Casual restaurant serving up traditional & creative sushi rolls in vintage-style surrounds.
Came here on a Saturday night. The location was easy to find and there was street parking. The menu was big with lots of options. We got the option to share for two with some extras. The first hint that sushi isn't fresh is when the fish tastes fishy. It's a huge turn-off and a few plates tastes fishy. The service, however, was really good, as well as the atmosphere. I don't think I would consider coming back. The food was a letdown.
It was an absolute perfect experience. Our server helped us to live the experience. Every bite was an explosion of joy in our mouth. I trust this restaurant 100%! They surely know how to take care of their customers. Thank you
Everything about this restaurant is amazing! The lighting, music, sound (look up they have installed sound boards so you can hear what the person in front of you is saying!) the wood tables and service! And of course the food is delicious!! Unique sushi you will not find anywhere else!! The waitress was very friendly and knowledgable, and did not let us order more than we needed!! 10 out of 5 stars!
Avocado Sushi Village is a delicious cozy little restaurant. You can find most of your staple rolls, but the real treat is their signature rolls, the Cynthia stands out amongst our entire meal. The menu offered a lot of variety with several vegetarian options. This place is a gem in the Point Claire village!
My friends and I had a fantastic experience. Food was delicious and service was phenomenal. Will definitely be going back!
This is by far the freshest, tastiest, most intriguing sushi i’ve ever had. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and even recommended I remove some of my orders due to it being too much. By being honest, she gained a loyal customer for life. 10/10 absolutely spectacular, nothing else to say about this place.
Wow! Never had sushi this tasty! The house specials are excellent & worth a try! The one with raspberry was my favorite 🤌🏻 The cocktails were also really good! The atmosphere was warm and cozy, and the service was great. Will definitely return 👌🏼 P.S. My apologies for the poor photo quality 😆
Wonderful sushi in the West Island. Cozy restaurant in the Pointe-Claire village with a small patio. Always great, prompt service. Cute spot for a date night! The lobster roll and green tea ice cream are my personal faves.
Every detail was on point. Atmosphere/decor, food, drinks, wait staff... perfection!
When entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a strange odor. Despite ordering different maki rolls, tartar and rice paper rolls, it all tasted the same and bland. Finally, the sushi rice was mushy and overcooked.
Cute and warm place, very good service, dishes well presented and fresh tasty we will come back
This sushi restaurant left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, it wasnt the first time we visited this place with my wife, and the first time was as special as this one our anniversary. Thats why we decided to book a table in advance, two weeks prior, choosing a special spot by the window. Unfortunately, due to a car accident on the road, we were 15 minutes late, which we reported to the restaurant by phone. Upon arrival, it turned out that our table was already taken. Of course, we were very upset, but decided not to spoil our evening and sat at another table. The service, as always, was excellent the waiter, a young man with dark hair and excellent English, was very attentive. Alas, there were questions about the food. It seemed that there was a disproportionate amount of rice in the rolls. However, the tartare was simply divine, a huge thank you to the chef! But the most unpleasant thing was waiting for us ahead. Half an hour later, the table by the window that we had booked became free. We politely asked to be transferred, explaining the situation, but were refused. For over an hour before we left, this table remained empty, although we emphasized three times the importance of this place for us on this special day. Again, we were sitting at the next table on our anniversary, looking at the empty table that had been reserved for us. I consider this attitude of the staff to be unacceptable. Despite all the advantages of this restaurant, pleasant memories and good service, because of this attitude, I intend to forget the way to this restaurant. Delicious first visit to Avocado. My suggestion would be to tell your server the ingredients you like, and then turn them loose on choices. If you like the ingredients, be sure to try The Cynthia.
A very interesting and charming sushi restaurant, set up in a little house, with good ambiance and excellent service. Presentation and taste was very good; the only thing is that aficionados of traditional may find fewer options than they are used to in the menu, which has more creative, non-traditional items. However there are still offerings of traditional rolls, as well as some nigiri and sashimi. Pricing is typical for sushi.
