2810 St Johns St #1, Port Moody, BC V3H 2C1, Canada
Great place, friendly service. Food is good. So much to choose from. If you take beef, I think the short rib is the best.
Not serving too many options here comparing to other Korean restaurants. But the focus pays off because their food are delicious! Staff were super nice and friendly, even when the place was busy.
Have been coming to this place for many years. Solid spot for pork bone soup that is in walking distance from Port Moody station. Before 7pm, the soup comes with hot stone rice. 🍚 Tip: to enjoy hot stone rice, scoop out the rice into another bowl (don’t touch the stone pot directly as its very hot!), and pour a little bit of the room temperature water (not too much) just to cover the remaining grains (nurungji - toasted rice grains) that are stuck to the bottom of the stone pot and cover with the lid. Check on it cause sometimes the water fizzes up. After a few minutes, or at the end of your meal mix and enjoy. 탕, 냉면 유명한 탕집이에요 감자탕을 먹었는데 7pm전에 돌솥밥도 나와서 좋아요. 포트 무디 역에서 걸어서 11분 정도 거리예요
I do love the stone bowl bibimbap, seafood pancake and Ox bone soup. The service is to be desired sometimes. But it is clean and organized. Great Port Moody neighborhood Korean food restaurant.
Definitely good corean food! Special highlight for the pork cutlet and seafood pancake, both were incredibly delicious. The menu does not have a big list of options but are enough to not get lost, I prefer that way. Affordable prices compare to downtown Vancouver. Service was fast and accurate. It is one of those places that does not look fancy but has the most important thing what matters in a restaurant which is great food. I would love to go back to explore other options in the menu even though the commute is really far from my home, probably next year during a more shiny and warm season like spring or summer so I can try the cold noodles.
It serves traditional Korean foods, like pork bone soup and cold noodles. The pork bone soup is a must-try, other dishes are also yummy. Friendly staff and cozy ambiance make it a good choice for Korean cuisine enthusiasts.(hope it will serve jajangmyeon someday
Really good korean food. I had high expectations. It wasn't up to the hype but it was still good. The pork cutlet sauce was little bland. The pork bone soup is delicious. The kimchi's were delicious. Very good pricing point. Friendly service as well. I would like to visit again and try other things on their menu.
Luckily I beat the lunch rush (Came here around 11:50am) Got sat right away and food came out fast! Their Pork Cutlet was fantastic, especially with their house made sauce! Definitely coming back for more!
Best Korean Restaurant of all
Still great authentic Korean food. Rice is still too hot for me.
Amazing food!
At 7:30 pm on October 10th, three people went and ordered two pork cutlets and ttukbaegi bulgogi. Both the pork cutlet and the stew were bland and too sweet. The service was very unfriendly. I didnt even ask if the food was okay. This is my first time seeing a place where only kimchi is served as a side dish. I wont have to go again.
Kimchi used to be so tasty but somehow it wasn t good this time..Food is still good and staff are friendly.
Naengmyeon is $19, but the portion size is too reduced. I was hungry after eating all the cold noodles, so I went to eat again.
I heard that gamjatang was delicious so I ate it with high expectations, but I didnt know what kind of ramen it was, but it tasted similar to ramen. The cold noodles were just as delicious as the cold noodles served at Korean meat restaurants. I really liked that the rice was served in a stone pot.
The beef mixed rice could really use more beef.
I cant help but doubt how this restaurant got these reviews. The insincere and unkind attitude is also terrible side dishes and hard to eat. Its a really dangerous place to take your kids. I strongly not recommend. I think its great to keep your business going this way. There were 5 of us with children, and we were shown to seats for 4 people, and even though there were no other guests in the hall, Its not that the child didnt order food, and even though we ordered 5 different dishes for 5 people, including the child, I commend you for running your business with the mindset of seating them all together at one narrow table. I hope that the person who serves uncooked stone pot rice and 3 pieces of kimchi as a side dish and still serves it is not the owner. Do your best at business, with the same attitude you had when serving me today. I wish you blessings. You better not bring your kids to this restaurant. Kids not welcome. If you dont want children coming, dont accept them. Rather, write We have a right to refuse the service at the entrance of the store. Kid-friendliness: You better not bring your kids to this restaurant. Kids not welcome. If you dont want your children to come, we wont accept them. Or, rather, write We have a right to refuse the service at the entrance of the store.
