2470 County Rd 8, Prince Edward, ON K0K 2T0, Canada
Farm to table restaurant offering seasonal sharing plates, natural wines, local beer & cider.
We had a fabulous meal at Stella’s last night! Every dish was flavourful and melts in your mouth. Great presentation and portion sizes. The baked brie with pear and walnuts was incredible, so was the black angus beef and sweet potato gnocchi. Even the winter kale salad was notable and delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Service and atmosphere were also fantastic! Can’t wait to visit again soon. Thank you!
On my trip from Michigan to Vermont and Quebec and back, this was my favorite restaurant. And one my favorite meals ever. Everything was superb: the food, the atmosphere, the service. We shared bruschetta and I had a risotto, both perhaps the best I've ever had. We're already planning our return trip to the county specifically to come back here. Yes, they have NA beer.
The best meal we had at the county in the last three years! We loved that you used local ingredients in your preparation and we loved the ties to your Indigenous roots. Service was very hospitable. You will be on our recommendations to all our friends! Thanks for such an enjoyable meal.
As always, Stella's left us excited about 1. Our visit today, and 2. Our next visit! The food was creative, fun, fresh, and so well balanced and thoughtful. The Pickerel (fried, with an all cooked duo of corn and tomatoes, topped with fresh basil) and the Fried Stuffed Squash Blossoms (garnished with honey) were the stars... supporting credit went to a tangy Char Tartare and some Broad Pole Beans (with pork belly). We LOVE this place. You will too!
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Stellas! Creative and delicious shareable items using local products. We really enjoyed the seared pickerel, squash blossoms, and wild rice risotto (no pics). pictured are the okra and sweet potato dishes, also very good. Lovely desserts were angel food cake with rhubarb, and Panna cotta with berries. Highly recommended!
I went there for dinner with a small group of friends recently. Stella's Eatery offers delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is cute with a nice atmosphere and lots of outdoor seating. They suggest ordering tapas-style plates to share but we found the portions disappointingly small for the price. I would say this isn't the best spot for families with kids. Due to the high prices and small portions, we probably won't be returning.
Wow. What a fabulous meal! Farm to table, local, seasonal -- exceptional! We came to celebrate our anniversary and left with such a memorable experience. The dishes are perfect for sharing so that you can try multiple dishes. The wild rice arancini were absolutely phenomenal, as were the duck liver mousse, lamb kafta, zucchini blossoms and pork belly. Each dish was perfectly executed -- there's a reason for everything on the plate. Menu changes based on seasons/availability. Dessert was blueberry shortcake. Service was excellent; Hale was attentive, helpful with recommendations and engaging. Lovely patio as well as dining room. Highly recommend -- be sure to make a reservation!
Visited for the first time in May 2024 and will definitely come back. The menu was unique, with elevated tapas-style dishes that are great to share (although they are bigger portions than tapas). I would recommend getting two dishes per person. We got the country fried rabbit, crispy pork belly, sourdough bread, braised beets, risotto, and rhubarb cake for dessert. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was welcoming and casual. We sat in the entrance area (shown in photo, near bar), but I think the other dining area nicer.
Delightful. Its a wee way out of the way.. Worth it though! Great selection of beers & bevies. Cool menu. Tasty. & Its beautifully decorated. What else could you want.. !
We had an incredible meal at Stellas Eatery and the staff were all kind and delightful!

We made reservations 2 weeks in advance. We ended up being seated by the door in the bar area instead of the dining room. It was so cold that my husband had to give me his jacket. We waited 15 minutes before seeing a server, and that was only after I spoke to the owner. Appetizers and entrees were good, but the blueberry crumble was so dry it was inedible. My entree came 10 minutes before my husband s. The wait time for our bill was so long my husband left to warmup our car and I went to the bar to ask for it. When I told him of our experience he gave us a 15% discount, which was nice but not enough to make us want to return. Our server, Hannah, was lovely.
a very pleasant experience,,great food and service
The dinning room is cold, take a sweater. Food is good, but plates are cold when plated. Parking: lots of parking when people park right, enter through side door off patio.
We so enjoyed our dinner at Stellas. Food was wonderful, wine pairings were perfect and Hanna our server was CountyLiscious!! Cant wait for my next meal there.
Delicious menu with locally sourced food!
Such a lovely experience. The food delicious, the service lovely. What a beautiful spot.
I am a vegetarian so my experience of a restaurant is always limited. The selection was pretty good, the salad and main course dishes were tasty and imaginative. There was no espresso machine but the coffee good.
Went for Countylicious. Great service. Food was good (brisket just slightly underseasoned but only just). Excellent oysters. Panna cotta was divine. We were seated next to the door so that wasn t great, so ask for a different table :) Would recommend and would go back myself!
As always, a fabulous experience!
Everything we experienced and sampled was marvellous!!! THANK YOU for a great dining experience in a lovely and warm atmosphere! PERFECT!!!... and the carrots were AMAZING!! Vegetarian options: lots of great choices especially for those who eat fish!!
