123 Victoria St, Potts Point NSW 2011, Australia
Panoramic view of Sydney city skyline from the terrace, a premium Mexican seafood menu is accompanied by an extensive wine list and delicious cocktails. A tropical oasis nestled in the backstreets of Potts Point.
A great spot nestled in Potts Point. Gorgeous views of the city, recommend getting here around 6.30 to enjoy sunset dinner and cocktails. Staff are super friendly, and each dish was served promptly. Definitely check it out, particularly if you can get a terrace table right next to the garden.
The outdoors area has a lovely view of the city! The dishes are for sharing. Food was very good. The half order of lamb is generous and good for 2 or 3 persons to share. The heirloom tomatoes were very tasty too. The service is warm and friendly.
I’m here on a work trip for a few days, being from Melbourne I am quite the spoilt foodie. I was looking for the perfect spot for solo dining. If you are a solo traveller looking for the perfect spot with delicious food, a fine cocktail, lovely service and a beautiful view.. look no further than The Butler I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the beautiful decor, everything from the lighting to the menu design was immaculate. The attention to detail and consistency throughout the venue was very pleasing. I saw one of the waiters resetting a table cloth with an iron, I was like wow, that’s next level but I love it it. What I had to drink: 🍹I had the Mango Mezcal Tommy’s What I had to eat: 🍽️ I ordered the crispy calamari tostada and shaved squash toastada ! It is usually a minimum order of two serves for each type of tostadas I was lucky enough that my very kind waiter checked with the chef if she could do one each for me so I can try two different options That way I didn’t have to order four to try the two options I was keen on. And so grateful that they did this for me otherwise I would have struggled to finish them. I preferred the calamari toastada, the calamari was cut beautiful in bite size pieces, not oily or heavy. It was delicate and balanced nicely with the chile arbol lime mayo. 😍 Not to say the shaved squash wasn’t incredible, I am biased because I’m not a vegetarian. However as a former vegan/vego, if still was a vegetarian - I’d be blown away by the options on the menu and the shaved sqaush tostada was divine ! I could of stayed longer, the atmosphere was amazing, the view was gorgeous. I had to head off otherwise I would of ended up ordering one too many cocktails 😂 I’m really keen to visit again next time I’m in Sydney - thanks so much to the lovely waitstaff, bartenders and chefs!
A gorgeous restaurant with a gorgeous view of the city. I visited recently and went back 2 days later again as the food was just wow. The flavours of the tuna and the seaweed butter were the stands out for me but everything was super tasty. The staff were warm and welcome and I was never without a drink in my hand. Service was fantastic - Pam was an absolute delight taking care of us. Perfect spot for a date night and a great for a catch up with friends too! I will be back for sure ☺️
The food was incredible and the service was brilliant. I have some allergies and our server was very attentive with them. Everything we had was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic.
I’m so excited to be here for the first time with my family! The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff has been super friendly. Try lamb Barbacoa with Corn tortilla pack. We’re definitely planning to come back!
Thank you for bringing The Butler back to it's usual standard. Wait staff were amazing. Cocktails perfect and food delicious. The oysters fresh so fresh. The flat grilled snapper was to die for. Duck is a huge portion - couldn't finish it. If you order the ora salmon be sure to get the dressing onto it. Loved my experience.
Great dining experience at the bottomless lunch @ The Butler. Food was plentiful and drinks generous. The outlook just added to the experience for our party of four. Service was very prompt and responsive. Highly recommended.
Nice venue with good food and great views. The restaurant is downstairs from the bar at street level. Small banquet option has copious amount of food with well-sized dishes. Some of the dishes taste great, some taste ok. Nice and tasty mocktails available.
One of the best meals I ve had in Sydney! The unique dish flavors were incredible, complemented by stunning decor and sunset views over the city. The attentive staff and beautiful food made our dinner one to remember.
I had my 40th birthday there for a group of 18 ladies. The care and time Roxy spent with me before the event and the level of service the whole table got on the day was incredible. I would 100% recommend the Butler as they were so lovely before during and after my special day! Dietary restrictions: They were very accomodating for all our dietary requirements! Nothing was too hard for them and they were just so lovely about it!
Food wow, BUT very very expensive.
This is a wee hidden gem. We felt very comfortable right from entering and the service was impeccable. The food outstanding. Absolutely highly recommend
We went here for a function. A beautiful spot with a great variety of food and very delicious.
Our waitress Neave was so attentive we loved having her so much. The food and the bottomless option was amazing and she made it even better! Thank you Neave
Amazing meal and wonderful atmosphere . Food
The Butler never disappoints! Beautiful food, staff, atmosphere and views. The staff can t do enough to facilitate a wonderful experience. If you re looking for a bottomless brunch venue, in particular, The Butler is unbeatable for value for money. The non-alcoholic cocktails are excellent if you re not drinking (which is hard to come by in Sydney). Thank you for hosting such a wonderful afternoon for me and my friends particularly Tom the GM who went above and beyond.