Always fresh and local ingredients make this sushi restaurant and absolute gem!
cutest and only sushi spot in pointe-claire village. Service and food was amazingggg
Very good sushi.
ive never been but google said I did so Im leaving a review
Weve eaten here three times and each time has been stellar. Everything is well prepared, well plated and delicious.
Intimate. And the best sushi! Reserve! Food : 5/5
wow ! I am surprised by the quality of the sushi, incredible! Scallop ceviche yum ! The sushi is excellent! The atmosphere is pleasant. The restaurant is cozy I didn t expect that! Impeccable service! Good job !
Amazing food, really fantastic sushi! Make sure you have a reservation because its a small place and you might not get in
Cute little place serving amazing fresh sushi and tartare. Will be back
Charming little spot in PC Village. Very cozy! Sushi was okay.
Excellent specialty plates. We loved the sake . Quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
Nice little place!! Warm atmosphere excellent food
Took my son there. He only likes the salmon and building his roll, so Sylvie did a fantastic job to accommodate him. He loved. This is a little hidden jem in the village. It is our go-to place for sushi. Staff is great. Thank you, Jasmin.
No better sushi place!!
So delicious, very fresh and amazing service.
Absolutely love this spot! Deliciously fresh sushi and super friendly staff. Highly recommend for a night out in the village.
Excellent sushi, efficient service in a pleasant rustic environment. The owner is always about making sure all is perfect. The wine selection was also unique. Excellent for thew price.
Nice and cozy, attention to detail, delicious interpretation of fusion sushi that works.
Pricy but the food is very good. Good courteous service. Will have to try again and check out their wine selection
There arent really many sushi places in west island and I have tried so so many sushi and japanese restaurant in and around Montreal and Avocado sushi definitely fits in top choices. If you are looking only for a good sushi place and dont mind to pay a bit more for the quality and you dont feel like driving tp downtown, then Avocado is really the best in West Island. The chef/owner really knows what is a good sushi. A good sushi has to be about the freshness and the right consistency of the rice as well as the size. She nails it. She is passionate about sushi as I do . The sushi is fresh and I love that they dont use mirin in the rice. My most favorite is the avocado bowl but the makis and sushi are all good. You cant go wrong. Also it s better to reserve in advanced as the place is small.
The sushi was good but we got the table d hote menu (32 pieces) and I was a bit disappointed as I thought it might be more interesting pieces. Good price-quality ratio and good service, they make an effort.
Delicious food and really nice atmosphere!
The lobster and scallop tartar is my absolute favourite dish! Must try.
Avocado tartare? A dream
Avocado Sushi is an absolute dining delight. I had dinner there a few times and it was always delicious, beautiful presentation and Jasmine you are the best . This will always be my fine dining go to place in the heart of Pointe-Claire!
We used to order from Avocado 2-3 times a month. It was definitely the best sushi on the West Island and was so accommodating to gluten free dietary needs. Not long ago, their usual rolls started to contain gluten due to a supplier issue with a preservative, which I don t blame them for but was disappointed about. We tried to order from them with the minimal amount of gluten free rolls they now have and I was shocked by the strong fishy taste of the sushi! It never tasted like this. I would have rated them at least 5 stars but now I just can t. They have gone down in quality and allergy accommodation. It s really too bad.
The best sushi.
Excellent.
Amazing food and great service! The combinations are great... Not my last time, definitely!
AMAZING! I cannot rave enough about how delicious everything was. From the tartar to the rolls! Every dish was a piece of art and just sooo good!
Very delicious Sushi, the bare naked sushi are simply amazing, attention to details, delicious food and top quality!!!
So expensive for the food we ate. I will not try it again!
Charming restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. Great staff. Great Sushi.
The best sushi restaurant on the West Island, and definitely one of the top places in Montreal. Cozy ambiance. Great service. Great sushi and salmon tartare
The food here is really good. From the sushi to the tartares everything tastes great. Service here is good as well. Only knock would be its a little pricey for what you get
Delicious! Good service.
Favorite sushi place. Book in advance, its tiny but full of love and a taste of heaven
Very cute little sushi place , good service and sushi was delicious .
My go to sushi in the West Island. We particularly love the Avocado bowl!