I have only good things to say about Stellas Eatery. My boyfriend and I went last week for the first time, and had the Countylicious prix fixe menu (so cant comment on the regular menu). The meal was excellent, even inspired. Loved touches like the pickled mustard seeds with the rabbit terrine, the puffed wild rice and charred leek oil in the pickerel main course.. never mind the spruce panna cotta, and the thyme ice cream with the pear tart tatin for dessert. Service was friendly and attentive (without being overbearing), the room was surprisingly lovely given the simple building, and the music was refreshingly eclectic. Ive already recommended Stellas to friends in Mtl who also visit the County from time to time. And well be back next time were there!
Delectable delights at Stella s! Warm, welcoming personal service. A refreshing sparkling cocktail to begin our evening was enjoyed by all. Then, locally sourced Pickerel & roasted potatoes were divine in a relaxed garden patio as the sun set. A county gem. Vegetarian options: Veg options that were delicious Dietary restrictions: Accommodation for gf
Superb creative cuisine beautifully executed. Always inspired! Warm, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. A favourite! Food
We were seated in the middle of the front part of restaurant and we could hardly converse! It was SO NOISY! And there wasn t even background music. It was just loud! We went with another couple for Countylicious and could not carry on a conversation. Although the food was fine, it was not enjoyable.
This is such a lovely spot in PEC for food & drinks. Shared-plate style is great, as you can try multiple dishes without getting overwhelmed! They have a fabulous wine list as well as cocktails & non-alcoholic options. There are daily specials outside of the menu that I recommend (they change frequently). Ive been 3 times now, and each time the staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to make suggestions. Parking is limited, so if youre traveling with a few folks, I would strongly recommend sharing a vehicle. Thanks to the whole team for being fantastic!
Excellent tapas style dinner. You could see that the chef loves the food she/he prepares. Duck and rabbit were lovely as well as the brie! Also had a locally prepared soda type drink which was a mix of ginger and grapes. Very nice ! Kid-friendliness: Nice couple with tenish year old children who seemed to enjoy the meals.
Excellent food. Courteous and attentive service. Great discovery. A bit noisy and dark. But we will come back!
Magical spot. They were so accommodating and kind about us bringing our baby and toddler. Food was sensational. Highly recommend.
One of our best meals in PEC. Food is just so amazing and love the vibe. Parking: Easy to find parking Food : 5/5 |
This was such a wonderful experience The people there are really terrific - our server was friendly, professional and oh, so knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections. And, a joy to talk to. The food is truly creative - and most important - absolutely delicious. Cant praise it enough. This place is number one on our list for a return visit.
Amazing food and service - as always!
Best spot for brunch in PEC! Attentive and friendly staff, perfect menu that does not need any modifications and food came quickly and hot. This spot will be a top recommendation for friends and family of mine heading for a weekend getaway in the county!
Nice, Health tasty food, portions not to big, nice service. Was cold in the restaurant but there was great music on
Quaint spot. Well done food. Portions arent huge but I appreciated the more normal amount of food. Prices very reasonable.
We enjoyed the chef s table menu. A group of 12 is hard to accommodate, but they succeeded in making our evening a success. Between the food and Xander, our server, we walked away smiling and saying we are coming back .
Everything that Leia cooked was exceptional and our server was knowledgeable kind and super helpful . Not one detail left unnoticed and every dish was top quality ingredients and special unique flavour . I wish I could come back sooner but we live in Montreal . Will return next time we are in town Little details like the bathroom being spotless and being super kind to our baby also were noted and appreciated :) Thanks ladies wish you only more success
This is a truly wonderful space with exceptional food and service. The vibe is welcoming and calm, service is friendly and attentive and the food is out of this world. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
Food was delicious, service excellent! Well be back, thanks so much!
The dishes were spectacular - I would have given them a Michelin Star if I could. Very funky almost western, as in cowboy Western, Roadhouse atmosphere but clean and done tastefully with a warm comfortable vibe.
The three of us were seated at a table, given menus, and that was it. There were only two other occupied tables inside. We waited for over 20 minutes while servers ignored us, then we walked out. Never even got water. We were not offered an apology...just a rude bye.
We had a fantastic dinner. The food was well prepared and tasty, the service excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. We would highly recommend Stellas Eatery for anyone looking for a wonderful night out.
Service: We had a reservation but were initially ignored by staff for almost 10 minutes; bizarrely, they bustled past us repeatedly without making eye contact. On 3 occasions, we were brought another table s food. 3 different servers attended our table at various points throughout the meal. They tried their best and were nice once we were seated, but front of house systems were not in place to ensure efficiency and accuracy resulting in a haphazard and chaotic dining experience. Atmosphere: we were on the patio, which was lovely with a flower garden and hanging lights. Food: some dishes - like the flower tempura and pork belly - were tasty, while others ranged from boring to inedible. The beef koftas were raw on the inside; the arctic char tartare was presented in large, bland chunks; and the peach tart was an over-baked danish with a few pieces of peaches on top. Quite a disappointment, especially for the price.
Limited food before 5,
PEC has some great restaurants. Compared to similarly priced restaurants, our overall opinions are: - the menu looks wonderful, and some dishes are delicious (mussels, duck confit), but the other 4 dishes we ordered just met expectations (or not quite) - the service was what was mainly lacking. Waiters were very kind but were never attentive to look for guests who needed anything. Many requests were forgotten along the way, and we had to wait a long time between each of our 6 dishes, which came 1 or 2 at a time, slowly. When they were dropped off, many times the table was ready to be cleared and everything was just overlooked. Waiters just under-trained in general for a restaurant that charges similar prices to other top-notch restaurants nearby. Parking: There is plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: The waiters were kind to our children.
