Stopped for lunch on my last day in town and asked about gluten-free options. I was told the dry ribs were gluten-free. I explicitly stated that I am celiac, including that it’s a serious allergy. Sure enough, I got sick from them which made my drive home miserable.
Cute and unique little bistro. Staff were very kind and welcoming. They have the best carrot cake I've ever had.
Really am impressed with this little bistro. The food was delicious and came in huge portions. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The artwork was amazing. The space was very clean and comfortable.
I used to love coming here for lunch! Unfortunately my last experience here was awful and therefore I will not be returning or recommending to anyone anymore. We drove from Saskatoon to bring family here for lunch. All of our desserts were dry. The chicken quesadilla was dry as well and was just filled with onions and flavourless chicken. The beef dip that was ordered had to be sent back twice due to not being prepared the way we had requested (dairy intolerance). I didn’t realize a beef dip would come with cheese on it? When asking for no dairy second time, we were told to scrape it off. Super disappointed in the overall experience. 1/10 for service, 1/10 for environment and cleanliness and lastly 1/10 for the quality of the food we received for $84. We will not be returning. ☹️
Super good food and service!! So much unique food to chose from. My first time there and am so impressed for a small town! Prices were very reasonable too!
Great place to catch a bite for lunch and have some great conversations over coffee and dessert. Our group stopped in for lunch and tried different wraps, soups, quesadillas, and desserts. I had the crab dill wrap which had lots of tasty fresh vegetables! London fog was good too, and the star of the show was my blueberry cheesecake. The patio was absolutely lovely, shaded, and still full of nice plants and flowers. Will definitely return when in PA!
A burger fries and side of gravy, wrap fries and side of gravy for$45. Burger was slightly burnt, wrap had two slices of quite tough I chew roast beef. No drinks or dessert. Overpriced!
Other than the poor girl being the only server on with an almost full house, great place. Beautiful, clean atmosphere, great coffee and I had a cinnamon bun that would knock your socks off.
Service is awesome young lady is very pleasant and food is awesome. Definitely 5 stars
Best cafe in town, Excellent service Best quality of food Food
Best buffet in PA.
Nice easy going place with good coffee, tons of desserts & lots of different meal options.
can i find a job
Its good. They have good bread
Service was the best from all PA
Best place in town for cheesecake!
Quality of food has gone down hill, bought a few pastries to take home, and was SO disappointed The carrot cake was dry ( they use to have the best carrot cake) and the crunchy lemon square was rubbery and tasted like old fridge! Will not be back. Food
The food is good both in restaurant and for catering. Unfortunately, their owner is not great. They dont take criticism well, have anger issues, are incredibly queerphobic, and they are an open distributor of an infamous misinformation tabloid. Its not a very welcoming environment and the food isnt good enough to be worth it.
Ordered wraps and drinks for pick up by following their skip the dishes menu. Turns out the Black Forest latte does not in fact come with whipped cream like it says, and unfortunately tastes like cough syrup. Also, their bubble tea doesnt come with the boba pearls, nor do they ask if you d like any when ordering. But they will ask if you want it flavoured. Let me tell you, they do not let you know the flavour of watermelon is ADDED to the milk tea, not a separate flavour . Wraps were ok, but don t expect much hummus in the hummus wrap. Only redeeming quality really is their desserts.
Fantastic Sunday Brunch.
My 3 year old son and I got food poisoning from the chicken souvlaki here. It was mild food poisoning but still, I will never eat here again after the harm it causes my child.
Got the fish and chips... pretty sure it was highliner...
I was incredibly disappointed by the dillcrab wrap and the butter thin layer of crab that was put into it. The wrap was mostly lettuce. when I brought it to the attention of the waitor, another was made however it was no better. it looked like the insides were scraped from the original one into a new wrap. Its disappointing to spend $20 on a wrap that should come with the filling as described.
Love the coffee, love the food and love the place.
I ordered a medium dainty tray. I was told it would serve 35 people. That wasn t accurate which was disappointing since I paid $55 for it. When I opened the tray lid, all the squares were soggy. It was also poorly presented. While I really want to support businesses in town, I do wish that more thought and effort was put in from this establishment.
