6555 John Hart Hwy, Prince George, BC V2K 3A4, Canada
We've been to this restaurant three or four times now, everytime has been lovely. Food is always quick and hot, with a solid variety of options. The service is always very good and friendly. The appearance is very calm casual, making it a comfy place to be. Including good music thats not too loud to enjoy a meal over. We consider this a go to place:)
As an experienced bartender and server, I was excited to see this restaurant open in my community. Because they were constantly posting jobs on Indeed I applied for a job there on a regular basis. This complaint is not because I didn't get hired ; it's about what I went through trying to get a job here, and how unfairly I was treated. And by unfairly, I mean violations of employment standards and human rights laws. The fifth time I applied for work, Queen of Harts required Proserve as a requirement of employment. So I spent money and five hours taking this course online . I wasted money and five hours of my time before I realized that the course content was completely irrelevant to the position I was applying for. In fact, the Proserve course is offered by the Alberta Gaming and Li encing Commission. It is not required in BC, and in fact the qualifications I had - foodsafe and serving it right qualified me to work in BC in this position. I phoned the restaurant and spoke to their usual daytime waitress who had Dallas call me. He said he was one of the owners and if he had gone through what i had to try and get a job he would be "pissed right off". He blamed it on his wife, and said she did all the hiring. He mentioned that they had three restaurants and always had trouble finding staff. He promised he would call me back and explain why his restaurant in BC was expecting requirements from AB. He never called me back. In closing, I have the right to apply for jobs that are posted in BC and I have the right to be considered if my qualifications meet the job. Although I followed up my resumes with in person visits, the waitress working dayshifts would not allow me to speak to management. Please understand, this review is NOT ABOUT me not getting a job here. In fact. after this experience I would never consider being an employee or a customer at any of Dakota's three restaurants. This review is about ethics, honesty and how people treat people looking for work. I have already found employment with a better company. So dear public. when you read the contrived reviews and posts about this restaurant, give it a second thought. It's one thing to cook some decent food once in a while....but what really matters is how we as human beings treat each other on a day to day basis. You have lots of choices about where to spend your money. How would you feel if your son or daughter or sister had this experience??? All I wanted was a job and I was lied to and taken advantage of financially. Beware.
These pictures are of their "I want it all" breakfast. I got mine with pancakes, but you can order yours with toast if you'd like. The service was great! The lady with short, blonde hair was amazing! She was very welcoming and attentive. The food was good! The atmosphere was nice! We will definitely dine in more often. It's nice to have a breakfast place up in The Hart!
Friendly staff, amazing food, fantastic service! We love it here! Definitely some of the best gravy in town! Had their special tonight which was a nice pork cutlet, mashed potatoes, cooked veggies, and pita! The cutlet came with I believe a mushroom gravy and it had sautéed onions. I ordered a side of their gravy for the mashed potatoes. Everything was so good and steaming hot!
Great location with lots of parking. Restaurant was half full when we walked in. We recieved friendly welcoming service and seating right away as we walked in the door. Food was presented and flavored well. We were well tended to during our time at the restaurant :)
Fine dining on the Hart. Nice place to have a drink. Excellent spaghetti and lasagna. Steak an more!
Had myself the Southwest Chick Wrap and let me tell you, it was hands down the best wrap I have ever had in my life! The portion was massive and I barely had room for the wicked fries! The gravy was amazing. The coffee was amazing. The music was amazing. I cannot say enough about how good it is. My bill was fair and the tip was well earned!!! I came in on a Monday afternoon for lunch and the place was empty therefore it was quiet and my food came very quickly. But in reality, had it been slammed, the food would still be well worth any wait you might face at peak time. Since I am in town for a couple more weeks, I will definitely make this place my number one for dining! Please note: you get a full wrap I just didn’t think to take a photo until after I shovelled the first half in.
