1864C Sources Blvd, Pointe-Claire, Quebec H9R 5B1, Canada
Laid-back Japanese eatery offering traditional dishes, a range of sushi & sashimi, plus "bring your own wine" option.
Food was good, but it just feels like I am eating in someone's decorated garage. I will definitely do take out from here, over and over again.
Me and my husband didn't have a fun experience at this restaurant. The water has so many bugs stuck on the ice, I was about to drink and noticed few bugs floating! So right there you lose your appetite. We also waited for our food for a very long time and the place wasn't even busy. They also brought the plate one by one with like more than 30 mins apart. Lastly, they gave us our Dragon eye sushi order which is burnt! Horrible!
Wow. Better than expected. -Miso soup -TEMPURA Deep fried shrimps and veggies (perfectly crispy) -IKA CHUKA marinated seaweed salad with squid and octopus topped with sweet and sour dressing (delicious….) -ALL SORTS OF NIGIRIS (fish on top of rice) salmon, tuna, sweet shrimp, octopus, squid, grilled eel) ***gotta try the Eel especially! -some different specialty sushi rolls My husband and I were taking our sweet time to eat every little pieces. Very happy with our waiter, and service. Quiet little place to have a nice quality time with your loved ones. Definitely will go back again!
I recently had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant Sushi. The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, decorated with modern and stylish décor. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was outstanding. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. Overall, my experience at Sushi was delightful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great sushi spot.
Service was very friendly. Good selection. Restaurant very clean. Best sushi I ever had. I have tried many of their platters & was never disappointed.
One of the best sushi places I've been to in a while! They are a bring your own wine or beer. Its super great! The staff were super friendly, and kind. We both had the chefw choice and he choose SO WELL. The sushi was very fresh and the unique peices tasted great too. The wonton soup was very flavorful and wonderfuly warm.
Without a doubt my go-to sushi spot for lunch! Love a place where the owner is part of the team & is hands-on in the process. 15$ chef's combo with soup & salad - Sushi Shop prices for à-la-carte quality.
Went for lunch special, reasonable price with really fresh sashimi with nice varieties and creative sushi! Possibly the best sushi place in West Island! Highly recommended! I tried their tiramisu dessert as well, so good!!
Excellent sushi meal! We were also surprised by the quality of their coffee and desserts Its rare that Asian restaurants offer a very good choice. Vegetarian options: A few meals can turn There are options too Parking: In a shopping center Wheelchair accessibility: Easy
Nothing special, the sushis were really not that good, spent close to $150 for 2 person.
Lunch menu is somewhat light on types of fish actually available.
The food is excellent, an extraordinary diversity. The staff (waiters and cooks) are efficient and helpful, they always have a smile on their faces. The presentation of the dishes is refined and the atmosphere of the place is warm. To test! 10/10!
Cozy sushi restaurant , bring your own wine and enjoy some fresh sushi.
The decor could use some TLC, but the food and service is great!
One of the west islands hidden gems!
The food is delicious and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely come back!
1st time I order the 3 person sushi menu to take away. The sushi looks good but in reality the Sushi is bland, tasteless and unfavorable.
Simply THE BEST and most pleasant people. Looking for an authentic Japanese Sushi experience than here IT is. Totally amazing, totally like Hong Kong 5 star quality and service. Sushi bar or sit down bring your wine. It s near the Airport and only 17-20 minutes from downtown Montreal. Relaxed atmosphere. Free parking. Katoreya is not only authentic but provides best Value and great selection and daily fish preparation styles equal to my Tokyo and Hong Kong dining experience. Great Job chef and Katoreya Team. Doc Joseph
Excellent experience
Excellent sushi. Bring your wine.
I came here with my young daughter for dinner just the two of us. The food was good but the server that took care of us did not crack even a hint on a smile. Did not ask to take our drink orders and did not fill up water glasses. I felt maybe they didn t like that I brought a child? She was very well behaved. I won t go back, it was very uncomfortable. Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly
Went for the first time yesterday and was shocked by how good everything was. Best sushi ive had in the west island. I d pick it over any other west island sushi place Will be back for sure
Great experience every time we go. Food is excellent!!
Pleasant service and the sushi was delish! Will go back again! Food
When we go out for a meal, we dont think of any other place but Katoreya. Absolutely amazing food and service.
Very good sushi!
Delivery. It didnt seem particularly fresh and was expensive when comparing to other places. That said, it was good, just not great.
Have been coming here almost from day one and have already left a few complete reviews so this is just a brief follow up: Have you tried the grilled (charred) squid appetizer? That alone is worth a visit, absolutely perfect! Enjoy.
Delicious! Unfortunately ordered far too much as everything on the menu was so enticing lol. Well know better next time. Quite expensive but we ordered too much. Miso soup in a large bowl very tasty. Will go back definitely!
