Its a treat going to the Dairy Bar! Took my mom there last week end. Great food and service!!!

Wonderful breakfast

Super fast and friendly service. Food was good. Prices were good, however, food portion a little small.

The gals try their hardest to keep everyone happy. The breakfast is the best and cheapest around

Stopped for breakfast and was not disappointed, Food was so good and the service was amazing. My Coffee and breakfast came out very fast along with the bill so if your pressed for time dont worry I was in and out in no time.

Been coming to Dover Dairy Bar for years and always had good service and food. Unfortunately not sure if they were dealing with staff issues, but service was really slow and a bit disorganized. They might want to rethink the seat yourself during busy tourist season

We didnt even get to the food the service was rude. Asked for a coffee 3 times and was completely ignored

Been here frequently over the years. I finally got around to trying the perch platter that everybody raves about and it was good, but I almost always arrive here at breakfast time so Im more of an omelette fan. Parking: Lots of room almost all the time. Never had a problem.

As a tourist looking for a breakfast , I went to Dover Dairy. Busy, waitresses arguing , most tables full ,few that werent where dirty. We waited patiently and I was ignored. So we decided to go elsewhere. Only to be yelled ( rudely) by a waitress that it was seat yourself restaurant. If all tables are dirty are you supposed to sit at them? We waited inside for some direction. Ignored , then yelled at. Im not sure if food was good. Unfortunately ! Hopefully that Port Dovers tourism at its finest !!

Staff are fast and friendly, food is always good and prices are very reasonable. Never a bad decision to stop in for breakfast or lunch

My new favorite place for perch.. our first time actually eating here even though we come down every Good Friday. Great service, great food. Best perch dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant Food

Terrible place. Brunette waitress is extremely rude - broke the law asking me to prove my disability to verify my service dog and proceeded to repremend me from across the restaurant when I told her it was illegal to do so. They also delivered my breakfast and did not deliver my two friends - 30 minutes. I asked for extra hollandaise sauce and they gave me a spoon full. Once they gave my friends breakfast, the eggs were literally liquid and the food compromised. Absolute worst place Ive ever been to. Brunette waitress is so rude and tried to blame my service dog for her losing orders and failing at her job - guessing bosses daughter the way she is entitled and rude as hell.

This place is a gem! The staff are FAST and amazing at what they do- they work HARD! Even though this place is always slammed they get through everyone as if your top priority no matter what! The food is so fresh and tasty too. This is our GO TO place for breakfast and will forever be. You always feel welcome here and there is always a seat for everyone!

Small town family style cooking

Ordered the Hamburger with fries - overall fries were good, but the burger not so much tasted like burnt charred as it was way overcooked burnt couldnt eat past the second bite they did remake it but then the second burger tasted under done and wet even though it was cooked. Also ordered the chicken finger dinner, which was okay, but I have seen better. 30$ for what we got was definitely not worth it - about 15 minutes later, I got the worse stomach cramps, which sent me straight to the bathroom. We wont he eating there again. Definitely gone downhill from many years ago.

The food was good and pricing was very modest however the service left something to be desired. Our server was adequate but several customers were turned away for not having vaccine passports (which take less than 5mins to download) while there were 2 tables total and two other servers present. She was unapologetic and very short with these poor people. While I understand it is policy to check these, she had plenty of time to assist them with downloading or at the bare minimum be kind about it. This kind of behaviour would be more excusable had the restaurant been busy. This negatively impacts the overall success of the business as well as all customer experience. On top of this, all of the servers were audibly gossiping - we could hear them from across the room - and after getting our food none of the staff cared to contact us. As a server myself I find this kind of service unacceptable and unprofessional. I would likely to come back but wanted to make it known that this is what to expect. Good company made this experience much more pleasant :)

Same ol Dover Dairy Bar that youve always known. Never changes, unlike everything else around (prices either!!), and thats a good thing! No fancy furniture (or fancy anything!) Kind of a neat time capsule type place. Cool old pics of town and the surrounding area to look at. Quick service even when busy, good food, and very reasonably priced (definitely best breakfast bang for your buck in the area!!) . A Port Dover staple.

Pretty sad that this family restaurant is okay to shame a 16 year old girl on what she wears, and when you speak up the waitresses attack you verbally. Horrible service and overall a terrible place to give business being so judgemental. We ll never be coming here again.

Received a heartfelt apology and the swift dealing of a misunderstanding by the staff. The food was great and the service was quick. The staff will receive further training and the policies will receive a review. Our concerns were addressed by the owner as quickly as they were brought to her attention.

I would give this place a zero if we were ever served while waiting for a table....a dirty table that I had to explain to one of the workers that should be cleaned before we were seated and she said it wasnt her problem

I get that it s an old school place or whatever. But when you have tourists.. especially in the summer it d be really helpful if you implemented some kind of seating structure

We gave this restaurant a second chance. Each time, we had to wait for what felt like forever before a waitress even noticed us. Prices are fair, but I find the food too greasy.

The food here is solid. The servers are great. The washrooms need attention. Everything is functional but they need a plumber to come in and get the toilets to stop wobbling and seal around the bottom.