What a treat to spend time at this eatery. The staff were so incredibly friendly and genuine. Food was so fresh, like it just came from the garden. You could feel the love coming from not only the food, but the atmosphere and staff. We sat on the patio and felt so relaxed being surrounded by fields and nature. Definite must try.
AMAZING as always! Please check out this lovely little eatery. Food
Always a great experience. Excellent food and wine.
Stellas was excellent! An absolute gem of an experience. Every bite was a journey in discoverying new flavours. We cant wait for our next visit.
Spectacular dinner - fresh local ingredients, attentive and informed staff. The sharing plate approach is a great way to sample a few dishes, topped off by an inventive cocktail menu and local beer and wine selection.
Always an incredible meal and amazing service at Stellas. Every single dish was unique and delicious.
The food was delicious and the service impeccable, as usual. Stella s does not disappoint.
A very pleasant terrace with a guinguette light garland and a little background music. Top advice and a good meal with quality and tasty products. Vegetarian options: Several meatless dishes including a tasty vegetable risotto Parking: Large parking lot in front of the restaurant for customers.
Fabulous, creative food! Will be back again for sure! Enjoyed everything from the bevies to the entire selection of tapas-like plates. Outstanding!
Love sitting on the patio and enjoying a delicious breakfast. Our waiter was excellent!
Delicious, great vibe, creative dishes. We ve been for a few brunches and a dinner and everything has been excellent. Execution is top across the board, with great sauces, cook, balance and presentation. Dishes can _look_ a little rustic, but there is deep elegance in flavour, balance and texture. The menu changes often, so we re always eager to swing by when we re in town. At the time of writing this there is a pork belly on kimchi dish that is worth driving an hour for - one of the best pork belly dishes I have ever had . Plates are meant to be shared, but are generous. Cocktails were on point and the one time we did dessert it was also top notch. Beer and wine list is equally confident. Service and vibe are excellent - highly recommended.
I loved it, we didnt expect that but a small plate that we can share, great concept
Truly an enjoyable dining out experience. Our server, Brooke, was charming and attentive and the location, a perfect example of being out in the countryside.
Amazing food in simple, unfussy atmosphere. Great service. Kid-friendliness: Kind with our 1-year old Food : 5/5 |
Incredible place to have dinner! A little bit out of the way but very much worth it. The food was incredible, especially the arctic char tartare! The patio was gorgeous at sunset. Highly recommend!
An authentic restaurant,
Fantastic every time, our favourite county restaurant.
We had the pleasure of dinning there during our stay in Prince Edward County. We were staying in Wellington and we totaly enjoyed the ride to get to the restaurant looking at all the beautiful little houses along the way. We were on the lovely terrasse, altho there were a few people, the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. The service was on point and the food was delicious. This place was totaly worth the drive, we were not desapointed.
Fresh, incredibly delicious food and drinks. The flavour combinations are well thought out. Ingredients are locally and seasonally sourced. I will be dreaming about this food and drink experience for months until I can return to PEC again and book a reservation. This team is so talented and so friendly. Fantastic local restaurant. Im happy to support every time I visit the County.
Went for the first time and wont be going back. Stella s has a cute outdoor patio, the staff is very friendly but I find their food pretentious and overpriced. My dish was tasteless so I was not pleased but they were kind enough not to charge me for it. Very nice of them.
We were very pleased with the entire culinary dining experience. Locals were correct . the absolute best in the county as far as we could tell. We made lovely friends across the way and even enjoyed sharing some bites with them so they could savour the summer delights too
Fabulous food and service! Lucky to have Stellas in our hood!
Admittedly I didn t know what most of the dishes on the menu were but the servers explained everything and gave great recommendations. Exceptional dishes were: confit pork belly, torched Milford reef, Black Angus beef kofka and seared steak picanha. The atmosphere was casual and nice, but for some badly behaved children at a nearby table, which, while not being the fault of the restaurant, did take away from our dining experience.
good place, nice patio. Unfortunately signifiant missing ingredients that night to make cocktails and some of the dishes. Other than that, good experience
We have had the very real pleasure of dining at Stellas Eatery on two occasions now while visiting the County and would happily make the 3 hour drive just to eat there. The menu offers an eclectic choice of tantalizing items begging you to try all of them. And our picks have been all been consistently fabulous. Well prepared and loads of flavour. The service is warm, friendly and efficient. We we well taken care of. Highly recommended!
I really like so much about this place, its hard to put it all down in one post. The food is delicious, varied, and memorable. Service is fun, not uptight, excellent, attentive, and really convivial. Atmosphere is the perfect County vibe. Its hopping, casual, but serious in making sure everyone walks out happy.
