Outdoor Lovers Bed & Breakfast in Port Alberni

I can not recommend that B&B.

Pleasant night at a couples house. We feel that they put a lot of love into serving guests.

Beautiful place supposed to be calm and relaxing, but... word of advice dont go through the front door! As soon as you arrive, you will immediately be pointed out The carpet where you can put your shoes. Then, two floors to climb to reach your room, so be warned, large suitcases are not recommended, the stairs are steep and narrow. You then hope to have a calm and serene night, but thats without counting on the incessant noise of the buildings air conditioning, which will stupidly but surely punctuate your night in micro-alarm clock mode. The next morning, at breakfast, be careful to wait for your host to assign you a seat. If, like me, you had the idea of sitting wherever you like, with a beautiful view as a bonus, prepare to be moved, because it is your host who indicates the seats at the table. You will be served with a limited choice: organic muesli, natural yogurt and fruit compote. If youre feeling peckish and hoping for bread, youll have to ask for it specifically. Finally, keep an eye on the time: check-out is at 10 a.m., because from 9:43 a.m., you will be firmly reminded, shouting from the bottom of the stairs, that you must leave your room at 10 a.m.! And if, unfortunately, you decide to finish your email started in your room, installed on a small corner of the sofa next to the front door. Madam will come very quickly to tell you that an electrical outlet is located outside, on the terrace, to remind you that you are going over schedule. It is therefore with cold fingers that I end this review, strongly advising you to flee this place, more military than friendly!

Very clean place and hospitable hosts. We received a handmade soap from the owner. Home cooked meals are excellent! We recommend this place without hesitation!

Bill and Milly are very helpful and sustainable hosts. They like to share their beautiful house and fulfill (almost) every wish of their guests. The accommodation is a good starting point for all kinds of activities.

Six of us stayed in your beautiful house for four nights, which is very lovingly furnished. Bill prepared very tasty dishes for us and is flexible for vegetarians and vegans We really liked the sustainable and environmentally friendly way of life. Homemade soaps, yogurt, syrup, granola, jam, these are just the things we experienced in the four days. Bill provided us with numerous excursion tips. Milly also offered to let us do our laundry. Super nice. There are a lot of deer running around in town and dont let themselves be disturbed. All in all the stay was very good, if it wasnt so far away we would definitely come back. You are great, highly recommended hosts, thank you very much!

So loving - cute rooms with air conditioning & fans, comfortable beds, magical, varied, homemade breakfast (and in our case also dinner), mostly with organic products from the garden and the surrounding area, Bill & Milly give you a family feeling, their humor is a joy and her excursion tips are priceless. If we could, we would give at least 10 stars. The B&B was without a doubt the nicest accommodation on our trip. We were accommodated very comfortably under the roof. The rooms are lovingly furnished, the bed linen is cuddly soft and mint-scented shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and homemade soap are provided in the bathroom. We were warmly welcomed with a delicious, homemade dinner and, of course, received lovingly explained insider tips from Bill that were worth seeing. The homemade breakfast varies every morning and is simply a delight. Bill and Milly are very warm and like family. Bill invited us to cook with him and we went on a wonderful walk in the forest with the dogs. If you expect great food, cozy and lovingly furnished rooms, and super warm, open, humorous people, youve come to the right place. Awesome friendly hosts! Rooms: Stayed in the top floor apartment. Lots of space, nice little balcony and a small but freshly renovated bathroom. Food and drinks: Very delicious handmade dinner and breakfast.

Wonderful stay with Milly & Bill! The room, bathroom and common areas were all very clean and very comfortable. The bed and bedding were very cozy. The bathroom has everything you need with great products and the added bonus of handmade soaps by the host himself. The location is perfect, we were able to go to the brewery just before and we were close to the bus stop to reach Ucluelet the next morning of our stay. Milly & Bill are very welcoming and accommodating, they prepared a great dinner for us upon our arrival, as well as a very early breakfast (local and homemade products) so that we could travel on a full stomach. They are amazing, I will definitely come back and recommend 200%, thanks again Milly & Bill!!!

