Welcome to The Gillnetter Pub! Nestled along the scenic Pitt River, our pub offers a delightful blend of great food, refreshing drinks and stunning river views. With a wide selection of beers, classic pub fare and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy good company. PLEASE NOTE, YOU MUST BE 19 YEARS OR OLDER TO JOIN US. Come for the scenery, stay for the experience!
Fantastic service from Reanna! We had a large group of about 20 people, for a work Christmas party. She provided us with excellent service, every order was correct, and the kitchen was super quick in getting our orders out all at the same time. The food was really delicious, honestly better than I would expect from a pub. I have the surf and turf and it was really yummy! She also took careful note of any allergies at the table.
Love their Thursday night 50 cent wings. It’s really an unbeatable deal. The portions are huge and they have lots of wing flavours to choose from. You must order a minimum of 10 per order. Would recommend the salt and pepper wings and the honey garlic ones. I would skip the hotyaki flavour as I found the flavour combo didn’t quite work. Service was great and the ambience is good.
Food was ok, I had the brisket sandwich and tasted like a uninspired sandwich made with lunch meat. Drinks were good. Server was quick and attentive and made sure we had what we needed when we needed it. Maybe next time I'll have a burger or main and see if those are a better representation of the restaurant. Gravy was pretty damn good.
Excellent patio! Some vegetarian options, but not very vegan friendly. Onion rings were perfect. Gendered washrooms.
Recently had a fantastic time here with my husband. It's been mentioned to us before but fell off our radar until we just so happened to be passing by when we quickly pulled over. Let me just say the service was fantastic even though it was a very busy Friday lunch rush. We sat on the patio with a great view of the water and our server was very friendly and attentive. Never had to ask for anything as she was always on the ball. With so many seafood options on the menu, I wanted try a bit of everything but we were satisfied with our picks. We'll certainly be back again!
Located just off the Marry Hill Bypass with a great view of the Pitt River flowing into the Mighty Fraser River. It's been a few years since I've been to the Gillnetter but I was more than pleased that they finally did some nice upgrades to the inside of the Pub. Gone is the Carpet, and put in a nice new flooring. And not to mention they finally Reupholstered all the bench seating and so on ( believe me it sure needed to be done) like I said it's been a while since I was at the Pub. The outdoor patio is a great way to spend a lazy summer afternoon having lunch and drinks. Not to mention enjoying the evening as well. The Gillnetter has a not too bad selection of local Craft Beers. And the food is always fairly consistent, with one of my go to's being the Seafood Club Sandwich ( with your choice of bread ) All in all the Gillnetter Pub is a great place to relax and enjoy the day and evening with friends or your significant other. Since they finally did some upgrades to the inside I'll probably be back more often with friends and so on 😀👍🍸
My husband took me there for Sunday brunch . We were there around 10.20am . We sat down outside which was really relaxingwiththe nice view. They have plenty of choice.not serving alcohol before 11am. We ordered (ham and cheese omelet, also medium Benedict eggs with crab and shrimp ) they were both good and totally cost us 40 $ and somethings. We will be back for sure
It's love at the first sight! This pub has a bit of a rustic look. With the river on its side, sitting in the outdoor area was absolutely a bliss on a sunny day. The food, I would say, didn't wow me. That said, they all taste quite good by the pub standard. They also offer an array of local draft beer and wine at reasonable price. I heard that there were often goodies in their inhouse liquor store, but I didn't get to check them out this time. This pub must be a favorite hangout in the neighborhood. At noon, it's already full house. I saw its customers joyfully sipping their wine and beer.
Excellent as always
A nice pub on the banks of the Fraser River. Great outdoor patio in the summer, covered and heated patio all year round.
Overpriced and in desperate need of at least a good clean and refresh!
Great service from Reanna! Fantastic food awesome place. Thanks everyone on behalf of our staff Christmas party. Vegetarian options: Delicious veg burger
Really great evening and excellent food. Fabulous service from Reanna. Good choice of vegetarian options.
