2883 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam, BC V3B 6A9, Canada
Absolutely love this place! Food is great. And their services are amazing as well!
Very good food, very good presentation and very polite staff. Despite a little pricey, we still like the food here. The menu was complicated and had no picture, they promised they will come up with a new menu soon, hope it happens.
If you want fresh sashimi and sushi in Port Coquitlam this is definitely the spot to be at. The sockeye salmon sashimi was fresh and delicious and presentation here is excellent making the whole experience very enjoyable. The California roll and spicy salmon rolls were equally enjoyable. If you come at lunch you can get lunch portions at a reasonable price. For the price point it definitely is a must try.
Kosho Sushi is a littlest treasure out in Port Coquitlam. Beautifully prepared and inventive sushi and sashimi at reasonable prices. I was very pleased with my meal at Kosho.
This should really be a fine dining restaurant. Exceptional food and service. What more can I say? Lots, apparently. Every dish is carefully crafted, not just thrown together. There was a remote-controlled light buried in the ice to high light the sashimi, and the server showed us all the different combinations to the delight of everyone, especially my 6 year old grandson. We're very surprised when we were presented with deep fried ice cream. Delicious. Food is key, but for me, service is always the lock that makes the meal. All the servers waited on all the tables. There was never an empty plate on the table and if the food was ready the first available server brought it. That is what makes a first class restaurant, first class. I will always go back.
Last man eating… In the area picking up something from a customer and options for a bite was dwindling down. Finally decided for a revisit to this place which I haven’t been to for years. Inside is one of those smaller cozy place; clean, typical and nothing too fancy. I was glad the server seated me on a bigger table instead one of those midget size ones. The server informed me they have a Tri-city special set menu for $35, quick glanced and I opted out on that. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Miso soup (complimentary). Pretty basic but thank you, nice to have a hot soup to warm up to from the cold. 2. Appetizer tempura. Pretty basic and as it should be. 3. Oyster motoyaki. I was glad they were on the shell but didn’t know it’s their own version of it; cold, marinated with cold pan fried onions on top. The cold oysters didn’t really do it for me. Is it really that hard to find just the basic fresh oyster motoyaki baked with Japanese mayo anywhere? lol 4. Foie gras nigiri. Okay this is one of those must order item from here. Loved how the way it is put together and seared. Rich, buttery and creamy that literally melts in your mouth. Very nice! 5. Spider roll. A little bit too basic, could be more generous on the soft shell crab. 6. Saba shio yaki. It was okay, pretty straightforward dish. 7. Assorted sashimi. It was okay, the Akami could be a better cut. 8. Chopped scallops, uni, amaebi nigiris. The chopped scallop was fresh, the uni was a generous amount, I like how the amaebi head was prepared so easier to eat. 9. Albacore toro, Akami, chu toro. The albacore toro was a bit dry, the Akami was fresh, the chu toro just make it to the satisfactory level (as you can tell it lost some of its beautiful colour already). The restaurant is conveniently located on the corner of Lougheed Hwy and Shaughnessy Street in Port Coquitlam. There are plenty of free parkings in the plaza. Inside the restaurant offers a causal comfortable dining atmosphere. The food was okay, could be better in some departments, but overall satisfactory level. As for the service, the staffs here were very friendly and welcoming. And quite accommodating to me being the last person left munching away (sorry over stayed 10mins after closing)
A very pleasant lunch! It’s a small place but tidy and clean inside. We tried the dim sum menu - everything was tasty and well presented. Chef walked by and greeted to us friendly. Aside of presentation, the sashimi tasted better as it was served on ice but that was a big bowl of ice. :) The portion for kids meal is quite generous!
I LOVE this place so much! I’ve been here a lot of times, and each time I’ve had a wonderful experience. Food is beautifully presented, service is exceptional, place is cozy and spotlessly clean, and most importantly the food tastes AMAZING!🍣 It’s always fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Their menu features variety of dishes that are creative and innovative. Whenever I want some sushi, this place is the first one that comes to my mind. I can’t wait to go back and have some more!😍
I worked at lots of Japanese restaurants all over Canada for all most 15years. I just found my go spot whenever I come to Port Coquitlam. Hands down If you are sushi lover, won t be disappointed here. Food
Excellent food , great service, reasonable prices. Definitely worth going for sushi and other dishes.
Excellent authentic sushi! A hidden gem, will definitely be back!
My family and I dined there. We loved the service, quality of ingredients and a fair price for what we ordered. I tried the $35 special and it was amazing. My new to go place from now on.
