Archie's Subs and Eatery in Port Colborne

Ordered a torpedo at 2:50 was told it would be 20 min. Arrived to find a locked front door with the OPEN sign flashing. Confused as to what was happening I looked through the front window to see the back door open and an employee standing in it. I waved to get their attention and, to my surprise, got a wave back, clearly they had seen me yet no effort was made to open up. I was joined by another customer who decided to walk around back and see what was happening. He returned saying they were on a break, there weren t enough staff to run the restaurant. Still confused as to what was happening since I d just placed my order and could see it sitting on the shelf I drove around back to find 4 employees standing there. I asked if they were open, at which point the line cook told me they were on a 30 min lunch. No sign in the window stating that, OPEN sign still flashing away. I told them I had an order waiting and was argued down by two staff there was not. At this point another 20 min had elapsed and I had to leave. What upsets me most isn t the dismissive attitude of the staff, it s that I ll never go there again. Employees are what make or break a business and I m afraid the wheels are falling off at Archie s.

Tried calling and was hung up on and tried calling back but only got answering machine...very bad service called back got through but was told they were temporary closed for a half hour if you cant keep up hire more staff thats bad business.....

Great Value and portioning is quite generous!

The meals are always so big you end up with two meals, the prices are very affordable, the environment is beyond welcoming. The food is always extremely well put together and flavorful and fresh.

Went to get a sub, we were told they have no lettuce , I used the washroom ,when I walked by there was a head of lettuce in the Cooler in plain sight .. so I thought I ll order chicken finger instead , was told the girl that works the fryer wasn t in yet , I asked what time does she come in , she said 1 o clock , I said oh it s 130.. food basics is across the st an 3 of them working .. I won t be going back .

Usually really love this place, but recently came here, about a 20 minute drive from my house, 5pm on a Saturday. Phone said they were open, online said they were open, even their doors were open but they told me to leave when I walked in because they were closed. Kind of ridiculous.

I purchase two fish and chip diners today July 9th and a two subs when We opened the fish and chip dinners the fry s were burned in both dinners I would never serve this to any customer and will never purchase from Archie s again if this is what they serve customers

Fresh cut fries, deli meat. Simply awesome. I dont get why people would go to chain places when something like this exists. Really great value for the money.

Best subs in the whole region! SOOOO much meat, and just the right amount of toppings, fresh fresh buns, there isnt a better sub in Niagara. Only other thing Ive tried on the menu besides subs is the taco salad and pasta salad, also excellent, so I have zero doubt that anything you order from here is going to be amazing!

Everyone I know around this area thats a Foodie talks about this place. Well, went today for takeaway; Had a 8 Torpedo Sub with regular dressing. The sandwich and value is insane! 2 meals for most people. Cold Cuts high quality and the bread roll was fresh baked. Ill be back!

I was highly recommended Archie s by multiple people from PC and so I finally gave it a try. The food was great, fresh ingredients and lots of them. You cant beat the prices especially to support a local business and it was ready in no time. Staff are also very friendly!

Poor customer service. Took my order. Took my name. Even asked for my number (just in case.) Showed up 5 minutes before my order was due and they were closed. Lights off. Doors locked. No call. Unprofessional.

It was my first time visiting Archies for take-out. I ordered a 12 inch steak sub. It was piled high with steak, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and melted cheese. I have to say that it was the best hot sub sandwich I have ever had. The price is right in terms of what you get for the money. It fed me three meals it was so big! Itd be perfect to share with someone or for those with hearty appetites. The staff are very friendly and the place is spotless. There are even tables should you choose to dine in. I cant wait to try out some of the other menu options. Way to go Archies!

Horrible. I ordered the 8 pizza sub off of their HOT SUB MENU and pulled a soggy cold bun with barely melted cheese and raw pepperoni on it when I got home. I called to ask what they did to it and I was told If I wanted a HOT sub toasted I would have to ask and that all they did was microwave it. THEY MICROWAVED A PIZZA SUB. Just....wow. I worked in a salad bar for 3 years and I would never serve a customer food I wouldnt personally eat. I would not/will not eat this nor would I be proud that I served a customer food this horrible.

Nice place! Great food with HUGE potions!!! Staff was friendly. I do feel like the location was a bit dark inside and could use some brightening up with better lighting and some lighter colors. Kinda felt like I was at a bar rather than a food joint. Either way I would recommend eating here especially if your hungry!

Normally Archies is our go to sub place as you cant beat the taste. However, the last 2 times have been so disappointing. We always ask for no tomato due to allergies and of course there are tomatoes on it. A little more attention to detail would go a long way.

