Hidden gem in Port Coquitlam! We tried one of the lunch set menu as well as the fresh sashimi and aburi nigiri. Everything was flavourful!
The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and great service, our server was very on top of clearing empty plates and when I asked for more tea she got it right away. The food was absolutely delicious, so fresh and so beautifully presented. We ordered hells chicken to start, then I ordered the Dragon roll, Tiger roll, BC roll and California roll, while my date ordered one of the lunch specials. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to other venues, so there aren't really any pricing surprises if you order sushi regularly. You can tell it's a busy venue as there were several customers in the restaurant and a steady flow of customers picking up orders and this was a visit from 12-1pm to give reference, when the restaurant opens at 11:30am. Would definitely recommend going to Sushi On and will definitely come back 10/10.
Sushi On is a hidden gem among the thousands of sushi spots across the lower mainland! I was introduced to this place on a date night 6 years ago, and we're now happily married—this sushi spot has become a staple in our lives. We order from them once a month, and I've brought many family members to experience their incredible menu. The atmosphere is beautifully ambient, filled with positive energy that makes every visit special. My go-to rolls are The PoCo Lady roll and The Halloween roll—two flavors I’ll be ordering for the rest of my life. Sushi On is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place that holds cherished memories and continues to deliver excellence every time!
If you like rice rolled up and stuffed with things then this is the place for you! Also if you know how to use chopsticks is a plus but not mandatory. We had a basic sushi roll layout. Cali, teriyaki chicken and the classic dynamite. Standard decent rolls. Then came the Wild Wild West!! Hot Diggity Dog it was phenomenal. Presented really nice and clean. The torched salmon and avocado topping with sauce reminded me of the BBQ salmon my uncle used to make. Awesome Roll one of the best I have had. Definitely worth the trip. Restaurant super clean and staff were excellent. Cool vibe and modern decor completes the look.
It was a decent sushi place. Food was very fresh and good seasonings. Services were ok even if they made a wrong order this time. I liked the bright and tidy environment.
Staff were friendly and attentive. The decoration is new and modern. Food wise, presentation, taste and freshness are all pretty good. Nothing surprised/impressed me though. The price is on the higher end. Lunch combo can be ordered at dinner time with $3 extra.
Went here for the first time for dinner. Was recommended this sushi place so had to give it a try. Really nice atmosphere, super modern and clean. I appreciate receiving complimentary tea upon sitting down. Menu is large, something for everyone, easy to navigate also. I ended up starting with an appetizer. The deep fried spicy tofu, it was delicious. Then went for a few rolls. The spicy California roll, and an inari roll. Prices were fairly reasonable. Very fast service, food came in minutes. Everything tasted fresh and was well made. Would come back.
Overall food was fresh and tasty for the reasonable price point. Bento and wakame salad portions were a lot larger than I thought they would be which was a plus. Tempura was crispy, Cali rolls were good, miso was hot and fresh. Torched salmon was okay. One server came to check on us every once in a while and was quite pleasant and smiled a lot. The restaurant was pretty quiet and clean (smelled of cleaner when I walked in). Would recommend and would go back.
It offers a wide variety of sushi, including many vegetarian and cooked options. I highly recommend trying the spicy tempura, tiger roll, and crunchy dynamite roll! Fast service and very kind staff. They also offer tea, which I believe is made with corn and barley.
Me and my friend really wanted sushi, so we ordered from this place. Let me tell you we were so excited to eat sushi and when it came we started off with our miso soup. The miso for me was delicious but my friends had an awful smell and taste to it and it made her appetite go away. We then ate our gyoza s and they were deep fried which was weird because usually they come non-deep fried. I took a bite and it had some weird slimy stuff in them and we got pork gyozas so it was a weird texture to it to eat. We ate our sushi rolls after and they tasted off. We wished we ordered from a different place.
Used to be worth the $100, 2-3 times per year but... Order wasnt ready until 25 minutes after the scheduled pickup time (i.e. entire family sitting in car for 30 minutes). Ten minutes after leaving the kitchen, soggy spring rolls found floating in salad dressing spillover from the adjacent compartment (i.e. packaging liquids with dry food to save $0.10 and time packaging dressing in a separate container). This was busy, prime time so corners were being cut but not something youd want to pay $100 for and not something youd expect from a business that has been in operation for so long.
