We are a Brewery and Smokehouse. We brew our beer and make all our food from scratch. The opportunity to taste what freshness awaits.
Decent place but their beer variety has decreased (no soups, no porters, no stout, out of black lager), their dishes have definitely been skrinkfated (chicken and waffles in particular got a lot smaller), and food orders were forgotten. All that said, staff are generally nice, atmosphere is good, and flavourful is decent in most dishes. They used to be our go to but I think we're going to start considering other options before we come here again.
Very cool brewery! I love the mix of industrial and restaurant vibe. The layout is spacious and there is ample outdoor seating. The food is great! They have a mix of well thought out appez and beer pairing meals. Fav is the wings. The wings are not your traditional wing cut but the whole wing…..Fantastic idea. Most of all they have really good beer. My personal fav is the dark lager. Best thing is, their prices are affordable.
Went for a cool beer after a long hike in a hot day. Many crafted beers available and the bbq is delicious. The fries are amazing and it was what fries supposed to be.
We stopped in for a quick beer before the Provincial ball hockey tournament - it was fairly busy. Great atmosphere. Next time we are here we will order food as well (looked delicious!). I ordered the Thai Lager.
The atmosphere, beer, food and service are all 5 stars! Highly recommend the pull pork slider and the two big chicken tigh with 🧇. Will come back again
I'm extremely conflicted with this place. Does it deserve more stars or less stars. Let's start with some positives. Beer is good, unique, and flavorful. Food, flavors are good, sauces are good. However heading to the bad stuff. Quality of ingredients seem low, we are vegetarian/vegan but our table ate a lot of meat and the quality of cuts was very low, the brussel sprouts were tasty but low quality sprouts for sure. Just ingredients seem on the lower end. Also this comment is from my gf (give vegans a carb and they will drink more). The jackfruit vegan dish was literally nothing else but a plate of jackfruit which is pretty close to no calories (don't order this, waste of money). A bun jackfruit sandwich would suffice way better. Service was ok not great. The tofu bites were incredible through and through. Oh dishes are very small don't come hungry. This is a place I'd go to again but I do feel extremely conflicted, it's far from my usual spot visit list and it could be better without much effort, which is also the disappointing part.
Super yummy food ! And Lovely atmosphere ! Our server Lily was so fantastic ! She is so welcoming and answered any questions we had. She really made our experience even more better ! They have a pretty big patio , lots of seating ! And a pretty big menu for a brewery ! The meat was very yummy and their fries I would highly recommend!
Before visiting the tasting room, I tried Patina brews in several places. Also, I admire their involvement in the community's life during and after the pandemic, which made the visit so much more special. The atmosphere is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Decent list of beers on tap, including guest collaborations. As I mentioned, I have already tried quite a few of their creations, so there are no surprises – great sought-after product. I regret that we stopped by right after lunch and weren't hungry because some items on the food menu sounded delicious. Well, which adds yet another reason to visit again.
Great atmosphere and the food and drinks are amazing. Kimberly was our server and she was spectacular! 10/10 recommend
Good beer. No complaints.
Great spot. Good food and great beers
great venue. Very positive experience. Great wait staff and wonderful beer and food.
Omg the food is good. There is barely anywhere in the lower mainland to go for BBQ. This is the spot! Everything is smoked with their own house rub and lemme tell ya, YUMOLA. They also have 4 sauces they make in-house. I recommend the Alabama white sauce and the House Hot Sauce. The beer is fresh, and the service is great. My recommendations: Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Corn bread, Mac n Cheese, the wings or chicken thighs, the ribs, the weekly poutine or $5 Happy Hour poutine, the gravy (YUM), brussel sprouts. Oh ya the beer is good too. I enjoy the Mango Hefeweizen, and the Blueberry Blonde Check it out in the heart of Downtown Port Coquitlam. There is ample parking on the street, and a quick turnaround so chances are even if it s busy you won t wait long. There is also a big patio mostly covered year-round. Live music on Wednesdays it s just off the Coquitlam River and just off the bike path by Gates Park. Oh, and SUPER family friendly. The reason I go here is the food and I can take my kid. She has been coming for 4 years. I was taking her as a newborn. Dogs are also welcome (on the patio)
Smoked meats and veg and beers that are flavourful. A warm inviting atmosphere and staff that clearly live working there. Cannot recommend enough.
womens sanitary products easily accessible- considerate and hospitable staff. 10/10 recommend
I got 2 dark beer today and it was okay but my pulled pork burger was cold. 2 girl stuff were cold atitude aswell! No i contanct while i spoke to them for order or ask napkin.
Best Brewery in town!
a place with unprofessional and arrogant staff. my son got up to walk after he had been in the stroller for more than an hour, I was holding his hand. one of the waitresses told me to let him sit down or go outside with him because the child bothers people. when we booked they said that the place is family friendly.
It s our weekly watering hole. Great food and great beer.
Great brew pub, with Thursday trivia!
