Restaurant
We had an amazing experience at Lou's! Our waitress and barmaid, Nadya, was incredibly helpful and attentive. She guided us through both the drinks and food menu with expertise, making excellent recommendations that truly enhanced our dining experience. Her friendly demeanor and knowledge made us feel welcome and well cared for. The food was delicious, and the drinks were perfectly crafted. We can't wait to return!
My partner and I tried Lou’s for the first time and had a great experience. The ambience, lighting and decor is charming. The service was fast, the staff were attentive and friendly. I had the burger, while my partner had the rigatoni. To start, we had the dinner rolls which came with herbed butter. We could eat those rolls for eternity. We shared of a few bites of each others meals and both were delicious! She also loved the Spicy Margarita cocktails. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone coming through the area in search of a nice meal!
I recommend online reservation prior to your plan on dining. We went on a Saturday evening around 6pm, there was no available table online so we decided to just go there and check. Fortunately, there was an available table outside, but put in mind it was a cold evening, and no outdoor heater provided. Servers were friendly, but the service was slow. The food was okay. I ordered a burger since I read the good reviews online, though it’s just a regular burger with fries to me. Nothing special about it. I like the pasta Genovese that my friend ordered tho.
Had such a lovely dinner at Lou’s. Definitely recommend a reservation. Great atmosphere and service was lovely. It’s so fun to have a nice spot in Point Claire. I died for the cocktails - they’re amazing. The burger is perfect and the fries are SO good. Had the tuna carpaccio which is a must and for dessert the bread pudding is to die for. Definitely excited to come back.
I’ve been to Lou’s a few times, food is excellent but eventually the menu will get tiring, so hopefully they come out with some seasonal menu for the fall/winter ! The mains are tasty and good portions, but the entrees all quite pricey for what they are. overall it’s a great addition to the West Island and I know they will continue doing well!
Everything we ordered were fantastic. Highly recommend the spicy tuna carpaccio, beef tartare, crab cake, baked scallops as appetizers. Pasta and rib steaks (25oz) were also good. Only minor thing was the fires was overly salted otherwise it was very good fries. Great service and chill vibe. Nice to see that West Island have this kind of restaurant. Highly recommended. The downside was that the restaurant was very warm and humid. Like some other reviews mentioned. The AC definitely not working well.
We just had dinner here, we’ve been excited to try it since it opened in the village. The food was good. The crab cake was delish! Mmm. The braised beef pappardelle - pasta Genovese was good but not to die for. But, it was way way too hot. We asked the waitress if the ac is working she replied “oh yes it is fully on, it’s a small space and doors are open all the time and I’m hot too…”. It was also very loud. It’s very small and very loud though esthetically pretty. My first choice was the Caesar salad, but I wanted some chicken on it. So I asked and the waitress and she said they can’t do it…even though they have a roasted chicken dish. Then I debated the burger, but wanted to substitute the fries for a Caesar salad. She quickly replied “it’s company policy we can’t do that…” umm… 🙄 Odd as they have a bowl of salad as a meal ( no chicken offered yet they serve chicken as a meal…) very rarely do we come across a restaurant that can’t alter or modify things to make customer happy especially a nicer place like this one that isn’t a huge chain. The wine and beer were very small for the cost- the beer wasn’t even a pint for $9. Overall we didn’t enjoy the experience fully. We wouldn’t come back unless it was for someone’s birthday for example.
What an amazing burger and fries, but the service made me give them 4 stars. These days tip starts at 20% but they not woth it many times. I think they check up on us once and I had to ask for vinegar twice and never got it. Shame as I loved the food.
Service was on point! Waiters were very knowledgeable of menu items and wines. Atmosphere is very loud, its a small and cozy spot but ceilings are low so that makes the surrounding chatter all the more enhanced. Food was underwhelming to say the least. Beef tartare was missing seasoning and flavor and it gor served on a plate that had just come out of the dishwasher! Plate was hot! The onion dip itself was good but the chips were clearly 2 seconds away from being burnt. I do not understand how the chef thought it was ok to serve that. We ordered a ribsteak and it was also missing seasoning. The temperature was a medium rare but the steak was cold in 2min after being served. The sauce for the steak was the best think I tasted that day. Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen so I will give them another try.
Well managed business
Good service and ambiance Vegetarian options: Yes Food : 4/5 |
I clearly stated and ordered vegetarian and was brought PORK. I was confident eating thinking its vegetarian when I realized its not! NOONE apologized and just brought smth else instead as if its normal. Im strict vegetarian for years and this is absolutely unacceptable. Do not recommend.
Was there for special birthday. Food was good/ok rib steak was les than good Caesar salad was the best of our choices. Cute place, but wont be returning.i get quality over quantity. But there is a serious disconnect between when I expect and what we got. Food
A beautiful jewel in the village. Great cocktails, amazing food and professional, friendly service. Can t wait to go back
Great restaurant with impressive drinks. Had dinner on a Thursday night and every plate we shared was delicious. A good overall vibe inside, right level of music, and did not feel rushed. I will be back.