I m so glad I found this sushi place. The food is amazing and the staff really to work hard to keep you happy. They are always running around but, still manage to provide excellent service. I m a regular here now. Dinner time can be really busy, especially with the take out orders.
Aside from tonights delivery order, I have always had great food from Sushi On. Maybe tonight was an off night being a busy Saturday, but the Chicken Karaage appetizer we ordered seem to be all fat dark meat. Not so good.
Always excellent food quality and service! Great selection of unique and delicious vegetarian options too! Vegetarian options: A whole section on the menu with their vegetarian options, as well as appetizers and such labeled on the menu as well. No lack of choice here for the veggies! Parking: If out front is full theres always plenty in the back!
Great rolls!
Food quality is how it should be no corners cut here
My girlfriend and I went there on Monday, but we were really disappointed with the food quality. On top of that, my girlfriend was even more upset because of the server s attitude. Hopefully, they ll improve their service.
I love the food here. Delicious . I order mainly take outs. Food
Food is always fresh and yummy. Highly recommend the spicy salmon sashimi and the pork or chicken katsu. The miso soup here is better than most places and the rolls are good as well. Delivery is quick and I would recommend dining in as well.
I think that competitors are purposefully underrating this restaurant! Because this is incredible food, a very atmospheric place, incredible service! The food is simply fantastic! I came 10 years ago from Europe, where I lived all my life, and I was looking for really delicious sushi for a very long time! And this place is not only the best in Coquitlem, its the best sushi in Vancouver, and maybe even in Canada!!!!
Sushi was just ok. There are better sushi places in Coquitlam.
Delicious food for a great price, good portions, fantastic service, all sever is here so kind. Gozilla roll was the best.
Quality has gone down. See picture of 18$ roll. It took a hour to get my order and food was cold. I had to call them to inquire about my order not arriving not the other way around.
Great sushi place locally. I have been here a couple of times, and both times had great experience. Sushi was fresh, and kids loved the teriyaki chicken.
Absolutely brilliant. I pass other sushi places to get to SushiOn. Worth it.
Really good sushi everytime Vegetarian options: Lots Food : 5/5 |
I ordered chicken yaku udon, and it was too sweet.
My favourite spot!
Yummy
We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed, but they gave us time to look at the menu and they were really nice even though we were very late they are very understanding and the food is awesome!
Best Sushi place I have ever been to. They have too many options. I tried the Sunomono soup for the first time and it was delicious. They also serve fresh hot barley tea when you dine in. I have ordered from here multiple times and have always loved it.
Best sushi!! This is our favourite go to place since accidentally finding it on uber eats.
Always so fresh and delicious , dine in and take out! Have never had anything we didn t enjoy! Ordered a big order for the family and everything was awesome Food
Says they close at 9:30, confirmed so in person when I walked in at 9:03 to order one item for take out. They turned me away and said last call was at 9. There wasn t a single person in there, plenty of time to make one roll in 30 minutes. Might as well change your closing time to 9pm.
I go to Sushi On quite a bit, and I ve been debating writing this review (because I tend to be pretty chill and write positive reviews) but I feel like it must be addressed to improve. The food has always been good and the staff are nice (that isn t an issue) . But the service has been on the decline recently, in my opinion. I m well aware that food service times may vary based on busy times, but that s also not why I m writing this. The last 3 times I ve ordered take out, I ve left disappointed. First time: Was told it would be a 30 minute wait, ended up being an hour. It was busy on a weekend, I understand, not the end of the world. Second time: Told it would be 20 minutes, ended up being 45 minutes. Not incredibly busy and it was just a lunch box. Third time (last night): Restaurant isn t that busy (only 30-40%ish filled) and I only ordered a dinner box. What really bothered me, was when I showed up to pickup, I was told: Just 1 minute, they re just FINISHING packing it up! 20 minutes later, it comes out. Miso soup and Tempura is barely warm, because clearly they forgot one piece of the box and the other items were sitting. Again, I like this place and like this food, but the inconsistent wait times and having to make the servers tell me just 2 more minutes 5 different times is a bad look. Really hope it improves!