Unfortunately, our experience was surprisingly disappointing from the minute we arrived. We arrived on time for our reso but multiple servers saw us waiting there without saying hey or well be there in a second so it was pretty embarrassing to have other diners stare at us. After being seated, our server didnt let us know that items we wanted on the menu were no longer available. So, a different server had to come over to clarify - overall lots of confusion as to what was available and what wasnt so we assumed wed get a wrong dish at some point. I have a severe nut allergy (anaphylactic) which I communicated to them as it is my responsibility to ensure staff are aware (and I carry an epi-pen) and I do believe it is obviously fair to let staff know. They confirmed and assured it wasnt a problem. However, the dish came out with nuts on it. It was upsetting because I trusted them to get this right and feel safe eating there yet I was fearing other items had nuts on it. They replaced the dish without nuts but at this time we wanted to leave. Some items were compd and they apologized but we really just wanted to leave because nothing can snap you out of the anxiety that comes with severe allergies. Of course, when they brought the bill over, the items they said theyd comp were not compd so it had to be adjusted again. Overall, we felt like something was wrong with us and didnt belong. We questioned ourselves if wed done something wrong but we were kind and didnt harass anyone as we dont do that yet felt very unwelcome - maybe because we were the last reso of the evening? We were so excited to dine here as wed heard great things and value inclusivity by supporting local businesses but this was a let-down. The food definitely was unique and tasted delicious but the experience diminished this. Maybe it was an off-day for folks but when severe allergies are involved and clearly not taken seriously, its unacceptable, far from inclusive.
Servers were incredible and the food and atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend! Thanks for a beautiful meal.
Stellas is by far one of the BEST restaurants in the County. The vibe is perfect and the food incredible. There are many great restaurants we love in the PEC area but Stellas is by far a top and we love that the menu changes with local ingredients and new techniques - we are NEVER disappointed.
Loved the relaxed ambiance, music selection, friendly staff, and delicious food selection. An absolute must visit for anyone coming to the County. I cannot wait to come back.
We had an excellent dinner - food and service were both excellent. Wine list is very good too - one suggestion for improvement is to have better stemware available for dinners who are having a special wine.
We really enjoyed our meal at Stella s! The zucchini flowers and bruschetta were fabulous as were the peach and blueberry desserts. Our mains and the wine were all terrific! The service and staff were particularly nice and fun to chat to. Will recommend and be back!
Great food; great service!
The portions were terrific, very generous, and the flavour of each one was so distinct. I didn t want to mix them. They were just perfect as individual plates. Parking: Parking is generous and there s always a space for one more even on crowded days
Some interesting and excellent food choices, with helpful info from the wait staff. Sharing plates is great option for exploring new food choices.
Normally, Stella s receives a 5 star review but the brisket was tough and chewy, everything else was great as usual, just disappointed in the brisket and yes, we did tell the server. The brisket was the only food left on the plate.
We weren t expecting the small plates cuisine when we arrived. So delicious. Each dish was exquisite and well presented. We dined indoors and the atmosphere was relaxed. Servers were attentive and helped with suggestions. Overall a great experience Parking: Spots are limited but we arrived for 8:15. Not sure which tomes are busy. We had no problem though
We ve been sometimers in the county for 4 years now, but with our rustic, off the grid property we are almost always too tired to go out for dinner. This weekend though we discovered Stella s Eatery just 20 minutes down the road. In learning this restaurant was Indigenous based/owned, and supporting local growers, we decided to try brunch. My husband (both Indigenous AND a former chef) was thrilled to find a place he could indulge in food, real food, food that literally fed his soul. There s only a handful of times I ve seen him smile with pure content during and after a meal, this was one of those times .. mmmm, real béchamel!! He had the Duck Confit hash, and a Croque Madame to take to go. As for myself, I m allergic to dairy, and had no issues and was well informed of my options before ordering, I had the confit pork belly which was naturally made dairy free, it was like nothing I ve ever had before, so tasty, and loved the gochujang sauce. The vibe was relaxed, the music was varied, the staff were pleasant and attentive and accommodating. Will be back. Will make reservations ahead of time. Dietary restrictions: Allergic to dairy, was accommodated and informed of my ordering options.
