They don’t answer their phones past 8:40pm even though they say they close at 9pm. The girls who work in the evening don’t come out to the front desk. They giggle and talk. The food is great and the owners are wonderful but the girls running things after the owners are gone have no respect for the business and No customer service skills.
where do i start...my husband and i walk in...place is dead,one other couple there. hmmm weird. so we sit and wait. we get service, nice. ok server was great...none of this review includes her. we order...egg roll, 1 each, they were great. looked forward to my meal with high expectations...how disapointing when our meals came. ok i ordered a combo meal for 1...dry garlic pork with sweet and sour on the side, chicken chow mein and veg chop suey no mush or peppers as im alergic. my plate has green peppers and the cauliflour was shaved of its rot and also on my plate and veggies were clearly not trimmed. i tell the server right away and ask for a fresh batch of veggies, she brings back my plate a few min later with same veggies, the same shaved cauloflour, and the peppers picked out. i sigh, i eat the broccoli and 1 slice of carrot. i try dry pork and dip in sweet and sour...ewww it tasted off...i try 1 more and nope something not right and it was pink, the sweet and sour that is...anyhow i try the chic chow mein...tastes rancid and smelled funny. nope not eating it...not to mention the smallest dinner for 1 i have ever had. so good and great wall have great portions for their dinner for 1. anyhow i left and did not pay for my meal. My husband ordered chic balls and chic chop suey, his balls were ok although his sweet and sour sauce was also pink he ate them..his chop suey was microwaved the center was cold edges were hot veggies had the soggy look with a small pool of liquid like water on bottom of pittiful small bowl of veggies. he did not pay for his meal either. we left after tipping the waitress and thanking her for her service...none of this was her fault, she did her job. I will never drive up the hart for that crap again. why did i go there...past experience was always good before 2020 sadly not so any more. yet another dying restraunt!
Came here on a Friday evening with a group. The atmosphere is really nice. I heard they recently remodeled. Place really looks nice. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was friendly. Ordered beef and broccoli and a shrimp curry dish. I was surprised we had to ask for rice with our order. Maybe it is a thing here. Unfortunately, it took a while to get the rice so our meal was a little cold. Overall, the experience was good.
Treated the family to take out two nights ago, preordered for pick up after work. Everything was fresh, hot and not dried out! Thanks!
I ordered a war wonton soup and a combo for 1 person. The soup was $20. Very watery and bland. Lacking flavor and meat. If it's $20 there needs to be a lot of veggies and meat. The combo for one person was #6 The serving size was TINY. I am not a big eater, But this was tiny and mushy.However there was maybe 6 pieces of tiny super chewy sweet and sour pork. 3 mushy, NOT crispy slices of almond chicken with no almonds, the chicken was mushy not crispy or deep fried like it usual is. We picked up as we were already in the parking lot waiting, so we arrived before it was ready. There are also NO prices on the website which is crazy. So we had no idea what prices we were having to pay. The overall taste of dinner was lacking and not good at all. What a total bummer considering dinner came to $47. And they wanted a 20% tip ...even though I was picking up. Really not impressed. Won't be coming back. Makes me sad considering this was the place my husband and I went to on our first date 13 years ago.
One of my favourite Chinese food restaurants! The menu offers a variety of traditional and specialty dishes. Spicy prawns and ginger beef hot pot are sure to please any palate. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. Every dish is perfectly cooked every time. The restaurant offers dine in or take out. Staff are welcoming and the owners dedication towards the local business is evident. I highly recommend trying their food and will continue to be a repeat customer given the enjoyable experiences.
I have been coming here for years. And normally the food is great, however the chowmein was very mushy almost like it’s been reheated. I phoned and asked if I could get new chowmein and give the mushy chowmein back as none of my family wants to eat it. And she told me to go somewhere else! I’m bringing the untouched food back. Not impressed. Horrible customer service.
sad to say i got delivery ,and it was cold, and not very fresh, 70.00 worth of food ,not worth it ..portions were small as well ,cant get good food in this town anywhere..save your money ..dont go or order from here ..just my honest opinion ..

Used to b one of my favorite places to eat.....Im very dissatisfied with their hours of operation....I find it very frustrating and ultimately inconvenient....no.comment on the quality of food or service as I have been away for five years and have been attempting to dine there since my return. But due to the ridiculous hours the restaurant is open, Ive been unable to do so on my two recent attempts.