People / staff will make or break the experience. These folks are wonderful! The menu is awesome. The food is excellent! Just a GREAT spot! Go with confidence!
We love our server TPY, every time we come in she welcomes us with a big smile and provides the best service we ve ever had!! The chef always comes out and checks on the tables giving such a caring and comfortable environment. The most genuine owner/ chef. Must try the sushi tacos.
Excellent food coupled with great service! And to find it in such an out of the way place! Simply amazing!
Amazing sushi and sashimi, served in perfect form. Services was great and the staff were very friendly.
Good food. Great service. Definitely a sushi place we will come back. Celebrated family members birthday over a yummy dinner tonight. Sushi Taco is our favourite. We think food tastes even better at night.
The food is delicious and the service has always been great!
Kosho is my go to Japanese restaurant, food and service is amazing. I ordered Yosenabe is a must order seafood hotpot, full of seafood and veggie.
Amazing experience, great prices and very friendly staff. My new favourite Sushi restaurant
Ill go there again and again if I can. :)
Staff are amazing, everyone is extremely friendly and thoughtful. Frank is a great chef who never seems to have a bad day, every dish is created with the utmost respect for its eater. I wish everyone here nothing but the best and I hope Kosho sushi remains a staple in PoCo for years to come. The sushi is likely the best in the lower mainland, although I dont explore downtown much I have been to hundreds, if not thousands of sushi places. Every aspect of the restaraunt is well thought out, whether it is high chairs and plates for kids, private quiet corner booth, or a busy long table you can do it all here. Drink choices are excellent, food choices are excellent and their sashimi is always high quality. I have absolutely nothing but praise for this restaraunt, and they have a loyal customer in me and my family. Please go in, sit down and enjoy your evening with loved ones. You will not be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: They love little ones!
Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Great food. Fair prices.
As always, the quality of food and service are good.
Excellent service, delicious sushi!
Most of the food was just so so. The omakase nigiri was good, I would recommend that one.
Such a lovely spot, great ambiance and the service was prompt and polite. The food was fresh and creative. Our server TPY was so lovely and was very attentive.
Amazing sushi restaurant in Port Coquitlam. Quite possibly the best dynamite roll I have ever had. So many different options and rolls, and everything was fresh, delicious, and quick. Friendly staff, and great all-in-all experience. Even got to meet the chef, and they took a photo of my food! Definitely check this restaurant out!
Updated: I just received an email saying we received a full refund and that is so appreciated. I cannot express enough the welcoming atmosphere that was illustrated. I hope we can come back and have a better experience !!! I feel terrible making a not great review because the service was quick and the workers seemed very friendly & kind. We decided to try a new sushi place & chose this due to the high reviews but are quite disappointed. The vegetables in the teriyaki were not of decent quality & the chicken was fatty, chewy & gummy, the gyozas tasted ok but were greasy, the miso was bland, and the gomae was terrible. The inari nigiri & rice were the only edible foods out of the whole order.
A quiet quaint place that packs a punch with the food. It is a hole-in-the-wall place that serves the freshes and most tender fish. Id recommend the omakase sushi. This is worth the trip and money to go out here. The fish to rice ratio is crazy. The warm dishes like scallop risotto, chicken rice club house and stuffed shitake has a a great fushion twist on Japanese flavours. Everything is worth trying and eating. Always my go to even for summer, with their new menu and fresh products. I am in love. Id sell my left leg to eat here everyday.
Discover new restaurants, It is a Japanese cuisine that amazes us. Fresh and delicious ingredients
Love this place, the presentation of the dishes is appealing and the tuna sashimi is excellent
Kosho is for me one of the Best places to eat in Port Coquitlam, the food is fresh!! The serving is well plated, the taste is delicious! The staff is great and the Chef is Amazing!! Location has plenty of parking space, even the bathrooms are clean! I always look into that , the place overall is cozy! Excellent Service and food!!
My normal go to place. Best in Port Coquitlam in my opinion. Recommend their sashimi, sunomono and spicy charashi don.
Food was delicious but the spicy sashimi had creamy based sauce which didnt agree with me. Otherwise a good selection of food and good service.
In this restaurant you can close your eyes and put your finger on an item on the menu and you will enjoy that food. The best sushi restaurant I have ever experienced.
Very good place. The food was very fresh and tasty and the atmosphere was very cozy. Overall a great place and will visit again soon. Would recommend.