Pam was the best
The food was absoutely delicious, in particular the tacos. The balcony with view on the city was just magical. Will come back soon.
The restaurant has a very nice view of the Sydney skyline, especially if you can sit on the terrace. Thanks to radiant heaters, this can also be used in cool temperatures. The food and the mixed cocktails were great. The price-performance ratio is right here. The service was also attentive and helpful. I recommend making a reservation.
Fabulous, extremely fresh and exquisite food served by pleasant, well trained staff against the backdrop of Sydneys spectacular skyline. Situated in Victoria St in the old Mezzaluna site, is a must for those who appreciate the finer side of dining and wine selection.
Very great restaurant with very good service.
This was a difficult review, because the food and staff were absolutely fantastic, but the atmosphere was intolerable. The music was cranked up so loud that it was impossible for our small family group of five to have a conversation, other than with the person immediately next to you. The music ruined our night. I understand they are trying to create a vibe, but that does not justify nightclub levels of music. If youre under 40 and there are just 2 of you, its a great spot. If youre older or in a bigger group, avoid!!!
Beautiful restaurant in potts point with a very interesting variety of cocktails and food The sashimis are so good and the cocktails were delicious but the highlight was definitely the dessert which was the chocolate mousse one The decor is very refreshing and relaxing with garden vibes Good service too
Great view, friendly service but I cant recommend food - fish was oily, duck was dry and we felt sick after having lunch here. Also the music was so loud that we couldnt have a normal conversation as a couple. It used to be an amazing place with fantastic food some time ago. Its a shame that its not anymore.
This was, hands down, the worst restaurant experience I ve ever had. First, despite making a reservation, I was left waiting indefinitely while staff figured out where it was. Then, my boyfriend ordered a whiskey, not once but twice, and both times the glass was filthy and covered in dust absolutely disgusting. To make matters worse, the menu was completely misleading. We ordered king prawns expecting a substantial main course, only to receive a pathetic serving of just four prawns for a shocking $50, with absolutely no sides no salad, no rice, nothing. Just four sad prawns on a plate. It s beyond belief. I would never go back.
Amazing experience at lunch with the feed me menu
Incredible food and drinks with perfect service to match. This was our second visit in the last few months. Firstly, the Spicy Ex and the Mango Mezcal Tommys on the cocktail list have to be among the best Margaritas in the city. The new food menu is simply sensational; pan seared scallops and the achiote red rice were the standouts for us but everything we ate was faultless. The ambiance on the terrace was beautiful, and an amazing vibe out there even on a Tuesday night. But most of all, the friendly staff and service made this a legendary experience. Our server Hannah from the UK was a delight and the manager Jorja added some magical finishing touches to our night, like a sparkler on our dessert to celebrate my mums first visit to Sydney. Couldnt recommend this venue enough, especially when celebrating something special. Thank you, The Butler!
The food was great and the service from Pam was amazing, her attitude of gestures and facial expressions. Thats how it should be, she was very, very attentive and friendly. Gladly again. Jenny
Last night I ate there and I can tell you it was amazing. Thankyou guys for making the night so great and the views where next level. Lee sarris
A local hero, The butler. Great during the day and sexy at night. I love the atmosphere here. The seafood variety and flavors are a delight and the service is consistently friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Recommend the banquet, great value for money, small groups or large.
Great city views if seated on the balcony, calamari tostadas were excellent
One of our favorite restaurants in Sydney. Loooooved the tacos - really a must try!! But also the starters (ceviche) are amazing
Warm welcome, friendly, efficient service and of course great choice of tasty and scrumptious dishes and deserts. The sharing formulae is a good one. Thank you for the enthusiasm and care from everyone at the The Butler. A heartfelt and well deserved THANK YOU ! Vegetarian options: Wide choice of vegetarian dishes. Im sure that Chef would be very accommodating in meeting special requirements.
Great atmosphere to come with friends, family!! Great food and cocktail Recommend!
The best place in Potts Point and probably Sydney. Incredible food and atmosphere and the staff are always extremely professional and very relatable.
I just popped in for lunch by myself and was looked after by the Fabulous Pam. A perfect way to spend an anniversary in Sydney.
Pam- killed it! Best server!!!
We came here for a special occasion and were drawn in by the terrace photos and it didn t disappoint! We visited on a relatively cold night, but the temperature was perfect. I regret not takingg any pictures of the food because the presentation was spot on. The staff were super friendly, and when our choice of wine wasn t available, they gave us a free cocktail instead nice touch! We felt the value for money was solid. We shared the Butler crudo to start, followed by the lamb, and finished with pannacotta and chocolate mousse. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were just right (the lamb was perfect for two to share). We ll definitely be back!
