168 New Lakeshore Rd, Port Dover, ON N0A 1N3, Canada
Refined Canadian restaurant with lake views offers an upstairs lounge featuring weekend live music.
We celebrated my husband's 80th birthday last Saturday. They accommodated eighteen in our party. We were extremely happy with everything. Erika was so helpful with the planning. Trish was our main server. She was excellent. Our guests were very impressed. Thanks to the chef and his team. The food was delicious. My husband's brother from London On, had never been here before. He said his steak was the best he had ever had. Thank you again for a wonderful evening. Doug and Shirley
Really classy place to go. Food excellent. I had the pork chops with Mashed potatoes and it was perfectly done and only needed to be spiced up with their pepper sauce which Emma brought over for us. The team had various different food and the servings were all a lot. See pictures. The service was really great a d no complaints from us. There was a vegan lasagna which seems really good . Whatever is the chefs recommendation for the day I went with and there was no regret. Pork chops was good it's not on the list below but the chefs
An absolute hidden gem, we visited David’s Restaurant after a site visit from a battery storage site. This place lived up to its highly rated reviews. Not only is the scenery of the restaurant overlooking Lake Erie stunning but so was the food. The restaurant gave fine dining vibes, the prices were extremely refreshing compared to the insane fine dining Toronto prices. Most of us had the pickerel, which was fabulous. Very friendly service with decent amount of parking. Some gorgeous houses by the water as we arrived to the restaurant on New Lakeshore Rd. Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoy our visits to Davids, food, service, atmosphere is wonderful. Looking out on the lake while having a glass of red, with a 14oz ribeye can't be compared! Thanks always Matt Picture attached was the stuffed pork chop! Also amazing 👏
Best view of lk Erie.. lovely romantic spot for lunch.on 3 floors.we we seated in a room off to the side so it was very quiet..will come back and try nonnis outside patio in the warmer weather..had fresh pickerel and fries
Amazing food and amazing view of the water. (Nonni's - David's Lakeside restaurant) It was a clear day. I went with a friend after spa time to grab a quick bite. We ordered Margherita Pizza and Italian Dusted Chicken Wings. Both were delicious. I especially loved the seasoned wings and pickled veggies. YUM!!! I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. A beautiful view and delicious food, you really can't go wrong with that.
My favourite restaurant in Dover, no doubt. My friends and I will go on a road trip just to come here and eat. That’s genuinely the purpose of the trip. David’s always has the tastiest food with tremendous service. The plating and cocktails always surprise me. Seldom do restaurants in smaller towns have a solid cocktail list but David’s knows what they are doing.
It was so nice to be able to go back to a restaurant again! David’s has such a lovely view and their new patio is gorgeous! I love that they cook as much as they can in the outdoor kitchen! Everything was so fresh, local and delicious! The cocktails were fantastic! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Their Arancini balls are to die for! And I love their new large sharing dishes! Will definitely be back with more people so we can order the other huge dishes on the menu! Only 1 small thing I was a bit disappointed with was drinking my wine out of a water goblet. I know we’re outside on the patio but a stemless wine glass would be much appreciated. Look forward to returning again soon!
Corn chowder was amazing.
Very expensive for the small portion of pickerel at noon!
Had a good visit for lunch. Food was tasty, service good. The last couple times I went the food was okay, but this time much better.