Very friendly atmosphere with good food and reasonable prices, highly recommended.
Excellent, high quality sushi and other Japanese food, in a casual and well priced setting. The food here is top notch in quality and presentation. The service is incredible, they are so kind and accommodating. We were served by Katherine and she was the best. I live in Seattle and youd have to go to an expensive, fancy sushi restaurant to obtain sushi of this quality. I recommend trying some of their aburi oshi here, its excellent.
We came here yesterday and had an amazing experience. The food was incredibly delicious especially the sushi tacos. I love how extensive the menu is, theres a lot of things Im excited to try when we come back. The staff were attentive and friendly. Its our new favourite sushi restaurant in poco! 10/10 recommend.
The service is very good, the tonkatsu is really delicious, and the sushi is also available Parking: Although there are not many parking spaces, there are locations Kid-friendliness: There are non-spicy udon noodles for children
YOU CAN STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT TO EAT NOW! EAT HERE!!! Went at a busy time and still was given timely quality service None of the sushi was off, everything was top notch and tasted very fresh. Someone suggested the fois gras in another review comment- i second that. DELICIOUS. The uni was very fresh ! Topped it off with a nice cold asahi beer I only got 1 picture because it was so good i ate it before thinking about it. i had kampachi nigiri for the first time! With hamachi, uni, salmon, and tuna nigiri all very well cut and very fresh. I had a seared tuna roll and agedashi tofu a week which if i have any criticism at all the batter on the tofu was slightly gummy but still very tasty. My favorite sushi place in coquitlam closed and i think i found my preferred sushi place again
Delicious food, Exceptional service Oyster Motoyaki California Rrolls Kosho Aburi Crispy Chicken Teriyaki Totally worth visiting again. Better to resreve on a weekday dinner too. This place is so popular. Congrats Kosho staff for amazing work & care.
Good taste
The owner and chef is fantastic. The staff are incredibly respectful. The food is phenomenal
Visited Kosho for dinner for the first time and was impressed. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Were looking forward to returning soon.
Good
Real sushi run by Japanese chef. Food
Some really creative twists on sushi, excellent attentive service, and the head chef did the rounds a couple of times to say hello.
Its delicious and the servers are very friendly.
Their tri-cities dine-out menu is but honestly, so is their everyday menu
Decent food but the dine in experience was completely ruined. The second we finished our food we were given the bill and handed the machine to pay. There was no one waiting for the table nor was the restaurant full. Will not be returning for that reason alone.
Such a wonderful little Sushi restaurant. We went on a Sunday afternoon and tried a bunch of items from their Dim Sum style menu. We loved the fun plating and the food was excellent! Our lovely server Katherine made our first time here amazing! Even the chef came and asked how the food was. We will definitely be back!
We love kosh sushi. The staff are very kind and attentive (they recognize and know regulars by name!), food - especially the salmon and saba aburi oshi tastes great, and they have gluten free items noted on their menu. My sister is celiac, and they are familiar with gf/celiac needs and have told us several times that Chef Frank can try to make the other items gf too! Ty so much Kosh team! Dietary restrictions: Familiar with celiac/gf needs. Gluten free items are noted on menus, they provide gf soy sauce unprompted, and offer to make other items gf if they can (and they know to check sneaky items like seemingly innocent ice cream).
The older lady who works here is very kind, funny, and witty. The presentation, price, and potions of everything here was good. I would definitely come back. They have a large menu so tons of items to try each time. The sushi tacos here are unique from other restaurants. I would highly recommend the uni taco and the negi maguro. I thought the oyster Motoyaki was okay. It came with spinach and sliced onions, and cheese. I personally wouldn t order it again. I generally like mine with mayo, cheese, lime, and cubed mushrooms and or cubed onions. The Beef Tenderloin & Foie Gras Aburi Oshi was okay, I could personally do without the foie gras as I m not a fan. We ordered the assorted sashimi which was good, as well as the Kosho Aburi Roll
Amazing, I m from Langley and just being in the area to googling great sushi near me, I see there star reviews and quickly looked at the menu to see they had sushi taco s that had me sold - apon arrival we where given a choice of a dim som lunch menu tapas style small portions which was perfect so we went for that - tried a little bit of this and that and we where full ! The sever was so welcoming and informative - the chef has a write up on the wall - and what a lifelong of accomplishments, as well very friendly and wished us well on our way out (my partner had to go say hello and chatted for a couple minutes ) over all such a humbling experience ! Thank you we will be back!
