I had a terrible experience. They gave me the total of the food and then it was different at the door. I had cash I told them. So I would literally have to walk across the street to get another 20$ for the 1$ i owed and would have given him the other 19$. Instead he already took my 50$ and he took the food away and left without leaving me any of the food I ordered but still had my 50$. Karma is a funny thing and I hope he gets it i have pictures of your car and ur license plate. Can't believe u would do that after waiting way too long as it was already cold 1.5 hours after I ordered. Never order from this place again 1st and last time
Excellent food and service. Our server, Navjul, was friendly, efficient and professional. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
This is the best Indian I have had in Prince George. The dishes I usually order are the butter chicken and the lamb vindaloo. I would rate this place a 5 but I'm pretty sure that the protein in lamb vindaloo is BEEF not lamb. I think they use beef because it is cheaper than lamb thinking that people won't be able to tell the difference. Lamb has a very unique flavor and this does not taste like lamb. I won't be ordering the lamb vindaloo anymore knowing that I am not getting what I am paying for. The heat level is also a hit and miss sometimes. When I order my butter chicken hot it usually comes mild.
Delicious, well priced food. Generous portions as well. Very friendly staff. Had the veg pakora and chicken tikka for appies. Butter chicken with saffron rice and roti for our main. The chai was superb! Will definitely return.
Fantastic meal. The food was delicious, well portioned, flavourful, and fast out of the kitchen. The service was attentive, smiling, and accommodating. Will absolutely visit again!
Ordered pickup. Ready in 25 min. First time ordering from here, we found the dishes to have much more flavour and veggie/meat content then from previous (3) restaurants we’ve used. Definitely using again.
Never going to order from here. This is the third time I have found hair in your food. Number of times gave a call to store and requested call from owner or manager but no one gave me call back and then they put my call on hold for 15 mins and no response so I hang up. Went to store today and took my money back, they did not apologize for the inconvenience at all. Never going to place order from here and I hope this disgusting thing won’t happen to anyone especially when you are eating late and all Indian restaurants are closed in town. Taking my business to Karahi king
THANK YOU VERY MUCH JASMINE FOR FAST SERVICE! Canada's finest rendition of authentic Indian cuisine! Grateful for the delectable flavors. Thank you for the delightful meal!
Loved it
Good quality and excellent quantity of food. Very delicious. Food
Very nice food
food was great, our waitress was super helpful and was very kind
You guys need to work on ur mango shake...waste of money yakkkkk
Less than mediocre quality of food. Not necessarily fresh all the time. Gave this place three chances and quality was bad every time. Not recommended!
Food was delicious and nice service by jaspreet
We came today for dine-in. Server Jaspreet did a great job. We are really impressed by her service. Food
Excellent quality of food
Spice of life- best Indian food taste in Prince George. Must try their Paneer tikka masala with garlic naan. Dahi bhalla - very delicious(5/5 ) Soya chaap - very well cooked and delicious taste. Vegetarian options: For vegetarians best thing is that they use separate oil for non veg dishes :)
Not very kid friendly...(no highchair or boosters) Also, our waitress hardly spoke to us, and also couldnt seem to understand what we were saying? Language barrier is not ideal as we wanted to try new menu items, but she had no clue what we were saying and just walked away. Probably wont return, as it seems there are much better places to go to with Indian food. Wish we wouldnt have even bothered!
Portions are all rice, very little vegetables or meat. The waitress for the 2nd time unfortunately got the orders incorrect. Mixed up the level of spiceiness for the dishes. Calm atmosphere:) Vegetarian options: Average. Portions are all rice, very little vegetables!!
Me and my hubby had dine in at this place today. Their services are wonderful. Staffs are very welcoming, especially Mehak who was so attentive and accommodating. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and we will definitely try it again.
Unbelievably good, perhaps some of the best Indian food Ive ever had. Great for vegans as well. Prices very reasonable. We eat here every time were in PG. The Eggplant Bharta is incredible.
Food
Delicious food and great customer service.