There are three components to this review the good the bad and the fix. The good: The food is superb, well presented and well portioned, not generous with oil (which sometimes drowns out the taste) original and thoughtful in preparation and very well presented. One would never know the quality of the food from the outside. Do not be fooled! it is well worthwhile and truly excellent. The setting, which is informal, adds to the experience as a sort of 70s patio lantern feel with a real splash of bohemian, all that is missing is Kim Mitchell (when he had hair! ) The bad: 1. service. The service was not very friendly or particularly good. I found our server to be immediately defensive on almost every query e.g Not having been to the area in about 4 years we were surprised to see so many LGBTQ flags, out of interest I asked why this area has so many? (I expected an answer that we have many LGBTQ residents living here or people are very supportive etc.) instead I got a defensive: well the flags are here year round not just for the month; she could not suggest how many mezes/shareables were needed in her estimation for 3 people (as that is the method of serving) and when asked about the dearth of Prince Edward county wines on the list e.g. generously 10% of the wine list, she could not answer or even provide a local option. Finally, the strawberry flan was partially drizzled over my wifes dress and the waiter had to be advised to bring some club soda to take away the stain. 2. Wine list: This is wine country. admittedly they may not be able to do zinnys or big reds, but whites, pinot noir and Bacos etc are well within their bailiwick. They truly need to be reflective of the area. Stellas takes pride and rightly so in local produce, they must equally take pride in the local vintages and at least have a majority of local wines. Given the cost of the meal, those who eat at this establishment will not shirk from paying the price. 3. Plating: given that we have a series of mezes that come in three shareable portions there needs to be an exchange of plates and cutlery at times and waiters must be aware of this on their own; eating seafood on a plate followed by rabbit raclette is not the epicurean experience one expects. Changes must be offered mid meal. Furthermore, the plates must not be scone sized small plates nor should they be large dinner pates, but a mid sized plate would be perfect allowing for cutting and placing. Finally, when serving the flan, let me say it is superb, it must be served in a plate with pronounced sides so that the liquid does not slosh over the edges when the server walks it to the table or places it on the table The fix: 1. train your waiters properly to deal with the issues above; if this were a small time roadside diner I would have no issues BUT you are asking top dollar for your product (well deserved given the quality of the fare and the preparation) it stands to reason that your crew will be equally well prepared and trained. 2. wine list. For gods sake make the majority of your wines Prince Edward County wines, it MUST match the pride you have in local sourcing of foods which you proudly and rightly display. This needs to be addressed. 3. Get proper plate sizing. People need space to cut their food or stabilize it. It should not be gargantuan or dainty, but a middle ground must be reached. Finally, offer exchanges of cutlery and plate for the next set of shareables in mid course. Conclusion: This is a gem of a place in terms of ambience and food. It is not a cheap eats place. It is a wonderful place to experience local foods and superb preparation. It must succeed but to elevate it still requires work as per my commentary. I plan to return to Stellas with these changes in mind. Bohdan
Confident in what it is trying to do, one of the more unique and interesting menus in the area.
Divine. IYKYK.
Amazing food and service! Absolutely adore this restaurant.
Consistent food nice menu options and Great Service!
Food was amazing. Such a lovely space with wonderful service. Will definitely come again.
Amazing brunch and great service. Would highly recommend. Definitely will come back
As always the food is spectacular and the staff are friendly and inviting. My favorite place for dinner in the county.
You might as well close your eyes and point to anything on the menu. Anything and everything is DELICIOUS. The unfettered, personal vibe this place is the reason we return at least once a month.
What a charming, perfect patio for our dinner. Waitress was wonderful. Of special note, the combination of the smashed potatoes and pickerel dishes had some magic! Delicious. Well be back! Mona
Absolutely extraordinary food, service, and atmosphere! A must-do for anyone visiting the County.
Lovely to sit outside by the forest. They have a way of creating magic dishes with local ingredients at Stellas. Its the most delicious food you can find in PEC.
This was our second time at Stella s, we enjoyed the new dishes. I particularly recommend their pork belly, which is crispy and yet melts in the mouth at the same time and the fried rabbit. But so far no dish has disappointed us, everything will have you wishing you could lick off the plate.
Amazing place, very charming, great food and nice people!
Gave 3 stars as felt very rushed. Staff were engaging & attentive. Drinks ordered with good recommendations & served quickly . Requested brie dish to share & each (party of 2) ordered main. Barely sipped drink when hot brie dish arrived, hadnt got any on the toast & the mains arrived. Felt extremely rushed & could not eat everything while hot let alone warm. For years have recommended Stellas to neighbours & PEC visitors as food is unique & flavourful. The mains were good (brisket & country fried rabbit), brie dish was bland.
Brunch at Stella s! Patio accommodated our dog and our waitress even brought him a bowl of water. We all enjoyed our beautiful and delicious dishes with cocktails, coffee and County Bounty. Perfect birthday celebration!
I always love the layers of flavours and textures from each dish at Stellas. We ordered a myriad of goodness last night and left so fulfilled in every way. Great service makes the whole experience top notch, every time.
Why isn t this place packed for Sunday Brunch in July? Delicious and original menu, lovely outdoor patio, great staff. Excited to come here again and again and taste their fabulously different food!
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. The food always has some novel twists. Great place
Stella s is second to none!!!!
Vegetarian options: Lots of options. Menu changes daily based on seasonal availability. Food
Stella s is one of our fav summer spots to hang out at or enjoy a great meal. Love it! Vegetarian options: My vegan daughter always finds several items to her liking Parking: Lots of parking.
One of the best meals I had whole visiting the county. Highly recommend going - every dish is so thoughtful, fresh, and delicious.
I have never had anything but a quality dining experience here! In fact (if it is at all possible) I feel the food is just getting better each visit If you are in Prince Edward County I highly recommend that you have a meal at Stella s Food
I cant put into good enough words how delicious my meal was. The duck liver mousse was so good I had to bring home 2 containers for later and the oysters are so yummy. The staff were lovely and they have a happy hour as well, which was a bonus. Highly recommend you check this place out.
I had the most fabulous dinner at Stellas last night. Combined with fantastic service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, this place is a gem. There are now so many excellent restaurants in PEC, but there is something about Stellas! Its hard to recommend specific dishes because everything is so good, but the duck liver mousse is beyond delicious (and now available at PECish and Vickis Veggies in little pots of which I think I have consumed 6 in the last 2 weeks), rabbit rillettes, anything the chef does with scallops, gnocchi like clouds of perfection and beautiful inventive salads using fresh local seasonal ingredients. Amazing cocktails too, the bartender is a star. Just go and enjoy!