Great little place full of character, we hosted a quiz evening there for the department of health Saskatchewan and it went down brilliantly. Enjoyed by all great food and location
Amazing food
This was our second time eating here...first time was not good at all. That was in July of last year. We kept hearing that the food was so good from other people we knew. Thought wed give it another try for my birthday. Just ate there tonight and it was awful! I ordered perogies and my husband ordered butter chicken...$20 for each meal. And nearly $4 for a small Pepsi...and no menus. His was barely decent. Mine was unacceptable..my perogies came swimming in oil...half of them were still frozen on the inside. They were so tough you had to cut them with a knife. I told our waiter and he offered to remake them. I said no to that as this was my second bad meal there. My husband mentioned that he had brought me there for my birthday and thought maybe they would offer us a dessert on the house. But no...we were totally ignored and no one spoke to us again. We will never step foot in there again. Really too bad as we live a few blocks from there and would of loved to visit this establishment more often. I would not recommend dining there...save your money.
I love the ambiance the customer service of Shananigans. Mandeep , the serving staff is so friendly and cheerful. He is an asset to the place and makes it a pleasant experience for the clients. Way to go!! Keep it up
Good food & coffee.
Nice local restaurant with good home made food.
Excellent
Very good we just sat there and listened very full and but I love the way they have the place set up I bet I went on a slow day
Unique, local, which sometimes equates to more expensive, however everything was homemade. You cant beat homemade. Unique drinks and fresh and delicious desserts. Food
Bison burger 5 big stars London fog same thing. Wings could have been slightly better 4.5 stars Overall very pleasant atmosphere, not crazy busy. Plenty of open seating, friendly staff, and impressive deserts especially when the chef brings out a fresh lemon pie of giant size
Gorgeous artsy coffee shop, has a great selection, only wish they did gluten free choices! But very nice and friendly servers! Wheelchair accessibility: One level and wheelchair accessible
Delicious food, especially quesadilla.friendly staff, very calm place.we had a good time there.
Staff, food, service and atmosphere Always excellent. Absolutely no disappointments, if you have not been to Sunday brunch your missing out, get there early.
I love this place. I come almost daily when in town.
The food was okay (personally I prefer Dr. Javas in town) but the owner/waiter or whatever was very nosy, and this restaurant is overstuffed with uncomfortable chairs and seating arrangement.
Shananigans
Absolutely brilliant!!! Why do I always forget about this place!? Its got everything great service, fresh and decadent baking n the atmosphere is refreshing!
Owner does not know to talk to indians specially worst
Really nice great atmosphere
Had the Sunday buffet. Lots of choices, the chicken and the quiche were my favorite. My lunch partner said the pancakes were dried out, but everything else was good . Desserts were lovely and soooo good! Chocolate cheesecake, truffles, and fresh fruit. Service was excellent!!! :)
Best little place for great teas and drinks and amazing cheesecakes
The Sunday brunch it probably the best in town or close second and the Prime Rib on Friday is super deadly ....but expensive, but I still do HIGHLY RECOMMEND them but not cheap ... That being said very good place and good desserts and coffee, And FYI: unfortunately they check Vax passports there so youll have to deal with that and With that and the price it only get 3 stars for service But.......the coffee, baking and food get 5 stars So Ill give the place an all around 4 rating
True
We paid $80 on door dash for sour butter chicken and soggy Nan bread, 2 small London fog drinks, 1 regular toasted cold cut sandwich and 2 pastries, one of which wasnt even what I ordered, paid for a coconut pie and got some chocolate pie. First and last time I ever order with this extremely over priced place!!! If i could give this business NO STARS I would.
Honest to God, this place has the best coffee in town, if your a coffee drinker, then you need to check out the coffee at this place, honestly better then the other places you get coffee from. (Buy 2 coffees because youll probably end up sipping the whole cup in a minute)
Great coffee spot, they have many drink choices and lots of awesome sweets. I always have to get a oreo cookie sandwich every time I come.