The spicy sashimi and negatoro maki is excellent. Very good service as well.
The food was great, everything wad fresh and came fast. Our waiter was... well bellow average, but he couldnt spoil the experience for us. Food
Love their nigiri and chopped scallop roll. Fresh ingredients!
Everything ordered did not disappoint. Their specialty roll with prawn tempura inside was still crispy, which ive noticed not a lot of sushi restaurants do. Negitoro roll was amazing. Would come again!
Absolutely Terrible experience Super slow, impolite staff I can t believe it can take someone so long to prepare a small order. They refuse to look at the big things let alone minute details Restaurant was dirty Table was unattended for over 10 mins Food was served like they were doing a favour on me by almost banging it on the table And aftet all of this they demand a tip Tip for what?? Them being so unprofessional and horrible to the customers Would never recommend to anyone
Great food...service could be better
Just recently started coming to this restaurant. I have been pleasantly surprised by the speed and quality of the food, the staff are remarkably friendly and its a joy to eat here!
My hubby and mines favourite sushi place in the Tri-Cities. Consistent, affordable and delicious!
The food in this place is good but the service is very bad i got take out couple times and they are always missing something.
I had Chicken Terryaki and bacon california roll which ive never seen anywhere else, worth going to try for sure! Food was delicious and at a time when most places are compensating with rising costs by reducing portions That certainly was not the case here, So delicious AND enough left to have another meal (and i am a big eater). Must check out
We have been supporting this business for years, especially during covid. Everytime we order we have made a simple request that we get a piece of Broccoli with our Appetizer tempura for our son. A SINGLE PIECE OF BROCCOLI. Today we were told no because of their policy, even though we have done this every other time we have ordered. We wont be supporting a business that is unable to accommodate a simple request for a child.
Found a piece of plastic in my sushi, not impressed.
The food quality was commendable; however, I deducted two stars. One, due to the cold green tea and miso soup. Secondly, some sushi rolls were excessively large, so making it challenging to eat them comfortably in one bite. I am confident that there is room for improvement in customer service too!
We got delivery from here and loved the food. Delicious unique rolls with big portions. I tried the deep fried California roll but i wouldnt do it again, i think the California roll itself would be better. If you like deep fried food though, go for it. It does a great job keeping its flavour and texture being fried
Good food, good prices, and good service Ps the tipping system online is dumb. Minimum 15% tip for take out or none? Why not allow for a custom tip :/
Super loud music. It ruins the meal. What a shame
Nice place, the food is great!
Sushi rolls were massive but lacking taste. The dynamite roll was 80% fake crab meat.
Ordered take out way in advance twice. Both times it wasn t ready for pick up when we were there and we had to wait for another 20-25 minutes.
Amazing casual place, very cozy, very clean, exceptional service. Friendly staff. Tasty food and big portions! Definitely come back! Food : 4/5
Everything tasted really good, the miso is the best around. The only reason for a 4 and not a 5. A few of our rolls were SO SO big, you cant eat it in one bite...and we have big mouths haha. So it was a bit difficult compared to your normal size rolls. I found that due to how massive in size there was naturally more yam and it tasted a bit mushy. But the crazy girl roll, chicken tempera, miso soup was absolutely delicious. If I could I would put a 4.5.
Absolutely love this place. My partner and I always eat here, dine in our out. And never once have we been disappointed. The food is always amazing! They never mess up on there dine out. However I will say you do get more of a portion of things when you eat in compared to take out. Other than that great place I definitely recommend.
My favorite sushi in the area hands down.
Five stars all across the board. Sushi rolls, nigiri and tempura were delicious. Service was friendly, prompt and patient. Atmosphere - what a perfect cozy place for lunch. Highly recommend.
Waiter is very nice and food is very delicious and also recommended eating the chicken teriyaki
Our most favorite place!!
