3835 Redford St, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 3S2, Canada
Relaxed, modern hotel offering warm, casual rooms, plus a saltwater pool, a restaurant & a pub.
Front desk seemed quite rude. I accidentally left my bag outside my car and didn’t realize until 1 hour after we had already checked out and when I went back front desk was stand offish until I went back with my partner to request to see the video surveillance. It’s been 2 weeks and I still haven’t gotten to see any of the footage to see if I could possibly spot who took my bag from the parking lot. Just very unprofessional and when I called to speak to the manager it seemed like front desk worker didn’t want to allow me to speak to the manager which I found very weird and yet again unprofessional. Backpack filled with over $1,000 worth of stuff ranging from clothes, makeup, phone chargers, baby clothes etc., Left my boyfriends bathroom bag there and got that back but they stole his expensive cologne
We stayed two nights on an Oct. weekend. Reception was good. Our main floor room faced the parking lot. It had all basic amenities. The beds were good. There was only one desk chair for seating. The bad thing was it was extremeley poorly lit. There was an OK ceiling light in the entryway, and decent bathroom lighting. But the main part of the room with two beds had only one dim light on a shared bedside table, and a single shaded small reading light on the desk. You cannot read a book when in bed! I asked for a floor lamp but they could only give me another desk lamp. They wanted to be helpful but couldn't fix the room's basic lighting under-design. Check out was fast and friendly. Sadly we can't recommend this hotel.
Not clean, beds are not confortable, very noisy hotel you can’t sleep at all ! I wasn t feelin safe in it and someone try to enter in our room around 2am while we were sleepin ! Even the parking is disgusting full of rubish ! The only good point is the lady (long dark hair) at the front desk who is so nice and smile.
We stayed here for 1 night, and the beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean. Please do not expect high-end services as it is a boutique hotel, and it is well maintained and serviced for a boutique hotel. Recommended!!
Bed was very comfortable. The room was clean, but there was a very large stain on the fabric chair. The toilet seat was very loose and felt like you could fall in
Do NOT stay here .. The place is a SHODDY DIVE ... We were charged full price ($220/night plus $33 in taxes/night = $253/night !!). The outside of the hotel is literally falling apart; the restaurant was shut down (and has been shut down for at least a year); the pool was shut down; there was no pop/drinks in the vending machine; the toilet didn't flush; and they even reused the paper room card sleeves ! (they were dirty and gross). When these issues were brought to their attention, they denied any discount and said we had to pay full price eventhough amenities (restaurant, pool) were unavailable !! TOTAL RIP-OFF !!
We stayed here for two nights for a hockey camp in May. The place is very nice for the budget type of travel. We were debating between the Hospitality and Best W (there is not that many options there anyways) and were very happy with our choice at the end. The quality would've been pretty much the same but the price was much better. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. The british guy on the check in who used to live in Dubai was a pleasure to chat with :) We will definitely stay again next time we are in Port Alberni for hockey.
Believe the bad reviews! They are not lying! Actual blood on the sheets - absolutely disgusting. Had to change rooms and the second room had holes in the smelly carpet, mouldy and ripped wallpaper in every corner, and a pool filled with sand and hair. It’s truly the worst hotel we’ve stayed at at the cost of over two hundred dollars a night. Believe the bad reviews - I wish I had! Port Alberni has very few places to stay but you’ll wish you’d slept elsewhere. Also to note no restaurant, and no elevator.
Garbage hotel dust in the rooms dirty beds washroom smells bad and is overall nastyy would not recommend at all
Just had transplant surgery and needed a place close to the hospital for follow up appointments. Location is ideal, very quiet and affordable.
This was a nice stay! The room was clean and updated, with a really nice bathroom.
Noteworthy details: Very efficient and friendly staff. A nice little place with a pool and hot tub. Everywhere was clean and tidy and nice. Rooms
The rooms are rustic, just like the hotel, and everything deserves a good refresh. The bedspread was a bit dirty, it wasnt very welcoming.
Clean rooms and really friendly helpful front end staff!
Desperately needs renovation. High price for conditions. However, the staff are exceptional. They need air conditioning in lobby. You need cash for beverages.
Clean decent hotel. The lady at the reception was very nice and had a few tips on what to see.
Best spot to stay in Port Alberni, much better prices then other hotels and the room was cozy, WiFi great hottub excellent and staff kind.
Dont let the Pictures Fool you We drove up and right away knew it was a bad idea the pictures dont look anything like they do online Place looks very rundown so we decided to cancel and stay else where
Had a room with mold and bed bugs Staff was very rude, especially the manager Had no remote in my room for tv Pool has been closed for months And extra charges I didnt see before paying were added post .... I had to take it because being from New York, I traveled long to have this experience Noteworthy details: Mold and bed bugs
We travel with a certified BC & AB guide dog. We stayed Apr. 22nd for one night. Booking and checking in was no problem. In the morning the male staff member barked, No pets allowed! as we walked by. Our dog was wearing his red vest identifying him as a service dog. This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable! We felt unwelcome. For your information it is illegal to refuse access to a person with a certified BC & AB guide dog. Not allowing access comes with a heafty fine from the government. Please educate your staff properly! Rooms: Usually the beds here are amazing. We stayed in room 254 and both queen beds were SO uncomfortable! They were sunken in the middle so bad. We both had horrible back pain for two days following.