Updating my review to call out that the mulligatawny soup is absolutely amazing. Sliders and fries were also very good. Staff are super nice. I am happy to have Patina within walking distance!
favourite place in PoCo, friendly staff, and dog friendly :)
Ordered through ubereats to get a 4 pack and some ribs. Ribs came, no beer. Even if I refund its still another while until I can get my beer. I was really looking forward to pairing the ribs but thats going to go cold now. Honestly Im so disappointed in this Ive lost my appetite for the ribs aswell. Theres only so many things that one can enjoy and you rob me even of that.
Love their smoked beef brisket. I just wished their portion sizes were a bit bigger though.
Yummy BBQ, nice selection of GF options, good service!
Perfect place to relax and enjoy a drink. Highly recommend!
The black lager and the amber one are the best.
Revising my rating, we just went in the other day and had a horrible experience. We hadnt been in for four months, so we tried two beers that we normally enjoy. One was souring, the other was not as robust as I wanted to go with the BBQ I was intending to enjoy. I headed to the bathroom and my partner ordered two other beers we both normally like. While I was in the restroom the waiter told my partner that he would not bring us any more samples and wed need to buy a pint. (If I would have been at the table I would have walked right then.) But, we pressed on with two pints, and we both ordered food, but they brought my food and my partners food on the same tray. Thats fine, Ill cut my food on the table, thanks. Then they kept hovering at the table to try to take our plates. My partner was holding his silverware in his hands trying to eat and they still came to the table and asked if they could take his plate three different times. There are plenty of places in PoCo to eat, so we will be venturing elsewhere. Hope you get your beer issue sorted out.
Yes it was very busy tonight because of a private function but the prior review was not accurate or indicative of the people working. That said there is no excuse for not informing them that their order needed to be restarted due to be delivered to the wrong table. Otherwise the staff is very friendly and attentive. Mistakes happen and the hundred other customers enjoyed a great experience. Everyone has the right to their opinion but I felt the review was overly harsh. YMMV
For a Brewery this brewery by far has the best food. Great menu! Great atmosphere! Huge shout out to our server, Ashley, who was so upbeat and friendly and made our experience even better! Thank you Ashley! Will definitely become a regular!
Closing on a Saturday afternoon with no notice, you need to update your website. 2nd time that this has happened, unfortunately it will be my last attempt to spend my money at this brewery. Went to Taylight instead, and had much better beer!
Experienced three amazing things : 1) friendly staff, 2) refreshing black lager, and 3) delicious food! I liked the atmosphere of the place, too.
Super cute brewery, lovely lovely staff, especially steven super cool guy, food is so delicious, will definitely come back!
Patina Brewing Co. Brew House and BBQ is a true haven for craft beer and BBQ lovers! The atmosphere is rustic yet inviting, with a laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for any occasion. Their selection of craft beers is impressive, with something to suit every palate, from hop-forward IPAs to smooth, malty brews. The BBQ menu is equally outstanding tender, flavorful meats smoked to perfection, paired with delicious sides that complete the experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to recommend a beer or dish that will enhance your visit. Whether youre there for a casual drink or a full BBQ feast, Patina Brewing Co. delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for a great time with great food and drink!
Good beer & nice service
Great food and drinks! We got the combo that comes with all the main dishes. Our favourite was the chicken and the ribs. The brisket was also delicious although the first time we tried it it was dry. This could be a hit or miss. The Brussels sprouts and the Mac and cheese are delicious! We also tried the poutine and thought it was of great value. Will definitely be back when we crave bbq.
I dont drink, so I got a .5% Blackberry ale and shared a spinach dip and a beef brisket. Everything was delicious, staff was great, and the atmosphere was pretty cool. Will go again.
Food took about 45 minutes to arrive at the table. Appetizers came out with the main dishes. Was never asked for refills and had to grab the attention of another server over to bring cutlery, napkins and water. Our server took about 15 minutes to try and organize billing to be split between 2 couples. We were spoken to rudely and no apologies or explanations given for the delays.
Ive left been coming here for years. Love the beer on tap. Not keen on smoked food so wont comment. However I dislike the way the picnic tables are stretched out in one long line. Not intimate. The place is fast becoming a dog park. I like dogs but not when theyre where Ive come to relax. I like the new fake grass...looks good makes place feel cooler when its boiling hot.