Best food. Very rare indian restaurants have the quality food in Canada. As I am from the hotel industry too so I know what to expect from a good restaurant. I tried their tandoori chicken and goat methi. Both the dishes were amazing. Really recommend this restaurant if you want to have great indian food.
Thank you so much for the best service and the best quality food
Great food and excellent service
Mehak was excellent at what she was doing with the service and food. Gentle, polite, innocnet and honest lady. Food was great too as asual but it was delayed a bit this time. I hope the food came earlier but rest everything was up to the mark. Loved It
Today we ordered dal makhni and chapatis. Tast was very bad and too much costly literally it was wastage of money.
Found 2 dead mice in a sticky mouse trap in dining room. They must have been there a while since this traps dont actually kill the mice.
Good food and excellent service by Mehak.
Thank you for being amazing!!
Vegetarian options: We ordered raita and it was having unbearable salt worst I ever had from spice of life
I ordered butter chicken, 1 aloo naan and tandoori roti. Trust me the food was so bad that it went straight to the trashcan. The Chef at Spice of Life doesnt have a single clue how to cook. Butter chicken was so unbearably sweet, as if the chef has put all the kitchens sugar in it. The tandoori roti and naan was so oily and burnt from one side. Never waste your money in this restaurant. Worst Indian food restaurant in PG.
Very nice food. However, sometimes, I find the meat a little bit dry. Resturants set temp a bit cold for the winter. Have a jacket and enjoy.
Excellent food and service. Will be our go to for Indian food in Prince George.
I have ordered dahin bhalla and its looks soo yummy as well as very very tasty. The mango shake i have ordered is Soo delicious i even cant say in words. The service are just amazing . I will recommend everyone to place order from there or go spice of life . Thank you for the delicious shake and yumy yumy dahin bhalla
Yes. Do. It.
Succulent food.
Poor service. Me and my friends thought let s give them a try. We ordered aloo gobi, dal makhni, lacha pratha and 3 raita. The portion of raita is 3x smaller than before. Aloo gobi wasn t even cooked properly and lacha parantha were partially cooked. Don t go there it s waste of money and your precious time.
Very good staff
Very delicious
The food was good and the staff was very welcoming and warm. We visited them a couple of times. They always do a nice job. Constantly delicious. Thanks for your services. We had a great experience.
Eggplant Bharta is my favourite. I order almost every two weeks. Both from door dash and pick up. Big portions. Best place in town for sure.
Im not sure what some people are thinking! This indian food is spot on ! I had the non- vegetarian appy. 2 pieces of fish 2 chicken 2 meat samosa . The food came out piping hot and the fish and chicken pakora were so so tender and juicy. The meat samosa was hot and fairly tasty with the tamarind sauce added . Middle of the road for the samosas but still worth ordering for sure ! Dietary restrictions: Dishes can be prepared for dietary needs.ample parking as its not a super busy place . Not yet !!! Parking: 15 + parking spots
They dont ever have a delivery driver, who delivers with no delivery driver
My favourite place to eat. Its been 5 mo ths in Canada and I never order food from anywhere else except spice of life. Amazing food.
amazing food and service!
Unbelievably good food! Delicious, best egg plant bartha Ive ever had :)
Ordered there got the lamb vindaloo so good mmmn
TL;DR - mediocre at best, but this may be the best PG has to offer; I wouldnt come back here or recommend it. Food - started with a fried potato patty with various sauces and yogurt. Very interesting dish and I would buy it again... maybe not here, the patty was cold (like it was frozen) in the middle! Ordered extra spicy butter chicken - decent, nothing to say about this (ok, not good not bad). Ordered coconut curry. Was on the lower end of a coconut curry dish and despite my eagerness to show my cousin one of my favorite dishes, I had to apologize about the dissatisfaction of the quality of this dish. Tried getting extra vegetables and there was no way I was able to get vegetables in this dish or on the side. Very frustrating. Was not a money issue. Saffron rice was ok, was dry so assuming the rice was fairly old but was tasted ok outside the dry old rice. Ordered this spicy rice that has vegetables in it. Ive never had a dish so spicy hot in decades! (I can easily eat high quality habanero sauce without issue). Despite the heat, Im going to say this was the best dish here. Cant remember what it was called. But it was insane hot, like it should have a warning beside it lol. Potato Naan was good but not very spicy despite claim of spice. Service and the ladies did a great job or best they could minus the vegetables. Seats were hard and uncomfortable and kind of bland inside. Music was great! Prices were standard for this type of menu.