We called to place an order at 6:15pm. We were told that the food would be ready in an hour. It seemed like a long time but it was New Years Eve so we were understanding. We got there at 7:15pm and asked about our order. They said they were packing it up. It took them another half hour for our order to be ready. The items that were flame torched were very cold that they hardened. Seemed as if it was sitting there for awhile. The chicken katsu don was the only thing that was good. Usually a good place but was very disappointed that we had to experience that.
came in yesterday around lunch time and there was no people. got served our menu, and heard the sushi chef say wow do they REALLY want to eat during this time? in an arrogant/rude manner and LOUD enough for us to hear. we were truly astonished and did not want to eat in an environment like that, so we got up and left. terrible service and extremely rude.
I have ordered here before and the food is good and rather quick. They told me 30 mins on the phone. I ordered at 6:07 and I got my order at 7:30. Got home and all tempura is cold, gyoza is cold. Will never go again. Lots of other sushi places.
Great sushi. Their Oshi sushi especially is personally the best I ve had in the lower mainland. I usually don t get special rolls, however their special rolls are well balanced.
We were in love with this place, our only and the first place to go for Sushi. One of the best quality in Vancouver. BUT unfortunately today after being for several years of repeated customer we got a very bad feedback. We re busy with our food and wanted to decide eat sth after main course suddenly server bring the bill!!!! We didn t ask for! I told him did I ask for bill?!?!!?
Overall great experience. From the service to the food, everything was incredible. Highly, highly recommend.
Amazing food Amazing service would definitely recommend to my friend and family :)
Food is always good. Always friendly service.
One of the best sushi places. The crazy girl roll is.. out of this world. Seared fish is amazing! This place was my first ever sushi experience and I keep coming back every single time. I can recommend anything off the menu, all the food is fresh and made fairly quickly. I recommend dining in for the full experience, I regularly get takeout too. Crazy girl roll, chicken kaarage don, mafia roll, all great picks and a must for everyone. Staff is very pleasant and nice!
Great food and great service! Love it!
Best sushi in the lower mainland
This used to be our go to until they ran out of sushi rice and only informed us when our order was supposed to be ready. I understand you can run out of ingredients but a sushi place run out of rice? And also, inform your customers earlier!
1: The rice used for sushi is slightly cold. 2: The appearance of the food is not refined enough. 3: The male waiter forgot to return the hot water. 1: The ingredients are very fresh. 2: The lady waiter is very pretty. 3: The restaurant is clean and hygienic.
Best sushi in town. Top line was my review a while ago. Since then we have gone there many times. But each time I realized its changing and not for good. The food quality and taste is declining but the more shocking part is the level of service from the waitresses. Service has declined very rapidly. They must make a change soon to their overall or they start losing customers fast given the sushi restaurant options
Always fresh!
Food is delicious. They have a lot of really good rolls
Sushi On is a great spot with many options. The pictures are of Beef Udon, and Chicken Katsu Don. We live close and come back often.
The food is amazing, service is super friendly and the place is super clean
Great service!
Their portion is generous and in good price. Their special rolls are great. If you can take the heat/spice, try Chicken Chickasha. It is deepfried chicken karate tossed in spicy sauce(chilly and sweet.)
Great sushi and wonderful service. Update: Ive been ordering from here the past year and am consistently very happy with the incredible quality of food and kindness of the staff. Always reliable for a good meal and much appreciated. Edit: just ordered delivery from Skip the Dishes and my whole order had absolutely no wasabe or pickled ginger for the sushi and sashimi. Really disappointing.
Great food and staff. Will come again
I am a long time royal customer of Sushi On and I always order the chicken karaage Don. However the one I got yesterday was horrible. The chicken was hard and dry and in the end I just gave up as I couldnt even chew the things.
Waitress said this restaurant is the first and original Sushi On. The 5 star rating speaks for itself. I went to the restaurant in Edmonds and had a bad taste in Sushi On before, but this one rebuilds the reputation of the franchise.
Could be a busy night, but being on hold for 11 minutes is not how long I would like to wait to place an order.