I was there with friends on Friday 18th/22. Excellent food, excellent service, recommended.
Its nice. Cozy. Great food. Good service. Just dont order decaf.
Great place to visit! Dessert there are amazing and exclusive. You would not find them anywhere else, in town. Food is delicious and excellent service!
Okay so this place is the top of the cherry if you have a sweet tooth for cake and fudge. Ive drove by this place for many years and didnt really give it a chance until now. I regret not going here because they have the best chocolate layered cake and it is sooooo good. I recommend going here for cute dates with ur special someone. The vibe is good and the employees are kind and the whole place smells of sweets. They also have a menu for home cooked dinners which Ill come back give it a another shot with home cooked meals. All in all this place is great.
Go find this hidden spot...its worth it. Desserts, desserts, desserts..and a very diverse menu. My coffee was also delicious. Carmel nut latte..so good.
Had a catering for moms memorial was good awesome pastries
This place is definitely a hidden gem not to be missed! I was in the area for a couple of days and fancied something sweet. Was almost close to go Safeway but thought I d give Shananigan s a try. I m glad I did. Best chocolate eclair I ve ever had!
Good service
Excellent place for lunch and supper. (Probably breakfast too but Im not there early enough). Friendly staff, good portions
Best customer service They make sure you have water and coffe at all times. There is a variety of amazing food and drinks!
We had Shananigans cater our wedding this past weekend and they were amazing! They customized our menu with us, catered the rehearsal dinner, wedding supper and did the midnight lunch for us. They went above and beyond for us and I can t recommend them enough for all your catering needs! Or even just a stop in to their bistro for a yummy lunch!
Been going here for years. Great food and desserts.
Amazing food and great staff. Had the Greek ribs with a chocolate mud pie. Both were full of flavor. This will be on my list of top places to go in town!
Fun artsy atmosphere, food was incredible! Deserts were very tasty!
If I want atmosphere and a great meal, this is one of my favorite places to go in Prince Albert. Last time I had the 8 oz. New York and it was perfect. And Im not easy to please when it comes to my steak!
IMO the best breakfast in Prince Albert.
We are a long time customer of the catering arm of Shenanigans. Recently, we had an incident in which the owner came to our organization demanding payment for a catering charge that was not even for our organization (as we later found out). She was very rude to our Receptionist, made inappropriate comments referring to you people. We are an Indigenous Organization and we are disappointed in her conduct; I am however, pleased with how our Receptionist handled herself and so were the other health professionals that witnessed the ordeal. Our business will be going elsewhere.
Great place to come and visit with friends.
Excellent food and drinks. Great service. Highly recommend!
Amazing home made deserts. Definitely a diamond in the rough, will be back to try diner and definitely for the deserts
I used to come here quite a bit and it was really good. But lately im finding their deserts have been horrid. Last time i went i ordered an eclaire and it tasted like it had been in there quite a while. Today i ordered pie and carrot cake. The cake was dry. Not that great. But the pie was really the kicker. It was completely gone rotten. All the dairy in it had turned and it was inedible. I wouldnt recommend going here anymore.
I ordered the Bison burger with a tossed salad. Delicious. The desserts looked lovely, but I didnt try any.
Everything was so delicious and freshly made. Really hardworking staff
Amazing coffee and sandwiches! Highly recommend for a great bite!
Absolutely wonderful little gem of a restaurant. Everything was freshly cooked, homemade and very delicious. We split one of their authentic Italian pizzas and the crust was top notch. If I could rate them on Dave Portnoys One-Bite app the pizza would be a solid 8.3 Perogies and sausage were home made and great Butter chicken rice and salad great Definitely recommend over stopping at one of the franchise places in PA if wanting something fresh and delicious
Jeanette and her team did an amazing job for my mothers funeral.. I thank you Jen & your staff for that. Tim Mulhall
Great food/coffee and very friendly staff! Love seeing art around from local artists.
Dinning experience was excellent we were more than satisfied and the food and presentation was top notch. Thank you so much
A different experience. Shenanigans definitely has an edge over others. They made my food fast and it was awesome , its color to home so Ill be going back for sure. I highly recommend this place for a quick meal.