Went to queen of harts with my grandmother, it was JAM packed and huge. I'm fat and finished mine but am slightly needing to be rolled out of here. Grandma could only finish half. Best breakfast either of us have had in a VERY long time. This is called the queen breakfast bowl. The hart NEEDED this and they provided! Will be coming back before I head back to alberta to try a lunch/dinner selection!!!
Great place to get a tasty, quick dinner! Fast, friendly environment. 100% recommend this restaurant!
Very friendly staff and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. Would recomed this place to anyone
Bacon and Cheddar burger was fantastic. Reminds me of when it was Arnolds.
Waitress was very rude and she lied about asking us twice about how the food was when we complained about the nasty lasagna. We will never eat there ever again and advise nobody else to. So gross and rude.
Great food and service. Love this little place.
The staff and owner are amazing. The food is always wonderful. I always feel like family when I enter the restaurant.
2nd 24/09/14 Update One of the owners has reached out to me, and offered a satisfactory solution to aforementioned issues. I look forward to possibly patronizing this establishment if some changes are made. I will update my review as needed. Updated 24/09/14 I am going to leave my original comments, but have downgraded stars from 5 across the board to 3 on food and 2 on service. I also will leave at 3 on atmosphere. They waitresses are always friendly albeit, not as helpful as they used to be. I have given them the three strikes you are out idealogy. Last night was strike three. I have noticed a recent drop in quality and increase in price over our last three take out orders. I have always contacted them immediately upon finding the multiple mistakes. The waitresses that answer are always apologetic, stating they will have the owners call me. I still have not received a call back regarding the first two take out orders being wrong. Last night, as I said was strike three. Its really too bad, in the beginning they were amazing, but in my opinion they have dropped the ball... I can not recommend them anymore at this point. In this time of economic uncertainty, paying $95 to feed three people take out, and the orders are messed up..for the third time... Your out!. Excellent service with high quality food, awesome combo... our new favorite restaurant.
Excellent breakfast menu, welcoming staff, quick and friendly service
amazing fried egg sandwich!! Friendly and very clean Food : 5/5
For the first time to PG and going to a breakfast place. Queen of harts was amazing and the food was so good. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Will be a place I will always go back.
I ordered lasagna...to go...got home...2/3 full at 28 dollars...not worth the money...perhaps I didnt give a tip on a pick up...thats why I got short changed...never again...
Husband and I went there for our anniversary lunch today food was very good. I had soup an burger, husband had clubhouse. Service was also very good. I recommend Queen
This place is completely average. The food was niether good or bad. The atmosphere is plain. The service was just the minimum amount to make it not bad. If I could give 2.5 stars I would. Just right in the middle.
Took my dad for fathers day. Classic affordable restaurant. Super clean.
Amazing soups!
The server was excellent and food was great
Great food, perfect service. Very enjoyable, thank you
Was turned away after going here every weekend for months, as my 4 person group wasn t big enough for Mother s Day. Will not be coming back
Good food reasonable prices friendly staff
First time there I had an appointment but was told my Beef Dip would come with plenty of time to enjoy the lunch before my appointment. The waitress was friendly and took the time to check on me half way through. The food was good along with good service. I would go back for sure.
Short trip into town from Calgary and this was recommended to us. Awesome lunch spot, we had a great meal with awesome service.
The lady waitressing was absolutely great. I wish I could remember her name off the top of my head but very nice and went out of her way to make it a good experience for myself and other people in the restaurant
Good food, Great service.
The food and customer service was excellent.
Friendly staff and amazing food
Average mom and pop restaurant.
Perfect local spot! Good people good service (even tho it was super busy) good food good coffee. Also had crayons and coloring pages for the kid which is awesome. Lives in the hart for years and havent come here enough but will certainly be back more!
I dont normally review but this place is exceptional. Food is top notch and the service is just amazing. Fast friendly and just great. If you are in the Prince George area I suggest you try. Food
Waited almost. An hour was not busy in there at all. Been there numerous times each time was worse Then the last. Not going back. We need a good restaurant on the hart. But Im sad to say this probably, isnt it? Food
Just had breakfast at Queen of Harts. Service and food was excellent
We ordered pickup from queen of the hart, and this is how the eggs benny meal was presented to us. It taste good but the presentation was very poor.
