Resort dining option for locally sourced dishes served in an 18th-century house with patio seating.
We had a table of 8 on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly (7 pm.reservations) but we were over 20 minutes before we got our drinks. There were a couple empty tables, however they didn't have enough staff. The server apologized for our long wait for food - we were 1.45 wait for main. Drink orders were slow and the server was not attentive, but she was pleasant. They were clearly understaffed. It would have been a better experience with real napkins and not paper, especially at their price point. As well, tablecloths would have been preferred. Again for the price point this restaurant needs to step up their service and decor. The washrooms need replacing, they're old and not clean looking and having a urinal in the washroom is disgusting. Parking is almost non existent. The food was good, the trout was cooked very well. Everyone said their food was excellent. It's a small venue and a table of 12 came in, at that point we couldn't hear each other due to volume of voices. I probably wouldn't go back, although the food was great- 4 star. But slow server service, long wait time for food and the restaurant needing some upgrades and awful washrooms brings it down to a 3. 1
This is an absolutely stunning place to stop when you're in Prince Edward County! The food is incredible and they have a great selection of beers from their brewery at the base of the mountain plus wines from the county. The staff are really accommodating, and were really helpful in making allergy and diet changes to the menu. It was a hard climb on my bike to get there, but stopping at the Inn will likely be a part of my future bike trips!
Lovely spot for lunch! Always nice. Reliably so. Service is always delightful. Nice old century house. An " out of the way fave" .
First time here at this beautiful restaurant. Did not have a reservation but hostess sat us promptly! Gorgeous views, fast service, and incredible food. The chicken dish is outstanding and the short ribs were delicious. Fantastic evening, recommend this place to anyone!
What a truly wonderful discovery! The Inn is a fusion of French and Italian styles in an inspiring way that is all about dining detail. From the fois gras with peppercorns, to the best pudding au chomeur I've experienced yet... the owner's recipe that is OMG to die for. Olivia, our server, made the experience all the more pleasurable. She was the perfect balance of attentive without being intrusive. A definite recommendation if your near the Lake on the Mountain.
Great service and great food with a beautiful location. I had the asparagus soup and my wife had the mussels, we loved them both. I had the short rib and she had the chicken, both were amazing
Magical place, truly a hidden natural gem to have the two lakes where they are. Great food and service at the Inn, wonderful wine selection too. Right next to the provincial park and has a great hike potential. Worth the trip!
My wife, son and I had dinner at the Inn on June 19, 2023. It was a beautiful 24C evening and we sat on the patio with great views of both lakes. Our server was very pleasant and courteous. We had asparagus soup, short ribs, strawberry salad with chicken and tourtiere. All of the food was very delicious and full of flavour. A chef came out and picked fresh herbs while we were there and when I asked was informed that they try to source all of the ingredients locally. I like that. I will definitely return. Very good food in a beautiful setting.
Great
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and value for money in and area not known for this. This was the bet restaurant we tried in PEC. The ingredients were fresh, appeared to be local, and the prices were reasonable.
Dinner on the patio ,under the string of lights in the trees on a balmy summer night was magical . Best restaurant meal I have had in years.
Everytime we are here it s an amazing experience, the food , the service and the atmosphere are all top notch !
Went for lunch today with my two daughters. My daughter s quiche was cold. We ordered teas and the water was not hot. The tea bags tasted like it s from the dollar store. I was not impressed.
I was there last night for dinner .Totally wonderful !! The food and service is always to notch . We had dinner at the main restaurant and followed up with coffee and dessert at the sister restaurant across the street ..Highly recommend 5 star plus plus
So pleased with my visit to the Inn for dinner. We had a reservation for 7 people and the staff were very accommodating when asked if we could move inside due to the cooler temperature outside. Everyone loved their food and wine and the atmosphere was cozy and perfect!
Excellent customer service. Great views.
Such a beautiful spot. Our waiter was really nice. We didnt enjoy the food however. My friend had the poutine - very small portion in general, and the meat on it was just a couple small pieces. Albeit the gravy was dark and flavorful. Fries werent anything special and my sandwhich didnt taste great.
The meal was delicious, just a perfect portions for a lunch.