Stayed with Bill and Milly for a week. Lovely clean home, a variety of home cooked breakfasts everyday, lots of lovely conversation and generally a great place to stay while in Port Alberni.

This is the best Bed & Breakfast we stayed at! We stayed for two nights at Bill & Millys after hiking the West Coast Trail. Originally we only booked one night, but spontaneously stayed one more night. The hosts Bill & Milliy are truly amazing. Expect to have a homecooked meal for breakfast and dinner - one that can easily match a good local restaurant. We stayed in the beautifully renovated room in just underneath roof and could overlook the Port of Port Alberni. Since we had time to spare, Bill gladly filled our afternoon with a trip to the Stamp River National Park to watch the Salmon run - a unique experience. On top of that we got to enjoy a class on soap making in the morning before we left. In a nutshell - this is the place to stay in the Port Alberni area. No surprises here. Place comes as advertised. The house and the room we stayed in were very clean. It was a bonus to get dinner included. The hosts were cordial and helpful.

Bill, Milly, Winnie, and Dodger are excellent hosts! We were greeted with warm hospitality, clean comfortable room and common areas, and excellent home cooked meals. Bill holds a wealth of local knowledge and is eager to share and help make your stay in Port Alberni as rich as possible. We will happily visit again next time were in town!

Bill and Milli are the perfect hosts that make you feel right at home in their comfortable BnB. I stayed there for a few days and loved the location and its proximity to everything. Bill and Milli are very knowledgable about Vancouver island in a myriad of ways and can entertain a great conversation about just about anything. I was invited to come back and say hi once I finally moved to Port Alberni and six months after moving here I took them up on the offer. They invited me in for some really good tea and conversation while my one year old daughter played with their toys and very nice dog Dodger. I recommend Outdoor Lovers BnB to anyone!

We stayed one night and unfortunately we had to leave very early in the morning for the ferry but it is the perfect location between Nanaimo and Tofino/Ucluelet to enjoy the mountains, the forest (cathedral grove...) before leaving by ferry (or upon arrival so as not to get too tired). A house perfectly designed to receive guests in great comfort (Ultimate comfort mention for the beds and the bathroom), plus they are real cordon bleu! Exquisite evening meal (its worth it!!) in a group with other guests which allows you to discover people and regions and to exchange tourist experiences and the best places for fauna and flora! In short, left too early but next time, I know I will stop longer in Port Albani and with them :) ps: we also thank the advice on nearby bars available in the room, we drank one of the best beers on Vancouver Island at Dog Mountain Brewing!

Fantastic stay with 2 fantastic hosts. Breakfast is delicious, the rooms are clean and comfortable and they are super helpful with things to do and places to eat in the area. Could not recommend enough and will 100% stay again if ever in the area.

Excellent B&B and way better than the hotel we would otherwise have stayed in (no cheap towels, toiletries, air conditioners, etc). The rooms were spacious, private, clean and well maintained, and hosts Millie & Bill were very welcoming without overstepping. Bill fed us delicious meals, made from quality ingredients with home made delicacies such as his berry compote. The location is convenient and peaceful, especially mornings on the balcony overlooking the inlet.

Wonderful accommodation with wonderful hosts! Rooms: Large comfortable bed, wardrobe, desk, heater in case it gets too cold. Shared bathroom with the next room. Everything very clean and comfortable. Nearby activities: Some nice hikes nearby: stamp long river trail, Alberni Inlet trail are my favorites. Bill and Millie are happy to give tips. Otherwise everything is easily accessible by car. E.g. Tofino, Ucluelet, Courtenay, Nanaimo... Food and drinks: Coffee and tea are always possible upon request! Super delicious breakfast. Dinner is also possible upon request, which Bill prepares fresh every day. High quality ingredients. Noteworthy details: Price-performance unbeatable. Millie and Bill very helpful and very welcoming. I felt very comfortable.

Stopped over for two nights. The hosts were both welcoming and helpful. Bedrooms clean and comfortable. In fact the whole house was comfortable. Tasty breakfast provided on both mornings. Would recommend.

