have been here twice in the past few months and both times the table beside us was served first and delivered food to while we waited an extra 5-10 minutes for our food. this is not proper service. last time we left with the food being 1/3rd eaten due to the service and other tables getting there food before us.

We had a breakfast today, we arrived before 10 am to avoid waiting. We got a table in 3 mins but behind us and during our stay the line was 8 or 9 people long. I got the waffles with back bacon and scramble eggs. Great drip coffee and nice staff, a place to go back again!

This place is my all time favourite breakfast spot to get pancakes and bennys! I love the pacifico benny and the bowser pancake. The portions are huge especially the pancake which is perfect for sharing.

This is my first experience of visiting this restaurant. In short: the waiters are great - they work quickly, are polite and friendly. I didnt like that I had to wait so long for my food. They brought me my coffee quickly, but we waited about 40 minutes for pancakes. I understand that the place is popular, we didnt mind standing at the entrance until there were free seats, but when we got there and after ordering we waited 40 minutes for our food, it was disappointing. The food is tasty, but not so tasty that you have to wait so long for it. Therefore, considering all the impressions, the rating has been reduced to 3 stars. It even seemed to me that the prices are a bit high relative to the dish. Therefore, I will say this, I will come back here, but only if they dont have such a rush. As they say: If you criticize, suggest. Here are my subjective recommendations for this place - Increase the opening hours to reduce the queue. Night owls crawl out for breakfast at noon and later, so there is no need to even change the positioning as a breakfast restaurant. - Opening another outlet is difficult from an organizational point of view, but you have awards for every year of your work and you are so popular! Conduct tests or surveys in another area and open another outlet there if the surveys show a positive result. I am sure you would succeed I will not talk about reducing prices - we have a free market here, you have the right) In the end, I want to say that this place is worth visiting if you are not very spoiled like me, or are just looking for a place for a delicious breakfast and are not in a hurry. But this experience for me is 3 out of 5

We have eaten here a few times, and have always been pleased with everything that these neigbors of ours have to offer. I am suprised that I have failed to give applause to them until now. BFP has taken an idea and made it quirky and fun. Situated in the corner storefront of a plain stripmall, farthest from the busy Lougheed highway, this is the gold at the end of the rainbow; a setting you wouldn t expect. Friendly and cozy (expect waiting in line), great times are wating to be enjoyed with their family. After several years of not being able to see my sister who lives in USA, it was quite interesting that my brother-in-law said, can we go to Big Flat Pancake again!? His first impressions have remained in tact from our previous visit. Portion size is determined by what you order on and in the pancke, but the pancake itself is as big as it can get on your plate. I m not sure that there is a stack version, but I don t think it s nesessary for the average appetite. The quality of the pancake is actually better from the last time I was here (just prior to Covid) - so let s call that a bonus star. Service - great! Friendly and team work here is evident, they work together! Coffee, good. I have had better, but the focus again is on the breakfast pancake. Savoury or Sweet - they re all very good, but regardless, pass the syrup please

Great little spot with friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere.

I had a disappointing experience at this establishment due to the behavior of one of the staff members, specifically Shauna. Upon arrival, instead of receiving a warm greeting, I was instructed rather abruptly to wait outside in heavy rain, despite the ample seating available in the waiting area. This experience was quite frustrating, and I cannot recommend this place based upon my visit.

I d like to tell management that an extra person on staff wouldn t hurt the bottom line. The two waiters were great,friendly and able but adding a runner/busgirl/busboy to get plates from kitchen to table, clear tables for the next guests, would ve made our visit even better. Im not a pancake person so I personally go for the Benny or hash bowls here. Food is consistent and good. Probably the best bennys in port coqutlam. They are so busy that they dont always accept takeout orders.

We went there today for the first time after just learning about this place the week before. Its a super cute place, kind of tucked away behind some other businesses. Our wait wasnt that long either (we got there about 10am on a Sunday). Loved the vibe and decor. Definitely not as big a place as I wouldve thought it to be, so that actually made it more cozy. Our server, Bruce, was AMAZING! So personable, he had us laughing and enjoying our experience there even more. I asked about his tattoos because they reminded me of kids drawings and he said that they actually are his kids artwork - LOVE that!! The food was delicious, too! Between the yummy food, the cozy atmosphere and the amazing server we had, we cant wait to come back again! We will surely tell everyone we know about this place and come back often, ourselves.

Great brunch fare with some Dutch influences, like panakoek and a variety of hash bowls. Service was attentive and friendly. It was an enjoyable atmosphere.