Checked in, tv worked but no sound. It was 6 pm on a saturday. I informed person at the check in. He came by, no success in a fix. Moved to another room, very thin blanket on bed. Heater did not work, slept fully dressed, with a coat for a blanket. No extra blankets in closet. hardly slept. I checked out at 6am and informed the only staff member working. She said none of the heaters worked, they were in transition from winter to summer. I could not get out fast enough! Danny Williams
Dirty room with a used bandaid in plain view on the nightstand. Very noisy, and a parkinglot which vagrants commonly pass through
Hotel is ok has no breakfast and no Restaurant. A liquor store is right next to it. Fast food is close by. If you book over Expedia the price us ok. Not my first choice but ok for a night or two.
We spent there 2 days in August 2023. Rooms and facilities are OK and clean. Staff very friendly. However breakfast not recommended.
Terrible. Run down and old. Property hasn t been maintained. Staff not helpful. Noisy. Over priced. Had to move rooms at midnight because of noise (when the hotel was mostly empty). Rooms had chipped paint, taps didn t work, no heat, and weren t cleaned. Stay away! Rooms: Dirty, run down, broken amenities
Great place when needed Rooms: Clean Rooms : 5/5 |
I booked a room at Port Albernis Hospitality Inn on and for December 29th, 2023. My travel plans changed outside of my control, and I no longer needed the one-night stay. I called the Hospitality Inn later that morning to let them know that I would not be able to keep the reservation, and that they could allow someone else to book the room. I asked if they would waive the cost of the room given that I made the reservation (through Expedia) earlier that morning. I explained the situation and they decided not to waive the penalty (the full cost of the one-night reservation). I contacted Expedia and the very friendly agent offered to call the Hospitality Inn to see if there was something that could be done. The outcome was unfortunate--the Hospitality Inn refused to refund my one-night reservation. I know that policies are in place for a reason, but given the circumstances, I was hoping for some understanding. As a result, I would like to bring attention to this situation.
NOT PET FRIENDLY!!!
I know I left my prescription glasses here but they claim I didnt. They were purple .They were expensive I cant afford another pair..lying theives
The good: The hotel was clean, The hotel was quiet(first night) The staff was good, The rates were reasonable. The water was hot and the amenities were fine Flat Screen TV was a nice touch The beds were comfortable. Close to alot of amenities in the Port. The Bad: The hotel is in dire need of a cosmetic upgrade including drywall mud, paint and minor repairs. Adjacent rooms section needs to be eliminated or used more sparingly. It was noisy, on the second night. In a nearly empty hotel they put mildly noisy people next to me in an adjacent room. (Im assuming it was to save time and money for the housecleaning staff?) Again. on the second night a Saturday, it got alot nosier, (screaming, swearing and stomping around all hours of the night from the rooms above on the second night of our stay) some of the guys in other rooms had to run bathroom fans and TVs to drown out the noise. In conclusion, a little mud and paint would go alongway to upgrading this hotel but dont let the low price and the reviews fool you, its actually a fairly decent hotel at a fairly decent price that needs a few things done to bring it up to snuff and its needs to keep the noise down. So, would I recommend it, yes but with the caveat that you ask for a room with no one above or adjacent to you if possible.
I stay in a lot of hotels and motels, but this place was one of my favorites! Its very budget friendly, yet the staff make you feel welcome and the atmosphere is inviting. The pool and hot tub were awesome and the rooms were on par with a best Western. Everything was clean and quiet( except for our neighbours, but that wasnt the Inns fault) I was just sad to see that the restaurant wasnt open. That would have made it perfect. Try this place if you stop in Port Alberni. We enjoyed it so much!
Charge alot for just bedsheet stain
The television didnt work; the hairdryer didnt work. The room and bed were lovely.
Third time there. Handy to get to place and rooms are really nice.
Stayed 6 nights. Very convenient location. Staff were all very friendly. Beds and pillows comfortable.
The breakfast was superb! Great quality and a decent price. I definitely will recommend it to people visiting Port Alberni. Janet in the kitchen is making everything from scratch. No fake food here! Yummy pancakes, great bacon, real eggs, good coffee. All served by a cheerful host.
