elderly people. If I as a young women was so sick, what can happen to an elderly person or a child?? Please take care of your customers and assure what you serve is safe!
They dont honor promotions that the publicize on their website.
Amazing ambiance and the food is great! The staff is also really nice! Bring your wine is always a nice plus:)
We went on a Tuesday evening for unlimited mussels, as mentioned on the menu on the internet, but on site the waitress told us that the mussels were not unlimited! Very disappointing, false advertising, I dont think Ill go back!
The service was good but the food was okay, nothing more. The childrens menu is way too expensive for what you get. I dont think Ill go back there.
This is a mixed-bag review. First off, and never realized this place was a restaurant I thought it was some sort of learning center or something LOL stopped in with my wife. The menu had some interesting choices, the stuff that piqued my interest unfortunately was all higher priced out of my budget for the evening. I opted for a poutine with filet mignon strips. $28 was the price tag on that. Came in a gigantic bowl and was a rather disappointing portion for the money. There were approximately four meat strips in there 3/8 inch wide by approximately 2 in Long at the maximum. Portion aside it was delicious. Sauce could have had a bit more zip...bit delicious. Was served to me exactly with the cooking I had asked for. I should mention that we started with gratini breaded entree, expensive for the tiny portion we received unfortunately. Also had calamari. Cooked to perfection delicious standard price on that portion was okay. Ended with a slice of stale pecan pie which was frozen cold and rock hard when we got it. And coffees. Service was outstanding we had a great waiter super friendly great personality and very helpful. His name escapes me Now, i want to say Louca. ...maybe... Good kid Price vs portion 3/5 Service 4/5 Desert 2/5 I will try again another occasion.
Enjoyed the food
Good food at reasonable prices. The staff are always friendly.
We visited on Easter Sunday and the restaurant was completely packed with large groups. This place accommodates close to 300 people so it can get quite loud at times. Overall the food was delicious from appetizer to my main meal. We had the Caesar salad and fried calamari to start and I ordered the Veal Parmigiana as my main meal. The service was amazing, speedy and efficient. Parking: Large parking available in outdoor strip mall Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available
Family reunion ... byob ... good food and service and you can visit at a leisurely pace!
Onion soup lacks taste. Chicken parmigiana was a bit dry.
We went for lunch. One lady ordered mussels. She sad that they were incredible. One lady orders steak. When the steak was overcooked, a new piece of steak came out very quickly. One lady ordered gnocchi, which was delicious with a very generous portion. The dessert cakes were light yet delicious. Nico our server was very professional yet helpful. He really knew the menu. We had White glove treatment. Nico even came to open the door as we were leaving. We will return for celebratory lunches.
Excellent the lame is great
Excellent good catch
Good food, nice portions and lovely service.
Martin is the best front of house person ever! Every time I go he is wonderful, kind and professional, litteraly just a warm presence for any restaurant!! Tristan was our server and loved every minute of her service, a fabulous asset to any restaurant!! Thank you so much!
Food was fair. Service and ambiance was bad We (couple) got there around 8h30pm on a Friday Waited about 4 minutes before getting greeted Once seated asked server if the oyster where 1$ to which the reply yes ( there was a sign on the door) following that answer we asked if we could get some to which the server replied we dont have any left we found that pretty strange felt like they dint want to serve us that. 15 minutes goes by (8h45) we get told the restaurant is closing kitchen in 10 minutes . (On a friday mind you) they could have warned us when we came in as we did tell them we would be waiting for 2 other people. They did reiterate a second time the kitchen would close Friend show up we order everything goes well During the meal they dim the light of the restaurants pretty dark. Still a few tables full Then at some point the light up the whole restaurant full brightness like a bar closing its doors at 3 am. And the we see all the servers leave. Food was good Experience was far from it
Excellent rib steak and service
Met with old colleagues for an informal lunch. Had an unusual braised beef filled ravioli in a brown mushroom sauce. It was very good & a pleasant change from the usual tomato based sauces Food : 4/5
Ok
The waiter with curly hair (I dont remember his name from Sunday evening) is really great, he deserves his very excellent tips #attaboy
Love this location of L Academie, it is very spacious and lots of parking. They have a special from Sun to Wed, Mussels are $20/order, $19 for pasta. Also it is BYOW, so it s really great for dates, girls night, or family gathering. P.S. Flamande is our favorite sauce for mussels, it s creamy and tasty
I went at lunchtime, and there were fewer people, so it was very quiet. I had a flat iron steak with a salad, it was excellent, my friend ordered salmon with a salad it came with an orange dressing and she said it was excellent.