Gorgeously located with view of the Lake, rustic settings, locally brewed classy beer and relaxing ambience. We are vegetarians and ordered the Salad, Pasta and Gnocchi. The food delicious and the Gnocchi outstanding. Pudding Au Chomeur was to die for. Vegetarian options: There are not too many options. But the pasta and Gnocchi were terrific Parking: There is a designated parking area close to the restaurant. Watching the sunset from the parking is a sight to behold
Cute little restaurant with delicious fine dining. Kale is a bit dry on the Cesar salad but the chicken and bread are wonderful.
Food was high end and delicious. I had the trout and it was really good.
My first and last experience at the inn. The servers were understaffed creating a hectic atmosphere My rueben sandwich for $19 was disgraceful. The tip of the iceberg: the manager, Danielle was not a gracious hostess when I complained about it, she called me a restaurant bully and was trying to get a free meal. Totally unprofessional. Youre paying for the view. Pack your own picnic.
Reserved a table for 2 at lunchtime for our anniversary. We booked in for 11:30, as they told me that 12:30 wasn t available. Our reserved table was the worst tiny table on the patio, stuck right in the middle without any privacy or sun umbrella. We asked if we could move over to the next empty table, no such luck. Our waiter never introduced himself or any of the menu items, and didn t seem very eager to take our order or even talk to us for that matter. Another server eventually brought our lunch. The food was mediocre at best, service was poor and the whole experience was so disappointing. I did not tip (first time ever not-tipping) and explained to the waiter why. He was very angry, muttering something about delivering the food and the kitchen staff still having to cook our food. I was dumbfounded. Won t ever be back to this establishment, but if we venture out that way again (1-1/2 hour drive for us) we will pack a picnic and eat at the beautiful park across the road! P.S. the table beside us was still empty by the time we finished our meal, left and took a stroll around the look out!
Not very family-friendly. A 18% services automatic for small group was not advertised on the menu. Good sandwiches. The beer were ok.
Had chicken sandwich. There was no taste at all. Could not taste the chicken though it was there Chef needs to work on this dish. No salt no flavor Food
An absolutely beautiful location, very quaint. Food is very high quality, and management is so nice and friendly, above and beyond! Loved the chocolate cake, a perfect end to a perfect meal!
Excellent meals of mussels, burgers, and sandwiches. Super friendly and terrific service. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Beautiful building and scenery.
Lovely view from the patio, attentive staff, the food was okay.
The Inn is such a lovely place for a romantic dinner or for groups. Very friendly service and excellent food and local beer. Definitely worth a visit.
Nestled amidst the serene beauty of Lake on the Mountain, The Inn at Lake on the Mountain offers not only breathtaking views but also an unforgettable culinary experience. My recent visit to this charming establishment left me thoroughly impressed, and I am delighted to share my review. First and foremost, lets talk about the food it was nothing short of incredible. Each dish was a masterpiece, skillfully crafted to tantalize the taste buds and leave a lasting impression. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a revelation of flavors and textures. The menu boasts a delightful variety catering to diverse palates. However, what truly elevated my dining experience was the impeccable service provided by our server, Olivia. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were exemplary. Throughout the meal, she ensured that we were well taken care of, anticipating our needs with grace and efficiency. We opted to dine on the patio, which we had all to ourselves. The view of the lake was simply breathtaking, adding an extra layer of magic to our dining experience. The tranquil ambiance of the patio, coupled with the picturesque scenery, created a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The cozy interior of the inn also exuded a rustic elegance, complementing the overall charm of the experience. Whether enjoying a romantic dinner for two or gathering with friends and family, the atmosphere will provide a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to The Inn at Lake on the Mountain was nothing short of delightful. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, and picturesque setting makes it a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast. I highly recommend The Inn at Lake on the Mountain to anyone looking to indulge in a culinary journey that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Manager made a bad call when a newly poured glass of wine was accidentally split and broken and another one was poured and served without asking and then was charged for both
One of our favorite places on Ontario! Just a gem! Such a perfect combination of a food, atmosphere and service. Lookout is always breathtaking, the food is always amazing. Absolutely wonderful place!
Very nice location. Food was good, but not special. Good service.
The short ribs are the best I ever ate.