The worst place to have a Christmas Party - do NOT go here if you are expecting to have fun with your team - they despise fun - it is not what they want you to have as they made that clear by the dirty looks and comments they were giving. We reserved months ago and confirmed a Xmas party for this pub, so they knew we were coming and that it was a work party. We thought what a fabulous local pub, lets support our community. At the very start they threatened to take our seating if people did not show up in 15-20 minutes, and kept that harassment up for quite a time and there was no humanity involved - proper cut throat attitude ; which you can imagine was a damper to the start of a holiday work party and so stressful - it was honestly really an awful feeling. The server, a curly blonde haired -proper rude, by the end she became civil, but way too late lady you are mega rude - like did not hold back the negative vibe rude, At least 3 of the other staff stared, glared and made everyone feel so uncomfortable - also note these where not just young kids these were full grown women who with this kind of attitude I can only imagine are sick of people and hate serving. One of the blonde servers - older -dressed in grey patterned pants and black top was so inappropriate and disrespectful that we will most certainly share to everyone our experience and will never set foot in this pub again, Totally unacceptable behaviour which should not be left unchecked. Management seems to have lost all control of their staff that glares stares and makes an astonishingly uncomfortable, dreadful environment for customers in groups, just so disappointing especially during Christmas time. Parking: Parking was packed between the hours of Noon to 1230pm maybe 1- it is a busy pub on a rainy day and there were line ups
Fun time at the Gill better Pub! Christmas party for work. Reanna handled our large group with friendly professionalism. Kept everyone happy. Food was prompt and tasty. Winter Menu is great.
Kid-friendliness: No kids allowed pub Recommended dishes
A nice neighbourhood pub, good staff and tasty food. Super great view of the river!
The location of the Gill is on the Fraser River so the patio view is nice and relaxing. The food is quite good with something for everyone. We ordered wonton soup, sandwich meals and Cobb Salad. Everything was tasty and portions are substantial. It has a good beer and bar selection. It is a busy local hangout (so parking can be a pain), and best of all... best prices in the area! Bon appetite!
Decent lunch, great service and an amazing view. I ll end up going back!
Parking: View of the river. Heated patio Food
Great staff! Great food and amazing service. Will definitely be back!!!
Your seafood bake was fantastic tonight please put it on your by every day menu.
Great chile
Great food and ambiance. Perfect pub.
Great place with patio. Good food!!
Nice pub! Good food & beer too.
A great local neighborhood pub
I recommend this place to anybody.
Huge menu with so many drink and food choices
Had a great dinner again. Great spot even in pouring rain. Cozy and relaxed. Friendly & attentive staff. Parking: Lots of parking on three sides of building, plus
Have sat at the Gillnetter both inside and out, and you just cant go wrong. One of the best pubs outside the Vancouver core.
Great spot, right on the water.
Cool lunch spot. Try the halibut and chips!
Unique atmosphere I liked it Food
I wish if they have Halal option
I love this place, food, music, service all fantastic
I had halibut fish tacos. Nice and perfect snack on a Taco Tuesday, 3 for 14$ on soft taco shell. Too bad they fill the drink glasses so much with ice. not much to enjoy in the ceaser when its ice, all three!! Bar costs but thats rediculous (thats why I always ask for no ice in my drink) I had a tap pint. Always a favorite place too go for locals, that says alot. Service was a 10! 5 Star service by all staff. Our secret hideaway on the river, shhh!
Wish if they can serve Halal food
Great sunny october afternoon on the patio . Service was fantastic
I really like that I get to call this Pub my neighborhood pub! I recently moved into the area and I love walking the PoCo Trail and then stopping in for a seat in the patio for a drink. Normalize taking yourself out on a date! Great atmosphere, the view is beautiful and the setting is comfy.