Best sushi in the greater vancouver area. Food is always exceptional and the new dishes are always innovative! a forever favourite :)
A real sushi restaurant run by a Japanese owner. A place where you can eat rare Chu Toro nigiri.
Phenomenal service and friendly staff.
Ramen is SOOO GOOD!
They are so friendly and the food is great. Especially for lunch, the dim sum menu is relatively inexpensive and its great because you can try a variety of foods!
Stopped with our toddler around 130pm. We ordered a few items, some off their dim sum style menu, and some off their main menu, including the omakase and were very happy with what we received. Fish was very fresh and we received a great variety. At the end of our meal we did order one more item and they whipped it up so quickly. By this point the restaurant is completely empty, but the staff offered us ice cream on the house as we were getting up to leave. Who can say no to free ice cream? We stayed and enjoyed it, while the waitress kindly told our toddler to take his time. We said our final thank yous and happened to glance at their hours on our way out. They work a split shift and had already been closed for about 30 min by the time we left at 3pm. This was entirely our fault for not noting the hours on the way in, but every one on the staff was so incredibly kind and gracious, we never would have known had we not just happened to look at their hours on the window when we left. Will absolutely be back, this is our new favourite sushi place.
Food is good . If you want major gas , eat the chicken yacki udon . I couldn t stop firing biscuits for 24 hours after I had that , but it was worth it
Some of the nicest people and food is amazing and authentic.
Wow! Tried this restaurant last night and it was an amazing experience! the staff were so friendly and nice, the food was unique and tasted great, we had sushi taco, salmoncano which was torched salmon on avocado like a volcano some special rolls and fried squid , plus the ice cream tempura at the end was fantastic! Highly recommended
My food was wonderful, though the rest of the group had mixed reviews. I recommend trying the fusion dishes over traditional Japanese dishes.
We made reservations for omakase and it was excellent! Fresh and so tasty. Servers were extremely efficient and friendly thank you ! Our favourite local Japanese. We can t wait to go back!
The restaurant is a bit awkward. The location doesnt fit the price range of the food, but the food is good. Only thing I thought was a bit lacking was the service. For the prices they are charging, the service is the same or worse than many restaurants that are cheaper. One of the staff told me they were just cleaning a table for me. I sat and waited as more people left and staff were casually strolling around. I ended up leaving without being checked on once after 15 minutes.
They really make it feel like having dinner at a close friends home. Food is definitely made with love and care
Just the best sushi in town!
The food and atmosphere is excellent! We got sashimi, nigiri and some rolls. We also ordered the uni tacos and the chef seemed excited to serve them to us and mentioned they were one of his favourites and they tasted delicious! We will definitely be coming back!
High quality food served with passion! All the seafood was super fresh. The chef served us the Uni sushi tacos personally and it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and I can t recommend this place enough. 10/10!
I had a very pleasant experience at this Japanese restaurant. Me and my friend decided to give this place a try and we were quite delighted with the food. We ordered a few sushi rolls. The salmon oshi roll was quite good and reminded me of the oshi rolls they have at Miku and Green Leaf. The Aburi scallop roll and Kosho aburi roll were both really tasty. They both had an excellent flavour and the rice had a good tasting consistency of superb rice which made the plate come together. Good quality scallops and fish used. Lastly the Special Kyrie Roll with no rice. It was an interesting take on no rice sushi and the flavours were good. The crab had excellent flavour but I think I prefer rice with my sushi. Overall we had a good experience, I would come back and try their bento boxes as they have a lunch special going on. Worth a visit and a lunch! Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Many options Parking: Free parking lot in the mall centre
The restaurant staff are all so friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful family dinner here. All the food was 5 stars in my books as you could tell they use quality ingredients. I would recommend anyone who wants a great experience and tasty food to come dine here. Sophie went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed everything.
Its location is convenient but the atmosphere is not great. Food is ok but I think you can get better sushi somewhere else if you are willing to pay the same price.
The restaurant staff are all so friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful family dinner here. All the food was tasty in my books as you could tell they use quality ingredients. I would recommend anyone who wants a great experience and tasty food to come dine here.
Delicious sushi that is incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. You leave satisfied but not too full from too much rice. The service is also amazing, everyone here is so warm and friendly.