Been here before, past years. Was really good. This time? Not even close. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. Massive mistakes on a few fronts. And with what mattered most... Brought my local mother here on her 90th birthday, just the other day, Nov 13/24, driving all the way from Michigan for our visit. And this was to be our main food event... 3 of the 4 of us ordered the $60 tenderloin. All medium rare. My mom was even feeling bad about ordering the tenderloin on price alone... Well, they came not at all medium-rare. A part close, perhaps, a better part medium, and the greater part medium-well to actually well-done. Each steak was the same. $60 tenderloins!!!! I was SO infuriated as my mom couldnt even easily cut through her tenderloin. I didnt want to make a scene --- it was my mothers birthday. Would have otherwise made a massive issue over it all at this price point. HUGE. For at WHAT high-end restaurant do you need to order rare to get even close to medium rare?? Wasnt a mistake. They all came this way. This is an inept kitchen. What a clown show. So...dropping all THAT, we were all full. But my mother, again, there for her 90th, wanted a cheesecake desert. Came to her all pretty, about an inch and a half wide, inch-tall. And --- my god --- the server AT THE SAME TIME presented them with a freaking coupon for them to come back with and get a discount on a dessert. Like...WTF. I took immediately quietly stood up and took the waitress aside, and said...hey...we are spending $500 on this meal. The high end steaks sucked versus our orders...and youre gonna charge a single desert for a 90th birthday, and offer them a freaking coupon for when they come back???? $500 MEAL, FOLKS!!!! I will never, ever return to this rip-off restaurant. This is mid-end. But they will make you pay high-end. To a measureably further degree than I have seen as a world traveler... I am all about a high quality $500 meal. This was so far from that. Never again. This aint close to it.
Family birthday dinner was wonderful. I especially enjoyed getting to try part of my wife s rib steak. Where do you get your beef?
Great little spot in the water. Ill be going back.
Terrible service. Over 40 minutes to get a drink to the table. We even had a reservation and the service was extremely slow.
Very interesting place, a fantastic view of the lake. Very pleasant and quiet environment.
For paying top dollar you expect more ... the greens in salad should be fresh and crisp... not wilted
Disappointing experience at David s Restaurant regarding food allergy management On August 23, 2024 our family dined at David s Restaurant. In preparation, the manager was contacted and their food allergy practices were discussed as one of our family members have severe food allergies. On the day of our reservation, our waitperson seemed unaware of the food allergy status of our group despite that the specific details were communicated upon booking. Once we alerted them of the food allergies again, they addressed our questions and took our order. Unfortunately, after only a few bites of food, our family member began to develop the first signs of an allergic reaction. Shortly thereafter, the waitperson was notified and they said everything was written down that was previously discussed. They left and later returned to say that the kitchen staff was uncertain what may have happened. In the interim, another waitperson inquired whether the individual having the allergic reaction required a take-out box for their barely touched meal. The primary waitperson apologized and suggested that we should try dining again. To our disappointment, there was no indication that any further action was going to be taken. We understand that restaurants cannot 100% guarantee that allergens can be avoided. Yet, when incidents occur, they can take the situation seriously and strive to understand where the shortfalls occurred to ensure a safe dining experience for the next family. For establishments that over sell and under delivery, we suggest that they reassess their food allergy practices as people s lives are at risk! If there isn t a sincere interest in safely providing meals to those with life threatening food allergies than it is best not to. In the end, it was business as usual for David s Restaurant.
The patio welcomes dogs. Which is a great plus! The cuisine was exquisite! The fried baby potatoes are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Would definitely come back.
Simply Amazing
Amazing food, staff and views
Atmosphere depends a lot on your own mood. Two of us eating experienced our privacy and had the occasion to talk to other people in s polite exchange of kindness and laughter. Parking:
A terrific spot with a beautiful view of lake Erie that goes clear to the US side. The staff makes the experience all the better
5th annual trip to Nonnis in the summer at Davids in Port Dover. For the price we paid the food was very mediocre. We had about 6 plates to share and Nothing was horrendous but nothing was awesome. Portions werent great size either, spent $250 for 3 ppl including 2 beers each and had to stopp off at a fast food restaurant after as we were still hungry. Not great value for money.
The patio is beautiful, unfortunately the menu is very limited.
Service was great. Only down side was that it was so foggy that we could not see the lake. Not controllable by the restaurant.
On our recent day trip to Port Dover we stopped for brunch at Davids. Located on a bluff overlooking lake Erie with a beautiful panoramic view. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff (so far so good). But then the food arrived! Breaded pickerel and fries....a doughy veneer of flour and oil wrapped around a modest piece of fish, accompanied by stringy french fries with the appearance of cold oily fish bait. Fish and chips is restaurant 101. If you cant master a simple hot crispy fry, you are in the wrong business. This dish, plus an omelette with two glasses of wine was $135.00. It included an 18% tip, which was well deserved.