Their Spicy Pork Bone Soup is one of my favorite dishes period. Unfortunately I can t speak about the other dishes because everytime I m in the area here in Port Moody I have to get the soup haha. Their staff and servers are always really nice as well. Absolute gem of a place!
They close at 9 pm but turned us away at 8 pm.. The young lady was rude as well. Weve gone here a few times and liked pork bone soup. Not coming back.
Portion is ridiculously small considering the price, where is my microscope?
General food is okay, and the price is fair. But most of the food marked over $35 seemed not that great of a deal.
I came all the way from downtown to find it famous, but the pork cutlet is really the worst... to the point where I think the price is outrageous. Its also absurd that Korean restaurants dont have side dishes. The naengmyeon (naengmyeon) we ordered together tasted so common that it was a waste of money for car fuel.
July 2024 Too Salty Customer service is still very good, only one person at the front today and had to do it almost all. Good job! The atmosphere is great. Peaceful and quiet. Nice temperature, not too cold. I had Tofu soup today but it was unfortunate, it was TOOO SALTY! Perhaps theres a different chef. Fortunately, we also requested Ox soup which is plain taste broth. We mixed them both and the saltines decreased a bit. When we paid, I mentioned respectfully to the lady at the front that my soup was prepared with too much salt and if she did not mind telling the chef about it. Fortunately she was not upset and agreed to let the kitchen staff know. I am a fan of Korean food, but when it is not edible or it is unhealthy I want to share it with the world. Thank you! August 2022 Customer service is excellent. Cleanliness is better than many other restaurants. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. One thing I like from the food is that IT IS NOT SALTY IT IS HEALTHIER than many other restaurants. Thank you for not putting salt. Wheelchair accessible. Bus stops near by. Wheelchair accessibility: Free parking is available but difficult to bring out a wheelchair as it is down hill. However, if one arrives at the plató, it is easier to get off the car and bring the wheelchair out. Then, park.
Have a dinner
It tastes like Seolleongtang in Korea. Oxtail Gomtang and Ox Knee Soup are also clean, and kimchi is the best.
Food taste OK, Portion is terrible. Not recommending. Food : 3/5
Live close by, services went down since covid.hooing to see if there are improvement but nah.I guest I will go to some other place with better services
Delicious spicy beef bone soup in a quaint minimalist Korean joint.
Go to Tongileo in Coquitlam instead, better service, food (incl. soup), and atmosphere. This place was known for their Korean soups, so when my elderly family members asked for a nearby recommendation on a cold day like today, I suggested Tangmaru. When they arrived, the older Korean lady refused to let them sit anywhere but the table in front of the door (barked NO! twice when asked politely to sit elsewhere because of the cold chill), even though there were other tables available of the same size and she had NO (lol) problems letting other guests choose their seats afterwards. Keep in mind, my grandma was there and she is 87 and frail, which was why they wanted to move to another seat that wasn t getting the cold air from the door.
Wow, you must try bibim naengmyeon!! The seasoning was really delicious!!. I like that if you order one cold noodle and pay 10 more dollars, you can order another half-sized cold noodle. Instead, I think I can eat two bowls by myself. I also ordered pork cutlet. The meat was tender and delicious, but the sauce was sweet and fruity. I felt like the seasoning was a little lacking, but it was delicious.^^
Taste was good but the server is annoying. Food itself was expensive and once you add anything even soy suace, they charge you for $1. Hillarious. Theyre eagar to ripped you off
Its delicious, but the food is expensive.
Great soups.
Real slum Korean cuisine
Had GamjaTang, NaengMyun, and DonGas. GamjaTang was great. Food was overall too spicy. Nice to visit this place after strolling at the nearby Rocky Point Park.