The BEST sushi in the tricities (coming from a Japanese person/avid sushi lover). You must try the tempura ice cream and the Sashimi Salad roll was incredible too. If you love ramen, you ll most likely slurp up the entire bowl. It s rich in flavour yet light on the tummy. Very excited to have them a few blocks from home!! Yumyummmmm
Really good hole in the wall. Upscale tuna options. Try the sushi tacos as much better than then sound. Deep fried ice cream was nice touch as well. Always great service a plus.
Huge variety in the menu with lots of interesting dishes. The staples are all there and really tasty. The staff was very courteous and funny. Will definitely come back even though we dont live close by, worth the travel.
One of the best sushies I have tried!
Food is super delicious. Great quality and very well prepared. Staff is lovely. Overall a fantastic culinary experience. 100% recommend
Nice staff! Ordered Tray A and just it bored me with all those California Rolls! Not sure if go there anymore but definitely won t try any Tray! Great Sake though!
Amazing food. We used to live in the vancouver area and moved away to Kelowna. My wife s family lives in port moody so when we come back to visit we only get sushi from here. You can t find better Japanese food. The aburi is the best in town. Chicken karage is unreal. I can t say better things about this place. The Owner, Frank, is awesome.
Superb, very comprehensive menu, quality product and very good service
Just passing through and tried this sushi for the first time. It was rather disappointing. If you know what good sushi should taste like, you ll not enjoy this. The rice is bland and has a hard texture. The salmon had a weird aftertaste, didn t seem very fresh. Avocado roll was ok, but plain. The aburi oshi sushi was the worst. It wasn t torched properly and the sauce had a weird, chemical aftertaste. I would not come here again as there are much better restaurants in the area. For the amount I spent, I can get yummy sushi elsewhere.
We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop for a quick snack. This place did not disappoint. The crunchy sushi tacos are out of this world amazing. Its the perfect combination of tasty sushi, rice and crunch. I also had the sashimi. The presentation was awesome and the sashimi was very cold as I prefer it. To top it all off, the cleanliness and friendly service was the icing on the cake. We will definitely return and the tacos will certainly be on our menu of choices. I cant wait to try all the different types of tacos.
Great sushi place and service was awesome.
I am so glad that I found this amazing sushi place. Chef s special sashimi was my favorite. Most of other sushi places, they include those cheap tuna and salmon even though it s special and pricey but Kosho sushi theirs was different. Every pieces were so nice and fresh. I was impressed about their variety of fishes. Not only the food was good their service was another level. My server, Korean lady was so friendly and professional. I definitely wanna go back to try their Omakase soon.
The food absolutely delicious and service above average. Thanks.
Good food. Nice choices. Great service. Lots of parking. Accessible to public transportation. Food
We ordered party tray B. The portion was enough for 3-4 people. It was tasty, but I wish the party tray had more variety. As you can see from the picture, most of the rolls look similar. Maybe change some of the rolls to maki so the party tray has more variety.
Servers were friendly and caring, chef Sam came out to greet and make sure everything was satisfactory. There was an excellent selection of items on the menu. Prices were reasonable and quality was great. Will definitely come again!
Fun selection of creative original dishes. Tasteful decor. Booths offer a lot a privacy.
Luv the food here but it s is the priciest of all sushi places in Poco with gyoza at $9, edamame $7.. so can t afford this treat any more :(
This restaurant is one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. I ve only been here twice with my family, but enjoyed it the two times I ve been here. There are many selections of fish, different rolls, and also great dessert. The servers are also very enthusiastic and make great recommendations. The rolls are great quality with fresh fish, but my favourite is the Chef s Choice Sashimi. It is such great quality with many different varieties. In the future, I can t wait to eat here more!!
Super fresh and delicious Japanese. The perfect mix of traditional style and creativity. Super personable service, as well.
First time here and I really enjoyed the presentation and taste - with the exception of the sashimi (we got the chefs choice and I was expecting it to be way better) it was super slimy and fishy than usual. Aburi sushi was delicious with the texture of the rice. We got the salmon and saba - would get that again. One of the better rolls was the dragon roll! Had the perfect amount of rice and was filled with tempura and imitation crab. Tacos is a good thing to try if you don t like sushi to be too saucy. Would come back to try different dishes.
The best tuna sashimi!
Lots of free parking.
This place is bomb and reasonably priced for good quality sushi. Menu is extensive cant wait to go back and eat in
Best sushi place in the Tri-cities!
Excellent sushi, service and atmosphere! Great sushi place indeed.