Disappointing Lack of Empathy! TERRIBLE! My recent visit to Patina was marred by a terrible experience that left my family deeply disappointed. While dining with my toddler, baby, and husband, my toddler had an accident in the bathroom with his dad, resulting in my husbands t-shirt being wet as he washed his t-shirt because of a poop situation so he took of his tshirt. Unaware of the situation, I placed our order, only to be confronted by the unpleasant surprise. In an attempt to mitigate the situation, my husband wrapped himself in our baby pink blanket to cover himself. Seeking assistance, we requested a blanket from the server, as Patina supposedly provides extras for their patio. To our dismay, another server insisted that my husband needed a t-shirt and brought the manager. Despite explaining the situation, we were met with a lack of empathy. The manager callously insisted that we purchase a t-shirt or leave, disregarding the fact that accidents happen, especially in a supposed family restaurant. It was disheartening to witness the absence of understanding from the staff. A simple gesture, such as lending a Patina t-shirt or just a blanket ( instead of saying to buy one or leave) until we finished our meal, would have shown compassion towards our predicament. Instead, we were met with inflexibility and insensitivity. As patrons of what claims to be a family-oriented establishment, we expected more empathy and understanding. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Patina, and we have already shared our unfortunate experience with our family and friends.
We went there for food and the lemonade.
Exceptional. Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere. Simple menu, but they do everything well. More than I can say about most other local pics with huge menus, where nothing is very good.
Excellent food, beer, and service. Great addition to the area.
Have had the brisket and Nashville chicken sandwich and they are incredible. Perfect bbq and perfectly cooked food. Love the Thai lager and awesome vibe of the brewery!
It was awesome, although the 9pm closing seemed a little early 10 or 11pm would be better, hopefully in the summer. Foods good beers good. people are friendly.
Great atmosphere wonderful staff and very knowledgeable about there menus Just tried the strawberry kiwi sour was the perfect kick to a hard days work
I had the Italian Pilsner and the Poutine. It was all absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is very modern and the staff are awesome. This is a definite stop if youre in Port Coquitlam.
This place is nice and all, but theyre extremely short staffed. I spent half an hour trying to order and they kept saying someone will come to your table and take your order soon. I did eventually get to order just in the nick of time before the end of happy hour. Happy hour aside, $9 for a single beer is kind of highway robbery. That said, the food is fantastic and well priced!
We love patina but this weekend we bought a refill for the growler and the beer was lacking of gas, was it old beer sitting in the barrel or the guy didn t brew it correctly? I don t know but were disappointed because it s not cheap
Terrible time and manager so rude
Really good food and beer. We really enjoyed the Nashville chicken sandwich, the smoked Brussel sprouts, the deep fried pickles, the poutine. It was a long wait for food but definitely worth it. We also found it very chilly so bring a sweater.
Great food, craft beer, great atmosphere and great location! This place is our go-to for bbq chicken and our kids love the macaroni and waffle and chicken. Great place!
Great food and beer.
Nice place to grab a drink and some food, I love their happy hour and that they have it even on weekends. Then go for a walk by the river afterwards.
It s worth the bike ride for the beer, sit on the patio or inside on the rainy days. I don t bike in the rain. Now to the food, great selection of smokes and BBQ goodness. From pulled pork, ribs, sliders, smokehouse chicken wings. You have to come here, try Happy Hour if you can.
Really good bbq and even better beer!
Sun May 19, 2024: Been here many times but never for Brunch. To clarify their Sunday Brunch Hours: on their website it currently says brunch is from 11am to 2pm, but their Instagram (on this day, May 19/24) listed it as 10:30am to 1:30pm. I asked our server and he confirmed that they just changed it to 10:30am to 1:30pm. I asked for a paper menu as its easier to view, rather than scrolling through up & down on a small phone screen, but all they had was ghetto outdated one with tape covering items they no longer offered, with no prices listed, and NO BRUNCH ITEMS LISTED. -I ordered their Breakfast Hash: hashbrowns and veggies, topped with a poached egg & hollandaise sauce, for $14.50. I missed reading that it listed a poached egg meaning 1 egg. After my food was served, I realized there was only 1, and to get a 2nd one, it was an extra $4 . The original poached egg came VERY thoroughly cooked, so there was no ooey-goodness. When I ordered my 2nd poached egg @$4 , and I made sure to ask for this over-priced egg to be cooked medium, to my liking.... so I could enjoy the ooey-gooey yumminess. -The veggies were a couple of small pieces of green onion, and I think I found a couple tiny chunks of yellow pepper, under the hollandaise sauce. -There was no coffee listed on their menu, paper nor online, but I asked cuz I saw a small coffee bar setup close to their kitchen. Wasnt sure if that was just for Staff, or if they were serving it to patrons too. Luckily, they WERE serving it to patrons, so I was happy about that, and it was pretty good coffee. My husband asked for a cup too, after realizing it was a decent cup o coffee, but he had to ask multiple times because they forgot to bring it to him. -We were brought 2 sets of cutlery, there were 3 of us. Overall, the staff were friendly & the food was flavourful. Id consider giving them another try for brunch. -May 2024 experience--> Brought rating down to 3 __________________________ Oct 2021: Hubby loves this place, but I just havent had the chance to join him each time hes been. Ive tried it out a couple of times now, and each time has been very enjoyable. They have a very COVID safe environment! Their food is yummy and great lineup of beverages to try! Ill definitely always order their Double Dipper and Cornbread !! And their staff are very friendly and welcoming! -Oct 2021 experience-->Rated 5
Good place for BBQ & Beer
Love this place!!!!!!!!