Amazing food, attentive service, a must for foodies and food lovers alike. Fantastic vegetarian options. Well worth the trip out of the core, can t wait to go again!
Now I understand why its always booked! Delicious, fantastic ambiance and great service. Definitely coming back Food
Beautiful place . Very cozy. A bit loud (but doesnt take away from the charm) Lou de mer plate was amazing . Drink are good
Best burger in town! Excellent beef tartare.... Fast service, this small neighborhood restaurant is worth the detour.
Had a good dinner overall.
Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options on the menu however if you communicate your dietary restriction they were very accommodating. Food
Went into Lou s for dinner the other night and was absolutely blown away by the service. My amazing server Maggie was very personable very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us with deciding what to get. (We had scallops and rolls) It was a very pleasant visit and I will be sure to come by again. Outstanding service , outstanding atmosphere and phenomenal food.
We had 3 dishes. Two of them were tasteless and the third was too spicy. So spicy that the food had lost all its taste. The amount of food on the plates is ridiculously small. But the price in the end..... Way too high. Drinks were ok. The atmosphere too.
If you havent been yet, its an absolute must. So delicious and the staff is awesome!
The food was so good and the service was phenomenal and so attentive. Olivia took great care of our group!
We absolutely loved this place. On par with some of our downtown favorites. We will be back with our friends and family for sure!
Food was amazing, service was even better. Katia was very helpful deciding which plates to choose. I recommend Lou s to everyone.
First time at Lou s and it was just too perfect. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was calm and cute but what really made our night was our fantastic server, Bella. She was so nice, funny and was so quick with any of our requests or orders. I don t know who was in charge of hiring, but you nailed it. #teambella
Very very very strong addition to the west island! Probably the strongest in my book. Packed on tuesday night (Says a lot), great food (highly recommend the aged steak), great drinks and make sure not to skip the homemade dessert (Awesome!). Koodos to the whole team, doing a great job!
Very expensive , slow service , micro Martínis for the price.
Heard good things about the restaurant so decided to try it when family was in town. Table of four sat at around 6pm. Greeted and seated right away but no drinks order taken for 10 minutes (we did get water). Eventually got drinks and gave our appetizer order (brioches and 12 oysters) and mains at the same time. Drinks were excellent although beer selection was poor due to lack of options. Then time slowed down, a table of 6 and 3 seated got seated near us. The table of 3 got their appetizers and mains before us and the table of 6 their appetizers. We ordered nothing that would indicate long wait times nor did the staff let us know of any delays. We had to ask were our appetizers where after 40 minutes but once they arrived were great, no issues! Brioche was excellent as was the butter and you can t really mess up oysters. We added fries to our order as they looked great on other tables. Received main meals at 1940, so 90 minutes after we arrived and a good 70-75 minutes after we ordered. One issue we had was partially our fault as the sea bass had a dairy based sauce and we never stipulated that the individual ordering it had a dairy allergy. They refired the meal and had it out in 8 minutes so great service there. Overall, meals were great, the demi poulet/chicken had some weird kale confection that was unappealing but the chicken itself was excellent. The eggplant parm and the seabass were very good choices. Not the best but very well done by any standard. We didn t complain but the restaurant was proactive and did comp us for some drinks and the fries stating that the service was not up to their standard. It would have been nice to have the delay(s) acknowledged before the bill arrived, but we did appreciate them acknowledging the fact the service was poor. Can t say we would ever go back and likely our bad experience was a one off but given the prices are a tad high for what they offer, I can t see us coming back
Great local restaurant in the heart of Pointe Claire village.
Dined here the other day and it was an amazing experience ! Crab cakes, chicken and pasta were phenomenal! Our server Maggie was such a pleasure , extremely knowledgeable and nice ! Would definitely recommend trying :)
Got to go twice recently and the food was amazing both times! The staff is great and the cocktails are the best in Montreal!
What a gem! Everything was outstanding - food quality, friendly service, great vibe, and the cocktails... wow. All for a great price. Ill be back, again and again!
From the moment I walked in, I was smiling. The ambiance, the food, the staff - all five stars. The mocktails were fantastic and the food was hot, fresh and top quality.
The food, the service, the ambiance; all 5/5! Everyone at our table loved everything about Lou s : it was a delicious, authentic and comforting experience! Can t wait to go back! Thank you!
We made reservations, got To the restaurant then be told that they made a mistake and asked us if we would like to have a drink while standing up in the middle of the hallway for 20 minutes until our table can be maybe ready. Super unprofessional. We ended up leaving
Food was fantastic! Service slightly slow but it was busy. Waiters were attentive and knowledgeable! Definitely recommend this place. A small gem!
Their tuna carpaccio is incredible ! And loved their striploin. I had a great experience.
Everything is always spot on. Service and food. Beautiful space and unmatched in the West Island.