Got the spicy scallop crunch roll and hell s chicken which was both very delicious. Hell s chicken, i strongly recommend as it had a smokey taste with moderate spiciness . service was very quick however one out of their 3 waitresses were rude
Good variety of rolls. Great service as well. Lion King roll recommend
I ate here with a friend and our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the Angry Bird Roll (with spicy sashimi on top), the OMG roll, miso soup and gomai. The Angry Bird roll had 12 pieces of sushi under the spicy sashimi. The portion size was huge! Definitely enough for 2 people to share. The OMG roll had a great seared taste to it. Salty and a little sweet. Their miso soup and gomai were both very good. Loved the flavor of their tea! Nothing to complain about. Both the food and service were great tonight.
This store is so clean and the food is perfect! You should try the crunchy avocado roll, it s delicious.
This restaurant put the recipe on the top of sushi. Someday I need to visit and meet Ellen !
Very good sushi.
Local neighborhood sushi. Use to be called Osaka sushi, we decided to check out the new place. Good atmosphere and service was great. Kid-friendliness: They let my 15 year old son in. I wouldnt have done that. He has a bad attitude and never pays.
very tasty. def try the omg roll.
Absolutely delicious. Way better than anything in New West, worth the drive!
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and service was good. The food was fresh, delicious, and the portions are very well served :)
We ordered from here last night and the food was not good at all the California roll was made with canned crab I think it tasted gross and very fishy. The rest tasted ok not great though it was falling apart and later after eating it we didn t feel very well our stomachs were not well at all I don t think they use very fresh product. Not happy at all. Way better sushi restaurants around. Don t think we will order from here again we spent $60 and it wasn t good at all!!!!
The service was quick and polite and the food was delicious!! Their salmon oshi was soo good. Would definitely recommend!!
Nice calming atmosphere I like the music. The food is good I recommend the torched Nigiri fire. The Alaska roll left much to be desired, perhaps a sauce on top would elevate it to the next level. Staff are all super friendly and accommodating except this one lady who is tall and has bangs and never smiles. I asked her if I could sit in the corner and she said no because that area is for large parties, but then other staff proceeded to seat smaller parties in that corner. She was not accommodating or friendly. Not sure why she said no to me but then other staff said yes to other small parties. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian roll menu
This place is really cute and also has very good sushi :)
Good food, chicken teri don great. Spicy salmon roll, definitely not spicy at all even with wasabi on it. The wasabi is spicer than the roll itself. Will come again but not for spicy salmon roll.
Was excited to visit since I have tried and loved the food and service from the Sushi On in Burnaby, on Edmonds street. Met up with friends in Coquitlam, as they live in that area. First thing we saw from the door was a crowd so we knew there was going to be a wait. Always a good sign of a great spot! We walked in and was treated by what looked like an annoyed face. The server put her hands up, like to surrender, and said theres no tables. Almost like she was hoping we would leave. We asked her to put us on the wait list and she told us to fill the sheet. The place was packed but what was strange was there was one full table used for. I guess Uber eats and skipped dishes. They could have sat for as it looked like a prime table. Another table was empty with maybe two chairs in it. A family of five in front of us asked why that table was empty and the annoyed server told her theres no chairs. If you look around, there were empty chairs at every table they could have grabbed from. You can tell the family in front of us was annoyed as well as Im sure they received the same greeting as we did. They eventually left 5 minutes after being seated. We finally got seated and ordered. There were three of us. The food is delicious and VERY reasonably priced. I had the beef bento box for $15. The tempura was nicely fried. The beef and rice tasted delicious. We were still nibbling and was no more than 45 minutes since we sat down when the server came back to ask how wed like to pay and we said by card and separately. She came back with the bills and they were completely wrong. Being the one who took our order she should have been aware of what we had but she could have just cheated and looked at what was in front of us while we were still chomping away. Worst feeling is visiting a business and feeling like you are annoying them. Maybe this was a one-off. Will be back if Im ever in this area again. Also wanted to note the parking lot is very packed and very hard to find a spot
Must try their Poco ladies sushi love it
Great food!!
very unique variety!
The server was friendly on the phone and when I came to get my order. The presentation of the food is good and clean. I rate 2 because 2 to me is just below average. Not even one of the items we ordered came close to a 3. I see many 5 stars, and I was misled to believe this place was excellent. It is definitely not excellent by any means. Taking their price point into consideration, it is just below average, and so 2 is an honest, accurate reflection of that. For now, I continue on my search for a decent sushi restaurant in tri-cities.