We had yet another truly wonderful experience at Stellas last night. The food was not only delicious, but it was so gorgeous too. And the service was second-to-none, as always. It is a guaranteed phenomenal experience.
Wow! The attention to detail on every dish was astounding. We ordered almost 1 of everything they had available as some items were sold out. I am not surprised, as every dish we had was fresh, unique and fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, special mention to the beets( I m converted to eating beets now)as they were exceptional. I will be returning to the county in the near future and ensure I have reservations to eat here again.
Amazing tasty food, service and place!
From the moment we parked and I saw the exterior of the restaurant I had a strong feeling we came to the right place for supper. The vibe was easy and charming. Delicious food, friendly cheerful staff, happy soul.
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING SPECIAL SPECTACULAR MEAL. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WOULD EAT HERE EVERY DAY FOR ALL AROUND AWESOMENESS. SORRY TO YELL BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE HEARD.
Those price and quantities are good for the happy hour. For the diner, I would rather have a choice of single plate that included, a vegetable, a piece of meat, and potatoes (rice ). Tank for the experience. Food
Delicious, innovative menu with a cute outdoor patio. We brought our dog and two year old and they were both welcomed warmly and loved the experience. Best meal we had in the County- highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: My kid loved the wild rice Arancini, crispy potatoes and pork belly!
Wonderful first experience. The entrance is at the rear of the building, not the front ;)
I can only describe my experience as extremely disappointing. I dont think I had unrealistic expectations, but when my husband and I dined there last night, we both left angry. Twice when my husband tried to order, he was told that they didnt have what he wanted (the wait staff would have been wise to approach the table with the information before we chose). Out of the 5 different dishes we ordered, one was excellent (baked brie). My salad was ok, my duck was ok, cold and I couldnt even try things on my plate because the utensils couldnt cut through some ingredients. My husbands shrimp dish was disappointing and my dessert (apple tart which I took to go because we were getting so frustrated with the service) was terrible. Crust was tough, apples were flavorless and caramel was bitter. I had two bites and threw it out. From the reviews online I really did expect much more. We will not return.
Stellas is a phenomenal spot-incredible food, locally sourced ingredients, lovely atmosphere and service.
Wonderful staff! So welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent and we had an amazing experience! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options!
Arrived for the last seating of Saturday brunch to find we were the only patrons which made for an interesting but certainly not an unpleasant experience. Service was very friendly and professional and the food was outstanding. We plan to return soon to sample the dinner menu on the outdoor patio.
Excellent service and food. Great experience! I ll certainly come back ! Parking: Easy access Food : 5/5 |
Outstanding brunch. Our party of four loved everything that was ordered. Trout coquettes, steak and eggs, the tomato-based poached eggs were all standouts. Well be back lots
Worth the drive from Toronto to PEC on its own.
Always a great experience. The menu is so unusual, and the food is just amazing. Worth the trip down to the south end of The County for sure.
always a good experience Kid-friendliness: Very good Food : 4/5 |
Another pleasant evening at Stellas Eatery! The food is always excellent, the hospitality is superb, and to top of it all I truly appreciate the atmosphere! Check it out!
Four of us enjoyed our third visit to Stella s for dinner and it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous ( pork belly was the favourite) and staff were friendly and knowledgeable. A fourth visit will happen soon.
Service was slow. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible Food : 5/5 |
Stella s never disappoints. The service is incredible, the food is unbelievably good and more importantly the space / atmosphere itself is super inclusive and welcoming. This is a safe space for all in the county Dietary restrictions: Very allergy friendly for gluten free & tons of veggie options.
I literally laughed out loud at how delicious the pork belly dish was! All the dished were excellent and the wine selection was really good and interesting as well.
Great food, great staff!
We always have had positive experiences with the great service and fresh local foods at Stella s. We had a gluten intolerance guest in our party and Stella s not only provided lots of options but they were equally delicious. One of our favourite restaurants in the County . Food
Hands down my favorite place to eat in PEC. Seasonal, local ingredients and fantastic kitchen.
The tasting menu, local wine selections and service were all top-notch!
This is definitely a 5-star experience, and we would recommend it to everyone . From the service to the perfect food, it was wonderful. Were lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant in our area. Well be back again soon. Parking: There is lots of parking.
One of the best meals Ive had at a restaurant. Great service. Interesting options. Well be back next time were in the area. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant has an accessible parking space on gravel. Getting in, theres a door jam thats a little high but I made it over in a manual chair. The bathrooms are NOT accessible. I had to leave my chair outside the bathroom door as it was about 1 inch too wide to get inside the small bathroom. There are no handrails and even if you did get a chair inside, the location of the toilet would make transferring impossible.
Lovely spot! Great service! Creative, delicious food!
A truly five star experience brought down only by the bar service. The bartender was great and working hard but couldnt keep up with the orders. Other staff need to be pouring taps and opening other easy drinks while the bartender is making cocktails, or they need to hire more bar staff. Really the food is wonderful, the service is friendly, everything is spot on but a 30m wait for a beer is just unacceptable. The 30m cocktail I had was also quite good. YMMV.