If you are in the area you have to try this sub shop. The portions are huge and the meat is more than double size. You get a fresh very big bun with loads of fresh toppings. The staff are very friendly and this is what a home town place feels like. Best sub I have ever eaten and I could only eat half twice.

Everytime I am back home in Port Colborne I try to visit Archies, I have never been disappointed. Everything I have tried has been amazing. I often get the Torpedo or the Nickelodeon. Highly recommend both. Vegetarian options: They have veggie options available Parking: There is parking on the street, and on side streets, depending on the time of day you may need to be patient or be ok with a bit of a walk. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible, but they will bring thi gs out to you if you order ahead

I have a hard time going to any other sub shops I literally go out of my way to get subs from here. Oh and their wraps are pretty good. Don t even get me started on their cheese balls! Yum!

Went in to order a sub and while I was waiting to order I watched the employee preparing another sub, she was not wearing any gloves and had long fingernails, never seen her wash her hands in between making subs and then watched her go on her phone to text and went back to making another sub, not washing hands again. This place used to be the go to sub shop.

My husband and I just relocated to the area and needed a quick meal during our move so we decided to try a local place I m so glad we went for Archie s! Not only are the subs delicious but they re HUGE. The cold cuts are great quality, the toppings are fresh, the buns are so tasty, and you can t beat the price for the amount of food you re getting. Don t waste your time at the Subway across the street, support local and go to Archie s!

We moved to Port Colborne about a month ago and quickly realized how awesome the food was on our first take out order and even more delighted to see it was an option on Uber Eats. Sadly, they really messed up on my order yesterday so now I m not sure I want to order from there again because I can t trust they won t screw up again. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Taco and was really looking forward to it but what I got was Buffalo Chicken Fries! First, I absolutely HATE anything with Buffalo sauce but worse, my stomach cannot handle deep fried foods like breaded chicken and fries so I was unable to eat! Really disappointed in this service.

So big. So full of meat. So delicious! I got the Philly Steak and Cheese. Was actually done properly. First place I ever went that truly nailed it!

The food is awsome with big portions. My only complaint is getting an order in when you are craving their delicious food. The girls taking orders are so polite and try their best, but they cant keep up with demand. The phone is ringing off the hook while they try to deal with taking orders in the store. I wish Archies would develope an online order system. Right now you either have to go in and order and wait 20 min for it to be freshly cooked, or try calling over and over by phone for pick up. You guys are too popular, and have too good of food to not have online ordering.

I have been a customer of Archies Subs for over 17 years and the quality of their product has always been amazing. I found their business when I started working for a print shop called Davies Stationery and after all these years, they still remember my order! And now, running my own print shop, we are happy to work alongside Archies to create their menus and signs, and ordering our lunch today with the same fixings as all those years ago reminded me just how awesome their food is. Lori and staff are efficient at their job and happy smiles while doing it, and every time I order from them, im never disappointed! We are so proud of this locally owned business and wish them great success in the future!

I stopped in there for my first time....the place was hopping...Each staff had their own duties to do and that was their station to work.Good idea that person can perfect that one job! As crazy busy as it was in there it ran like a well oiled machine....Great Team work....you could tell just by watching the smooth flow of it All!! a definite return visit in the future

Very good food. Plenty for the price. We got 2 12 inch Subs. The Taco sub gives you every taste of a taco on bread, I think if you add chips to it to add crunch it would be perfect. We also got the Corn Beef sub that was very good, lots of meat and tons of flavour. Service was fantastic, very polite and friendly people. Will definitely go if in the area again!!

This place is honestly insane. We got 2 GIGANTIC subs and a taco salad for dinner, and we didn t even end up getting to the salad the subs were just huge. You are definitely getting what you pay for and if you compare it to other sub places they re really not much more expensive especially for what your getting. We will absolutely be back.

The pictures from other reviewers do not do the food justice. Amazing! So many delicious choices, huge portions. The 12 subs could feed an entire family. Excellent value! Staff was so nice and friendly, asking us many times if we had everything we needed and checking. I give this place a 20/10.

Good food if you can get ahold of them to answer their phones and take your order. I have been calling from 545 till 630 and its either straight to voicemail or rings till it gets to voicemail. I get their busy but answer or put people on hold or in the evens have someone just work on the phones their lucky they are in a small town where our options are limited

Excellent subs on fresh buns piled high with meat. This isnt your cheap Subway cold cuts either. This is good quality meat like you would expect to buy at your favourite deli counter. They also have other dining option that Im not really familiar with.

