Gallagher's Coffee Bar & Cafe in Port Moody

This used to be my go-to spot for countless years, through all the different ownership changes it seems like this got slightly worse with each new change. Its a great location and a nice change from larger coffee places. However it is definitely one of the most expensive coffee shops Ive been to recently. Smoked salmon bagel and a latte cost $23, which seems quite expensive when you see the two slices of salmon on a bagel. Unfortunately theres other options available nearby for me and I will not be going back to Gallagher any time soon, mainly due to the cost of everything there. My money goes further at other cafes.

They had a bad service when we came

Such an awful experience with poor service and impolite and irrespecutful waitress.

I had a bacon bagle and latte. The bagle was fresh and the latte was soft with beautiful leafy art on it. Kind staff and great service. Definitely recommend this place!

If you re looking for good coffee, do not go there. I just spent 3 dollars on a shitty cup of pee.

Very rude. Gave the cream to the lady to fill. Waited over 5 minutes to get cream back. Got dirty look like I did something wrong. The guy was rude to my wife that gave us our drinks. Will not be going here anymore. So disappointing with this service.

A place where you can drink coffee in a cozy atmosphere in Port Moody~ The two kind owners~ They look the same every time I see them~ The coffee is delicious and the flowers are pretty~ Yesterday, I went to drink coffee for the first time in a while.... It was newly renovated with a spring atmosphere. For those who live nearby, I recommend you go~

Very delicious food and drinks- the environment is super cozy and they have wonderful staff. The food is a little pricey, but you are 100% paying for the quality and freshness.

This is the best Cappuccino in the lower mainland only matched by the UBC Bean around the World.

Great little coffee shop. I wish it stayed open a little longer in the evenings. It is nice to sit on the patio in spring with the flowers on the railing.

I ordered a turkey panini, which was a little over $13 and I was really disappointed with it. For $13 I would ve thought it would have real turkey meat but it had sliced deli meat instead. The cheese inside was really strong and overpowering and they don t tell you that there s cranberry sauce inside and the bread they use also has cranberries. I think they should have a description under each food menu item to specify what s inside cause if I had known then I would not have ordered that sandwich. It should be worth less than $10. The atmosphere and people are nice but the food is not very good.

The owner is also very kind. I ordered in English, but they knew I was Korean and kindly accepted my order in Korean. Thanks to you, I was able to order comfortably. Got the order wrong. Food is a complete ripoff (paninis in my case @ $13-14). Coffee is decent though. My advice: go for the coffee only and hope that they get it right.

Very cozy spot that I have been to over the years. The staff are personable and friendly. Im usually here for lunch/coffee with my aunt in the village and I love the ambience. Its relaxing, helps me be present and focused with my work. I frequently get the smoked salmon bagel or any of their paninis/sandwiches. Cant really go wrong here if youre looking to get some work done and enjoy a warm beverage and some good food.

It is a wonderful place with friendly staff. When I was disappointed for finding a Cafe where I could take my best friend birthday cake and no one answered me yes for bringing it and come here with your friends, someone from this Cafe answered my call and said yes why not in a friendly manner and kindly. They are very kind and nice . We enjoyed and highly recommend there for everyone who wants to eat and drink in a good place and be served friendly.

RIPOFF Tried 2 of their $12 paninis for lunch (ham and cheddar) and (smoked turkey) the LOWEST portion of sandwich meat I have ever seen in a sandwich OVER $10. UNREAL. Should have take a photo. Never ever going back here. NOT RECOMMENDED. Food

There are a lot of foreigners and the menu is all Western, but the owner is a Korean man and wife. I tried Cali BLTC

I have seen other photos of the food and have to say the portions have decreased significantly. Below is a photo of the egg and sausage wrap which was $12.00. Honestly a rip off despite its reasonable flavour.

I accidentally ordered a wrap that had avocados without knowing and the owner was so kind to make another one without! Everyone that works here provides top-notch service, and they have an amazing caramel macchiato that has a distinct taste I ve never noticed in any other macchiatos I ve tried. I can t put my finger on it but it turns out it s exactly what I ve been searching for from a caramel macchiato and now I can t get it anywhere else

Best coffee in the area!

My friend and I went to this Cafe. As soon as I asked a question about their desserts five staff members came from the back and told us to go to a different place. We left and had a lovely reception in another Cafe.

Nice cafe in cute Newport Village. But dayum, almost $20 for an egg bagel and a small latte. They do have beer. Next time Ill try that with a wrap. Hopefully itll be better value than this time.

Great coffees , great location, the area has a wonderful vibe to it.