We had the pleasure of eating at Lous yesterday and we were quite impressed. The service was excellent, food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We definitely recommend checking them out!
Small servings for the price. Service was way below average.
Everything was delicious and service was great. The vibe and decor are awesome. Highly recommend the spicy tuna carpaccio and the pasta. Food
Good experience overall. I can see they are trying to do something different here. I get the new hype of having a hip downtown-like restaurant in the west Island. Its good, but a bit pricey for what you get especially for the sea bass. The tuna was great but the boat load of garnishes (3 different types of onions, this coming from someone who often puts too many onions in my own dishes) really takes away from the dish. Genovese was amazing no complaints there. Cool spot, hope for more just like this in the area!
Very noisy, poor service and too slow, food unfortunately not really good. Not bad but not worth returning, definitely dont recommend
Food was delish. We were 4 people who all ordered pasta but were not offered fresh pepper, or parm, hot sauce. Room is a bit too loud to converse comfortably.
Incredible experience from A-Z. A can t-miss gem in the West Island of Montreal.
This rating is not about food, nor service. We couldnt get either. Its about the attitude towards potential clients. And if I could have put a zero, I would have. After asking and being told, There are no reservations for the terrasse. Its first come, first served. Opens at 5pm. My friends and I planned, and attempted 3 times, to get seats there. Twice we checked and the terrasse was closed. The third time, we arrived at 4:30. No one there, all tables lined up and set. But a sign Section Reserved. When we asked inside about this, saying we planned 3 times, we were told, Yes, the terrasse is reserved tonight and in a very non-caring tone of voice, Oh, thats unfortunate. I find the attitude toward potential clients unfortunate.
Really nice spot. Food was delicious and they have a great selection of wines! The waitress, Lenny, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I m so happy the West Island finally has a spot like this one, I m already looking forward to my next visit :)
Exciting atmosphere, beautiful layout, breathtaking food and drinks selection, as well as A1 service! Easily a 10/10!
Poor quality, limited choice and astronomic bill. Highly disappointing!
Great experience, great staff and better food!
Great place
Best burger in the west!
My husband and I really enjoyed our night! We unknowingly reserved for the bar which unbeknownst to us, was very pleasant. Our bartender Addy was simply wonderful and we got to know the restaurant on a much more intimate level! The food was exceptional and you can tell how much work and dedication the chefs put into every dish. Highly recommend the tuna carpaccio and the scallops which were divine! Also the Caesar salad and the rigatoni were phenomenal. A hidden gem in the West, will definitely be returning!
My server Evelyn was very knowledgeable and kind. The food was delicious and our drinks even better. Thanks for a great evening!
I went with two of my friends and was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the cocktails were some of the best I ve had. It s a really nice atmosphere and I will definitely be coming back!
Great quality of food with affordable prices. Additionally offers a nice atmosphere to go with it. Staff is solid and provided an enjoyable experience.
Loved the tuna carpaccio, delicious and beautiful dish. Had good service, the staff was consistent with checking up and refilling our waters! Definitely recommend
What an incredible gem of a restaurant! Definitely worth the drive for those not already in the West Island (theres parking in the back!). The food is exceptional, knowledgeable and welcoming service staff and the vibe is perfect! A must!
Very enjoyable experience eating at Lou s! The menu is simple yet refined, I started with the tuna and baked scallops and was not disappointed! Refreshing to have a spot like this in the West Island!
Great service, great food. We had the eggplant parmesan and the cheeseburger Thank you!! Food
First timer and I wasnt sure what to order so our waitress Maggie guided us and we couldnt have been more impressed! Super service!
First time going with the whole family ( 4 adults) We had the pleasure of being greeted by Jono ( GM and partner) and served by Haylo, bartender extraordinaire. Great twist on some classic cocktails. Very impressive wine selection. The food was on point. Burger, pasta genovese, strip loin, sea bass I highly recommend the baked scallops and the Tuna carpaccio. Haylo is a machine not only serving us at the bar but also handling the rest of the cocktail orders trust me lots of work , focus and concentration Jono runs a smooth operation the whole staff is on the ball very efficient , friendly I read some of the other reviews and yes, it can get loud but you can t control how people talk especially with groups over 6 people We got there at 8 by 9 the ambiance was definitely more subdued Regardless, great experience- emphasis on quality and not quantity Definitely has a downtown vibe but with less traffic to get there Highly recommend
This restaurant is an absolute gem! The staff is exceptionally friendly, the food is outstanding, and the ambiance is charming. The location adds to the overall appeal. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Best cocktails I ve ever had!! Food was amazing!! Portions are also quite generous!! GET THE BURGER!! 100/10
We had a large group and the service and food was amazing! Can t go wrong with the chicken and the burger.
Excellent service and food! The servers were attentive and friendly, and the general manager really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top tier. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a fine dining experience with reasonable prices. The cocktails are also outstanding. I ll be back here as often as I can!
