Had breakfast here while waiting for a car repair in the area. Ive always wanted to try it as Ive heard good things. It was busy at 10am on a Tuesday but i was able to get a seat near the back. Its simply decorated and layed out like a little diner. They have a decent menu with typical breakfast items, including waffles and Bennys. I usually go for one of these options but I didnt go for the Bennys because it said it came with cheese sauce and not the traditional hollandaise (which I love!). I got the strawberry and whip waffle with a coffee. The prices are very good and affordable which is comforting. My waffle was $9.20 which is pretty cheap compared to other places. It was a bit chewy, not fluffy and came to the table kind of cooled. It wasnt the best waffle Ive had but it was ok. There was one server for the whole place and she was busy but very friendly and doing her best. I would like to try it again and try some other items to give a full review. Vegetarian options: Pancakes, eggs etc Parking: Spots available on the street out front that are up to 2 hours Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome

We ate breakfast in Amigo one week ago. The server was not nice and showing attitude to us. Egg Benedict was mediocre.

Order from these guys for the first time for delivery the food was cold and the eggs were still raw when we contacted them about their raw food they told us to take it up with the delivery service that they arnt doing anything about it.

Great home style breakfast. Excellent attentive service all at a reasonable price. Nothing like a family run place with regulars.

A small cafe that I often eat breakfast at with my friends. Not too many of these left around town. I prefer it over the chains. The breakfast food and the coffee is decent for the price. I have never eaten lunch here.

The food was delicious and quick! We arrived around 2:10 PM and received excellent service from our server. However, at 2:30 PM, a customer came in and asked to be seated, but they were denied because the restaurant was closing at 3:00 PM. This didn t make sense, as we were in and out within 25 minutes. When the waiter asked the kitchen if they could accommodate the customer, they were turned down.

I have been meeting my brother from Chilliwack and my aged Mom (whos in a wheelchair) at Amigo once a week for many years and still consider it the best breakfast for miles. Great and fast service. Mom at 95 yrs. old loves the blueberry explosion. She cleans her plate every time. Wheelchair accessibility: Totally accessible.

Good Food and friendly atmosphere is a MUST. The family friendly prices is a plus. Ordered for takeout for lunch at work also bought my family here, and we live in Coquitlam not poco lol

Came into port Coquitlam looking for the local greasy spoon for some breakfast and coffee. Found it right here, reliable family run place. At the tables were locals chatting and eating breakfast, coffee being topped up frequently. You should eat here.

Breakfasts are Awesome, Service is good at this little whole in the wall. Doesnt look like much when you first are seated but the food makes up for. Good size portions and fast service very friendly.

The food here is always delicious and well priced, service is friendly, and theyve really upped their decorating game since the last time I was in there. It feels very cute inside, I love this place.

I always love this place. Unbelievable prices! Great diner food- gotta go for breakfast. Sort of nice for privacy with the covid shields. I was there about lunch time, and they were very busy, but had a table, so no waiting! If you arent really excited about national and international restaurant chains you will probably like Amigos. Absolutely terrific to see a local independent doing a great job . Well done. Parking: Not a lot of street spots, but I went around noon and found a place 2 spots away.

Its an American menu, but its run by Koreans. Its good value for money, taste, kindness, quantity, and speed.

Can t fault this place for anything it s such a good go to for fast cheap delicious breakfast. Just tastes homemade and so fast n easy plus yummy options.

Amigos is a poco staple. The food is amazing, the service is well above par while giving a small town diner atmosphere. I was there for breakfast today and had left my debit card at home without hesitation the staff let me go home to get my card and come back to pay. 10/10 highly recommend

Inexpensive breakfast served with a lot of choices. Inside is decent. Not too shabby, not too bad. Quick service. A lot of seniors go here for special discount breakfast items. A lot of free parking around the block. Free coffee fill ups included. If you are looking for low key breakfast place, give it a shot

Im surprised by the high rating this restaurant got because its really lacklustre. Bf and I both ordered an Eggs Benedict. The soft poached eggs were hard, the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was made from a powder, and overall the meal was just unimpressive. The service was just okay and the price wasnt amazing. If youre in the neighbourhood, definitely go to Jimmys instead.

Found this little gem only a few blocks from home and couldnt be happpier! Hands down the best waffles Ive ever had. Lightly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The service was fantastic! The wait staff were very friendly and the food all came out fast and hot! Have been there many times in the two years Ive lived in PoCo and I would highly recommend it!