Port Alberni is not the city of dreams but access to the hotel is easy and close to major roads. The room was spotless and very spacious. Friendly welcome and generous and delicious breakfast (all you can eat). The pancakes were so fluffy you could have slept on them! Thanks again Janet Rooms: Clean and comfortable Food and drinks: Generous and delicious
Would I stay there again, probably not. The pool was amazing! Clean, clear and covered outside but not salt-water. The room was ok, the TV channels were limited, no lounge or pub and their breakfast is not continental ($9.99) so we had to go elsewhere to eat. Safety: The fireplace in the lobby has NO front glass or screen so watch your little ones!!! Noteworthy details: The pool is great!!
The room wasn t very clean when we checked in.
Is it perfect? No.... but this little town tries hard and this is a nice, well kept property. People are fantastic and welcoming. Breakfast is served for a minor add on fee daily and I was surprised by the offerings. Gas station, convenience store and Laundromat are across the street. Walking distance to bank, pharmacy and groceries as well as Tim Hortons. I enjoy it here and will definitely stay here again.
Well kept up and clean. Good breakfast
Surprised how clean and quiet the hotel was. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when I wanted extra blankets. The bed was very comfy. Lots of pillows. Very clean inside the room and carpets seem brand new. There is an ice machine. The hot tub and pool were great. There are pool towels. There is a small but new gym. The lobbyist is decorated for the season. They are really trying to put on a good product. Lost one star because the EV charger outside didnt charge the car properly. But that was not the fault of the hotel. The staff came out and tried their best to figure out what was wrong. We will definitely stay there again. We would have tried the breakfast but we had to get out of the hotel by 7:00 and that is when breakfast starts. Looks like a really good deal of a breakfast buffet for $10
Food and drinks: At the weekend brunch for only $10 and the food was very awesome. Cant beat that and beautiful atmospher Service
Food and drinks: Best breakfast deal in port Alberni
Hotel is awesome, staffs are friendly, I stayed there few times and keep come back because of this hearing impaired lady is very friendly and helpful.. she is awesome and keep the restaurant cleaned, very smile lady but very busy lady! I ll be coming back. She deserved to take a good tip which I did! I hope she will still work at the restaurant when I get back the breakfast buffet was so delicious. Thank you for your service. See you next time!! Rooms: Very clean! Bed comfortable!!
Covered pool but it was warm for mid December and our girls enjoyed swimming here
Rooms were clean and modern. Looks slightly abandoned with a giant parking lot and only two vehicles.
we were in town for work and our employer booked this room here. the website looked great. When we got there and checked in it was dark outside. We were told that all the amenities were closed. I assumed this was the result of Covid restrictions. It was not. The pool and restaurant and everything had been closed for years. The place seems to be completely neglected since the beautiful pictures were taken that are on the website. At work people confirmed that new owners had taken over and it has been neglected since. The room was clean we had a good sleep but everything else in the pictures shown are very old and out of date. it is not a top of the line hotel.
It was nice, but littl expensiv for what it is
Thoroughly disappointed!, place was fine. After reading countless reviews about quote youll know her when you get her employee. We didnt experience anything other then very normal service. After reading days of reviews we were excited to get the bitter treatment that was promised. I even tried to trigger the front desk with some obviously stupid questions about where the liquor store is (shares the parking lot) and nothing... Will maybe return when theres confirmation of the desired rude experience ambassador
Ive been staying here for 10+ years. The new lady did not accommodate me at 1pm. Check in is at 3. She claimed all pet rooms were taken. No pets in sight all evening and morning. She was not friendly at all. I miss Shelly, who was very friendly and accommodating. I am thinking of not returning.
There is no sound proofing at all so we hear ever cough, conversation and footstep above and beside us. In addition the hall smelled like bong while the rooms smelled like chemicals (I guess this is clean?). Sadly, the bed as hard and was not the full queen as advertised. The only good thing was we got a nice hot shower in the morning.
Im staying here right now. The room isnt bad for the price. Bed and pillows are comfortable, but it could do with a real clean, the room smelled like cheesy feet. Also couldnt put my clothes in the drawers as they smelt bad!. Biggest complaint today is that I came back to the hotel to find the braker had blown, so the fridge hasnt worked all day. I had food for my 3 night stay which had to be thrown away. Also, no coffee for the kurgic machine, or breakfast, which they advertised. Apparently the coffee is back ordered. If I was running the place Id buy a coffee machine and have it available at the reception for guests. Though the receptionist lady was amazing. I feel sorry for her as Im sure the complaints are constant. Shes new to the job. My advice: Find a job at a better hotel.
The service is ok, is hard to find hotel this day. Room is a bit dim but is ok.
This was actually for my son.Found the day clerk was very rude and unaccomodating. He will not be back to this motel
Not Clean Hair All Over Bed
We stayed here for the weekend over the Easter long weekend. The room was clean and staff were very approachable and friendly, however the room had no soundproofing and you can hear the conversations in the rooms on all sides of you. We were woken up around midnight from the guest next to us who was talking on speaker phone and seemingly yelling into the phone. We had to knock on the door to tell him to quiet down. We were looking forward to using the hot tub amenities, however they were closed so that was disappointing. The bathtub had dirty caulking around it. Otherwise it was an average stay.
