Taps and Tacos in Port Moody

For my wife s 50th birthday we ordered from Taos for 18 people. The food was amazing and all our guest commented repeatedly on how great it was. We also got the churros and the margarita mixes and they were great! Highly recommend for a party, just as good as when we ve visited in person. Thanks Taps!

Went there with 5 other folks for happy hour. Restaurant basically empty. Took a long time for waitress to take drink orders. I should have ordered 3 of the 5 ounce happy hour wine for $15 rather than saying yes to two 8 oz glasses. Ended up paying $24 for 2 glasses of house wine. Lesson learned. One senior fellow only wanted 2 tacos. Menu said happy hour taco is $3.00 each so he ordered 2. He expected to pay $6.00 for the 2 tacos but was charged $8.00. It s only $3.00 per taco if you order 3? Not clear on the menu. He also was charged more for his beer than expected. Very sterile non cozy atmosphere and parking is very difficult

Ive never ate such delicious tacos in the Tri-city/Burnaby area, this is definitely the #1 spot imo Tried all 4 Tacos (they were all delicious) but ranking would look like this: #1 Ahi Tuna #2 Korean BBQ Pork (authentic korean flavor) #3 or 4 Pork & Chicken (Cant decide) Also the Vegan Peanut Butter pudding was amazing (better than any dairy-free Ben & Jerrys/SO Delicious/Haagen-Dazs), I bought one to go (costs a dollar more but you can keep the jar) *Staff were very friendly and attentive/really like the interior look of the restaurant See you again Dietary restrictions: Have Dairy-free options!

Great mid place for tacos. Nothing flavour wise stands out amongst the competition. Would be nice to see them reach above the bar for a better product. Season or cook their meat better, make fresh flour taco wraps. Pickled onion is great but shouldnt be the star of the show.

I had tacos and ceviche during happy hour. The ceviche had a sour taste with shrimp, avocado, and tomatoes, and the tacos were great because you could eat a variety of flavors at a low price. I had raw tuna, cauliflower, chorizo, pork belly, and mushroom tacos, and the mushrooms and tuna were memorable~

Not accommodating at all couldn t make a cheese quesadilla for my daughter even though they had the stuff to do it! She doesn t eat meat and is a child so won t eat the mushroom option. Left And went somewhere else. Place was empty for a reason. Server was rude

Best tacos I ever got in lower mainland! Went with couple friends and the server was really nice. She recommended us to have mushroom tacos which were not the menu and we also ordered cauliflower tacos. We are vegetarians so I was bummed they only had one option for taco that was cauliflower but now we got 2 flavours. Our drinks were amazing but the tacos were just chef s kiss. We ordered 3 times in one seating so that says it all. The green sauce has a great flavour but be careful with the red one, lol. Overall, In love with this Mexican place and definitely coming back.

I ordered take out from here tonight. I got a burrito, hubby got 5 tacos, and I got an order of chips and guacamole. I opened the chips in the car, opened the guacamole and 2 scoops in found a giant hair throughout. I ran back in and got a new one. Came out to the car started eating the new ones and bit down on a hard piece of the hard stem piece from an avadaco in the guacamole, I actually thought I broke my tooth. I went back in for a refund, their response was, sorry that happens sometimes, Im sorry it happened twice in a row to you!! Umm yea sure hair ends up in food sometimes but for me to find something in my food twice in a row, their standards must be quite low. There should never be something that hard found in someones food, Im so thankful that it was me that bit into it and not my kids who were munching it seconds before. Needless to say I will not be going back, that was just a super disappointing experience. I didnt even want to eat my burrito after that.

Honestly loved this spot for awhile as I m a Port Moody native but my girlfriend ordered hers with some allergy preferences and it came with all the things we didn t ask for. When we called to make the issue known we were basically told tough luck from the manager because they were 30 mins from closing. Absolutely terrible management, if I was the owner I d address that immediately. That was our spot for quite some time

I ll be honest.. My expectations were not very high. I assumed it would be just another Port Moody not-so-special where you spend way too much money and get barely any food. Well, did they ever prove me wrong! The tacos came out hot and fast, with flavour combinations that words cannot even describe. The portions are not disappointing at all. I ate 5 tacos and was stuffed. I will be back soon to try all the other flavours.

It was a lovely day for me and my friends! We had tacos(chicken, cauliflower, beef), guacamole chips salsa, spicy mango margaritas and the dulce de leche chessecake for the dessert. We loved wvery bite of the food and the services offered by Oksana was upto the mark. We are definitely coming back again for the dessert !

Ordered online on DoorDash. $18.00 with a small container of ceviche filled with shrimp ends that were not cleaned properly and Serrano or jalapeño with the seeds. Not happy with their ceviche. Got their enchilada and tacos as well. Taco tortillas need to be cooked and the enchilada are okay. Options for the tacos were not bad, most have pretty good flavor. Seems too pricey for quality issues that came up. Parking: Free parking lot near by and street parking but not enough on a busy day.