Pam is amazing and she looks after so well and I cant even explain how special she made my friends wedding day was! Im giving 6/5 stars :)
We had a lovely dinner at The Butler, service was great and super friendly, the was food delicious, nicely presented and generously served. Nice wine list...all in a stunning setting, fab view of the city and nice/trendy atmosphere. If you are in Sydney CBD, The Butler is a must try.
Visiting Sydney on a work trip and stumbled across the Butler. Best dining experience Ive had yet in the city and Pams service was excellent, highly recommend.
Service was amazing, atmosphere was great, food came out quick and was delicious, and the cocktails even more so!! Highly recommend for special occasions like date night, birthdays, etc.. Very well priced for the top notch experience.
Food was delicious, especially the salmon crudo and raw rock oysters. Service was friendly and attentive. Also flexible, as they made their formerly signature expresso martini for my friend, even though it was discontinued. Also good, and well highlighted, gluten-free options. Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options!
Recomended their fish and seafood just amazing
One of the nicest dining experiences in my life. Absolutely, everything was on point. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian option was delicious and abundant.
The restaurant is bomb! Best Mexican food in town. Really good atmosphere with good drinks menu! Welcoming service from the staff !!
Waited too long for the food and not even busy. Not very attentive service. Atmosphere is very cosy. Food was good but not great. Not much choice for drinks other than alcohol.
Good food. Good service Great ambience Food
Very good dining experience
Its been a while for us so it was fantastic to return to the Butler recently for a wonderful dinner. It is always reassuring when you revisit great place to find the commitment to excellence has not slipped at all. We had a fabulous evening, with great food and wonderfully engaging people serving us. The Butler is up there among the best restaurants in Sydney. Thanks for great experience - and we wont leave it as long next time!
The setting of the restaurant is charming, and the food matches the ambiance perfectly. The flavors were well-balanced, and the service was impeccable. A great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
Solid bar in a good spot.
they probably changed chefs, the quality of the dishes isnt good anymore, so oily. Broccolini s where swimming in oil. top looking place. Great service too... Food
Excellent quality and flavorful food. Extremely attentive service! However, if you choose to dine outside at the balcony area, be prepared to eat accompanied by a rat.
Everything was really good till a mouse started to go around the tables as it was very familiar with the place. Im sorry, but this is disappointing! Disgusting . For a $98pp menu, sharing the space with mouse is not acceptable, c mon Too expensive for what it offers I do not recommend at all!
Wonderful food and cocktails. staff was super accommodating to our dietary requirements. All this with a gorgeous view.
Amazing food, excellent vibe!
Like so many places in Sydney, style over substance. 1 extra star cos the view is nice.
Good place to stop at for a drink
We had a great time , service was fantastic!!
Great service, amazing views and delicious food. The service was impeccable and prompt. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, and I appreciate the Butler team for making the birthday celebration special. The food was delicious, especially the fries, market fish tacos, and Red Achiote rice, which were bursting with flavor. The only dish that fell a bit short was the cheese empanadas, which could use a bit more flavor. We will definitely be visiting again. Dietary restrictions: They are open to modifications and can accommodate vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements. We loved the red achiote vegan rice.
Love this place! The food is fresh and delicious (lamb & duck were so tender) - Great for a group! - The staff excellent and incredibly accommodating, Cocktails and wine list were fantastic and wow! That view! One of my favourite spots in all of Sydney! See you again soon! Vegetarian options: So accomodating! Dietary restrictions: Allium & veggo
Had a lovely lunch. Great food, wine and atmosphere. Fabulous views too
Has lunch at The Butler yesterday, absolutely stunning spot, really nice decor with amazing views over the CBD. The food was excellent, very very good. The only reason the seduce was a 4 is because it was a little inattentive - not particularly friendly and had to ask for everything, from asking if we could order our mains to top ups of water. That said, the waitress who took over our table towards the end was fantastic! In the scheme of things not a biggie as the rest was outstanding, would absolutely recommend and will definitely go back.
This place never disappoints! Ive been a couple of times and the ambience and service is great. The seafood is FRESH....something hard to come by in restaurants these days, and the view of the worlds most beautiful city, speaks for itself. Highlights were the market fish tacos, the lamb shoulder and the P&T Spritz!
Do not go here with a group. Not only did they force us to order the completely overpriced set menu but they also charged us a large group surcharge of 9%. Food : 3/5
The service was good. The host was nice. Drinks were good (I feel it is hard to get drinks wrong) Nice venue and view was great. I can imagine the atmosphere would be great when it is busy (we went early and it was quite). The food was very average in terms of price. Waygu steak 250g at 89 was nothing to rave about. I have had better pieces of steak at cheaper restaurants. Lobster gnocchi was ok but again, nothing to rave about. I just felt the food was average for how much it was. If you arent a fan of red meat or seafood there isnt much else in options. Perhaps a chicken or (I know its basic) or veg options that isnt just a side? Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Atmosphere is really nice but the food is putrid and service was below average. A real shame
Pricey, but delicious food. Obnoxious French waiter. Would be 5 stars but for the Frog-eater.