Absolutely perfect birthday date. Highly recommend to everyone!
I can confidently say that this was by far one of the best dining experiences Ive had! This was my first time here, and I will most definitely return! Our server, Jane, was definitely the star of the night. Her professionalism, courtesy, knowledge and just overall friendliness made our visit that much better. I ordered a Caesar salad for my appetizer, and it was stupendous. The dressing was light but I think it actually enhanced the taste of the other ingredients. The lettuce, cheese, croutons and bacon were all fresh. Honestly probably the best Caesar salad Ive ever had. For my main course I had the baked Beef Stroganoff. Another classic dish! This was a delightful take on what I would consider comfort food. The beef, mushrooms and noodles were all cooked to perfection, and the portion size was satisfactory. Jane also caught wind of the fact that it was my 49th birthday, so I was treated to a dessert consisting of a chocolate truffle, cream, fruit compote (I think), and fresh strawberries. Id highly recommend Davids as a worthy destination, and a hidden gem worth discovering!
Lovely Anniversary lunch there today. Service, food and scenery all excellent
Had high hopes for this place but unfortunately the food was terrible. I can tell the Brussel sprouts were deep fried and full of oil there was none of the flavors the waitress mentioned steak overdone and no flavor. Staff were awesome and super nice made a yummy drink. Place is nice but the food needs work the presentation of the food was nice but blah
Very nice place. Excellent food and service. Spectacular view on the lake. Food
Excellent staff, fabulous fish and terrific view. Special burger was over cooked. Food : 4/5
Food, service, ambiance ... perfect. Worth the 5 stars
We just stopped by while staying in the area to see the eclipse. Davids was delightful. Our party of 6 loved the hospitality and our lake front view table. My Cosmo was one of the best Ive had. Most of us had the delicious baked stuffed oysters, then enjoyed our entries with a glass of wine. Id been looking forward to trying Stroganoff again for some years and Davids was worth the wait. The Atlantic salmon, pork chop, chicken and steak were appreciated, too. I failed to resist the pana cotta, which was delicate and a personal favorite, and the cheesecake was tasty. So happy for such a great experience on our last night in Port Dover. Wheelchair accessibility: One of us uses a wheelchair and it was easy to get from parking to the table.
Asked the owner to permit our family to bring uL certified safe, portable air cleaners with us to eat at the restaurant to ensure air was even cleaner for our family. Owner refused. Why would anyone not want cleaner air in their public-facing restaurant? Questionable whether or not the air quality is good at all in that building now. Seems like he is hiding something. Might be a good idea for public heath and safety inspectors to check their air quality.
Went again yesterday (Valentines Day) and greeted by a packed house. But the staff continued with there five super-star performance. Thanks to the Manager for helping along with servers, bus and the delicious Surf and Turf we had from the kitchen! This place continues to keep the bar very high that few places anywhere can reach. Tag on the stellar view of Lake Erie and it make for a perfect lunch or dinner location! Thank you Mark and the whole team.
Tuesday night Date Night, a good deal, the view from our table of the lake was worth the price. The meal was excellent as was our server Mckenzie, between her and our friends we had the most fun we have had in a while. The house Cabernet was very good especially at half price. Couldnt ask for a better time. Well done Davids
Great location, stunning view of the outdoor seating area and the lake. The food was delicious and the service was prompt, attentive and non-intrusive. Highly recommended and we look forward to enjoying the outdoor area when the weather gets warm.
Nice dinner, good service. Enjoyable place for a quiet dinner.
It was a magical lunch beautiful view of Lake Erie - delicious food and excellent service
We like to visit for Sunday Brunch. Terrific views, great menu and great service. Really to me this is an underutilized Norfolk County asset. Recommended
Great meal and beautiful location overlooking Lake Erie.