God, how I love this place. The Big B is my go to staple. They must have a license to print money, always rammed with customers. Call ahead. Or better yet, stay away! I dont want to share this place with you! Go away! You wont like delicious tacos. Is it the best steak sub in the entire reigon? You judge. A large sub is enough to satisfy a pretty big hunger. Or you end up with q delicious second meal. Wait, I take it back... stay away... go to Wendys across the street. Staff is always friendly.

We got subs, and while they were delicious, I cannot stress how unhygienic this company is being during Covid-19. Every single person preparing the subs had their masks only covering their mouths. Then two of the ladies preparing the sandwiches took their masks off completely WHILE preparing OUR subs!!! Not worth the risk during these times!

In 5 years of going to Archies and getting the same order every time today was the worst I have got after waiting over 40 minutes my steak sub was so greasy. It was not a enjoyable experience

Headed to Port Colborne for a drive and lunch and decided to have a sub at Subway. As we were walking down the street, we noticed what seemed to be a local subway shop and decided to give it a try. The phone was ringing off the wall with orders coming in and as we were waiting outside for our order...the people walking in was non stop. Once we got to a picnic table by the canal and took our first bite, we knew what the fuss was all about. The best submarine sandwich ever!! Fresh bun, meat, cheese! It was our first but certainly not the last.

I JUST ate the mushroom burger and OMG! The burger was thick, juicy and cooked perfectly! Its the BEST burger I have ever had! If thats not good enough the price was FANTASTIC!

Honestly shouldnt own a restaurant if you have to have a guy stand outside and tell people you arent taking any more orders because youre overwhelmed, thats not how it works unfortunantly. There were 5 people in the place. Yeah phone orders but hire a 2nd/3rd/4th person or only take a set amount of pre-orders and change your hours. Super unprofessional.

I oder 3 times a weeks uaslly 40 50$ and most of time its to die for but last few weeks something has changed. Wings way over cook or not sauce but today chicken fingers n onion rings get 4 tiny pieces of chicken and literally 10 all stuck together onion rings for 15 bucks not cool Im scared to see what my 2 burgers look like but I guess I will get that surprise tonight at work driving truck hauling flour all over ont

Great food but it s takes a long time to get through on the phone and they often mess up your order. If you get take out here be sure to check your food in the car before going home. Also not very polite when calling back to complain about the order being wrong.

Hands down the best subs in town, very busy place during lunch and dinner rush times. Other offerings are simply delicious. Reasonably priced generous portions. They need a bigger location and more staff to deal with volume, dont be in a hurry.

Great take out menu. Everything from subs to tacos to burgers and fries. Friendly staff who work hard to get you your order as fast as possible. Only complaint is that its nearly impossible to order by phone. Would be much easier and convenient to order in advance and then just pick up.

Good enough food, but watch what youre being charged. They raised their prices in their cash register so it charges you more for certain items, but they elected not to change the prices on their online menu or on the menu board right inside. When they were called on it, I was assured it would be fixed, however weeks later they have actively elected not to make any changes and just hope you wont notice. When pointed out to the staff, they did not care at all and only know what the till tells them. There are 4 different prices for some items between their till, online menu, and store menu - example: Clubhouse sandwich is $7.45 on their newer online menu, $6.45 on the in-store menu board, $7.99 on a photo of the menu on Facebook, and over $9.00 when they actually ring it up.

Service was great and smooth. You order your sub and then wait outside and they call you to go back in to pick it up. I got the Turkey sub, it was very fresh ingredients and had a healthy serving of turkey meat, not like what youd get at Subway. Definitely recommend if youre looking for a top sub in the area.

Great subs usually but I tried to call in for a sub at 6pm got answering machine telling me to come into the store. Went to the store, it was busy which is understandable. Waited 5 minutes to get into the store thats fine. Then waited 30 more minutes as pre-orders came in and out in front of me (tried to pre-order)... they finally got to me I asked for a steak sub and they tell me they have no steak.... very dissatisfied... they should have signs when they lack product so this doesnt happen.

Only place to eat in Port Colborne if your looking for a sub or tacos. Great food and large portions with reasonable prices. I drive from Welland and Wainfleet just to get their food. Highly recommend and you wont be disappointed.

I remember years ago going to archies subs in port it was a delicious dinner one as a kid I looked forward to tonight was not it dont know if it is the times we are in but I just had the driest of all chicken subs ever the onion rings were great my daughter had a meatball sub and dont know what they did to the meatballs but more meat less filler and spice so disappointed in this place it was ...pass tence .. . Very good at one point not anymore