Fantastic in every way. Food was delicious, staff were great, and the view and restaurant beautiful with a relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere. Ill be back!
We just stopped for oysters and prosecco but enjoyed every bit of it. Such a good vibe with the music and views, the temperature was just right (even though we were on the terrace in winter). The only thought is the lighting may be a little too low outside for those with limited low light vision, but inside was a bit brighter
We had a really great evening at The Butler. Location; food and service were all brilliant. Will definitely be a return customer.
Our family of five dined here, and unfortunately, we all ended up with food poisoning, which led to severe diarrhea and completely ruined our trip. The experience was awful, not only because of the subpar food but also due to the terrible service. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get our main courses, and the dishes were far from worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant.
Great vibe on the terrace. Food was perfect. Service was attentive. The slow cooked lamb was a highlight. Fish tacos do not disappoint. Surprisingly good value too!
Great place for a view
Fantastic service, wonderful atmosphere and amazing staff for our corporate dinner.
2nd time Ive been here and enjoyed it significantly more than the first time. Service was amazing - the two loveliest people served us. Cannot fault a single dish. And of course, the view is fantastic.
Perfect
Thank you very much for taking care of us. We had a great time celebrating our birthday with the team.
The whole experience was fantastic. Attentive warm and welcoming service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, dietary requirements handled without fuss, the food was exceptional and excellent value. Can t recommend highly enough. 10/10.
I booked a table of 9 for a family reunion and Im so so glad I booked here. The service and venue was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and our wait team were attentive yet not intrusive. The set menu $79 was exceptional value and everyone commented how beautiful the food was. Our 3 persons dietary requirements were handled with no fuss and any substitions were just as delicious. It was a perfect venue for our occasion and we could not have asked for anything better. I highly recommend The Butler. Dietary restrictions: I dont eat seafood and 2 of the seafood cousrses for me were substituted with delicious alternatives.
When we arrived to the stairs, the person who answered the phone said there is no other entrance when we said we had two strollers. We had walked over 40 minutes and can t make it up that flight with two strollers surely.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Get a table on the terrace and enjoy the Sydney view as you share delicious food with your compatriots!
Listen I love this place!! I still say all these years later that The Butlers in Potts Point is the best spot in Sydney!! It s a great vibe! My friends were visiting from London for the first time and even they say this is the best place they ve ever dined at! Food was 100!Drinks were 100! Staff were 100! Ambience was 100!
We traveled down on the train from Newcastle for a late long lunch with good friends at The Butler. The experience was well worth the effort. The long lunch food and drinks package is great value. The service was exceptional. Highly recommended. If you ve got time, call in for a pre lunch beverage at the Forrester s.
We went looking for somewhere with lovely city night views, this place was perfect. The food was excellent.
A true Sydney gem - The Butler has it all, great location, great staff and great food!! Had another great night there last night with an added bonus of seeing glimpses of vivid from our seats on the balcony. Thanks for a memorable evening, see you again soon!
Great service on a Saturday lunch
The views are awesome.. staff is very polite and friendly. Quality of food is very good.
My first time there, won t be my last. Food was delicious, really happy with so many tasty gluten free options. The service was excellent and friendly while remaining non intrusive. Thank you! Dietary restrictions: Lots of coeliac friendly gluten free options.
Beautiful place, great view, delicious food.
Dietary restrictions: Lobster gnocchi was really nice and there are lots of vegan/vegetarian options. We had the broccolini, carrots and rice and they were all delicious. Staff were very friendly! Recommended dishes Broccolini, Lobster Gnocchi
Very nice serving staff this evening (15/6/24) - friendly and engaging.
We ve been to the Butler a few times now - tve food s always great, the vibe s always great, and the service relaxed but excellent. We love it.
We had a lovely dinner here out on the terrace. Service when we arrived was fantastic but was a little sparse once seated. Great food - the oysters were very fresh, the duck carnitas were full of flavour and very tender. Fresh, large crispy tortilla chips and vibrant broccolini were great accompaniments. Beautifully toasted and empanadas filled with salty cheese. The food complemented the amazing view over the city. Good vibe - good space between tables and smaller groups on the terrace. Really enjoyed dining here Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetable based options, freshly made
On holiday from the UK, found this place by chance. It was an amazing find.
We were a group of twelve and were so well looked after. Everyone had a great time, we had the banquet menu for $79 and the food was delicious. It is such a cool place too, and we would all highly recommend eating here.