My fav!!!! Always incredibly fresh and delicious!!!!
It was a mixed bag. The food wasn t the way I wanted it. The cook decided to argue that was how it was supposed to be. Even if I m wrong, I would have liked an attempt to accommodate me.
Excellent food! Great portions, delicious food, and a good price. Some of the best Indian cuisine I ve had! Would recommend if you re looking for options in Prince George. The biryani was delicious, as were the samosa s.
The Best food ever. I have never eaten better chicken tikka masala
Really terrible service. The people working there are really bad at whatever they r doing . I decided not to post it for one minute then I went through the review and found that whoever the chef or whoever takes the call decides to argue and doesn t like satisfying the customers but just like to talk about how the food was made and how the customer is wrong . Really terrible at their service I would never encourage anyone to order from this place.
Clean place but food was not good. Will not waste my money again on them
Wish i took picture absolutely amazing some of the best i have ever had and i love this food will definitely be my go to in dawson
Worst place ever. I ordered food for pickup delivery and they gave incorrect order and when I called in restaurant and the guy started arguing saying that was the you placed it s not our mistake. So, I will recommend to try any other place because this is not at all good place to order your food your money will be wasted.
Atmosphere 1/10 Food 0/10 Service 2/10 Presentation 0/10 Not gonna go there again.. worst bhature chole ever
Havent ordered from here in quite awhile, was always good food and decent price. Ordered for the first time in 6 months and awesome food still. Delivery isnt the cheapest but fuel isnt either.
Best Palak paneer in all of Prince George. Highly recommend. Lovely staff.
Best Indian Restaurant in Canada, for sure. Amazing flavours. A must try!
We got take out for chicken tikka masala, aloo tikki, and garlic naan...we got home and see no rice. Called them and they said you have to order it separately. We eat Indian food often (in many different places) and have never had that be the case. Rice always comes with main dishes like tikka chicken masala. Its quite disappointing to get home and not have the meal you thought you ordered. The food was very good, but I suggest the restaurant make it very well known online that you have to order rice separately for dishes that are typically eaten with rice. We are traveling through the area so couldnt make rice ourselves at home and didnt have the time to go back for rice.
Ordered Samasos for my brothers birthday. Cost was $30 for dozen samosas so I am expecting some nice home style samosas but was very disappointed the dough was old and the filling was terrible. Did not enjoy at all would not recommend to anyone.
Stop stop stop if you re going to this Restaurant plz don t go because This Restaurant food is disgusting and Too much spicy if you ordered then Believe me Your Money and Time is WASTE
we just had dinner at spice of life. we tried this restaurant for first time. we ordered aloo tikki paneer tikka along with some main course also and I must say this place is the hidden gem of prince george. Everything was top notch in terms of food presentation, flavours and taste. We literally realized that we are having food in india. Service by jasmine and Mehak was also great. They are very polite and sweet.. Thank you girls.. Thanks to the chef who made our food.
Came to prince george on business. Was pleasantly suprised to find this little gem. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful food, beautifully seasoned, very generous portions, reasonably priced. Will certainly be back. Vegetarian options: Lots of marvellous plant-based and paneer options. Looking forward to exploring the menu.
Had a wonderful meal here with friends. We eat out at India restaurants often and found the food very good. Everything appeared and tasted fresh. Excellent flavors. Food was served hot. Server was warm and friendly and help with some of our choices. Pricing was reasonable. Would not hesitate to eat here again.