Delicious, a great variety not seen anywhere else, always so fresh. The owner and the staff always welcoming . I highly recommend this sushi place Dietary restrictions: They will prepare the food according to your taste. i.e. no cucumber or other ingredients
They make delicious sushi rolls and the restaurant atmosphere is very quaint. I would highly recommend !
Wow, every bite was a delight, you can feel all the work and love in each dish presented. Small, charming and welcoming place, I recommend it 100%. Thanks to Sylvie and her team we will definitely be back soon
Amazing little spot in the pointe Claire village. My daughter recommended it and it was just fantastic. Sushi is very fresh, and they have some indicative and creative rolls not seen on other sushi menus around town. Lots of use of fruits too. One roll with kiwis, another with raspberries. We tried about 9 different rolls this time, along with some nigiri. All were delicious and I would definitely order again. We are not drinkers but there is a wine and cocktail menu. We went with a nice hot pot of green tea which went well with the meal. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely not downtown sushi prices. We ate there while the pastry chef was on vacation, so desserts were limited, but we did share a chocolate pecan brownie with ice cream. Very good as well. Service was perfect all evening. The waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Loved the food
Very expensive, food is made with basic cheap ingredients (crab imitation, frozen shrimps) not tasty. Service not attentive. They charge $1.00 for chocolate sauce over ice cream.
Avocado Sushi is our absolute favorite sushi spot! The cozy atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The freshness and high quality of their sushi are unparalleled, and the friendly staff always makes us feel right at home. Our go-to dish, the Avocado Tartare, is a true masterpiece. We cant recommend this place enough for sushi lovers its a must-visit!
Beautiful Sushi place in the Pointe Claire Village/West Island. Cozy atmosphere, would recommend to reserve in advance. The ingredients are fresh and they have some house specials. I would highly recommend the New Zealander (slightly sweet). The service is awesome and they make you feel welcome :)
Go to sushi in the west island. Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Sushi is always delicious. Everything is always so fresh. Great acoustics.
The very best in the west! Exceptional team and the tastiest creative sushi!
Cynthia and Maki Saint Laurent are my favs
I really liked the atmosphere, a small local restaurant; very friendly service and the eating too delicious.
The food is delicious, the drinks are fantastic and the atmosphere is pleasant. This is a perfect place to share a good meal.
Went a few days ago. I had been seated at the bar where I got a nice view of peoples meals being prepared, and if I had any questions about the food, I was able to ask a chef directly. It is a bit expensive, however the experience is worth it, in my opinion, and you have a lot of options as well. For example, you can pick if you want your fish as sashimi or nigiri, and there is also a more fancy menu, which includes scallops and caviar, and theres a menu for those who like the more traditional flavors of sushi one might be more accustomed to. For either menu, the plates of food are nicely presented and nicely garnished. The waiters and waitresses, including chefs, are super accommodating and patient. I say patient since it took me a while to decide what I wanted exactly, but I was never pressured to quickly order food. Youll certainly want to eat a lot if you have a big appetite, so I would also recommend getting the miso soup. Cocktails are good too, and I thought it was cute that they give you a chocolate at the end of your dining experience. I will certainly return again in the near future.
Very cool Sushi place. This is not a eat all you can Sushi place but instead is a quality sushi restaurant serving AMAZING quality sushi with great wine pairings (refer to the black board for seasonal specials). The seaweed salad is amazing and the sushi role with coriander topping is out of this world! Reserve ahead, this gem in the Pointe-claire village fills up quickly.
Ordered a nice amount of sushi for our wedding anniversary (180$) and the presentation was very nice. The food overall was mediocre and for some reason the soya sauce provided was not good which as result ruined the meal. We even shared with a friend and he had the same feedback.
Absolutely Amazing Sushi !!!
Amazing authentic sushi bar, great choice of sushis and wine, pleasant service and all this in the beautiful Pointe-Claire village
Was really delicious. One of my fave sushi restaurants.
Great food! Great service! Loved it
Always fresh Consistency Clean Nice Staff
Wonderful, calm atmosphere with the perfect background ambiance. Out of this world sushi! Fantastic service as well.
