We came in for drinks after dinner and the vibe as soon as you walked in was chill but energetic. We found seats and had a server greet us rather quickly and mentioned the specials. We had long island ice tea and they were well balanced and not sweet or strong ...I enjoyed and had 2 while one of the group had an enjoyable dark and stormy. The food looked good that I saw coming out of the kitchen. I would go back for drinks and meals as I enjoyed my first visit.
Went with my friends during lunch on Saturday. Lots of seats available, which was great. Service was great! We asked to watch a specific soccer game, and they put it on for us. The only reason for a 4 star - is the food. We ordered party size nachos & cheese - it was fine. Not the best taste that I had, but was a decent size. Also ordered burgers, which were a bit “dry”. But for the price it was good. Just not as good as it was when we had it last time. Anyway, I’d definitely go there again, probably would order something else, not the burger.
The burger is amazing. My husband and I both got one and we agreed, we were visiting from Calgary and found the best burger. The mushrooms were grilled before being put on the burger so it wasn’t sloppy, the fries & gravy were also great. Definitely recommend!
My husband and I came in for Sunday breakfast/brunch . We both ordered the classic breakfast, I ordered mine with sausage and my husband got bacon. When the order arrived I didn't notice right away but noticed the sausage was a Bavarian sausage not breakfast sausage. I asked the waitress, she didn't apologize or anything just that's what we always have served like I should know. The waitress, I believe by the receipt her name is Lesli. She offered bacon instead and when brought out she just plunked it on the table , no apology at all....I have been in the customer service business since I was 18, I will be 60 next year. One thing to always do is apologize even if not your doing. ALSO your menu should say Bavarian Sausage 1 waste of money 2 is what if someone did not know it's a Bavarian sausage started eating and had an allergic reaction!!?? Not everyone thinks about mentioning food allergies. Samz pub is convenient for us but standoffs staff does cut it. There are other pubs in the area.
My brother and I frequent Samz often, and when friends are in town from the island, we usually take them there in the afternoon for lunch and a couple drinks while watching a few games on the TV's . Our server on Friday was very nice, and took great care of us while having to deal with one of our Island friends, and his Shenanigans lol. I do believe our servers name was Alexandra, and was great while dealing with the one friend. I blame the Limes Alexandra lol. We always have a great time at Samz and the Staff and everyone is always so accommodating And of course some of us walk home as Samz is close by, and the others took Uber home. Always do it right or don't do it at all I say... Forgot all about our lunch, basically it was just my brother and I who ate. I had the Samz Burger Bacon and Cheese with Shrooms with Fries, and my brother had some Hot Wings and deep fried pickles. Every thing came out hot and ready to go. And I have to admit I really enjoy the bottomless Fries as well ( great touch ) as our mom loves that as well when my brother and I take her to Samz for lunch. And finally in the posted Video Steve'd has left the building lol. Emphasis on the Steve'd part lol... 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴 Once again thanks to everyone at Samz for great hospitality as always 😃👍👍🍻 Update... We were back at Samz on Saturday May 24th 2024 and one of our friends is Vegan, and Samz accommodated him no problem at all and made a special Vegan meal just for him. He was extremely happy and really enjoyed it. The Vegan meal picture is in with the pictures posted...
Haven't been here for a long time (no minors allow, so tough to want to be here if you have kids). Used to be a great neighbourhood gem with good food and service, but kind of disappointed when we were here the other night. Arrived on a Friday night around dinner time a couple weeks back. Place was packed as expected, so we understand the service could be a bit slow. Very limited menu (when compares to other pubs in the area), and very pricy for the quality and portions they offered. Waited almost an hr for a few pieces of chicken wings and onion rings, taste was just meh. Our server was friendly, but pretty sure she brought me a lager instead of the honey lager I ordered. Maybe it was just one of those nights?
Probably one of the best Pubs in the area, great service, great food, comfortable surroundings, if there is any sporting events on the place tends to pack up quickly although they do have quite a large capacity and plenty of TVs so you should be able to get a good view no matter where you sit. Lots of good specials every night and tasty food!
This local pub has delicious burgers and pasta. The atmosphere is clean, quaint and chill. The service is friendly. We ordered the Same burger and Kobe burger. The yam fries are quite a bit better than the regular fries. We went on a Saturday lunch period and there was no wait but quite a few people enjoying.