Favourite spot in the County you can t miss
Lovely place. Liked everything I ordered.
We enjoyed our meal here. The dining room was quite cozy. I had the mortadella & pistachio sandwich with fries. It had simple ingredients and came together well. I did wish they warmed up the focaccia, as it would have made the bread fluffy instead of stiff cold. My friend had the quiche and said there was nothing too special about it. It looked kind of dense. Service was quick. Overall a good experience!
I waited all season to come here, and I wasn t happy about it. Last year we had an amazing experience that I recommended to everyone but this time I had few things to say. The mussels were not up to their usual standards, the bathroom (one was out of service) Was very smelly and to top everything up, my friend got a hair in his burger. We are disappointed that the Inn is not what it used to be. Hopefully management will do something to make this place better. Only good thing was our server she was amazing that why we did not say anything
Quaint place on the edge of the lake, they were understaffed but still did their very best. Beautiful scenery
I try to get there a few times a year. Food is delicious and the stuff is always fantastic!
We wanted to go to the Miller house but unfortunately it was closed. Fortunately, we saw this place and decided to go there and it was the best decision to go with. We were quite hungry by then so we ordered almost everything on the menu. As im a vegetarian so i ordered portobello mushroom panino and bruschetta as starter along with coffee. Everything was super amazing. If you are travelling to Prince Edward, do try this place, trust me you won t be disappointed. You can also enjoy a beautiful lake view on both sides which is like cheery on cake!!
My wife and I love the place! Great food!
The restaurant has lovely ambiance and fantastic people employed, but I was honestly disappointed with the food. I had a roasted chicken sandwich on focaccia and the sandwich was served cold. The sandwich could have easily been elevated if served warm. Nothing about the chicken said roasted. I really enjoyed the zucchini pickles that were on the sandwich and my husband enjoyed the tomato feta spread that was served on the side because of my dislike of goat feta. My husband s burger was bland - completely unseasoned. The bun was cold. We both had fries. They were described as Yukon gold, but I m pretty sure they were white potatoes and most likely frozen. That was disappointing too. These dishes could have been way more successful with a few tweaks.
We came as a group of 4 for my husband s birthday and it was fantastic. The atmosphere is very cozy but refined, service was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. They have an extensive wine and cocktail selection, and their beers (IPA specifically) were great. It was a rainy, cold day and their food really brightened up the rest of the evening. We enjoyed the strawberry salad, bacon and goat cheese salad, tourtière, rigatoni, and braised short rib. We highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely come back the next time we are in PEC.
An amazing and must-visit restaurant! Every time I go, I cant help but order the rigatoni and pudding chomeur. There wine selection is a lovely mix of local and international wines. The food is the delicious and the view is absolutely amazing. Even if its chilly and you wind up inside, youll enjoy a cozy Inn feeling and a crackling fire.
Lovely spot! Food was very good and plentiful!
The food here is very good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very warm and rustic. Great place to eat while visiting the area. Recommend you have reservations as it can be very busy.
A super cute restaurant with great food and service. The surroundings have amazing views of the lake. Quite nice for a family outing.
The food was good however the service was lacking majorly in hospitality and timeliness. We waited over 40 mins for our appetizers to arrive and 1 hour and 35 mins for main course to arrive. Overall would not recommend.
Excellent food, wine list and service.
Good food. Nice patio in a lovely setting by the lake. Parking: Limited parking on the street. Paid parking lot across the street. Free parking lot close by. Wheelchair accessibility: Uneven ground to get to the patio but no stairs.
Location and food, excellent.Beers, eee... would be better if the house brands were just an option. Not a fan.
My friends and I had a fantastic lunch! The service was exceptional, and we were pleasantly surprised by their willingness to accommodate our furry friend, allowing us to bring our dog along for the meal.
Great site, great service and great food.
If you want a quintessential Canadian patio experience, this pub is beautifully situated to enjoy summer Weather and enjoy a nice beverage. I like stopping by as I do the wine/food touring in this region.
I enjoyed a fabulous dinner here while travelling in The County. I enjoyed a cold crisp of local Huff Pinot Gris and a delicious entree of pappardelle with fresh peas and a pistachio pesto. The pasta was absolutely delicious . I ate every bite! The service was great, the ambiance lovely and the food fantastic.
