This place is a hidden gem to the traveller passing through Alberni. I found this place on Google search and found positive reviews, previous reviews were spot on. The special for the day was tasty and well done with plenty of food. Service was great and Cook said if you leave their restaurant hungry, you choose the wrong item. I'll be back.
I was brought a large portion of bacon eggs toast and hashbrowns served with unnecessarily loud clients behind me and my food was served with 2 human hairs cooked into my eggs. Very poor place.
Shockingly, this is a great spot for breakfast! I'm from Port Alberni, born and raised, and was hesitant to try this place because I remember it as "the Arli". But don't be fooled! Portions were very generous, the food was well cooked and seasoned deliciously! Definitely give it a try. I had the cheese omelette (with onions jalapenos and peppers), my husband had the eggs Benny. Both were delish, and we had leftovers, which we never usually do! Way better than boomerangs or pescadores. The place is super ugly and dingy inside but food was yummy, staff were friendly and provided good service. We will be back!

Flavours are there, but you get what you pay for in terms of experience. Reasonable prices for portion sizes but lacks substance. Hashbrown quantity substantial and crispy but seemed like frozen product. Ordered soft poached eggs for eggs benny but they turned out hard poached. French toast didn’t seem to have much egg mixture if any and very thin slices of bread. Bacon was cooked well. Clean, but weird old building smell. Bathroom (men’s) was clean but out of toilet paper. Overall 3.5 stars, fine with price paid but would go elsewhere to pay more and get more.
Very reasonable prices. Food is good and freshly made. They are not freaked out about virus! Clean and fast serve.
Had the 2 for $25 -meat loaf and my wife had the chicken parmesan with pasta. All was good.

Great food wonderful specials and awesome service. This is 1 of my favorite places to eat, specially the bacon cheese burger fries and gravy. However their beef dip is also great and todays breakfast special was great.

Stopped off here without planning, just found a spot for parking the RV and walked in. What a great place, the most amazing welcome by the lady (6th Aug 23 at 10am) and the food was great. I dont often leave food on a plate but the Hungry Man defeated me!! Nice place to chat with the locals, would 100% stop again. Being English, its hard to constantly tip as not something we do back home regularly (and its not expected) but the service was so great I hit that 30% tip button without hesitation. Thanks

Café with a very North American atmosphere, people know each other and talk to each other.
We checked on the web then drove 45 mins to have lunch. Found them closed and only a winding corridor to a pub at the back. Exterior appears to be almost falling down. No notices on door explaining what the heck was going on. Fortunately we found an excellent place nearby.

I think this has become our new regular place for wing Wednesdays! Each 1lb plate of wings is less than $5 and they have a ton of flavour choices. The waitress is always super kind and attentive.

We were looking for a place for brunch so I did a Google search and Turtle Beach was one of the locations that came up, the pictures of the food and reviews seemed the best so off we went. The building is so unusual it is a hotel, restaurant, fast food Mexican, bed and breakfast, and a bar. You wouldnt know Turtle Beach was even there if you werent going specifically for it, it is tucked just around the corner off the road. It takes a bit of time to get your food but it is home made and cooked fresh. Oh wow was the food delicious! You must try the home made clam chowder, it is the best chowder I have ever had garnished with muscles and clams still in the shell . Also the loaded poutine is sure to please. So if you are in the area or driving through make sure to stop in for a bite.

The poutine is delicious here, but you have to get it fully loaded. One of the cooks has moved away so I dont think its worthy of a 5 star at the moment.

Food was excellent and at very reasonable price but it took forever to get our plate and the service could definitely have been better... I would still recommend for the food but make sure you have plenty of time!
Thought it was a bit of a dump when we walked in. I could not have been more wrong. Friendly staff that accomodated allergies thoughtfully. Excellent food. Reasonable prices. If stopping for a bite on a road trip, 10/10 recommend.
