275 County Rd 7, Prince Edward, ON K0K 2T0, Canada
Open 7 days a week. May thru October
September 2024 I love coming here. A great menu if you love charcuterie boards with local and Ontario products served for food and drinks. A lovely patio with a spectacular view. We stop here for lunch every time we are on our way to Prince Edward County.
I’ve been here a few times now, it doesn’t disappoint. The meat and cheese platters are nice, along with lake on the mountain pints & the view is amazing
This was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything we had was delicious. We had the traditional flambee as well as the brewmasters favorite. They were both excellent. The cookies were good, and the beers were great as well. Can't beat the views or the service. Will go again.
Charming restaurant perched on hill, just outside of Picton, Prince Edward County, overlooking a channel on Lake Ontario. We watched the Glenora Ferries crossing back and forth to the Adolphustown dock as we ate outdoors on their patio. Excellent service, atmosphere, and luckily the weather, was pleasant, and the food was superb!
Definitely a beautiful location, amazing view on the patio. Service was ok, if a little slow. The food is expensive, understandable since you are paying for the location, but I just didn't find it very good.
Amazing patio with a great view. We waited for a front row seat and it was well worth it. Food was great and drinks were good too. Great place to just chill and watch the sunset.
Can I increase the stars to 10 for the atmosphere. Gorgeous view. We lingered longer than usual, because we didn't want to leave. What a surprise on a hot sunny day. The breeze. The shade, gently cast by red umbrellas. The friendly service. The delicious food. The menu focuses on wonderful nibbles and share-ables. We had the whitefish spread and a cheesy creamy flambé flatbread.
I gave the food 3 stars because of the limited food selection. I ordered Hummus with bread and my husband had their Patè Maison (Chicken Liver Mousse). The hummus was okay. But the real reason we went here was for their patio with an overlookinh view. It was indeed stunning! I just hope they have more food choices.
One of our favourite spots in the county. We recommend it to ervyone.
Excellent service, drinks and charcuterie. Amazing view!!
everyone is going there for the view. Food, drinks and coffee are decent.
Baffling customer service. The view is exceptional. Gorgeous views. The food was not great. Bland and a lot of bread and very bland. Overpriced . Felt like it came from a jar. We walked in and the service was foggy arrogance. She was foggy but demeaning at the same time. Gave you an answer that made no sense. Wont be coming back here. Restaurant was empty and they were rigid about where they sat you. Ps. Didnt feel like a restaurant. Felt like a university dorm cafe.
You re paying for the beautiful views, not the food or the service.
Incredible view. Hot tip....ask about the bacon marmalade.
Great view, Great service, nice local beer, lil on the expensive side.
What an amazing view!!! Great service and food. The flat bread is so delicious. Gave me Paris vibes but with better views.
Outstanding view!
Great view! Nice stop for a drink
Absolutely love the view from their patio! Great beer selection
Good place to visite
First time there and it was a beautiful spot with great views! The flatbread was delicious.
What an enchanting setting to taste delicious local products!
Went there for the food and was disappointed. They are priced higher than other restaurants around there. The view is beautiful and the service was good too.
The terrasse has a nice view. The restaurant has numerous artifacts like a cedar canoe and snow shoes. I ordered a tarte flambée named Forestière. A flamenkuch with slices of ham and pieces of mushrooms. The way to serve to such a delicacy is such that the white cheese is piping hot, you can check in Google. Mine was at room temperature and the mushrooms on where raw in my opinion without much flavor. However the coffee and the carrot cake were excellent.
One of these spots you can be happy if you find it
The waitress was very rude and unfriendly.
If youre looking for a different type of meal this is the place. Think charcuterie. No sandwiches. Great outdoor patio with a view.
Beautiful location!! The patio has a spectacular view. Service was great and the food was perfect for lunch and for sharing!
Probably the nicest patio in the County. Limited menu - it isn t really a place for dinner - but the quality is good. Service was more than acceptable. The folks that whine about the menu clearly didn t do their homework.