Great pancakes. I don t even like pancakes but it came with my omelette so I had some. I ended up finishing the pancakes without looking up once. Hands down the best pancakes in town. Beautiful carb angels melting in your mouth in a swirl of buttery syrupy goodness. Also, I don t know what kind of syrup they use but it s not as sweet as the usual stuff but adds to the buttery taste. Avoid the table near the back because you ll have the washroom door banging near your ear but if it s the only table open just take it and have some pancakes.

Very happy with our breakfast today. Traditional 2 egg breakfast with hash browns sausage and sourdough toast. Nice chunky hash browns, good sized sausages and sourdough toast was a nice option to have. Large glass of juice. Prices very reasonable! Service quick on a busy Saturday at noon. We will be back.

We stumbled on this breakfast place while we were visiting Vancouver and let me tell you. ITS WORTH EVERY BITE! This place is small but mighty in so many ways. The food is amazing, it s hot, it s crispy, perfectly cooked and comes with amazing hosts. They are very friendly and make sure they get your order right the first time! We as a group have decided that this is the only breakfast place we will be going to anytime we re in the city!! Definitely recommend!

I appreciate the music playing in the background. The atmosphere definitely gets a shout out from me. Condiments were provided, including water, as that s the first question that the server asks me once seated. The meal was delightful. Light and fulfilling, Amigo Pancake House can provide an excellent service to you. Highly recommend.

Well a small local place. Decided to take the risk and try their food. Nothing is over 15 bucks on the menu. I ordered the Pancakes with mushrooms and bacon and Hollande sauce for 11.99 . My Mom had the house special omelete with a side of 3 bacon for 13.29. Both taste excellent. My dad and brother had the combo burger and tasted great for 13.99 . We had coffee and juice. I ordered a side of 4 sausages. Thinking the 3 Pancakes are not enough. They were more than enough. The sausages arrived a bit burnt from the outside. So we had them replaced. We fed 4 people for 18.75 bucks a person including a 10% tip. Will be back for sure.

I have been here a bunch of times. I like stick to their breakfast dishes. Had the 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast with Bacon. Eggs were sunny side up & yolk was runny so I can soak up the yolk with the sourdough bread. Just the way I like it. Bacon was on the thicker side, which was good. & long pieces too. They let you choose from 4 different kinds of toasted bread Small Restaurant. Simple Decor. Like youre in a small town. Simple Breakfast dishes for a decent price. Cant go wrong with that.

Love this place. The last remaining greasy spoon that you can still dine in for two for less than $30 with tip. Any greasy spoon thats more than $20 / person hits my diminishing return. I would rather cook breakfast at home at that point. However, Amigo still charges a reasonable amount while pricing an amazing service. Hope they dont change!

Great little breakfast place. Serving sizes are fairly large and prepared with care. I had the Mexican omelet which was served steaming hot and came with three fluffy pancakes. Reasonable prices, not a cheap hole-in-the-wall, but reasonable. Parking: Street parking all around

Wonderful .one of the best. Their coffee is awsome. I suggest you their amazing omelets! Toasted sourdoughs, juices and... I like to go there everday but anyway resturant s foods are high calories so... One more thing, in the Covid pandemic, I went to many resturant but many of them dont check customers health card. This guys check one by one . I appreciate it.

While it s a shame that Mayor West has ruined downtown PoCo, this place is one of the few good things left.

Was my first time going to this place and as soon as I walked in I wanted to walk out. The food was so so but the service was the worst service I have ever had. When I walked in all the lady said was sit somewhere and I was waiting for my friend to come and she was rushing me to order I told her I m waiting for my friend. Once my friend came we ordered coffee and when we were ordering she kept messing up our order before she even made it away from our table. When the food came she just put the plates down and walked away. After we were done our food I went to go pay for our meal and then I went back to sit down and the lady comes back and says you didn t give a tip was that a mistake. I told her no it wasn t and I told her the service was bad and she s like u have to give tip. So my friend gave her two dollars and we left. Very disappointed about the service and how she asked that I didn t give her a tip. She was rushing us to order and didn t let us stay even though the restraunt was empty with lots of seats.

This is a really good local, small dining experience. The food has been good and the staff are friendly. The prices are amazing, its hard to find quality dines for a reasonable price these days. I will say though I wish the eggs benedict had actual hollandaise instead of cheese sauce. My only other critique is just overall cleanliness. Weve been here three times and the diner could definitely use some dusting and more attention to detail (windows/table bases/floors etc). Hopefully this is improved but we will be back.

absolute fail .. I don t think I have ever had more UNFRIENDLY service. Food was just ok condiments like jam and peanut butter definitely from the low bidder. Looks like the Ketchup sits on the table 24/7 365 days a year. How this place got on a google search for best breakfast port coquitlam is a mystery. BARF

The old man just came there for dining today s morning after he seated there they were yelling at him and touched him to kick him out for no reason!!! Pour man was shocked! I m still shocked how they treated customers!!! That s definitely racism and I feel sorry for myself to support this local business in my neighbourhood. They mistreated customers bc of their nationality. Rude stuff and they don t even know how to treat people!! If I could give them 0 star, I definitely would do that! Would never walk by this place, won t support racist business He called police and they denied everything even people saw that!! Poor man didn t say anything to them, he couldn t even speak English fluently! I feel bad for myself to being wittiness. Shame on you for racism and being rude to customers!