This hotel use to be so nice know its very run down and the restaurant was not open the swimming pool was under maintenance. Morning staff was great but the after clerk could not understand me when I asked for another face cloth as we only had one and there were two of us, the clerk did not know what a face cloth was as there was a language barrier. Then in the morning we could not have coffee as the coffee pot was the wrong kind as the coffee was a pouches, were as the coffee maker only took coffee pods I did go down to the front desk and told the morning staff she was going to get me another coffee pot but I was to upset and told her not to bother as we were getting ready to check out any ways glad that we only stayed the one night and we will never go back. Its to bad the website of the hotel is misleading and very disappointing.
My family checked in and the first room had a clogged toilet. They were moved to another room. A cot was rented for our teenager son and they literally refused to provide bedding for the cot. The general manger Mehul Patel said you pay for the cot but there is absolutely no bedding provided the cot. Very disappointed that they would charge extra money for a cot but refuse to provide bedding.
Excellent value. Very clean and good service.
We had a good 2 night stay.
Been staying here for years. Finally come back after COVID and the place has turned into a dump. We arrived and the grounds and parking lot are so unkept that the place looked closed. All amenities were closed (pool, hot tub, ice machine etc) which didnt state that when booking as they called a day before to let us know and there was no discount provided. Hallways and rooms didnt smell great. Beds were the only decent experience we had. There was gum on our wall next to the bed in plain sight. I let the desk know when we were checking out and the lady didnt seem to care at all. Didnt even appologize or show any concern. I wont be back. Honestly i would rather pay for a campsite the stay here again.
Its okay for one night. Very nice front desk ladies.
Didnt stay here. Our reservation had in fine print that pool and resteraunt were not open, no door access to rooms, had to travel through lobby. Not worthy of the price.
I don t agree with them charging full price for a boutique hotel when it feels the same as other middle-range hotels and the pool wasn t even open. I ve stayed in boutique hotels all over the world and this place should not be able to use that term. It felt like a dated Days Inn. I did appreciate getting a room on short notice and how friendly the staff was. very eager to help. almost too friendly? i just wanted to check in to my room and sleep but she loved to chat and needed to take her time to focus on the task at hand. all in all, a fine experience. if you specifically want somewhere nice, go somewhere else. if you just need a clean place to sleep, absolutely stop here. room and bathroom were very clean which was what i cared about most at the time. if you re on a budget, you can probably find another option.
Never again. When we booked the room via phone call, we were not told that the pool, hot tub, dining room and every service were not open. We received an email after the fact!!! They offered No discount until I said something and only $10.00. NEVER AGAIN they spoke as if it was our fault for not asking if the services that are noted on their website were available. Speaking between themselves in another language and smiling....
Will never stay here again! Hotel looks nothing like the pictures, place is run down, they advertised amenities that they did not have. The website said the hotel offered a buffet breakfast awell as indoor and outdoor pools, which they did not have. No ice machine, no vending machine, and no TV, and when we told the front desk she said someone MIGHT be by to fix it, and no one ever came. There was 1 towel in our room, and housekeeping failed to keep our room stocked with necessities. Employees seemed to not care about the cleanliness of the place, or for their guests. For the price of this place would rather have slept in a tent!
As i book by internet we havent Been advice that the pool, the hot tub not working, the more we investigate the more we find out that they dont wana spend in pools. And there is no breakfeast beacuse of lack of staff .. only 10$ rebates for all whats missing . Room is more than acceptable
At this hotel you will not have access to anything because everything is out of order: the ice machine, vending machines, restaurant, all out of order. The rooms smell like smoke so if you have a smoke allergy do not stay there. The windows don t have screens either so airing out the room is not an option. Also the bathroom had gross brown stairs all over the walls, ceiling and door. Super gross! 200 dollars for an 8 hour stay was painful., I can t imagine people who stay there a couple days! Fix the problems management, also when I asked the front office why things were out of order., they rudely replied with I just work here without giving me an answer.
Stayed here for one night on a business trip the pictures are not what the place looks like. They must be 5 years old, the hotel is extremely run down and dirty. Stay at the best western in town this place is a dump. Wifi there is a waste of time, can not get any work done.
Very used hotel. Clean but needs a hand. Big hand.
Well, its a 2 star hotel and I gave it the two stars.
Very neat and clean and way better than any other hotel in the town. The staff and the manager are doing their best. The best thing is cleanliness and I found my room spotless. Hot tub was great and there is a liquor store on site. huge parking and lots of food option across the street with a gas station on the door step. I had a great sleep as it was very quite. The electric charging station is a plus for electric cars. Price was very reasonable for a stopover to Tofino else the rents in Tofino are sky high. Was very satisfied and will come back
Rooms were typical dark carpets, dark walled, poor noise barrier, small TV, small fridge (no complementary snacks or water. Definitely need a car No on-site amenities although there is a liquor store, esso convenience store across the street and a bus stop close by. Shoppers, Tims and banking within 4 block walking distance as well as Save On Foods
It was good experience staying in this hotel. Rooms were neat and clean. The south indian lady Archa and south indian man vinay were quiet helpful. The house keeping lady Julie did a great job during our stay.
