The White Swan is not just a restaurant; it's a Christmas miracle worker! On a night filled with holiday cheer and overflowing with Christmas parties, they managed to not only accommodate me but also serve up a delicious meal. It was like Santa himself intervened to ensure my dinner plans went smoothly. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. So, if you're looking for a place to celebrate the holidays, or just a great meal, the White Swan is the place to be. They'll make your Christmas wishes come true, one plate at a time.
Great food, great atmosphere. Servers were on top of everything, which was awesome to have! They have a interestingly diverse menu, which some really neat flavour pairings you won't find anywhere else in PG. Couple of small details with the food I ordered, but nothing worth wasting lines about. Will definitely go again.
Went to White Goose Bistro the other night for dinner for the first time. We got the lobster nachos, an order of the special that day which was crab ravioli, and a cheesecake each for dessert. splitting the appy and meal was enough to fill both of us up even before dessert, and all cooked very well. The service was fast and they were very accommodating and kind, splitting each meal for us on separate plates before it hit the table for ease. I would go to White Goose again and it was a great first experience and date night. ps: I will never go back to regular cheesecake after having puff pastry wrapped cheesecake 😍
The pictures we are missing are all of our appetizers they were eaten too quickly. On a Saturday night we were just able to make a reservation for 7pm at 6pm, the fact that they were able to get us in was amazing already. We had five people one of us who is celiac. They only use one fryer so any fried food was not available to the celiac but she ate the Chicken Oscar, which has Hollandaise sauce but theirs is gluten free. The starters we had were the crab cakes, the muscles, the triple cream brie, and the seafood stuffed mushroom caps and each and every one was absolutely to die for and the portions were big. Then dinner comes, we get the Lamb Wellington, Duo of Duck, the Chicken Oscar, the squash ravioli and the Special of the night which was gnocchi with mushrooms and chicken. Each meal had big portions where no one could finish their plate and the food was outstanding, everything was hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. I was stuffed and I couldn’t even think of dessert, but then she described them and even though I didn’t think I could eat more, I continued. We got their chocolate cake with pecans and caramel sauce, a family recipe. If you like chocolate cake, you need to eat this, it’s not sweet or bitter but it’s an explosion of flavour. The second dessert? A cheese cake wrapped in philo pastry and baked again with a berry compote and whipped cream. This hands down is one of the best desserts I’ve ever consumed, I almost cried, I ate it all and made myself beyond full but it was well worth it. TLDR: Please please, if you like food, I beg of you to go here and eat, you will not regret it!
Reserved a table at White Goose Bistro as part of a graduation party and had a wonderful meal. Our appetizers were delicious and I particularly enjoyed the calimari, however the artichokes and others were delicious. For our mains we ordered duo of duck, beef wellington, and chicken strips. All meals were delicious especially the duck leg as part of the duo of duck. Dessert was their cheese cake in a pastry and crembrule which were both really good, and fresh. Everything was great here, the menu had a diverse selection of options available, and food came fast, fresh, and tasty. Would recommend this place for a special occasion, just know that this place is more expensive, for good reason, then the average restaurant in Prince George. Really great 5/5 meal.
We really liked two out of the three dishes we ordered, we're wondering if maybe there was some sort of mistake with our spinach ravioli dish, the quantity was super lacking in comparison to the other two orders (alfredo pasta and chicken parm); unsure if that's just how the dish is served? we were a bit baffled by the cost being just as expensive for essentially half the amount of food though! They all came with garlic bread and that was very good!
I ordered the seafood pasta. My family came in from out of town, and they were craving duck. We love supporting local, so we decided on White Goose. The food was amazing, as usual. Our server was great and attentive, even with how busy they were tonight. My only issue is that we reserved a spot for 6, because normally that's how many of us join my parents when they come to town. We always have 6. So, we reserved a table for 6, but as it was time to attend dinner, the others slowly bailed at the last minute, as we were already seated. We have no control over others, and after appies, one of the other servers continually and loudly kept announcing, "They reserved a table for 6, and there's only 3 of them." I can understand her frustrations, but it wasn't on purpose or controllable. It was heard all across the restaurant every time she said it (about 3x). It wasn't a good feeling to be singled out like that, especially when we fully intended to have 6 people, but ended up with 4. Other than that, the food was amazing and the service was great! I'd highly suggest going! I ordered the seafood pasta. Amazingly rich with flavor, and it's very filling.
Very good service. Wait staff has a good sense of humour and quick. Food was prepared exactly as ordered. *Update* ordered the five course meal for two with wine pairing for my spouse. Couldn't have been happier although I do wish I knew the names of the dishes and took some pictures initially. Awesome wait staff and chef made fantastic choices for us. Not cheap mind you but generally nothing great usually is lol. My only suggestion to white Goose is maybe smaller portions since I was stuffed by my forth dish