Absolutely out of this world service and food. Place smells amazing when you walk in, really clean. Takes a bit longer for orders in this pandemic with labour shortages but WELL WORTH THE WAIT. Family run locally owned support local.
Love it
Awesome food and service!! If ordering out it s a bit slow. Just Plan for it
Love this place - best ethnic food of its kind in PG. Sure wish they are open for lunch hours again!!!!
I gave a 3 star rating even though I *want* to give a 5 star rating. This is my favourite Indian food in town hands down, but I am continually disappointed with unrealistic wait times being served in the restaurant and pick up times. Last time I ate in I was there for over 2 hours and watched every other table get served food, and watched skip the dish and door dash drivers flood through the doors. Im on treatment and I was almost fainting with hunger and had to take my meds within a certain time frame so I ended up leaving because I needed food. I didn t go there for a very long time because it saddened me. I recently ordered for pickup and was given an hour wait time- the wait time was closer to two hours. Do not order from here if you are hungry, or order way before your dinner time. I feel like more priority should be given to actual customers eating in the restaurant and picking up vs skip the dish or door dash. They can t keep up with demand. The food is 5 stars, time management 1 star :(
I am big food lover . I tried all Indian restaurants in Prince George. But they are the best. Their all dishes tastes amazing.Best Dal makhni in town.
I order delivery from here every time I m craving Indian food and it has never disappointed! The butter chicken is so delicious and makes great for left overs aswell.
Excellent food, excellent service. A solid recommendation if youre in the mood for Indian food. Edit: The family that runs this restaurant is absolutely wonderful. Theyre always kind and have made accommodations for food allergies for my partner. Theyre always my first choice.
Best Indian food in all of Prince George and the staff is super kind.
Who has food orders without side of rice for that much $$$...
Just tried this place for the first time - ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka - the food is amazing. Im very impressed!
Delicious food
Chicken pakora is really good
Great service
Most delicious food, with very attentive service, served very promptly.
Had goat biriyani and butter chicken from there. It was just delicious! Butter chicken was creamy and mouth watering! Biriyani served was very satisfying quantity and yummy! Highly recommend it !
Paneer pakora was not fresh and was hard to chew :!
Food quality is not consistent
I cant even wait until Im done my plate to give this 5 stars! Very flavorful! The chicken biryani and the chicken goa curry are amazing! Vegetarian appie combo crisp and delicious and it was delivered!
Good South Asian food. Wide menu, great server!
Absolute best Indian food in Prince George. So flavourful and great portions!
Good food here, good service
Didn t get the order right which was okay but then both of us were sick right after.
Delicious food. Prompt and friendly service. The BEST garlic naan bread Ive ever had.
Excellent beef Biryani made for me.Lovely garlic naan.I will surely come back.
Ordered beef biriyani. Beef and rice is too dry tasteless.i saw few good reviews from facebook. disappointed
The best Indian food in PG. Excellent menu options, great service.
I went several time to spice of life . Always had wonderful Expereince with this restaurant. Never disappointed me. Always had quick and good service. Food is always delicious. One should try once. Server girl is always awesome. 10 out of 10. Thank you for amazing service and food.
My favourite Indian restaurant in town! I wont order from anywhere else if I can help it!
I went there on my friends recommendation and the reviews i read online about the food but as soon as i entered, i was about to fall down because of the slippery floors and second the dull ambiance killed my all of expectations. So, i left right away. If they wouls work on their ambience., i would love to come back Thank you
I tried this place for the first time last night and I was thrilled. The Butter Chicken was very flavorful and had exactly the right amount of spiciness (I ordered it hot.) The Vegetable Pakora was a big enough portion to share with a 2nd person. I forgot to order rice, and the kind lady who likely realized it was my first experience there gave me complimentary rice so I would enjoy my meal more. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and fast. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Get the biryani, ask for very spicy! Eat the leftovers cold for lunch the next day, it s even better! I love this place and the staff are great.
I have been on the search for the Best Saag Paneer in town, and I have finally found it! Really delicious! Absolutely recommend!
