Beautiful and large rooms, what a classic place!

Spent 2 nights in the Richard Burton suite, lovely room, wonderful breakfast delivered each morning. I highly recommend The Cape in Picton. Rooms: Our suite was lovely, beautifully decorated and spacious. The bathroom was updated and exceptionally clean. Food and drinks: Breakfast was delivered each morning, hard boiled eggs, croissant and pain au chocolate (my favourite!) plus OJ and fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola. Yummy

My husband and I stayed in November as part of the Shatterbox Theatre production of Cabaret. We both agree that its the best stay anywhere that weve had in 10 years! Beautiful location and architecture, amazing rooms. We really liked that the rooms were named after characters in the play. We stayed in the Sally Bowles suite. From the moment we entered the room we felt like VIPs just from all of the little added touches: truffles, stocked mini fridge and tea/coffee area, etc. The best part, though was when we went to go down for our continental breakfast and discovered that our breakfast was waiting outside of our room. Amazing service and breakfast! Booking and check-out were very easy. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone. I never realized initially that this was a hotel when we attended the cheese festival here so I really can t say much about the accommodations themselves. It is a nice looking hotel for sure. Looks historical which I like. Hopefully I will stay there in one of my next visits to PEC. the cheese festival was great though!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cape! The room was spacious and the house itself is stunning. I loved being able to text with staff directly, great communication. The breakfast was such a treat!! We will definitely be back!

Stayed one night mid week with my husband while on vacation. Stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor room. It s a beautiful room high ceilings, king sleigh bed, antiques mixed with a modern marble bathroom. Nice welcome note fresh little flowers and locally made chocolates. Those little details are appreciated! The room was clean. We had a warm greeting and staff were generous to offer help bringing our stuff up to our room. Nice linens/towels. Complimentary tea, coffee and some drinks in the mini fridge. The only constructive feedback I have is that you can t control the temperature and I found it warm. Thankfully there was a fan to compliment the A/C which due to the age of the home wasn t entirely effective. Also a light stays on in the hallway and I m sensitive to light so it would be nice if it dimmed at night. Lastly, the bed was firmer than my liking. Maybe you should have a topper to offer guests if they find the mattress too firm. As I was staying one night I didn t mention this. The breakfast delivered to the door the next morning was fabulous! Fresh juice, lots of different fresh fruit, granola/yogourt, hard boiled eggs and fresh pastries and homemade preserves. Filling and a great variety. We ate outside our room. Limited places to dine outside of your room more lounge like then tables. If it s nice you could go outside. It s walking distance to downtown so a very convenient location. No staff on at night but I did have contact info should something come up. I wouldn t hesitate to recommend the Cape Rooms: Luxurious clean room Walkability: Very close to the downtown for restaurants/shops. Merrill House for fine dining next door.

Amazing service and beautiful environment

My husband and I stayed 1 night in the Elizabeth Taylor suite. It is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was delicious, it was recommended that we sit in the nook right outside our room with a large window and it was perfect. They use local soap, cheese, truffles to acquaint you with the Picton area. It was just a really lovely experience and well likely return for a longer stay in the future.

The CAPE is a lovely property, well located in the town of Picton. Our room was large, well appointed, and clean with a great bathroom. The continental breakfast was a real treat. Gorgeous home turned boutique hotel. Rooms: Large and well appointed. Walkability: A very short walk to shops and restaurants.

Had a wonderful stay here, the room was spacious, clean and beautifully designed. Lots of local products shown off, and the location was excellent, being within walking distance to many shops in Picton. We loved the complementary breakfast as well. Highly recommended.

