Our first visit this evening with 2 guests - we all were very happy with every aspect of our experience - easy to make the reservation, greeted and seated by a pleasant welcoming young man, loved the atmosphere, had a fantastic, knowledgeable, pleasant server, we shared an appy and all ordered a different dish - we were all very happy with the dish we chose - it was sure a special evening in every way - we will definitely be back and look fwd to the same experience - CHEERS on a job well done😊😊
Had dinner at the restaurant a few weekends ago. My husband had the pork schnitzel. WOW. when it arrived it was this ridiculously huge piece of very thin, very dry pork. It didn't look or taste like pork schnitzel should. It seemed like was just a breaded and deep fried over flattened piece of pork...if indeed it was pork...so dry it was hard to tell. My husband is uncomfortable sending unsatisfactory meals back to the kitchen. So we paid for it and left....disappointed!
A gem of a restaurant in cottage country. Great food, great drinks, great setting and great atmosphere. Wait staff was fun and attentive. Bartender was well-versed. Chefs are from Italy...
Went to celebrate my Dads 75th birthday. Food was great, server was great, but service was a bit slow. Not the waitresses fault by any means. They definitely need a new hostess. She has no manners. We wanted to add 3 people to our reservation and were told we could only add one more when I called ahead. Not to mention she was a bit rude with her response . When we got there the restaurant was half empty on one side and there was an empty table for four right beside us. When we questioned our waitress about it, she told us there shouldn’t have been any problem adding 3 more to our table. And she was definitely capable of handling more. As we were having this discussion, the hostess was serving the table next to us and interrupted us to state that they’d had cancellations. Wow!! That many people canceled?! I call bull. I think maybe we caught her in an untruth, that’s what I think. It’s too bad she made the restaurant lose out on income.
Undercooked slimy grilled calamari which was brought to the attention of staff with clear evidence of the slimy undercooked parts. It was apparently brought to the attention of the chef & nothing was done about it, which is very poor customer service. It was a gag reflex activator for me, which is not typical. :( Disappointing as this is the closest restaurant to our cottage and we have eaten here regularly for years through the summer. Our server was great. Menu/drinks seem a bit overpriced for what you get. Pizzas are usually a safe bet but quality/quantity of toppings seems to be less over time.
We've been here several times. It is our favorite restaurant in the area. Amazing authentic Italian food, Chef Luigi adds lots of variety with imaginative dishes. The service is great as well.
Extremely disappointed. RUINED OUR NIGHT ! Have been here before. The food was excellent. However upon arriving to our reserved table for our anniversary, we were met with terrible service. Our waitress, Stacy was quick to come read us the specials and take our drink orders. But after over half an hour we still did not have drinks of any kind. Even our water glasses sat empty. A table came in behind us after about 15 minutes and immediately had wine, water and an appetizer order in. We were ignored. We are a younger couple celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We felt discriminated against and profiled. My wife thought it was because "she didn't dress up nice enough" this upset me quite a lot as she looked beautiful. When our drinks were finally prepared, they were left on the bar and other people were served. My wife went to go get the drinks herself and I asked for the bill. We were apologized to and the drinks were comped. However the discrimination towards us was more than insulting. We are locals who live very close and are extremely invested in the community. This was extremely disappointing. Not only will we not ever be returning, I will make sure to tell everyone about how disgusting the service was and how rude the server was to us. I feel as if we were profiled as "poor" and therefore didn't receive the service we should have. Literally, multiple tables around us got served as we sat there feeling awkward. SHAME on you. This reputation will be spread across the area. I promise.
July 15, 2022 - a fabulous lunch at Oak Bay. Started with Monica, then the 60-hr dude, finishing with chef adjusting the lunch dishes for us with some amazing shrimp dishes. Give yourselves a treat - not cheap but we’ll worthwhile. Thank you. Again. We don’t understand the reviews. We’ve talked to countless ppl who have raved about the food. We went today for an early dinner, server was Kent. Place wasn’t busy so perhaps that’s a consideration but service was excellent, food was quick, hot and absolutely delicious. Chef was amazing and accommodating with a last minute change. It lived up to every high expectation we came with. I would add that all restos are having trouble post reopening with getting staff. Anyways, we will be back in a heartbeat.
The chef has an anger issue and need needs help to control his temper. He is aggressive, and I felt unsafe with his actions towards my husband over gravey. If I could give a zero because 1 star is too much for this restaurant. Food

We eat here several times a year. We had dinner for the first time in 2024. We usually eat pizza which is very good....verging on excellent. The atmosphere is very nice. The pizza was very good. The service was prompt and very good. We will be back for sure.