The best burgers in town, the tuna carpaccio is truly out of this world. The scallops have a unique flavor, and my father ordered the Genovese , and even though hes not a big fan of pasta, this one really captivated him. Highly recommended!
Great upscale menu. Fills a gap in the west island
Lou s Restaurant offers an exceptional casual dining experience with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is a perfect blend of modern sophistication and relaxed comfort, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening out. The food is simply outstanding. The fish dish I had was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. The crab cakes were a delightful appetizer, packed with rich, succulent crab meat and just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken dish was equally impressive, featuring juicy, well-seasoned meat paired with fresh, vibrant greens. The wine selection is well-curated, complementing the dishes beautifully. I particularly enjoyed a bottle of Vigna Renuzza, which was recommended by the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Overall, Lous Restaurant delivers on all fronts delicious food, excellent wine, and a fantastic atmosphere. It s a place I ll definitely return to and highly recommend to others looking for a top-notch dining experience. One suggestion is to definitely get an espresso machine. Please.
The food is very good, staff is efficient. We liked the resto but found it a little noisy. Prices are on the upper side of the scale. No surprise since all restos are increasing their prices. Overall a great experience.
Great food and service, the West Island definitely needed a good spot like that! I hope this place stays busy for a long time! Cheers!
Had the most amazing dinner at Lou s! Everything from food, service, to ambiance was just spot on. We ordered almost everything on the menu and it was all amazing. I particularly loved the onion dip, tuna tar tar and the burger. Can t wait to go back!
They did not have a lot of things that they had on the menu. Their menu is already small. They had no pasta left. Then they only had 1 burger? Who has 1 burger left? We had a reservation for 6 people. The tuna carpacio was good and their fries were pretty good too. Will not be back tho
Amazing restaurant! You can tell it s a labour of love for the chef. As a fellow chef I know how much effort it takes to develop such depth of flavour! Everything was executed perfectly and the service from Katia was efficient and friendly. A must try!!
Definitely a restaurant to recommend! Although reservations are required, I called, and luckily, got a place within the next 15 minutes. The service was extremely fast, the food was delicious and the restaurant is very charming! Thank you to the whole team for this beautiful expression!
Service was exceptional, drinks delicious, but unfortunately main course for 6 out of 7 diners was served cold. Furthermore, the dishes were not the same as earlier visits, not enough sauce in the pasta, salad leaves whole, no vinaigrette on half the salad, bread pudding underwhelming. Several diners had already been a few times, enjoyed their meals. Perhaps trying a new chef? We wont go again.
Some of the best food in the West Island! Everything was bang on. Food, service, atmosphere. We had a bit of everything.. Oysters, crab cake, beef carpaccio, tuna carpaccio, Parker rolls, chicken dish, sea pass, pasta, fries, it was all very very good. Martinis are also really good. Definitely coming every time I m in Montreal. They also accommodated our last minute reservation and were super cool when we had to change the reso a few times.
delicious
We had this restaurant on our list of new places to try and were excited to get a table and try it out. It is a cute place with a nice atmosphere. The food was very delicious except very pricey for the portions you get. Entrees are definitely not shareable. For example, we were 2 people and the scallop entrée only came with 3 very tiny scallops... A couple items were sold out by the time we got there also, so our options were limited for ordering. It was nice to try, however, the price wasnt worth the experience for us.
Very excited to have a new and trendy spot in Pointe-Claire Village! The food was excellent in terms of flavour, the service was fair and the cocktails were good but overpriced. As for the portions, this is where Im left unsure if I would ever go back. For 200$, my husband and I did not leave satisfied. The pasta portions are quite small and the entrees too. Its all very tasty but not at all worth the money...its too bad. Hopefully they can increase portions.
Food is OK but portions are tiny. They don t have enough tables on the terasse so if you don t keep ordering they semi-politely ask you to leave so they can seat the next customer. It s not worth what you pay and you don t get to relax knowing someone is eyeing your table!
Our friend extended an invitation to us for dinner, and we were presented with a diverse selection of culinary offerings. The quality of the food was exceptional. I would wholeheartedly endorse their establishment to anyone seeking a positive dining experience.
Hands down the BEST restaurant in the west island. An incredible dining experience from head to toe, I have absolutely zero complaints! The service was impeccable, and somehow the food managed to be the star of the show.
Super nice little friendly restaurant in the heart of the magnificent village of Pointe Claire. Excellent meals but expensive for the size of the dishes served
Excellent experience all around!
Service was excellent! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Plan to go back to enjoy the patio next time.
The place was fun, but so loud. Couldn t hear my wife talk. I would recommend getting several appetizers to share based on the sizes.
Great food and awesome wait staff. Highly recommend! (Get the spicy tuna carpaccio!!!!)