Never stay there again Shower not working properly, my room was beside the maintenance room can t sleep from the sound from the maintenance room my upstairs room when he move I feel him in my room never had this experience in any hotel even if one star When I told the front disk lady I can t sleep she said ok
the older caucasian lady who works the front desk at night treats customers poorly and raises her voice after being asked a simple question, at 1am.. horrible customer service, do better.
Stayed there for a hockey tournament. What incredible staff. Everyone was very accommodating. Our stay was fantastic
Room was nothing like the pictures. Front desk lady who checked me In was rude. Bed sheets obviously hadnt been changed as there were bodily fluids all over it, and the comforter was dirty with make up and black shoe stains (I have pictures). There were holes in the wall. Bathroom was dirty, and the mini fridge almost fell on me as it just sits on top of a dresser. I called front desk for help with nasty bed stuff. She said she would go look for other bedding. I hadn t heard anything after 15 minutes so I went down to the front desk and there she was sitting there with her air buds chatting up a friend. Had to change rooms. Ended up in another room that had an air freshener bomb go off inside. Had to sleep with windows open. Asked manager to call me as he wasn t in when I checked out. Never heard from him. Just received a $20 inconvenience email. DO NOT STAY here. It is not worth the price and they obviously don t care about customers.
Great place to lay down for the night. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Price was fair.
We are local and see what is going on at this hotel. There are people drinking in the alley, they are allowing people to sleep beside the pool who are using drugs. No longer take care of the outside of hotel. It is really run down. We are constantly asking them to remove the people passed out beside and behind Hotel.
nice hotel, nice rooms and friendly staff. and very reasonably priced. Id go back for sure
Just a lot of little things: - Funny smell in the room - Walls are very thin so you hear people... - Not the cleanest - Asked repeatedly for Shampoo and Conditioner which they never did leave - Shower drain is 90% clogged - Don t provide the bagged breakfasts like other hotels do
$99.00 per night for a queen. Very clean. Very comfortable. Things are not being updated over time we have noticed though. Mold around the bathtub on the floor. Undercutting torn, falling apart. Taps leak in 2 suites we have been in recently.
Place was nice. Rooms were not cleaned the best. We had 2 rooms and neither had been properly cleaned. Still for the price hopefully it was an oversight and not a regular occurrence.
My room was not the cleanest there was garbage between the night stand and bed plus the carpet needed vacuuming spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling and the window was not secure and my room was ground level. I would not recommend staying there.
I stayed for 1 night for work, had to pay for myself, and was told that payment was resolved with my employer the next morning. Weeks later Im still the only one charged for me and my co-worker for 2 nights total. TL DR: Be prepared for them to mess up payments.
Very comfy bed...the best pillows!Had good sleep after a long day of hiking.Highly recommended.
Good: Comfy bed Good location, I was able to walk to my appointment and the shops. Quiet. Actually, only saw or heard 2 other guests in the two days I was there. Neutral: Pool is closed. This is necessary of course given pandemic circumstance. Bad: Seemed to be no food available at all even the ice and drinks vending machines did not function. Lots of hair in the drain. That was gross, and a surprise. All things considered, meh. It was alright. If it was 70 a night I would have felt it was a good deal but at 110 after taxes and fees it was missing some things.
Terrible lighting, sound deadening is at a minimum. The one lady at the desk was a missriable rude %!+(# . You will know her when you meet her. Plus side is the rest of the staff is awesome here , it was clean withba really comfortable bed. Beerstore in the parking lot!
STAY AWAY!! This was a terrible experience. I came to stay with my handicapped mother and when she got in between the sheets there was a giant wet spot ! Disgusting! I went to the front desk and said we wanted a new room, she gave me a key to a room nearby and I went to check it out. The beds were dry so I moved our things. Once my mom was in her new bed we turned on the tv and it didnt work. When I went to the front desk about it , the woman working said to me, you didnt check the room? I said excuse me I didn t know I was supposed to check the beds and the tv?! I told her I wanted a discount or a voucher since the room was $150 and not cheap for this terrible service we were getting. I was informed that she couldnt do anything about it and talk to the guy who works in the morning. When we checked out the next day that person told me that he couldnt do anything either and the manager would be in touch with me. Almost a month later and Ive heard nothing. Good to know how you treat your handicapped customers. We will absolutely never be back. Worst experience ever.
The experience starts with the receptionist!! The receptionst girl there was very unpleasant and not at accommodating, very poor customer service. No locks on the windows, we asked if we could get a different room with locks- none of the rooms have locks. We checked out the next day and went elsewhere. I do not recommend the place.