Nice servers, great food! Nice atmosphere, we sat on the outdoor patio and had a great view of the Fraser River, our server was attentive and had a nice personality. Food was delicious hot, and looked fantastic.
A great patio overlooking the water. The music was not very loud so our party of 4 could easily chat around the table. Food and service was good pub fare.
The parking lot is beautifully painted
Wasn t sure about the Gilly when I had heard they didn t have lines in the parking lot- glad to see they have since been done beautifully. I would gladly park in any one of their spots again.
Its pretty straightforward for a pub lunch. The wedge salad was very basic. The wings were hot. But the service was a bit slow, and they seemed disappointed we didnt order more food or alcoholic drinks.
Excellent beer selection. Great fish and Chips. Had the Prime rib sandwich this time which was also great. We always enjoy it here. The staff is great as is the food.
Love the Gillnetter. Friendly service, amazing food and can t beat the view. Never disappoints!
All right food for a pub
Good food, decent prices, nice view
Great place for beverage and food.
We enjoyed a lovely evening on the outdoor patio a couple weeks ago mid week. The service was good, the assortment of food and drinks we tried were tasty. Did not feel rushed and was quite a peaceful evening. Will be going back again.
Very reasonable priced, esp if you come before 11:30 and get the amazing discount. Gorgeous view of the water with nice patio. Good customer service. Worth a visit!
Felt like some fish and chips, decided to try this place and was pleasantly surprised. Calamari appetizer was lightly battered and perfectly crispy, halibut and chips hit the spot. Recommend this place with confidence.
It s a very nice local pub by the pit river. Good food and drinks and nice stuff. The Sunday buffet breakfast is so good and my most favourite! Strongly recommend it!
Always a good time at the Gillnetter Pub!
Always curious whenever I pass by this pub..i finally pulled over and try. Nice and friendly place, the fish and chips was very good :) Food
The restaurant itself is a nice place with an open view of the water Service is good. How ever the food was hit and miss with some of their dishes I ve never had dry garlic ribs with tons of lemon spice on it. Plus it was so overcooked the meat was burnt Food : 3/5
Great patio environment and good food
Weve been here quite a few times, love the view, the service and the food. Our most recent visit, the food was even better. We had wings (which for me, in most restaurants, Im not a fan. bad oil, not enough meat or over fried) these wings were perfect! Light but crispy, great flavor and perfect seasoning (s&p wings) Also had the prawn and halibut bake- just YUM! Perfectly cooked. We comment to our server and she mentioned there are some new staff - well done!
Great place right on the river. Usually pretty busy
Best wings in the lower mainland, great staff and service, and an overall fun place to eat and drink. Love the extended patio, such a nice relaxing view!
Cant beat sitting on the patio in the sun watching boats go by on the river. Staff is friendly and the food and drinks are great!
I love the vibes of this place. Great foods
The food was okay, but the tables and the patio were really dirty. The patio chairs are extrely uncomfortable too
Pretty good pub food. Recommend the wings, french onion soup, clam chowder, and the turkey pot pie, which was on special. Edit: Thursday wing specials start at 3pm!
We sat on the patio, it was a very nice setting. Food and drinks were good and our server was the best. She let us stay 45 minutes past closing before she finally said its time to go
Treated to a birthday lunch by friends Rainy day but we had a lovely time. The service, cocktails and food were very good! Need to frequent more often!
Vegetarian options: Not much choice for vegans Food
Had an amazing and delicious experience during wing night. Yes there was a bit of a wait but being able to hang out on the dock and looking at the phenomenal view was great. Alexa was our server and I can t recommend a better waitress! Thank you for the amazing experience and friendly atmosphere
You should to recheck BC legislation on minors and curfew hours
Great service and food. Good for official meets and eats. Should try the Item of the Day at cheap price.
Came here to celebrate my brother s birthday and wow the food and service was amazing! Clare was our server and she was amazing. Very attentive and friendly and the food and the value was great. The overall atmosphere here is really good and the view on the patio was beautiful. First time coming here and I will definitely be returning especially after the amazing service and experience we received from Clare!