Stuffed, super size portions so beware! lol
It has a quiet and clean atmosphere and Koreans serve the food. The taste is similar to that of a normal sushi restaurant.
What happened to Sushi On? New owners, all new staff? It went from amazing food and amazing service to terrible food and terrible service.
Good food, but way too expensive. However, I dont blame them, everything has become very expensive. As a result, Ive quit sushi this year. Hopefully when the economy is better, theyll still be around and Ill definitely be back
Ordered takeout last night. Got an Angry bird roll and found a hair on the tuna sashimi part. Wasnt too happy to spend $20 for that.
Ordered the Bento box for lunch, excellent value for your money. More food than expected and super delicious. Highly recommend.
Waited 30 minutes after the time on the app schedule for pickup only to see others that came after me, getting the food before me, especially delivery guys. Ive waited with other people at the entrance, and we stood there for a very long time like in a police lineup looking at the people dining as there is no divider between the dining area and the waiting area which makes you feel uncomfortable. The sushi rolls were salty and it looks like they got done in a hurry. I believe that sushi On is losing its shine, and its a shame.
Sushi On has always been our sushi place of choice (even when they were in the little plaza across the street). Its a busy restaurant for good reasons! You will not be disappointed!
EXTREMELY inept service, mediocre food, screaming kids. Save yourself, don t bother.
Overall a decent restaurant. Some dishes are worth 4.5 stars on the ends of taste and value. Some are worth 2.5 stars. The decor is really nice, but gets really chilly when someone opens the door
Great cost-benefit sushis
Nice setting and really tasty food options from cooked options like teriyaki soba or Udon noodles to their specialty rolls like their Lion king roll or their oshi sushi rolls with their house special sauce were super tasty.
The dream of the red dragon roll
Absolutely amazing! The chicken karage don is the best.
If you order several dishes, it will be served at long intervals and separately
Best sushi ever! Love coming here, as theres so many vegetarian options
First time trying Sushi On, seeing they have high number of reviews. Unfortunately, sushi was overpriced the amount you get. Also, heavy on the rice to filling ratio, and the rice was sticky which made the sushi chewy. Not tasty at all, wont be coming back.
Service is bad!
We love Tataki Attack Roll . Crazy Papa was also juicy. Value for money: Taste: Will return: Wheelchair accessibility: It s on the ground level, no stairs.
Placed an online order and waited over an hr past the expected time it was supposed to be ready. Worst take out service ever. Will not be ordering from here again. I really hope the food is worth the wait!
Rice was bad, fish was ok, service was slow.
They told a driver they cannot fulfill his order and to leave for no reason?! Probably the worst place to do an online order? Delivery customers must have massive delays??
Fast service and good price. Been a regular and always enjoyed dining here! Food
Best sushi restaurant in Poco
This place recommends from my boyfriend and also it is my first time to try sushi here. scallops sushi taste a bit much vinegar on it. The size of sushi little bit small and wild salmon sashimi is a bit thin compare other sushi restaurants I went. I don t mind to come back here to try other type of sushi
Good place but few choices for people with allergies. Dietary restrictions: Fewer choices for dietary restrictions Food : 4/5 |
Amazing sushi at a decent price. It was fresh, high quality, and generous portions. They also accomodated my allergy requirements without hesitation. I just had to leave a review immediately so it would pop up in my searches when I return to the area. Next time in Poco I will absolutely stop here again! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian menu options! Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to almost everything (more than anyone I have ever met in my life) and I was able to eat and left satisfied with a full belly! Kid-friendliness: My picky 12 year old loved the miso and his rolls!
Excellent quality of food!
A lot of options in the menu. Decent quality. Didnt like the atmosphere.
I love sushi on! Recently I was disheartened about some of the recent negative reviews for sushi on. Im glad to say that it is still my favorite spot to go to, so please give it another shot!