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The front desk personnel was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and it had a good AC system. Every morning we were asked if we needed something, such as more coffee, clean towels, cardboard glasses, etc... I found that pretty nice since they anticipated your needs. The hotel is old, but it is well maintained. I will stay here again without hesitation.
Falsely advertise pool and lounge that are not open. Front desk lady is rude. Really put a negative dent in my vacation...
Friends Booked room on expedia with visa debit. Upon arrival (2 women and 2 toddlers) card was not able to be used and no cash amt was able to be accepted so they slept in truck. Hardly safe! ..Horrible service people! Service
Good, very comfortable bed, ideal for resting. It has laundry in front for those who stay longer. It has a car charger. Brilliant.
As I write this, keeping in mind we are in a Covid pandemic. Pet friendly room. Pros. Clean, friendly, good for 1 nights layover. Cons. Wasnt sure if the place was even open when we showed up. All amenities closed. Missing signs. Landscape overgrown. Only 1 luggage trolly.
Very clean. Courteous staff. Comfortable.
My experience here was worst ever, nothing what was described as, rude staff dirty sheet and duvet with stain, no smoke detector in the room. Will never ever come to this place again and wont recommend. It was very disappointing experience.
Worst place I ever spent $165 a night! Sink was broken, fridge was broken and service was not that great but I guess its half decent!
5 star reviews here seem a bit sketchy... We had a pretty terrible experience there.. The young girl behind the counter was pretty rude and needs to work on her social skills when dealing with guests. The decor looks like the hotel is getting ready for demolition.. Everything is very old and dilapidated, the AC was noisy, the door had a broken handle and everything just looks really worn out. Im not giving it 1 star because the cleaning guy was super helpful and nice when we were asking about a lost item (should put him at the counter instead IMO). Also everything was closed at the hotel, they said it was due to COVID but we came from a hotel in Victoria where everything was operational so that seemed like an excuse to save on costs..
They called me the night before I was to arrive to inform me there was no restaurant, pool, hot tub or buffet. Maybe post it online. I had a very nice view of the junk in someones yard
The room was run down and dirty, pool closed, restaurant closed, not worth the money.
No swimming pool, no spa, no breakfast. Yet everything was included when booking.
Had an awful experience in August 2021. Was supposed to be staying here for two nights. Upon arrival the girl at the front desk was not very friendly, she gave us our room key and we went up to the room! I always check for bed bugs and when pulling the sheets back I noticed stains all over the sheets. Went back to the front and told her and was given a second room key. This room had dog and human hair in the bed sheets back to the front. Third room key and there s stains again is asking for a clean bed to sleep in that much to ask for? Apparently. The housekeeping staff came and GAVE ME sheets telling me her shift was done and I could put them on the bed come on. Spoke with manager who gave a whole story about being short staffed etc. If not able to run at full capacity then they shouldn t be. Only offer half the rooms and make sure it is clean. The outside is not maintained and does not match the photos online. Half the flags are missing, no landscaping etc. Not a huge deal but it should be updated. Then the day before our stay we re called and told there s no restaurant, pool, room service etc. Should have been aware when booking but it was so last minute we didn t have any other option during the busy season. Stayed one night and barely slept in our clothes. Thank goodness we found an Airbnb for our second night and got out of that awful place!!
The room was outdated and not the cleanest. Found a few strands of someone elses hair around the bathroom upon checking in.
1. The night shift lady was rude while checking in, she got frustrated when I pulled my MasterCard out instead of debit, and she seemed miserable at her job and seemed didn t want to help anyone. 2. When I showered the tub was clogged and the drain stopper didn t even work so I had to hold the drain for all the water to go out. 3. I went to go get a drink at the vending machines and they were all sold out every single one so I went upstairs and that one was also all sold out 4. They don t have cable in the room only the remote 5. Night shift lady isn t even at front desk so don t ask for anything during the night no one is there 6. I paid $202 just to stay at this outdated hotel that s not even worth $202 7. Room had a weird stink to it I wouldn t recommend this hotel and I m grateful I stayed for 1 night. Please do better as a customer we deserve better
Wonderful, but very overworked staff. Clean rooms. No services were available because of covidaphobia
I arrived at night and most of the lights were off, making the place look super ghetto. They arent very hospitable. The room really smells like stale vomit... The price is way over priced for what it is. Do not recommend. If you can find anywhere else. Do that instead.
The staff are so rude! They kicked us out after we found out we were in close contact with covid. Left us hanging in the rain, and he checked another guest into our room. No wait time at all. Plus the room is stinky and rug was sticky/crusty.
Front desk people are very rude! Very poor service towards indigenous people Wouldn t ever recommend Never staying here . Spent a lot of money for 2 nights to be treated very poorly
Not clean. Beds are not that comfortable either.
The picture of the room was not at all the room we stayed in. I dont believe any of the rooms look like the picture in the posted advertising.