This is an outstanding place for casual fine dining. There is a large menu. Service is formal and so enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are many large windows looking out on beautiful grounds with Lake Erie just a few dozen yards away. Pricing is higher but quite reasonable. Bravo to David s!!
Drove two hours to port dover for my birthday from new york made a reservation here weeks ahead on the night of my birthday. this is our second day here and we ve had great experiences with locals we met and other restaurants and no problem with our ids. The restaurant manager do not know this woman s name but she came over to double check our ids because we have out of country ids she said she didn t think our ids were realso we proceeded to show her a passport and birth certificate and she became extremely disrespectful and said we were being sassy when we pointed out the state and birthday and that we had to leave? we haven t had a problem with our ids anywhere else and we used them to get across the border. I d also like to add that 2/4 if the people in my group are poc and no one else in the restaurant was, and she specifically picked on one of them about their id may i add which just really rubbed me the wrong way by her demeanor.
Beautiful view, fabulous steak!
We will not be returning! This place used to be good but has gone down hill! Wait time was over an hour for bread and appetizers. Finally when our $18 appetizer salads came they were sub par at best, my Caesar had barely any dressing and zero flavour. After 2 hours of waiting for our mains they were nothing to write home about. To top it all off the manager that evening, Erika made excuse after excuse about why the service was slow ie. there was a large party there. If they told us the wait would have been a bit longer because of that we would have been completely content with drinks (and bread if they had brought us some). Overall a very lack luster experience. We gave two stars because the view was spectacular.
Orginal post to tripadvisor.... Service was horrible Mark the owner included was very unprofessional when confronted why soup and ceasar salde and fish take over an hour to cook started at 730 and order went in at 802 pm and by 9pm nothing not even an explanation as to why we are waiting so long and on top of it the server was asked why there was no bread or even a offer of something to hold us over for the hour plus wait and started to cry because she was being questioned by the table as to why and it was implied its not our fault you sat down after a table of 30 and another one 10 are being severd and not one mention to us there would be very long wait to get our food...fine dining is not what you get when you go to Davids. I will never go back again it was like entering the twilight zone....beautiful view that is it!! I wish the silent owners did something as this restaurant is far from any stars and what is served in Port dover as fine dinning can be considered merely window dressing for a very unprofessional establishment and management. The wheelchair accessibility doors do not work
The food and the atmosphere and the staff were all excellent!! Our waitress, Jane, was so nice and extremely helpful and sensitive to my friends hearing loss. Overall great experience
Had dinner here and it was very good. The service and view are exceptional. The food itself was phenomenal. My only minor issue is that mains only come with one side and additional sides are $5. So if you want steak, veggies and potatoes you would need to pay an additional $5. For what it costs you wouldnt expect that sort of penny pinching. I would absolutely go back there without hesitation as everything else was great.
We had a table for 4 and were seated right away by the window. We had an amazing view of the lake. The servers were amazing also. They kept your water glass filled and were very knowledgeable about all the menu items. The perch was VERY good! The steak and lamb that people ordered at our table also looked very good. The Caesar salad was good but very light on the garlic. Im giving the restaurant only 4 stars because we all felt like vegetables should have been an automatic side along with the one that you could choose, not pay an extra $5 for the vegetable if thats what you want with your potato or fries etc. I would expect at a fancy expensive restaurant like Davids, they would add something as simple as a side vegetable. Great overall though but maybe the owners consider what Ive written.
Vegetarian options: Good Food
Ive eaten here 4 times. Never had anything other than an excellent service and food. Highly Recommend.
White wine selection was Chardenay Blend ONLY as a alternative for Sauvignon Blanc or Pino Grigio and not very good.