The best sushi in our neighbourhood, reasonably priced, fresh, delicious and served by a very friendly and smiling staff. Hey, bring your own wine too! Highly recommended.
Super good sushi and service.
The food is really good but the service is mediocre. Staff is not friendly and the food took forever to come
This place is a little weird but the food is good. I wish they would slice their sushi in to smaller pieces as they are quite thick rolls and some are impossible to grab with chopsticks.
My wife and I were told that Katoreya served up excellent sushi. On this occasion we decided to take out the Chef s Choice Combo Sushi for 2 and not only was it excellent, it was beautifully prepared. It was the best sushi we d ever had. The service was exceptional and well definitely go back to eat in the restaurant next time. It s a gem.
First time last night. We were impressed with the excellent service from the staff. Very friendly and approachable. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Not the usual cold sushi place vibe.
We have been customers for 8 years I think. The specialty makis are tasty. A special mention to their wonton soup and, above all, their Haromaki rolls! Thanks for everything!
Consistently tasty and creative specialty rolls. An underrated Montreal sushi restaurant. BYOW too.
Waited over an hour food. Unacceptable. Shrimp were breaded heavily, not tempura. Husband ordered the chefs selection and was given no explanation as to what he was served. Food
Food was very fresh. Good food overall. Bring your own wine. Quiet.
Excellent food, would highly recommend. 1st time at this restaurant and I definitely will return, even brought some Sushi home.
Take out excellent and easy to get there by car from a hotel on the outskirts of the airport! Vegetarian options: We had some sushi with avocado and fried sweet potato it was fkn good 10/10, we asked for some sushi without shellfish, so let s go seriously it wasn t cheap vegetables are in bro
The only sushi restaurant I will go to. Fresh sushi. Delicious rolls. Great kitchen items. Skilled chefs. Very clean and spacious. The only question mark is the service which can be hit or miss. The waitress with the facial piercings is very sweet and good at her job. She really cares about the guests. The older lady who helps with takeout orders is also very nice. The male server and hostess are very rude and should not be working in hospitality although she has not been present the last few times we have gone
Its a simple place but goid atmosphere a b d very good service, we go there a lot from work, we gave always enjoyed our food.
Cozy. Not a super high ceiling so sound doesnt bounce & echo everywhere so its not noisy & we can hear each other easily. Food is excellent. Won Ton soup is really good. Sushi is very tasty, quality is excellent, many different choices & well presented. Very good tempura dishes. Excellent a la carte teriyaki dishes for those who dont likes sushi or fish. Have been dining at Katoreya many times over the last 8 years. Sometimes service slightly slow but its still okay. Very nice waiters & waitresses. Added bonus. You can bring your own wine!
Advice: make a reservation. The food was great and service was also great! Food
Best sushi
Really enjoyed our dinner experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was calm and enjoyable. The staff was so sweet and delivered such great service. The sushi was so delicious (tried the special Sushi for two with an additional roll - the Besame) really good! Plus bring your own wine!
Just canceled an order after waiting for over two hours! They said out would be another hour! 3 hours! What horrible customer service. It s such a shame because their sushi is quite good. All I would have needed was a message letting me know that my order would be over two hours late past their estimated delivery time. Horrible service.
Had the sushi but unfortunately the rice was a bit mush...Id expect it from a buffet or all you can eat but not a la carte.
Amazing sushi! Fresh, tasty and quite the variety. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff!
WORST Sushi Ive ever had!
One of the best Japanese restaurant in Montreal ! We tried lots of Japanese restaurants in Montreal, none of them satisfied us as much as Katoreya, for service, dine in takeout, food quality... We dont mind paying a little more for the above... Highly recommend !
First time for us! Impeccable service and exceptional food. Every bite is an explosion of flavor! Our new favorite sushi restaurant
Very well eaten, nice portion.
Simply awesome!
One of the best sushi on the West Island. Their sushi is fresh and quality. Their makis in general are exceptional. The prices are really fair and the service is very attentive.
Solid sushi experience. Never varies, always good. So happy to have them in the neighbourhood!
Always amazing food and service.
Great food and great service!
Great sushi at a great price
Excellent sushi made with fresh ingredients. Try the delicious Miso soup and the spectacular plate of sashimi.
Top quality, personalized service, the very kind lady on the phone, super courteous. The sushi is delicious, fresh, try the pizza I highly recommend it, a great end to the evening thanks to you thank you very much
good place for quality sushi..!!
Very disappointed. With this price I did not expect them to use artificial crab meat. Cutting skills not up to standard. Ordered a sushi combo and did not realise a roll would have yam in it. Failed in so many levels. Will not visit again and do not recommend to anyone.