I celebrated my 40th birthday with my triplet sisters here- was fabulous! Amazing service, delicious food and stunning view! Thank you so much!
Stunning decor, view, food, and outstanding service from the lady we had today for my wifes birthday. No matter the weather, it is a stunning location. Really enjoyed every aspect and great service.
One of the fine Sydney gems tucked in the secretive yet very seductive spot of Potts Point. The atmosphere is perfect for a night out with your friends or an intimate eve with your partner. The service is excellent and the menu offers such indulging delicacies. Ask to be seated closer to the terrace edge for more wow effect when booking. Parking: Most of the street parking is 1P which is not enough to enjoy the full evening in this restaurant. Its best to opt for public transport.
Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food made for a delightful lunch! Empanadas in particular were a highlight!
Phenomenal food, exceptional service and a beautiful setting. What more could we ask for
Cocktails were very tasty, I had a negroni and a coconut espresso martini, service was great, staff is very friendly and the view from the terrace is amazing! Music was also great
Had a beautiful anniversary celebration last night! Since beginning to end the service was amazing, congratulations to the staff for being so nice and attentive with our request, we had a beautiful view of the city as we wanted and they made our night feel really special! Thank you
Overall it was nice but I won t rush back because for groups they force you to do a set menu. I m vegetarian and to be honest the food I got for $79 just wasn t worth it for the price. The food was nice but not special enough for $79 and the cauliflower tacos had hard-ish cauliflower in them. For the price I don t think that kind of issue is ok. For the $79 I think all I got was: corn chips with bean dip, 3 slices of zucchini, 1 cauliflower taco and red rice. The service was nice and the staff were very friendly. I can t fault them at all. I didn t like the cocktails. They also didn t seem to have much alcohol in them. I d prefer more basic white girl cocktails TBH like something super sweet way more suit than the options available. Also one of the cocktails has a giant square ice cube in it so the glass is 80% ice cube, 20% liquid. Need to see more vegetarian options added to the menu to return. Something with protein (vegetarians need protein in our meals just like meat eaters.) maybe something with lentils or a chickpea curry? The ceiling fans turned on were annoying. It s cold. Even though they move slow they are very big so move cold air around. Vegetarian options: They don t have many vegetarian options here. If you re vegetarian and your friends are going - still go there is enough to get by though. On the set menu they bought me out nacho chips with 3 dallops of bean dip.
The only thing better that the amazing food was the service! Your team made the entire afternoon fantastic. Thank you again! Craig
Amazing client lunch at The Butler today, staff were 10/10 (especially Kendall teaching me what goes into a few cocktails to make them special), the food was bloody awesome too. Loved it, will be back!!!
A truly special restaurant for a special occasion. The atmosphere was stunning, lots of greenery, and the city lights were beautiful even on a rainy night. We had the Butler Banquet and every dish was delicious. Our English waiter was great (although had he had a football team he followed, it would have made my husband s night!!) Highly recommended.
Hidden in Potts Point but such a gem of a restaurant with amazing staff, tequila, mezcal and extensive wine list not to mention an exquisite selection of tapas and main courses! Was in Sydney for 5 days and went to The Butler twice! Georgia and Max who served us were very friendly and extremely professional. ... and it has the best view of Sydney for a proper sundowner!
This restaurant has been on my bucket list for a few months, and I m glad we visited it for an early Sunday lunch. The venue was quiet at that time, so we got a nice table at The Terrace even without booking. Their service was great, the team explained the cocktails and dishes to us, served it fast and checked on us for feedback. The menu has good options, with nice dishes for sharing with groups as well. All fresh, and with a beautiful taste.
Great experience. Interesting menu, friendly, helpful, fun waiters. Amazing views of the city-even during heavy rain!
Really nice food and Service is fantastic
Scallops, king prawns and recommended wine absolutely fantastic. A little spicy dishes but not too hot. Personnel very friendly and helpful, no need to wait long for drinks or food. Will return one day for sure :) Food : 5/5
I cannot recommend The Butler highly enough. The food and the atmosphere was so enjoyable and the staff could not help us enough. It was a lovely experience
OMG good all around. Cool neighborhood w amazing view especially from outdoor patio. Service excellent. But most of all, every dish was sublime. Queso fundido. Scallops. Duck carnitas were some of the best duck Ive had. And if you like fish, the barramundi is a must.
Met up with family for a few drinks and some dinner, the food was divine the drinks were also delicious. Great location and a funky vibe. Waitress while she was lovely was very slow at serving, I would say she was a bit under the pump. But on the whole it was an enjoyable evening
Food was delicious, the view is outstanding and all staff were so friendly. Shout out to Pam. Reasonably priced for such a stunning location and high quality food and service.
The best city view that you can find in any restaurant. But parking is a bit difficult in this zone. Better go with public transport.