The food tastes good. The portions are generous, whether starter, main course or dessert. The service is good. That being said, an observation that my main dish was the last delivered (with delay compared to the penultimate dish delivered) in a/group of 24 people. Food presentation is excellent. We eat as much with our taste buds as with our sight. I will return to this restaurant.
Tasteless onion soup with cheese with rubber texture. Cannelloni which seemed frozen and the sauce tasteless. Disappointment
The worst service I ever had on my life, arrogant, long eating time. The rudest waitress ever named Shawna. Absolutely awful, kept asking for help and the manager and she kept refusing. And then some guy came said pretty much said we should leave and then kissed the waitress in front of us. Now. I work and manage restaurants at the airport. I Will make sure everyone that goes through the airport hears about the worst possible possible place ever in Montreal, the worst management and staff ever. I don t recommend going there cause with that attitude there will be health issues involved. Protect yourself never go to l académie Pointe-Claire
Over priced, with bad service. Our waitress was scolding us for not ordering properly, when she made a mistake and billed me for an appetizer that was not mine, it was the other ppl at the table this was the second bad experience in the past two months with the same waitress. The manager was also very rude and dismissed our concerns regarding the waitresses behaviour. She was condescending and not very friendly. The restaurant was loud and the music was loud. So to hear anyone, you had to almost shout, he told us we were shouting! but, it wasn t that we were shouting at him or the waitress, you had no choice because everything was so loud , He even said to us are you finished? So he could leave the table, and then walked away .very unprofessional. Never check on us.. we had to wave another waiter down to ask for napkins and utensils, and it wasn t extremely busy tonight. Not a very good experience, won t be going back. It will definitely be Vivaldi s or La Vieux Fort Manago next time. It s worth the extra dollars for better service, friendliness and hospitality.
Had lunch on a Sunday. Mussels themselves were good but the sauce was goopy and had nearly inedible whole peppercorns. fries were soggy and bland. Pizza was not good. The bathroom was gross and had really large ads for male diapers. Not a terrible experience but wouldnt go back.
Good food, good service and a nice atmosphere.
Fast and efficient service, very respectful employees
Intolerance to young children wandering
Calf liver not very tender...
Worse place I have been in years. The fondue was breaded cheese sticks. Gnocchi was tasteless. The waitress was slow and argumentative. Don t even bother. 1/10 Food : 1/5 |
Excellent flavor and great service! I had the tortellini Rosa and couldnt get enough of that flavorful sauce that I wiped clean with the freshly baked baguette. Ill be coming back. Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian options including the delicious Rosa tortellini.
We had gone there (group of 9) for a birthday dinner, I found that our waitress was very professional, she was polite , she gave great service and smiled throughout our time there. Her colleagues also were also very polite and informative. I also want to thank the other waiter for being kind enough to bringing me hot water in order for me to warm up my one month old sons milk bottle! I really appreciated it! Oh before I forget The food was also good.
Good food mostly italian. Expensive. Food
Dinner for 2 people Delicious Duo pepe veal Chicken Parmesan was coated with a lot of breading for my taste
I strongly recommend the pasta and tartare.
Unfortunately this place has lost its mission. Previously this place was a great value, great service restaurant. Now it s overpriced and underserved. Had to wait infinitely to get water glasses refilled? Wine we brought was not opened or served. White wine and lemon mussels sauce was terrible and the veg pizza which is supposed to have sautéed vegetables on it did not. I asked them manager what was sautéed on true pizza and he said peppers and onions. Both were put on raw. My pizza looked like it was from the kids menu. If you are going to charge 22-25$ for a little pizza a little effort should be put in. The manager did take the pizza off the bill which was appreciated. But they really need to get back to the old ways.
Great experience.
academie is always great
Service was above average, Food was average, portions are small, prices are high.