View was amazing and food choices as well although we got warm beer on a very hot day.Good customer service as well. I was dissapointed that patio is not pet friendly but customers who put their feet on the table are more than welcome!!! Food
Good simple but effective cuisine, impeccable service and wonderful atmosphere bordered by two lakes!
Sitting on the patio at the Miller House. Sharing appetizer plates and enjoying Prince Edward County wine. Watching the Glenora Ferry make its crossing and taking in the vista as the sun slowly sets behind you. I would recommend.
Good food and great views. Nice little spot to enjoy the view and have a snack. Unfortunately, we went for lunch, but the portions were very small for the price. Nevertheless, the service was good and the food tasted good, even if it wasnt very filling.
Celebrating a milestone like a 25th anniversary warrants a memorable dining experience, yet our recent visit to Millers cafe was overshadowed by disappointing service from our server, Mollie. Despite the restaurants reputation for its stunning views, Mollie adamantly refused our request to change tables for a better vantage point, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. This rigidity was especially disheartening on such a special occasion. Mollies explanation about reservations and logistical constraints did little to alleviate our disappointment, leaving us feeling unheard and undervalued as patrons celebrating a significant anniversary. While the food and general ambiance at the cafe were enjoyable, the inability to enjoy the promised view tarnished what should have been a highlight of our celebration. The lack of flexibility and empathy from Mollie, particularly on an occasion as meaningful as a 25th anniversary, was deeply disappointing. In conclusion, while the restaurant offers a promising dining experience, the service we received from Mollie did not meet the standards expected, especially for an anniversary celebration. We hope that in the future, the restaurant can ensure that all guests, particularly those celebrating milestones, are treated with the care and consideration they deserve.
Beautiful place with a beautiful view! Staff was really kind! Love that place!
Great service from Payton!!! Parking: Easy to park
Food and service was great. Wait time was long and then some items that we were looking for were out but that confirms this is a popular place amongst visitors to Lake on the mountain. View was excellent. Vegetarian options: A great variety of vegetarian options. Not a lot for vegans as they said but a vegetarian will have a lot to choose which makes it an excellent place
Bad service and zero logic. I came here with a party of 4 and sat down, ordered drinks and food. The sun was very powerful and it was extremely hot being middle of July in Ontario. I noticed the umbrella had an angle feature so I adjusted it on an angle to protect my party from sun. Waitress came out and said its not allowed as its a safety issue. Safety issue angling an umbrella with angle adjuster? Lol ok. Bad service and you guys made yourself look like clowns.
We stumbled upon this gem completely randomly and were thrilled that we did. The lake view on the two sides is beautiful and very peaceful. Free parking is available across the street. The staff was incredible and very friendly. We are going to be looking into booking their cottages next year. Parking: Across the street with an amazing lake view.
Amazing view and great food. The craft beer is also very good. Portions are not enormous which was good for us since we were not extremely hungry, but they might not be enough for others.
Nice place with great views and delicious food. Staff was friendly, service is bit slow as it was quite busy when we visited. Food
Not a fan of the food. Very limited wine choices. Parking: Parking on highway shoulder, but must exit onto highway as there is absolutely no room. Food : 1/5 |
Beautiful little restaurant for an aperitif with a beautiful view and beautiful sunsets. Excellent food and good portions for snacks .
The perfect patio with an amazing view. Was fortunate enough to snag a seat at the edge for the best view. Lovely selection of local beers and refreshing non-alcoholic beverages. Really enjoyed the brewmaster s favourites. Great selection of sausages. The mustard was very sharp in flavour but still enjoyable. This place is a must visit if your adventuring in PEC
The view from the patio is glorious, especially later in the day. We enjoyed drinks and shared a flammekuchen forestiere and a piece of carrot cake. All were delicious! Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, a delightful experience wed happily repeat.
We shared a charcuterie plate and an order of flatbread, both were fantastic. The view from the outside tables we amazing. Definitely worth the drive to Lake on the Mountain
The Miller House is one of the Counties best places to go have a beer or glass of vino. Awesome spot to share some platters with friends. Overlooks Lake Ontario- Food is fantastic and unique as they serve their own homemade sausages, local preserves and mustards to go with fresh bread.