Where do we even begin!? From the moment we walked into the stunning mansion, we knew we were right at home. Elizabeth and Jake quickly became family as we planned our beautiful wedding day. Our guests are still talking about how perfect the venue was and how much fun they had dancing the night away with us. We couldnt have asked for a better team to help bring out wedding dreams to life! The enitre team at The CAPE are so warm and welcoming. We knew we could trust them to bring our vision to life with numerous long discussions during the planning process in great detail of exactly how and where we wanted things throughout the day. The small details of having County Candle Co essential oils in the room and candles buring on the main level of the house, delicious breakfasts in the Mark Twain Room and the crowd pleasing local beverages served during our wedding day. We cant thank the team enough for playing such a massive role in our best day ever! Looking forward to many more visits in the years to come! Getting married in the brides hometown was such a dream come true allowing us to showcase the beauty of Prince Edward County to friends and family from all over North America! Rooms: Gorgeous, spacious rooms that all have a beautiful view of the sprawling front lawn. We were able to watch the staff setting up for our wedding Saturday morning and it was a joy to see everything coming together. Food and drinks: Breakfast both mornings were stunning and so well thought out. Everyone enjoyed gathering in the Mark Twain Room to share a meal on our wedding morning as well as reminiscing the morning after!

We had our wedding here in May and what an absolute dream it was. I wish we could re-live the day over and over again. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff were incredible! Cant wait to come back for a visit!

Beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet area of town close to the downtown strip. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the Richard Burton Room and it was so nice. The wife loved it. The continental breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Delivered to our room door was fresh bagels, fresh fruit, cured meats, cheese and tomatoes. Sooo good. Will definitely be going back! Dont expect a lot of tech, expect a private space, surprisingly large room and bathroom, and excellent proximity to downtown Picton. The breakfast is served directly to the room and includes many different local foods. With only 4 rooms in total, it does feel almost like your own private space for however many nights youre staying. 100% recommended!

First time in Picton and I can t say enough about my stay at The CAPE! From my first phone call with Jake to raise my food sensitivity issues (this man is a true gem!), until my reluctant departure, I felt like a VIP guest. The check-in was so warm and welcoming (thanks again Jake!), complete with large lit candle and flowers at the front desk, and a mini tour with some history sprinkled in about this magnificent building. The vibe was so relaxed and friendly, I felt immediately at home. We stayed in the Cary Grant suite. It was roomy, bright and ever so comfortable (bed and linens were too!). Lots of thoughtful touches like luxurious popsicles in the freezer because of the heat, an essential oil diffuser, chocolates, French press for coffee, specialty teas and fun complimentary drinks in the fridge. The breakfast delivered to our room exceeded all expectations. There was so much and it was all local, fresh and delicious. The chef is outstanding! She accommodated my food issues so well that for the first time ever, I felt like I didn t have any! Walking distance to Main Street shops and close to the water for evening strolls. I highly recommend you treat yourself to The CAPE. You will feel so pampered and cared for that you will want to go back, again and again - or in my case, you will simply never want to leave.

How can I give 10 stars?! My goodness! Where do I begin? The Cape is an absolute gem and what made our wedding SO special. So glad I listened to my gut and stayed the day before giving me the most relaxing, soul fulfilling day of relaxation. On the wedding day, I got ready at The Cape where all details were utter perfection. The staff at The Cape from the moment we booked to the moment we left made sure each aspect of our stay was exceptional. Everything was infused with intention, we felt so taken care of. I cannot thank The Cape enough for making our special day truly unforgettable. Now I didn t even mention the STUNNING rooms, divine gluten free breakfast in bed and the most incredible energy of the entire building. Energy doesn t lie! This space is absolute magic. The CAPE was an extremely enjoyable experience from the moment we arrived and were greeted by James who was very friendly. This boutique hotel thought of everything- from chocolates in our room to essential oils to diffuse, to a personalized note. We loved it and felt pampered. The breakfast was amazing - warm croissants, fresh fruit and fresh eggs. A complementary bottle of bubbles in the room we enjoyed on the balcony. We spent an hour having a drink in the main room and the atmosphere with the music and rustic charm was so relaxing. We had the Cary Grant suite, where the private washroom is down the hall however robes were provided and it is such an intimate environment it was not a bother. We walked to the downtown restaurant we went to and to a brewery. It was a great location. We loved it and will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our weekend getaway at The Cape! Perfectly located just steps away from the main Picton strip. Excellent staff - so helpful and accommodating! We also absolutely LOVED the breakfast. The property itself is stunning - will be visiting again!