Its been a while since I visited, but I was disappointed because the taste and quantity had changed. Gamjatang has a small amount of meat and few ingredients, so it is worth eating. There wasnt, and the pork cutlet smelled like pork and was disgusting. I dont think Ill have to visit anymore. Both the quality and quantity of food have gone drastically downhill. Will never visit again.
Food is ok, ur standard Korean food.
We went during lunch time in the weekend and the restaurant was full. Consequently, we switched to take out order. Parking: parking space is available but limited during lunch time.
If you like gamjatang, you should try this place. You will love gamjayang with stone bowl rice. Make sure be there before 7pm to get stone bowl rice.
Our go to for gamjatang even if we have to drive 25mins
I went to eat cold noodles at the recommendation of an acquaintance, but they said they dont serve it in the winter. So I didnt expect much and ordered another meal. The pork cutlet was sweet and good, and the soup tasted great. I found a good restaurant in Vancouver after a long time. Im looking forward to the cold noodles.
Theres always a line up (~15 min wait) around dinner time, but its worth it. Nowadays, they started asking for your food orders before seating you, so look at the menu near the door and have an idea ready. The classic soups are all around $15. If you dont know what to order, try the spicy seafood tofu soup (filled with spicy seafood flavor) or the ox bone soup (basic, light soup, where you add salt to taste). Those two are my go-tos! Once you sit down, get excited as the kimchi here is top tier (especially their radish kimchi)! Finally, if you care about getting your rice in a stone bowl, dont go an hour before closing (they stop serving rice in the stone bowls probably for how long those things take to clean if the customer doesnt soak it). Which, btw for the stone bowl rice: use the large (room temp) water jugs water to soak your stone bowls after you scoop out your rice (at the start of your meal). Soaking it like this makes it easier to clean, but also if you cover it and let it sit on the side, you get a simple rice porridge out of it.
No matter what you order, its all delicious... In particular, personally, the seolleongtang and cold noodles are the best... I liked the pork cutlet because it tasted like Korean pork cutlet!
The katsu was not my type
Good korean restaurant
I have been eating here since it opened so that was like more than 6 years ago. Best service amongst Korean places I ve been around town. Best food selections. (I tried almost everything on the menu). They are very busy so please understand when you see one or two people working and they got tables to clean, do dishes and serve you. If you want good Korean food and good Canadian service, come here and TIP LOTS!
Best korean restaurant
Best Korean food in town!
Love Tangmarus foods. Especially the cold noodles. No one makes them better than Tangmaru in BC. Wish I lived closer, so I can eat them weekly The restaurant deserves 5 stars!
For the first time in my life, I am leaving a review. Its so absurd and absurd Cant just pass by. I ordered braised ribs priced at 48.99. Just 5 pieces of meat. It costs about 10 dollars per piece. Its not a big piece either. It s tough 3 pieces of potato. 2 pieces of carrots. 1 piece of radish. Thats it. Its so amazing that I just laugh. Plus, its tasteless. The owner also set the price at $50 I dont understand 5 pieces of meat called galbijjim The chef who made it The server who serves it to the guests Didn t you think it was embarrassing? Doing business like that If you make a profit Happy??? No matter how much the price rises This is truly a scammer. $50 braised ribs There are only 5 pieces of meat. never again never never never never Im not going To the people around me I will tell you everything. I feel completely cheated.
The price went up and the quantity went down. The pork cutlet sauce was too sweet and the portion was small. My daughter, who can only eat one piece because there were too many pieces from other places, ate two pieces. The side dish was two pieces of radish radish and some cabbage kimchi on a plate, so I asked for more radish radish and was given two more pieces. I can clearly see the hesitation on whether to give me one more piece or not. Even the packaging is written on every table saying that it is the customers responsibility. I really wont do it again. I dont think Ill go.
Unexpected taste!!! The taste was so amazing. I was especially impressed with the seolleongtang and crucian carp. The staff were friendly and the food was clean and delicious.