The food was alright. The waitress we had was not into her job, thats what it looked like to me. The restaurant itself was well lite and quiet. Was going to leave a tip but with the way the waitress was towards me n my son I said nope. Thank them for a good meal but no tip.

Food here is very hit and miss. I have ordered from here and the food was pretty good but Ive also ordered and had the food be not fresh and/or poor quality. The prices are also pretty high considering the amount of food you get. I have tried to like this place but after the luke warm food that I was served on my most recent visit I wont be back.

The food has gone down in quality, because theyve started cheating out on their ingredients. Tiny prawns, barely there chicken in the chow mein, and no almonds in the almond chicken. Portions are noticeably smaller than on our previous visits. We wont be returning.
Asked for water she only refilled one cup had to ask again 1 min later to fill wifes cup aswell both at edge of table no tip for you

Take out food is not good value, very little food for a very large price, perhaps they could put more food in the take out containers, we had 8 items, most containers were only half filled...

Fresh vegetables, perfect chicken chow mein, deep fried shrimp were perfection, and the sweetnsour pork was yummy! I enjoyed a Cranberry Spritzer....reasonably priced...great service. Loved this restaurant, a gem of a find!!!!
I have been coming here for years and love it every time! Delicious food, very clean inside and cozy atmosphere, and staff and owners are so friendly and kind. My personal favourite is the hot and sour soup and spicy salt prawns. The hart is lucky to have this lovely restaurant. :)

Not only does Northern Palace have the best Chinese food in Prince George, but it has the friendliest service too. We have been happy customers for over two decades. Highly recommended!
Nice clean chinese restaurant up in Hart area. Great quality food and moderate variety, price a bit high compared to other venues in town. Biggest issue is delivery. Ordering by phone or just calling in general is very inconsistent, and store hours can vary without notice leading to also not being able to contact them.
Disgusting, overpriced food. Hard to get anything resembling service on the phone. Dine in not anybetter. Almost seems they have more than 1 level of service if you look at the other reviews. Roll the dice. Hope youre lucky
60 dollars delivered for a dinner for two and wonton soup.. seems a bit pricey

This place is an absolute joke. How can you guys charge so much for such little food. Not only that , its not even that good. Im happy I price checked everything. No wonder your prices arent on the menu, no one would call you.

Good food but wish I would have known the prices before ordering. Submitting this review to include the current menu/pricing as of February 2021.
Small portion... not really afan of the massive chunks of bell pepper, as Im allergic, but it was a first time. Ordered a 3A and the pork was nice and soft but honestly the price is so high for so little food. Paid 53.10 and tip added on, but not sure if its worth the portions. This looks like the portions for a dinner for 2 rather than a family of 3.

we ordered a dinner for six got it home and was missing the beef chop suey but should probably be grateful after reading other reviews and seeing someone got a portion of a fish head. The portions were very small and only received 4 egg rolls instead of 6. Get your act together!

Everyone always raves about this place but I am disappointed everytime , will not accommodate Beef and Broccoli in the combo for one ... possibly other items , so weird to me ... I also feel like they dont care about the small customers, food is much better quality when you place a big order . My combo for 1 is always old crusty scrapes , overpriced. I support the Hart wheel in . I can have my combo anyway I like hot and fresh for half the price

Hands down the best Chinese food in PG. Owners are very friendly, portions are huge, service either in the restaurant or take-out is exceptional.
Always ordered from here in the past..seemed like it was going downhill lately. Then tonight, Just found a long black hair embedded in my chicken ball! Clearly no hair nets being used here. So grossed out right now. Will take a long time to get over that hair, ugh obviously will never order from here again! Blah!!!
I m 2 Kim s from this restaurant and they wanted $12 for delivery yesterday. Won t be ordering from this place at a 30% delivery charge.