Service was mediocre, WAY OVER PRICED!!! Food was okay, nothing to go out of your way for that s for sure!! People who say it s great have no idea about how a restaurant should be. Table for 2, couple glasses of wine, 1 cocktail each, no dessert, simple app(Caesar salad was disappointing to say the least) not fresh and dressing was tasteless. I ordered the salmon, asked for it crispy on the outside medium inside. Not too difficult right?? It was pale and also tasteless. And to top it off it was served in a bowl?!! Will never go back!! People out there, open your eyes!! It s only for the view, that s it!! Shame on you David s!!!!
Cant wait to go back. A wonderful view of Lake Erie. With excellent food in an atmosphere where good conversation can happen (as in quiet so you can)
A hidden gem! Food is great and the staff are incredible. Shout out to Erika who is always there with a welcoming smile.
Beautiful, romantic, elegant lakeside patio (Nonnis Fresca Cucina) added with scrumptious food and excellent service! Highly recommended place!
Been there 7 times and some were good and some not so good. Was recently there with a party of 11 all of which are 50 plus years old. After our second drink order, which took forever, we were asked who was driving. Over three hours there and I managed to order 4 drinks. Two of us had to send our steaks back due to being overdone. When the new steak came out I was told that was rare. It was not rare, it was medium, the way it was supposed to be. Highly overpriced for what you get. Vegetables was one piece of squash and two cherry tomatoes. Just a joke. None of us will be returning. My money can be better spent elsewhere.
While the food was indeed delicious, it did take a very long time. Over half an hour for starters (caesar salad and daily soup). My husbands drink sat empty for 20 mins before our server came to see. Not once did the server come to us to acknowledge the obscenely long wait. It was not busy in there at 7pm yesterday. We had to wait another 20-30mins after we finished our starters for the mains. I had to mention to the server we wanted her to order our desserts before we were even finished our mains because we didnt want to have to wait so long for that. We are not sure if we would come back or recommend it. The quality and taste of food is what would bring us back to try again.
Over the course of many years I ve frequent David s and have always been very satisfied with the quality of service and food, last Saturday night was the absolute worst service and the food was disgusting, will never recommend or return
Not worth the time nor the money for extremely rude servers and over priced food thats not worth it.
Loved dining at Davids! Great food, great atmosphere! Perfect place for a classy Christmas dinner! Will definitely be back! Food : 5/5
Had a great steak and my wife the fish and soup was good as well. The manager is very gracious accommodating and my wife was very happy.
Dietary restrictions: Great Gluten-free friendly options Food
Fabulous dinner. Great ambiance.
We Had a Family Dinner of 15 Guests. I Cant Say Enough About How Great the Experience Was. Staff Extremely Professional and Pleasant and Efficient. Food Selection was Outstanding and Prepared Perfectly. Evening was Absolutely Perfect. Thankyou Davids. I Would Definitely Recommend ..
Absolutely excellent best restaurant ever
Absolutely 5 stars food is delicious staff is excellent atmosphere gorgeous
Fantastic experience! Ordered the New York Striploin. It was filled with amazing flavors and the fries were some if the best Ive ever eaten. Better New York Striploin than The Keg! The staff were all very friendly and met all of our needs. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE PLACE FOR A DINNER DATE..GET THERE, WITH A RESERVATION OVERLOOKING THE LAKE...YOU WILL SCORE SOME POINTS,
Amazing staff, food, and view
Food was fantastic. Knowledgeable and pleasant waitress. Great view over the great lake. Great evening out.
Great atmosphere, views of the lake and delicious food. Their date night was awesome.
Had a great evening with friends! Food was amazing. Service was amazing.
Food-excellent Service - excellent Atmosphere - excellent
Good food but a little slow service.
Experienced staff
Another wonderful evening at David s! The food was delicious and the service outstanding, thanks to our server Jen. We all enjoyed a negroni cocktail, red wine and the date night special . Our table looked out onto the beautiful lake which just added to a perfect evening.
We had a wonderful Birthday Party!! Everyone was very pleasant and helpful!! Mazoltov!!