It was hard to find a good cold noodle restaurant in Vancouver, but I finally found it :-) All the food was perfect I had a good time
I had been visiting this restaurant for about 3 years and never had such a bad experience which happened today. My spouse and I ordered 2 spicy pork bone soups which was our favorite dish in this place for years. When I started eating I realized my soup barely had any meat on the bones, however my spouse had enough meat in her soup. I mentioned that to our server, but all she said that sometimes it has less or more meat. But we had enough experience to know how less or more meat should look, as this soup literally had no meat in it. On top of that we asked our server twice to get additional kimchi, but we were promised and ignored twice by the same server who is younger lady who we never saw here before. You can see on the picture the amount of meat I got, I put it all on the rice. My spouse shared with me some meat from her soup because she saw that I was hungry. I wouldn t leave any negative review here if I was offered any solution.
Must try: 1) seafood pancake 2) steam beef tendon Recommended dishes Seafood Pancake, Tofu Soup
Really loved the flavor and all but I personally wish they would have a bit more meat in my dish and the dahng myun seemed cooked too long but other than that my family really enjoyed their food. Ipdaye I loved theor soup.bit pricy. None of us enoyed dontansu they had. 2 peice total but one of them tasted like it has been sitting in the freezer for a long time. Soup had a bit more meats than last time we visited. Another thing we really hated was as soon as we set down the waitress asked what we r ordering. We said give us a moment since we just got there. And asked for water instead of tea. She came back in about 10sec later with water and asked us again what we r ordering. Felt like they were rushing us and didnt feel welcomed. They gave us seat that was hust cleaned with bleach or lax or something. Very wet and smell of it bother us a lot. We couldnt touch or put our arm on the table for long time. Wasnt fully dried when food came either. Didnt like the water jug that looked like sitting there for long time . Lastly the menu... was on the wall. My parents couldnt even read them since too far away for them to read. Most likely wont be returning
the broth is just excellent and the service is very welcoming and warm!! highly recommend the cold noodles and the spicy pork bone broth
I love this place ! Amazing food, authentic familial and kind atmosphere. I recommend warmly! Food
so great
A cold noodle was really good. Other foods were just fine. I ordered pork cutlets because I saw people ordered pork cutlets a lot but actually the taste was just mediocre. Only cold noodle is the reason I visit here. The side dish kimchi was good though
It seems friendly but unfriendly...;; Before I even sat down, they told me to choose a menu within 1 minute... and they were watching me intently to see how much the tip was... Well, I ate well... Only the voice was friendly, but the behavior was not friendly at all. It wasnt a pleasant experience.
I decided to try Korean food here because I was in the area. The staff was very nice - asking us if we have ever had Korean food and what we would like to try. For my vegetarian friend they prepared Bibimbap without meat which was nice and considerate. I had a classic Bibimbap with a sauce on the side which allowed me to make my dish as spicy as I liked. I expected the meal to be a bit bigger - otherwise the whole experience was very pleasant.
I love their pork cutlet and spicy thin noodle. They are well known for their soups among Korean. Giving 3 stars due to their service, but their food deserves 4 or more stars.
Here is my favorite place to have cold noodle. I think here is better than some cold noodle place in Korea. But I put out one star, because the amount of pork cutlet is reduced significantly. But the same price. I know these days are hard to run a business, disappointing to me. Taste is the best.
They have the best cold noodle! Also their pork cutlet is good.
Food is decent but service is top notch!
I ran for 50 minutes to eat cold noodles. I ate cold noodles and ordered gamjatang, but there wasnt enough beef in both pieces, so the server said she would add extra beef. The lady with the wide hairband that gave off the owners vibe said she couldnt do it, but the server kept apologizing. What is so important about calculating? The server was busy working alone, but the sight of him not moving was disgusting. Its prettier to see them working together... I mean. The cold noodles were okay, but the gamjatang was honestly not that good.
It was my favorite restaurant, but it seems to have fallen a bit in terms of price, quantity, and quality these days. Naengmyeon is still the best in Vancouver.