Never again. It took 45 mins for our food. I asked for gluten free toast and gluten free home fries as I have a gluten intollerance. The food finally came, the home fries were not gluten free. I told the server, she did offer to switch them, I told her not to bother, that I cant have anything on that plate due to cross contamination. 2 minutes later she brought me a whole new plate. Coffee, we asked for a refill, that took 25 mins to get, while we watched another server go to specific tables refilling theirs. We did ask our server, she never brought any, nor did she visit our table after taking our order.

Step back into the early days of Port Dover and youll love the nostalgia here with great food and great prices. Our breakfasts were generous and delicious. The price was only $7.50! Its no surprise there was a line-up Dietary restrictions: I was happy gluten free bread was available and it was delicious

We had to wait far too long to pay the bill. After several (5?) minutes standing at the counter (thats where you pay at the Dairy Bar) I sat down and asked the server to take my money. She refused and directed me to get back in the line and wait to pay there. If they wrote the prices/amount down, or totaled the bill, we couldve left the money with the bill...like every other restaurant. We were late for our next appointment because we had to wait so long to pay.

Enjoy this restaurant very much. Always a treat to come here for breakfast.

Took a few minutes to get service but its called patience. Get them to acknowledge you and wait like other people do. Service was fantastic, food was good and brekky after 11am...yessss. Show simple kindness and personality and maybe your experience will go as well as ours did. Will be back for sure.

food is always good for a hometown diner. however, in the 15 years Ive been going there they have never changed their filthy carpets. they are one of the richest families in the area and they can definitely afford new carpeting.

Amazing place! Everything is so delicious and very reasonably priced, we go almost every Sunday, the service is not the quickest, but if youre not fussy about that, this place will become your go-to for breakfast. The Main Street breakfast (Benedict eggs) are the best, so tasty and generous on the hollandaise

If you love small diners as much as I do, this is the place to eat in Dover! Theyre famous for their perch dinners, but Im a big fan of all day breakfast, and the Dairy Bar does it perfectly! The staff are extremely friendly and the food is not only affordable, but delicious.

Completely disappointed with the food quality. Good bye Dairy bar. I really liked that place alot. Business owner please consider a substitute for ham and pork meat todays society is multi cultural and not everyone wants a traditional breakfast. You could add truky sausage or turky bacon to your menu. This was the place at one point but not anymore.

The place that inflation forgot. $8.50 for eggs Benedict (main st breakfast). The peameal nice and crispy, eggs soft poached and hollandaise very flavourful. I got the deep fried home fries but the grilled was the way to go. The servers are stone faced and efficient until theres a joke. Old school diner from the 70s 80s.

Came with a group of 12 of us and they shuffled tables to seat us all together, and had us all happy with our food

I pre ordered a perch dinner for 12:00 they told me not a problem. I showed up at 12:00 and had to waite 10 minutes. It was $18.00 so i give them $20.00 and said keep the tip. I took the fish home which was 15 to 20 minutes away and it was ice cold like they took it out off the fridge and was like it was par deep fried. I ate 1.5 peaces and threw the rest out! It ttasted like a doe ball.

This place is for you if you love seeing food come out to tables seated after you, want coffee, they got it but it ll be a 15 minute wait and they might forget to bring you creamers. Love a waitress who forgets to put in your order, Dover dairy bar is your home! Oh, I almost forgot, you need great memory to eat here because if you add a side of something to your plate, you might not notice it not there.. overall experience was great, our table laughed and enjoyed the 5 waitresses serving 5 tables and couldn t remember a cup of water!! If you are a very patient person, Dairy bar is for you!! Can t compare this to anywhere else as they have no competition, and that s all fine and dandy! Staff don t seem to care about how your food is or if you are missing anything, they paid by the hour :) I would recommend ordering eggs and home fries if you are hungry for eggs and bacon, or vise versa. Come down to dairy bar if you like surprises, by the time you get your food you will be surprised! Last thing to add, they should endorse this slogan come sit down for breakfast, and enjoy your lunch as it fits perfect, and if you don t understand, I ll explain, you sit down at 11 and get your food at 12, it s truly awesome!! I will 10/10 be back to enjoy some laughs and bad service!

My husband and son had breakfast there today. They were finished their coffee BEFORE their breakfast arrived. The waitress NEVER came back to offer them a second cup.

We go here at least once a year with our grandparents. The service is always super slow, but the food is always good. The fish is by far the best part. Although this last time they were completely out of most of the fish and we had to re order. But most likely will go back again next year .

Food was good and price fantastic however wait staff was not the friendliest and basic bacon and eggs took 40 minutes. To be fair, it was Canada Day and very busy before the parade. Will definately try it again on a normal day.

An old standby where I love their prep of the Lake Erie perch. Its very lightly breaded and cooked well.

Love this place. I go here everytime Im in Dover visiting family. Staff is always friendly, prices are reasonable, and food is good, but it is nothing fancy. I would say its more of a locals diner than a tourist attraction. 5 stars because Im never disappointed!

Best priced breakfast restaurant Ive ever been to! Simple breakfast items, very good, like homemade for such a great price (ex. 2 egg/fried egg sandwich is $2.55) !! Amazing! Busy place, clean, friendly staff! It is a must for breakfast in Port Dover.