We searched for an escape with that je ne sais quoi, something different from the mundane. We discovered The Cape, a lovely and classy boutique hotel that mixes old world charm with modern amenities. From the moment we were warmly and genuinely received by James, we knew we were in excellent hands. The personal welcome card, chocolates and wine awaiting us in our suite, the complementary offering of locally brewed beverages in the en-suite fridge, and the sumptuous locally sourced breakfast delivered to our suite, all contributed to a decadent escape. This place is just amazing. If you are planning to stay in picton you should never miss this place. Located in a great area and walking distance to downtown. It s super clean cozy and feels like home. The decor makes feel like you are living in the old good times. My partner planned to celebrate my birthday and they did all the preparations and upgraded our room without asking. The breakfast was great with a little birthday cake even they offered us a local wine. Rooms: Big , clean , comfortable and beautiful. Walkability: Minutes walks to downtown

What an elegant place! I came during off season for a little getaway and I was blown away by the historic grounds, gorgeous suite, and delicious breakfast. I love that the breakfast included fresh, local jam, fruits and eggs. The greek yogurt panna cotta with maple syrup was amazing. The suite was decorated so beautifully and the bath and shower products were so refreshing to use. The staff were super friendly and accommodating too. This is the perfect place if you re looking for a luxurious, historic getaway!

What a PEC gem! We had a lovely stay here recently and received a warm welcome from the team. The rooms are gorgeous - spacious, clean and well-maintained. The breakfast waiting outside our door each morning was absolutely delicious and all of the little touches (welcome chocolates! a mini fridge with complimentary locally sourced beverages!) were so thoughtful. Cant recommend this place enough for a county getaway. Thanks for having us!

My wife Cassie and I got married at The CAPE in September 2023. From the planning stages to actual wedding day, Jake and the team at The CAPE have created a true gem in Prince Edward County. We had 106 guests and it was a perfect amount of people for the size of the venue. The four rooms on-site at The CAPE were ideal for family to stay at - extremely spacious and tastefully decorated. When it came to vendors to work with, The CAPE had no shortage of great ones to contact. We used a local A/V vendor who had experience working at The CAPE, and they couldnt have done a better job. We held our ceremony on the venue grounds, the dinner in a large white outdoor tent on the front lawn, and our reception in the funky Odyssey room which we covered from head to toe in tinsel. If youre thinking about having your wedding here, you can stop - this is the spot. Rooms: There are four rooms total, and we used them solely for family to stay at during the wedding. They are large and spacious with very comfortable beds and bright natural light. Noteworthy details: The CAPE is truly an incredible wedding venue. They can do it all. Jake is an absolute delight and we look forward to returning for a stay sometime!

A huge comfy bed in a luxurious setting. We had two rooms and the sleep was wonderful. Afternoon tea from the kitchenette and then a good mug of coffee in the morning. Reception was friendly and informative. Quality linens and towels. Stylish bathroom. We relaxed and enjoyed.

This was our first time to Picton, and staying at The CAPE. Jake and Elizabeth were great to work with. Timely communications and responsiveness! Our room was exactly as pictured and described on their website. Comfortable beds, very nice amenities (soft towels, robes, wine, beer, snacks, and many other beverages), and beautiful, historic building. Location is an easy walk into town. The chef was off the weekend we stayed, so they gave us a gift certificate to use to get breakfast in town. Much appreciated! Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Picton!

The historic building itself was very beautiful. The whole BrB is so tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor suite. We love the view of the hundred-year-old oak trees in the front. The service was excellent and the host went above and beyond to make us feel like home. We would definitely be back, we may even bring our friends next time.

The Cape provided the perfect hideaway weekend. Elizabeth with The Cape provided exceptional service with arranging our stay. Once arrived, she ensured we were checked in and comfortable. With a glass of wine in our hand, we asked for a tour and Elizabeth provided an insightful tour with the perfect balance of history and how the space can be used for events. Our room was well styled, clean, comfortable and we were greeted with a hand written note with breakfast suggestions. The bathroom was modern, clean and bright. The highlight of the space is truly the common spaces. The main floor rooms provided a unique venue for us to drink coffee in the mornings and play board games in the evenings. The kitchenette was well stocked with local beverages and the coffee was excellent. With several stores and restaurants within walking distance, The Cape truly provides everything you need.

Amazing stay! Beautiful and unique space. Close to Main Street attractions and bars! Customer service like nothing I have ever experienced! Worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. Jake was the man! If I could give 10 stars I would. We will be back 100%. Can not rave enough. Was just totally wowed!