The greatest view in the county! Wish they had more on their menu. Highly recommend going on a weekday to avoid lines and crowds.
This is my favourite spot and we always choose to celebrate my birthday and anniversary here. The food is fabulous, the service is great....but that view is mesmerizing. Absolutely recommend! 10/10
Delicious food, great service, lovely views.
Great service, nice selection of local beers. The view is worth a stop.
First of all, this is not a restaurant. Its a café that sells simple food to go with drinks, but the food is terrible. If the prices were normal, I might let it slide, but the food is too expensive. We paid a total of $65 + 18% tip for 2 food items + 1 beer + 1 tea as shown in the photo. Its not even cooking, just cutting up a baguette... A few pieces of baguette, some pickles, and a little canned meat cost over $20. On top of that, the tip starts at a minimum of 18%. Why? I think its for the view. The problem wasnt the servers; it was the terrible food. The owner should not waste this location and must improve the value of the café immediately. Why doesnt this place change even though they only operate in the summer and dont update the menu in the winter? If there is anything changing, it might just be the increasing prices and tip percentages...
Gorgeous location. Stopped for a charcuterie plate and a few drinks with the family. Great place to relax and enjoy the view.
The view is beautiful on the patio, but the food was ok, too much carbs in the menu, the selection of a balanced meal is very limited.
Beautiful spot. Great food!
Great restaurant with stunning views. There were 4 of us French and everyone loved the meal. Go there with your eyes closed!
Cute little cafe with a view, as someone mentioned it s mostly snacks so it s a great place to graze and enjoy the view. Got a small sharing plate which was delicious. Will definitely return
Beautiful views
The food was good overall, but I believe the host was kind of racist in her approach when seating us. We were number 4 in the line up when the cafe opened. We would have loved the table on the corner which was available but she seated us right in the end and told us she can t combine table or move chair for 5. Minutes later, we saw locals in a group of 5 seated on the same table. Again, food is good but the hospitality experience was pathetic
The food was delicious and the views are unreal. So happy we found this spot. Very friendly as well.
A slightly different menu with charcuterie, and an amazing view. Would highly recommend.
Cool view, good food to pick at
Really nice, love the atmosphere and the food was excellent.
Beautiful memorable
Exquisite view 200 feet above the Bay of Quinte with exceptional charcuterie & other delights (fresh baked baguettes, local whitefish dip, chocolate almond gf torte & the county s wines) with down to earth friendly service from this family owned cafe.
What a view! And at night, ouhlala. Service and food is wow. Just go, you ll see for yourself Food : 5/5
Beautiful location, nice people and delicious bread.
Wait time to get a table was around 20 minutes, but SO WORTH IT, not only for the amazing view, but for the exquisite food! Service was good, but the real strong point was definitely the quality and taste of the food. Although its on the expensive side for a somewhat smaller quantity of food, I would 100% recommend you try it out!
Beautiful view, great food
Beautiful place to grab drinks and snacks. Unfortunately not baby friendly (I read previously about this, so I can confirm) so we brought our own high chair and it was all okay :) We went during lunch, got crowded fast. Seating is first come first serve, and you can t switch tables once you are seated. Overall great experience, would love to return with my husband for a date night :)
Wonderful food, we had platters which were tasty and plentiful. Extra bread offered. Fantastic outlook. Worth waiting for a table at the front overlooking the magnificent view
Enjoyed the view, ambiance, charcuterie and wine. Worth a visit to soak up the lovely views. Thanks for being an excellent hostess Allie.
Beautiful place, amazing fews, spectacular service, amazing food and awesome beers. What else can you want.
Very friendly waitress and superb view of the ferry boat below Very pleasant to have a coffee while enjoying a pastry
Great views, food was ok and Service is very slow.
Great view, Great food , Great staff
Beautiful setting and friendly service. Food is average but it was great to eat on the patio.
Fantastic charcuterie and the chicken liver mousse was amazing.