Our team comes here after soccer once a week, it s the best spot in downtown Poco! Britt is such an awesome server and she should totally get a raise for her excellent service always! Thanks guys I m a FAN!
It s average across the board. Nothing of note. My dad likes this place and that s the only time I ever suggest going is when he s in town. Parking: A small lot in the courtyard and tons of parking across the street and along the back streets.
Great place. Foods really good here. Servers are pleasant and everyone pulls together (we came as a large party). Just wish they could update the TVs with a Working remote control on the patio (:Amazon.ca lol). Could not show our presentation which took weeks to prepare. Minor. The neighborhood Loves Samz.

Samz has such deliciously fresh food, friendly staff, and comfy seats to relax while enjoying a game or watching a match. Definitely a new favorite haunt when I can make it out that way or we are on the way home from the lake.

Absolutely am obsessed with their food I will say, the whole sit yourselves is a bit challenging at times because if they dont notice you came in, you might be waiting a lot time to be acknowledged so you have to go up and make yourself seen and ask for someone. Usually we love being there, served there and the food is absolutely fantastic!!

Came here for dinner with my sister after a day of shopping and wanted to try out this pub, unfortunately probably won t be back. Our server wasn t friendly at all, didn t check up on us after we got our food, had to walk up to the bar to ask for our bills from a different server, and saw our server just eating in the back where the kitchen is. Waited awhile longer for her to bring the machine to us and when she did she just put the machine on the table and walked away . I m a server in the industry and this was very unpleasant service. I don t even think she smiled once during our time there, except for the guy who was sitting at a table over from us that she was paying a lot of attention to. I wish I would ve tipped zero % as tips are earned and not to be expected. Our server was Britt H I think it said on our bill.
If you are a sports fan and love great food and a great atmosphere, you need to come to Samz!! The service is fantastic and they have the best environment in town for playoff hockey! Go Canucks!! Food : 5/5

I cannot get enough of their deep fried pickles! Service is good here, food is tasty. The sun patio is lovely and the heating is great when it gets cold. Its usually less crowded and noisy in the patio than the inside. Theyve been showing the hockey games so its a nice place to catch the games during play offs. Parking: Loads of parking in the back and all around the neighbourhood.
Wish we could of eatten here but they dont allow miners and we were only around for the day.
Its a great place for the team to meet after playing ball. I come in for a beer but always have to try the soup.

Used to come here at lunchtime and eat bowls of french fries. They are so damn good! Eventually at the behest of a colleague I expanded my palette to include wraps and sandwiches. Whatever. French fries are where its at and Ill die on this hill. Thank you, this my TED talk.

This was my 2nd week in a row at this pub between 3 and 6pm, each time with 2-3 friends. Food is good, prices are decent but the waitress are biatches. We were definitely being polite and made a point to thank them each time when they brought drinks/food to our table. But their moodiness prevailed throughout both of our stays. Why are they working with the public? I ve read all the posted reviews and apparently this is an ongoing issue which has never been addressed. This afternoon we went to another local establishment and actually complimented the waitress about her people skills - she was friendly, smiled and pleasant to deal with. We went back the second time to see if it was just one bad day for the waitresses, but sadly that wasn t the case. Subsequently we will not return to Samz until things have changed.