I have been there a few times food were great. It gave you the local diner feel. Food were awesome, price is reasonable. I realized there is one poor server out of all of them. For some reason, I believe she move on to find something she enjoy and can be enthusiastic about.

Wow. It was the first time that i dont want to give tips for server. She was rude . She was rushing me all time. Foods are 4/5. Service is not even 0.5/5 .

The food is great when working in poco I come here 5 days a week. The only down side is the waitress Monday and Tuesdays. She is miserable and throws food down. Seems angry all the time and makes dining in a chore other than that. Its a great place!!

I read some other reviews and had to laugh. Every single time I m in Amigo, some customer is being rude and pushy to the staff, but expect the staff to be nice about it! The food is always good, the coffee is fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the staff are doing their best. Maybe show up with some compassion instead of entitlement and you ll get the service you deserve!

Ive been looking for a Mom & Pops style restaurant for a little bit now. Let me tell you this place did not disappoint me at all. The prices are decent and Ill be going back to this place for now on.

Great greasy spoon style breakfast in downtown Poco. Prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of food. All the staff are nice and the coffees hot. We usually get their traditional breakfast and a side of blueberry pancakes. Will definitely return

Horrible customer service My family has been coming to Amigo for years; we have thoroughly enjoyed their good food and friendly service in the past. However, my husband and I had the most unpleasant experience from today s server. When we entered the restaurant, the server yelled out sit anywhere and walked off. After we were seated, she came back and threw the menu and cutlery on our table and walked off. We had to call her over 3 times to finally place our order and continued to observe the server being unpleasant, short and rude to all of the patrons. When our food was ready, she came over to drop the plates on our table and walked off again without saying a word. I wasn t expecting much and usually am not bothered too much by less than stellar service but this server s attitude was unacceptable. I have never experienced such blatant rudeness. When we were ready to leave and pay, my husband tried to make friendly conversation to the server despite her horrible attitude unfortunately she continued with her rudeness and barked at my husband to just tap your card on the pin pad. When my husband asked why she was so upset, she said look at how many people I have to deal with you should fix your personality before talking to me . Her attitude and response were totally unprovoked and uncalled for and needless to say we left with a very bad taste in our mouths. The food was tasty as usual but the horrible server left us with such a horrible experience that we will not be returning here for a while. The owner should really reconsider keeping her on the roster as she is chasing away customers.

Food was amazing and very very reasonably priced however there was a waitress who is very rude and seemed like she hated her job there. She gave us glares throughout our meal and rolled her eyes at us while she was taking our order.

I have never seen servers at a restaurant be so rude. No conversation at all just coffee or water when she came to take our order it was just one word ready . Terrible customer service and very dirty restaurant, coffee and water cups had specs of dirt all over them

A little disappointed with my takeout order. I ordered eggs Benedict poached soft, and they were poached hard as you can see in the picture the yolk wasn t runny at all, and my breakfast potatoes were just alright. The reason i am still giving 3 stars is because we also got the BLT and his meal was good and his fries were very tasty. But can t say the same for the eggs Benedict.

Pancakes where mushy and not really cooked well. Taste is just fine, box pancake sometimes better! Waffle and chicken was better but chicken was frozen probably from Walmart! Not great over all butcheap food! Fills you up but not quality! Service also is not great! Asked for syrup three times!

Fast, kind, tasty! I went here with my husband and son on a whim and it was excellent. Service was quick and so kind. I ordered the club sandwich with fries and both were amazing. Fries were hot and crispy! We cant wait to go back!

Great breakfast! We arrived around noon and were served only around 1 pm, but it was well worth the wait. Had the Very Berry pancakes, fruit and cream waffles, French toast and Mexican omelette between the four of us and wiped our plates clean. Recommend all four. OJ, coffee and tea were standard commercial kinds though.

Lovely little place! It was fairly busy, so a bit of a wait to get in, but once we were in the servers were attentive the time to get our food was pretty reasonable. The prices for what you get are fantastic. Way better value than Dennys or the like. Ill definitely come here again in the future.