We have been going here to The Big Flat Pancake for over a year now and this is one of our favorite places to go. The food has always been delicious, no complaints. They have gotten to know us and what we like to eat and what we can t so Bruce lets all the servers know immediately. The Big Flat Crunch granola bowl is to die for and there is no skimping on the fruit. Cheese omelette is so flavourful, the little breakfast just the right size for me. Our friends have the Benny and there has never been one complaint from any of them and that is a good sign as sometimes it can be a hit or a miss with Benny s. Atmosphere is really good, love the music - my era of course. We have never had one bad server here though we mostly have Shona and she shows us that she is interested in getting updates from us. We ve also had Sean on the odd occasion and even Bruce has served us and I don t quite understand the reviews that have given them a 1 - luckily there are not many of them (2). We make allowances for the wait time to get in because of the food and the people. One review I read compared it to International House of Pancakes - WHAT - I m sorry as much as I like IHOP there is no comparison to this restaurant. Overall their prices are the same as every other breakfast restaurant as prices have increased everywhere but I feel that here we walk out talking about the food we had and the people we met.

Great food, very slow service

Had high hopes for this place with all the good reviews. However, the server was very rude and detached, we waited 35+ minutes for our food, and when it arrived, it turns out I paid $22 for a breakfast bowl with mostly potatoes and ZERO FLAVOUR. This was literally the most bland food I ve ever tasted in my life. If you re looking for a great place with smiles and tasty food, go somewhere else.

It was my first time here. I got chicken + waffles ($21) and a side of hashbrowns ($4) The waffles were good. Nothing special about them. The chicken was 3 small pieces of tender. It was not worth it. The hashbrowns werent actual hashbrowns. They gave me a small bowl of potatoes shaped like cubes. The servers were nice and very enthusiastic.

The peanut butter bacon and cheddar cheese eggs benedict was amazing.

BFP Co. Is a one off as opposed to a chain. This shows in the quality of the food and attention to detail. One of the owners was serving tables, always a good sign. I had an Andoulle Hash Bowl.it was a generous portion of fried potatoes, peppers, red onions and Andoulle sausage topped with 2 eggs and served with toast. It was as good as any Ive ever tasted. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I will definitely be going back

We showed up at opening (8am) the morning after Daylight Savings Time (so an hour earlier than usual!) because we had a party of 14. They set up tables for us, so that we could sit together. Bruce is the best server we have ever had, and we specifically went today because we knew he was working. The food was amazing, as always. The kids and adults alike enjoyed their selections. The food is great, but the people are even better. This is the first time we didnt have to wait in line, but the normal line is 100% worth the wait. Weve been coming for a few years, and will keep returning every time we visit from Vancouver Island. Thanks, BFPC!

Cozy little place with lots of windows and comfortable seating. The pancakes are delicious and everything is well prepared. Our wait for food was a little longer than expected. But overall it was a great experience I will return to for breakfast or lunch.

Our waitress she did not listen to my order I said no peppers she said ok wrote it down and when I got my food it was covered in peppers my eggs were raw. She never camera to ask us how our food was til the end. Told me I was going to get a discount and never gave me one when I got the bill. Very disappointed in this place as it was my first time going with my friends. Will not be going again anytime soon. :( And I found it overly expensive.

Stick with the pancakes (feels like a huge crepe), decent presentation. Chicken and Waffles are sub par, it almost appears someone took average sized chicken tenders and halved them. Average crispiness and waffle was okay. Service was good and they made it right by applying a discount when one order was delayed.

I came here for the 1rst time today & I cant wait to go back,I am not a huge pancake or waffle eater but thought what the heck try it out,the Best waffles I have ever had and the food & quality you can taste it. We ordered meat lover pancake and BLT sandwich. Sandwich was smaller than expected but food tasted good. Service was also good once we were seated. Only thing was having to wait in line for quite a bit although there were few empty tables (short staffed?). When we got there there were about 4 empty tables and around 4-5 small groups in front of us. Took about 1 hour from the time we got there to when we got our food.

Delicious food with clean tables. Food is well seasoned but not too salty. Fruits are fresh! One downside is that the place itself is small so you would need to wait in line for a bit if you come during rush hour. Be ready to be standing outside. The parking lot is also very limited so be aware.

Customer service was great food options are good, the price is okay but the food was warm and the turkey bacon needed to be crispier, but overall everything needed a little bit more time on the heat.

If there were more stars available, this place would get all of them. UPDATE: The PBB is back. This is the best day of my life. Vegetarian options: There is a bowl of ruffage for the vegetarians, and I ordered it once (albeit with an egg), and it actually slaps. Parking: Many spaces. Great location to accommodate. Kid-friendliness: Bruce loves kids. He may even steal yours for a few laps of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp is right out front of the door. Everything about this place is awesome.