Went in for a quick drink and food before another event. Even though it was packed the staff got our food out in a hurry. The food was fantastic and so was the service!
Samz in Poco used to be a regular spot for me, however we had moved away. Recently returning to the area, we hit Samz again and found it is still a great time. The new $10/$5 menu is a HUGE WIN as no other pub in the Tri Cities is offering a menu like this all day every day. This makes it a very affordable visit with cheaper drink and food options that dont suck. More of the Tri Cities pubs should offer this type of wallet friendly menu as these same items can cost upwards of $15-$20 elsewhere. They still have their daily specials as well, so there is something for everyone! The room is great with lots of windows and natural light, tons of TVs for sports and staff that gets you what you need when you need it. Some long time staffers as well so you know they treat their team well. WELL DONE SAMZ!
Love it here the people are fri3ndly, the food is good & the bartenders are super quick. I always order the Turkey & Brie BT (its so delicious) Keep up the good work guys!

Great service, very tidy establishment. Decent menu, prices are slightly above average. Their beer list could be better. The food is excellent, but their happy hour menu is nothing special and does not offer a significant discount. This location and the one in Langley are similar in most regards. They have earned a solid 4 stars, in my opinion a place has to be special to earn 5. While Samz is a decent pub, and their service earns that 5 stars, they are otherwise only slightly above average. 4 stars is a fair if slightly generous overall rating on my opinion.

$16 for 9 smaller sized wings even after battering. That s almost $2 a wing. Made the mistake of ordering 3 orders. That s $48 before tax for 27 wings. Also ordered the mini yorkies, tasted good, again small portion for the price.
The ambient and the atmosphere of the bar is warm and nice. About the drinks, I had one of my best cocktails ever! A classic mojito vodka with the right amount of each ingredient! The food was tasty, but I d say the amount of meat and chicken in the platters weren t as much as I expected for this price.

Had steak and eggs. Steak was overdone, I just ate it anyway. Also, sat in booth with an digital menu board on the table. Very distracting, ads on it as well. I had to put a menu in front of it. They should get rid of them, or have off buttons.

Ive come here for lunch two days in a row. Both days were filled with delicious food, amazing service, by two different servers. It was busy, but the food arrived hot, fresh and quick. I highly recommend 10/10!!

I drop in at Samz every so often and the biggest compliment I can give them is for a local independent restaurant bar they have franchise standards! What I mean is that the experience is always the same no matter what night or time of day I drop in. The staff all have the same attitude and the food quality is always consistent. The only down side I have really experienced is that sometimes service can be a bit slow but when you are always busy (which they seem to be) it is more forgivable.

Food was good. But service was so bad. The server was not a happy person. Took our order and looks out the window the whole time. When we asked when our food will get ready her reply was when it come out. This person should not be serving food.
I came in last year as its close to my office. The staff are fantastic and the food is great! Daily specials have a good mix of various dishes. Crystal and Robin tho, they are why come back 3x a week. I dont even have to ask for my preferred drink now. Crystal just knows. Thats good service!
I would leave zero stars for this pub, not because of foods rather than staff behavior, I went to the Sam pub with one of my greatest friend for the first time and I was waiting for 10 minutes to give the order and nobody care about that, when I called a staff she acted so rude and told me to leave the pub and we don t provide the service for you, I have never seen such a disrespectful act in any type of foods services, I hope this review ring the bell for the manager of SAMZ pub to make a movement on customer services,

The Samz is horrible, the worst slice and customer service in the city, and their staff act is terrible, I was there to meet one of my clients, and when I asked for service the staff acted so rude and angry and asked me to leave the place, I was shocked and I just left the place, I dont recommend this place at all, and I hope the manager of this pub will understand what they are doing to his business !!!
The food was mediocre and the fries were old and re-warmed. Really disappointing. I would ve liked to complain and have the food warmed up and fries replaced,but couldn t get attention of the server. The helper dropped the food off and ran, I had to call her back for sauce and salt and pepper. It never came. Everything seemed so half-hearted.

