The Beach House in Port Dover

Please don t change anything about the clam chowder! I ll be coming back for years! By far best clam chowder I ve ever had 11/10 everytime I go, I have to treat myself with almost 4 takeouts of it! I will be back.

We go for the beautiful beach views. The service has been hit or miss in recent visits, and the meals have also been hit or miss with mediocre ready-made type of tasting meals. The Beach House Nachos were not great this weekend featuring cube like processed chicken and very little cheese.

The food was Amazing! The Perch was soooo good. The service was awesome! I highly recommend

We visit this place for refreshments with the beautiful view of lake.They have good appetisers and good main dishes, and Tortillini pasta had been tried by us and it was fabulous.

Just had lunch at the beach house. Food was good, service was top notch. The waitress went out of her way to make our toddler and the baby comfortable. This place is right by the light house and the beach so it goes without saying that the view is amazing..

Popular busy place over dinner hour. Great mango pecan salad and jerk pickerel fish plate. Great service and atmosphere with no overpowering background music.

The food was fantastic, I have no complaints! Our server was awesome as well, Id shout him out if I could remember his name! Only negative is the menu was a little lackluster, as well as the atmosphere.

Snobby staff. Females working there act as though theyre millionaire supermodels and are unfriendly to males, who are there strictly to eat with their wife (my case) and kids, not to hit on poor, lesser looking women. Get over yourselves!

We always go for fish and chips when visit Port Dover. Yesterday we went as party of 6 people end everybody had great food. Perch dinner with Panko was super and new mango salad was delicious .

Greatly disappointed in the food ordered. Got their signature 4-Piece Knechtels Fish and Chips and received 4 tiny pieces and the 4th was like getting the end piece of a loaf of sliced bread. A third of the size of the other 3 pieces.. The coleslaw portion was half-filled in the container and hidden by a slice of lemon. Basically $21 for a plate of fries. All my other friends received decent portions of what they ordered for cheaper. They also wouldnt allow us on the patio assuming because they didnt want the server to travel all the way from the kitchen to the patio to serve the food.. Poor people (This all reflects in the tip earned) after mentioning a couple times that we would like a patio table by the lake. Most of the enjoyment of going to a lakeside restaurant like this is the experience. Customers are always right. If we pay, you work for us for the time of service. Will not be going back. Side note: Its absolutely pathetic how early every restaurant or bar in Port Dover closes essentially sending people home and crushing the local economy of the town. It feels as if there is a curfew in effect. Very sad.

It was a beautiful summer day and our party wanted to sit outside to enjoy the weather. We went to the beach house. We were seated promptly. The food was good and the portions were generous we had both perch and pickerel. I can personally recommend the perch and the Greek salad both of which were excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic sitting on the deck looking out over Lake Erie with a cool breeze and a warm sun. I highly recommend the beach house to anybody visiting Port Dover.

Just had another delicious meal at this restaurant. Friendly staff. Quick service. If you like tea, must try the Blueberry Tea. Doesnt actually taste like blueberries but is very good! Very accessible with a ramp out front. Parking: Handicap spots Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

The outdoor patio has great views of the beach, palm trees, the lighthouse and Lake Erie. We enjoyed the perch, onion rings and nachos

Nice spot overlooking the water. Burger was great as well as the chowder. Prices are very good and the staff were exceptional considering it was Friday the 13th bike rally and how busy it was.

We love coming here for our family dinners. The perch pieces are bigger here which we love! Food is always delicious Also love that they have twisted teas and once in awhile I get the mermaid water drink! My son is a very picky eater but he loves the fries and he also like s that he can use the wifi and watch his shows while we eat. The view is always a winner. Staff are always more then great ! Thank you so much for being our favorite dinner place. We will be by for my sons birthday dinner later today! He wishes you had spiderman ice cream on a cone!!

Didnt get to experience your food or service, so I cant comment on that. However, since you are not dog-friendly, you get 1 star for atmosphere as far as we are concerned.

Great place for a nice meal.

I really wanted to try this place as it had a lot of gluten free options and because I m celiac it s always super nice to be able to eat more than a salad when we treat ourselves with a meal out. It was busy so we waited our turn and after only about 10 min we were seated which was great. We sat down and waited for anyone to come ask us what drinks we wanted. We were in the middle of the restaurant so not tucked in a corner or anything hidden. 2 other groups of people got sat down a few min after us and still no server had come to our table. The first one that was sat after us ordered their drinks thought okay she ll come to us next. Nope. A few min later they got their drinks and she even took their food order! All while we hadn t even been asked for our drinks yet. We waited about 5 more minutes and the next time we see her she goes over to the second table that came after and was getting their drink order. We left.

There will be a second time

This was our first time to Port Dover, but it wont be our last. The Beach House was Awesome! Excellent food, great service and the best location Kid-friendliness: Many great choices for our son to choose. I think he tried them all! Lol

The last time I ate here I was very disappointed. I asked if there was an ingredient in something as I m sensitive to toxic, manufactured chemicals in my food and elsewhere. I never got an answer, just the food. I had a reaction to it. I won t go back. Used to eat here regularly at one time. I m also repulsed by the fact they bring in tropical trees that cannot survive the winter and then cut them down. The beach and its occupants would be so much better served with native, location appropriate trees that provide some much needed shade.