We were trapped in Port Alberni due to a wildfire. Finding Bill and Millies b&b was the greatest stroke of luck. A lovely heritage home with all the amenities. We wanted for absolutely nothing! The personable hospitality was extraordinary. Thank-you!!!

very nice hosts, great accommodation. We had caught a few salmon and Bill not only grilled them in the evening but also made wonderful omelettes with them in the morning. The place and the area is definitely worth staying there for a few days longer. Definitely in this sweet B&B!

Why arent there six stars? The accommodation is very tidy and looks like it has been recently renovated, although the house is very old. Everything is tastefully decorated. This is not a normal B&B, but more like a shared apartment where you live with the owners. Everyone has their own private apartment but the common room. The dining room is right next to the kitchen and is where delicious breakfast and, if desired, dinner are prepared. You eat the same as the owners. You get into conversation and get lots of tips. The organization from before booking to arrival was very professional and helpful. The view of the fjord is great. A great accommodation for guests who like to have contact with the hosts.

My wife and I stayed in the top suite. It was very comfortable with it s en suite bathroom and comfortable bed. The dinner and breakfast were very nice and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, we could only spend one night there because we travelled on. The room was very clean and homely. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept wonderfully. Breakfast the next day was perfect! The two hosts are very accommodating and friendly, you immediately feel welcome and at ease. Bill provided us with tips on where we might still have a chance to watch the salmon migration. And the two dogs are unbelievably cute! Thank you very much for letting us stay with you, it is an absolute recommendation!

Our stay at Milly & Bills was a delightful one-night stopover on our journey from Tofino to Victoria. Looking back, we wish we had planned for a longer visit! After spending a week on the island, its safe to say that Outdoor Lovers was the highlight of our accommodation experiences. The house is beautiful with a stunning view on the waterfront, and our room was very cosy. It felt just like home. Milly & Bills warm and welcoming reception added to the charm of our stay. We also enjoyed a delicious homemade dinner and breakfast. We wholeheartedly recommend staying at Milly & Bills! My wife and I had a wonderful 2 nights at Outdoor Lovers. Bill and Millie were great hosts. Some great conversations were had in the kitchen as Bill prepared his home cooked breakfast and dinners. The room we had included an ensuite and balcony overlooking the water. The bed was comfy and room was clean. Bill provided some great tips for local places of interest. It was the perfect location to access the Mary Rose Marine Services - cargo boat down to Bamfield. We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms: Spacious and clean with comfy bed. Food and drinks: The meals Bill provided were yummy and healthy home cooked dishes.

Made a very last minute decision on our way to Tofino to do a stopover in Port Alberni. While checking out the places to stay, Outdoor Lovers B&B popped up and thought we would give the real B&B a try. The super charming 4-story house is in a great, central location and has a beautiful view of the mountains and inlet. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a comfy, cozy room but took advantage of the living room to hang out that evening and enjoy the fireplace. The hosts Bill & Milly were awesome and served a fantastic breakfast to us in the morning before we headed out. We would love to go back and spend more time at the B&B and explore the area. Definitely would recommend!

A warm and welcoming home, with hosts who are happy to accommodate, bend to schedules, make your breakfast and answer all the questions you might have!

We spent a night there last summer and it was a great stay. The host is very nice and tries it best to comfort guests. See you again!

If I could give more stars I would. The hosts are great, Bill puts up a great breakfast , the rooms are bright and spotless. The view of the harbour and mountains from the balcony in the attic unit is scenic. Amenities include Bill s homemade soap, local shampoo and conditioner. One is us had an upset stomach from the car ride or perhaps some road food, but Bill put together hot tea with ginger that soothed the symptoms.

Bill and Milly were great hosts! The room and bathroom were super clean and they were incredibly flexible with allowing us to arrive a little early and leave a little late. They even drove me to my doctors appointment! They went above and beyond :)

Last summer when our Van broke down outside of port alberni Bill and Millie Went above and beyond To help us even coming to pick us up on the highway outside of town. The aerie was the only room available and we were super pleased with the space and the hospitality that Bill and Millie showed us ... Bill does a wonderful breakfast in the morning and he was kind enough to drive us to the ferry for a nominal fee to get us on our way the next morning... We highly recommend this bed and breakfast to all

We were accommodated with so much courtesy and patience with our children. The atmosphere is pleasant and the rooms are comfortable. The bathroom is so nice and the shower in the morning was well received. Breakfast and coffee is delicious! Thank you!