I love this place. Their carrot cake is
You cant beat Shananigans!
Really detailed drink menu. Interesting food menu, not a fan of the butter chicken but thats ok this is a place holder to remind me to try the other stuff before making a final verdict.
Due to covid I did not eat in but the place looked nice and cozy. I got the bison burger and a carrot cake, my friend got wings and a brownie. The burger was huge, juicy, and fresh - worth every penny! My friends wings were also fresh and crispy (she had them plain with just salt and pepper). If Im ever in the area again, I would definitely try this place again!
It felt like I was entering a small art museum. Many peoples creative works are on display. It was nice to admire the work before the food came out. The soup was a bit salty, so that was a bit of a drawback. It would be better if it was slightly less salty. Its a great place to enjoy with friends.
Always excellent food and service.
Great place to eat! Great friendly staff!
Its a gem in PA
We didnt go there
Great atmosphere
A very good selection of delicious desserts. Perfect service and very pleasant experience.
Gotta love their Sunday brunch all you can eat.
Excellent food, service and hospitality
The Prime Rib is excellent!! The best chocolate cream pie ever and you HAVE to try their Flapper pie.... incredible!
We got the sweet and sour on special and a butter chicken poutine. The flavour was great for both meals. The meat in the sweet and sour could have been more tender, and imo its not a poutine if there are no cheese curds but thats just semantics. The baking and desserts are great and my personal favourite is the wedgie.
Ive had breakfast here multiple times because friends always want to go to Shenanigans to feel fancy. The pancakes I got were tough and bland both times Ive had them, and I paid extra since it wasnt breakfast, so not sure what the excuse is. I ordered French toast, paid an extra $3.50 for STRAWBERRIES and whipped cream, I was served 1 single strawberry, cut in half with a dollop of whipped cream. The bacon I ordered was inedible, I couldnt bite through it. I informed the lady at the counter and all she offered me was an apology, no replacement bacon or protein, no voucher for next time, only I am so sorry maam a few times. The owner was there on the French toast day, she was dressed up in Chef whites in the kitchen. She really let my plate out of that kitchen with rock hard bacon and a pitiful amount of strawberries? I expect way better for the prices that you are asking of us. Fatburger even does breakfast (better than you guys) for a fraction of the price.
A good place for a casual coffee with friends. A good selection of fresh desserts.
Just ordered from here and the food was first class. The Salad starter was so very fresh, the Chicken pot pie was simply superb and the cheesecake dessert was the best cheesecake Ive ever had. A very easy 5 star review and a place Im looking forward to eating from again.
Friendly staff good food
You must try their home style cooked food.
Great food. Little pricey.
Delightful coffee and a quiet chat..
Many desert options and beverage choices. Meals are available as well and can be ordered for delivery. Weekend brunch! Pros: Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth. Healthy menu choices. Cons: Parking is very limited. No drive-thru.
Very nice atmosphere, would be nice to see some softer more updated chairs/couches for lounging. Sunday brunch is Amazing!
Cool little spot, nice staff and great food.
Great food lots of variety
Great food and service!
Amazing food! Every time I go the service is great and the ambiance is perfect
A little busy around noon, but staff was helpful. Seems very clean.
Food was great but they need more room
Had a Root beer float was a delicious iced coffee with cream soda mmmm and their oreo cheesecake was good. They have tons on the menu and will be back to try more!
Awesome atmosphere, supports local artists and very nice employees. food is served in huge proportions. Anytime I am back in Prince Albert I go here to get the dill and crab wrap! I cant ever seem to find a place anywhere else that makes the unique foods that they offer here.
Puchased takeout over the phone from the bistro. Absolutely wonderful, quick service and the owner of the establishment is so nice! Their iced drinks are delicious. 10/10 will be coming back here.
Love the food and the staff. Amazing place.
Wonderful little place with amazing food! The staff are super friendly and sweet! The desserts are to die for! Definitely one of the best places to eat in PA
Very nice atmosphere. Food was awsome, had a homemade feel to it.