Lovely boutique hotel not far from shops and restaurants
Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately pool and hot tub closed due to covid and no continental breakfast . Will go back
Bed was comfy. Could use a bit of a facelift. Over all it was ok. Pop machine didnt work. Pool and hottub closes.
I would even give less than 1 if possible. We arrived at 0115 at the hotel after a long journey. We asked for water and there was no water available in the hotel. The receptionist told sorry we dint serve water( what a joke) the cherry on the cake is that their wending machine was broken. Very poor service and they are missing in one main thing HOSPITALITY as their name says.
The hotel is definitely a no no of a comfortable stay! I booked this hotel for a small stay with my friends for a weekend gateway. This was the worst experience I ever had with any 3* hotel. The receptionist was not helpful at all and was pretty much rude. Hotel had no supplies for drinking water and all the wending machines were broken. When I requested the receptionist for providing some drinking water, they said it s not included in the hotel services and I can drive to nearest convenience store for water! Such a bizarre gesture!! I believe they should change the hotel name !! Since hospitality inn doesn t suit them.
Had a room booked beginning of November at a set price with a confirmation email. Ie. Proof! However, the hotel tried to tell me that I had a different price - $30 more. I went back and forth and just got so tired of arguing with them. Very poor customer service! The bedding had stains on the duvet and the bathroom floor had someone elses body hair on it. Disappointed and would not stay again
Excellent customer service. We ended up here after the road to Tofino was closed. The beds are surprisingly comfy, and they are pet friendly. Would stay again.
Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice amenities and complimentary breakfast.
alright place to stay staff i found a little rude but decent rooms there
Very good rooms for the price. They offer the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel!
Nice clean n respectable place to stay the night really nice
Would not recommend at all and changed my reservation to a more expensive room because they were almost full but not a car in the parking lot.
Wifi was slightly spotty in this particular room. Othorwise friendly desk and housekeeping! Cleanliness+ Space+ Comfort+
Not clean
room was very dated and in poor repair ..leaky taps etc .. lots of pretty sketchy people in the parking lot .. no discount in rates for shutting down the breakfast and pool etc during this time and on checkout adding a fee for advertising and marketing is insane.. I would recommend people stay clear of this place
Good staff, room is clean and semi modern. My stay on a Friday night was qyuoet.
Hotel was nice and clean. We got the Queen room with two queen beds - they are not queen beds they were double size beds. Brought up with front desk they said they consider it queen size wasnt all that impressed. The bed was small for myself and baby that has her co sleeper on the bed beside me.
Very friendly place and staff is very helpful and friendly
Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, good value for the price!!
Gross motel! Mold in the shower and on the bathroom tiles. Holes and in the bathroom door. Overpriced. Not clean at all. Would not recommend.
Was not good overall. Very dirty. The good - comfy bed - appreciate the snack pack in lieu of breakfast The bad - very worn down rooms - very dirty bathroom and room.. see photos. - absolutely not a 3 star hotel. - wifi didnt work Unfortunately I wont return.
Great place. Beds were so comfortable. Not far from Tims. Liquor Store beside parking lot. No complaints except for young people leaving garbage on parking lot. There was no pool or hot tub or breakfast due to covid. .
Room was dirty found chips under the bed. And smudged spider in the window
Hotel is lil bit old but its Nice and quiet place to stay for one or two nights
room smelt like bad body odor I was lied to multiple times by the staff
I certainly would not call this a boutique hotel. While it was once quite nice it has certainly gone downhill. The housekeeping was not good and the rooms have a funny odor. The staff seem to spend more time sitting in the lobby chatting with one another then actually working
The front desk clerk is slow and didnt seem like he knew what he was doing. The rooms look run down. The paint on the walls is scuffed and peeling. The electrical plugs in the bathroom didnt work. The A/C unit was old and INSANELY loud. The bedding was questionable. In my opinion, dont stay here. I have stayed at the Redford Motel... MUCH nicer! And the staff was great.
Clean, and friendly. Enjoyed my stay
Great place to stay to explore the area around port Alberni
Our room hadnt been used in a while and had unpleasant odors in it. But the price was right I guess.
Toilet is not clean, hair on the towels and bed sheet, A/C too loud, not recommended
Was ok staff was respectful
Like the Fish and chips!
Best hotel in the P of A!
Very clean. Basic hotel. Felt safe.
I always enjoy my time here. This trip the wrestling match was in town and must have been practising moves upstairs until 2am!! Not impressed but this is not the hotels fault. Front desk said I should have called them and they would have dealt with it. Chaperones should have been dealing with these teenagers. I understand kids will be kids but after 12am they should be quiet so others can sleep. I was overtired and grumpy next morning until I got my coffee at breakfast.
Nice
This was a great place at one time, but it seems to be going down hill
A good place to stay in Port Alberni.
Clean,comfortable, good restaurant, friendly staff
Out door hot tub and pool!