Outstanding! Davids offered a beautiful lunch experience to my tour guests which was delicious, locally fresh and elegantly presented. Thank you for such a memorable multi-sensory visit. Cheers, Jan
Very good
Maybe we ate on an off night compared to others. The view from inside out over the lake is great. The service was quite good as well. The food was just ok. The Calamari is dusted and served with a marinara sauce, which was more pub like than fine dining. The Striploin was pretty tough. Had to saw through it. Not grizzle, just tough. At $43 accompanied with about 6 pieces of asparagus, you would expect a higher grade of striploin. The Beef jus was very tasty though. The tenderloin my wife had was quite good and tender. Like I said, maybe an off night.
Lovely food. Wished we came for dinner instead of lunch...a much better menu after 4pm
Excellent food. Great service. Pricey
What a wonderful restaurant. Our server was amazing, the view was gorgeous and the food was divine. A fabulous dining experience. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Nonni s - the outdoor dining experience at David s is just a summer gem! A great reason to take a day trip as it s 90 mins away. The high quality food and cocktails , service and stunning lakeside scenery add to the experience. Loved it so much we ve been twice In The last month! Looking forward to trying David s (indoor) soon. My only critique is the experience getting to the bathroom - you are walking through a staff area that doesn t match the customer experience.. this takes away from the upscale experience a bit. With a customer friendly solution to this, I d give Nonni s 5 stars.
Excellent dinner on Tuesday Date night. The staff and food are top notch and it is a must go to if you are looking for a great dinner or drink when in the Port Dover area. We will be back... Parking: Lots of paved parking
Will never return. Wanted to stop in for a drink and check out the menu. Was told they were full for the night on a Tuesday at 6:26 with an entirely empty restaurant. Went upstairs to see the bar and was told it was full which it was empty with one table seated. Way to bring in a cliental during these trying times. Goodluck to you.
We had never tried Davids before thinking that it was priced out of our comfort zone but bought the Prix Fixe in conjunction with tickets to the Lighthouse Theatre and, OMG, this is now seriously the only pre or post theatre restaurant in Dover for us. So Good! And it comes with incredibly gracious service. Well done Davids!!
Great place with a fantastic ambience. Love the food and the stunning view of the lake is totally an add on. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area!
Great meal, great views excellent service. Its nice to have restaurant of this quality in Port Dover.
Loved the Sangria, maurguarita pizza & the view!
Delicious foods and great view
We ate on the patio looking at the lake Both the food and the location were great
Awesome buffet lunch for our corporate team building event!
Vegetarian options: vegetarian omelet. friut Parking: lots of parking Kid-friendliness: its a fancy restaurant. children are welcome but not really any kids menu.
The view is fantastic & the food is even better. Love dining here as Im never disappointed with the food or service.
My wife and I stopped for dinner after taking in a show at the Lighthouse Theatre. The dinner package menue was affordable and had excellent entre choices. From the moment we stepped in, service was exemplary. Erikas personal attention and rapport was amazing. The dinner was delicious with both steak and fish prepared to perfection.Thank you for a wonderful evening. Cheers T. and P. Omemee, Ontario.
2 Restaurants here, 1 inside (Davids) 1 outside (Nonnis). We went to Nonnis, service was good, food was tasty price was reasonable. We plan to go back to try Davids which is more formal.
Food and staff were fantastic. Large portions. And delicious. Recommend for a private event.
So very expensive, not a lot of variety/meal choices and small portions. But a beautiful view.
Great views and food
Found this beautiful gem.. View is spectacular.
Absolutely beautiful... Our lunch meals were amazing .. Friendly staff, kind ... With a stunning view.. Outside sitting area...
Parking: Service was terrible. Good so so. Been going for 10 years this is the worst it s ever been. This place was our go to spot. Not any more
A great dining experience last night, food, service all excellent. I would give more stars if I could.
Date night is a good deal. Limited choice but very tasty and well-presented. Relaxing atmosphere with a great view.
This was a perfect meal the service was great had the surf and turf.I couldn t stop thinking about that meal can t wait to go back and I wish I could remember our servers name she was amazing.