Good service and good food
We checked out this new restaurant for the the third time. The food and service was excellent, and the restaurant was nice, bright and clean. The restaurant was quite busy, but our server remained attentive. The food arrived hot and fresh, and was quite enjoyable. The prices were very reasonable too. We will definitely be back. My only complaint is they dont have virgin mojitos, virgin chi chis, or Shirley Temples. Parking: The restaurant is in the Hart Shopping Centre, so there is lots of free parking.
The Reuben was on point, and the burger came out with a knife it was so big and juicy. The fries were hot and crispy. The service was great! Clean comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Food fit for a King or Queen !
Breakfast was good and the service was friendly!
We received a gift certificate for Christmas and visited your restaurant on New Years Eve. I must say everything was top notch, our server sorry I didnt get her name was friendly outgoing and just on top of everything. The food was very good and on our table in record time. All the best and Happy New Year.
Every time we go to the Queen of Harts, we get great service and yummy food!
Went for breakfast...yummy. best in town. Great service.
Couldn t ask for a better experience. Amazing food, friendly staff and a welcoming clean environment. Definitely going again.
Food ok staff OK and friendly so noisy I left with a screaming headache I dont think anyone knows how to use a inside voice gives me the feel of a Bingo hall
New diner-style restaurant located on Hart. Staff were polite and friendly, food selection was good. Price was average, food quality was good.
awesome service and tasty food! the tzatziki was to die for and the yam fries too. as a bonus the playlist slapped
Amazing food, amazing service. Breakfast there makes my day better.
Great food at a nice price
Paid 50 bucks for a mediocre meal that I could ve made better at home. Service was ok but be and my partner went out to Queen of Hearts and ordered some 18 dollar burgers, thinking they would be good, and got a store bought mess. Fries and onion rings where store-bought and very greasy. The burger was bland and unseasoned, didn t even taste like they salted it. I was honestly shocked that they served us store bought food for the price tag it had. Astronomically overpriced for incredibly mediocre food. I regret going there and probably never will again.
Food was bland and unseasoned fries looked and tasted store bought. But they still charge $20 for a burger
Excellent service. Good selection and good food.
Where do I start!!!!!!!...Welcome to the HART.. had to read why you had zero Stars.,, unfortunately! They sounded like they were looking for a five-star restaurant. 2 reviews.. my daughter myself and my granddaughter went two weeks ago. Service awesome! We have the breakfast! There was a bit of noise but because of the construction next to the new restaurant that was open...2nd review! Today I took my father and my mother and my 93-year-old grandfather for breakfast. They were all accommodating, great service and my family left saying that was a very nice breakfast and didnt have to go down town .bill was $ 82 for four people with breakfast coffee and everything else.. and yes I left at $16 cuz I could!... keep up the great work and the great food. I will recommend you to anyone that comes through this park!!!
Very good Chicken Club.
Great meal with the family. Kids loved it. Entrees were well portioned and tasted great. Perfect addition to the neighbourhood
Great little restaurant! Enjoyed our food and the service was awesome!
Came to this place on a whim and I was greatly impressed. Ordered the spinach dip, expecting to be a small portion like most places serve you, and was blown away with how much they gave us. We actually had to order more chips to finish the dip. We ordered a burger and a special roast beef sandwich and both were well above expectations. Jordan, our server, was fast, friendly, and very accommodating. 10/10 recommend this place!
Great place to bring the family. The pasta is top-notch.
Good food, good prices. Servers are terrific and personable. Nice to have a restaurant like this in the Hart mall
Decent place on the hart.
My husband and I both had the Queens Breakfast Bowl and it was some of the best Ive had. Super hot, super fast, service was amazing! I will be back for sure!