Good food and amazing service. Lots of unique dishes along with the classics. Delicious! We can wait to come back for more. Food : 5/5
So good. Micro menus.
really great place!! everything was excellent. very lovely presentation of the food and the service is super friendly :)
Great Japanese restaurant! Excellent service and amazing food!
Both the food and service were excellent! Been here a couple times now and it s always fun and fresh. Hope to see our server sophie next time too, she s great.
Kosho sushi is seriously my top 3 favorite sushi places in metro Vancouver. I personally think it s even better than some popular places like Miku or minami. Kosho has some creative high quality fusion dishes but also regular food which meets almost all customers needs. Even I only had one week back to Vancouver, I made sure to definitely come to Kosho. Lobster/tenderloin foie gras/sockeye salmon aburi oshi, scallop risotto, truffle tempura, chicken karage are what I order every time. This time we also tried their new abalone dish - cooked perfectly not chewy and has a little smoky taste. Kosho is a hidden gem in poco that I recommend to all my friends and would recommend to everyone who appreciates decent and original Japanese food. Looking forward to my next time back to kosho and excited to try more of their new dishes!
Very delicious food and amazing service!!! 5 stars!!!
Taco sushi was interesting, not particularly fond of the katsu curry and on the expensive side. Currently has 0 incentive to go back
It looks like a place run by Chinese people, but the food was good and they were friendly.
Great service and food
Food was awesome! The quality of sashimi was really fxxking good.
Great sushi, kind staff and cozy atmosphere! We go to this place at least once a month and absolutely love their salmon donburi and Alaska roll!
Wonderful place. Very good sushi. I cannot recommend the Las Vegas roll enough, it is a must try. I just get take out here although the dining area does seem pretty cool and lively. Great place to check out if you like sushi.
Very impressive Japanese restaurant including the food quality, chef, waitress. Very happy can taste real Japanese food in Poco. Sure will go back again.
Shasmi are very fresh and delicious. Price reasonable, staff are very friendly.
Fun friendly and great quality Sushi
Great food and service and variety you dont find at other sushi restaurants
The food was delicious and the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The sushi came quickly and everything was great. The takoyaki is amoung the best Ive had. Pictures are aburi scallop roll, assorted sashimi platter and takoyaki. The pork gyoza and prawn tempura maki are also great.
The individuals that work here are the nicest people you will ever meet. So kind and courteous. The food is delicious. Standard sushi but also creative dishes. Fast service. Clean interior. Love it here! Dietary restrictions: I have a nut allergy and they were very kind and cautious regarding it.
Best and always fresh! Service is awesome as well as the owner. Also my parents and my friends favourite place :)
Fantastic ramen and very friendly staff.
Modern and cozy dining area with high walled booths. Extensive menu choices with creative & inventive options. Japanese beer bottles, and on tap. Attentive and eager staff, who were so polite they didnt even kick us out until they were literally ready to walk out the door. Would totally go back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options marked on menu.
Amazing food with amazing service! The fish was so fresh and the rolls and ramen were delicious! Sophie gave such great service and always kept us happy and left us with a smile on our face!.
This place has a very friendly staff and their tuna sushi roll is a knockout!!!
Katherine was our server, she was lovely and so fast! As always, everything was delicious. This place is a must try!!!
Really unique rolls and menu! Great service too :)
The servers were friendly and prompt; the inside was clean, modern, and thoughtfully decorated; and, of course, the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the aburi oshi rolls, which is their speciality, and it definitely shows. The beef tenderloin and fois gras melted on our tongue. We ended up ordering another one because it was so good. Would recommend trying out their aburi rolls at least once!
That is the best in Port Coquitlam
The BEST
Haohaoshi lunch Haobaishi box Yijiashi Japanese food Zhongpingguo Chinese Vietnamese Vietnamese noodles
Dine in available with screens and spaced out booths. Some vegetarian options and gluten free friendly. Delicious specialties in addition to usual fair: Foie gras, wagyu beef, uni. Particularly enjoyed the sushi tacos made with fried wonton shells; the stuffed shiitake and scallop risotto . Very thoughtful dishes and service overall.
One of the better sushi places that Ive been too. This sushi place is at a weird location, where its vibe seems to stand out. The dishes we had is top-notch tastiness. The chef is also really friendly to interact with us. Will definitely visit this place again.
The best sushi tacos I ve tasted! They had a good variety of food choices. The Kosho Aburi Roll was fantastic as their sashimis! Amazing service by the servers and the chef, Frank Yoshiharu Kondo.