Great place to pop in for brunch with an extensive breakfast menu and an incredible variety of pancake options. Be mindful that these are closer to crepes than traditional American Pancakes, but these dont disappoint on flavour! There are also a great range of sweet or savory options, as well as traditional breakfast choices. Ive removed 1 star as the service was quite slow - we ended up waiting for 15 minutes between having the dishes taken and the bill arriving. However, I would absolutely return again as the food was just outstanding!

Yummy waffle

Probably the finest breakfast place in the entire area, and Im talking about any of the cities outside of Vancouver. Theres a reason that there is always a lineup outside on weekends. If you go on a weekday, you can usually get right in. The food is amazing. Everything I try is superb, from the pancakes to the chicken and waffles, to the eggs benedict. This is a great place and one of my go-to breakfast places. Even if its a little ways out of the way for me, its worth the drive.

Google wanted an updated - still amazing! My first choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch but be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend (I hear good things come to those who wait though). The food is excellent, and you know it as soon as you walk in the door and see the wait--the earlier the better (at least on the weekends). The staff is super friendly and the prices are good. Food selection is awesome---whether you love your bacon or are a vegetarian there are multiple choices for your palette. Love that this restaurant chose Port Coquitlam!

arrived here at 10:45 and that s right when the line up stared to build up!! so i recc to come before 11 to avoid a long line up. we got old mac donald had a farm waffle and strawberry fields forever waffle which came out 15 mins after ordering! both were very delicious and the portions were huge

BFPC has delicious food, many options on the menu, and their service is awesome. Our server, Bruce, was so entertaining and fun to banter with! I could see all of the employees working hard to shorten the wait time and invest in the customer s dining experience. I ordered the Louis and Clarke Benny, with the avocado on the side. My egg was cooked to perfection, along with the crispy hash browns on the side. I will definitely be coming back here in the future!

A Favorite place to go on the weekend Super busy though.

Brunch is really good, has never disappointed. The parking is pretty limited though. And I would say they have a pretty early last call, would be useful if their last call was posted somewhere.

Let me tell you. Big Flat is the place to be for an unreal breakfast or brunch. Staff is always friendly and vibrant, and that Bruce guy what a hunk. Food is just simply delicious, and what a variety. To put it straight, Big Flat not only is the best breakfast establishment in BC but it has changed my life for the better.

Its an American-style brunch restaurant that looks new and clean, but is a bit expensive. An omelet costs about $19. The taste is average but the servers are friendly.

Its their policy to not seat anyone in a group until the whole party is there. Understandable when the restaurantis full but...you can imagine my insult when I arrived first to meet my friend and was told Id have to wait to be seated even though the restaurant was practically empty with only 2 tables of customers. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.

Great place for family brunch, low key, a bit loud at times. We didnt have to wait but there was a steady stream of customers.

My friends informed me of a pancake place in Oxford so I went this morning to treat myself as my morning didn t start quite right. I selected their popup feature and viola! The presentation was exceptional. All Staff are so friendly, specially the lady with short gray hair, so amazingly friendly and lots of energy to assist guests. I ll definitely come back.

You know a good restaurant when folks are lined up outside waiting! First time seated today for brunch. The menu is extensive. Coffees arrived almost immediately! I ordered a big flat pancake [fruit cheesecake cream] and my husband had a spicy omelette. Both delish!!! I want to stress the size of these plates! HUGE! Our smiling Server was attentive and fast. We waited about 20 min for our food so we were able to look around at what everyone was eating... gosh.. the eggs benny looked incredible. We sure enjoyed our time there and will be back to try many more dishes. Thanks for having us!

Tried to eat here, but the parking situation is a disaster, and after 15 minutes driving in circles we arrived at 1:45 and were turned away. The waitress told us they werent serving anymore. Disappointing, and we wont make the effort again.

I absolutely love the big flat pancake, sometimes the service is a bit slow but the food makes up for it. My usual go to thing is the hipsters hash breakfast bowl. This place is very busy especially on weekends so expect a bit of a wait but the line usually moves fast. HIGHY RECOMMEND BIG FLAT PANCAKE FOR A GREAT BREAKFAST!!!!!