Wonderful experience at Oak Bay Clubhouse restaurant. The restaurant overlooked the golf course and the atmosphere in the restaurant was classy, clean and bright. From hosts to wait staff, they were a delight to chat with. We were there for mothers day dinner and ordered from the set menu. Great variety of options to choose from, food came out timely and was delicious. We look forward to returning again!
How can a place with so many bad reviews with exceptionally bad service still be Ignoring customers and providing the same bad service if they want to stay in business.
Avoid and don t support this business. The location and setting is nice but that s where it ends. The menu prices just keep going up yet the quality keeps going down. I was served a Cesar salad that was clearly not freshly made and came out of a package. It was like a bagged salad kit from a grocery store. To top it off, the salad was lacking dressing and after asking for more dressing, without being told in advance I was charged for extra dressing. This is not our first visit, we have given this restaurant many chances and the continue to disappoint.
First time trying this restaurant, and wont be returning. I ordered over the phone for pickup and the man on the phone said he would need a credit card number and took down card number, expiry and cvc. Ive never had to provide all the card details like that so I was a little thrown. When we went to pay the man selected 15% tip without us giving the okay to do so. Why are we required to tip on takeout? The food we ordered was not only wrong but absolutely terrible. We didnt even eat it just threw it right out. It s unfortunate that this place is so bad because its the only restaurant in the area for cottagers.

Nice staff, great location and view. Pricy food as you would expect from a club house. However when I pay $25 for a burger I expect something tastier and better than a big Mac. Instead I got a cold bun and dried out thin patty that was worse. Disappointed.
This restaurant was way underrated. Food quality was excellent and was extensive for a club house. Pizza was wood fired and thin crust.
My daughter and I had dinner at the restaurant and the service was exceptional and the food amazing. Do not understand the negative reviews but when you see these went back during COVID lockdowns, all restaurants were struggling to meet expectations. Unfortunate that people are so short sited and not able to put service into perspective. I would rate a 10 plus and recommend it anyone.
The food is fabulous and not severely over priced. They always have an abundance of specials. The pasta dishes and pizzas are always a favourite of ours. I think during the pandemic, the club struggled to find experienced waitstaff (similar to many restaurants), but have appeared to have found some great staff members more recently. The view from the patio is beautiful. How can you beat eating your lunch overlooking Georgian Bay?! We will definitely go back again and again!!
Great restaurant, Luigi is an amazing chef! We always make the time to come here when we are visiting!! Sometimes the wait can be long but it s worth it for the delicious food !
The only things worthwhile is the view and decent food else service was horrible. Had been bothered with flies and they didn t care, my water had a dead bug but they took ages to replace water, after initial serving no one bothered to check in and lastly get the google map address right
They were terrible service and the chef is super disrespectful after we asked why or food wait was over 2 and a half hours expect a very long wait
We re pretty accommodating people but we literally waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We left. Many reviews commented on the service. It s too bad because the menu looked delicious. A little too casual responding to our concern.
I had booked a reservation for 7pm, our waiter was Kent. He took our drink/food order and then didnt come back. After 30 mins my husband went in and asked another waitress if we could get our drinks (questioned about the food) and she delivered the drinks with in the next couple minutes. About another hour later we asked if Kent still worked there. At this point Kent came out with a bill that had items on it we never ordered. We asked to speak to the manager and then the bill (that wasnt ours) was comped. Disappointed all around.
I could go on for days about how terrible our experience was at this restaurant but Ill break it down, It took 45min for drinks thanks to our server KENT then he ignored our existence for another 45 minutes until we complained!! Then he finally took our order and now the waiting began........... Over an hour later still no food and absolutely no service by Kent so we left. The restaurant wasnt busy what so ever all I can say it avoid this place at all costs.
My review is not to bash the place, service was good, atmosphere is amazing, it was pretty busy. We had 14 ppl for a bday dinner, so we ordered a variety of different main dishes. My wife and I both ordered the pickerel because we dont get to have it very often. The pickerel was terrible, how do you mess up the best tasting fish? ZERO TASTE, not sure whats going on there but it has definitely changed from the few previous times we have been there.
This past week we had the pleasure of having Tyler take care of us for dinner. He was friendly, personable and a pleasure in general. The food and service was great, so much so, we went back a second time, hoping to have Tyler again and we did Once again the experience and service were great. Also, I had the meatloaf special and it was the best meal I have ever had there. Every bite was delicious!
Tried to eat dinner there with my family but the service was so terrible we didn t even get to order food before we decided to go back to our place and make dinner instead. servers are rude and not worth the visit the place is nice food looks good but the servers are so rude and bad I ll never return