The owners were extremely respectful and welcoming. The room was bright, clean, fabulous comfortable bed with a coxy reading chair. I needed to get a report done and there is a perfect desk in front of a window for quiet study. The hosts fed me a lovely home cooked meal and breakfast. I had a change in plans and needed to get to Nanaimo so Bill and Millie gave e a ride AND didnt charge me for the second night. I appreciated the owners communication when booking, prior to booking and after I returned home. I highly recommend Outdoor Lovers B and B.

We booked this for an impromptu getaway, and it was perfect! Beds are comfy and the food was amazing! We didnt have too much of a plan for what we wanted to see so Bill gave us some great suggestions, complete with directions you wouldnt get online.

This is a great little find in Port Alberni. The bedroom was very comfortable and a good size for two. We were given a choice of breakfasts and our chosen dish, eggs with a veggie hash, was freshly made and very tasty. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the house is clean and nicely laid-out and situated walking distance from the towns amenities. Thoroughly recommended!

We had a lovely time here. Bill and Milly are great hosts with an engaging b & b vibe. Room was clean and worked well for our little family with an amazing view. The food was top notch, arguably the best burrito I ve ever had. No fridge or kettle in rooms but the hosts had coffee going before I finished asking about it. If I stay over in Port Alberni again, It will be here.

Wonderful, friendly and attentive hosts throughout - without being overbearing! Adorable, friendly animals and a beautiful house. We had the twin room with a shared bathroom, the beds were very comfortable and cleanliness was 10/10 (I have high standards as was a chambermaid for years). Delicious, healthy meal and breakfast with lots of homemade, organic options. Lots of help with things to do in the area and the very kind offer of lifts to areas of walking if needed. Set in a lovely little town with a cool brewery and lots of beautiful hikes surrounding and also not far from ferry port (Nainamo). Will definitely be back when next in BC.

We had a 2-night stay at Outdoor Lovers and greatly enjoyed the warm hospitality of our lovely hosts, Milly and Bill, and the wonderful vegetarian food that Bill prepared himself. We received very detailed instructions before arriving, the suite is quiet clean and well equipped. The location is near the sea, which has great view. Bill and Milly are so nice and thoughtful, we enjoy the day in their suite!

We have stayed at Bill and Millys place for one night and we love it so much. Immediately after we have booked our reservation, they asked us for our dietary preferences and told provided delicious and heartwarming home cooked food for us. 100 points for their hospitality The rooms were super clean and the the views of the rooms was also superb: one of our window faces the mountain and the other faces the lake. Its also just few minutes away from port alberni; making it a perfect situated location between Nanaimo and Tofino. Thank you very much Bill and Milly. We really appreciate it! :)

Our stay was wonderful! My family and I enjoyed the antique, but well-maintained house. My daughters loved the pets! The view was amazing! Were glad there were a pair of binoculars to gaze at the view better. The house was very open and we got to meet fellow tourists and locals. Bill prepare us with a great dinner and breakfast. We can just recommend this place! We had a great stay! The room was really nice and clean with a bathroom including homemade soap. Food was always freshly cooked and really delicious. We also had some nice talks! The best place to explore the Alberni Inlet. Would love to come back!

This place was perfect for our trip into Tofino. It provided a leisurely stopover from taking the ferry to Nanaimo and then getting an early start to Tofino the next day. Had a very comfortable stay with Bill and Tilley at their beautiful B&B!! Such amazing hosts and treated us to a delicious dinner on the evening of arrival as well as an awesome breakfast the following morning!Very clean and all the amenities we needed for our short stay! we stayed in a beautiful, large and very clean house. the rooms were quiet and very comfortable. the breakfast was healthy and delicious. The inn owners were very accommodating. the man of the house even gave us a few tips for spotting bears and salmon. I am very grateful for that. Sadly we wrote we wanted to arrive around 5 pm. Due to problems on the route and ferry, we arrived about 2.5 hours late at 7:45pm. the inn owner (Bill) had cooked extra (last time to eat was 7pm). We apologized politely and tried to explain that we didnt have cell phone connection while driving, nor were we able to give any other information (No Canadian Sim-Card) etc. The lady of the inn (Milly) wanted nothing to hear nor to do with that and ignored our apologies. That spoiled the already busy and long day. Nevertheless, we are very grateful that she provided this great breakfast the next day. Despite this incident, I recommend Milly and Bills inn to everyone