We used to like to visit this place for cold noodles but yesterday, we had a terrible experience. The waitress served us with a tiny table for 2 people. We ordered pork bone soup and beef bone soup. We saw the waitress served one of our soups to the wrong table. A moment later, the customer on the other table checked the soup and called the waitress to say that its not his order. Surprisingly, that soup was served to our table again. We asked why the soup is not hot enough (to mention that this soup was served to the other table) and the waitress just smiled and ignored us and walked away. We were upset but we decided to stay and eat. After 2 stone rice bowls were served, there were not enough space to put them. Since there were 3 empty bigger tables and no one was waiting, we asked if we could move to one of the empty tables and what she said was it s a rule that once they serve customers to the table, they are not allowed to change the table. What kind of rule is that??? Those empty tables were not used until we were leaving. So, we asked to take the rice stone bowls away without eating them. At the cashier, we mentioned we cant give tips and we were asked what was wrong. Once the cashier heard what had happened and she only charged us one soup but still I dont think we will visit here again.
One of the best soups Ive had. Their cold noodles are super delicious too. Great portions and fresh tasting. Nothing fancy about this place, just a restaurant for family and friends to eat at. The service can be a bit slow because they get busy. Definitely a restaurant serving comfort meals. And yes, they serve their rice in the hot stone bowl. Parking: Parking lot is shared with other retailers so it might be hard to find a spot. Theres street parking and side street parking if theres room. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs
It was a bit muggy and stuffy in the hall, but I wasnt feeling well, but after eating gamjatang and pork cutlet, I was drenched in sweat and eating well. Ill go again next time~
Overall average korean restaurant
Less food ( even for a small Asian girl), expensive, taste is not good
Amazing food overall, but especially their cold noodles, its amazing. Price is decent too!
Its hard to find a trustworthy restaurant these days, but Im so happy I found Tangmaru. The food is delicious and clean, as if it was tailored to my sensitive taste. It doesnt feel like I bought the food after eating it, and its so clean. Thank you so much
cold noodle was great but other dishes were just okay. I am not sure why a lot of people order pork cutlet . It was quiet mediocre. Server wasnt that nice even. I dont think I will visit again.
During this trip, I really craved Korean food. I told a friend who lives locally that this is a good restaurant. I visited after receiving a recommendation, but to sum it up, it was below my expectations and I was very disappointed. (Please, the store owner, do not just calculate the customers who came from afar to eat the food in terms of money. It was very unpleasant!!) I read reviews on the way and the ratings for Gamjatang werent that high so I didnt order it. Other than that, the taste of the other foods we ordered wasnt bad. Also, there was a server in the hall who was very friendly and made a good impression. however, The inside of the store wasnt small, and it was large enough to require about 2-3 employees in the hall. He alone takes care of so many guests, It looked very busy. He kept apologizing to each table for being late. As a customer who paid money and received the service, seeing that made me feel sorry and couldnt call in to order more or ask for something that was lacking. There was a lady at the counter who seemed to be the boss based on her posture, but even when there were no customers paying, she didnt help with the work in the busy hall and seemed to be unaware(?) It didnt look good to us, the guests... The server was busily serving tables here and there on her own. Wouldnt it be a priority to help her and keep the hall running quickly? (Even for the convenience of guests??) Also, the interior is a bit... messy, Unknown stains on the wallpaper and ceiling? I saw things that looked like mold, Since it is a restaurant, I thought, aren t cleanliness and hygiene basics? And finally The service here is mediocre, but they tell you to leave immediately after eating... I feel bad that they left the bilge on the table while I was eating. I think the quality of service needs to be improved
Delicious Korean - worth the trip to PoMo.
I had gamjatang, and there were three large pork bones in it. I tried hard(?) to eat meat, but there wasnt much meat. There was almost no growth and not even a single potato. All there is is soup and three large bones with barely any meat on them... After eating, I wonder what I ate A feeling of shame. Even though its Vancouver and not Korea, I just think its too harsh... .
Best cold noodles ever!!
The best cold noodle you can find in town!! Donkatsu dish goes well with cold noodles. Extra noodle (half portion) available for only $8.5.
Best combo
I come here when I feel like to have soupy stuffs or Tonkatsu. It was extremely busy last Sunday. There s no kimchi side dish for us, but I still love this place!
Terrible service ever. Don t understand why they never check the order. I couldn t even get my menu even though I asked if my food is ready.