10 out of 10. By far the best meal my wife and I have had out on date night. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the appetizers were great. The main course was best we had. It was not cheap, but I will say it was worth every penny. Staff were also very polite and well versed on the menu options. Hats off to Davids.
Favourite place
Food service & ambience equal to ANY 5 Star Toronto restaurant, & only 10 minutes from where we live. PERFECT
Food was good! Staff was great!!! The view makes it a 5 star!!!!!
Everything tastes even better with a view like this!
Very relaxing cozy atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food cooked perfectly.
By far the best dining experience and the food is second to none. Never disappoints
As usual another great experience The service was amazing Thank you
Delicious take out tonight. My 12 ounce rib eye was 16 at least, perfectly cooked. Lunch tomorrow as well! New outdoor kitchen looks great, looking forward to the summer.
Great food great service Great view
Great service, wonderful staff! The food was awesome! Ill be back again. Portion size was large for fine dining, so often Im left feeling hungry not here! Give it a try you wont regret it!
Amazing food, quality and freshness at its finest! Service and friendliness of the staff was great. Been a few times now and recommending to everyone. Wonderful experience
Enjoyed the day in Port Dover . Got to see this view and great cars. Davids (Nonnis patio) has great food with a view.
Loved my experience at Nonnis. My server Sam was wonderful and Tim the Chef did an amazing job! Dinner with a view! A must try if you are visiting Port Dover! I recommend it to anyone!
Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Glad they are open for inside dining again
Polite, friendly Staff. The vegan options were planned for a wedding and were fairly decent. More substitutes would be great but I wasnt expecting too much.
Food was excellent, great view of Lake Erie. Very nice outdoor seating area, you can dock your boat here as well. I highly recommend it:)
Beautiful soot great service. Wonderful view if the lake
Just had dinner at Davids and I cant say enough the food was spectacular . I will be back next time my budget allows.
Great view on Lake Erie
Davids is easily the only restaurant I have ever been to repeatedly without any issues or problems. The staff are always so friendly and happy to help with anything you require while the food is amazing. Nothing terrible on the menu and always cooked to perfection. I would easily recommend Davids any day of the week for any occassion.
Good variety on menu. Good quality food. Excellent fresh oysters. Very helpful staff. Rockefeller Oysters need some work. Ribeye was nicely cooked (med rare) but could use a slight quality upgrade. NY Strip was good. Pickerel was good. Rice Pudding was on the sweet side. Great view of the water and sky.
Waited 2 years to take my bf here for his bday... booked a reservation a week in advance to ensure we had a table by the windows! I was very disappointed when we were told that wasnt available even though I specifically requested it. Good thing we had such a wonderful server (Mackenzie :) and good food to make up for it! Still rate 4 stars because the staff was so great!
Excellent service; great food
Had a wonderfully awesome time at date night, it was my husbands Birthday. Wait staff was fast, personable and super nice, bartender made the best ceasar ever. We both had the steak, can i say yum! Super atmosphere, views and food.
We are new to Port Dover and have visited several local eateries and have been impressed by the quality of food at reasonable prices we held off going to David s until our wedding anniversary for what we hoped would be a special treat we got quite the opposite we ordered oysters which where delicious we did not receive our entree until a full hour after our appetizer we ordered 10 mins before a table of four beside us and received our main 15 mins after them! . Your paying top dollar at this place and you have to ask if you want bread? When our meals arrived I had ordered a medium rare steak it was medium at best and cold! As was my wife s so we returned them and received to my horror the same piece of meat which was now well overcooked so thanks David s for an underwhelming experience!
Great lake view
A must stop when in Port Dover area. Food is delicious and exquisitely prepared & presented. Our server Mackenzie was so lovely, friendly but in her eagerness discarded a flute of Prosecco due to some dirt speck in the glass. At $65 a bottle Id want to drink every drop! The perch, steaks, lobster and all sides were prepared quite perfectly. The delicious rice pudding dessert had plump Sultana raisins; we did provide feedback that the caramel syrup drizzle made it much too sweet and was unnecessary. Also the resto could use more lighting. We wanted to better see our food. We will be back, hopefully in better weather so we can enjoy the patio and gorgeous views.
