If I could give less stars for service I would! We had a $219 bill and the waitress was unhappy with her tip and commented “that’s it”. Ungrateful waitress! With today’s economy you should be happy with any tip! If you are unhappy and ungrateful in your job get out! When asked to talk to the manager they told us she is too busy to talk with us! Disgraceful!!!!! Not to mention she forgot some of our order and 2 people were done eating by the time the rest of us received the items missing from our order!!!! She got paid what she was worth!!!
1st time dining at Fishermans Catch Bar. The Perch was so delicious 😋 and the Fish tacos delicious.
Decided to try this place because of the high reviews online. Went on a weekend, place wasn't too busy, but servers didn't seem to be very responsive, was waiting around a bit to be greeted and seated. Atmosphere was also so so, although decor theme and artwork were alright. We had the perch dinner plate, perch tacos with sweet potato fries, and baby calamari. Only things that were decent were the mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. Baby calamari portions and individual rings were small (yes, I know it said baby calamari on the menu, but still, the width of the pieces were so thin, not just the size of the rings) - reminded me of the type of frozen bag of calamari you get at the supermarket and not the fresh calamari one would expect at a restaurant. Was disappointed with this starter. Onto the mains... The perch batter was slightly soggy (& a bit too oily), not at all crispy and light as the typical fish & chips one expects. This unfortunately made for an overall just so-so fish & chips meal and experience. (Also, one of us had a bit of an upset stomach a couple hours after, possibly from the over-oily batter, not quite sure.)
I came to visit Port Dover on Friday the 13 for the first time in my life. What an amazing and friendly town. For dinner I saw a great looking place right near the water. I was welcomed by the staff that had to have been exhausted after working a whole day of pandemonium, but they were sooooo friendly, happy and welcoming. My favourite person here is Aleesha, I was able to sit outside on the deck and the weather is/was perfect. I ordered the Perch dinner with extra crispy French fries (suggested by Aleesha) and it was delicious! The Perch was moist and firm! The fries were perfect. The coleslaw was a mere tablespoon and the tartar sauce was some store bought package. But I am happy and full so I’m not complaining. Just suggesting that you serve a bigger dollop of your very good coleslaw.
This place was amazing!!!! Food was so so good! The fish was so nice and light I had the Tacos and they were so so good! I go back! And very reasonable! 👌 service was amazing too!
Nice sunny Victoria day at this lovely Port Dover, I met this one of the kind fishmen restaurant. They use the perch for their fish & chip fillets. It is mixed with a little pickle inside and made it mouth watering. The mixed combo also comes with a pickerel fillet. I am not a fan of mackerel taste of fish, but the batter is well done. Super friendly and attentive service. Would come again if visiting the town in the future.
Took a drive to Port Dover... while there grabbed lunch at Fisherman's Catch Restaurant. As it was a nice day, we sat on the patio. It's a good size with tables seating from 2 to 6 people. As parking is a premium in town, it's nice to know this restaurant has its own parking lot. To enter, take the street past the restaurant. Turn left and turn at the one-way sign. The food was good. And our waitress was nice and efficient. I had the perch dinner with fries and onion rings. It was a bit pricey for what you get... but you are paying for the location. It is only one block from the beach. Would I go back....you bet ya ! I added pics of the surrounding area in addition to the restaurant.
Great outdoor patio, lots of space, the fish taco was amazing. We also tired the chicken dinner and perch dinner and they both were amazing. It was lively and full of patrons. A good place to enjoy meal with your friends and family. Definitely try the perch items on the menu.
We love Fisherman s catch, it s about an hour away for my wife and I, but we go there for dinner or lunch probably 1/2 dozen times a year. Great fish dinners.

We love going to this restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious. No matter which one you choose! The staff are amazing, they are so kind and fun to talk to.
Had lunch there today and we were disappointed. My bf had the perch and it was greasy but ok. I had one bite of the burger and couldn t eat it. Something was wrong with it as it tasted off. We were still charged for the burger even after explaining to them that something was wrong with it. We won t be eating there again

So rude! We have a support dog and the waitress didn t care to accommodate or ask about documentation. Pretty uncomfortable as we were looking to get a seat on the patio.

The waitress was very apologetic, but she was not able to seat us even outside because we had two small dogs. Overall, we found this town to be very UNdog-friendly.