Sushi at Avocado Sushi du Village was delicious, a wonderful cozy restaurant in Pt-Claire with delightful staff. Love this place !
Best sushi ever! Such a warm and welcoming staff. Food
The best sushi in town! Impeccable service and magnificent sake/wine selection! To try and try again
AMAZING food (especially the tartares) Lovely owner! Super cozy restaurant, which serves great sushi, what could be better? Thank you, and see you soon!
Fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic vibe and not bad for your wallet
The presentation is really nice, but I found the sushi was a little too salty. Like Tomas Tatar, the tartar was inconsistent. I will go back eventually though, I feel like it could have just been an off-night for them
A west island gem, amazing selection, great wine list and friendly staff.
What a great sushi place. Warm and very welcoming, and the sushi was out of this world. Very unique creations. Thank you for the lovely date night
Cozy little spot for delicious sushi. Their selection is broad, from simple and delicious hosomaki to funky options incorporating fruit or special sauces. The Tessy roll, with scallops and raspberries, is a delightful option. Good cocktails and the service is friendly and tasteful. Great place for a date!
Avocado Sushi du Village is by far one of the best kept secrets in Montreal! This quaint and beautifully accommodating restaurant and professional staff in the Pointe-Claire Village gives new meaning to memorable dining. Delectable and creative dishes will entice repeat customers. Bravo to the team!
Avocado Sushi is a sushi experience not to be missed! An absolute dining delight. I had dinner there a few times with friends and it was always delicious, beautiful presentation and Sylvie, a wonderful sushi chef puts her heart and soul in her creations. This will always be my fine dining go to place in the heart of Pointe-Claire!
Great ambience, great food, would definitely recommend to anyone who likes sushi and a great atmosphere!
Here you will be welcomed like kings and will be treated to beautiful creations that are as appetizing for the eyes as they are for the mouth. For a great quality sushi outing in an enchanting place look no further!
Excellent sushi restaurant, cozy. Excellent service. Fresh ingredients and fancy presentation. Kindly recommended!
Some of the best sushi in the West Island! Definitely reserve before going because it is on the smaller side. Very cute restaurant, great ambiance and delicious food
Always a delight
Thank you again I am Japanese. I LOVE their sushi very much. Even in this pandemic they pack Sushi beautifully please take a look at my pictures that I took I love the presentation, too. It is very pretty. Their sushi is surprisingly taste awesome with blueberries!! Bon appetit
Nothing bad to say.... Theres just much better sushi to be had in the West Island
Gave Avocado Sushi a second try. Unfortunately still the same. Overpriced. Overrate. Better, higher quality options available in the West Island. Really disappointed with poor presentation, the second time. Unevenly sliced sushi - amateurish.
Ordered the platter for two. It came with 30 pieces, two miso soups and two salads for $56. Miso soup was decent, salad had one garnish : sesame seeds. The maki was loaded with rice and not much else. The difference between the rolls was barely noticeable because there was so little in each and were so thin I d be surprised if they made up half the roll. Fish was tasteless and the shrimp was pale and rubbery. My mom ordered it for my birthday and kept apologizing because of how disappointing the whole meal was
Best Sushi restaurant in town. Amazing service. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely our new go to place.
Very cozy place and very good sushi
Service was excellent and the food was fantastic! Nestled in the village...very nice atmosphere!
Super nice owner :) Havent had the chance to taste yet but Ill definitely come back (uber)
Great food and staff and ownership.
The sushi is creative and delicious here. I always enjoy. This is where I discovered my love of sushi with fruit in it.
Amazing sushi! One of the best around the west island. Their fish is always so fresh and their rolls are very creative and delicious. Cute little place; one of my favourites for a date night. Always great service & great cocktails too. Not so traditional but oh so good!
Creative and delicious
Best sushi in the west island * Hands Down
Omg the host is the best.Food is high quality and well prepared.Stools at bar are not so comfortable.sotting at tables is better.all in all Very good.make reservations
The tartares are great and really nice salad and miso soup with the table dhote. Better Maki elsewhere.
Perfect
Great
Avocado is always delicious and quality is always there
wow!!! very beautiful place!