The seolleongtang is rich and delicious. Take the pot with you and buy it in bulk.
One of the best kimichis I had in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I find the portions to be quite small compared to other restaurants. The highlight is probably the cold noodles out of all the other dishes I ve tried
After a very full day and ridiculously long waits for dinner at every establishment we tried in the Brentwood area, we decided to head toward home (Airbnb in Belcarra) and stopped in, beyond famished, at TangMaRu. We arrived quite close to the last order and we were literally the last people leaving, but the server was very pleasant and kind despite having a ton of cleaning to do. My kids don t do well with spice, so we got the bulgogi, which to my surprise was a soup with lots of veggies, tender beef and potato noodles. They raved about it and insisted I also leave a rave review. :) My dolsot bibimbap was also very tasty.
A bit pricy. Hot stone rice bowl is limited. Need to expect not able to get those. And you still need to pay same price. And adding noodle cost a lot.
Cold noodles were soooooooooo legittttttttt. So chewy. 10/10 texture and taste.
The pork cutlet had a bit of a meaty smell and I personally didnt like it, but the cold noodles were delicious.
Good food. Beef tendon tastes amazing with the dipping sauce served. Proton tend to be smaller but definitely a good place for some authentic Korean food.
Service was bad, they seems not care about customer, (their service just telling you to take your order, eat then leave, dont waste our time.) Food taste was just average, soup proportion was small.
taste is literally the same as the Koreans restaurant in Seoul, sogoodd. Ill go there again, definitely.
It was so delicious that I came back again. On my first visit, the food was delicious in the following order: cold noodles > pork cutlet > gamjatang. When I visited again, I was surprised at how delicious it was in that order: gamjatang > pork cutlet > cold noodles. The cold noodles are especially delicious and the radish radish kimchi and kimchi are delicious! If you eat gamjatang, it comes with stone pot rice. I think it would be a good place to visit when you miss Korean food in Vancouver.
The BESTTTT soup I ve ever had
You already know it s a good place when you see it s packed with Koreans inside in a little strip mall. Fast and efficient service, needless to say good food.
The taste is so-so. Employees are unfriendly
Well known for very good spicy & cold noodles, pork cutlets and spicy pork bone soup among the Korean population in Vancouver.
Gamjatang was really delicious before, and this time, the combination of cold noodles with cold noodles, bibim cold noodles, and pork cutlet... haha. So delicious!
Good genuine Korean cuisine. Would recommend.
I hadnt been here for a while because of the pandemic but the food is still great. My favorite is the spicy pork stone bowl.
Best korean soup place Must try the cold noodle!
It was delicious good
Great place... Old school Korean food. A staple in Port moody
Delicious meal! Hope to try their next time
Naengmyeon is alright. Noodles are good, broth is flavorful, just not my personal preference on taste.
Experienced in Canada First hangover soup~ Better than any bone haejangguk in Korea. It was delicious. For some reason, the chef here He seems to be the owner of tremendous endurance.
Pretty good quality of foods. When u go on busy time, server wont come to you
We ordered by phone. Apr 23. They told us wait outside until we call you to say that the food is ready for pickup. We waited from 6:45 to 7:30 nobody called. It was a busy day for them. We could see that all tables inside were taken. We were not sure what to do. Eventually couldnt wait any longer. One of us went inside to investigate another 15 minutes passed till he could get a hold of one of their crew. She asked for our phone number and found the order on their system. Without any explanation or apologizing for their terrible customer service, she simply brought up the credit card machine and asked for the payment. . . She couldnt speak English well . Our friend paid for the order and was told to wait another 10 minutes. Finally we got our food at 8pm . An hour and 15 minutes after we ordered. . . We took the expensive dinner home and just realized that they were really not fair with the amount of meat or seafood in stew or any one of our 6 orders. . . Everyone was hungry so they just wanted to have their dinner and not complain. . . I was the host and extremely disappointed and embarrassed. . . For example the seafood tofu soup was full of onion, tofu but almost no seafood. Only one small muscle, 4 tiny shrimp. That was all. . . I understand that any restaurant gets too busy or too quiet sometimes and its hard to predict how much food to prepare, . . but thats not an excuse to serve just a little food because you dont have enough for every order. Best solution is to Not Accept any more orders when you know that you wont have enough food left. . . We will never order from this place ever again. . . I think they should be ashamed and actually return our money because we were charged but they didnt provide. . . Extremely disappointed. . . . . .