Went there for my Birthday Dinner and the food was great, the decor was really nice and the staff were very friendly. They even let my mom being in a birthday cake for me when she suprised me for my Birthday, will 100% be going back!

My Wife and I were Out on aCelebration of My Rick Stavely Song Long Haul hitting #7 on the Canadian Indie Country Charts , I went too the White Goose Bistro For Greek Night but I Saw Kung Pow Ribs , OMG So Good , Some chefs leave you and Your Taste budz in Awe = Awesome this Chef is one of Them ! THE Server = Perfect , Next time Itll be Greak Night with Baklava for dessert .

Great staff great menu!
Both me and my husband were disappointed with our meals. I had the king pao ribs and my husband had the beef wellington. It was far too expensive to be that poorly cooked. My ribs were extremely dry - like beef jerky - and his beef wellington was also extremely dried out. I didnt even eat it all it was so awful. I brought it to the servers attention and she did adjust the bill, but it was still a disappointment. We were in a larger group of people and quite a few people complained about the quality of the food. This is the first time Ive eaten here and I probably will not be going back.
This place is epic! We are lucky to have them in the area. We travel from Quesnel because they re awesome.
Amazing! 2 people ran the entire floor brilliantly, there was a woman with an octopus brain and personality. I watched her continually circle the room, checking on patrons, remembering tidbits, charming children, and bar tending wow. The food was delightful! If lived in Prince George I would make every effort to live on the jamboree, and spinach bowl! Pleasure hit! All the others enjoyed their meals. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and served beautifully. Kid-friendliness: My 3 yr old granddaughter and our friends 1 yr old were treated as important guests too. People just have to go to this place and see it to believe it.
Best food in Prince George hands down. I have never had a bad meal there and there are so. Many options. Customer service is always top notch. Cant recommend this place enough.

Excellent service and food. Cozy and quiet atmosphere on a Monday evening. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious. The food took a while to arrive, but it was cooked fresh and prepared with a lot of attention to detail. Large portions, sure to fill you up! A little pricey, but worth it for the amount of high quality food you get. This restaurant is suitable for a variety of functions, and Im happy to have discovered it. Definitely a place to go for a special occasion! Parking: Must read signs carefully when parking in the diagonal street parking spots. One spot is used for various purposes through out the day. Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs for baby, but probably not a great place to bring toddlers. Older children would do well here.

Rack of lamb and seafood pasta were absolutely delightful but unforunately the service and appetizer were lacking. The spinach dip, was served with stale chips and the main waitress was incredibly slow and had no interest. We would return if the service improved.
I completely accidently gave them a thumbs down on skip once and felt really bad because their food and service are both amazing in my opinion. White Goose is my favorite pg restaurant.

The 5 course meal is a great experience.
I recently went there for my 16th birthday, I was super excited and the reviews looked amazing. When we got there we stood in the doorway for around five minutes before someone even noticed we were there. (There was maybe two other people in the restaurant) Then finally when someone came to seat us, she pointed at a chair and said you can sit there, no greeting, nothing, super unpleasant and honestly rude. We sat down and waited another fifteen minutes before someone even took our drinks, again waited forever to even get a menu. When our appetizer finally came it was absolutely delicious. That part was incredible. But then the main course came and my food was cold, not even like warm. The other guests with us, their food was disgusting, someone clearly made too much pasta and watered down sauce so they didn t have to make more. And when we sent my food back because it was cold, I was brought back with the food stirred around, lukewarm, and all the balsamic vinegar was mixed in so that s all it tasted like. Didn t even eat it, absolutely terrible. Overall terrible experience, super disappointing, staff were rude, inconsiderate, and frankly mean. Some of the food was really good, but the rest was terrible. Not worth the price. I would not go back here even if the food was good, just based on how they treat there guests.
White Goose Bistro; been to this place twice, both times were horrible, had to send my steak back twice just to get it cooked to medium, the female server yells at you, once seated, about the items they do not have and/or the up charges, as she explained its easier to yell at three tables than one at a time; not an enjoyable experience. The first time we were outside, on the sidewalk, street people walking past screaming at us plus the exhaust fumes from the city bus going past. The patio should not be there... Totally NOT A GOOD experience...