We love it every time, never gets old, sit under a palm tree drink all day, and walk home, extremely affordable and has good solid foods, The staff are all extremely helpful and have product knowledge, all our servers were excellent. Amazing experience on the beach. You have I doors, patio or beach seating available overlooking the beach. I was skeptical about the menu at first but absolutely amazing. We had the cheese bread sticks, hot honey chicken sandwich and chicken parmesan. Service was quick and friendly

Delicious perch, tasty mussels, friendly and attentive Staff. Weve tried perch and pickerel at other local spots, this was the tastiest and freshest. It was a bit cold out on Saturday so we stayed inside. But the patio has a view of palm trees :) will be coming back

Sat on the patio even though it seemed like it was going to rain. Friendly staff, reasonably priced good food, great view of the beach, clean restaurant& restrooms. Love the vintage interior decor vibe. Vegetarian options: Enough variety on the menu. Parking: If you can find a spot on the street theres 2 free hours of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: They have both enter amd exit ramps. Very accommodating. If you cant find parking close hopefully someone can let you out at the base of the ramp.

Waitress and manager are rude and disrespectful! The customer service is awful this place does not have respect and does not treat their costumer service fairly! also one of the waitress was raised her voice at me and did not respect that at all. They should hire a better personal, humble and be able to cope with clients needs! I do not recommend this place! Ppl are awful here!!

This place was amazing! A wee jem in Port Dover. We had a window table, got to eat supper while looking out at the lake, close to the peer/light house. Food was served with a smile, staff was friendly...decor was spot on! Highly recommend if you are ever in town.

Had a great experience overall. Siting at patio, nice food and drinks, with great view of beach. Was a little busy, maybe it was sunday, but the wait wasnt much for the table. Parking is available around the place, mainly on the street. Nice service from the staff and food was served promptly.

I love spending time there with my family and friends.

They have a solid menu for a good variety of foods depending on what youre feeling like, the prices are fair. I had the surf and turf. It was some of the best perch Ive ever had, however the steak was mediocre just a average steak youd expect anywhere else. Great location and great views though!

We have eaten here many times in the summer however this was the first time in the spring. The views are fantastic. It is our favourite restaurant in Port Dover and the rest of our family agrees. The food is always exceptional. The staff takes very good care of us, always making sure we have a pleasant great dining experience.

Great restaurant by Lake Erie

We went there on Wednesday. The weather had turned super nice. We sat outside and had one of the best experiences in a long time. It was quite busy, but Alex was amazing! Friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and quick getting to our table. Thank you, we will definitely return.

Always have been amazing food. Got an order for takeout and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Came a little after 20 mins and waited 10 minutes at the front booth before being helped, then waited another 20 for my food.

We stopped here on a road trip, and needless to say we were very happy with the place. The staff were lovely and the food was very good: I especially recommend the garlic breadsticks and the liver and onion. The view was also breathtaking and had a great view of the lake. The restaurant was also family-friendly, which was nice. Overall, awesome place. Would reccomend.

Lovely place for a bite on the Lake (Erie). Menu is much like I remember from years ago. Server was awesome and service was fine. Only issue was the serving size and that many items were deep fried. I would go back for the nostalgia alone. KS

The view is lovely! They know how to make a Tequila Sunrise, which many dont! They had wide enough options that even one picky eater we have was happy! Their brushetta was delish! Even hubby liked it, which is very high We had perch, which was very good. The Cole slaw was tasty, and many dont make it right anymore, so that was a nice surprise, too. Parking: Parking lot is long and narrow, so long walk if its full on a Friday night Id imagine, but we were there on a Sunday after church, so parking was easy. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp

The panko perch dinnner delicious!

I ve had 2 different meals here on different days and both were good. Service was great and the atmosphere was busy every time. But worth waiting for. I will return more in the future.

Topped up the end of a lovely, cold windy February day in Port Dover with a supper in the unique atmosphere of the Beach House. The unique, delightful view of the water, beach, harbour channel pier, and lighthouse on the dark winter evening was magical. My wife and I enjoyed our simple, but scrumptious pickerel fish and chips meal. Well do this again!

I went for lunch and had the Perch dinner and a piece of Pickerel. The food came fast, it was warm, and the portions were big. I really enjoyed the meal and the service was great. The waitress was really friendly. I would recommend this place!

Amazing mango salad!

The only downfall was an extremely loud toddler. The parents and or grandparents did not make her be quiet. We finally asked a waitress to speak to them. It put a damper on our lunch.

Love the perch here! Lots of fish restaurants in the area but this one is my favourite! Friendly staff, excellent perch, good patio, good views of Lake Erie from almost anywhere in the restaurant. If you go during summer, you may have to wait for a table but otherwise, you should be able to grab a table fairly quickly.

Charming place to have a wonderful time next to the beach and the beauty of the nature! Food is so good, service is so professional! Definitely recommend and will be back again!

Proper beach patio with the ideal views; the only reason for low rating is the server who let us in was particularly rude and cold when we asked him if we could move to one of the tables closer to the water; he just said NO and moved on. They remained empty because there was no one waiting to be seated and there were no reservations he said. That definitely felt very discriminatory. Fortunately for him and this restaurant, the other 2 waiters on the patio were polite enough to let us move to the vacant tables by the water. Left a bitter taste nonetheless :/

A lovely place to grab a meal with loved ones, with great friendly atmosphere and great views of the beach. I got the onion soup (a daily special) which was great, and their battered fish was great. The salmon and steak also were okay but we all liked the battered fish the best.

Loved the food, the patio was lovely and we had great waitress, she was so attentive without being too much so, overall a perfect dining experience.

Always a great weekend spot. This is our usual spot for an every pther weekend foodtrip. Our fave is the clam chowder soup. Their steak is also worth a try their food prices don t hurt as well. Parking: Parking is available outside Kid-friendliness: Kid menu is available at an affordable price. My kid lives his pasta, kid burger with chips and the free ice cream for dessert.

Amazingly prepared fish. Had the Perch Tacos, fried to perfection while still keeping the amazing seafood taste. Mixed drinks are done properly with the right pour and mix. Definitely worth checking out anytime of the year.