Unreal!!! My wife and I stayed for a night and never wanted to leave. Probably the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in (and there have been a lot of really good ones!). Jake welcomes us so nicely . He suggested so many great wineries and restaurants . The Mansion is fabulous . Our room Cary Grant was wonderful. Since it was in the middle of the week , no other rooms were booked so we used the lovely balcony for breakfast and our happy hour. Elizabeth brought a fantastic breakfast to our room. The location is fantastic close to all the downtown action. It was a perfect Getaway for our wedding anniversary. Thanks .

What a spectacular experience! We live locally and spent our anniversary at the CAPE in the Richard Burton suite. From the helpful planning to the attentive, warm welcome, the gorgeous suite and surprise in-room treats, our check in was wonderful. We strolled the 2 blocks downtown for dinner and came back to have a peaceful and very comfortable sleep in the king poster bed. The biggest treat was the continental breakfast. We had planned to go out but in the morning, there was a tray outside our door, filled with beautiful fresh food - pastries, local jams, fruit salads, hard boiled eggs, fresh orange juice and exotic delicious yogurts. WOW! Honestly, the whole trip was beyond our best expectations and we will be back again and again! (*the bonus was a pink champagne pop-up event on the deck the next day as we checked out!)

Perfect balance of presence when needed and (perceived) absence the rest of the time. We lucked out with weather, used the balcony in the sun for our private breakfast. Walk to main Street. Short drive to Sandbanks. Short drive to wineries. Big beautiful suites. The photos dont do them justice. Well stay 2 nights next time. And hopefully theyll have a level 2 charger by then.

Excellent hotel, nice location!

Stunning! Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2023. I can t say enough good things. The rooms are stunning and very clean. Beautiful property with majestic trees, in a neighbour hood of meticulously maintained mansions built in the 1850s. The first night we arrived there was a little play being put on in the front lawn. With the big trees and lights twinkling, I felt like we were in an episode of the Gilmour girls. The staff was great and went out of their way when we asked to stay an additional night. It was only 2 mins walk to the main street area with shops and restaurants. We re definitely going back.

We enjoyed at wonderful midweek stay at The CAPE in Picton during August. We were able to check-in a little early which was much appreciated as for a single night stay, it gave us more time to explore the local area. We stayed in the Cary Grant Suite, which was large and well lit with a very comfortable bed. The mini fridge has a sampling of some local beverages in addition to amazing coffee and tea. The historic building and grounds are beautiful. We felt rather high brow staying in such a fine and fancy historic building. The hostess that greeted us was very warm and friendly, and gelpful with respect to local restaurant and winery tour locations. Given that we only had a one night stay, we chose to skip the tours and just walk all around the town, looking at all the beautiful homes, trying local restaurants and pubs and just enjoying the area. The mid-week rate was more than fair for such a beautiful Inn. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to family and friends. If staying in the area, give The CAPE a try. You wont regret it. Walkability: 5 minute walk to the downtown, gorgeous homes and buildings in the area all very well kept.

The staff and the room were terrific. The breakfast was great and focused on local suppliers. It was very easy to walk to everything in downtown Picton. Highly recommend The Cape as a luxurious place to stay in Prince Edward County.

Felt like a princess waking up in the Cary Grant suite looking out into the garden. Breakfasts were all delicious. And then we get to the wedding! What a perfect location - despite having a wedding of 280 people, we were still able to feel intimate by utilizing each part of the CAPE at different parts - the wedding under the trees, the cocktail on the grass and the balcony, the wedding in the tent with an afterparty in the ballroom. Thanks to the team to making it the best weekend of our lives, we will never land from our high! Still waiting on pics from the photographer to capture the incredible night. Rooms: Every little detail is thoughtful to perfection!!!

The team at The Cape seamlessly turned our wedding vision into a reality. We couldnt be happier with how our day went. With calls for thunderstorms leading up to the day, the team planned not one back up plan, but THREE. They wanted to make sure our day was as close to what we pictured as possible - even in the rain. Our stay at the The CAPE Inn in Picton Ontario was very enjoyable. The Audrey Hepburn room was large and comfortable. Communications by text were promptly answered. The staff were friendly and considerate of our needs. We opted for the breakfasts, which were placed outside our door at 8:00. It was luxurious talking our time in the morning. We highly recommend The CAPE Inn as home base to explore Prince Edward County.