To be honest, this place is famous for its cold noodles being more delicious than soup. Just give me a little more noodles and it would be perfect!
I visited around 7:20 on a Saturday and ordered cold noodles, pork cutlet bossam, and when the first cold noodles came out (please give me some kimchi), the tall, short-haired server bluntly told me (they dont serve kimchi with cold noodles) that we also had bossam, but they didnt give us any kimchi until the end. The service is absolutely terrible.... All the food was delicious Is kimchi not served in Bossam too? Only the white kimchi that comes with bossam Is it difficult to give customers food they want even if it doesnt come out? I felt really bad because the server was unfriendly. I didnt want to tip when paying, but I gave 15% and they greeted me so kindly... No matter how busy you are, this doesnt seem to be the case It wasnt that busy this time of day... I dont expect great service If only you were as kind as you were when receiving tips...
Good parking place. We order Korean style. 2.spicy cold noodles and 2.Bibim noodles for Lunch. Very delicious & Very good serving and economy price.
$13 cold spicy noodle was very nice
Pretty good place to get some korean food. We had the gamja tang and dolsot bibimbop. We saw lots of people have katsu and cold noodles too which looked good. Pretty busy place but high turnover. There was a small short line when we went midday on Sunday.
Good.
A place to go often! All menus are delicious. Satisfactory place.
The galbitang and bibim naengmyeon are delicious. Oh...and I was impressed by how friendly the staff was.
Best gamzatang restaurant in Vancouver.
Very busy!
Rude servers
Authentic Korean kitchen. We were hungry came in and this kind of food was perfect! Reasonable price too. Recommend.
Not even one star is worth it. I waited for a long time and wrote down the menu on the reservation paper, but cold noodles and pork cutlet came out, but no meal came out, so I asked and was told that the food would take a long time, but when I got tired of waiting and asked just to go, they didnt even order. 7 people left after waiting for food for 1 hour and 10 minutes with two cold noodles and a pork cutlet, exhausted. I felt sorry for the guest I brought and got scolded.
One of the Best Gook Bap(Soup and Rice) place in town! Rice comes with Stone hotpot, so, it s extra delicious! Make sure you pour the rice into the separate bowl right away! My go to is Sulung Tang and Galbi Tang. My wife likes Yook Gae Jang. Enjoy!
Good taste. The kimchi is one of the best in all of Greater Vancouver. Would be nice if they didnt pester the customers to make an order even before sitting down and taking a look at the menu first.
Cold noodles & pork cutlet
Parking: Own parking lot
Gamjatang (pork stew) and rice in a stone pot, and the first thing you eat after pouring out the water is the scorched rice, kimchi, and radish radish radish.... Kiya~~~^^
I ordered and ate galbitang, but I was very surprised because the amount of ribs was so small. The broth tasted great. The staff service is also good.
Here, even when customers give tips, they snort as if they dont value it. If you like the service, give a big tip. It seems that the cutlet is getting smaller and smaller every day and the only thing customers see is money.
one of the best authentic Korean restaurant
Just delicious...
It tastes good. Its at the level of a Korean restaurant.
I always get the donkatsu here. Tastes like traditional Korean cutlet.
Parking: Parking is a bit limited
The servers are very friendly and the cold noodles are the best in Vancouver. It tastes like eating at a Korean cold noodle restaurant!!! Dont go anywhere else really;.; Im giving you nothing other than this;.; I recommend ordering cold noodles and pork cutlet together I tried everything, including bossam, gamjatang, and boiled pork, and it was all delicious. I was especially impressed with the kimchi... That japchae The kimchi is so delicious that even Jonggat s daughter-in-law fainted.
It s rare to find (the thin grey noodle) outside of Korea so I was happy they had it here. The broth was a lot sweeter than I m used to so that was the only downside.