They don t close at 10 they close at 9.
Family restaurant with kids menu, friendly service, BYOB.
We celebrated a 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday July15th for some very dear friends in this resturant. There were approximatly 50 guests. Our section was served by a very pleasant young lady, Kassidy. She took cake of all our requests and always checked so see if we needed anything. Kassidy was part of this excellent experience. Excellent food and excellent service! Returned on Sunday August 27th for a birthday celebration. We cant get enough of this place!! Served by Jessica. Thank you Jessica for a memorable birthday!
Enjoy your dinner! Mike gave us impeccable service. Very nice personality, excellent sense of humor and very efficient. We will come back without hesitation
Thanks Mike you have just an amazing energy! Thank you for a great evening!
Mike was fantastic! Thanks to everyone for good food and a good time. Prices a great even considering BYOB ;)
We were very disappointed; the mussels were not blended with the sauce and not very hot. The pasta was overdone and not very flavourful.
Food bland. Nothing to recommend this place over many others. Parking: Ok Wheelchair accessibility: Ok
Amazing food and service! Great ambiance! Mike was a fantastic waiter!
Ive been there twice and both times I was disappointed with the food, the service was excellent but zero for the food
Ugh! Very ordinary, lack of flavor and finesse, linguine served with the veal had no flavor plus we had to ask for basic quality peppers and parmesan in a large wooden bowl.. mediocre Caesar salad, it was the first and last time!
First and last time for me. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and left at 9:15 p.m., the service was very long. Extremely noisy restaurant we had difficulty hearing each other spoken. In addition, I am gluten intolerant, the menu mentions that there is gluten-free pasta served with a $2 surcharge, I make sure of other gluten-free options and I have to remind the server what is Its gluten. I took the surf and turf plate. I received my filet mignon without sauce to avoid gluten, however my lobster tail was breaded... so I didnt eat it! Since my visit to the academy I have been sick due to gluten, I am really disappointed because I asked for my gluten free options in addition to specifying to the waiter my intolerance as well as what gluten is, the restaurants are supposed to be trained for this type of particularity of allergens/intolerances. Unfortunately for them, I will never go back and I couldnt leave a review following my visit, especially if a celiac wants to try the restaurant. I have been sick for 2 days with severe pain. Really disappointing restaurant.
Number 1 to encourage
My dishes, a scallop and a salmon tartare, were OK, but I had to wait a very long time and ask more than once for ketchup with my fries. Once our table was served, no more staff in sight. The waitress told me she was going to get some while serving my plate, then disappeared and didnt come back to see if everything was okay. I had to find another server and ask him. My friends ribs were very dull, dry, had to be cut with a steak knife, and rather disappointing in taste. Finally, I was charged for my friends dish, which cost more than mine, and I unfortunately made it the next day.
Delicious! Very nice atmosphere also and excellent service. The portions are generous and its comforting Italian food. Well liked for the first time.
I went to eat at your place last night and I was very disappointed. I was even served burnt frog legs... You will certainly understand that I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone
Very nice restaurant. Food quality is above average. Fast and friendly service. Great ambiance
It is a quiet place, with very good service. Wine or champagne is allowed and they have a la carte dishes as well as daily specials. I gladly recommend LAcademie Restaurant, to enjoy with family, friends or with someone special, make your reservation.
A super nice evening.
I got the impression that everything was cooked from frozen. The Coquille St. Jacques was hot on the outside yet frozen on the inside. The parmisan fondue was not fresh. For the muscles dijonnaise, the muscles themselves were ok, but the sauce had no flavor, even after adding salt and pepper, which I never do. The table dhôte lobster linguini had the same problem, NO flavor. The lobster itself was good. The sauce not so much. A friend had the veal parmisan. She had a tough time cutting it. It was overcooked. When pointed out, the server went to speak to someone in the kitchen. The message we got was that thats how it is cooked there. Another person at a close by table said theirs was tough too. None of us stayed for coffee, tea, or dessert. The service was quite good. The wait staff is professional and attentive. Its unfortunate that the food did not live up to expectations. Food is too expensive with no taste. We wont be returning. Youve been warned.
This restaurant is awesome. Classy and elegant. The food was to die for