Patinas Hazy IPA with the butternut squash salad and a side of Mac n cheese. Its what dreams are made of!!! Amazing food, Beers and service. Fun family appropriate dining!
Patina Brewing is, simply put, my favourite brewery. Excellent beer, mouth watering food and lets not forget a wonderful team of staff. If were deciding where we want to go out for food or beverages, Patina is always top of the list.
There are a number of breweries out there, but what makes Patinas stand out is having a local walkable neighbourhood hangout, that offers great beer and BBQ. There are not a lot of BBQ places in the area and my wife is vegetarian, so that often limits my opportunity for having BBQ. But they offer amazing vegetarian options with their brussel sprouts and pulled jackfruit. The portions are good and priced competitively.
This is a very popular place with great beer.
Great place to host a work event!
Great space and a really interesting menu of fun, comfort food. Owner stopped by to say hi and thanks for support, love the gin and juice as I am not a beer drinker. All in all though a good experience and Ill be back!
Great selection of beers, and delicious food
2nd edit: got driven off the patio today by screaming kids running around. It s not a playground. Edit: went with some friends yesterday around noon. Hardly any beers on tap because they had issues with their brewing system. Service was slow and inattentive. 10+ mins for water and then only 1 bottle for 6 of us. My friend ordered a sandwich and was told much later that they were sold out. Sold out of bread at noon on a Saturday. She took a minute to look at the menu again but the server never came back. Had to flag someone down. Then when our food came, hers did not. Food did not taste fresh. The menu is difficulty to read. It s all over the place. And honestly, the beer is mediocre at best. Seriously doubt I ll return. Original post: Really expensive beers. 14oz=$8 other breweries in the area 20oz=$7
Their food is very tasty, and their beer and cookies are fantastic! 2024 Update: Weve been going here for years and this is our second year subscribing to their beer box, so were in every month for our free pints and our monthly dose of amazing barbeque. Because of this Ive had almost everything on the menu, and its all fantastic. Some of my favourites are their fries, chicken legs, the cornbread, smoked brussel sprouts, and the brisket. The recent feature of burnt ends was AMAZING and Im hoping they become a regular feature of the menu. They almost always have delightful sours available, or some tasty fruit beers, as well as more basic beers thatll please any beer lover. Anyways, I obviously highly recommend these guys
Been many times! Love the deep fried pickles! Juicy is my fav beer. Great service and location to hang with friends.
Great service. Love the Hazy IPA and the Brussels sprouts.Great place to hang out with friends. #patinabrewing #friendshipsforged #beerforlife #friendsofpatina
Came here with some friends on this past easter weekend. I got the yorkies and they were fantastic. We also got the bucket of fun and it was pretty good too. Tried pork rinds for the first time, didnt hate it. Had the gin cocktail thing too. Enjoyed it all. My only issue was the portion size could have been a bit bigger but Im a bit of a fatty so...
I love this place and the beer theyre brewing.
Came for the beer, stayed for the BBQ! Had the yorkies with brisket and got THREE orders of the candied bacon because WOW!
Delicious BBQ, great beer, fab service, and wide open dining space! Whats not to like!! We went on May 4th and enjoyed a lot of Star Wars themed food and drinks.
They always cancel your Uber order without explanation.
Delicious beer and cuisine, a good offer of happy hours, attentive and at the same time unobtrusive service.
Tasty beer and BBQ joint. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great.
Still great service. Food is excellent and beer selection is great. Good atmosphere for any occasion.
Nice place, at lunch it was quiet enough for a business lunch. Food was fresh and tasty.
Amazing night last week at Patina. The Brussel Sprouts and Brisket are amazing. Thai Lager - My new favourite beer!
Good beer. I havent had the bbq yet, but it looks great.
The food was good. The Nashville chicken burger is never the spicy Im looking for, so that was a disappointment. The coffee milk brew was better than expected for a dark beer, and the old fashioned was perfect.
Justice for John VanDyck!
Great beer, great food, great service
Great atmosphere Applies and meals are delish Will be going back
First time there this Dec 31, they had karaoke and it was a blast!! Had the brisket and pork ribs which were really good. The wife loved the craft beers. Will definitely come back. Staff also very nice.
Great brewery in poco. BBQ was great best chicken legs I ve had in ages. Aime was great as well. Lily was lovely but the star of the show is the beer.
I want to support local, I really do. Cons: I took my underage daughter to Patina, she had 2 lemonades. I was charged $14 plus tax and tip. Most restaurants charge a couple of bucks for a pop or they charge $5 or $6 then refill for free. This gouging left such a bad taste in my mouth that I simply cannot go back it just feels like money first, above all else, and definitely feels anti-family. It s a shame as I really like their food and drinks, but now I cannot enjoy a family experience there.
Awesome place, great beer, cool vibe, good food and snacks!