The tourtiere was amazing even the crust was delicious and our waiter was very nice and I had a view of the lake on the mountain.
Friendly staff, always great service.
Absolutely lovely. The patio was gorgeous and you can see the lake perfectly. The staff were beyond lovely and they were all so helpful. Food was outstanding; rich and worth the trip. The mixed cocktails were fresh for a perfect summer day.
Really delicious meal and nice wine selection. Not many vegetarian options, but what they have is done very well.
Food and service (wait staff) were excellent but management stained the entire experience. We were a family of 7 with a reservation for 11 am for lunch on Wednesday, July 26. Four of us had our leftover coffees from Lily s Cafe in Picton to finish off before lunch. I asked the hostess/waitress if it was ok for us to bring them in and there was no problem. Either it was the manager or owner sitting at a nearby table who, within about 10 minutes who very I kindly told us You cannot bring outside drinks here. This is a restaurant. , quite loudly in front of other patrons. She was very rude and made us feel unwelcome, and frankly, we felt there was racism/discrimination implied (most of us are Asian). We could not truly enjoy the experience, despite the excellent food and service. We understand many establishments don t allow outside food/drink, but there s a way to communicate this in a polite and respectful way. Also, bringing in almost-finished coffees does not prevent us from spending a lot of money on alcohol and food. We had intended to try the beer but was so upset we decided against it out of spite. We still ordered a lot of food, which was excellent. It s the next day and we re still feeling triggered by the experience. I could not recommend this restaurant unless something changes with management. One additional issue is that the high-chairs for babies/toddlers are unusable. There s no bar to hold the baby within so the child can easily slip off the seat and end up on the ground, so they are very unsafe and we were not able to use them for the baby we had with us.
The view of the green pastures is absolutely breath taking. Good food with exceptional service. Plus across the road is a waterfront view.
Always a smiling face to great you. Amazing food and service!
Had the make your own bruchetta for a snack with a couple of micro brews, decent, not overly expensive.
Place had so much promise, service was poor waited so long to get our mains, brought out the wrong appy. Fish was stale. Would not return or recommend this spot to anyone
Friendly service, excellent food and beautiful location.
This family owned historical inn is cozy and charming! It is located by the beautiful Lake On The Mountain and provides seating indoors and out. Service is always friendly and prompt and the house made beer made from the lake s crystal clear water is a special treat along with delicious food. Of note: Fridays is locally caught Pickerel fish & chips not to be missed!
Nice spot and people. Amazing house bacon. Perfectly fine but relatively disappointing house smoked salmon, though the dish is very well done overall. House made Italian sausage is similarly fine but not special. Tourtiere is a must, great flavour and crust.
All around great: beautiful views outside during lunchtime, attentive service even when it was decently busy, good food and wine. The tortiere was tasty, the quiche was good but a bit small. There is a different menu during lunch and dinner.
To begin with, the food was excellent, generous and affordable. As for the service, it was very good because of the waiters who were nice. However, the ambiance was average considering there was no music. On the other hand, the view of the lake is magnificent. Parking: The parking lot is often full and there is not much space. Kid-friendliness: There is a childrens menu. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is easy to access for people in wheelchairs.
We were there for lunch and dinner. We were very satisfied with the food and service. Freshly prepared and simply delicious. Highly recommended!
Love this place, great food and awesome view
Amazing Indoor and Outdoor eating... The Patio is incredible... Beautiful spot - Staff is wonderful - Desserts are the ABSOLUTE BEST - the Chomeur Pudding Carrot and Chocolate Cakes are arguably the best workd over!!! Unbelievable!!!
Stopped at the Inn for lunch while on a cycling trip, and the food was so amazing we came back the next day! We had 4 different dishes and were so impressed by the flavours. Ingredients were fresh, and the recipes were perfected. Tip: Get the bread with honey butter!
What a great little gem! Delicious food with great views! Look forward to returning when Im in the area!
Really amazing atmosphere- old stone walls and lively feel! Fish and chips were definitely a hit! Sometimes fish and chips can be quite greasy but this dish was excellent! Would recommend!
Great place to eat good and enjoy the awesome atmosphere. The sweet potato poutine is amazing!