My son love this sushi restaurant
Never eat sushi in my whole entire life but the minute i walked in the smell of good sushi called my name and i had to try and best of all i loved it Vegetarian options: Always
Super good
You never get what you ordered
Place looks sketchy outside, but inside is nice. One of the server was way too quiet and we couldnt really hear anything. Also she kept trying to take the plates away or make us move the food to our plate even though we told her before that were not finished with the food, which I thought was a bit annoying. The seafoods werent as fresh as expedted considering the price. The tempura wasnt that crispy either. It still is a lot better than all you can eat quality, but its definitely not worth the high price in my opinion.
Incredible sushi, beautiful ambiance, wonderful staff! Favorite sushi restaurant on the west island!
Alright. Very good. I really liked it. We have the right to a beautiful table, tablecloth, fabric napkin. The cooks and waitresses are distinguished.
Restaurant serves very good food. In fact, ive notice many pick ups and deliveries going on. Though the place is not that wide to accommodate people. We are able to dine in there.
NEVER AGAIN !! We have been constant clients for 5 years . Called in advance and told no issue to order on New Years Eve . Called to order as indicated to be told they were not taking any more orders. They left my family with no food and no alternative on New Years Eve . Shame on you ! Any other regular clients - beware of who these guys really are ! Do not ever count on them .
Excellent fresh sushi
Love the sushi
Had their chefs platter for 3. Wonderfully prepared and more than enough for 3 people. Great choices..Take out was efficient and hygienic.
Always fresh and delicious. Certainly the best sushi in the West Island
I m so disappointed with my order yesterday. I got a few of the specialty sushi and it just tasted plain. like no taste and very bland. I just threw it away....It was my go to place for sushi used to go often in the past but I don t know if they changed chefs but clearly it s not the same anymore. Waste money and food.
Great place for sushi in the West Island, always order from there!
Good sushis and reasonable pricing. Also, they always change their decorations for different festivals.
Amazing sushi and good service. Love that it is bring your own wine
excellent service, great sushi as always!
WORST Sushi Ive ever had! COLD tempera shrimps and not crispy, I definitely believe they were left overs and avocados were not eatable( they were too hard).
First time there and the sushi was really good andfresh. Food presentation was nice. Staff is super friendly, nice clean place. Definitely will go back.
Beautiful chic restaurant, well-maintained place, very healthy, charming decor, a place to discover!
Yummy
Excellent Sushil and plates
One of the best sushis of the West Island. The quality is not always consistent, but most of the time its a great experience, for a very honest price. If there is a a problem with the order, or anything, the owners are quick to answer and very honest and polite.
excellent food, and bring your own wine!!
Probably the best sushi place on the west island of Montreal. Dont even question it and just go or take out from here!
Delicious food and wonderful service. Amazing options for dinners not eating sushi. A very good place to go on a date or in a group
We take out alot.and always very satisfied with service.never any misunderstanding.excellent sushi.
The 18 pcs chef choice sushi and sashimi with a miso soup starter is DELISH! Never disappoints.
Fresh food, very tasty, nice presentation, reasonably priced and friendly service. Very recommended. We will return
Great sushi and reasonable cost. We have been there a few times and the quality is always high. This time we were there on a Wednesday and it was quiet, not like a Friday when it is crowded and noisy. You can choose between individual sushi dishes and Chinese fusion with set meals, which we have chosen before. This time we went with a choice of sushi dishes. All excellent and served quickly.
great food, vibe and staff
It was so cold that we ate with our coats on our backs.
Excellent
This place has amazingly delicious sushi,, plus THIERE fast and efficient....
Pricey....... But very good sushi and very good service. Sushy buffets are cheaper for the same or more, but still a good sit down place.
The food was good and the wait staff wore masks and visors, however the sushi chefs, who were behind plexiglass, wore only an unnecessary visor but no mask.
Ordered online for delivery. Confirmed 45 minutes. 1.5 hours later called and told would be 15 minutes. I asked what they were going to do for the delay. Was told so thats your angle totally insulted. $300+ order came 2.5 hours and was cold and not good. Will never go back. Please go to the excellent Maiko Sushi or Aikawa instead.
Great sushi, very fresh highly recommend. Delivery service was right on time.
Due to COVID only Take out is available but the food is very Delicious and the Staff is very Cooperative
Ordered delivery online, called in credit card number. They answered the phone right away and delivery was prompt (40 min on a Friday evening) Everything was accurate, generous portions and well presented. Rice was moist, fish was fresh, and tempura was still crispy. Only complaint that soft shell crab was a little over cooked and bland. Would definitely order again.
Excellent value for money
Delicious sushi, bring your own wine.
My colleagues and I love this place. Their prices are super accessible, the food is good and the service by Carolina is excellent. She knows us already and brings us what we like right away without even having to ask for it. We order in advance so we can save some time since our time is limited.
Best sushi.