Good food and service. Pretty comfy place. We enjoyed ourselves. My only complaint is that they dont understand what prawns are size wise, but the food was still good.
Lots of old people for a Friday 4pm!
service was adequate, food was not great, Happy hour menu is poor, prices are quite high for a pub
tried to go twice. got rejected both times.
Above average place all and all. They got the drinks, the food is ok, the prices dont match the quality tho but its a cozy pub anyways
No minors. Food is average.
Wings Thursday what a great deal
Absolutely beautiful spot with great staff! Cauliflower wings were fantastic!
Best nachos around!!!!
Worst place for families. Went with my 10 month baby to celebrate my wifes birthday with a nice lunch. Denied us access because we were with a minor. Ridiculous.
Like everywhere these days, dont expect a deal of a.keal. however, lovely view, friendly staff, decent enough food. Would go again.
Always good food and great atmosphere
Good food good servers and excellent view were always happy coming here
The service was tip top and the waitress had a smoking hot body. She wouldnt take her eyes off of me, i felt like a piece of meat fer gawd sakes.
Great food and a great place to relax watching the activity on the Fraser River Parking: No parking issues Wheelchair accessibility: Not great
Great food, nice service, a bit noisy
Great seafood.
Always welcoming, right on the water, love the food, friendly service and has been a part of the community forever. I always look forward to every visit. Justin billing s is always participating in community events and goes the extra mile for customers as much as possible. This is by far my favourite neighbourhood pub.
It was a nice sunny day so we sat on the patio. Nice views of the river. Good selection of beers and other drinks and great specials. The staff were all super friendly. They were setting up for a private event and some customers were cranky about it, but I thought the staff communicated this really well with us and were very chill about it. Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous views if you get a balcony spot, fantastic food staff and atmosphere my only negative thing I have to say is we had to go home. Highly recommended that you stop in for good cooking and amazing ambiance. I will definitely be coming back.
Go there every Sunday night for trivia. Woman that runs it is awesome. Good Times had by all.
Super spot...but it can be busy. Fabulous spot looking out over the Fraser River...the Sunday brunch is legendary. To die for, fish n chips.. .
Great food friendly staff. I would recommend going there
Best steak in town!
Nice.
It wasnt a busy night and the service was right on!!!
This place still has charm. If you wanted to visit a plave with predictable pub food desserts taste stale as if theyve been trapped in the freezer for months, and servers that forget youre there. Then youve come to the right place. Familiar pub. No flash. Except the nachos. Theyre amazing.
Made a reservation 3 weeks prior only to turn up and be advised they didn t have anything on the books. Service was very slow and the food was average. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and it arrived with Cajun chicken. Took so long to fix, I just asked for it without chicken if it was going to be any longer. They took the Cajun chicken off the bowl and served me the same salad. And two other orders of the same choice came out 20 minutes apart. I won t be back!
This is a popular spot right on the Fraser River. You can watch the working river traffic enjoying a bevvie. Good sized covered patio area. Decent pub food with good sized portions, fair prices. Only downside is it can be VERY loud at peak times. Be prepared to wait in line to get seated at these times, too.
I had lunch here with my mom. We had the Mediterranean Caesar salad with baby shrimp and it was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and this dish.
Food is always made to perfection
Fab fish chips Vino was great Incredible servers
Had an awesome brunch for a reasonable price and good service.
It was good, typical pub food and atmosphere. My only issue was was asked for a table on the patio and was told there was a 25 minute wait. We asked to grab a seat at the bar or inside until a patio table was free and we were told once we have a seat anywhere we are unable to change it which seemed very odd. Ive never heard of that before. Luckily it was a very nice warm day so we walked down to the river for 20 mins and by the time we got back our table was just getting set.
Nice pub atmosphere. Very friendly everyone and great food. Always happy.