Just a nice place to eat, just like home
Excellent service food was amazing nice ambiance wil definitely be back.
The service was excellent. The view of Lake Erie was gorgeous. The food was delicious.
I like this place we visited twice this summer beutiful view good food and excellent service.
Good service and good food
Beautiful place... very good food ... excellent service... and amazing view.
Nonnis restaurant, part of Davids I suppose. Unfortunately, not the best experience. Difficulties with shade umbrella led to me holding for myself and wife to hold it in position through our lunch. Califlower bites were undercooked. Ended up giving us the bill from another table. Nice view, but did not make up for the poor food quality and other issues. Sorry, will not be repeating. Perhaps Davids itself is better. We will try Davids one day in the future.
Beautiful ambience. Great service. Fantastic food and wine
Food was incredible, view spectacular, staff friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place
We had family visiting from California. Someone suggested Davids restaurant in Port Dover. They were staying at the Erie beach hotel. Davids is absolutely wonderful. The restaurant the staff and the food. Right on the lake.
Expensive for the experience..much more of a golf clubhouse vibe than a fine upscale restaurant. Needs a facelift. Wait staff lacking in the serving protocol these prices require. Kitchen was slow. Great view.
It was great!! Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food and great service, thanks Jen!! My husband had the Ribeye Steak and I had the Prosciutto wrapped Chicken, both perfectly cooked. We also had the beef barley soup, it was amazing. It is one of our favorite soups and it tasted excellent. Pricing is in line with fine dining and would definitely go back.
The fish was delish! Dessert was key lime pie was to die for! Very nice atmosphere, sharing wonderful evening with family!
We were lucky enough to dine privately and really felt like of every need was anticipated and expectation exceeded. The gnocchi was perfect, both types of oysters were delicious, my rack of lamb was the best I d ever had. My Paloma was REALLY good, and I don t think I ll ever stop dreaming about the key lime pie.

Fabulous
Great food and service
Well my first impression was great. Until When we asked for tea with my friend. We got a pot of tea with one tea bag. We both charge 2.75 each. I asked I was told that the pot of tea was for 2 people. I probably okay if there was 2 tea bags because it was not strong for our cup of tea. Well I understand with covid but all of us was also got hit in other mean. So pls dont be skimpy of your menu.
Twice steak was not cooked as asked but told by the chef I was wrong! Nice place. Nice view of the lake. Simply looking for a steak cooked as requested.
First visit to Port Dover and Davids was a pleasant surprise. It is a short drive from the heart of town and has a pretty setting overlooking the lake. It has a modern interior with tasteful decor. Acoustics make table conversations easy (there was a large group in the restaurant at the same time as us and it wasnt at all noisy). The staff were very welcoming. Service they provided was attentive and at a relaxed pace - optimal spacing between drinks, appetizers, entrees & dessert/coffee. The menu isnt extensive but everyone in our group (6) enjoyed their meal. Food quality was very high and all plates were well presented. Well definitely go there again and hope to do so in the near future.
Date night Tuesdays are a great value. Excellent meals. Tentative and friendly dly staff who went above and beyond to help us celebrate 75th birthday.
Wow, what has happened to this fine restaurant... the food is of good quality but the service is less than professional. Tonight s experience left us all frustrated from the poor serving staff. It will be some time before we consider eating here again.
We went here on our mini-moon and the service was excellent. The steak was perfection as was the fish. The frites were very well seasoned, but the mashed potatoes could have used some more seasoning. Would absolutely go again.
Im david so I had to give this a five star
Love this restaurant! Drove all the way from Chatham in our sportscar for lunch here. The best vegan entrees! Well be back!
Tuesday night couples dining. Excellent food. Loved it. Highly recommend.
Ridiculously overpriced, and underwhelming. Do not recommend
Such a beautiful view, friendly service and delicious food