The food and experience were AWFUL! It took us over two hours to get our food (they kept forgetting our orders) and when it came it was extremely disappointing. My season veg pasta (during the peak of veg season) was over cooked noodles with frozen peas and butter and nothing else (not even salt) that I d be ashamed to serve a toddler. We asked to speak to the manager, who was a few step away, but she turned her back to us while the waiter told us she wasn t there (she was literally steps away) and when I tried to approach her she kept turning around and walking away (oh the maturity). The only positive I can say is the building was nice, hopefully people who know how to run a business/cook will take over soon.
The location of this dining establishment is undeniably wonderful, earning a solid 10 out of 10. However, despite our prior booking, we encountered significant issues with the staff in securing our seats. Regrettably, I must say that the staff was far from friendly. While the food options were decent, they were somewhat limited in selection. The quality of the food fell into the just fine category neither exceptional nor disappointing. In the end, our enjoyment stemmed primarily from the beautiful location, but our experience was significantly dampened by the demeanor of the staff.
Always a stellar experience and amazing food, very cozy atmosphere and friendly service, attentive to all your needs. Great dishes for reasonable prices in an amazing setting.
Lovely rustic yet fancy restaurant. Good food & service. A definite recommend!
Bewitched by passing witches. Lovely nook, took us back in time to Ye olde Pub. We stopped for coffee and cake. Smiling service, reasonable prices. Great deserts
Thank you for making our 54th Anniversary so special, from the welcoming fire in the hearth of your majestic fireplace to Ryan our host and the absolutely scrumptious meal. From appetizer to dessert it was delicious and beautifully presented. We will be returning. P.S. The view from the patio at The Miller house is SPECTACULAR. Cheers and all the best for your opening of The Miller House this weekend. Barb and Bob Waterworth
The best
Great view. Great service. Food is meh. Drinks are meh. So see it for yourself. This to me cant be 5 stars because the food and drinks dont even come close to the view. They have made it this strategically to save money as the property across the street has the the better menu. Something interesting happening here, figure it out for yourself. Happy PECing
We made a reservation that was honoured early, and let me tell you this restaurant did not disappoint. Our table of 5 ordered a variety of the offerings from the pasta dish (my mouth is watering between bites) to the braised, slow roasted short ribs that required no knives and were astonishing. The caesar salad with kale in it was also spectacular. Our party all reported their meals were delicious. When you add to that personable and attentive service in a lovely inn-like feel complete with a fireplace, stone walls and beams and a lovely view of the lake and the mouth of the St-Lawrence, this is one place we can highly recommend.
Highly recommend the tourtière! Make reservations if you can. This place is always busy. Now if they could only get over their parking disputes with the County without dragging their customers into them.
Have been several times. Excellent view and patio.. friendly staff, although have been a bit slow at times - I usually go inside to pay rather than waiting around for that reason. Food is reasonably priced. Would like to see more options from the drink menu, but what they have is also reasonably priced.
First of all the ambiance. It felt like I walked into a Dickens story. I really loved the quaint charm of the place. All the little relics they had up on the wall. Second they had a pretty nice selection at the bar. Third, the staff was gracious and friendly. Which is always an unprotected factor for me. Another must visit location in the county.
It s was a lovely spot to have a quick bite and a cold drink. White bean soup and Asian veg salad pretty good, bruschetta okay. Settling by the lake, with a cool breeze.
Great spot . Awesome service. Enjoyed our various meals.
Great spot with awesome views. Everything my family and I ordered was delicious. - Becky
Nice food and service. Great view from the patio.
Great location for a wedding. Were local and it was the first time we went to an event here. It was a great evening and location was fantastic. We had dinner on the water and cruised the grounds. Lake on the Mountain is a super spot to check out. Were looking forward to returning and having an evening out in the restaurant.
Probably one of the best restaurants I ve been to in a long time fresh home cooked food everything we tried was delicious. Had a Caesar Salad the dressing was the best I ve had at any restaurant the trout cooked to perfection bruschetta was so good and also the rigatoni to die for.
Always enjoyed the scenery and the food. On my ladies birthday we had a reservation for 6 we were seated and our order taken. 90 minutes later our food arrive, severly disappoint in a place we have enjoyed over the years.