Best patio in the Tri-cities!! Arrived at 8:30 on a Monday to find all kinds of open seats on the patio. Enjoyed a late night dinner with friends with the beautiful river and moon as our view. Shut down the place at 10:00. Was a great night.
People are super friendly and food is always fresh and delicious and great view Parking: It gets busy so recommended to be there earlier.
I came here to have $.50 chicken wings night. Servers are friendly and polite. Food has alot of different choices of flavour. The wings night can be busy and may need to wait to go in. It is a good place to have a snack to catch up with friends, it come here to watch sports. Tahy have multiple Big screen TV. I will come here again for wings and gathering again. Parking: It can get busy, and parking area can be full, but street parking also available Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp for wheel chair access to main entrance.
Good wings
Huge menu great food
We had a great dinner here the food and the view were fantastic
Okay, very Sysco like. Theres nothing to rave about. Happy hour, okay for drinks. Salad is probably the best option. Its a battle out there now for value at restaurants, and this one isnt winning my vote. Sorry. Nice location for views.
I havent been to the Gillnetter pub since my 19th birthday a solid 34 years ago. I had moved away. We went as a family to celebrate my moms 83rd birthday. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. We had another table sending her shots, all in all a great time.
Brunch. Hot, good, big.
One of the best waterfront pubs in greater Vancouver Food
Your Mediterranean Ceasar Salad has ruined me for life.... Ill never be happy with an ordinary Ceasar again. Parking: Weekday lunchtime, so parking no prob
The Gilnetter always offers great food paired with excellent service!
Beautiful setting / scenery for a lunch or evening. Food is served quickly and is a fair price. You won t go home hungry!
Excellent place for gatherings. Another visit and another great service, thank you Parking: Available
Great food and very fast service.
All good
Delicious seafood, really nice owner & a great view.
This place has been around forever and for good reasons - great food, service and atmosphere. We love meeting friends here.
Gillnetter Pub is a nice cozy restaurant and pub that is the perfect place to have a drink, late night snacks, and chat with friends. Even in the winter, the patio is heated and cozy to sit at. At Gillnetters, there are daily specials. My favorite day to go is Thursday, which in particular are wing nights (the whole night), where wings are 50 cents each. Over the few times I have visited Gillnetters, I have got the opportunity to try the dry ribs, the honey garlic, Thai, buffalo, Cajun, and teriyaki, and barbeque chicken wings, the apple crumble, and the prosecco wine. Of the things I have tried, I would highly recommend the Cajun, honey garlic, and Thai wings and the apple crumble. Overall, the wings have the perfect ratio of crust to meat and are crispy on the outside while meaty on the inside. The apple crumble, on the other hand, is quite big, so it would be a nice dessert to share between 2 to 4 people, depending on how hungry people are. On the other hand, I am not so much a fan of the barbeque and buffalo wings. The barbeque wings are smothered in strong prepackaged barbeque sauce and the buffalo wings use the basic Frank s Red hot sauce. Overall, although there are things on the menu that I like and others that I dislike, Gillnetters is cheap comfort food that I would go back for, and every time I revisit, I order the dry Cajun wings along with a wet wing flavor of my choice.
The soup and seafood melt was awesome. It wasnt too busy, and they didnt rush us to leave.
Had very good service! And very good food. Beef Dip, fries and a great soup...cabbage and sausage in tomato based soup...so tasty! BEER IS GOOD TOO!
I often stop for lunch here because of very good food and prompt and welcoming staff. Great view and atmosphere as well. Cheers, Maurice Parking: Great spot and easy access.
This is our go to pub for a quick bite to eat and drinks. Great view, always a fun older vibe. No kids allowed.
Stopped by this nice pub while out for a drive Service was excellent. They had a New York steak dinner on special and it was very tasty The view from the patio of the river is amazing. Would definitely pop by again
Always enjoy watching the marine traffic along the river. Ordered a flight of beer from an extensive offering. Split a cod burger with my friend. Everything was delicious! The fries were amazing.