My favorite sushi place in Van Food is always so fresh tastes good and good prices! Food
This is my second visit to a Japanese restaurant. The menu has been updated and there are some special sushi rolls. I want to try different food next time. The chicken udon soup this time has the flavor of fried chicken, which is very delicious
Food was incredible!! Never has beef teriyaki tasted better the next day... I was thrilled with the prices! Fantastic! We had a group of 5 with reservations. We had to call a server over to get our orders, and again when we were ready to pay. Possible suggestion: have cards on the tables with the wifi password on them. The atmosphere was super clean, beautiful, and inviting. I am definitely going to eat here again
In my opinion it is the best place in BC to eat sushi, high quality food, great and fast service. Nice location in PoCo
Favorite sushi place
My family came from Toronto, we tried a lot of sushi restaurants in Canada, so I probably could tell it was the bad service. We stood in the store for 20 minutes, but no one came to instruct us to table or told us to reserve table. After that, they gave us a reservation list to fill in, and somehow they let us hold the list for 10 mins. It was super weird service.
Great value for your money. Good service the music is a bit slow makes you sleepy but the aesthetic and the cleanliness is great. Remembered to take a picture after I finished eating :)
Sushi On is the best place to enjoy a wonderful time with family and great food!!
The sweetie roll is to die for! If you like spice, ask for a side of the Korean Hot Sauce. Always consistent. A little on the pricey side but what sushi place isn t now a days.
Worst sushi ever . It was awful . Waste of money.
Its said its open till 9:30, they do not accept customers after 9! They had us to take out our food! What a shame
Best yakiudon
Food was okay but service was the worst. Servers are very unfriendly. I really didn t want to give them tips. I won t go back again.
I have been going to this restaurant since it was Ginza sushi across the street. This is by far one of my most favourite sushi spots of all time and Ive had a decent amount of sushi. Their flavours are spot on. Their special rolls are absolutely delicious. The sashimi and fried stuff is always super fresh. There isnt a single dish Ive tried here in the last 5+ years that i didnt enjoy. The service has always been great and friendly as well. Highly recommended!
It s a good place to enjoy sushi
Great sushi selection. Great service. Portions are good. Will definately be back.
Great local sushi. Menu has alot of variety. Can get busy for dine-in so recommend takeout for Friday and Saturday. Definitely one of my go-to places!
Amazing! great sushi , service, atmosphere and reasonable prices Vegetarian options: lots of choices! Food : 5/5 |
Great food, great service. 100% recommended
great sushi and service
We ate at the restaurant & our group of 5 were very happy with the food & service! We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all of our friends & family!
I had ordered through their online system. They didnt have an option to buy brown rice option so I ordered white rice and just put it in the memo I wanted brown. I searched their online menu and couldnt find the button. So firstly they should fix that. Anyways I paid online. To find on my banking today they billed me another 1.50$. Its not the amount I care about its that no one said anything and not sure how they can charge your card without having it? And a 1.50$ on a $80 order, common.... Makes me wonder how secure their system is if they are able to bill you again. And to boot, the brown rice had a hair in it couldnt even eat it.
Not a cozy vibe inside. Sushi is alright. The Udon packed to go hs the noodles separate from the broth which I wasn t a fan of.
Fresh fish, decent for its price. Recommend the aburi nigiri!
Great quality and selection of dishes to enjoy the ambiance is relaxing.
We ordered sushi and another food. the chicken katsu don had very bad smell. But staff are very kind and professional. The sushi was normal. Food : 2/5 |
Chicken Karaage: Crispy yet tender served with spicy mayo sauce. It was a really good appetizer! Thank you, Sushi On!
My favorite is the prawn tempura...batter is so good! Favourite roll is a Ginza roll.