Beautiful venue, the lobster gnocchi was to DIE for and the service from Pam was next to none. We will be back. Thank you! Food
Oh my goodness. The food was amazing. The entree was light but with just enough flavour to tantalise the taste Hudson. The next was again beautiful and moreish Food : 5/5
Lovely place! Nice atmosphere, stunning food and fantastic service by pam, who was friendly, funny and efficient and make our visit perfect! Chocolate mousse cake was to die for!
Excellent location. Very good food and friendly, efficient service.
We love The Butler for celebrating a special ocassion. Everything on the menu is delicious. We love how they skillfully fuse Mexican and Asian influences using top quality ingredients. The staff are so attentive and the greenery framed view back to the city is very special.
Such a great venue, loved the menu and felt so welcomed by Pam, we will be returning for sure
Great service! Really nice location! Amazing waiters and bartenders. Loved the drinks
Beautiful interior and exterior and a good spot for a date night/drinks with the girls/or even solo. I ended up sharing a few plates and even the dessert was so delicious. However, the music playing was a bit too loud which made it hard to have conversation.
This place is such a vibe! Food and atmosphere are great! Service is friendly and fantastic. I would Definitely recommend going. Great find on a last minute dinner. Food
Shoutout to the octopus taco!
The oyster is too salty. Of all the oysters I had in Australia, it was the saltiest and disappointing. The tacos were very tasty, but the sea bass and eggplant were average - not as good as I remembered! The atmosphere is at its prettiest during the evening sunset, and the neighborhood below the stairs below the Butler store looks so unsafe that you need to be careful after sunset, so if possible, come to Kings Cross Station to visit!
Food was incredible and had the best server Pam!
Pam is great! Lovely dinner and beautiful atmosphere
Wow, what an amazing place. I came with my freind for dinner and honestly could fault the experience we had! I just wanted to say a big thank you to Pam, our server, who made us feel so welcome with her warm personality and attentiveness - she s a real asset to the team!
What a truly beautiful space and experience. From the moment you walked in and when you left it was wonderful. Staff were exceptional and the food was just amazing. Loved all the greenery and the feeling of peace as you dined. Would go again and would highly recommend.
Lovely place, and the staff are brill, but particularly Pam! She was super helpful and very informative, not to mention full of smiles! We will be back!
Such grat services with a smile from a lovely young lady called pam
A lovely way to end a birthday weekend. The food is delicious & innovative and the service is excellent. We had a table for 3 on The Terrace and the view of the city on Sunset was spectacular.
Highly recommend this place. The service was great. Large quantities of food if you order group banquet and they also give vegetarians a separate option. The empanadas were heavy with a lot of cheese and there could ve been a few more vegetarian options.
It was all great,
We had a gorgeous meal at The Butler over the weekend while staying in the area. I had the steak tacos to start and the lobster gnocchi for a main. Both dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were perfect - I was stuffed! Our waitress Pam recommended the toasted coconut espresso martini, which is hands down the best espresso martini I ve ever had. Pam s service was incredible throughout our visit, she was so attentive, approachable and had all the best reccs! Thank you Pam and The Butler, we will be back!
Cute looking place but food wasn t good in our opinion. Didn t have a good meal unfortunately :(
I had the most wonderful dinner with my family at The Butler. From the cocktails and wine list, to the special sashimi dish, wagyu steak and chocolate mousse, everything was exceptional. Shoutout to Tom, Dan and Jorja for being so lovely and making it a special evening!
The food was delicious. The wait staff were competent and friendly. The view was stunning!
Amazing views of the city and the restaurant is STUNNING and kept in immaculate condition! Our server was also incredible and went above and beyond serving us for lunch. Highly recommend and will be back!
Daniel was an absolutely fabulous host it made the evening more enjoyable
Great food, cocktails and service. Highly recommended.
There is only one vegetarian lunch option (rice plate) but it s delicious and substantial. It s a great place: vibe, music, service, view is phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely spot when walking around King Cross.
Went here on Sunday for lunch. Wonderful atmosphere. Had a few starters and the lamb main with 3 sides for 5 people. It was wonderful. Dessert was also very good. Definitely a place for a return visit.
Loved it... and the service is exceptional.
Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at The Butler to celebrate my wifes birthday, and it was truly a remarkable experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a captivating ambiance. The food was a rich of flavors that delighted our palates with every bite. Each dish was extremely tasty and the service was top notch and very attentive throughout our dinner! Not to mention the breathtaking Sydney view. As we enjoyed our meal, we were treated to a panoramic vista of the city skyline. It really added a magical touch to an already unforgettable dining experience! The Butler exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend it for any special occasion or simply for an indulgent night out!
This place is great and you have the view of the city. Authentic food from various latin american restaurants. A bit pricey, but good to treat yourself for a Sunday brunch. Pam was our server and she was wonderful!