The food is good however the portion sizes are small and the prices are high. I honestly just dont think their food is worth what they are asking for it. I think if their portions were larger or prices were lower it would be a great regular spot to eat at but with the combination of high prices and small portions its just not worth it and their are so many other restaurants that you get more bang for your buck.
All around good place to eat.
Great food and service. Great family diner.
Great service, pleasant server. Good coffee, we had a chicken club and a beef dip. Excellent tasting grub for sure! Parking: Lots of free parking close to the restaurant door.
Was great service was very kind and fast
Great food, great service, definitely coming back
We were greeted immediately upon entering, the waitress was great. The food was hot and very good. Enjoyed the spinage dip, BLT and poutine.
We had the breakfast bowl (one with bacon and the second subbed corn-beef for bacon) plus eggs Benedict with bacon. The food and coffee were fresh, hot, and delicious. Our server was attentive and really pleasant. We appreciated the cleanliness and brightness of the space and the quiet atmosphere facilitated easy conversation. We will definitely be back!
Clean welcoming atmosphere with delicious homestyle food
Our go-to breakfast place when company is visiting and wants to go out. Always a great meal with fast service. Weve visited 5 times and never had a complaint. Food
Best teriyaki chicken Ive ever had , waitress was super friendly and even wrote happy birthday on my dads order( as I got take out for my dads day ) and wrapped him a free piece e of pie . Dad loved his steak and I had the beef dip and we shared onion rings and chicken wings we couldnt come close to finishing it all . I give a 10/10
Very accommodating- We went there for a early morning meal. And my husband had breakfast. But I wanted a Nashville chicken Sandwich which was really good. And the one head made it for me, it was great.
The Ambiance is excellent fall Thanksgiving decorations abound staff is extremely friendly and attentive highly recommend
Always great food and service.
Picked up beef dip for takeout it was amazing so much meat and not fatty at all !!
Oh the atmosphere was soo great, loved the music, loved the specials everytime. Hands down the best freaking waffle and chicken Ive had in a while. Cant wait to see what they come up with next.
Very frigging good!!!!!!
We popped in for a quick breakfast at lunchtime and were greeted immediately even though the place was busy. The service was amazing and the food delicious. We saw the meals being delivered to other tables and wished we could eat them all; they looked so good! Highly recommend stopping here for more than breakfast if you re in the PG area!
Good gravy, fast service. Nothing special really
Came here for lunch today, food was delicious, service was amazing!! Its nice to have more local places to eat. If you re not from the hart, it s worth the drive !!
Great food, excellent staff, and the tvs are set to sports
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by this place. I had the loaded omelette special. It was a very large portion and very delicious. Service from the young lady was excellent. Coffee was always full and hot. Thanks for the great experience! We will be back.
I ordered takeout they forgot my au jus, and burnt my wings that still had feathers on them very disappointed in this restaurant
Great food and atmosphere. Nice enough place we could take our growing kids. Kid-friendliness: Nice servers, options for kids Food : 5/5 |
First time impressions are: The food is the only saving grace. Service was sub par at best, and with such a small venue space, there should be no reason for it. Front of house MAKES the place memorable. My families experience was we went at lunch rush or around 1PM. Head count at its peak while we were there was 25 people. 3 active servers on the floor, with what appears to each have sections, splitting the room in thirds. That is 3 or 4 tables per server, in each section, catering to 8-10 people. Coffee, is hands down the most ordered drink for adults in any restaurant or pub-style setting over lunch. There is zero excuse why anyone should have to wait 15 minutes, and then get up and proceed to find a server to request a refill. The coffee pot should be in hand as servers make their rounds. Servers dont seem to table touch at all, by inquiring about how the food is, or if they can accommodate further. Cross service seems to be none existent, meaning servers seem oblivious and uninterested in helping one another, as my families table was walked past many, many times without the slightest notion of observing an empty coffee cup, empty pop glass, and missing side sauces for a quesadillas. Zero issues with food, or the price, but if this is the best the front of house can muster - it NEEDS work. One can only hope the night staff carries the place better.