The served food is really good and the menu offers an exquisite selection. The staff is lacking to the detriment of my experience because I always had to get their attention for anything I needed. My drinks were empty and no one noticed. I would go there again for the food but not for the service. Food

The White Goose is always excellent, consistent and delicious. A surprisingly extensive menu with something for everyone and some great options for those who want a unique experience in PG.
Still a great place to eat. Big enough serving size, fair price for the food and most importantly the food is perfect. Serving staff is on point, water at the table right away and they refill quickly. Good seating and atmosphere inside the restaurant. Parking is easy to find even if its not too close by, youll find a spot within a block easily. Wife and I have dined here around 4 times, they also provided lunch at a company meeting. All around a great place. Money well spent. Wheelchair accessibility: There is non automatic doors, but its Canada, someone can help you through double doors if you need, and level flooring in the seating areas, so its easy to get around the restaurant floor, not sure about the bathroom.

Wonderful food, great service!
We came here to celebrate our marriage (party of 4) and were extremely delighted with our meals. We ordered the 5-Course meal for $80 per person option, gave the waitress our preferences and allergies, and every dish that came out was exceptional. There was so much food, my father-in law and I got leftovers from the ladies and left very full. Cant wait to come back!

Ordered take-out of their spinach ravioli. Really did not care for this dish. Most of the cheese was on the full sprigs of rosemary which I don t think you are supposed to eat. Tasted a bit burnt and there was about 1/2 cup of oil on the bottom. Threw out most of it. No issues with the service, that was all good. I had something from here once before that was also very greasy but had wanted to give it one more try.

We had the Let the Chef Decide What to Make You meal and not only was it an excellent experience, but our server/The Owner could have taught a service and hospitality class. The White Goose Bistro is a class act and they definitely Give Back to the community. 5 Stars Plus!

Its been 3 weeks since we ate at the White Goose Bistro and I still think about the ravioli on special that I got to eat. It was delicious. Everyone from our table loved their food. The service was phenomenal. I honestly dont have a negative thing to say about the experience. It is for sure one of the gems of Prince George.
wouldn t expect less from the staff, they re so kind and helpful. the food ALWAYS tastes amazing! i ordered off of skip and i couldn t get a driver for 3 hours and they offered to remake my food and drive it to me, they didn t have to do that but they did it anyways and i deeply appreciate the staff there.
The brie and roasted garlic with toast was missing the garlic and the cheese was not hot. The house salad was missing the pecans and the duck was dry.

From out of town and was our first time eating here. We got the 5 course meal and were not disappointed. Service was good and the food was absolutely amazing, would highly recommend and will be coming again.
I discovered White Goose Bistro several years ago when on a trip to Prince George and had a fantastic tasting menu experience. Ever since that trip, this is one of my favourite restaurants in town
Food is pretty good but atmosphere wise they need to figure out what they are trying to be because there seems to be too much of a swing between casual fine dining to cafeteria style.

Excellent anniversary dinner . We were dressed up more than the staff however
1/5 at best. And I only give a 1 because the server was super nice. I ordered the saffron risotto with prawns, scallops (Ha! 3 tiny tiny scallops) and lobster. The plate was a large-ish serving, served on a tiny plate. I wouldve had to put the lobster on the table if it hadnt been for the remaining appetizer plate on the table. No room to do the chefs job with the food ie. Season and present an edible dish. The prawns, if you can call them that, came whole- - shell and head on. No butter. No butter for the lobster. Not seasoned with even the smallest amount of salt. Also over cooked and dry. No extra napkins for my hands as I had to peel the shells and break the heads off the prawns. No dish to put the disposed shells in. The risotto had the consistency of gluey mashed potatoes and porridge. No flavour at all. The bread that came with it was stale and cold and again dry and flavour-less. Do not recommend.