Wasnt enough food to feed 3 people. Thought it was a mistake so called next day and the guy told me it was my tough luck. The 3B Dinner doesnt mean that its enough food for 3 people. Not responsible at all and the Bill was $68.56. I ordered frequently and often ate in several times weekly. That will never happen again

Found a fish head in the beef chop suey........ check the pictures Called them that day and talked to a Chinese guy and he said he had put a note/credit on the account. Just to find out he was just blowing us off two weeks later.
Good chinese food. Lots of space for big family
Stopped on the way home to get take out from the buffet table. It was just okay. The wonton soup was a bit flavorless. The selection werent great, and the chop suey(I think) had a real fishy taste. It it filled the hole, on a night we didnt feel like cooking. If we went back we would eat in as likely the selections would be better as they refill the buffet.
Weve been in PG 418yrs & found that when U find quality U can stop searching. Y the prices have gone up but the quality did NOT go down! Just remember we get ? We pay 4 . This restaurant is worth the minor up tick in price.
Very good Canadian Chinese food
Best Food in all of Prince George BC. Great Service. Superior take out food, as well. Its a win win every time. Sometimes if you see a poor review, but the worst review is an extreme minority; my longest wait is still a better experience than any other restaurant. Thanks Northern Palace, 19 years of uninterrupted great customer service experiences.

Didnt smell like a place I wanted to eat in. Didnt see anyone eating Chinese food when I went in to order take out. Only saw fried food being eaten. No one greeted me when I came in the door and stood at the front counter for a good 5 mins. Will not return there.
Have eaten at this restaurant for many years...food has always been hot, fresh quick & good. Have never been disappointed here ; this restaurant is our first choice for family/friend dinners out. The selection covers typical Canadian Chinese dishes. Service is friendly, the restaurant atmosphere is inviting & always clean & they are very good with young children.

Decent food most of the time but terribly managed!
Ordered food from here they messed my order up manager was not very helpful at all... made me pay more for them messing up my order. Then I had to pay more money when they brought my right order not impressed at all. Zero respect from who ever was on the other end of the phone.
Used to love the food but unfortunately I got food poisoning the last 2 times I ate there and wont ever again, I would try it again but cant afford 2 days of being sick from the food.

Quick delivery of cold / luke warm food. The taste is ok. The last two orders have been this way if you want quick delivery and Luke warm food, this is the place.
Best Chinese
The food is always delicious and if it is delivered to you it will be on your table in no time at all. As for the price its well worth it because you get a lot of food. Just try it you wont regret it.

Hidden gem. Beautiful staff. Our server was incredible. Young lady who served up the freshest meals took the time to answer all our questions and make spot on recomedations. She gave us a northern palace history lesson as we ate. They have been around for decades, I can see why. I wont be driving past this restaurant anymore in my travels north.
The food is always hot and fresh here, my only suggestion would be increased menu options.
Are they still open? Usually go with someplace else for dinner as I can never get a hold of them.

Ive eaten here before and it was always good.but tonight the egg rolls were overcooked and greasy, as was the almond chicken like it was old and refried. The honey garlic pork that is usually tender and delicious again overcooked dried out and disgusting. I will give them one more shot but if the pattern continues Ill pay elsewhere.

Good decor and good service but over priced for what you get. Food quality is reasonable. The manager handles customers concern poorly in many occasions. Take out time line is OK for the most part but waited for over 45mins once without explanation or apology. HE WAS RUDE.
Restaurant is always clean, helpings are large and the food is good. Its our first choice for a Chinese Restaurant.
The restaurant is lovely but the food, sadly, does not match the decor. I have never eaten sweet and sour pork worse than at this restaurant...its hard to describe...tasteless...if it was pork, it was really poor quality pork. The portions are small, the cooking and seasoning average at best...very disappointing....I wonder where the cooks trained to cook...maybe its time for some extra lessons.
I have never been treated worse as an employee than by this establishment. They stole from the waitresses, overworked us and underpaid us. We were never given breaks and were treated as though we were not deserving of their time. They take advantage of young women. The tip out was never equally split among the bussers and waitresses and other employees, instead it went straight to the kitchen, managers and owners. They are extremely rude to their customers as well, if someone has a valid complaint they will not discount you at all or treat you properly. Instead they act as though it is your fault. One time a customer called in a complaint and the manager gave me the phone and tried to make me deal with it. I worked as a busser at the time. It is a managers job to deal with complaints NOT an employees. They overcharge their customers for a small amount of food which isnt even fresh most of the time. I would never suggest eating at this place or working here ever.
This restaurant is not fiendly. No consideration for dietary needs. Do not eat here. Over priced, small portions and the owner is a jerk! The Hart desperately needs a quality restaurant.