Great beer and view
Good food and view is great. Wine was terrible and has gone bad and they still charged for it. Not a big deal but just a common courtesy for a restaurant like this.
Perfect place, perfect lunch
Beautiful place to grab a small bite to eat. Service is good, some of the food is locally sourced and is high quality. A little pricey, but definitely worth going when the weather is sunny.
Exceptional view, delicious food, and a spectacular view. A wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
This is a delightful hidden gem with exquisite country French favourites and stunning Lake on the Mountain views.
Just perfect!
Great place, I liked everything, just the portions are not big. The atmosphere near the lake is super
You go to the restaurant for the view. It was absolutely fabulous!!! Menu is selective and service is not overly attentive. Surprisingly for a local restaurant, they offer a very limited selection of PEC wines. Food : 4/5
The views are incredible ! Service was good, the food is great. We enjoyed our dinner on the patio. Food choices are limited so read the menu before we go. We enjoyed everything we tried. Food
Gorgeous view. Menu is bread heavy and tourist priced with very little cooking involved, but the food is perfectly fine.
The view, the drinks, the food and the service were all excellent!
Lovely little restaurant, not too touristy. The food is very good but the true selling point is the view!
Gorgeous views. Plenty of tables available on a late Tuesday evening. Had great service and enjoyed a lovely glass of Pecorino.
Beautiful Spot. However terrible food and lacklustre service! Raw bacon flatbread and cheese rinds, yes cheese rinds served on the $23 cheese plate. When we tried to block out the sun by tilting our umbrella, we were told we were not aloud to do so without any explanation. Parking: Right nextdoor
Great views, and impressed by the food and charcuterie boards. Fun times!
I only gave the kitchen 3 stars because I only took the trays with the beers. But every product was delicious. The beer is great and the view is really what sets the place apart.
The view is stunning here. We both ordered the Gratinee and it was delicious. So glad we stopped here.
First of all : MAGGIE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST Such a great family and staff running this please 11/10 recommend. That being said, its a beautiful space: Outdoor back patio with beautiful views of the water Lovely charcuterie and flatbread board
Nice view nice service. The snacks are whatever
Best food, best beer, best view, the staff is fabulous!
Best place in the area for lunch. View is incredible, staff was amazing and the food was perfect for sharing. The patio vibe is perfect to relax and unwind.
A must visit in the county! Amazing view.
Great place to relax and spend an afternoon
We loved the view, the food... have among other things the crème brulée cheese cake
Lovely place nestled beside Lake on the Mountain
Take the plate local, and the Montréal plate with the bino rosé,that was à blaste... Merci. Food
Stunning panoramic view perfect for a tasty snack or meal with a nice wine list. Coming back when the leaves turn!
Excellent food with a good value for price and unparalleled views
Small plates to share. Had the local platter, like it. View was amazing. We would go back.
Party of 6 went for lunch. Beautiful patio and views. Great service from Maggie. Small menu and a bit pricey, but great for sharing. Beer was good. I was turned off by the manager clearing our table and rushing us to move on when we were not finished our beverage.
This café has a gorgeous view over Lake on the Mountain, and the vibe is good inside with the warm wood fire. However, the food was just fine, I would give it 3 stars without the superb view. The Forestiere Flambées toppings (onion, bacon, and cremini mushrooms) were far from how flavourful they should be, and the texture is not very ideal as well. The coffee we had was not that great either. But even with that, this place is still worth a try if you are visiting PEC.
Wonderful spot to catch the afternoon sun on a cool fall day Great views and tasty food
Great location to Slawe the best scenery at any time of season, and very unique country side interior inspires visitors and quite decent food selection available. The people who works here also very friendly and welcoming all visitors
Great place for drinks and platters by the waterfront.
If youre taking the Glenora ferry westbound (or before you get on the ferry eastbound), dont miss this place! Just 2 minutes off the ferry, up to Lake on the Mountain is where youll find this hidden gem. We stopped in on a whim on a beautiful sunny day for a quick bite and bevvy and were pleasantly surprised with what we found. An amazing patio with FANTASTIC views of the lake. We were welcomed and seated quickly and all the staff seemed happy to be there. The food and beverage menu had a great variety to choose from and everything we had was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and even helped us with a few restaurant recommendations in Picton and Wellington. Sorry I didnt get her name :0( but shes been working there since it opened and shes definitely a keeper! Highly recommend stopping in here if youre passing through... or as a fun destination!!