Awesome food and deserts 10/10
It was very expensive $21 dollars for a 1 scoop ice cream cone, a piece of cheesecake and a container of treats
Very good service, delicious food
Friendly service Delicious food , what else can I say.
I tried fish and chips today and I think it was one of the best I ever had.
Food is too salty, no taste. Good for artist, support local artists! Nice art. Offers international coffee, red eye is good, ask for Ethiopian or Guatemalan coffee beans, they might have others, ask at the counter, hard ice cream. Had prime rib sandwich at lunchtime it was tough it didnt look fresh, tomatoe basil soup was missing something. The menu is rather crowded (hard to decipher). Try to get there before the crowd, it takes a longtime to get food. Becareful of washroom there is a steep incline especially for elderly and disabilities, there is no handrail to hold onto when climbing the steps.
A pleasant surprise. Great food and the gluten free treats were delicious.
Very quaint and cozy place to sit and visit. Large selection of beverages, food and baking.
Hashbrowns were greasy eggs were runny service was not good was very disappointed
Buffet was fantastic! Well worth the price!
Good
Food was alright but the desserts are simply amazing.
Great cheese cake! Cool atmosphere! Wide variety of sweet treats to enjoy! It s a fun place to catch up with friends and relax.
Great food. Excellent service.
Open late enough to go for coffee and dessert in the evenings. Fresh baked goods to suit every taste. The coffee is good, the atmosphere is excellent, and they have arts and crafts from local artists for sale throughout the café.
Love it
Great place. Have been there for every meal time and have not yet been even slightly dissapointed.
There was a time I loved this place, but not anymore. Service is awful, drinks usually arrive when your meal is finished. Staff are obviously stressed with the workload and it shows in how they treat customers.
I was expecting more from the deserts. They were dried up and tasted like fridge, as if they had been in there too long. The staff were nice enough to switch out our lemon bars for a different bar, but the second one we got tasted the same. The deserts used to be so much better !
Nice menu variety. Very good food and portion sizes. Excellent desserts. Friendly staff.
Nice place to meet with friends. Meals are unique. Great desserts! Friendly service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great food!
Best Banana Cream Pie
Had a coffee and a sweet. Both were very good. Nice atmosphere and good service
Good food and drink. Friendly atmosphere.
Great food lots of it and quick awesome service
Quite nice, a Prince Albert gem. Lots of interesting and pretty art. Nice cozy spots, some good spots to laptop if thats your thing. Free wifi. The menu board is pretty tough to read but the wraps are good. I also often go for the early bird breakfast, not a bad price but doesnt come with coffee. Prices are on par with what you would expect, fair for what you get.
I have always enjoyed this coffee shop when I come to Prince Albert. But this time I found the service has gone down. I love a good cappuccino. There is a difference between this and a latte. I asked for a cappuccino and received a latte. I politely asked the girl about having a cappuccino and not a latte, and if she knew the difference to which she replied yes. She remade my drink, BUT I ended up with latte again. Perhaps this is a good time for management to ensure staff are properly trained. As I said already I have always enjoyed this place and hopefully with some training this will incident wont happen again. Food is always good!
Very good food and atmosphere
Good quality
Its okay. We had Sunday brunch, they offer a buffet or order off the menu. This was a very confusing situation for the servers. One of our group never received his food, anyone who ordered off the menu had food come a very different time. The two who had the buffet were satisfied.
Great atmosphere!
Soup was great and desserts looked amazing
Really nice place
The server was excellent, the hashbrowns were over cooked and although the sesame seed muffin tasted great it didnt come with the hummus requested.
Great place to eat! Probably my favourite coffee shop in Prince Albert :) I do wish they had more vegetarian options, but I understand that menus sometimes need to be limited. Their baking is wonderful and they have a HUGE selection of cheesecake (if youre into that sort of thing). I would suggest hitting this place up if youre in the neighbourhood.
Shannigans Bistro has been a favorite for years. They have a wide variety of specialty coffees, teas, pastries & also have a delicious meal menu. I like the atmosphere as its sort of a funky artsy kind of bistro that displays local art. Its fun!!