Only Sri Lankan restaurant in town, nice and fresh.
Great food. Super nice staff. Expect food to be ready 20 minutes later then they say tho.
Beyond amazing service. Every. Single. Time. Placed a take out order online which was a seamless experience but was not sure if their tandoori paste had garlic (as Im allergic). I had to call to make sure and originally they told me all of their pastes were made with garlic and so I decided to cancel my order. Not 4 minutes later they phoned me back saying they would be able to accommodate a garlic-less paste for my chicken tikka. Ive always been very happy with their service but somehow, some way the next time we order the service is EVEN BETTER! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Oh and the food is to die for, definitely cant leave that out!
Great Indian food and the lady who runs the place is super nice
I Love Indian food and this place is authentic, delicious Indian food, very friendly staff, highly recommended!
Good taste.. Especially Dal Makhni
My wife and I are from the Valley. The first thing we looked for was a good Indian restaurant. Spice of Life is the best Indian food in Prince George. The butter chicken, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, and samosas are fantastic. I highly recommend this place.
Nice small restaurant. Food was delicious.
Big fan of the butter chicken
We were in the parking lot and a delicious aroma hit our noses. My wife and I said at the same time were is that coming from. We found it and went in to eat We have tried other South Asian Restaurants in Prince George this was by far the best !! We had Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Pakoras with Naan Bread. WE WILL GO THERE EVERYTHING TIME WE GET TO P.G
Wow affordable authentic and super delicious Indian food. Just moved from Edmonton but have never tasted such flavor with properly balanced spices in edmonton or calgary. All gravies have richness yet unique flavor.
Great food at a reasonable price. Havent had a bad dish from the spice of life. Family run atmosphere, very caring and friendly staff. If your looking for great Indian food dont hesitate just call.
The cooks in this kitchen are so gifted. Everything I have tasted from this place is incredible- but the mattar paneer is otherworldly delicious. I ve thought about it almost every day since the first time that I tried it. If I had to choose my last meal on this earth, it would be mattar paneer on saffron rice from Spice of Life. Prince George is so lucky to have culinary talent like this.
Good food. A table of 9 was a little big for having all food come out together. Naan bread is the best here.
I tried Spice of Life for the first time and I Love it. Perfect amount of spices and quantity. Great customer service. Must go and check out variety of food items out there.
Excellent service by staff and food is so fresh and tasty
Excellent food and great service. This will be my go to place now. Edit: I was recommended the goat curry, I have never had it before but it was amazing. The gentleman at the front was so very friendly that I felt like I was a guest and not a customer.
Very reasonable pricing. Quick, friendly service with a nice atmosphere. Food was very tasty!
We sure enjoy our dinners, especially butter chicken & lamb curry meals
Excellent Service and Delicious food!
following the scent...I wandered in the door, asked for 2 samosas. I was told 5 to 7 minutes to wait, got home and devoured them with the wife. they were so yummy
I was not there so I can not really say how the food is there
Best indian food in prince georege, been coming here for years, tonight i had a craving for Pauls cooking so i just picked up chicken tikka masala with nann bread and veggie pakora, hands down delicious i would recomend going here whenever youre in the mood for indian food.
Very good Indian cuisine.
Pretty good food, and great portions. Guess you get what you pay for. Havnt tried every place in town to compare, but this is where I usually get take-out of this variety.
We ordered Mango lassi and chocolate milk shake with our food. The mango lassi was sour and taste like mango flavour in water only and I think chocolate milk is thick then Chocolate milk shake of Spice of Life. Worst experience ever.
Not bad
Great flavours
Best Indian food in Prince George and best Ive had in BC. Murg Malai Tikka is one of the best things I ever ate. I love the Aloo Gobi. Saffron rice is amazing. The dishes are NOT salty like most other places. I just cant get enough. Also my toddlers love it
The food is honestly delicious but the wait times are crazy. I have waited over an hour for pick-up orders and tonight when after placing my order 45 minutes they phoned to tell me they didnt have ingredients for the order. I cancelled and ordered from Madras instead
Food is very good. Had the butter chicken and naan. Very delicious and nice lady brought to me with driver in college heights no problem on one of my previous orders. Friendly and food was nice and hot. I always order from here!