Whatever you do order the fried rabbit.
Very disappointing. We had high expectations based on what the website advertised...and it really wasnt there.
Wow...what a great farm to table experience. Great service which suggested that we share mains to experience more of their offering. We will go back.
Had an amazing meal at Stellas Eatey. Induged in a seacuterie platter and a garden salad with a miso dressing. Missed out on the pickerel a must try for our next visit. Ambience was inviting and cozy. Special thanks to Christine who made our visit special.
Very cute restaurant, a gem isolated away from the main areas but worth the visit great farm to table food experience dishes are shareable we loved the duck leg confit and fried rabbit as well as the beef kofta will come back for sure
Excellent food and service.
Loved their cheeseburger. We had a great lunch here today. Dog friendly patio. Staff were just so nice! Highly recommend.
Loved out dinner here! I do wish the scout mussels weren t served in their same tin, or that they made the mussels themselves but that s my only suggestion. Other than that, definitely go here! Food
After several recommendations from locals in The County, I decided that I needed to try out Stella s and was not disappointed! Since I had not made a reservation (highly recommend that you do!), I was seated on the patio. The dishes are meant to be shared. I was by myself and ordered the beef kofta which came on a bed of fresh greens and a creamy hummus like dressing. So fresh and so delicious.
Service was very helpful and friendly. Food came quickly and tasted great. The restaurant was clean and bright - missed some warmth for me. The patio looked inviting - it had just rained so not available.
Incredible experience overall. Great area, great staff, great food. Enjoyed greatly
It is literally 0740hrs on a Thursday. And I m thinking about their food.. I have ate here several times and it has been days since I have returned. Just go! I can not express enough about the talent chef Leah has. Food is so yummy! Memorable meals! The vibes in the evening are my fav! So warm and cozy! Tapas style! And as always a lovely conversation/service from Cristina!
Absolutely wonderful. Charming location. Seasonal and fresh food. Best service. One of the best spots in the County.
Top top!
Beautiful presentations and very pretty indoor dining room + terrace. However, it lacks atmosphere: no music. Here are our favorites, in order: risotto, rabbit, tomato salad, marshmallow dessert and brisket. The Risotto was incredible: different tastes and textures. Half of our brisket was fat. The flavors of each dish are sophisticated and good. Unfortunately they were out of fries when we went. The service could be reviewed. Considering the prices and the farm to table formula, explanations of the products offered to us would make the experience more complete.
So impressed with Stellas! Everything we ordered was delicious and unique. The menu has so much variety and we tried several different dishes between our group of four. Our waiter Gill was exceptional - attentive, helpful with figuring out our orders, and didnt rush us even though we were the last table standing. Will definitely be back!
Excellent restaurant, tapas style meal They accept dogs on the terrace
So impressed with the food. Healthy, fresh and delicious. Great service too.
The first time we visited Stellas was at their old location in Picton about two years ago. Weve been wanting to visit the new place ever since we heard about it. We finally got to do that this week. The food is still amazing and creative although theyve switched to larger plates/portions rather than a small plate format. For lunch for two, we had the Summer Salad, the Fried Rabbit sandwich and the Spicy Cauliflower Tostada. All three dishes were fantastic. We also sat outside on their patio which was nice and quiet. Parking: Parking out front
We came to Stellas with very high anticipation, and they definitely didnt deliver. The bean dish wasnt fresh and frankly inedible. The rabbit dish was overcooked however the garnish and sauce was on point. The pork belly was nothing special. The only redeeming dish was the squash blossoms, and the strawberry marshmallow dessert was good. However the most frustrating part of my experience was the tableware. The knives given for the food butter knives were dull. I asked for a new one and had to wait for quite a bit, and that one turned out to be dull as well. The knives that came with the meat dishes also didnt cut well so it was very frustrating trying to saw through my food. The dish that the rabbit was served in was ready to tip over when you brought a fork into it. I was honestly very disappointed since we were expecting to have something close to a fine dining experience. I wont be back.
Stella s is a wonderful place. I recently had dinner there. The rabbit was delicious and so tender. Perfectly cooked. The green beans were so fresh and prepared perfectly. The service was attentive and so chill and lovely. Stella s is the best dining experience in the county. Love.
If you are truly a food lover, care about local and sustainable food sourcing, appreciate beautiful presentation, wine, cocktails, and enjoy an authentically warm and cool atmosphere- Stella s Eatery is your spot. Chef Leah is a singular talent with a consistently changing menu bursting with imagination and executed with perfection. Highly recommended.
Always a great time when i come here. Exquisite food, excellent service, and such a great atmosphere. Gillan is one of the best servers i ve ever had, period.
We arrived at Stella s Eatery for lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very warm and kind soul named Jack. Jack made us feel right at home and was very helpful with regards to popular menu items and making sure we were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Stella s Eatery to anyone traveling to the County looking for great food and service with a great ambience. 5 stars all day every day. Can t wait until our next visit! - Troy and Georgia
stella s is a must if you re in PEC. it s such a magical little spot and the food is always excellent. great wine selection and lovely staff (we love Gillan!!) grateful to have made many memories here
So good! From the ambience over the service to the food everything was pleasant and well thought out. I can recommend the braised beef and the fried rabbit but everything else was also really good. Highly recommended.