I really wanted to visit this place as it was well known for pork katsu and pork bone soup. However, it turned out to be so-so to me. The best one among what I ordered was cold noodle. Pork bone soup had pork smell in a little bad way. And the portion of pork katsu was good but the taste was not extraordinary. Maybe I was not too starving on that day or the ingredients were less fresh. So I would like to visit again for pork bone soup if it is always the same quality as I had or better.
authentic korean food, really awesome beed soup!
I dont leave reviews often, but the authenticity and the flavors of the dishes here are amazing. The taste reminds me of home cooking. You really cant go wrong with the dishes here! Personal favorites are the tonkatsu, nangmyeon, seafood pancake
Fast service & yummy food
One of my goto Korean restaurants when there are so many to choose from. Has gone a bit salty lately for my taste but still a great place to eat. All the menu items taste great, good portions, and cold noodles (neng-myun) is the best during the hot days. They seem to have their own press for the noodles.
Wow, just really amazing food. The best seafood pancake Ive had by far.
Was super busy when I went so there was a bit of a wait but it was super worth it! So delicious! Definitely hope to come back soon! They also took our order while we were waiting so the food was ready and came out quite quickly!
It was originally a giant pork cutlet. When did you become a little pork cutlet? Delete all photos of Daewang Pork Cutlet from Google. The price is the same 18 Annoying
Its been a long time since Ive been there, but it wasnt the same. It was nice to see that business was going well because there were a lot of people waiting... The quantity is too small and the quality is poor. But even though we hadnt finished eating, we had to stand up as if we were being chased by people waiting for us. I dont know if Dahoon Yoon is still running the place, but I dont know if he carries on the same spirit he used to greet every table.
naengmyon is super good! (bibimnaengmyon). not really a fan of their pork cutlet. i recommend they have a small and large size to choose from. the only option is one with 2 cutlets and a very scoop of rice. im not a big pork eater....but preferred they had an option of 1 cutlet and 1 scoop of rice for say $12.99.
After my mother was discharged from the hospital after being hospitalized for a long time, I felt tired and thought about kimchi a lot, so I took her to Tangmaru. After the last call, the cooking fire was turned off and it was finished. The staff was finishing the deadline, but when they heard about the situation, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the chef and manager who prepared the rib stew and kimchi kkakttu with great care despite the hassle. Thanks to this, my mother was able to eat well and gain energy. In addition to the delicious warm soup and kimchi, the warm sincerity and heart... I would like to express my gratitude in this review. Thank you.
Very authentic Korean restaurant. We really enjoyed the food.
The pork cutlet is delicious and the soup is also delicious.
Went on a Sunday right when they opened so no line-up. Got busy later on. Mom and pop type of restaurant. There menu had a lot of soups but there was other dishes also. No grilled meat if that is what you want. I had the spicy pork in a stone bowl which I enjoyed. Portion size was decent also. The Kim Chi and pickled daikon was good. Service was fast. The waitress explained the different dishes and came back a couple of times to ask if everything was ok. I would definitely go back again.
Best gam ja tang in town
Best tonkatsu and naengmyeon in the neighbourhood!
Really good. Even better than Wang ga ma. Gamja tang was 100.
I ordered seafood soft tofu to take out and when I opened it at home, the tofu was trash. Broken tofu, even just a little bit, The vegetables are a little onion and a little pumpkin! I ordered 4 and they were all in the same condition. I guess the owner has changed. I was so disappointed. I cant give it even one star.
Delicious gamjatang restaurant
One of best korean restaurant around area
I ordered gamjatang and pork cutlet. It seemed like they made the pork cutlet sauce themselves, and it was delicious. The gamjatang looked like it had been boiled for a long time, so I was satisfied with the rich soup and tender meat! However, I was honestly a bit disappointed when they said they would charge extra wasabi soy sauce.. How much does it cost? If you just dissolve the cost into the price of gamjatang and give it to customers for free, I think Ill go once or twice, but its a shame. I dont know if Ill go there again in the future... well . The server was also friendly, so I was grateful.