Happy hour tacos will never be less than five stars to me.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday on a whim. Got the pork belly torta and some tacos with my hubby. Delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Each taco had unique flavors that didnt eclipse the other. Some bites were punchy, others were earthy, and each had different garnishes. The tortilla wasnt thick, held up to moisture and had a great chew to it. Most corn torts get mushy and fall apart but these were good enough to have eaten with one shell but two distributed the flavors better. The torta was delicious, could have maybe had a touch more pork/filling but it was flavorful and would eat again. Reasonable pricing, everything tasted very fresh and bright, great drinks, and our server was awesome! Attentive but not in our face too much. She welcomed my enthusiasm for food and took the time to actually chat with me. Parking: Free 3 hr underground parking lot.

They hire staff and put them as hostess with no training! Not nice to the poor hostess or confused customers. The tacos are also so dry!!!! Complete trash

I had a chicken enchiladas. They were fantastic. The house enchilada sauce was excellent. Top-notch food at a reasonable price. The place is very echoey, has no sound treatment and the music was too loud for the setting and size of space.. So someone needs to work on managing the atmosphere so it s tolerable for people to actually sit and talk. Overall, a great lunch, just needs a little help to make it better.

Had a very great time visiting. Very reasonable prices. Great flavours. Our waitress told us we were her first table served at this restaurant but you could not tell at all. She was great. Guac portion on the small side. Beautiful interior.

I enjoyed the tacos here. I like how you can choose different tacos for your set, for variety. Price is decent; Id like to take advantage of the happy hour with $3 per taco next time.

The food was OK, but quite overpriced for what they actually give you. That said the biggest downfall was our hair and clothes smelling like food the entire day because they have an open kitchen and not the best ventilation.

Meh. This place is a bit over rated. Everything about it was meh. The food was just okay. The service was normal. The environment left much to be desired. I wouldnt be opposed to going back but its not at the top of my list. There also are not many vegan/vegetarian options as a heads up.

Awesome spot for tacos and the like, but dont forget the cocktails as well! Clever and creative drinks on the menu with tremendous flavour. The bar is a great place to sit, eat, have a few drinks and enjoy a chat with the friendly staff!

Great food but I think management needs to step up and make sure the kitchen has sufficient supplies. At 3pm on a Saturday they were out of jackfruit and mushrooms. Someone needs to make a run to the grocery store.

We ordered 5 of the 4 street tacos. The braised beef taco and the chicken taco were delicious however, the Korean BBQ pork taco was the star of this meal. Washed this meal down with an ice cold coconut margarita. Flavours are on point at Taps and Tacos!!

I have been here before and we came back for their jar dessert(the peanut butter one is delicious)! The tacos used to be ok nothing amazing but I think now they are way better. I loved all the tacos and their bowls a really good too!

I would say this might be the best happy hour in the tri-cities. I know this is a massive claim but i genuinely believe it to be true. If youre balling on a budget-$2.50 tacos (think about it, garbage fast food tacos are 1.99$) that are incredible and 5 dollar drinks, 2 minute walk to the breweries? the beach 3 mins away? You kidding me ? You see the location and prices so you expect dog food-nope. That Tuna taco is hands down the best taco here but dont sleep on the Korean BBQ. I meant to post this 3 months ago but didnt want more people to go so i always had a table.

Title: Mediocre Tacos with a Side of Heart Burn. Hardly what I would call Mexican food. The tacos look authentic but the taste underdelivered. Too much sauce and shredded meat. Shredded beef? Are you joking, I thought theyd be carne asada, with some decent bite. You know, nice chunks of steak. Nah, shredded watery beef. The al-pastor wasnt much better, with an overpowering salty greasy sauce thatll leave you waking up at 2am wanting a Tums to ease the acid pit which the al-pastor has transformed your stomach into. Nothing in this place made sense- You enter and theyre blasting modern rap and some type of techno-esque music. The music was so loud it ruined the ambiance of the place. Maybe some latin music would be more appropriate? Then they hit you with the QR code menu. Red flag. Any restauranteur should know a real menu is an important part of the dining experience, everyone already looking at their Fin phones all the time, cant we just go out to eat without having to use an iphone as a crutch? Luckily, they do have proper menus upon request. Save your money, real Mexican food is hard to find in BC.

Folks the food is bland and not worth the money. Biggest waste of money went to rehanahs roti down the street and got 3x the food for the same price. Do better folks

This restaurant is good when it is good, but very inconsistent lately. The tacos have been very greasy and the two dishes the other day were extremely spicy to the point that they were not edible.

Came for lunch and very much enjoyed their tacos. Many good options including some creative fusions. Quick and good service. Establishment doesnt have much seating and the atmosphere is a bit drab but theyre trying to work with what they have, which is that industrial look. Cant praise them enough for their food though. The atmosphere was delightful. The food was glorious. The service was A+. Chicken Enchilladas were Devine and the Chicken Tortas was scrumptious. The drinks were what Margarita dreams are made of!