The price is too expensive, the rolls are loose, the batter of the fried food is too thick and does not match the sauce, the ingredients are poor, not fresh enough, and even the dishes are bitter. There was no follow-up after complaining to the staff. I will not go there again.
Great no rice roll options if you are looking for calories wise Sushi
Great healthy options, very respectful and kind service :)
Insanely good.
Fantastic service, amazing food! This is our go to sushi and Japanese food place. Probably go at least once or twice a week .sometimes more Dietary restrictions: No rice rolls and brown rice! Amazing
It was a wonderful surprise for us. We have been looking for authentic Japanese sushi since we traveled back from Japan, and finally, we found it here. The tuna melted in our mouths, and the chief came out and greeted everyone once a while. We have decided this will be our place for dates and for remembering our trip to Japan.
I m not big on Sushi, but the rest of the gang loved everything they ve gotten, especially the healthy, less carby options!
I just had to leave a review after experiencing Kosho sushi for the first time! The food was incredible and so fresh! The service was amazing! Our whole experience was really good! Thank you so much kosho and we will see you soon for another great dining experience!
Great food, great service. Very much recommended
We go here consistently every week because the staff are so inviting & personable, shout out to Sophie! The food is always incredibly made and the menu is creative, always something new to try with amazing plating. The menu is robust without going out of the chefs wheelhouse, so anything you could order is going to be amazing & filling. The alcohol selection is also fantastic. This is the kind of place Id bring any out of town friend to show them real Vancouver sushi.
We have been getting food here every Thursday for just over a year now. Easily the best food, people, atmosphere you could ask for. Everything on their menu is amazing, and made with the utmost care. The flavors are rich and the plating is beautiful. The staff is kind and attentive, the owner Frank is phenomenal and deeply invested in making sure every customer has the best experience they can. I couldnt ask for a better place to go to and I wholeheartedly encourage you too as well. I dont really leave reviews but if you so much is stumble across this one please trust me and just go to Kosho at least once. You will not regret it.
The texture and taste of the sushi are very good, I will try something else next time! Parking: Parking at the door, very convenient
Amazing food, spectacular service. One of the best sushi restaurants I ve ever been to.
It was my first time visit yesterday. The sole reason I ve want to visit this place is that Kosho has Futomaki. I m not a big fan of roll, however, one roll I always want is Futomaki. I ordered Futomaki along with Uni nigiri and hokkegai nigiri. Futomaki was great, exactly what I imagined. Uni is very delicate, and would be very bad tasting if it is not fresh. Kosho served very fresh Uni, it was creamy, rich, and sweet! Most of sushi restaurants serve hokkegai, but I found them tasteless, felt like chewing rubber. Kosho s hokkegai has all the flavours, it s own sweetness. I need to mention that Kosho has the perfect sushi rice. It has balance of sweet and sourness. My husband ordered a couple dishes too but I was too busy enjoying my food, also for the same reason, there is no pictures.
Food came fast, service was amazing they re very attentive. The restaurant was cute Salmon aburi was the best Wheelchair accessibility: Access from parking lot was big, in between isles was spacious
Food didnt sit well after our meal. Sushi was mushy, rice was surprisingly sandy textured. Was hard to flag for service, as they dont keep a long eye contact to the dining room (more of a glance and go)
Thought wed try a new place to eat Ramen and Kosho did not disappoint. Although they only have two types of ramen options, and my husband and I got both, they were still outstanding. They also had a DimSum menu which was filled with their dishes but in smaller sizes so you could try lots of stuff for cheaper. We definitely enjoyed getting our goto sushi orders but it was nice in the smaller sets. Definitely will be coming back here again.
Simply the best place to eat sushis in yhe tri cities in my humble opinion. Nothing can compare to that place. The chef is taking great pride in making his beautiful presentations and will take time to come and have a chat with his customers. You pay for quality and quantity. A must go.
Super friendly, excellent food! They were so nice and brought us free ice cream at the end.
Kosho is what you really call a hidden gem. The food is so fresh and delicious. The plating and atmosphere is great, the service was phenomenal.
The missus and I were in thea area and craved some Japanese food. Kosh didnt disappoint!! We ordered the Ankimo, Sockeye Aburi oshi, and the Scallop Risotto. We ordered the TNT roll (not dynamite) after. The Ankimo was very much like froie gras, very nice composition! Ive not seen my wife go through Aburi sushi so fast. Their rice is soft and tender. The Scallops in the Scallop Risotto are seared to perfection, and theres a nice cracker that came with it too! The TNT roll had nice crisp tempura also! The service was excellent, checking in occasionally and making recommendations when asked. The executive chef also been personally checking in, hes clearly very invested in the success of this restaurant so very excited to visit next time Im in the area!