Great Service. Great Food. Great Vibe. Just overall a great experience and would highly recommend it.
One of the best views in Sydney to enjoy delicious alfresco dining. Definitely worth visiting, and come hungry as youll want to try all the share plates. I would highly recommend booking on the terrace.
Great find tucked away in Potts Point Sydney. Food was delicious, and gluten free. Service was excellent; helpful and careful re: dietary issues. Great atmosphere on the terrace on a nice summer eve. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options throughout the menu
Very expensive restaurant. We saw $$ mark and then went there but it was $$$$ instead so we ordered small portions. The servers kept pushing us to order more... It was not a very pleasant experience.
I accidentally booked the wrong time for valentines, but Rita and her manager went above and beyond to fix my mistake and make sure my girlfriend and I would get an unforgettable experience. The menu was great too! Thank you Rita!
Incredible view. Incredible menu. Refined Latin American cuisine and fresh tortillas make this one of my top favourites any time I m in Sydney.
To the guys, be careful because if the person you are with is sitting in the alcove area and they are sitting under the greenery. You may genuinely become entranced. Great atmosphere, and vibes! Thank you!
Went here for celebration Valentines, I booked the table with upgraded dessert cake after. But unfortunately It hasn t came. We finished the meal and had been waiting for 15mins no ones come to serve, only they cleaned table. Then we decided to paid and letf. Be side that, the food was amazing, lovely hidden restaurant with city view.
Amazing venue, food was delicious and staff friendly. Would highly recommend Dietary restrictions: All gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Upmarket eatery/brasserie in Sydneys Potts Point with rooftop dining offering views back towards Sydneys downtown. Platter-style and/or banquet dining offers an excellent quality menu which is definitely on the more expensive side. Cocktail selection is also top notch. Unfortunately visited on one of Sydneys hottest days in 4 years and even the oversized ceiling fans and roller shades could not compensate for the afternoon sun and hot westerly breeze blowing straight through the dining area. Parking: Highly recommended against battling street parking in Potts Point and Kings Cross. Take the train to Kings Cross and walk 5 minutes to the Butler Kid-friendliness: Not really a child-friendly venue
Food and service is at the standard expected in this place. Wasn t blown away but nothing bad to say either. Overall a really enjoyable meal and great summery atmosphere. Would highly recommend the lobster gnocchi ! Only disappointing thing is you have to have a minimum of 4 people for the set menu which looked delicious and took all the thinking work out of quite an expansive menu. The couple next to us wanted the sharing set menu too so I m guessing it s quite a common request so it d be great if the 4 person minimum could be reviewed!
Birthday lunch. We all had the banquet. Plenty of food. Lamb was delicious.
Good place with an amazing vibe and service Food is delicious Food
Amazing view over Sydney, great food, drinks and attentive service. Perfect for a casual but elegant evening.
A delicious dinner with friends on a perfect sultry summer evening. Couldn t have picked a better spot
Best place in Pottspoint!
Superb south American cuisine in a relaxed setting with west facing views over Woolloomoolloo and Sydney CBD skyline. Incredible cocktails, excellent wine list and great service. Only minutes from Kings Cross Station. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Much the menu is plant based, making vegetarian options easy be to order. Dietary restrictions: Service staff can take dietary restrictions and pass to kitchen, suitable options are available
iconic cocktails in food and the atmospheres unmatched
I highly recommend the Butler! We got engaged and they took exceptional care of us, the food was amazing, the views second to none and the staff made sure we felt special and celebrated. It s a restaurant fit for special occasions and casual dining.
The ambience of this restaurant is absolutely incredible! Stunning views of the city that you get to enjoy while dining here. I must admit though, the food didnt quite live up to the flavorful expectations of the Latin inspired menu. All in all, its still a great spot to unwind and have some drinks with friends.
Lovely space; underwhelming cocktails - odious clientele
Great terrace location, friendly service and excellent food make this a lovely spot for a relaxed lunch. Thanks!
Great ambiance, dine in duck carnitas excellent food, friendly staff very helpful manager!! Can go back!!
The food was amazing & the service exceptional. They couldn t have been more accomodating to all our needs. I would highly recommend The Butler.
Top tier dining experience - beautiful food, amazing wait staff, and a lovely setting. A special shoutout to our waiter Daniel, great recommendations and a bit of lively chat was the cherry on top of a lovely dinner.
Sit outside. Interesting and nice place. Tacos are excellent as well as barramundi. Salmon small bite unimpressive
A beautiful venue tucked away in the leafy back streets of Potts Point. Stunning views of Sydney s skyline, comfortable terrace seating & some of the best shared plate food we ve had. Special shout out to Zac for his outstanding service & prompt delivery as we worked our way through the Cocktail list. Definitely planning a return.
Restaurant hiding down stairs, amazing food with lovely waiter.