I came here & got the truffle pasta last night. It was mouth watering. I am lactose intolerant so I threw up after leaving the restaurant but it was so worth it and tasted just as good coming back up. 10/10 would do again.

The first time we went and had the steak and sea food it was amazing!! We went again last night for my birthday and the service was quite unprofessional. One lady kept lifting her shirt up to show everyone bug bites on her back right at the bar. The price went up $28 which we were okay with because the price of everything has gone up. Then when we got our dinner, everything was over cooked. The sauce that came food the steak tasted like nothing. Disappointing for the price and because we wanted a nicer restaurant experience but had service similar to a family restaurant.
The 5 course meal is a great experience. Perfect sized portions, good timing, just a nice way to enjoy a dinner.
As a fine dining restuarant, it isnt fine dining the food is really great but we had to reuse our cutlery for different dishes. It was an odd experience. The taste of the food did make up for all the oddness though! Tasty! Vegetarian options: There isnt a lot of variety in vegaterian options. Wheelchair accessibility: It is not wheelchair accessible, there are no ramps.

I ordered the 8 ounce rib steak. It was the worst rib steak I ever had. It was so chewy with a lot of gristle. I was visiting from out of town. Very disappointing. I was treated to the dinner by my friends. I did complain and you could see by all the grisly stuff left on my plate.
We went last night. Everyone of us (5), enjoyed our meals. The service was wonderful. We would go to this little bistro again for sure. I highly recommend.

Sat date nite. Room was so bright, all lights on max. We ordered the Seafood for 2($150.) Which was $20 increase from menu price. Waitress made excuses to justify the added price. Our food arrived cold, steak was tough. Waitress originally told us the steak was a strip loin, then she said it was ribeye. It was neither! We did not continue with the disappointing meal. We paid our bill of $213, and left! Atmosphere was horrible, food was disgusting, service was non existent! Worse experience ever had! Do not go here!
Another amazing meal at the White Goose Bistro! I frequent this restaurant, but my friend had never been. He had the salmon, shrimp and scallop special for dinner and was blown away. My tenderloin dinner was amazing as always and the service is genuine and and as good as it gets. Great job as always to Chef Ryan and his team, Fallon, Daphne and Lorenzo!!

We booked into the White Goose restaurant as part of our stop over in Prince George. It did not disappoint. It is is a jewel within the down town region of Prince George. We shared a delicious crab stuffed mushroom starter and then enjoyed lamb and salmon specials which were superb. Friendly and accommodating staff in a restaurant which is open from 5pm until it s customers decide that they are finished and it can close. Perfect!

Good lunch experience. Had Fish & Chips, with coffee. Coffee was great, Fish batter was unique and flavourful. Came with fries and green salad, the salad had a homemade drizzle.

White Goose Bistro was kind enough to host my fathers 60th Bday! They waitress was amazing, kind, and friendly smile. All our meals came out fantastic! You can tell they put time and effort into each plate. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal! We cant wait to travel back to prince george to dine in again! Thank you !

Food was good, service was okay, and the atmosphere was alright. I found the restaurant interior dated and dirty looking. Most portions were quite large although a few dishes were small by comparison. Its and okay place for okay food and okay service if a bit over priced

I never expected to find great food like this in PG. There is passion behind these dishes. My husband and I had the 5 course dinner for $70 each (they offer wine pairing for an additional $35 each) and we were so pleasantly surprised. Well make sure to come here every time we make the drive to town. Simply amazing food and perfect portions. I cant remember the names of the dishes so bare with me. Every dish in the 5 course is a surprise. 1) First dish was a puff pastry type lobster pizza. Amazing first impression. 2) A tomato based, well blended salad, 2 cheeses, balsamic dressing. I enjoyed it overall. 3) A pasta with bison meat. Another amazing dish. 4) Perfectly cooked beef tenderloin on a bed of mashed potatoes with crab and a beautiful sauce on top. The vegetables were delicious as well. 5) Chocolate cake with caramel sauce and ice cream. Seemed like a simple dish, and to be honest, Im personally not a big fan of chocolate cake, but this... This cake made me fall in love.
We went to the White Goose Bistro lastnight for an early Valentines dinner with another couple. The service was absolutely horrible, our server never checked in us for drinks, we had to request refills for drinks, silverware was thrown down on the table, our dinner was just thrown on our table. The dress code for staff should be a little more than yoga pants and leggings. When you are paying $30 plus a plate you would think the service would be outstanding. I would not reccomend this restaurant just based on service alone. The food was very good. Thank you for the delicious Seafood pasta. You would think in this day age with small businesses suffering hardship, they would make sure they were in their A game.
This is my favorite restaurant when I want to treat myself or my family. We get the 5 course chefs choice dinner and we have not been disappointed yet! We have also never had the same thing twice! Chef Ryan and his team in the kitchen work magic with food, while Fallon and her team up front make everyone feel like they are family. This is always the first place I recommend when people ask me where they should eat.