A beautiful little place! The decor is superb, as is the food. A little noisy when its full, but the food, location and atmosphere makes it a wonderful experience. A big congratulations also for the Oceanwise choices. Not to be missed if you pass by!
The best Sushi in the west island. Very cute, cozy atmosphere. Great staff. My favorite place to come for an intimate meal and great sushi! The only downfall, is one busy evenings, it can get a little loud. But doesnt take away from the experience as a whole!
The sushi was delicious and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The vast menu is a great upside.
Ugh.... It was much better when the sushi designer did that at Willows in Hudson! There, in Pointe-Claire....no, really not! Its not a must-have. Dry sushi and average service. Packed like sardines on uncomfortable chairs... Not impressed.
Very disappointed after reading the reviews, I was excited to try this place. Food Taste good but they completely messed up orders with multiple parties. Get it together and let us know when we can try it again. Thanks for the refund
Love the sushi here!
Complex harmonization of seasonal taste. Most creative fusion of Quebec and Japanese palette in a sushi format. Welcoming and helpful staff. A must try for West island restaurants.
best sushi in west-island
Great and fast service but a very pricey! I paied 35$ for a platter of 16 sushis. But it was fresh and tasty.
The best sushi ever! Really great service (take-out too). Without a doubt the best sushi place on the west island, and one of the best in the city.
Delicious and fresh ingredients.
Best sushi hands down in the west. Plus Sylvie is quite a darling to speak too. Would recommend 12/10
On the pricier side and not impressed by the quality
Makis too complicated, not neat enough. The price is above the overall service.
Amazing food & service! Very lovely place. Will definitely go back!
We went for lunch. Place is nice and cozy (although they should replace the ceiling tiles damaged by water infiltration). Staff is nice and welcoming. We ordered and an avocado bowl ($22) and a 12-piece meal ($20). The salad as an appetizer is fantastic. The leaves were crisp and the dressing was very tasty. The avocado bowl: The rice was too wet (mushi texture) and the mayo overshadows the fish and other ingredients. The presentation was nice. The 12-piece meal: Got one maki roll with a shrimp tail as the only piece of fish (there was absolutely no meat in the tail left). Most maki pieces were made of cut pieces of salmon with a lot of mayo. Overall, all pieces tasted the same. Doing a blind test, I would have not been able to differentiate the various types of rolls I was eating. Overall, the food was just ok for the price. I would have like to either have more food or better food for the price. It s a nice place to bring your loved one in the west island but not a place if you re looking to enjoy really good sushi. Basically, it misses the mark for people looking for a lot of food for the price and misses the mark for people looking for good nigiris and makis.
One of My favorite restaurant
Really very good sushi I love the warm atmosphere the employees are so endearing the place to eat in the village of Pointe-Claire and their Martini are a must
Very nice atmosphere and great sushi
Best sushi in the west!
First time customer, ordered 8 specialty rolls for takeout however wasnt very impressed with the taste or quality. For west Island sushi place to go I recommend Maiko by far.
This place was recommended to me by 2 people that I trust so I was looking forward to it. The place is small and the tables are crammed ( reserving is a good idea ). Maybe it was an off night but the food lacked flavour and texture, two things that are paramount to an excellent sushi experience. Try it for yourself and you be the judge because the place was packed. We left disappointed with no desire to return knowing that there are better, more consistent options out there.
Delicious sushi! Great choice of food, wine and cocktails. And Martini Thursday was a nice surprise. The price is worth the quality.
Delicious food and exceptional service
Always excellent
Always walk out with a full tummy and smile on my face. One of Pointe-Claires hidden gems!
I ll start by saying I wasn t expecting much based on my experience with West Island restaurants. I was presently surprised though excellent variety of rolls and superbly fresh fish. In particular the signature scallop tartare was awesome. Definitely a place I ll be going back to; long list of tasty looking menu items to try!
Exceptional food, warm atmosphere and service! I highly recommend!!!
Really nice staff and great sushi.