My expectations were high coming here given all the suggestions we had coming here. Had to wait outside for 40 minutes. Food was okay for breakfast food - it was good but it s tough to go wrong with omelettes and egg benny. Good side portions for the adults but the kids pancakes were a very infilling for my kids. When people moved their chairs, it was like someone dragging nails on a chalkboard. All-in-all, it s a decent, busy spot for breakfast. 2 kids/2 adults = $120 (including tip)

Food is absurdly expensive, its very plain tasting. The portion size is insanely small and when we commented about the portion size, the waiter just laughed at us like it was nothing then didnt come to check on us for refills the rest of the morning. Would not recommend coming here, save your money and go to IHOP instead

Not really pancake fan but this was wonderful, thinner and larger and filled with bits of apple and bacon. The cream cheese wasnt too sweet. The 11am sandwich was mouthfuls of yummy mixed flavors and textures. They were so accomodating making special food for the Baby who devoured the half waffle made for her. Had huge hopes for this place. But the service was supremely disappointing. The servers were just lazy, they didnt even come to ask us if we needed anything during our visit. Most of them were busy gossiping in the kitchen. Took them forever to get our cheque. And this is after asking them twice. In addition, the table next to us was asked twice if they needed anything more. Maybe the servers here were just racist and dont want brown people in their restaurant. We had to be more polite than the servers themselves. But it was getting increasingly difficult to be polite to someone whos paid to be polite to us. And all this when there were just a few customers in the restaurant, not busy at all. Oh and the food was ordinary. Not returning here

I can t say enough about how much I love this family business!! We have been coming here for YEARS because the food is wonderful and the service is great. Everyone we bring here has absolutely loved it! My favorite thing is the feature menu which always gives you a reason to come back and try something new- give this place a try- they will not disappoint

The food is really good every time I have come here. Their menu is extensive and I am impressed by the features and the overall creativity! Also, the server with the red hair was the friendliest and most accommodating service I have had in a very long time. Vegetarian options: I got a vegetarian benny and it was really good. The hash browns were cooked perfectly!

I feel that service could be just a little faster if they have photos on their menu some people dont speak English or understand another thing I feel that it was pretty pricey very pricey with the amount of food I have received which I could have gotten at IHOP at better quality

The big flat pancake was so yummy, and i love the cream cheese whipped cream that comes with it.

We stumbled upon this place a day or two before our visit, the staff was super friendly, there was a great Christmas atmosphere and the food was excellent. Looking forward to go back.

Their service was really bad. Don t know what all the fuss was about. When we were 10 mins away we asked if they had a wait time and they said no. And right fully mentioned they would not sit us until all our party arrives. We got there and there were 2 groups ahead of us. But one of the groups continued to grow and they seated all of them before us. We had to wait for a long time. Their diversity acceptance was very poor. They only had pork meats available and one of the waitresses told us we could substitute the meat with Turkey Bacon but the other lady said there is extra fee with subbing. They were really understaffed for this number of customers. Management should spend some money on hiring more staff. Their attitude was not very friendly after we complained about the wait time. I do not recommend this place for families with children.

Its our first time to try their breakfast. We have to wait more than 20 minutes because its a Civic Holiday. The waitress greeted us and led us to our seats. Another older waitress took our order. She is a bit harsh in my opinion. We ordered ice coffee with cream but it did not tasted like it had cream. She then asked whether we would like to have cream and dismissively tossed us some cream. She noticed that I was surprised with her attitude, and claimed that we might be allergic with cream. We did not mention anything about allergies. We then have to wait for another 30 minutes before our order finally arrived as I saw that a couple behind us had their breakfast earlier. When I mentioned this to her, she said it is because making an omelet is takes longer than making pancakes. Im giving 2 stars for her service.

Ok first they have superior bacon. Its still thin dont get me wrong but say 2-3X thickness of a burger king bacon...not strips either like everywhere else but kinda round and very tasty. Their waffles are something I have to return for, others had them I just didnt want that much but just wow they look amazing. I had flat pancake and it was surprisingly light and airy, and didnt make me want to sleep 20mins later and comes with a massive scoop of whipped cream Highly recommend for breakfast and maybe just anytime

Great place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Friendly staff. Tried the Ham Hash, Hipster hash, and Jean Pierre benny( the rast beef was so tender and flavourful) Be prepared for a line up if you don t go in early in the morning. 12pm weekdays seem less busy.

May seem like a mom and pop shop, because... it is! The owners who run the place are always super friendly and accommodating, genuinely happy to see you, and always make you feel welcome. Their pannenkoek selection is awesome, and Ive never had a bad experience. The hipster hash big flat is especially habit forming, as is any of the eggs benny selection. It can be busy at times, as evident of the frequent line-ups outside, but the brunch that youll experience is well worth it.

Great place to go if you re looking for a place for brunch in Poco. Be prepared though, there might be a bit of a wait if you re going on the weekend. But it was definitely worth it.