Amazing food! Very nice mocktail options. Definitely a go-to spot in Pointe-Claire Food : 5/5
we had an amazing experience , food was amazing , service was amazing , i would recommend this place !! very cozy atmosfere
Great food. Great vibe. Great staff. Great staff. Great crowd. Just what the West Island doctor ordered as a new addition to the area.
Amazing food, amazing service. The manager Jonno made sure we were well treated, our server Katia was an absolute delight. Highly recommend!!!
We had a wonderful evening at Lou s. Food was great, and good value for the price. There were four in our party, so we were able to try a number of different dishes, all were very good, and a couple, the fish, and creamed veg. were great. Great cocktails. Excellent service. The whole experience was wonderful. The decor is very pleasant, with very comfortable seating. The place was noisy with chatter, but we quickly adjusted to this. The music was kept at a reasonable volume, and didn t interfere with conversation. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food! One of the best tartares I ve ever had! The staff is extremely friendly and makes the experience even better Parking: Parking lot in the back, street parking in front also
Food was very good. Some of the best service i ve had especially for the west island. The staff was very friendly everyone always had a smile and the place looks amazing love the mirrors into the kitchen
Food was delicious and the service was great ! We were a large group ( 9 pp) and was impressed with how smooth the service was. I highly recommend and will definitely go back !
The specials were so good and it was such a lovely atmosphere to celebrate Mother s Day with our family. Service was quick and attentive, food was well balanced and the set menu is a great option for larger groups.
Pros: Service and atmosphere were very on point. Tuna carpaccio was amazing! Fries were amazing. Cons: my strip-loin steak was unfortunately quite overcooked :( very disappointing. Food
Cool new spot in point Claire village. I m glad they kept the vintage vibe The food was really good. Personally I didn t like the scallops and I normally love scallops Maybe I got a bad one
Highly recommend a trip to Lou s if visiting the Montreal area! Everything from the food, cocktails, staff and atmosphere made the experience incredible. The lavender espresso martini is amazing!!! I will definitely be visiting again next time I m in the area!
Good food and great service. The manager was very accomodating and welcoming. Had the pasta Cavatelli which was ok (sauce was a little watery) but the cheeseburger was fantastic. Also had the onion dip which was ok, but overpriced for what was essentially thin Ruffles chips and onion dip.
Very expensive...very very ordinary, I thought I was having a culinary experience...but no Tough steak, dessert tasted nothing. Nice waitress and knows her menu. For $200 Id rather go elsewhere
We LOVED our first experience at Lou s!!! Menu is small but you can find a bit of everything to satisfy everybody! Our server Lenny was excellent!!! She made a difference in our night out! Pasta Genovese were actually better than some pasta we had in Italy!! We ll be back real soon!
Nice little restaurant with some delicious options. Sea bass was excellent, however the portion was quite small for the asking price. Appetizer of tuna was excellent however the $22 crab cake was over spiced, over priced and lacked the fresh taste of crab. All side dishes are an extra cost. The macaroni and cheese is very strong and their fries while tasty, are not evenly cooked so the majority were overdone. Dessert menu was lacking as they only had one option which was a type of pudding chomeur that resembled more of a piece of French toast with ice cream on top and caramel drizzle. Hopefully they add a coffee menu such as espresso and cappuccino since French press was the only option available. This restaurant is one room that holds about 50-60 people max so the atmosphere is quite loud with no option of reducing the noise. Thankfully, their staff is very professional and provides excellent customer service.
My experience at Lou s was phenomenal! Highly suggest the place. Great staff and amazing food. We ate the Parker Rolls paired with the Scallops after a server had recommended that for starters. For the mains we ordered the Burger and the Ravioli and both were spectacular! The gin fizz and the Martinis kept us nice and refreshed.
Food is always very delicious and thoughtful, I especially love the sea bass. The onion dip is also very yummy. The service is friendly and attentive. The martinis are perfect.
Finally got to try Lou s, what a great addition to the village! The atmosphere was great, the staff was attentive and capable of accommodating a large group. I had the tartar and pasta genovese which were both excellent and so were the drink selections. Everyone at the table enjoyed their orders! Can t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Fantastic restaurant! Highly recommend the pasta Genovese and the tar tar. Will definitely be going back again
It was exciting to go to a new place in Pointe-Claire. Nice decor but very loud. Perhaps it s the high ceilings or the open space dinning room but it was hard to have a conversation. The waitress had to speak soooooo loud it was almost a little aggressive. The steak and fries were overcooked. A simple menu and they can t even cook it right. 2/2 steaks were overcooked. And it s overpriced. Not impressed.
Downtown vibe but in the village. But very loud. The beef tartare, and crab cake were very good. Mac n cheese was a little dry. The burger was excellent. The sea bass was good but a small portion. The eggplant parmigiana was ok and the size was more of an entree than a main. The cocktails were also just ok.
Excellent food, drinks and service. Not one bad thing to say. Compliments to sous-chef Luca who took great care of us.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend it. Everything was delicious and everyone super friendly.