It was our first time at a boutique hotel and we weren t sure what to expect but we were totally wowed and would definitely come back! The experience from beginning to end was pleasant and enjoyable. I loved how they personalized everything with cute little notes in the room and made you feel special. The breakfast in the morning was also really good and fresh with local ingredients. Would 100% recommend this place!

Great experience all around staying at the CAPE. I was there for business in the off season and was going to arrive late at night due to weather. The team was immensely accommodating and communicative to ensure I got set up for the night. Breakfast each day was amazing and so fresh. The room was unique and beautiful as well. We will certainly stay again in the future as I cant recommend them enough! Walkability: Close to downtown so most shops are within walking distance.

The CAPE was the perfect venue for my intimate wedding last year! It was absolutely stunning and every member of the CAPE team was incredibly hospitable and accommodating. They took such wonderful care of us that our guests have already asked us to go back and host another event there! Every detail was considered and I was impressed with the teams efforts to ensure the process was as smooth as possible for me during the planning. You cant ask for better service; this is the place to host your next event! Thank you CAPE for the wedding wed always imagined.

In my opinion, we had a difficult time working with their management for our wedding, they felt rude, unaccommodating, and at times pretentious. We ended up being thankful that we hired our own planners and staff (from the list of vetted providers, they were not problem). Serious structural repairs such as air conditioning are required before I could recommend for a summer wedding. Several personal items went missing from areas only accessible to staff. Security provided by the Cape was ineffective. We ended up having a great wedding only thanks to others involvements. I think overall very expensive for the level of service and general unpleasantness.

A great developing event space with friendly and fun staff a wonderful place for a wedding or party style space

This was my first time travelling from Toronto to Picton, Prince Edward County. I absolutely loved my stay here at the CAPE Mansion. It is gorgeous!! The rooms are very clean!! The staff is helpful and friendly. Do not hesitate to ask them anything, they will always have a smile on their face! I enjoyed the breakfast. I felt like I was the Queen of England lol. What a treat to stay here! There was a lot of privacy. The history of the house is just extraordinary. Thank you, to the hosts!! We are definitely coming back in the summer.

Staying at The Cape was a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked through the front door we were transported to a world of beauty and elegance that we have never before experienced in PEC. Modern luxurious comfort exists within an envelope of formal historical architecture, with incredibly high ceilings, original huge windows and intricate woodwork. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor suite, aptly named for its beauty and glamour. It included a dressing area and a gorgeous marble clad bathroom, all of which were sparkling clean. My back was grateful for the extremely comfortable bed and the collection of pillows with various levels of firmness. We were warmly welcomed by Kilee who also served us breakfast at a romantic table for two located in a charming and private window alcove just outside our suite. The delicious breakfast included fresh fruit, croissants still warm from the oven, smoked salmon, waffles and much more. The location is a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants on Main St. which allowed both of us the freedom to appreciate the wonderful PEC wines with dinner. I would highly recommend The Cape to anyone who craves a bit of glamour in their lives - even if just for the weekend!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we wish we never had to leave. When you walk in, youre immediately transported to a previous time of elegance and charm. Theyve done such a spectacular job updating the many large rooms with the utmost care to achieve modern and very comfortable accommodations, while maintaining the unique history of the property. The management are more than happy to tell fascinating stories from the past about the rooms, furniture, and art that make up the house. Our Cary Grant room was stunning, with tall ceilings, long drapes over rich views, and detailed furnishings. The breakfast is extensive, delicious, and allowed us to explore other rooms of our choosing. It entirely felt like our own house by the end of our stay. There is so much to do in the beautiful surrounding area, but we had a hard time leaving the allure of our room. I cant recommend staying here enough if youre looking for luxury within a unique and purely PEC experience.

We stayed at the CAPE for my mothers 60th. We had a great experience. The owner, Corrine, made us feel at home and like family. They also gave great recommendations for restaurants, which we really enjoyed. Thank you CAPE for a great weekend!!