Very nice experience!! The food was very good, the view magnificent, the service efficient and friendly! It s a great end to a day of hiking.
Stopped in for coffee, people are lovely but bathrooms were awful.
The Miller House is a fantastic restaurant. Come for the food, stay for the view. And what an amazing view it is. Their drink menu is limited but dont be afraid to ask for something off menu. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They know their stuff and do their jobs very well. 10 out of 10 all around. Would definitely recommend and will even make the 3 hour drive again just to eat here.
Great service and food, sat out on patio where the view is beautiful.
We go there mainly for the view from the patio, but the food and drinks are an awesome bonus. Get some of the Bacon Jam to bring back home if they have it. Thank me later!
The place invites you to eat something - actually. However, after we were seated and given our menus, we were completely ignored for 15 minutes while the other tables were continuously served. I cant say anything about the food because we left then.
Would be a 5 star place except the hosts / server were kind of rude and not accommodating. Unfortunate because its a beautiful view!
Horrible service - the Manager should learn about proper customer service - he is rude and unprofessional something the owner should take seriously - will be reporting this to the BBB.
Service was great and the view was breathtaking. The food choices while not the usual fare for me, were excellent combinations of baguette, cheese, salamis and hams with different accompaniments including bacon marmalade, grilled tomatoes and olives. Food arrived quickly and was devoured just as fast. When we left, there was an extensive lineup of waiting customers.
The best view in town , we really enjoyed it, Great for a date out :). Delicious food and stuff were friendly.
Wonderful food and view, enjoyed my visit. A must go visiting PEC
Loved the location and views. A broader menu would be nice but food was great !
We stopped off for afternoon drink and bite to eat. Amazing views with great service. Tried the Lake on the Mountain blonde beer and was great way to cool off on a hot and sunny day.
Great place Amazing view
Wonderful, gracious and accommodating!
Molly D with the pigtails was exceptional, prompt, and a wonderful server. She even accommodated our friend with a medical condition to ensure we had an amazing brunch. I highly recommend the asparagus pesto tartine (open-face sandwich).
Great view, nice appetizer boards to nibble on and good local beverages.
The food is always amazing here! The charcuterie boards are on point! I wish I could eat the bacon jam all day!!
Incredible view, good service and their charcuterie boards are delicious!
Awesome! Great view of the bay.
My wife and I take a trip from Toronto every year to PEC and we always make a point to visit this place. The food is delicious and high quality ingredients are put into every platter. Our favourite is the chicken liver mousse and buratta. We try different meet boards and they always hit the spot. My wife and I aren t typically big eaters so for us we share lots of small plates and we end up being pretty full. This is a place for quality vs quantity. Ps the stock and row cold tea cider is a must have! Thank you and see you next year.
Beautiful restaurant with a superb view
Great views and service but food is mediocre.
Parking: It was ample
Good food, beer and great view
Wasnt sure what was ordered but it certainly was different but man was it good. Yummy!!
Very disappointed with the service. No empathy Long wait time Requested for table change. ( multiple tables were empty) but the Requested table was given to new customers without even considering us. I understand there are policies with resturants. it wasnt just the action , it was the way that action was done which ruined my lunch for me.
Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly
A wonderful experience. Knowledgeable pleasant staff. Awesome views. The food was great.
Very nice view of Lake Ontario. Wine was delicious.
We enjoyed a charcuterie platter to share. I would have appreciated it being a little more comprehensive for the price. On the other hand, the view from the terrace is absolutely breathtaking! The service was smiling and friendly!
One of the best Sunset spots in the County! Overlooking the Glenora ferry and Picton bay. Grab a drink and some bites to eat and watch the magic happen. The carrot cake is to die for ! The staff are wonderful, quick service and a friendly smile. Great place for a pit stop while exploring the county or ending the day of adventure. Limited seating so be prepared to wait for a table at peak times .