Will and Milly were incredibly gracious hosts! They offer you flexible breakfast times (between 7-9), will make dinner for you ( which by the way is delicious)! The house itself is great, extremely comfortable beds, thick warm blankets, strong heating unit, and any amenities you need. The location is superb, and I just had a wonderful time here. Next time I come up to Vancouver Island Ill definitely be staying here!

Milly and Bill make you feel at home right away. They are the most friendly, warm and knowledgeable hosts you can find. Their place was amazing, great view, beautiful fishpond and spacious living room. The room was so clean and tidy with lake and mountain view. They prepared a wonderful breakfast for us which was very delicious. They gave us valuable advice and tips about our next stops and treated us like family. Staying with them was the best decision we made in our trip and we will stay with them again whenever we want to visit Vancouver Island.

Bill and Milly are amazing hosts. They made our stay warm and comfortable, shared interesting stories about the Island, and made us delicious breakfast. Their dog Casper and cat Winnie were adorable as well. We would love to revisit them in the future!

My daughter and I had a lovely holiday thanks to Bill and Milly. The room was beautiful, the food was delicious, they have fur babies, and we were treated like it was our home. Milly and Bills place is perfect for a stay in Port Alberni. The location was great, a scenic view of mountain and lake. Very clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious. On top of that Milly and Bill are superb hosts. Would absolutely recommend to stay there.

This immaculately clean bed and breakfast is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Located on a quiet street with ocean view, the front walk way features magical wind chimes and a koi pond filled with friendly, healthy fish. Bill and Millie are wonderful hosts who pay attention to every detail - like serving their guests healthy, fresh, delicious, real food, exceptional coffee, gorgeous hand made soaps in the spotlessly clean bathrooms, and a bed that could rival any Ive slept in at good hotels. The final touch was feeling the fresh ocean breeze come in through my open window and letting the sound of wind chimes lull me to sleep. Thanks Millie and Bill!

Excellent in all aspects! Milly and Bill are real superhosts and the accommodation is a great renovated old building. The rooms have character, the bathroom is modern and clean. Bill prepared breakfast and dinner freshly and the hospitality of both is outstanding

Nice hosts and a great breakfast with homemade pancakes and blueberries. You also got very valuable tips; you should plan a day for the area and not just drive on.

They offered free dinner and breakfast which came along with great conversation. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the area, and gave lots of good recommendations of things to do and see. Great owners, you just dont go as you please. Theres a curfew, no keys as much as the room was nice I would not go back just based on the fact theres no key for the house and none for the room. October 3rd response to the owner: I was there to see salmon going upstream and bear sightings in the morning.... Not to party. Curfew sounds harsh, you should rethink the fact you never told your guest where to get glasses of water but of course it was mention to not pass in front of the sink. You were kind on site but behind the computer seem to be a whole different story. My comment was honest your room was mint great information from you. Then thats it. Its a house with extra room and not an establishment adapted for clients. Forgot to mention theres no parking on site.

Stay here! Milly and Bill are such generous hosts. The home is spotless. Breakfast delicious. Even provided dinner. The location is ideal for many great walks and hikes (Stamp River Falls; see the salmon run). And Bill gives great local gems of guidance. Next time we will stay here for longer and use as a base for exploring Tofino and more. Great thanks.

Our hosts Bill and Millie were great and friendly. They have a spot-less home. We were in PA for a week-long ice hockey camp. Bill cooked amazing breakfasts to get us going in the morning and kindly offered us supper as well at the end of our hockey day. They have a lovely dog and cat as well as a koi pond. The location is close enough to everything we wanted to do in PA. We are repeat customers for sure.

We were very well received. The place is very clean. We only met Bill, he is a very attentive host. Unfortunately, we stayed very little. I highly recommend.