The Drag Show was a complete and Utter Drag!!!!!!!! Over booked for the venue, stuffed in like baits on a hook. Planted people to begin stuffing $5, then $50 into drag costumes, embarrassing all customers to do the same. Performers to walk between tables, NO ROOM for that!!!!,hahaha... Only those who were stuffing $ got any buck for their overpriced show. Complete GONG show!!!! Sorry to see them sell out..................Ive seen some really good drag shows, NOT THIS ONE> Shame on you!!!!!
Just.. ok.. ordered quesadilla, the chicken was the same as in my wife s sandwich, it looks like slice sandwich meat. Pretty lame. 2 pops came at $4 each, not even filled all the way up. Bathroom fixture cover plate screws were green DECK screws lol. No pride in ownership i guess.Wont make the effort to come back, since they dont make the effort.

A lot of 4 star reviews, yet every comment on those speaks highly of the place. Rate it appropriately, its not a 5bstar restaurant, but it is a 5 star pub! Jodie was our server, and with Mom recently moving into the area were trying all the local places to determine our favorite. Straight away Jodie nailed it, helpful, present, she was a great introduction to the place. The place is clean, big, the volume was just right... Next we had drinks, nice you have Fat Tug ... Then of course food. Ma had the butter chicken and I had the Philly steak sandwich... Shed have hers again, nice portion sizes, rice was fresh, naan was plentiful butter chicken sauce was butter chickenery. Philly steak? Best around town by far. Well be back for more!

Been to this bar way too many times. It s been a while. The service wasn t very attentive, but the drinks were great and the atmosphere hasn t changed and that s the way we like it.

Ordered two hot sandwiches, if we werent starving we would have sent them back. Avoid the grilled turkey and brie as it came out soggy with butter and barely toasted. Beef dip was fine but also not very toasted. Server was friendly and convinced us on not getting the onion rings. Prices are way up but the food quality sure isnt keeping pace.
I enjoyed that...the soup was good. The barley sandwiches were fine, albeit a wee bit pricey. Great service as well. British footy on and lots of fans on hand to sip and watch. Give it a try!
A wonderful PoCo sports bar with many, many high-resolution large-screen TVs. Good selection of draft on tap. Some of the best food youll find in any pub. Great service and ambience.

Our party of 12 visited the pub on October 12th. Regrettably, we can only give it a 1-star rating because theres no option for 0 stars. Initially, we booked a table for 8, but a few friends joined us later. We were informed over the phone that it wasnt a busy day and that we could come in and a larger table would be arranged for us. However, when we arrived and requested a bigger table to accommodate everyone, our server displayed extremely uncooperative behavior and began throwing tantrums. Throughout our time there, when taking our food and drink orders, the server repeatedly asked for clarification, making faces and engaging in borderline racist behavior. Its worth mentioning that we were regular customers, but this experience has led us to decide that it will be our last visit to the pub. We hope that the management can identify the server who attended to our large group that evening. Unfortunately, this incident has cost you the loyalty of a group of at least 12 customers.

Little gem of a sports pub in the heart of downtown Port Coquitlam with friendly staff, good food and many sports TV s.
The hot wings were so-so, not very crispy and tasted like an extremely salty no-name wing sauce. They sat as a solid lump in my stomach for a day. The noise in the pub was ridiculously high, and even our server remark that it was far too loud to even get our orders across clearly to her. No fault on her, but everything else kind of sucked.
For the price you have to pay you think the waitress would have a personality.. guess its a dying thing to have good service at a pub

This is a nice place for a cheap bite to eat. The ambiance is terrible on a sports night though. I guess its a sports bar so it cant be helped. Still, it would be nice if there was a corner of the room that didnt have TVs blasting.
Excellent burgers and an ok selection of beers. More local craft beer selection would be nice. Sometimes the waitress is unpredictably grumpy. Samz really needs to put in a bike rack. Theyre right beside the trail and there is no place to lock up other than their front steps. Edit: their Parmesan garlic fries are disgusting!

I went here thinking, There is no way this place could disappoint me, because Ive been to the one in Pitt Meadows a few times, so I already had low expectations. Well, let me tell you, they still managed to disappoint. My missus called the Sysco Menu, but I couldnt believe the potato skins order was 4 nugget skins for $16. No wonder this place was empty for Monday Night Football. Obviously just squatting here until they can tear it down for condos. Gross. Ripoff.