Awesome place for relaxing. I watched sports and ate very good food ( tortellini stuffed).
A fun vibe at this pub located on the Fraser River. Great view, good food and decent service. I would recommend! Food
Drinks are strong, food is good, and it feels like you are in old marine restaurants. Prices are great also.
It was business meet up and we four colleagues had a nice lunch on December 15th, 2024 . The pub has a nice waterfront patio and inside the ambience is nice with fireplace and ample space . we have some great starters like Calamaris, chicken wings . I ordered baked Haddock and prawn with rice . The taste was delicious. The server was very courteous and helpful . Over all the experience was awesome
New paint job inside since I was here last. Brighter and nicer than before, it was time for an upgrade as it was dark and dated before. Food still good and reasonable prices.
Mulligatawny was amazing.
Went there for dinner with my spouse and her brother and his wife.
Friday January 12, 2024 @ 6 pm. Service was completely unsatisfactory! We have been coming here for years and the staff (guy and female server) that night were extremely rude and very disrespectful towards my family especially when the service etc. Drinks & food were all wrong. ( usually we always have a great experience) so, Would love the manager to please contact me. Thank you.
Met a friend for lunch and enjoyed all
A beautiful hidden gem and family favourite
Nice place, good location, good food and service. What more could you ask for other than sunny weather.
After a poor experience 3 years ago, we decided to go for lunch to see if things have improved. Unfortunately it hadnt and the food was still sub-par. My BLT sandwich bread was soggy, barely any bacon, and the daily smoked salmon chowder soup tasted very vinegary with barely any salmon. Staff werent pleasant, were very short with us, and spilled vinegar on our clothes but didnt do anything about it. View was great though.
The food took way too long and it was okay but not amazing. I had a burger, fries and potato skins
Cool spot, burgers are good, and the prices are great!
Was a guest here.Sandwich was excellent Hard to make a sandwich remarkable This one was Service excellent Place crowded.I understand why Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent.Have ramp.
Our favorite pub. The atmosphere is amazing. Wings are the best, better than other restaurants
Great pub food with a really nice view
Talk about banking off of your view we were here for lunch and when our entrees arrived our appetizer was promptly whisked off the table without discussion with us and with a good 1/4 of the meal still there. Too bad I didn t know at the time that the only good edible meal was the appy that was essentially ripped out of my hands. The muscles I had were so tough that they might as well have been petrified artifacts: and there was enough salt to kill the entire European continent one country at a time. $21 wasted in my opinion, a blind monkey would probably understand and stop adding salt but here we are.
Upd: Im editing my review back to 5 stars for service and overall, as I can see that this pub has a genuine willingness to make the service better for any dissatisfaction people mark. Ive been contacted quickly and Leisa listened to my concern and recieved a detailed feedback. With everything said, hopefully that was only one experience that didnt go as well as we hoped it would be. The food will be marked after our next attempt to dine there. This is my original experience before any action has been taken: We loved to come over, especially during the wings night. And yes, I understand that its probably the busiest night and staff do their best to serve things. Ordered red hot and salt & pepper wings along with cauliflower wings. The latter were... okay. Put aside a few pieces of clotted batter. Red hot and salt & pepper wings came on one large platter, although previously different flavors were served separately. My spouse cannot eat hot stuff, luckily there was not so much of a contamination. Salt and pepper were SUPER dry. And SUPER salty. They tasted off, like prepared in the old oil. Red hot were great, though not so much of a sauce on them (the last time it was literally dripping!). On top of everything, Ive got a glass of water with ice, which was probably 75% of ice. Was never asked if I need more water and throughout the presence we were only approached once, no drinks refreshments were suggested. We will definitely give Gillnetter Pub a second chance. We had a lot of great experience with them for years. Parking: Parking is available around the facility. Weve been coming on a very busy night, still were able to find a spot. Kid-friendliness: No minors allowed.