Very underwhelming experience. Sushi was sub-par, even the specialties. The fish did not look or taste fresh. The service was very slow..it took over an hour and a half to get our food. Wouldn t come back
Very nice cozy little Japanese restaurant located on a quieter part of Sources Blvd. south of Highway 40. Delicious soups, salads, teriyaki and sushi. Dont forget to bring your own wine and if you like warm sake they will heat it up for you!
Love, love and love it.
Very simple restaurant, extraordinary sushi!
I went there for lunch on a Friday with coworkers. I ordered the sushi and sashimi mixed plate. The food was mediocre, and the service was okay. The presentation of the sushi on the plates was tacky. But the water they served tasted very odd, all 6 people at the table had the same comment. The water was infused with lemons and cucumbers but the taste was almost musky. No one at our table drank it.
Ive been there three times now and service is always good and the fish is very fresh and delicious! Its byob too which is great! Definitely recommend and will be going back.
Cozy and nice place... service great
Some really good Sushi
Amazing!
Did not go here
Wow! Ginger dressing on the salad was amazing and the tapas are some of the best Ive had!
Food was great, service was good. You can bring your own wine/beer! We loved it! Also Its nice not to be stared at for not knowing any French. -when you order a few things, they all come on one plate-we didnt realize this and I ate most of hubbys dinner
Food and service excellent
Great bring your own wine sushi place, excellent food and service.
Very good flavors and styles!
By far the best place for sushi in town dont look further. Very fresh and always excellent!
Good quality, good service and good selection of japanese fusion
I was there to celebrate a birthday party with a group of 20 people. Very fresh fish. Their sunset and sunrise rolls are absolutely delicious. I would say however that the way they prepare the sushi rice is under-par. They pack the rice too tight and as a result, the roll becomes a bit dense and chewy. Some friends ordered specialty rolls and although the presentation is very nice, the rice to filling ratio is too high...Service was also a bit spotty. People did not get their food at the same time. We were split in 2 tables of 10 but 1 of the tables waited around while the other nearly finished their appetizers. I would go back if I happened to be in Pointe Claire but would not make a special trip just to go there.
Good menu and the staff members are really nice.
Friendly atmosphere, good food and bring your own wine. Great value.
Best sushi hands down
Food and service excellent
An ok experience. Some of their specialty rolls/tapas were great, as well as the tiramisu. Alot of other things subpar, including the sashimi platter, and distinctly different agadashi tofu made with hard tofu and weird crust. The quality to price ratio is also disappointing.
Very tasty. Bring your own wine. Friendly staff. Definitely go again.
Love the all you can eat. Good variety, not just for sushi.
Great food easy prices.
Weve ordered takeout and delivery via online services numerous times. Once the soup spilled in the drivers car so they replaced it within 30mins. Always excellent service and quality.
Big plate serves well a starving lioness ...Im pleased with what I had.
Food is always very creative and delicious!! Love it here. Sucha a hidden gem
Best sushi in the west island.
I loved it, very clean and good service
Nice and cosy, good service and the sushi is good
Best sushi, nice ambiance and excellent service. Will definitely go back.
Tasty and go with fun friends,
Delicious sushi! The yin and ying tapas are delicious! The salmon tartar is a very generous portion and the sashimi is so fresh. Service is great and byob! Has become our new girls night out restaurant!
Hello, me and my wife have been following this chef-owner for almost two decades, we travel all over the world and we have fun tasting Sushi from everywhere and for the moment nothing compares to Katoreya!! THANKS !!
Good quality and value for the west island. Always arrives quickly and fresh when I order for delivery. I can not understand how/why they use medium grain rice instead of short grain, very strange texture. But their tempura is great, fish is always very fresh in their sushi. Havent byowd yet, but hope to soon. Solid choice, would much rather come here than sushi shop!
For take out this is the best sushi I had in the west island .. more expensive than some others but well worthed to pay the extra $
This is my favourite byob sushi restaurant. Along with the regular fare, the menu has different items of sushi, sashimi, rolls and specialties. If you arent a sushi fan there are alternatives too. Consistantly good and the service well timed. If you love sushi and live in the west island you must try it.
Great service! Impecable sushi! So fresh will definitely come back! 10/10 would recommend
Good sushi and BYOB!!
Amazing sushi and great customer service
Best sushi great service
Staff : 10/10 Clean : 10/10 Food : 9/10 It worth it ! Very nice ! Very fresh ! Very good for the price! You must try the won ton soup.
Food is excellent, service is top notch.
Delicious
Original and delicious dishes, large varieties of cooked dishes like sushi with lobsters and soft-shell crabs. The Tiramisu is surprisingly light.
A nice place...I wasnt overwhelmed, or underwhelmed. It was good. Id go back if I was in good company.
Best sushi in the west island
Great sushi, excellent service and more reasonably priced than other places of comparable quality.