Good food and friendly servers but this place attracts the worst most entitled customers ever. We made reservations for today and someone else came in before us and lied to the hostess saying that it was their reservation. By the time we arrived, it was clear that these other people lied and stole our table, but instead of asking THEM to move, WE were forced to sit upstairs where it was uncomfortably hot. We did not feel like a priority and they basically rewarded these entitled liars for gaming the system. Not sure why they have reservations when they dont properly verify them. On a separate occasion, we were at the bar waiting for a table when a large group of people who finished eating and already paid their bills and didnt leave. Instead of allowing other people to have a seat at a table, they stayed the entire duration of our meal and we never got moved to a table, as requested. Hopefully the restaurant will have better policies in the future to deal with these situations, but I feel they just dont want to deal with a bunch of Karens (which I get), but it leaves other customers feeling discouraged and highly disappointed. I probably wont be coming back.

While I wouldnt call it authentic Mexican food, the delicious and inventive tacos blew me away. Try them all.

I have eaten here half a dozen times and only managed to take a picture of my meal once (and even in this one Im hiding the portion I immediately devoured). The tacos and enchiladas are excellent, so good I havent branched out on the menu yet. The tuna taco and the cauliflower are two of my faves but honestly I eat one of each every time and never even regret being too full, absolutely worth it. Pair it with a spicy marg and youre in for a real treat. Bonus points for many gluten-free options and a very knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere is simple and sweet, its possible to have a good conversation with your table despite it seeming on first appearance that itd be loud. The staff is friendly, approachable and the service is fast. I could go on and on Im realizing so TLDR; great food and drink, good prices, great staff and service and get yourself a taco. Dietary restrictions: The staff has very in-depth knowledge about their gluten-free options and accommodations. I am celiac and never had any issues eating here due to their incredible diligence and aid. Parking: There is a lot of free parking along the surrounding roads, it often requires a bit of walking, but its a beautiful area so we never minded.

Great happy hour place. Tacos recently went up from $2.50 to $3 though which is a bit of a bummer. Theyre small but packed with filling so at least theres no downturn in quality unlike many other restaurants. I enjoy bringing visitors here, paired with a nice Rocky point Park walk and a brewery.

Love heading down to Port Moody, and we always make a stop at Taps and Tacos. Amazing food, cold beer, and always a table available. If you want to try something amazing, head on over to this gem. My favorite dish is always chicken Toranado sandwich.

Love this place. Tacos are delish and bursting. Staff are wonderful. They can get very busy at times and seating isnt always available but is worth the wait. They have a good rotation of beer on tap too.

GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY | Visiting from Toronto for 15 days and I ve ate here 4 times. Don t sleep on the tuna taco or cauliflower taco, they are by far the best in my opinion and kept me coming back. all their tacos are gluten free as well! Their happy hour has some amazing prices and by far the best margaritas. It s not very often I m wowed by a restaurant, yet alone one that serves so many unique flavours. This spot won t disappoint!

We came in because we discovered their food truck Friday. However, the foods not the same. We tried the Birria Inspired taco Appy (the original Birria taco is worth waiting till a Friday night visit to their truck!) We then followed those with a Chicken, Korean BBQ, Pork Belly & Braised Beef tacos. Chicken and the Pork Belly were our favourites. The star of the show was Oksana, our waitress! She patiently explained every bit to us, and humoured us by finding ways to make things less spicy for us weaklings

The best quickest meal in town! I take my son once a week. Taco Tuesdays! Or any day. Great when you have a starving kid and everything is good on the menu. You can t go wrong. Good value and great food!

Went here for lunch. The first thing I noticed was when you walk in it smells really good! There was nobody there and it smelled great. Anyway ordered beef tacos and they were delicious. Lots of flavors going on with those little tacos! I would recommend this place if you like bold flavors.

We where upstairs, it was noisy, we where eating and one of the staff had i guess a problem and a lot of plates and glasses fell, the food is ok, it doesn t change my world but was fine, the queso fundido was bland, the torta and chicken torta ok, the salsas they have really good (habanero and green salsa), the michelada was tasty.

Tacos are very good. My favourite is the pork belly. We come here often for their happy hour menu. Recently, tried their chicken enchiladas and they are honestly the best I have ever had. The sauce was deliciously unique. Cant wait to go back

Must go in Vancouver - absolutely amazing food and vibes. Near the water so a great place to go before or after a stroll along the port. Great happy hour as well! Highly recommend.

Ive been going to Taps and Tacos ever since they opened. Whether I dine in or order for take out, the food is always delicious and fresh. I love their tacos because I have the option to pick different flavors and their dulce de leche cheesecake is my favorite dessert! Highly recommended!

Went for happy hour and tried their 3 for $9 tacos. I like tuna > pulled pork > chicken. Good value and interesting fusion flavours.

I went to the taco happy hour ($3 per taco!) I got the tuna, cauliflower and pork belly tacos, and the Jalapeño Margarita. The tacos were great, very modern with some fusion twists. The Margarita was perfect, very well made and not too sweet. The service was very friendly as well, and service was quick. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower tacos, burritos and bowls.