Amazing sushi
Delicious food Parking: Spacious Food : 4/5 |
We were always curious about this place every time we drove down lougheed highway, and we are glad that we ended up visiting! First of all, we loved their naming skills, spicy tuna volcano, hell s chicken, they re all really funny, we didn t have the stomach to try the hells chicken, but the volcano didn t make us regret trying, it tasted like a crispy tuna nigiri! We recommend everyone to try it out, They also had their slogan on the wall which was also their wifi password, no sushi no life words to live by, The jalapeño bomb roll was also great, it was deep fried so it could have been oily but the jalapeño was there to balance it out. The rest were also great, this place really came out of blue but it is our new gem, The servers were also professional and quick, they knew what they were doing and checked up on us and gave the bill right at the perfect moment, Overall experience of this place was great and we would definitely be coming here again Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian menu Parking: Good amount of parking, but could be full on busy days like weekends Kid-friendliness: They have special plastic made colored utensils for kids, they were adorable Wheelchair accessibility: We saw another table where they had a person with wheel chair sit down and had enough room
Probably the best sushi restaurant overall. I love their hells chicken dish I believe its called, amazing taste, portion, and temperature. Please never change!
Amazing place to get some good quality sushi
My Philadelphia roll and negitoro roll was super tasty! Food came fast and servers were really nice.
Exceptional! I have dined here several times since moving into the area and each experience has been pleasant. The food, service, cleanliness is always on point. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is remarkable. I stopped eating sushi for a few years even though it is my favorite food. I stopped because I found the restaurants now put sauce on everything and so much mayonnaise. I dont like either. The tempura is outstanding and they must clean the oil very regularly. I am not easily impresses bit this place impressed me.
The best sushi in the town!!! Parking: I think they need more space Food : 5/5 |
I am waiting for 20 minutes for door dash delivery they are so crazy I don t know whats going on..such a bad experience my opinion please do the service fast
First and foremost food quality was great. However, here comes the issue. We threw a surprise 46th birthday for my oldest brother. There were just less than 24 guests including 2 toddlers and a baby around 12:45pm reservation. We were in the establishment between 12:45- 4pm. There were possibly 2-3 tables of other patrons between that time. My nephew who is 10 has autism and has very specific sensory diet and won t eat unless it s a certain type of food. The restaurant would not let him bring the food in and my brother and nephew ended up having to eat in their car!! Firstly, my brother s birthday, secondly a person (10 years old) with special needs who has a certain diet ended up having to spend a good amount of time in their car instead of being around family to celebrate. When we asked staff, response was we were not told ahead about this.. ? Then proceeded to say they ve had similar incidents? I spoke to my sister in law who was already heightened and asked to speak to the owner in which she was ignored and did not communicate the issues or even offer any other solution or help accommodate or suggest anything otherwise. Instead left her staff unsupported? It is extremely disappointing and as someone who has worked with children and youth with special needs for almost 20 years this is one of the most disappointing interactions I ve ever come across. They were very quick to ask for the bill at the end which was not a cheap group bill considering it was a large group yet were not able to accommodate the slightest bit for someone who has ASD let alone communicate and provide an alternative solution. There were no further explanation or communication about this matter. I spoke to a friend who works for the human rights tribunal and very much said that this is possibly a human rights issue that we have experienced today. Unless your kid can sit still I definitely would not recommend this establishment nor would I recommend If you or someone you know has special needs/ dietary restrictions that will require outside food. I m keen to hear from the owner to hear their position on this. You were there today and chose not to support your staff nor tend to the customer. What is your policy when it comes to providing for people with special needs? This is not a nut allergy or diet issue this is specifically someone s sensory issues in which they WILL NOT EAT anything else aside from he had today. Your establishment pushed out a child with special needs (autism) to eat in their car while the rest of their family and friends ate in your restaurant. Mind you they couldn t eat outside the rain/ wet snow when they were asked it had to be eaten outside. Do better. **** Update Thank you for response. However, that did not exactly align with our experience. When my nephew was already outside in the car with my brother, I spoke to one of the servers and informed him of the situation and instead of dealing with it at the moment coming up with a solution, the response was this is the owners policy I m sorry etc.. even though we ve informed them about his autism. They could have been asked to come back instead of having to be out in their car to eat. We were told that a server approached with pork Gyoza on the house for the inconvenience after they returned to the restaurant which sure is a good gesture but doesn t equate to what had already transpired. Some disabilities are invisible and aren t physically evident and why put a child or anyone in an uncomfortable situation. We had hoped that this would ve been avoided and communicated by management instead of having to hear back from a google review.
Great food, large portions!