I recently visited Patina and found the place to be charming, especially the outdoor area. The beers were delightful with a good variety, and the food was decent, though a bit on the pricey side.
The Dark Cherry Porter was great! Nice to see their extensive menu with tasty smoked meats. Happy ambiance.
What a cool little place this is!!!! Great Food & Service
Just had a couple pints of pale ale, some smoked chicken wings and a pulled pork poutine. Great beer, great food and great service. I definitely recommend it for craft beer or BBQ lovers.
Amazing food. Clean and comfortable atmosphere, nicely designed. Staff is very friendly as well.
First class brewery in DT PoCo. The best local chicken wings imho, and pairs perfectly with their double IPA. We had the queso cheese dip and chips as well, everything was fantastic. If you dip the wing in the queso sauce it s a level up.
Great food, beer and environment!
Tasty bbq, flavourful brews, awesome service, decent value not much else to say is there? All five stars are well deserved!
Visited Patina for first time tonight. Very busy due to music night and tri-city eats. Food, beers and service was great! Thanks Aimee.
First time at this brewery. Server Aimee made us feel very welcome, like we were part of the family. It was very busy but she still took the time to go over the various options available. Both the food and the beer were very good. Had the ribs and chicken. Chicken was awesome. Especially enjoyed the blueberry wheat ale. Would definitely go back,
So good
Great beers, good food, fun atmosphere!
Five star brewery. Beer: Very good Ambiance: Fabulous Food: Yes, please Dog friendly patio, super friendly staff, big interior, lots of food options. We tried the loaded fries with pulled pork and the brussel sprouts. Both dishes were delicious. The people next to us got the fried pickles and they were raving about them as well. And once more - the staff were great. The outdoor servers were a bit overwhelmed with the first nice day of the year but handled it beautifully. The guy running the taps inside was funny friendly and helpful. All around a wonderful experience and we will be back.
Good atmosphere and good beer
Large indoor area, multiple beers, Thursday night had table service, decent food offerings.
Speed of service, with approximately 10 women at the bar, is ridiculously slow. Finally, a seasoned server takes my drink order. Several minutes later, one of the many non-busy women breaks free of chit-chat with the gal-pals and brings me my long awaited porter. I drink that to 1/4 and the youngest and probably least experienced server asks if I want another. YES! And please bring me the Cueso and chips. Wow! This time the response is quick. The pub is now busier and all the severs are more engaged, but the check-in time to my table is still very very slow. There are a number of regulars who get constant service and attention. They are the in the cool kids! If you live in the neighborhood, this is the place for you. If not, there are many more places that will provide better service! But, what about the bevies and food. Their bevs have flavour but the brisket is dry unless you catch them on a good day.
Always on the hunt for a dog friendly brewery and we came across Patina a while back which is now in our rotation. Always a variety of beers and the food is good. For food, we love the wings and the Yorkies - even puppers agrees lol.
Have been to this place numerous times, and really haven t had a problem, but today was not that. I guess they were understaffed, busy and overwhelmed or overworked. The service was bad, servers were not upbeat or smiling, and met the owner and asked for something, and she was rude. Will not be recommending this place in the future.
Patina brewing has a great vibe for beer and snacks, however, in terms of food, it was pretty bad. The chicken wings were so burnt that there was literally no chicken on the inside. The fries were stale and they didnt bring us cutlery or napkins. The kicker is that you have to pay before you get your food (including tip). Overall, not a great experience for a meal. This was our third poor food experience, so we wont be back for a meal.
Makes me so happy when there s a BC local cider option! Banditry is one of my favourite cider breweries. I wish it was on tap at Patina. Luckily a pint of it isn t overpriced. My daughter looooooved the fried pickles. And can t go wrong with the bumpin throwback music that is raging here. Looking forward to another cider option soon! *fingers crossed* -1 star: Seems like disorganized serving. We have to wait for quite a while until we get a refill. I tend to give up on waiting & go up to the counter to get the bill or a drink.
Service was attentive and friendly. Beer (double IPA) was great. No bitterness at all which is quite remarkable for a strong IPA. Food was delicious. Poutine with Brisket portion was huge. I couldnt even finish it. My wife and daughter loved their entrees too. Great local place. Would definitely come back!
Absolutely love this Brewery. Super friendly staff and a great selection of beers. They dont base their flavor around one specific model of beer like some breweries which makes them very appealing to someone like myself who enjoys a selection in my flight... Also... The smoked chicken.... Mm-mm-mm
Fantastic beer and food. I had the kolsh and bunwhich with brisket. Went with a group of 7 and the server was friendly and competent. Value was great and the beer-food quality combo is tough to find executed at this level. Cheers.
Its a great place to have a beer in a casual atmosphere in the neighborhood.
Beer and atmosphere are good, and they host a ton of fun events frequently
Had amazing food, beer and service !