If you are seeking an exceptional dining experience where incredible food, impeccable service, and a passionate owner come together, look no further than Kosho Sushi. It is a haven for food enthusiasts who appreciate the artistry of Japanese cuisine. Kosho Sushi undoubtedly deserves its reputation for providing an extraordinary culinary journey that will leave you craving more. This is, hands down, our favourite place to eat out.
We have recently discovered Kosho Sushi and what a find! We love Sashimi and wow, Kosho delivers! The Tuna, Sockeye Salmon and Hamachi are extremely fresh which I look for in a Sushi restaurant. There rolls are very creative and the Ramon is delicious! Undoubtably the best Sushi in the tri-cities!
Great experience. Staff was friendly. Fish was fresh and lost of variety which you generally dont find in other sushi restaurants.
This place is phenomenal, I ll leave it at that
Lovely place, friendly personel, great food. Love their sushi tacos
Absolutely loved the food. So delicately put together, meticulous, delicious and innovative. Loved the Lemon Tuna Roll and the Sashimi Food
Food and service always amazing.
Fresh sushi at reasonable price. Excellent sashimi cuts.
Great food and amazing service. We had popcorn sushi and sushi sandwich.... very tasty! 100% recommend.
Cozy and clean Japanese restaurant. The server was friendly and the food is very delicious. Ordered an Omakase lunch (chef s choice). The dish was beautifully plated and the there were two pieces of bluefin tuna which taste amazing. Their lunch specials were reasonably priced. Would love to come back and try out their other fancy rolls.
One of the best sushi restaurants Ive been to. Always fresh food and everyone is extremely friendly. Been consistently coming here since theyve opened!
Lunch sets available. Fair portion for the price. Interesting menu items available.
Our family really happy about this place, fresh rice, taste delicious, absolutely recommend
Still the best Sushi in all of the mainland. Try the new California aburi roll! Its amazing!
Most amazing sushi Ive had. The sashimi was so fresh and the servings very generous. Presentation and service were amazing. Highly recommended.
Excellent!
The food presentation is very pretty, food are quick and tasty. We like what we ordered
This place always makes me happy every time I go. A variety of menus, fresh sashimi, and reasonable prices are the best points of this restaurant. Also, the friendly staff and the owner are very impressive. This is a restaurant I highly recommend.
Excellent service and large portions. The food was very good, but the ice cream tempura was kind of disappointing. Highly recommend if youre looking for a good and not pricey sushi in PoCo.
Amazing food and great service. The wagu killer nigiri is well named it is just out of this world. Best sushi I have ever eaten.
Fresh, Good quality
High quality Japanese food ! One of the best in great Vancouver! Fresh food , clean area ,and reasonable price , I will definitely recommend everyone to come and try this restaurant.
We tried this Japanese restaurant after getting told from a friend that they have authentic cuisine from Japan. My experience in that country is that they prefer to show the flavour and quality of the main ingredient rather than make food for ketchup. I was not disappointed. This place is the real deal! I only eat sushi once a month or so, but this is my new favourite restaurant!
Consistently great.
Great spot for good quality sushi in the tri-cities. Loved the salmon aburi oshi and rainbow roll. Service was wonderful as well.
All I can say is AMAZING! Such great customer service and the freshest ingredients. No need to go anywhere else. Kosho Sushi is where its at!! Edit: ok, Im stuffed! This Teriyaki Chicken was unreal and the tempura was light and delicious.
Ive had better in the area. The quality was average but the 3 stars is for the price compared to the quality of sushi. I ordered pick up and i thought the 70$ spent wasnt very much food. I try not to review sushi places on take out but i only tried it the one time. Nothing wrong with the place but most likely will not go back.
Amazing food and service!!!
I really should have taken photos but was too busy eating delicious sushi! We ordered the takoyaki which was amazing and a couple of lunch boxes. The sushi tacos were a really tasty twist on a roll. And the sashimi was sooo fresh and satisfying.
Awesome place this my new go to sushi place
Variety of fresh Japanese food - taste is quite rich even it seems simple Japanese food!
Amazing kind, considerate, polite service, delicious food with quite big portions, cosy very clean place for dine in! Looks like the team really cares about their restaurant! Thank you! Will definitely return!