Went for dinner with our granddaughter. Food and service were good and we sat outdoors which was fabulous. They did not have a kids menu but said they could do chicken fingers and fries. We asked if the could put some pasta in a bowl, no sauce no cheese (picky eater) but they said no. Overall a good experience. Parking: Used the restaurant parking at a short walk down the road. Kid-friendliness: Not really kid friendly from a menu standpoint.
Stopped in for lunch while vacationing in the area, first thing that got my attention was the awesome smell of a wood burning fireplace as we got out of our vehicle. I ordered the Inn Poutine and a Lake On the Mountain Brewing Co. Cream Ale beer. The poutine did not disappoint and the beer was great! Waiters were fast and friendly.
Gorgeous scenery
Excellent food and the patio is great. Suggest reservations!
This restaurant is excellent. The food, staff & service was incredible. I would recommend to sit outside (weather permitting) since you have a view of the lake. Ryan who was our waiter was very attentive, funny and overall what service should be at a restaurant. Would highly recommend, all the food dishes were tasty, fresh and the portions were filling; prices are also reasonable for the quality and service you receive!
A very nice place, good food and in my opinion the service was also great (quick, friendly). Therefore I can absolutely recommend the restaurant.
Dinner was fantastic, what a beautiful little spot! Highly recommend!
Great location Great food staff and kitchen slow excellent food
Lovely location. Great service. Really embarrassing that a restaurant purported to be 4 star serves frozen corn and peas in August for Gods sake in Prince Edward County when the markets are overflowing with amazing fresh goods. And .... canned gravy. Much better fare to be found in Picton.
The waiter was great !!! Food was very very good, braised short ribs were off the charts good.Beer and wine selections outstanding. Only negative, was that I would have appreciated more veg and mash on my plate.Ambiance inside is really nice.Must be beautiful during XMAS Holidays
Very nice restaurant and beautiful century-old building
Salmon and Potato Rosti is really good. My husband salad is good and big portion
Exceptional ambience, great food and service!
Nice place !!
If you are in SandBanks, you will love this site. The view is extraordinary! We ate very well on the terrace. My trout was excellent as well as my partners pasta.
Great outdoor seating with a terrific view. Service was good and our server was very friendly. We had the tourtiere served with garlic mashed potatoes, peas and corn. Chile sauce and a dill pickle completed the meal. The tourtiere could use more flavour, it was rather bland. Couldnt detect garlic in the potatoes and they could have been creamier. Vegetarian options: Pasta dishes and salads Parking: Plenty and closer by Kid-friendliness: Many families. Outdoor seating so kids can walk around if they want Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
Great service! Yummy food and loved the cream ale
The staff were friendly, the setting was charming with a great view. The food was tasty. Highly recommend it.
After seated, it took a good while for someone to take care of us. Our drinks also took a good while to arrive to the table even though they were served and just sitting at the bar waiting for someone to finally bring them to us. When the waitress finally went for them, she took some of the beer in a cup and poured it again in the glass to make us believe they were freshly served but that doesn t do the trick when your drink is already warm and transpired and the customer has been watching it all! Then they start bringing some food and we were left just admiring it since we didn t even had cutlery. The food was ok, no much to say on that department, but the service was so terrible that deterred me from ordering a dessert And yes getting to pay the bill also took a while.
The food was okay, one of the sides was cooked vegetables, but I got frozen corn and peas, I was expecting fresh cooked vegetables and more variety. I would say that the short ribs were good. On the other hand, the service is terrible. Its a shame that this place has all the potential to be a great place to be visited, but it is not.
Amazing food and staff Ive been here 5 times its soo good
When we passed by (very early in the morning), the place was still closed. But, this very beautiful place is still worth the detour if only for the lake and the superb view.
The View was incredible, food good and service terrible! We waited for 20 min in the hot sun for them to clear a table when there were 3 tables and it went downhill from there.
Stopped in on our honeymoon. Wonderful staff compliment the incredible food! The smoked salmon is done in house and is by far the best Ive ever had in my life. Short ribs and more, absolutely, everything that we had was fantastic. An incredible little place with an amazing view wonderful staff and outstanding food.