Food is good but spare yourself the hassle of ordering beer through any of the delivery services. The restaurant doesnt care and if theyre out of something, will make no effort to offer substitution or communicate through the app to remove the charge. Weve ordered from here a few times and each time theres a problem with missing or no beer and we have to dispute, causing more hassle for us.
Had a great first experience at Patina, we had a really awesome waitress who was very socialable and had lots of product knowledge and gave us recommendations and then some samples of different drinks. The food was better then anticipated, my partner and I shared fried pickles (her favorite) and then the brisket stuffed yorkies, the pickles were some of the best weve ever had and I would definitely get those Yorkies again. The beer is also top notch, very smooth and enjoyable to drink, very solid selection of drinks availabe here. All in all a really well managed place, nice atmosphere, great service and many food and drink options to fit your fancy, if you havent been id definitely recommend it.
If your into smoked brisket and amazing IPAs, you have found your next destination, enjoy!
Great food abs beer and good prices.
The service was good but we were disappointed to learn that the weekend brunch items listed as vegan (VG), were in fact not vegan. We were excited to try the food and made the trip out to try it. The staff were friendly, though, and tried their best to figure out what we could have (a veggie hash with jackfruit, side of hasbrowns with gravy - although we were shocked to see that the small cup of gravy cost $6!- and tofu wings). We were mostly excited about the Benedict and pancakes listed as vegan (VG) but learned we could not in fact have this. Oh well. Perhaps an update to the menu is in order.
Atmosphere and service was great! Beer was also really good however I had the Chef Salad which was really disappointing. Size was on the small side, dressing was sparse and had a strange flavour. Salad also had pulled pork on it didn t go together.
The service is terrible. Even with the place half empty, they take an hour to bring you water, and even more than that to have your food ready
Great beers and bbq. Service can be hit or miss. Overall a great place.
My daughter was over for visit with her dog and looking for a pet friendly place for lunch. We found this by using Google and so we tried it. Awesome service, to the point that the waitress brought water for her dog with their own dog dishes!! Brunch food and drinks amazing! Will come back again!
Some good beers here. Italian Pilsener or the Kolsch are my favorite. Wednesday nights have live music.
Nice staffs and nice foods with a good atmosphere!
Natalie and her crew were awesome! Delicious beers and yummy food
Wonderful staff, great brews, solid BBQ! A true gem for Port Coquitlam
Service was really great and friendly. Had the Chicken and waffles and the chicken was soooooo good. Highly recommend. The pulled pork tacos were also very good. Would go back and try more food options. They all sounded amazing. Had a hazy IPA and it was delicious. This place has a great outdoor patio too, so great spot on a sunny afternoon.
great time there, quick service, great food, great drinks
This has been a family favourite with us for 2 years now. Great food, warm staff, great atmosphere. Family friendly too. No kids menu but very kid accommodating. Honestly, love this place
Great little spot! Barbecue is delicious and their variety of beer is awesome! If you aren t a huge beer fan I really suggest their radlers. Good location in poco, and the patio has lots of shade.
Excellent, authentic Texas BBQ, highly recommend going with another couple and order the midnight snack . You will not be disappointed.
Great Spot to grab a cold refreshment and some good food with friends.
Smoky meats yummy sides very nice staff big spot with inside & outside dining
ABSOLUTELY the worst experience tonite. Chose to take the family out for the Oktoberfest feature menu as we have dined there many times before for their bbq menu. Surprisingly it was less than half full. We ordered beers and then food. 2 items arrived but 2 items did not. The server did not even notice till we asked. Then came back claiming that the feature menu does not always print in the kitchen when ordered. What???? This should be an easy fix. We ordered an additional appie and after 35 min we asked and she told us it would be 5 more min. She obviously forgot. When we asked her about why the food orders were messed up she exploded at us with BIG attitude. There was another staff member that knew there were issues at our table and she attempted to approach but literally swiveled and walked away. NOT ONCE did either of these staff talk to their manager. At this point we got up to pay and leave without finishing our drinks or getting our food. The manager was finally made aware of the situation and got very defensive and argumentative with us. She not only argued with myself and my husband but also with our 14 yo daughter. In a time when restaurants are struggling and then to have staff that are literally arguing with customers is disgusting. Shame on management.
Service was excellent, had the Sunday brunch which was delicious, washed down with a couple of flights
Review edited since the service has improved on recent visits. Noticeable improvements made outside on patio service, seems to be more staff, and beers are delivered to tables quickly. Beer is really tasty & buy takeout beer regularly, recommend to everyone.
Great variety of beer and service!
Great people, location. Add to that, fantastic food and great selection of quality beers.
Love this lil brewery! Always good options and if you re thinking food the beef brisket is amazing!
Its ones of my favorite breweries in the Tricity area.
Extremely disappointed with the service today, been here for 30 minutes and not a single Inquiry if I want food. (Which I do, starving). Usually a lot better. Wow.