First time and definitely not the last time! Delicious!!! We had the 4 piece fried perch and fries. We both got an extra fish, not greasy at all. Fries were great. Came with a roll with butter and nice tub of tartar sauce and lemon slices. I brought half of mine home. We sat on the elevated deck and watched the amazing hot cars go by. The staff were super nice and the inside restaurant was clean and cool. 101%!!!
As someone who has lived in a province that is practically an island for a year now, and living 1km from the water, I can tell you that Ontario fish is always better. This is no exception, as someone who loves escargot, I was happy to see it on the menu. The Perch meal was good, and filling, and the tartar sauce was amazing. The waitresses were great as well. I will miss this place when I return back to Nova Scotia, but this was great.
I absolutely love this restaurant.. Been going to it since I was about 4...so over 50 years....when it was called Mikes and it had a mini putt in their parking area. Best employees, great testing menu options.. love their perch dinner. Food : 5/5

Had the calamari - it was good but a touch chewy, Caesar salad was good, garlicky, pickerel was overcooked but OK. French fries were crispy -probably due to the fresh oil they were fried in. But they were from frozen. Service was great. Not sure if we would return.

My folks and I enjoyed the portions of our meal: perch dinners and scallop dinner. Staff were considerate in taking and bringing our orders. We also enjoyed the dessert (chocolate peanut butter pie) We had our meal Christmas Eve. It wasnt too busy. Food

It was our first time there. Portions were very good. We had the perch and shrimp with fries and a side of salad. Unless you are very hungry, share this. Great atmosphere, we will be going back.

Family gathering on Saturday, the staff were very friendly and the service was quick, I had pasta fettuccine and I did enjoy it, I tried the perch too and that was good, not greasy. Would go there again. Kid-friendliness: Coloring books and crayons were given to the kids, kept them occupied,that was nice.

The Catch has always been the best place to go for Atmosphere the Staff and best Perch. but lately it s been over the top I just had the Moroccan Lamb and with no exaggeration it was the best meal I ve ever had. Add to that the special the week before was equally as good. Lamb, Spaghetti, Salmon, home made pasta the list goes on

It was a truly wonderful experience. The server was friendly didnt rush us with our ordering and brought ice cold beverages. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. Best onion rings Ive ever had! We enjoyed the photos and decor. Only thing that I would improve on is the washrooms. One needs to be equipped with a grab bar for those that have trouble getting up and down safely.

Took my family 6 of us. The food was good, the waitress was fabulous. The wait for our meal was an hour and have. People arrived after us ate and left. I counted at least 8 tables, and they all ate. There is no excuse for this. If it wasnt for the waitress we would have left.

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite restaurants in Port Dover! Ive eaten here twice, and was satisfied and pleased with the meals both times. The first time I had the fish tacos, which were amazing! Last night I tried the shrimp basket, and now I dont know which dish I prefer! What I liked most about the shrimp was the fact that they were lightly battered, not overly greasy like other places. The portions were perfect for me, as I walked away comfortably satisfied.

the waitress was VERY POOR took our order the restaurant was not very busy quite a few empty tables took a long time for our food to get to the table Did not see her until we where almost finished eating she looked at my wifes coffee cup mumbled something about you have lots and left I had to ask another waitress if she could get our bill as I did not know where our waitress was She finally showed up with the bill The fish was overcooked and tasted like the oil needed to be changed last week Needless to say we will not be going back and hope other people have a better experience than we did Parking: not enough Kid-friendliness: our waitress needed to get with it and do her job better

Spot on food service and atmosphere. Our waitress Trish, was a super personable, a total professional , and had a great sense of humour to boot. We took a friend of ours there for lunch and we all had a great experience... loved it!
Enjoyed the fish here very much and the service was fine but I am not one that likes or celebrates Halloween so all the disturbing decor was a turn off for me. Guess i will just not visit in Octobers.

Great food, good portions, reasonable price! I had the dill soup it was phenomenal! Also had the Chorizo Omlette I was stuffed so full but still wanted to try more on the menu the fish sounded amazing so Ill be back for sure thanks service was amazing 10 out of 10 youre my spot now. Cheers! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables on my plate. Im sure they do full-on veg too. Dietary restrictions: I didnt ask but they seem conscientious so I presume theyll do the same thing as other restaurants and will cater to the growing clientele of people with made up dietary restrictions (plus the few who really need that service) Parking: no problem to find a spot right outside. Dont quote me on that always being available it might be different in the summer but for sure theres parking all over and lots everywhere Kid-friendliness: I saw some hipsters with their baby so means it must be kid friendly! I had the ribs and wings combo and it was delicious, the meat came right off the bones.
It was busy, we were seated right away. Our food was brought by someone other than the waitress to the wrong table first then when we got our food it was not good. I had the perch dinner which was like eating soggy grease soaked fish sticks. And my wife had wings and ribs. The wings and the ribs were very over cooked and very dry. I was here once before and the food was much better. Hit or miss I guess. It was bad enough I wont be back.

Must say my wife and I were disappointed last outing here. With your dinner the salad bar is no longer avaiable and bun with dinner is half the size it used to be, unfortunate they have increased prices and serve less.

Was directed here for dinner, because the first place didn t have dine in. We were looking for fish and chips, English style. They did not have it, which was a disappointment. We ended up having bacon and cheeseburgers, which were fine under the circumstances.