We really enjoyed our meals and the quaint historical atmosphere. I loved the homemade tasty pork torte and potatoes with chili sauce. Bon appetite
All meals were delish. Chicken, short rib, pasta, tourtiere all great. Service excellent. A nice spot. Would recommend.
A wonderful restaurant with a great view. I had the braised pork cheeks, my wife had the ribs, both were delicious and presented beautifully. They also have a great selection of local beer and wine, and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
Excellent
Lovely lunch. Great service.
Yum! Best beef short ribs Ive ever had in any restaurant. Beautiful location, friendly, professional staff. Do make a reservation!
10/10 do yourself a favour and make the drive, you won t be disappointed. They were short staffed and the service was phenomenal, the food is even better. Their honey whipped butter and warm bread is great table starter and the bruschetta was fresh. The braised beef was fall off the bone delicious, literally - and the rigatoni was more Italian than your next door neighbour. This is a busy spot so make sure to call ahead and book a reservation. We ll definitely be returning.
Very enjoyable evening dinner with knowledgeable, and very friendly staff.
We went for dinner on a Friday evening at 6 with reservations. Be sure to make reservations because a lot of people show up and had to come back later when a time was available. We had the Pan Seared Trout and the fresh Rigatoni. Although the Trout was sent back because it was barely room temperature, the replacement was hot and delicious. The fresh Rigatoni with spicy sausage was a new favourite for me. Dessert was cake batter baked in maple syrup with vanilla ice cream. Delicious. Service was amazing and friendly. Too bad they are closed in the winter because it would be a very cozy place to eat while a fire is going.
Love this place. Awesome food. Beautiful views
Went to the Inn on lake on the mountain for lunch on October 1st 2022. It was our first time eating there. First off the location and views were outstanding. We were seated in front of the wood burning fireplace, Ive never ate anywhere that was that cozy and homey. The experience didnt stop there we started off with 1lb of muscles in a dill and garlic sauce, then moved to the chicken liver pate and crustinos with a small bit of garden greens pickled onions and cucumbers followed by their triple smoked bacon salad with sheep cheese. All plates were fantastic. We then shared a Reuben sandwich and their world class sweet potato poutine. Ryan our server was fantastic always there when you needed him great guy. I give this restaurant a 4.9 just because they dont sell their pate in a tub to take home. I will definitely go back again. Still lots of choices I want to try. See you soon.
Parking: Close at hand.
Beautiful restaurant.!!
Great meal, great price, great server! Great place!
Excellent food and service in a special place! Worth driving out here for a meal.
I live close to Lake on the Mountain and I love that this restaurant is close to home. My only comment is that they really need to change the menu, it has been the same since I moved to the area in 2016.
Absolutely fantastic great service and good its our favorite
Wonderful food and attentive service. Great atmosphere, whether outside with a view of the lake or inside by the roaring fire during inclement weather. The best.
We had very good time! The food is excellent (burger, salmon, mussels, ice cream)c the area is nice. Really recommend the place.
Great food, view at back tables beside lake very nice
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere.
We have never stopped but the surroundings make it seem like its part of a fairytale. Im sure with the concept of an Inn style takeout, it would be spectacular. Only a short drive once off the Glenora Ferry. This looks like a must see on your next adventure.
best burger ive had in years, great service, friendly staff, priced right. cant wait to return
Beautiful setting. Food was great. Service was wonderful and very friendly.
Great food lovely service beautiful area
Ate lunch and dinner here while staying at the resort. Served by Ryan both times. Food and service were fantastic.
Did a fatastic 50 min trail ride thru the forest with my 8 year old. The horses were loved, clearly well taken care of , and the staff were all memorable characters to interact with. Worth every penny!
Great food and amazing scenery.
Beautiful lake
First visit Excellent service and food.
Kind of pricey but nice selection of wines and ciders.
Since when do you have to pay to park in the middle of no where...i seen cars with 300$ parking tickets.
I had the potato pancakes with smoked salmon. It was not remarkable, nor was the portion large by any stretch of the imagination. Ive had both their tourtiere and quiche and enjoyed that. The tip starts at 18%.