We were at a conference in Prince George and decided to try this restaurant. What a treat! Delicious, well presented, substantial portions made for a great night out. Waitresses are amazing. The chef is so talented. The ambiance is pleasant. The waitress went out of her way to fit us in.
First time there this evening for a pick up order....its awesome! The beef dip(TONS OF FRIES) and the (HUGE) and delicious carbonara. I will be back for sure.

Me and my sister went to this restaurant and ordered some appetizers from there menu. There food was delicious. We also had their cheese cake it is to die for!! So good would definitely recommend and go back.

LOBSTER NACHOS. These were some of the most delicious and most unique nachos Ive had served with salsa and a dill sauce. Afterwards we had a salmon bowl and risotto, both tasty. Excellent service from attentive and friendly staff. A must visit for a fancy date night.

This gem is located heart of PG downtown, with friendly staff, awesome vibe, and above average food. Deserve all the positive reviews. The crab cakes, and stuffed mushrooms were great, but the Roasted Leg of Lamb Wellington is a little off, maybe Lamb is not their specialty. Otherwise I would have given 5 star. Maybe I ll try other dishes next time.
Great food and service.
A bit overrated however it s possible we went in on a bad night. Table was wobbly, service was quite slow, food was sub-par. My chicken breast was freezer burnt and my scallops were way over cooked. Worth giving another try and I ll update this if the second experience is better.

Above average as described by other folks here. Most of the food was good, unfortunately I had raw puff pastry in my leg of lamb Wellington which the staff were kind enough to address. Otherwise a small and ambient establishment, definitely worth a visit.
I eat here regularly. Ive seen first hand what they can do in the kitchen, and it blows my mind every time. 11/10 would recommend!

I was very excited to come here since Ive heard great things but it just wasnt good. The service was mediocre, not that nice of a lady and the food was not tasty at all. I ordered the truffle pesto pasta and there was absolutely no flavour, extremely bland, and the chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. Also, the sauce was overflowing so the pasta was basically a soup cause they didnt reduce it properly. The fact that I spent $80 on something so bad was really upsetting. Super disappointed in this place.
We didnt make a reservation for Friday evening because were dumb, but the staff fit us in no problem and we appreciated it. The pasta special was the best I have had in my mouth in a while. Amazing menu, food and service.

Well Ive been here before for a company dinner (2 years ago) and it was amazing. Both service and food. I might have caught them on a off night this time but I dont think my experience was at the same level of their Google rating. They did get us a spot promptly which was nice since its so tough during covid. However it did take 20 mins to even take our order. The food came quickly but unfortunately our server forgot to have cutlery ready or set. I had the special which the veggies were good, but the Wellington soggy (the outer pastry) and the risotto cake had a thick hard to chew crust. My partners seafood pasta was overcooked. Both the shrimp and the pasta. This is a nice place with a higher end dining experience. The problem was is after we received the meal..... We never heard from our server again. The price is high, so my food and service need to follow suit.

The food is great and the décor is nice. They have a good selection on their menu and I found their prices to be reasonable. The restaurant has a light interior with large windows. The layout also gives the restaurant a cozy feel.

Absolutely beautiful gourmet experience in a cozy little corner of downtown PG. Perfect date night spot as there is an option for a 5 course meal and private seating. Food is amazing and fresh. Has fried pickles. Highly recommend.

We were a large group of 12 which tends to be a problem for most places. The service was excellent, but the food was average. One meal was sent back and a few came like warm. Some places can manage a large group, some cant. Unfortunately on this night the food was a fail inspite of the service being pretty darn good.