Good beer selection, great staff, lots of space inside and out, and a good menu (made better by the weekly specials - butter chicken poutine mmmmm). Oct.23 update: Have now eaten quite a few things at Patina and sampled multiple beers. I think the Guava-Mango Hefeweizen is my favourite, but the Kolsch and many others are also excellent. Food-wise, they re pretty impressive for a brewery. Deep-fried pickles are a classic and done well here. The Tofu Wings are badly named and vegan (despite Parmesan in the description) but quite tasty. Not a fan of the presentation of pulled pork and jackfruit, which comes in a pile and I guess you re supposed to order some sides to make it into something non-pile? But the pulled pork bunwich is great (please offer a choice of coleslaw OR beans as a side!). Smoked Brussel Sprouts are utterly bizarre looking, but taste great. Definitely worth stopping in nice interior and service as well!
Great food, great food, and great service. Love the candy bacon.
Excellent food and beer, but food portions are about 30% too small.
Tried Patina out today. The beer selection was outstanding. My wife got a flight of 4 beers and all of them were good. The Irish Stout in particular was delicious! The food was good too. Disclaimer: I lived in Texas for over 20 years so I have a very high bar on BBQ, BUT... The brisket was quite good . We were pleasantly surprised by the quality. We had it both plain and in the mini Yorkies and both were good. The fried pickles were delicious too. This place is definitely going into the rotation!
Amazing food, great beers, good staff nice location : a place to go and come back
Delicious pulled pork sandwich and fries. Good portions for the price and fun atmosphere!
I hosted my 50th Birthday Celebration at Patina and it was a fabulous evening. Everyone raved about the food, saying it s some of the best BBQ they ve ever had and the smoked brussel sprouts are to die for. The staff were on point and catered to all our needs.
My girlfriend and I like to visit a brewery monthly together to catch up. As most people know, there are many places to do this in our city. Weve been looking for a new place and this could be it. The food was fresh, well seasoned everything youd hope for... I wish I had taken pictures of it, looked just as good as it tasted. Both of the beers we tried were nice and there were many more items and beers we wouldve liked to try - portion size also good Our server was so sweet, I wish I had gotten her name so I could call her out. She was very welcoming and we had a great time thanks to her hospitality. We were impressed all around, from cleanliness to hospitality and even the menu pricing, we found to be quite reasonable. Well be back because there are more things we want to try and we would recommend this place for sure, but not too loudly because we want to make sure there will be a table for us.
Wonderful & Fantastic
Great atmosphere, great beer, great people!
We had chicken n waffles and vegetarian chili, kombucha and beer. Cool place, friendly, great food and drink. Nice to stop in on a walk.
I so highly recommend going to Patina , the staff is amazing , they brew amazing beer and the food is always great :) Ive been going quite often since I moved to POCO and have not once had a bad experience. Also they have a dog friendly patio.
First Time there the is great Ill be back!
I have been to Patinas a few times. The food and drinks are really good. The service could be a bit better sometimes they are slow to check in on you hence I cant give them a 5 star rating. The staff are friendly and the place has a good atmosphere
My boyfriend and I dined in at Patinas this past weekend and I was very disappointed to say the least. The selection of the best dark beers were no longer available and after sitting and pondering the menu to decide what to have for dinner, I was told it s not available. We ordered the queso dip with warm tortillas to start which took about a half hour to come to the table when we asked the waitress why they are taking so long she replied the kitchen is very busy . I wanted a salad for dinner but apparently they were short staffed and there wasn t anyone to prep it but had the waitress told us before hand that certain things were not available I probably would have had a much more pleasant experience instead of finding out when ready to order. I won t be back as every time we have gone, the level of customer service level drops a bit and the beer selection is fewer or always out hence my one star.
Very cheap, feels like unwelcome, high price on food on small portions, to be honest they dont really care. Absolutely NOT recommended
Great beer choices, service and patio for the summer!
I absolutely love Patina. The staff, the vibe and the offerings are 10/10.
There was a bit of delay in getting service but the server was incredibly apologetic and so friendly that it more then made up for it. The beer is amazing and the food is a perfect accompaniment, great place all round!
Bbq was very sub par I think they boil their ribs before they grill a common mistake two people in our party ordered the same thing and both became very Ill from food poisoning . The staff was the only good thing there , they were wonderful.
We stopped by for some brunch and glad we came in for a try. We ordered the pancakes, benny and chicken and waffles and all were delicious! Patina is spacious and clean inside and service is great too!
My sister was out to visit. Just finish 2 hours walk. Great cold beer and food was great.
Yummy food!
Its a nice place. The street noise from weird super loud mufflers detracts a lot from enjoying this great patio.
I loved my experience tonight at Patina. Trevor was our server and wow! amazing customer service skills in a time when I experience poor customer service skills in the Lower Mainland, Trevor was a breath of fresh air. My drinks and food were great but without Trevor, my experience would not have been that memorable. Coming back again!