A small Jewel in Point Claire village!
cool vibe, great atmosphere Me and my friend ordered 1 drink each, ordered our food and 30 minutes later, the power goes out. After waiting 45 minutes in the dark, the waitress comes and tells us that payment can only be made via cash or leaving a picture of a CC. I didnt have cash and was not comfortable leaving a picture of my CC so I asked to e-transfer. The manager came up and said etransfer is okay, charged us for our drinks + added tax + added an 18% tip without asking if it was okay. i obviously paid but was disappointed in this behavior and it left a bad taste in my mouth about the business of this restaurant.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lous in Pointe-Claire, and my party and I had a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a pretty cute vibe, with a dark wood interior and cozy seating. I had the beef tartare as an appetizer and it was delicious - perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. For my main dish, I tried the Pasta Genovese, and it was one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever had. The noodles were al dente, and the braised short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender. For dessert, Im pretty sure I got a bread pudding, but whatever it was, it was heavenly... omg. I also got three martinis/cocktails, all were great! I will be coming back soon :)
Absolutely delicious dinner! Can t wait for my next visit!
Honestly the food was amazing, the restaurant is so nice, amazing ambiance and our waitress Katia gave us one of the best service experiences ever. 10/10 recommend
Service and food was on point. Will definitely be coming back.
This place was so cute! The vibes were amazing I had the strip loin with a side of Mac and cheese and it was all incredible. The service was great!! We will definitely be coming back! Food : 5/5
New restaurant in the village of Pointe-Claire...yes! Support local businesses...yes! FIRST AND LAST TIME!! The food is good but thats it! One person asked for bacon on their burger. Sorry, we dont have bacon. Another person ordered a Caesar salad, and surprise...bacon in the salad. The main course service was very slow (on a Wednesday evening). When we finished our meal, ONE choice of dessert!! No thanks, well have coffee. Sorry, we dont serve coffee...WHAT???? To top it off, after the slow service, we were asked to leave because they needed the table! WHAT??? Good luck to Lous. Not sure youll be in business for very long!! New restaurant in the Pointe-Claire village...yay! Encourage local business...yay! FIRST AND LAST TIME!! Food is good but thats it! One person asked for bacon in his burger...sorry we dont have bacon. Another person ordered a Ceasar salad, low an behold...bacon in the salad. Main course service was very slow (on a Wednesday night). When we were done with our meal, ONE choice of dessert!! No thanks, well have coffees. Sorry we dont serve coffee...WHAT???? To top it all off, after the slow service, we are asked to leave because they need the table! WHAT??? Good luck Lous. Not sure youre going to be in business very long!!
Really nice addition to the West Island! Small restaurant with a very nice atmosphere inside! Great food and drinks
Dinner was absolutely amazing, with great service. The tuna carpaccio was delicious, and the two pasta dishes were very tasty. Really had a great time, a very good gem in this neighbourhood.
Finally an awesome restaurant in the West Island
Exactly what the West Island needed!! Great food, ambiance, service and overall vibe. For sure my new go to
Amazing spot! Great food! Excellent service. The general manager Jono is incredibly friendly and personable. Will most certainly be back!
Great food .. pasta genovese was fantastic.. but a tad on the cold side. Not sure if it has maybe waited on the kitchen counter for one too many minutes though the service wasn t the fastest either. Maybe 1 waiter shorts as I think they were only 2. Restaurant itself was well designed and charming but room temperature a little on the cold side as my finger tips and toes felt it all night so wasn t necessarily the most comfortable dinner I ve had. That being said the tuna carpaccio was fantastic and so was the beef tartare. Overall B+ for me
We were super excited for this resto to open. Everything was good. The food was tasty but didn t blow my mind. The decor of the restaurant was very nice. We went at 8pm and at 9pm the place got super loud and packed. It was more of a super club feel. We finished our food quickly and left because it wasn t the scene we were looking for.
Amazing food, kind staff and great atmosphere. Happy to have something like this in PCV
My husband and I really enjoyed our dining experience at Lou s in Pointe-Claire. The service was excellent and the lighting decor is warm very nice atmosphere. A little on the chilly side due to the door opening right into the dining area. The beef tartare was nice, as was our pasta dish and striploin. The ONE thing this restaurant really needs to improve is dessert. Most diners expect more than one option, and if there s only one option, it s needs to be incredible. We had a basic chocolate cake (with sprinkles!), which fell flat for us. If that improves, it would be 5 stars for us.
Delicious food. Super friendly service. Very accommodating for dietary restrictions (gluten free).
This was my second time dining at Lous and I think it has great potential but definitely needs to iron out some details. The food and drinks are delicious but the service leaves a lot to be desired and the atmosphere is a bit hit or miss. The service is not great - it took over 20 minutes for someone to even ask for a drink order, and much more time after that to order food, then quite a while to receive drinks/food. Dirty dishes/empty drinks sat on the table for a long time as well. We definitely left feeling underwhelmed and not cared for. The music can be a bit too loud past a certain time, and they dont have a great place to put people who are waiting for tables - both times I was there our table became surrounded by people waiting for tables and its hard to have an enjoyable or relaxing time when there are many people hovering around/hitting your table. They seem to be putting people to wait beside the bar, which is also the route to the kitchen so it all becomes very chaotic if you are seated at a table near there.