This place is the biggest dump. Please people that are traveling to Vancouver Island. My husband and I booked with this establishment. The first night the bed was so uncomfortable, so they moved us to another room. When i flipped the duvet over and there was a big spot of blood. I was digusted. The manger then moved us yet again to another room and flipped the sheet over and there was a big brown fecal stain on the comforter. There was 2 beds in the room, the other bed also had fresh blood stains on the comforter. The manger did nothing about it. He was going to charge me extra money because I told him, I was going to give him a bad review. They dont change sheets or pillow cases. We didnt even have hot water. The place is so dirty and discusting. I will never atay there again. And I will make sure the world knows about this dirty filthy establishment. I have taken pictures of all the blood and discusting things in that room. So I beg anyone please dont stay there. Abd if you do make sure you check your bed with a magnifying glass. This place should really be shut down. Never again.
I love the comfortable bed and workout I can do there.
Nice place. Quiet. Beautiful pool......
Pretty clean
This place is a run down dump. Rude front desk, lobby smelled like sewage. Nothing like what s advertised. Litterally looks like the set of a snuff film.
Good facility friendly staff
We stayed overnight for a holiday. The room we had was clean. The hot breakfast was great. Lots of choices to put in your omelette which was made to order. Close to the places I went. Highly recommended.
Great stay at the hotel staff was nice room was nice and the hot breakfast was delicious will definitely book again
Clean rooms, great breakfast for its price.
Lovely room, comfortable mattress, friendly staff.
Always stay here when in port. Extremely friendly staff and the beds are so comfortable.
Nothing boutique about it. No restaurant or pub as advertised. Building is run down with subpar repairs. Bed was comfortable, only reason it gets 2 stars.
We usually stay in more expensive hotels but we needed a pet friendly room last minute. I was a bit concerned that we wouldnt be happy here but ended up very happy and will be back. The room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable! The pool and hot tub were great and the free breakfast was nice with an omlette bar, hashbrowns, bagels, pancakes, cereal, and more.
Great place at comfortable price on port Alberni
I was very pleased and quite impressed with this hotel. The staff was very helpful; there isnt an elevator to the second floor, so they carried some of our bags to our room (even though we said it wasnt necessary). They also had all sorts of advice around things to do. Most impressive was the breakfast. The omelette bar was excellent! Everything about the hotel was so well run.
Quite ok for a stopover. Unfortunately it is very old and very noisy. Not a nice atmosphere in the breakfast room. So we always ate out.
Sorry, but the smell in the bathroom was beyond unpleasant.
Clean room, comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast.
I loved my stay at the hotel. It was booked by our company for us and surely wasnt a let down. SAJAD ALI the front desk guy was super helpful. He even provided me with an extra set of key cards to get in when my friends werent back yet.
Breakfast was fantastic, bed comfortable, dated but clean for age
Nice pool... decent breakfast...nice room
We spent 5 night in the hotel. No doubt the best of four others we stayed in, on our trip across Canada. Very nice and helpful people. Loved the free buffet breakfast that comes with the stay! The wonderful chef was right there making the omelettes with your hand picked ingredients. With the other items available I was able to have a different breakfast every day. My friend and I spent time in the heated pool and jacuzzi - loved it! We did wish they had a dinner available and if they have vending machines we didnt see them, but there is a variety store right across the street and a delicious take-out, delivery place just up the street.
Very quiet atmosphere,good breakfast
Awesome rooms and service
The rooms are great, the beds are incredibly comfy, the staff is great!!! The breakfast was awsome and I love the idea of creating you own ingredients for your omelette!! The cook is very friendly, and professional!! This is literally the only hotel we stay in port albernie where it has always been a great experience!!
Just the facts first: No heated Pool and not indoor at all No hot tub it was covered in scum. Broken rowing machine Poor quality treadmill Leaking faucet in our room water goes on the counter Broken towel rack Shower is terrible in both pressure and flow No lounge No restaurant No pub Lots of minor damage to the walls and carpet Truly an example of false advertising in the listing. Worth 1/2 the cost The bed is too soft for us.
Given the lack of decent accommodations in the city of Port Alberni, this is the place i stay. Just dont expect to be wowd. Rooms are ok, some better than others. Bathrooms are run down. Value for your money isnt great, but at least you dont feel like youre roughing it.
I stayed here last week with my family and had a great nights rest. The check in was quick and easy and they didn t mind me bringing my large breed dog which is had to come by! Our beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean. Great location too. To top it all off, we woke up to extremely friendly and helpful morning staff. The cleaning lady in the hallways was so great to my dog who was a bit nervous of her cart. On the front desk was a bright and cheerful lady who gave us some local info while we had coffee by the fireplace to let the rest of our room sleep in. The omelette bar was run by a skilled chef who prepared us fresh meals and patiently listened to my family and the jokes they think are hilarious! Haha. All around great service by all :)