Edit: Well we went back and the experience was not the same without our same server. We asked for chips n caso to start never got that until our meal came. The corn bread I got was ICE COLD,like it just came out of freezer. My husband ask a server if it was supposed to be served this way the server touched the corn bread and was shocked and went to take it back. About a few seconds later the woman who seated us comes out with the SAME corn bread the server touched with his hands and told me If I wanted Hot Cornbread then I should of ordered it that way and threw down the cold touched by server cornbread. I did not eat the bread of course and they still charged us for it. My husband went here for our first time ever and it was amazing. From the service to the food everything was great. The place offers indoor and outdoor dining. If you are Dog person this patio is for you, as its dog friendly, even the pups have their own beer. Great BBQ and the potatoe salad is delicious . Unfortunately I didnt try any of the great Beers they offer because I dont drink beer but after seeing the sampler they have I might go back and try cause the beer sounded DELICIOUS.
Dominique was spectacular best service ever!!!
Consistently great beer, good food, and wonderful staff!
Honestly, kind of a letdown. We ordered takeout right at opening for lunch (ribs, butternut squash salad, potato salad and cornbread). The ribs were the best part of the meal, being fall-off-the-bone tender and nicely seasoned. The butternut squash salad wasnt worth the money. There werent all that many pieces of squash in the salad itself and the pieces didnt have any smoke flavour. The potato salad was pretty forgettable and bland. Ditto for the cornbread - Ive made better at home using a premade package. Because you have to order the sides separately, the bill was pretty steep for what we actually recieved.
Great beer, great staff, and they support the community
Love that Patina is taking social distance seriously. The patio is a gem. Their food is brilliant . They give their staff a living wage and their price point is very affordable. Check them out, you will be glad you did.
Awesome place for some good brews and BBQ. The pulled pork tacos are super tasty. Also love that you can make any of their beers into raddlers!
Great location, good food, fair prices! Nice local spot ND good to see young people working with pride
The roadmap for an excellent brewery is well travelled in Metro-Vancouver.... Patina is either too lazy to do it well... Which is a travesty... or arrogant enough to think they can do a ripped off version of what every other decent brewery is already doing. Shame on you for the food and drink I just endured.
Love it. Cozy and out of the straight heat.
Amazing service! The barbecue menu is good, no pit beans anymore! The Mac and cheese, potato salad, coleslaw and bean salad are great! Sausages delicious - Amazing homemade sauces! Meat is smoked in house.. Fair pricing. Outdoor seating and large comfortable indoor seating. Many guest beer taps and very friendly, approachable staff. Good cider! Hot sauce is amazing.. they forgot about my order and I waited 30 minutes for my food and went up and asked about it :( but shortly after they made it and delivered it to my table and apologized and gave me a free beer!! Awesome guys! Ooh! Tipping isn t an option here as the staff automatically get paid more. Huge production in back of house for beer!
Good crafted beer and excelent services.
Love the space. Its huge. The patio is nice and fresh. Wonderful selection of beers right now - better than last time. The pita is amazing. The tortillas amazing. The spinach dip is too mayonnaisey for me. Have had some of the BBQ before. Seems expensive to me. But is good food. And great service and great beer. Will be back.
Excellent ribs, brisket and BEER !!!
Amazing staff and fantastic beers and food thank you so much what a wonderful date night it was!!!
Their blueberry beer is on point, fruity without being sweet. I love their new look inside, the postmodern vibe feels like a cool, jazzy evening
Great beer!!
I love the candied bacon ,and beer is always great lol .
I used to really like this place but the quality of the food has gone downhill. Bbq is really dry, need to get more humidity into their smoker.
Best IPA in the tri-cities and good food too!! My goto poco brewery. Added bonus is the dog friendly patio.
Worst pro bbq Ive ever had. The kitchen didnt care on a Tuesday night. Bottom of the basket fries, small pieces. Never seen anything like it. Coleslaw was bland and poorly chopped. Brisket was dry despite copious sauce. Beer was ok. I normally wouldnt even mention sides had the bbq not been an affront to all things holy. Staff was very nice. $30, with Tip. Left most of it on the plate.
Great selection of beer and amazing food! Got the platter of all mains and sides and it was an amazing deal. Will be going back and enjoying again! The chicken skin was nice and crispy just like I like it. Only downfall was the ribs werent fall off bone ribs. Meat was a bit tough. But still really tasty.
beer
Beer was great! Bristol, pulled pork, and fries are amazing!!
Fantastic food great staff friendly atmosphere
One of my FAVORITE breweries in the lower mainland. Not only do they have amazing beers through all seasons, they make some of the best BBQ Ive had. I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try! You will NOT regret it.
Super friendly laid back hang out for BBQ and beers. Good food, some vegetarian options. Love the brussel sprouts and ribs . The corn bread is good, too but, like some popular menu items, often run out fast. Wish they made more! Also, would be nice to have larger plates so everthing fits in, easier to eat. Indoor and outdoor seating with distancing and barriers.