Everything was incredible. So impressed with the operations even in their first week being open! The signature martini is unbelievable, 10/10 for olive haters like me.
Great food, great drinks, great vibe, all around a great time
Amazing food and cocktails!
Amazing Food and Atmosphere! Service was excellent! Food
Flew from Vancouver and went to this place one of the days I visited. Loved it and highly recommend. Friendly people and great food.
Highly recommend this restaurant, this is exactly what the West Island has been missing. Food is phenomenal and the staff are amazing, can t wait to come back!
Great cocktails, food and service! Really loved the steak and Lou s oldie! Will be coming back soon.
Perfect addition to the village! Fantastic food, crazy cool drinks, amazing vibe and super friendly staff. Definitely recommend a dinner out at Lou s.
Beautifully designed restaurant with delicious food, lovely cocktails and friendly staff. The restaurant was able to accommodate and serve a large group of us flawlessly, even though they d only recently opened. A much needed addition to the village. And don t leave without getting an espresso martini!
Great addition to the West Island! Great bar menu, we had the beef tartare and the crab cake and they were incredible. Burger must be the best I have had in a while and side of fries was generous. Food was served at a really nice pace. Only feedback would be for the lights to be a bit more dim for added ambiance, playlist and service was great. You feel like you are at a downtown restaurant in the suburbs.
We have wanted to try Lous out since they opened several months ago but were never able to snag a reservation (probably because we tried to late...obviously) but lady luck finally called in the new year and we got a table (bar only) at the beginning of January 2024. Although there are a number of restaurants in the Pointe Claire Village, Lous has created both an elegant yet casual ambiance with a mixed Italian/American-style cuisine. After sitting us at the bar and placing our order, a table cleared and we asked to move to it which they happily agreed to...thats appreciated as many restaurants dont want to hassle with moving patrons to new tables. The menu is not extensive but I would say that all types of eaters can find at least one thing on the menu to enjoy. For our meal, we started with the Parker Rolls (good...but the portion was a bit on the small side) and Crab Cake (very good, excellent sauce but a bit on the pricey side for a single cake)...for our main we had the Pasta Genovese (excellent), Eggplant Parmigiana (it seems they fried the eggplant slices to be crispy before being baked...was excellent...highly recommend it) and a side of Creamed Greens (sounds weird, I know, but was actually quite good). When moving from the bar to the table there was an issue with timing of the main meal being delivered. Due to the delay, the manager complimented us with a tasty Strawberry Cookie dessert and a glass of Amara. Both of which were greatly appreciated and enjoyed as well. Service was very good and attentive and we never felt wanting. Although note that there is (currently) a draft due to a faulty door at the back that affects the left side of the restaurant (as you enter). It wasnt terrible but it was noticeable...just ask to sit on the right side if you can. The restaurant is very busy so reservations are highly recommended...at least several days in advance. Enjoy!
Yummy classic dishes, with great service, and cool vibes. Perfect neighborhood spot.
Holy cow, those creamed greens!
We celebrated my wife s birthday last night at Lou s and it was amazing. Katia gave us a warm welcome as we came through the front door and was our awesome waitress all night. Some highlights were the steak tartare, Cavatelli, mac n cheese, the bite of the burger I stole from my sister in law and the delicious effervescent red wine from Hungary that Katia recommended. I think Lou s is a great addition to the West Island and will be back for sure. Ps my brother in law has lots of allergy issues and they paid such good attention to the details to keep him feeling safe. Dietary restrictions: One of our group has lots of allergies and they paid close attention.
Fantastic menu with a really kind and accommodating staff. Guaranteed a great time :)!
New place in pointe claire village. Ambience was nice. Greeted warmly by staff. Food good. Started w appetizers tuna carpaccio, parker rolls and crab cakes. Finished w main of sea bass which was amazing. Will def go back !
GUYS! This restaurant is the exact spot I was looking for to have my birthday dinner with friends. I will be a regular 100% and cant wait to go back again. The food was top tier, so tasty with a feeling of comfort with every bite. Jono and the whole staff was so attentive and handled alot of the food restrictions with our group, which I know is not always easy. Lenny made me feel seen and at home. Everything you need when you rarely get a night out. Highlights for me were the oysters, the dip (like elevated onion dip but gave me 90s nostalgia feels) and I am still thinking about those parker rolls. The dirty cocktail was 10/10 We finally have a good spot to eat quality food with quality service in the village can I get an AMEN. Anyways, EAT HERE.
This is an absolute gem in Pointe Claire Village. Just what the West Island needed! The vibe and the food, the drinks and the decor, the service, everything was on point. I look forward to going back!