Big flat blueberry pancake was delicious! My husband had the chicken and waffles which he said was awesome. Will definitely go again and highly recommend

Good food but no pick up on the weekends is lame

So it s really rare for me to complain, but when a place charges as much as they do you expect to get something you re happy with. I ordered their Chicken and Waffles for the first time. I mean technically sysco brand chicken strips are fried chicken, but that s not what you expect when your order fried chicken my waffle tasted good but it was cold when I got it. The service was still good. It does feel like since they jacked up their prices. It doesn t feel like you re getting the quality to match. Also, since it looks like I m not entirely happy with what I ve ordered my server hasn t come back to the table once.

Food was okay. My friend I were both charged DOUBLE the amount of what we ordered. We ordered a breakfast combo with the add-on option of big flat (pancake). We were charged as full price, as if it was ordered seperately. There was no negotiating the obvious misunderstanding after. As mentioned before, it happened to 2 guests on our table. I wonder, if this is a fraudulent pattern...

This was one of only two places that I will stand in line for. While the line over the weekend may be 30-45 minutes, they are always communicating with you on how long it will be, and most importantly the food is worth it. The menu is punny and the staff are great to interact with. Food done right, with care and love.

This is a gem of a breakfast spot! The food here is always Amazing! I have yet to have a bad experience here whether it be with their features of the month or service. Always have great experience here. It used to be Coquitlams little secret but now the secret is out. Be prepared to get their early or you will have to wait in line outside because of the great food and service, everyone wants to come here! It is my #1 go to spot when I take family or friends out for breakfast.

My favourite brunch spot - so i m reluctant to review it in case it gets even busier! (jk) but this spot is really all you could ask for in a brunch spot - great food, great service and really fun seasonal menus. Lines are long on the weekend and yes there can be a bit of a wait for the food but it s totally worth it for the quality and quantity of food. Truly can t say anything negative about it.

My friend and I love to meet here for brekky! I had the Ham Hash and it was just the right balance of meat, veg, egg and Hollandaise! Good thing I dont live close to this place or Id be there daily!

The Regular Breakfast -Eggs and Bacon was very greasy,Bread was very Dry , Service was slow, Floors were dirty when we arrived at opening and watch from the Next Group being seated at our table without them wiping the Table down. I would say stick with ordering Pancakes, Waffles or Drinks . I would not return to this place . Very unhappy

This was our first time here and it was fabulous! Food was delicious, service was great (a bit slow but they were super packed so thats why, they couldnt circle back around quick enough but it was understandable with the amount of customers they had!)! Their brunch time is really busy so plan for a little bit of a wait before youre seated. We waited 20mins but again thats a typical wait anywhere on the weekends at that time. Will we go back again? You better believe it! Kid-friendliness: They offer crayons and a colouring sheet for your kiddos plus a kids menu!

We absolutely love this place. The food is amazing. The only thing I have issue with is seating 2 people at the table that can seat 4, which causes longer wait. Today, was extremely long wait as the party before us wanted a specific spot. So they had to put 2 tables together to fit all 4 of them, while there was already a table for 4 free. So they ended up seating other 2 people at that table... I am not sure if they will change anything in terms of seating after my review, but something to consider in the future. We will see you gain.

We went there on a Sunday around 9:30am. No surprises or complaints regarding the waiting time, thats expected for a small breakfast place. Service was good and the Old Mcdonald place was delicious. The waffle and hot chocolate were out of this world! The Bowser, big pancake with banana, was not as good as expected... But for sure we are coming back in the future to try more options.

We had our brunch here at this local restaurant . We ordered classic benny and a big flat breakfast with additional pancake. We really liked our plates, everything was fresh, delicious bacon and sausages plus bottomless coffee. Fast service and great vibe.

Cute little mom n pop restaurant with an immense menu. Delicious waffles, tender and fragrant with delectable toppings. Pannekoeken, omelets, sandwiches, eggs Bennie...the list goes on. Great waitstaff too. Highly recommend .

One of the best places in tri-cities for a brunch or a heavy breakfast. The pancake dough is very light and tasty. All plates come with a big portion, so you wont get hungry here!

This was my first time visiting, and I will definitely be back. Their menu options for hash bowls and pancakes is extensive, with something for everyone, including gluten free options. It has a great atmosphere inside, with friendly and quick service. The food was really tasty and came really quickly. A great spot for breakfast or brunch!

Waited 20 mins in queue to be seated and over 30 mins more to receive the order. The food wasn t even worth the long wait. It was already cold when we received it which really threw me off. Felt like the food was sitting out for at least 10 mins before getting served. Side of fruits we ordered was also not fresh but rather bland.