Delicious meal
We were seated outside at the start and had to wait for manager to arrive before being moved inside. Our food order took an hour to be served, the food was good but not happy with how long it took. We might have been offered a free dessert to make up for the wait.
Food is consistent. Appetizers and Mains are very good, desserts are okay. Menu is okay, but could be refreshed. Patio is good (NO indoor dining right now), but be ready for cool breezes.
Great food, reasonable prices and you cant beat that view!
Perfect location, perfect timing for nice casual lunch. We didnt wait for table. Hostess was fun & enjoyable. Our waitress was prompt & informative. We had strawberry salad & a Ceasars kale....both so delish! Mountain beer was awesome too. Thank you.. C.J.
Beautiful spot to stop just above the Glenora ferry.
We went to the Inn for dinner and we were not disappointed! The setting is great, the service is good and the food is excellent. We had the pork cheek and the ribs, it was delicious!
Beautiful little place with delicious food! Not the largest portions ever, but the flavours are on point. Felt like I was eating in France!
Great food
Enjoyed this experience very much! Felt like being in another country.
Lovely place. The patio was beautiful and breezy and cool but the wasp and bees were an annoyance. The service was great and the food was good. A touch pricey but all things considered it was a good value proposition.
Food was fabulous. Not many choices for vegetarian but they have is fantastic. Must go.
Wow, what a beautiful atmosphere with a view of the very beautiful, very colorful forest The meal was sublime
Amazing location. Friendly staff. Good food.
Great lunch. Wanted to visit before they have to close due to County Council parking issues and the fact a councilor lives nearby. I agree with the signs, Bailey should resign.
Delicious. Great service. Food was very tasty. We had the pate and sausage. All of the menu items looked fantastic. The ambiance and atmosphere was extraordinary this day. Thank you. We will be back many times over because lucky us, we are local!
abusive policy on reservations to charge a no show fee based on collecting credit card info, not even disclosed at the beginning of taking the reservation. I understand there are people that overbook places and then dont show up but that discriminates against those that in good faith make the reservation and do show up. The restaurant is taking a patronizing stand. Comments?
The views and service were great. Without a reservation, the host made every effort to put on a wait list and find a table. Our server was excellent. The Tourtière was bland, crust was over toasted, mashed potatoes runny, and peas were just boiled. They need to add some flavour or introduce some fusion. A missed opportunity. Still 4 stars for location and service.
This was a perfect location for a 3 day getaway on my own. I had a small cottage near the lake with a nice fireplace and small but efficient kitchen. Peaceful days and quiet nights...Perfect!
BEST CARROT CAKE EVER!!!!
Delicious food and perfect view
Had a wonderful dinner. Fabulous service.
Tried reserving a table but restaurant was all booked, so ordered take out 3 different dishes - chicken noodles salad, burger and smoked salmon. It was ready in 20 minutes like promised, food was great! Portions are not too big, but good for a meal. Was surprised how good was noodle salad with Thai dressing! Burger was big and juicy, and salmon came along potato patties and veggies and capers! Everyone enjoyed their meal and will definitely be back! Service was handled professionally, no lines, no wait. Thank you!
Unique and delicious food selection, cozy atmosphere and a wonderful dinner music playlist.
Excellent lunch, perfect place
I was so looking forward to the tortiere. Most disappointing.Stale and reheated and cold.Awful.Beer good.Server did not ask me how it was.Told him when I paid.Did nothing.Willnot return and not recommend.Carole
Very poor service!
Beautiful setting but the food was subpar.
Wow! What a divine dining experience. So grateful to have popped in one Tuesday evening. Without reservations they were able to accommodate us as well as my vegetarian diet. Thank you for such a delicious experience! We will definitely be back. What a beautiful location!
Great Rueben sandwich!
Amazing food and super friendly staff!
Slow service, bad drinks. restaurant manager lacks basic customer service skills.
If I could give zero stars I would. We came for our anniversary weekend and it started off on a bad note due to the poor behaviour of staff at this restaurant. Watered down lemonade and cold food to begin with. We were asked to sit out in the cold and had to wait an hour for the food, which came cold but in hot plates?? When I mentioned this and not tipped, the manager got overly aggressive and made weird comments like do you never tip ? At which point I walked away. Do not recommend