Latte was mediocre and VERY hot- couldn t hold it even with a sleeve and burned my mouth even after it was sitting for 5 minutes. Didn t try the food, but the location is good. However don t bring your dog even if you want to go on the large outdoor patio. A very clear no pets allowed on premises sign is outside, which is unfortunate for what seems to be an otherwise very dog friendly neighborhood. There s a very highly rated dog store nearby and other stores (even gift shops) allow dogs and even put water outside! As a dog owner, I wouldn t come back since I wasn t blown away by the coffee.

Its frustrating to tell a cashier about an allergy when ordering and for the message not to have been shared, or a team mate not to have been careful about contaminating ingredients. One of our table was sick for a full day as a result. It breaks trust that we can ever go there again.

Perfection for a gloomy, rainy day. The latte we had here was divine. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The staff are very friendly as well. Would come back over and over.

I heard that the Korean owner wants to focus on Canadian customers, but when you go here, its really better to order in English rather than Korean. I ordered a cold brew and an iced latte and then got a hot latte. I heard the word ice, but I referred to cold brew as ice, not latte ice. Cold brew is originally made with ice, right? I clearly asked for an iced latte, but the lady boss pressed me several times to ask if I had checked that the ice cream was stamped on the receipt when paying. No, I didnt see the ice in the cold brew on the cashier machine, so I thought there must have been no distinction - its also useful that I checked that. The groom next to me also heard it. Its my first time seeing a place like this. I used to go there often with friends, but I cant go anymore because I feel so uncomfortable.

I am really enjoying the regular lunches I am having at Gallagher s. They have a variety of tasty gluten and dairy free options for me which is exaclty what I need.

The staff was kind and the service was good however I felt the food was way over priced for what you get. Granted it was a good panini, for $10 you should get a little more than 2 slices of meat..

I love Gallaghers. The food and service is wonderful. I have a small complaint though: This morning when I went there, the wifi wasnt working and apparently, its usually like that. I came to work there, payed 6.50 for my drink and missed my meeting because the wifi didnt work. If you dont offer wifi services, that should be stated at the door before the customer makes a purchase. Now I have to go to another coffeeshop, pay for a second drink just because the wifi didnt work..

This was a great place to find on Newport Street in Port Moody. It serves many different types of coffee as well as lots of good options for a quick snack or for lunch. It seemed popular with the locals which is a good sign for other people who are visiting the area.

I thought it was good but not great. The staff was friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The coffee tasted great and the patio was nice to sit on. The food on the other hand was a bit over priced. The sandwiches didn t have much on them and took a long time to toast and prepare

A whiskey lounge is what this place is fit for...but good overall, standard coffee shop, good selection of teas.

I didnt realize what I was missing when I continued to get Soy Milk Lattes at Starbucks Pfffftt. Hands down, the BEST oat milk latte Ive ever realized I needed and missed out on. So delicious. Ive tried a couple other places but this place is still the the best!

After getting my coffee from Gallagher everyday this month I can now say their decaf espresso has a wonderful taste and is my favorite! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Café is always clean and cozy with great atmosphere, design. Menu is complete and full of alternative options. I just wish they could use unsweetened almond milk as an alternative! So the people who can t have any sugar in their coffee would benefit from it! Thank uou Gallagher s!

Decided to try this spot out when catching up with a friend because wed heard the red espresso drinks were good! She got the red latte and I the red symphony. Both were really delicious and perfectly made! The service was quick and courteous, and we enjoyed that they provided self serve syrups. I loved the concept and taste of the red espresso (rooibos tea ground and extracted like espresso). Well definitely be back next time we want to catch up over a hot beverage!

Servers are polite and friendly. Large coffee is a little more expensive compared to Timmys or Starbucks.

Nice and cosy place to sit and have a quick bite. Nice place to come with group of friends or alone. They serve an awesome hot chocolate with cream. Do try it when you are there.

Very dissapointed, i was there a few weeks ago with my mom and my 5 years old, it was a Saturday morning and it was busy and loud, i was asked to leave the place because somebody complain about my son making noise ( he was just playing with a car so he was imitating the sound but nothing to loud) so apparently somebody in the place complaint about the noise, the place was full of people and loud conversation and music im dissapointed that the staff asked me to leave i was there so many times with my son so my understanding is that this is a local family place, never go back again.

Dropped in for an espresso and it was good. The two younger girls were very pleasant and great with customers. Seems like many good options.

Love this coffee shop, in the heart of Port Moody, in Newport Village. The only big problem I find is how expensive is the single shot of espresso. I cant believe it is $3.60 for 1 shot of espresso. Other than that the location and the atmosphere is great.

I come here often. Great coffee and tasty food. Ive marked down a star as the inside could do with a little re-fresh, but it doesnt put me off coming back.

Very clean with a calm atmosphere. And its located in the most calm feeling area of town. The drinks are definitely worth your time and food is good as well. It is the perfect place to sit down and talk to friends