Very friendly staff. They let me park my jeep there over night. Their assistance and professionalism is greatly appreciated and will be returning again with friends and family for some great food! :)
English Language
Food is delicious, best place to go if you love indian food. Staff is very generous and customer service is top notch.
Had one of the most delicious Indian meals of my life. Fantastic quality, great naan, super service :) COVID friendly
Absolutely fabulous food, we ordered last night and every thing was so fresh and amazing flavors
Come here for the best aloo tikki in BC! Perfect flavors and taste.
Best alloo tiki i ever had..
Very very good food.
Super yummy!
the food is good but the service is so poor, instead of apologize they will blame you if the order is not right, very poor customer service and satisfaction, the girl who takes my order argue that I only order 1 instead of 2, everytime I order i repeat my order, then she wants me to wait for another 1 1/2 hours for the mistake, if you want more sales improve your service, make sure that the customers taken care of nicely, now some of my friends will look for some other restaurants, thanks to that girl,
Good quality but very expensive food
Amazing food and amazing customer service Not going to lie, best indian tasting food I ve had ina long time I had their Karai Paneer and it was so yummy and delicious, very tasty 10/0
Great people, great cab driver, awesome Food! Well be there again soon!
Great food, nice people
Great service, awesome food.
Good service
Hands down my favourite Indian place in town. Butter chicken and aloo gobi are always on point. BUT.... they are always consistently late at least 15 -30 min behind pick up time so I end up waiting. Happened several times. Really need to give customers realistic pick up times!
Absolute best Indian food PG has to offer
Good indian food. I was satisfied. The service was also good.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants!
Food was awesome!!! Huge portions, very friendly accommodating staff. They also ask you how spicy you like your food and you can even go inbetween spice levels. We had the butter chicken, samosas, aloo tikki(which was FANTASTIC, def wished I ordered more lol) and another chicken dish with a cashew sauce. Everything was great and would go back again.
This food is amazing
Best butter chicken Ive ever had in my life.
Very authentic Indian food. Great experience.
Excellent food. Friendly staff
We visited this place owned by Mr Sharma twice. The food preparation is excellent, all spice used in cooking are made in-house by team led by Mr Sharma. Both occasion we found the quality of food, excellent.Do visit this place for authentic Indian food.
Amazing! Butter chicken is delish, and service is impeccable! Our server (younger man) was extremely helpful and friendly, even if the food was gross I would probably go back just for the service! Thank you again!
Best food ever. Waiter was a lot of fun and very friendly
Great food and service! Highly recommended
Delicious food and great service. Large portion sizes and good prices. I found my new lunch spot in prince George for sure
Good service
Delicious food and outstanding service. This was our kids first Indian restaurant which turned out to be a huge hit. Well be back soon.
Slow service. Not that much tasty as I expected.
I didnt like food very slow service and not clean.
Buffet is good chicken tikka is very good
Great food in very comfy environment. Best Indian food in P.G.
Nice food
Spice of Life is hands down the best Indian food in town, highly recommend the vegetable korma or chana masala! Service is good and staff is friendly..plus they have an awesome room for renting to have parties :)
Sooooo good. Staff was lovely, food was aweeeesome! Thank you, thank you
Great food, best in the north
Food not as good since the ownership split
We always have an amazing experience of great food and service at Spice of Life . Generally all there dishes are bang on taste, presentation and portion however my personal favorite is the Butter Chicken and Methi Chicken, though Methi Chicken isn t on the menu the staff at Spice of Life is always willing to customize dishes for you. All in all great food, great service at affordable Price. Way to go Spice of Life! You guys are the best in Town...
Best Indian food in Prince George with great service and affordable prices
One star rest..
Ordered for our staff lunch. Tasted great, arrived on time and was hot. Reasonably priced. Great people to deal with.