The sushi was amazing
Good food
I went there 2 times. I would rate the first time 5 stars service as the owner was there. The second time unfortunately the owner was not there the service was like fast food restaurants,( annoying fake smiles waitresses that make you feel uncomfortable) But food is perfect in both times
Delicious Good
The quality of sushi and the service is unbeatable! Great small-town atmosphere and cozy seating arrangements!
Extremely satisfied...OMG... This is the best sushi place on earth... The food is great... Presentation is marvellous... Great customer service... Extremely neat place with a beautiful rustic look and feel... Very cozy... If you happen to be on the Westisland, definitely make it a point to visit Avocado and you will not regret it...
What a lovely sushi restaurant in the heart of Pointe Claire. This is a must for all Sushi lovers. The fish is fresh, presentation Exceptional and staff efficient and helpful. Its the place to go for great.Sushi.
What a fantastic find. Unique specials. Great service. Very sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The service was just as comforting as the ambiance. We all felt immediately at home and welcome. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, very attentive without hovering. Cant wait to visit again!
Best sushi Ive ever had.
Have just ordered a takeout, but staff was attentive and efficient. The place was packed with customers.
Excellent small and quaint independent sushi restaurant nestled in the heart of picturesque Pointe-Claire village. Expect it to be packed try to make reservations if you can. All the sushi is very fresh and tasty. Tried the wakame salad with octopus and squid, a lobster and a Pointe-Claire roll, arctic char and grilled eel nigiri and all were very fresh and delicious. Pretty good wines too with private imports and a variety of wines that change written on a blackboard on the wall well worth trying. Sat at the small bar and was there at closing time and was impressed by how thorough they were cleaning and found out owner was making sushi and cleaning with the crew. Definitely worth a try hidden gem in the west island of Montreal.
Smash a sushi shop and a quiet coffee shop together and you get this place. A very non-Japanese looking sushi restaurant with refined seating and ambiance. The menu is not huge, but your meal is sure to satisfy as the taste of the items is spot on. Even the salad tasted awesome. The restaurant is small and fills in quickly, so best to make reservations. Street parking only.
Delicious and fresh but also a bit pricey.
Great . Service was lovely.
We enjoyed a delicious dining experience, with your yummy sushi dishes and a delightful evening on your patio. The Cynthia roll was amazing!
Best suchi ever
Superb sushi and very efficient sevice
This was a take out order so I cant comment on the ambiance of the dining room. We had the chefs special for sushi. Unfortunately, not much originality on the plate and in the flavors. Very disappointing for the price...
Not the best experience. There was a dog hair in my salmon tartare.
What can I say except make sure this restaurant in TOP on your sushi list. Warm cozy ambiance, beautiful plates, veggie tartare is the ultimate! The staff goes out of their way to help you choose and make you feel like youre a very welcome guest. Place is spotless. Wine selection is superbe. It should be a hidden gem but its too good to hide :-) Highly recommended.
Great ambiance, friendly staff and food to die for!
Got into the place at 2h43pm ...was told we couldnt be served. Rude Ladycooks making facial signs to her waitress to not accept us . Unfortunately for your business me and my GF are big fans of sushi and wont be coming back.
Best sushi I had on my life!
Ive dined here nearly a dozen times. Ive always been very satisfied with the food but my most recent visit I was left feeling theyve lost their edge. Food took too long to bring, portion of one of my favorites sushi rolls wasnt what it used to be and there was no ginger on my plate. I fear this once suburban gem is getting complacent but hope the next visit reignites my desire to continue going..
Good taste
Tried to make a reservation for 8 people and they insist that We do a pre set menu. I asked that we each order a la carte whatever we would like off the menu and they refused. I think this is absolutely ridiculous.. I understand if it was a large group of 15 people or more... but 8 ppl ... im sorry not acceptable.
best sushi in mtl hands down
Great selection of sushi on the chefs choice for two. They also have their own creations, which also look very interesting. We found the desserts pricy, and the carrot cake was a bit dry.
Excellent food and special deco. Will come back again !
Disappointing, no air circulation in the restaurant, service was junior, fish quantity in sushi was generous but too much mayo and rolls werent cut evenly.
Horrible service Smelt like dirty mop Rolls looked like they were cut with a butter knife Everything we ordered had way too much Mayo And had zero texture