Great atmosphere, amazing drinks delicious food! All around great experience
Amazing dining experience! Tried nearly the entire menue and everything was incredible I couldn t recommend it more! Will definitely be back here! 10/10!
We tried a bunch of different things from the menu and everything was delicious! We ll be back!
Our evening at Lou s was perfect. We tried several items on the menu and everything was very good and tasty. Don t miss the Mac and cheese and the perfectly cooked entrecôte. An ideal place for a meeting with friends in the Village of Pointe-Claire!
I had the pleasure of checking Lou s out on Saturday and I have to say, it s a great new addition to the village! From awesome decor to the inviting atmosphere, delicious food and a strong drink menu, Lou s makes you feel like you re in a nice upscale downtown martini bar but in the comfort of the West Island. To drink I got the spicy margarita that had great smokey notes with a bit of a kick, the lavender espresso martini which came with a homemade lavender shortbread cookie and the Lou s gin martini which had a nice salty taste. My favourite was definitely the gin martini! Food wise I had the crab cake, tried the onion dip and finished with the pasta genovese. They were all very good, but the pasta was my highlight of the night. I wouldn t have minded a bit more sauce on it but the braised beef melts in your mouth! Pete and Max, definitely know what they re doing and I know that Lou s is going to do really well in the area! I look forward to going back and 100% recommend checking it out!
Unreal food and cocktails. Highly recommend
Amazing drinks and amazing atmosphere! Can t wait to see what this place flourishes into!
This place. The food. The staff. Amazingggg! I recommend. Please do yourself a favor & try the burger. Food : 5/5
Lou s is a must, Lou s is an instant classic. Go often or for special occasions. But go often. The West Island was missing Lou s and now it has it.
What a gem of a find! They just opened and I somehow stumbled upon this great spot in the heart of the village! The decor sets the mood, the food is fantastic and their signature cocktails are to die for. Be sure to ask the owner to crack his cool pepper shaker for you!
Lou s is everything the West Island has been needing! Incredible food, phenomenal service, and a vibe that would make you think you ve made the drive into the city. Do yourself a favour and get a reservation ASAP! Food : 5/5
Yesterday was my first time at Lou s and honestly it is THE new place to go! The staff was really friendly as soon as we passed the front door, service was super fast, the food OMG what a nice menu with a variety of all my favourite meal! I 200% recommend for a date, a quick dinner or even for a big birthday event 10/10 Parking: Easy parking to find near the place
Exactly what the West Island needed! Great food, fantastic ambiance, excellent service, and an inexplicably large pepper grinder for a touch of whimsy. Highly recommend.
Thrilled about the new addition to the village! Fantastic atmosphere, impeccable service, and a distinctive menu that truly impresses. Excited to become regulars at Lous!
Great new resto! Food is delicious. Service is attentive and warm, and the vibe is killer! Will be back Food : 5/5 |
A few things to work on about this restaurant but it has a lot of potential. The first this id like to mention is the atmosphere and decor is really nice, however they have an issue with temperature in the restaurant as a few of us felt very cold throughout the dinner and kept our winter jackets on while eating. (They did feel bad and gave us a discount due to this.) In terms of food, we started with 2 crab cakes, a fluke carpacccio and a beef tartare. Everything was extremely salty and they returned it, when it came back it still was salty but not as bad. In terms of the mains they were out of the pasta, 18oz ribeye and Mac and cheese so be sure to come in during the first service if that s what you want. We got the burger, sea bass and the striploin. The burger was also salty and very oily. The striploin was once again very salty, and herb butter wasn t even torched to melt over the steak. Also I don t like that they sliced my steak for me, it shows low confidence and experience cooking steaks.
Lou s is the place you go to if you want to leave with your belly full and your head feeling pleasantly fuzzy. The burger taste like you re trying a burger for the first again.
Amazing food and service. Dont sleep on the Parker Rolls!
Absolute gem of an addition to the West Island
Service and ambiance were both refined and welcoming. Everything on the menu sounded so good. Nice to find a restaurant that focuses on great food without being pretentious. The burger was insane and the chicken was tender and delicious. Can t wait to try out the rest of the food.
A really lovely new place, very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed my cocktail, the onion dip with waffle chips, striploin, and strawberry shortcake.
Beautiful place and great ambiance. The side salade was very well balanced and pasta was good. Food
I won t be going back. Was incredibly excited for it to open up, as I live in the area. Went tonight with a friend and we were completely rushed out the door. I wasn t even close to finishing my drink when the waitress came over to let us know we d need to leave our table for future reservations. There was no one even waiting at the door. As we paid our bill, she reminded us again we d need to vacate our table for future resos, despite the fact we were sitting next to an empty table. As we walked out there was still no one at the door. Great food and nice decor but terrible service that makes you feel unwelcome. Too bad as the village needed a new spot - I won t be going back there again with that horrible service.