Very nice restraunt
Just, wow. If you visit this part of the Province you must stop here. Very very reasonably priced delicious food - we ate it so fast we didn t even stop for photos. And the view!! You don t see places like this in most of the country, never mind in Ontario! Go, now!
Place infested with bees in August. We went there with our young son and we had to leave before the meal because dozens of bees were circling around us. Other tables also left before the end of the meal. No changing table.
What a beautiful patio! Nice spot for some drinks and a snack while enjoying the beautiful view.
They had me at hello. Fabulous view, amazing service and food is beyond expectations! Try the asparagus pesto it was amazing! If you are in the area I highly recommend.
Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing scenery
We had great hope and hype for trying this restaurant..The location wise it was great .. but we had more than 1.5 hour wait time which is also we are Ok with it .. but the food was not that much great for the price it cost .. the smoked white fish was good .. other than that other foods were not that super good ..
Friendly staff, small but good looking menu, prices are reasonable, and the view is amazing. Worth the trip on a sunny day.
Lovely views and delicious brunch... Courteous staff made special vegetarian dishes...
Beautiful view and great food
The view is amazing. Local beers. Only serve cold platters.
Fantastic view and delicious food however the service was unexplainably slow there were two servers and 3 empty tables yet we waited for ~15 minutes to be seated and then we re not waited upon for ~20 minutes. It was a hot day and no water was brought to our table so we eventually went inside and asked for water. A beautiful spot but some service improvements would enhance the experience and ensure returns.
Elite beer selection. We love lake on the mountain brewery. Scenery at Miller house is amazing
The place is simply magnificent and the food is very good!
I was in PEC on business and decided to visit Lake on the Mountain while I was waiting to check in to my hotel. The Miller House Cafe seemed like a great place to stop for a light lunch that offered an opportunity to sample some local food and wines. I was lucky enough to snag a table at the back of the patio, overlooking the Bay where I was able to enjoy the scenic views and the ferry crossing throughout my lunch. That said, you can enjoy the view from anywhere on the patio and it is absolutely stunning on a sunny day. I ordered the Flambee Maison and two local wines plus the almond chocolate torte. I really enjoyed the flatbread and thought it was a great light option to tie me over until dinner! The wines were both wonderful (Sparkling & Chardonnay) and the dessert really hit the spot! There were a few wasps around while I was visiting which seemed to bother a few people, but the staff were working very hard to keep them away. My waitress was very friendly and was helpful with menu suggestions. I would absolutely return to this cafe just based on the view alone!
A bit pricy, but I guess it is a surcharge for the great view.
Best view in PEC and service and food was wonderful.
Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Street level access
The food was excellent. A really good selection, well presented and perfectly done. Service was terrific as well. Parking: Plenty of parking nearby.
Such a beautiful location and a lovely vibe. We had some bevies and enjoyed the view. Some of is bought the bacon jam to go and it was decadent.
Food was pretty good, though theres not a lot of items on the menu. I could imagine there might be a small segment of people who would have a hard time finding something that suits them. Great views from the patio.
So pretty. We came for the wine and the view. Both were amazing
Table was too tiny to sit 5 persons, we ordered so many dishes that it was not enough room to put everything on, waitress toke too long to accommodate us with a bigger table.
Great place, good food and views
I took my wife here for her birthday, and it most certainly delivered. It was a beautiful view with impeccable food and affordable prices. The staff was very friendly. Just be sure to get there before sunset as that s when the kitchen closes.
Stunning place. Wonderful service. Food is overpriced IMO
This is more for the view than for the food. The food is adequate and more like snack food and drinks while taking on the view. If youre hungry, go elsewhere.
Great Food... Unbelievable View... Fantastic staff
Wonderful view of the bay and Glenora Ferry. Fresh fall day added beautifully ambience. Small quaint indoor space. Charcuterie board delicious. Other tasty delights locally made. Tasted local beer then went to Lake on the Mountain brewery to take some home.