Not often I ll be completely satisfied with a restaurants. Always there are issues! But Butler was an exception, we did not dine there had two glasses of wine and two appetisers. Both excellent liked the wine choices and the cooks fresh approach to food. I do recommend to all to visit this nice restaurant. View was a spectacular.
Lovely restaurant!
Lovely food & vibes + Daniel was a legend
They were fantastic , service was just wonderful! Daniel put up with my mums bad jokes and made sure the service was faultless.
Beautiful spot for a night out. Atmosphere was lovely. Shout out to our waiter Daniel who delivered excellent service
Lovely hidden gem in Potts Point! From the start there was an amazing atmosphere, the staff were lovely and great at recommending food and cocktails. We had a lovely table outside with a stunning view of the city skyline. Our cocktails were delicious and the food was delicious and loved every dish we had. Highly recommend the lobster gnocchi. Definitely would be returning.
Great venue for an afternoon drink looking across the city of Sydney. I especially like sitting on the balcony but inside has still got a lot of character.
Cosy place
Thanks Jill Food
Great place and friendly staff. Food is excellent. Dietary restrictions: Most dishes are gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Eating Mexican being Mexican myself is always an experience that can go both ways I was impressed with the beautiful flavours of the food in this place and how close it gets to the street food back in Mexico Not only that, service was great and the view was awesome Great place to visit
This place is always amazing. The service is on point with super friendly staff that know the menu and advise you well. The food is incredible. So tasty and served hot. The timing between courses is perfect and finished plates are cleared quickly. The cocktails are delicious and pretty. The atmosphere is not too crowded or noisy. We always sit on the terrace which is nice and leafy with a great view. Would highly recommend a visit to The Butler. You will not be disappointed
Had an absolutely delightful experience hosting our business partners on the Terrace at The Butler. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was exceptional. The service, the atmosphere, and the satisfaction of leaving full all amazing. A heartfelt thank you to The Butler for making our gathering truly special!
Great restaurant, great atmosphere, magnificent decoration, the dishes are very careful and delicious and our waitress Cynthia gave us very good advice with a smile.
Absolutely fab joint, especially on a sunny day overlooking the city and the botanical gardens. A real treat and special for a date or just for kicks! Dietary restrictions: Caters for GF.
We had such a great time! Food s very tasty, big shout out to the bar team, cocktails are excellent! Also awesome service from our waiter (even though he s from northern England lol) Highly recommended
The good; - the Regal Rhubarb and Pretty in Pisco cocktails were amazing. Give the bartender a payrise. The not so good; - we had to wait for some time to be greeted and seated as there was no one at the reception. - I specifically requested a table for two (was entertaining an important overseas guest) but was seated at a table for four despite two-seater tables were available. Our request to move to a smaller table was abruptly refused due to other bookings. - the service was poor and clumsy. The mains arrived before the starters were served. - other guests seated after us got their dishes in a timely manner where the wait for us was too long. When asked thr staff, we got the silent treatment. - the portion size of the gulf kingfish was disappointing, mere shavings of fish covered with cucumber. - the staff served us food we didnt order, apparently there was a mix up with another table. - biggest disappointment was the Lamb (which is why weve came to the Butler in the first place). It was such a small portion, dry and looked like leftovers from another serving. Considering other restaurants in the area (Apollo, Ezra etc), the quality of service and value for money was absent. This was my first visit to the Butler, and the experience was disappointing. I was embarrassed in front of my guest for bring him here. Will not come again. Thank you.
Timely delivery
Tacos were dry, service was confused, lobster queso was disgusteng To reply to the owner: the food was indeed disgusting and if you can t take criticism you re in the wrong line of business. My server could not even remember our order. I paid over $200 at your restaurant for a horrible experience.
Noisy like many restaurants in Sydney but the view of CBD by night and the products offered are great. High prices but for a nice evening it does it
We went for Christmas party and we had a amazing time . Ash was ver friendly and super nice . We were looked after and had a great time .
Amazing venue - spectacular view and most amazing gnocci you will eat
A very nice restaurant with beautiful views. Everything was delicious except the tacos that were a bit disappointing since the chicken and beef did not taste anything.
It has a diverse menu and is located in an alley, so you can enjoy a warm atmosphere when you come inside.
Shame it was not more busy but it was a Monday night. Food amazing great wines good times all round
I love The Butler. The staff are super friendly, the food is always delicious and the venue is amazing. We had the banquet for 6 people and could believe the variety and vakue. I look forward to my next visit!
My colleagues and I came in for lunch last week and the food was excellent and portion sizes were great value for money and perfect for the group. Thanks to our waiter too - Zak - who was fantastic, polite, gave good recommendations and made our experience despite the restaurant and staff being busy.
Great views and extensive cocktail menu. Lunch time menu is slightly limited but still an okay choice. Much recommended !! Food : 4/5