Good food! Service is meh...seemed to be an inconvenience to be there...
Cozy and good food
Food here is unmatched and I always end up trying something new, whether it s an ingredient or flavour combination. Portion sizes are fairly reflected in the price. Their drink menu is amazing and has great low/no alcohol options. The service is nurturing but not overbearing - leaving you feeling much more relaxed then when you ve arrived. and the location is perfect. Pastoral and dreamy- and a short drive from Picton. Highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I went for lunch at Stella s when we were in the Price Edward County area and we both loved the food! The service was also excellent and they have wonderful options specially if you are vegetarian. It has a nice patio with a beautiful garden and a must try place if you are in the area!
Delicious food, fresh ingredients. Margaritas are so good
Very slow- we waited more than hour for food; nothing special
This restaurant was just what I hoped it would be, elevated cuisine in a peaceful setting. Highly recommend
Had a reserved place inside but it was too cold because of the AC, so went to eat outside and it was also cold weather. Other than that the food was actually really good.
Our meals at Stella s are always so memorable, the chef, staff and atmosphere are all incredible. A must visit in the county
perfect portions to share. vegetable dishes were the best. I could easily order seconds of the Grilled Oyster Mushrooms. the Eggplant was also very flavourful. the Seared Pickerel was also cooked just the way I like it. Sage Creme Brule is now my fave. Service from Gillan was perfect, which I really appreciate- thank you Vegetarian options: actually the vegetarian dishes were better than any of the meat dishes
Loved the fresh ingredients, tasty well executed dishes and overall fantastic service. We went to the old location in Picton on numerous occasions and love the new restro near Waupoos! Lovely patio and larger space but same food and lovely service! We had the crispy pork, greens, shiishito peppers and risotto. Everything was tasty and had generous portions! I dont think Ive ever had so many shiishito peppers in one sitting! Always amazing, must check out if youre in the area!
A fabulous meal truly deserving of 5 stars for food, atmosphere and service. A chalkboard menu features various sharing dishes for everyone - ranging from local vegetables, meat and fish, all beautifully presented. Pictured: oyster mushrooms, Chicken liver mousse, pickerel, eggplant, fried rabbit, braised brisket, fried pork belly. My favourites were the vegetable dishes!
Tragically underwhelming brunch. Maybe it was an off day, but it was off. Food
What a great discovery! Food is decadent and well executed. Fantastic wine selection. Excellent service. And such a nice setting. Dont miss their corn fritters!
If you happen to be in the PEC region, do yourself a favour and make your way to Stella s. so much I could talk about from the knowledgeable and friendly staff, to the open and inviting dining room, beautiful big patio, but I ll focus on the food! The meal we shared was absolutely incredible! With daily menu changes based on the freshest ingredients, definitely worhh the the added work on the chef. If you re lucky enough to be there when rabbit is in the menu I would highly recommend trying it! However you won t be disappointed with anything you try; dish after dish was the best we ve ever had. 10/10 will return :)
Absolutely amazing food! Our new favourite.
Once again, the most consistently delicious restaurant to experience. Great ingredients, technique and service!
What a an absolute gem Stellas is! We had an absolutely delicious brunch (pancakes and eggs Benedict) on their beautiful and peaceful patio in our favourite part of PEC. The service was incredible as well and we look forward to going back next Summer
If I could give six stars I would. The service was fantastic, the ambience great- country casual. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the brisket, crispy potatoes and the scallops. It was very hard not to lick the plates. We will be back!!
Wonderful meal! Every dish was delicious, and they all complemented each other. I would definitely go back.
The food is all exceptionally good. While the mains and protiens are all delicious clearly the chef puts just as much thought into the veggies and sauces/purees as well. Great wine list and atmosphere. Well worth the drive from picton
Always outstanding. Food and Service.
There s no such thing to be called as service . No server taking drink, food orders until 30mins of wait after sitting in the table. No server checking in you and your food. You are just ignored. My french press coffee maker was leaking. We even found a hair in my husband s drink. But we didn t or couldn t say anything as no one was checking us in, or even taking a second to look at us. The food was good but not worth for the time you drive to the restaurant and 1 hour of wait to be served with food, not to mention 18% of tips they ask you to pay for the service you never received!
The best food in Prince Edward County! Great wine, beer, Cider, and cocktail menu! (Recommend Progression from Lighthall Vineyards) Such a diverse menu with sharable plates. The rabbit is incredible! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well.
A fantastic dinner experience on the last night of the Countylicious promotion. I was thrilled to experience creative flavours in every course. The chicories salad, duck leg and apple desert I chose from the Countylicious menu left me amazed at the flavour combinations and meal pairing options put together at Stellas. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Overall, the restaurant provided a very cozy atmosphere for our group of seven. A wonderful dinner experience and I cant wait to go back and try their regular menu.
Love this place on the edge of Canada. Never had better fried Rabbit. Elmer Fudd would be a regular customer.
We visited for dinner in the summer and enjoyed the local ingredients and the variety of options that were vegetarian. The service was friendly and helpful in deciding what options to choose. It was a very pretty location and nice to have the option to sit inside or outside.
